i thought browse features was from the youtube homepage and "suggested videos" was from when you're watching a video but i don't know why i thought that besides "well clearly those can't be the same thing"
I forgot how good this is. like I've made this exact post before I think but I don't care this really does get funnier the more you look at it
#maybe “browse features” is like the trending page?#or the subscription??#idk it being the biggest one does kind of imply that it's the youtube homepage for me#i mean youtube *does* have an “explore” tab but i can't imagine 61.9% of the viewers come from there even though that's the “browse feature#as opposed to algorithms which should be 'suggested videos'

Decoding Your E-commerce Audience: Essential Insights for Achieving Success
In the bustling world of ecommerce, understanding your audience isn't just beneficial—it's crucial. Without a deep comprehension of who your customers are, what they need, and how they behave, even the most well-designed online store can struggle to achieve its full potential. In this article, we’ll explore the key insights necessary to decode your ecommerce audience and set your business on a path to success.
Know Your Demographics
The first step in understanding your ecommerce audience is to get a clear picture of their demographics. This includes basic information such as age, gender, location, income level, and education. Demographic data helps you segment your audience into specific groups, enabling you to tailor your marketing efforts more effectively.
Why Demographics Matter
Targeted Marketing: Knowing the age and gender of your audience can help you create more targeted advertising campaigns. For example, if your primary audience is young women, you might focus on social media platforms like Instagram or TikTok.
Product Development: Understanding the income levels and locations of your customers can inform your product pricing and shipping strategies. High-income customers in urban areas might prefer premium products with fast shipping, while budget-conscious shoppers might look for value deals.
Analyze Behavioral Data
Beyond demographics, it's essential to dive into the behavioral data of your customers. This involves examining how they interact with your website, what products they view and purchase, and how they respond to different marketing tactics.
Key Behavioral Insights
Browsing Patterns: Tools like Google Analytics can show you which pages your customers visit most frequently, how long they stay on each page, and where they drop off. This information can help you optimize your website’s user experience.
Purchase History: By analyzing past purchases, you can identify trends and patterns in buying behavior. This allows you to create personalized recommendations and marketing messages that resonate with individual customers.
Cart Abandonment: Understanding why customers add items to their cart but don’t complete the purchase can help you address potential pain points. Maybe your checkout process is too complicated, or your shipping costs are too high. Identifying these issues can lead to improvements that increase your conversion rates.
Leverage Psychographics
Psychographics delve deeper into the psychological aspects of your audience, including their interests, values, attitudes, and lifestyle choices. This level of understanding can significantly enhance your marketing strategies.
Applying Psychographic Insights
Content Creation: Knowing what interests and values your audience holds can help you create content that resonates deeply with them. If your audience values sustainability, for instance, content highlighting your eco-friendly practices can foster a stronger connection.
Brand Messaging: Your brand’s voice and messaging should align with your audience’s attitudes and lifestyle. For example, a brand targeting health-conscious individuals should emphasize wellness and healthy living in its communications.
Product Development: Insights into your audience’s lifestyle can guide the development of new products or features. If you discover a significant portion of your audience enjoys outdoor activities, you might expand your product line to include items suited for outdoor use.
Use Social Listening
Social listening involves monitoring social media channels for mentions of your brand, products, competitors, and relevant keywords. This practice can provide a wealth of information about your audience’s opinions and preferences.
Benefits of Social Listening
Real-Time Feedback: Social media offers instant feedback on your products and campaigns. Pay attention to what customers are saying and use this information to make timely adjustments.
Trend Identification: By keeping an eye on trending topics and hashtags, you can identify emerging trends that might be relevant to your audience. This allows you to stay ahead of the curve and offer products or content that align with current interests.
Competitor Insights: Social listening also gives you a glimpse into what your competitors are doing and how their customers are responding. This can inform your own strategies and help you find ways to differentiate your brand.
Conduct Surveys and Feedback
While data analytics and social listening provide valuable insights, sometimes the best way to understand your audience is simply to ask them. Conducting surveys and soliciting feedback can yield direct and specific information about customer preferences and experiences.
Effective Survey Strategies
Ask the Right Questions: Ensure your survey questions are clear and relevant. Focus on aspects of your business that you can control and improve, such as product satisfaction, website usability, and customer service.
Incentivize Participation: Offer incentives such as discounts or entry into a prize draw to encourage more customers to complete your surveys.
Analyze and Act: Collecting feedback is only valuable if you act on it. Analyze the results carefully and implement changes based on the insights gained.
Personalize the Customer Experience
Personalization is no longer a luxury but a necessity in today’s ecommerce landscape. Customers expect a shopping experience tailored to their preferences and behaviors.
Steps to Personalization
Segmentation: Use the demographic, behavioral, and psychographic data you’ve gathered to segment your audience into distinct groups. This allows you to create more targeted and relevant marketing campaigns.
Recommendation Engines: Implement recommendation engines that suggest products based on past purchases and browsing history. Personalized recommendations can increase average order value and improve customer satisfaction.
Dynamic Content: Use dynamic content on your website and in your email marketing to provide personalized experiences. For example, show different homepage banners or product suggestions based on the visitor’s previous interactions with your site.
Conclusion
Decoding your ecommerce audience is an ongoing process that requires continuous effort and adaptation. By understanding your audience’s demographics, behaviors, and psychographics, leveraging social listening, conducting surveys, and personalizing the customer experience, you can build stronger connections with your customers and drive your business towards greater success. The more you know about your audience, the better you can serve them—and in the competitive world of e-commerce, that understanding can be the key to standing out and thriving.

WordPress Maintenance Checklist
Watch the ultimate full WordPress maintenance guide after installation. All the tips you must know to boost and secure your site!
➤ 1. Visit Your Site Visiting your site’s front end and clicking around to a few key pages is a great way to catch any potential issues. So, once a week, head to your site and browse a few of the key pages to make sure everything is still working as you expect it to.
➤ 2. Moderate Comments If you allow comments on your site, you’ll need to spend some time moderating them each week to make sure you approve real comments and flag/delete spam comments. To help you save time on comment moderation, you can consider using an anti-spam plugin.
➤ 3. Back-Up Your Site Having a recent backup is essential to secure your site’s data. For most sites, weekly backups are a good frequency, but your site’s optimal backup frequency really depends on how often you’re making changes and adding content to the database.
➤ 4. Apply Updates If you want to secure your website and keep it functioning, promptly applying updates is essential. Every week, you should check in to see if there are any updates for the WordPress core, plugins, or themes.
➤ 5. Test Key Forms and Features If you have important forms or features (like a checkout process), it’s important to regularly test them. For some sites, you might want to perform this monthly instead of weekly. It really depends on how essential the forms/features are to your business.
➤ 6. Check Google Search Console If Google encounters any issues with your site’s SEO or mobile optimization, it will share alerts in Google Search Console. For that reason, it’s important to frequently check in to see if Google has flagged any issues with your site.
➤ 7. Run Performance Tests How quickly your site loads plays a key role in user experience and conversion rates and even has a small positive effect on SEO. It’s important to periodically assess your site’s performance to catch any potential issues. Once a month is a good frequency for most websites, though you might want to perform this weekly for mission-critical sites.
➤ 8. Analyze Your Site’s Traffic To understand what’s happening on your site, you should be using some type of web analyticstool such as Google Analytics. Most webmasters don’t need to check that often, but it is still useful to check in once a month or so to keep track of what’s happening and notice any trends.
➤ 9. Run a Security Scan Because WordPress is so popular, it’s an attractive target for malicious actors. To make sure your site doesn’t become a victim, it’s good to run regular security scans to catch potential issues.
➤ 10. Optimize Your Site’s Database Your site’s database is what stores all of your content, theme settings, plugin settings, etc. Over time, it can generate a lot of clutter via things like post revisions, transients, spam comments, etc. For that reason, it’s a good idea to periodically optimize your site’s database to remove all of this junk.
➤ 11. Check for Broken Links or 404 Errors Broken links or 404 errors are horrible for the user experience on your site because they get in the way of visitors finding what they’re looking for. To check your site for broken links, you can use a plugin.
➤ 12. Verify Your Site’s Backups A backup is only good if it works. So while you should take backups of your site weekly, it’s also important to periodically verify that those backups actually work. You can do this by restoring the backup of your site to a staging site or using a local WordPress development environment.
➤ 13. Consider Whether You Need New Hosting As your site grows, it’s easy to grow so much that you outgrow your current hosting. This is a good problem to have, but it might necessitate upgrading to a higher-tier plan at your host or maybe even moving to a better host.
➤ 14. Change Your WordPress Password All the WordPress security tips in the world don’t matter if a malicious actor gets their hands on your username and password. For that reason, it’s a good idea to follow good password principles and change your WordPress admin password once per year or so.
➤ 15. Audit Your Content A content audit is a great way to improve your site’s SEO and user experience. With it, you can double down on your site’s top-performing content and also fix its weakest content. Essentially, your goals with a content audit are to:
1. Update and improve your top-performing content to help it keep its rankings or perform even better. 2. Remove ineffectual content and either merge its content into other content or redirect it to other content.
➤ 16. Audit Your Plugins Every plugin that you add to your site is a potential security vulnerability and a potential drag on your site’s performance. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use plugins, but it does mean you should be careful to make sure you’re only using essential plugins. For that reason, it’s a good idea to consider once per year whether your site is still getting benefits from each plugin that you’re using.

The Digital Fashion Takeover
How Instagram replaced fashion magazines as the most trusted source of information for trend-conscious and fashionable women in Japan.
An Analog Country
There is this widely disseminated belief that Japan is a hi-tech paradise. But it only exists among people who are not very familiar with Japan. The truth is that it is an analog country. Its population is old-fashioned and much more suspicious of new technologies than the global average. That is why we are in 2022, and there are still fax machines, DVD rental services, and CD stores all over Japan.
So it is unsurprising that the internet didn't really "happen" in Japan as fast as in the West and the rest of Asia. In the early 2000s, households with multiple computers were commonplace in several countries. People were fastly adapting to this new reality where the internet was at the center of everything. The effects of this were being felt, with the start of the music industry collapse due to piracy, etc.
Meanwhile, the internet was still a mysterious beast in the Land of the Rising Sun. A household would maybe have one laptop for the whole family to share. Things like instant messaging and downloading music were unheard of. And the leading way people would connect with the World Wide Web was not through a computer but their modest flip phones.
Modest for modern standards, of course. Because while this idea of Japan as a particularly technologically advanced country is a bit outdated, it used to be true in the 1980s. And maybe even in the 90s and early 2000s. Japanese cell phones were a great example of that. There, mobile phones became widespread much more quicker. While we could not do much with ours besides some amateur texting and maybe playing that snake game, the Japanese cells were equipped with cameras, e-mail, and web browsers. Cellphones in Japan were a much more potent social tool than anywhere else. That was especially true among young women.
But that meant the way your average Japanese person would experience the internet was very different and much more modest because the possibilities when browsing the web through a computer were much broader. Through a flip phone, your options were severely limited.
The Hold of the Fashion Magazines
Despite being suspicious of the internet, the Japanese were early adopters of online shopping. This phenomenon could be read as a sign of incoming changes in the fashion industry. But, by the turn of the century, the supremacy of fashion magazines felt unthreatened. The idea of the internet as an endless source of information was already commonplace globally but not in Japan. Plus, the Japanese are old-fashioned. Ergo the reliability and tradition represented by those mags couldn't easily be replicated by the new technologies.
By the mid-2000s, however, fashionable Japanese girls were already using the internet to complement their fashion knowledge, with local blog platforms like Ameblo, Jugem, and Yaplog hosting countless personal blogs focused on clothes, cosmetics, and style and lifestyle trends. At that time, a staple of the Japanese internet experience was already noticeable: an obsession with privacy and anonymity. Japanese fashion bloggers were mostly anonymous, showing their clothing items spread on their beds or against cute backdrops but rarely on them. Pics of their faces were always pixelated or with little hearts blocking any recognizable feature.
The exception was popular fashion models who also started populating blog platforms. Before influencers existed, these models were already filling this role in Japan. They showed their lifestyle, shared what's inside their luxury brand bags, showed off their favorite clothes and cosmetics, and gave tips on beauty and lifestyle. Traditionally, they did this on the pages of the fashion magazines they represented, yet, by the late 2000s, they were also doing it in their blogs. Fashion brands also started jumping on the trend, using Ameblo and Yaplog to inform customers of new products, introduce sales clerks' clothes and tips, etc.
Still, those blogs weren't fully cannibalizing fashion magazine sales. Yes, they were full of pictures. But those pixelated cellphone pics couldn't realistically compete with the high-quality images and in-depth details you could find in the pages of the (very thick and visual-heavy) magazines. Back then, blogs were a complement to magazines.
Digital Takeover
But in 2008, the launch of the iPhone in Japan led to seismic changes. Expectations were high because the iPod was a big success in the country. But Japan is old-fashioned and traditional, and the Apple phone, with its unique no-keyboard design, had a slow start. Eventually, though, sales picked up, and suddenly, iPhones were everywhere. The traditional Japanese cellphone was dead and was officially replaced by the smartphone. For the first time, almost everyone had the internet in its full, unfiltered format in the palm of their hand.
Cellphones became a potent, widespread tool in Japan much earlier than in the rest of the world. The internet, not so much. But, by the end of the 2000s, both things were almost identical. The digital fashion takeover had officially (albeit a bit belatedly) begun.
The takeover was complete when Instagram officially replaced fashion magazines as the primary source of information and trend dissemination in the country.
The More Things Change...
Instagram brought changes to the Japanese fashion landscape. Information traveled quicker. Without the gatekeeping of magazines, fashion tribes became even more fluid. It became easier to track trends and more difficult because niches aren't as organized as before. And the obsession with anonymity diminished a bit.
But old habits die hard.
Especially in Japan. So tribes -- despite not necessarily having an easily identifiable name -- are still neatly divided. Each tribe still has its fashion leaders and influencers. Women aren't as gung-ho about being anonymous as before, with plenty of users putting their faces out there, but maintaining your anonymity isn't rare. Heck, even some of the most famous YouTubers in Japan don't show their faces.
And anyway, Japanese fashion magazines were perfect precursors to Instagram. Consequently, the transition has been somewhat seamless. Magazines were very visual-oriented, with hardly any text and a total focus on pictures and aesthetics. They had models that filled the same role as influencers. They had "readers models" (dokusha moderus aka dokumos), readers selected to appear in the title due to their slightly above average looks and aspirational lifestyles, creating a "real life" bond with the public. All of those aspects can be found nowadays on the Facebook-owned app.
So are things different? Yes, especially from afar. But deep down, the traditions remained unchanged, which is just how Japan likes it.

Personal Update
I think I ought to provide a personal update to all of you, just to vent all my thoughts somewhere and to explain my recent activity.
Personal Life
Like many of you, 2020 was not kind to me. While I fortunately haven't been directly impacted by COVID yet, the pandemic amplified some minor personal missteps to the point where I'm extremely anxious about my future.
I'm a college student, and I'll have a bachelor's in engineering in May. My GPA is phenomenal, but I fear that's all I have going for me. The thing that really matters are connections, as well as the early experiences that connections help with. I don't have that. I'm quite shy and never put myself out there to anybody in the industry or professors, nor do I come from a family of engineers who can get me a job through nepotism. Either it was too late when I realized that connections were at least as important as grades, or I willingly buried my head in the sand. By the time I was planning to sort myself out and put myself out there, COVID hit, putting an end to physical interaction and any shot at an internship last summer, which I was really counting on. More recently, I've all but canned some plans that I had for grad school. I don't feel like it's worth it in the position I'm in. Thus, I've jumped right into finding jobs, and it's tough. I imagine it's a mix of a bad economy and just not knowing how to do it since I've never been hired for a competitive position. I'm gonna need a lot of luck.
I know I'm not alone, but it weighs heavily on me. Sometimes it overwhelms me. When I think about it, I feel bad to do anything else to enjoy myself (especially art), but at the same time I feel defeated and discouraged from trying, so it becomes a vicious cycle.
Art
I fell off hard in the second half of last year. ATG last June burned me out. By the time I recovered from it, my computer broke. And by the time my computer was fixed and I was getting back into art again, the semester started. It wasn't even a particularly hard semester, but I just struggled with time management. This break between semesters (started a month ago, ending very soon) hasn't been too productive either. There's still lots that I want to do (OC development, learning to draw backgrounds once and for all, collabs, anthro, non-pony, just some good ol' canon ponies more than once every few months, reviving that kinky alt of mine I've mentioned here once, and probably more), but I just struggle to focus on it with the world weighing on my mind.
A few months ago, I opened commissions. If any of my commissioners are reading this, thank you again for buying one. I was a little disappointed with the demand I got for them, but I figure it was mostly because when I opened them and ever since, I've barely ever been drawing. I might not have been able to handle a lot of commissions anyways. For now though, commissions are closed, and I'm not sure when they'll open back up.
Online Relationships
I've been becoming more closed off online (and offline probably) over the past few months. Again, it has to do mostly with poor time management and stress. I treasure many of my past interactions, and I'd love to talk to more people online, but I just struggle to balance it all. If I've drifted away from you lately, it's not anything to do with you. Maybe I'll be able to get back out of my shell soon.
Twitter etc.
Twitter bothers me a lot. Actually, nearly all of the art sites bother me, but Twitter bothers me most. First of all, it's one of the greatest hotbeds of toxicity ever. Even outside of a strictly political sense (which needs no elaboration, but I must say makes me fear for the world's future), it still leads to all sorts of unwarranted harassment that isn't good for society. I'm looking at you, "Trixie is trans" folks. That drama, along with the Capitol stuff, is the straw that broke the camel's back for me. Secondly, it just isn't an art site. People use it because others use it and because it has porn. That's all. There's no organization on Twitter, and stuff just gets easily lost to time. And yet, some artists not only put up with Twitter, but can't get enough of it. They get caught up in trends that spam my feed. They get caught up by numbers. They use fleets, which is just the dumb corporate "stories" fad imported to Twitter, and doesn't even appear on desktop (which is both a blessing and a curse). Some call themselves "Twitter artists", letting it form their identity. But really, I can't blame these people, and if I described you, I don't mean to cause offense. The toxic hellhole of Twitter just shows no mercy in corrupting reasonable people. And the people who run Twitter love every single bit of it. Fuck Twitter.
I don't want to support Twitter, and I've been considering abandoning it, even if it means losing most of my following. I have a few artist friends who don't actively use Twitter and they live, though frankly they have less of a following, so there's less pressure there. However, the main reason I stick around is because so many artists only use Twitter, so that's where I can see their art. If I do leave it, an idea I've been considering is doing a raffle on all of my other sites. Not only would it encourage a few people to follow me on new sites, but maybe, just maybe it would encourage people to use sites other than Twitter. Still, I would need to either say goodbye to a lot of art or browse Twitter without actually using it (RSS? Keep the account to browse but not interact?).
It sucks though, because besides Twitter, where else is there? I've been getting more and more fed up with DeviantArt, my second most popular page, seemingly purposely killing their website. Tumblr is already dead, and if Pillowfort is supposed to be mimicking Tumblr, then it mimics Tumblr's inactivity best. I created a Newgrounds account recently and it actually seems pretty decent for art, but it too is dead. I've always been heavily active on Derpibooru, but that lacks the features of a full-fledged art site and has its own drama. As an aside, I actually joined staff there pretty recently. I understand that some people may not be happy with that site or its staff, and sometimes I'd agree with you, but it's been so incredibly valuable to me in exploring the pony fandom that I felt obligated to help it out, and I hope you can accept that. Anyways, Inkbunny looks like it'd be great if it weren't for all the... y'know. FurAffinity exists I guess. And Instagram is just Twitter but worse. I'll never touch it.
If you read everything up to here, or at least skimmed it thoroughly enough to understand, thank you.

Naruto fandom dynamics on FF.NET and AO3
After digging into Sakura’s shipping stats for MadaSaku Weekend, more questions emerged than were answered (It’s usually like that in science. And apparently as well in this “science” that I’m playing at in here).
The next thing that interested me was the dynamics of ship popularity, i.e. which ship was popular at what period of time. That would be fascinating to know if and how events in canon influenced the writers. I measured ship “popularity”, again, only by fic creation rate. (I think I might have also found a way of assessing the readers’ side of the coin. But that’s for later.)
But, before one assesses ship popularity, one needs a reference. A bare number of fics produced for a given pairing per year won’t tell us much if we don’t know how many fics were produced in general during that year. So, as a side-product of my great Sakura Multishipping Analysis Project (That’s a name. I came up with it right now and I will be using it from now on. Lol) I collected total numbers of fics published on FF.NET and AO3 over the years.
And since I am not aware of any current analysis of Naruto fandom dynamics (the only one I know is this great analysis of @toastystats from 2014) I thought that it would be interesting and maybe relevant for us to take a look into it.
So, let’s dive in!
Methods
I collected the data browsing through both archives. AO3 by default shows all available fics. Filters in FF.NET were set to display all Ratings (not Rating K -> T as in default). Fics were sorted by Publish Date in both archives.
I browsed through the archives and took note which consecutive page of the archive featured a first appearance of a “new” year as a Publish Date of the fic on the top of the page (see Figure 1).
In the example illustrated in Figure 1. the first fic on the page 806 was published on 01.01.2018. The first fic on the page 807 was published on 31.12.2017. Page 807 was defined as the first page of 2017. Independently on how many fics published in 2017 could be found on the page 806, page 806 was still counted as “belonging” to the year 2018. Such simplified approach was necessary for streamlining of data collection.
Data collection was performed similarly on AO3. However, AO3 displays Publish Date only in the body on the fic (when browsing the archive, only Update Dates are visible, and those are different than Publish Dates for most of multichapter stories). Therefore, manual inspection of fics on the top of the pages was often necessary.
After identifying all “first” pages for every year, I calculated (via simple subtraction) how many pages of fics were produced per year. FF.NET displays 25 fics per page, AO3 – 20 fics, therefore the number of pages per year was multiplied by 25 for FF.NET and by 20 for AO3 to obtain the number of fics published in a given year.
Analogical approach was employed to examine the number of fics produced per month (the page number with first appearance of “new” month on top was noted) for the years 2018 and 2019, to gain more insight into details of fandom dynamics in most recent times.
Limitations of the method
Due to my definition of the “first page of the year”, each year can in reality have up to 24 fics more (or up to 19 more on AO3) on the page preceding “first page of the year” (page 806 in the example from Figure 1.). According to my method those fics would be included into the count of the following year (2018 in the example from Figure 1.). In the same time, a year can in reality have 24 fics less (19 less on AO3) than I calculated on its “last page” due to similar phenomenon concerning the year’s “end”.
Therefore, all the values reported for FF.NET have an error of +/- 24, and those for AO3, error of +/-19.
Additionally, as new fics keep being added, years’ borders may shift from one page to another. This factor should however be negligible, because current fic addition speed is ca. 1 fic per hour on FF.NET and 1,5 fic per hour on AO3 and my data collection lasted ca. 2h for FF.NET and 1h for AO3.
On AO3, authors can freely set a publication date, and the chosen date is then displayed in the header of the fic when one clicks inside it. The user-defined date doesn’t influence the sorting order, i.e. fics are still sorted according to their date of addition to the archive. However, the user-defined publish date makes application of my definition of the “first page of a year” very challenging. I often had to look at second, third or fourth fic on the page to find out to which year they belonged to (in order to correctly assign the page to the year). Fortunately, the publish date-changing seemed to be in fashion only during the early day of the archive (years 2009-2011). Therefore, the data from the years 2010 and 2011 may be contain larger errors than those from later years. Due to this difficulty, I also entirely opted out from reporting the data for 2009.
Results
Number of fics published per year on FF.NET and AO3 is shown in Figure 2.
On FF.NET, after a steep rise in years 2006-2007, Naruto fandom was at its peak in 2008 (having produced more than 45000 fics that year). After 2008 a rather steep decline can be observed, with a very slight reversal of negative trend in 2013. In 2019 only less than 9000 fics has been added to FF.NET.
Situation looks very differently on AO3, which, having been established in 2008 and opened for use in 2009, has been gaining momentum ever since. In 2019 ca. 13000 Naruto fics have been added to AO3. It is interesting to note that the growth of Naruto fandom on AO3 was very slow for several years, but recently it accelerated.
To examine the details of this “growth spurt”, I analyzed data from 2018 and 2019 month-by-month. Results are visualized in Figure 3.
It can be seen that until July 2018, less fics per month were being published on AO3 than FF.NET. In the period August 2018 – November 2018 the fics’ numbers between the platform evened out, and AO3 gained advantage over FF.NET in December 2018.
In order to check if the gain of fics on AO3 can counterbalance the loss of fics in FF.NET, I plotted the summed numbers of fics (those published on FF.NET and those published on AO3). The results are presented in Figure 4.
At the first glance, it looks as if AO3 could compensate for the losses on FF.NET and halt the decline. The case is not that straightforward however, and simple addition of fics from two platform can actually be misleading and incorrect. This is due to the fact that many authors publish in parallel on both platforms, and fics uploaded to FF.NET are de facto the same fics as those published on AO3. Additionally, some authors move from the older FF.NET to the newer AO3, where they re-post their older works in bulk.
To answer the question if the decline of Naruto fandom has been stopped, one would need to know the numbers of unique fics published per year. But, looking at years-long trend, I would lean towards the opinion that the decline is real.
But not to finish this post on a too depressing note, I would like to share one more graph – namely the cumulative number of fics on both platforms (Figure 5.). Even if the fandom is past its heyday, hundreds of thousands of fics have been produced and are there to read and enjoy (and comment on!). And, last but not least, it’s up to us to keep the fandom alive!
As usual, all comments, suggestions, tips and critiques are most welcome!

The perfect Real Estate Website to Use
With thousands of Real Estate websites you can get, finding the right one can be challenging. Do a search on Google and also get hit with the most popular Real Estate websites, like Zillow, Trulia, and Refine. Once you get past the first page sometimes the less popular sites now have the same home browse features. So how does a home owner or home patron to know what site is best. Before you choose you first need to know a little more about how they all started and what they really are. For several years if you were in the market to buy a home you had to go to any nearby Real Estate office in the area you wanted to buy a home through and ask to see a list of homes for sale. This list was the print out of the homes for sale from the local Multiple Listing service (MLS). Typically the list gave you basic information about the homes as well as marketing remarks. You scanned through it and then sought after an agent to show you the homes you thought you would possibly like. This was great for Real Estate agents because as harbors for this information, the buyers had to come to them. It also gifted the agent a chance to show the homes that the ingredient themselves were listing first. For the buyer this wasn't so good. It was hard for the buyer to tell if the realtor was there to represent them or the seller given that they wanted to look at homes in more than one town some might have to go to other Real Estate offices to see list as a result of other MLS's. These lists could also be out of date and when you will did find the home of your dreams it may already possibly be sold. This process could take a long time and be stressful just for even the most seasoned buyer. Fast forward a decade or maybe two and some important changes have happened. The MLS went digital and consolidated into larger MLS vendors that covered even larger areas. Here in Western Washington we now use The North West Multiple Listing service (NWMLS) and it handles all but two counties; Clark and Clallam. In the 90's the internet brought the first Real Estate websites. Most of these showed typically the homes listed by the agent/agencies that owned the website not to mention were not updated very often. Some of the bigger Real Estate agencies, those who had the money and resources, started building home looks tools using data directly from the MLS. Now, for those first time, buyers do not have to talk to an agent to find homes for sale and will get even more information (pictures, schools, map locations or higher to date status). Nowadays the price of producing these high quality website pages has come down to the point where the average agent with the ideal skills can build their own. We now see an exploding market of Real Estate websites and it seems most of them have residential search features. This leaves buyers confused on which web-site to use. Now that buyers can get information from just about any Realty website, what should they know before picking one? First of all, here in Washington State any licensed agent can reveal and represent you on any home listed about the MLS no matter what website you find it on. Most of these webpages have a mobile application or are mobile friendly. Alot of buyers begin their home search on the internet what they don't understand is without a doubt that that website you use to look at homes is a list size tool for the agent. The buyer is trading their call information for the use of the website. This is not a bad thing. Any time you really want to buy a home then you will need your questions clarified, help finding financing, an agent to open doors for everyone, someone who understand the paperwork and can help you using the negotiations, and a trusted agent to look out for you from the closing process. That can only happen when you talk to a real estate agent. Which agent you get is the important part. And that's whereby finding the right website comes in to play. The buyer should utilize these websites to find out more about the agent they might want to characterize them. Finding out more about the agent before getting knowledgeable about an agent is the key to achieving your goals regarding or selling a home. What you should be looking for is the things the agent's experience is in Real Estate? Do they perform full time as a licensed Real Estate agent? What is their closing achieving success rate? Do they guarantee their services? What achieve past clients have to say about the agent's service? All of these questions can sometimes be found on the agent's website but if not you might want to ask on the first contact with an agent. Now that you know where did they started and what they are, how do you choose the right website available for you? First, let's talk about the differences in these ınternet sites. We can break it down to four types. The first style is the big non brokerage sites like Zillow, Properties. com, Realtor. com and Trulia. These sites do not own agents working in the field. What they do will be sell the leads that register on their site for you to agents who hope to convert the lead into a client. These website have worked hard to make sure home buyers come across their site first. They have added a lot of nice devices that estimate home values or mortgage calculators and also all the information they can get on just about every home in the US and some other sorts of countries. They get most of this information from public track record and what some home owners may give them. The down side to this to these sites is that the information they employed can be out of date or inaccurate. Take the home values for example , because they get the sold data (what homes in the exact neighborhood sold for) from public records not the local THE LOCAL MLS their numbers can be behind the market trends. In the world regarding Real Estate we only look back to the last six months for helping us determine the value of a home. While the sale rate of a home may go in the public record right within closing, it can take months to filter through the system prior to these websites can encompass it into their data and also will throw their numbers off. There is also a question with regards to like kind homes. When a Real Estate agent or appraiser really does a comparable market analysis (CMA) of a home's importance, they look for homes just like the subject home (the place that is being valued) same size, same bedrooms, equivalent baths, same size property, same neighborhood and very same condition. This can be a bit of an art and the question is will be able to a computer do as good a job as an agent? This can set out buyers and home sellers confused about the true worth of a home. I would like to take this opportunity to weigh on on home values. In a free market, like ours here in the US, the true value of a home is exactly "the highest price a buyer is willing to pay as well as least amount a seller is willing to take" for just about any property. It is only when a property is sold that the true selling price can be set and everyone else, Real Estate Agent, Appraisers, County Assessors and any website, is only making an estimate as well as guess. The second type of Real Estate websites are the big plus medium size brokerages like Re/Max, Windermere, Coldwell Bank, Century 21, RedFin and ZipRealty. These companies have a number of brokerages in many locations throughout the US. These Real Estate suppliers have agents who work for the brokerages directly, normally as independent contractors. Leads or potential customers who signup on their sites are assigned out to the individual professional or sometimes sold depending on the companies polices. These companies make a large part on the agent's commission or pay, through some of them taking 60% or more. This means the agent should work harder to convert as many leads to customers as they can be just to make enough money to stay in business. Sometimes all these agents take on more than they can reasonably handle leading to very poor customer service or a higher transaction failure rate. Some of these providers give the buyer a rebate. This rebate comes out from the agent's commission and can make it even harder for providers to provide good service to their customers. I have heard loads of complaints about agents that disappeared once a commitment is signed or agents that refuse to show real estate to buyers that are looking at homes in the lower end of your market yet they still want to write up the written agreement and get paid a commission. The third type of Real Estate websites is the small or independent brokerages. These companies are usually had and operated by seasoned agents who have the proficiency and knowledge to build a good quality website and provide decent service to buyers and sellers alike. You will find an identical home search tools and email notifications as within the big sites and because these sites serve localized communities, many times these sites have more information about the locations they serve and consumers can read more around the agents that they may want to use in buying or selling their homes. They then can have one or more agents working together as a team or possibly as independent agents and usually have a higher successful ending rate. What makes these sites the best choice for home individuals or sellers is the agents that come with them. The 4 . type of Real Estate website is the independent agent website. All these websites are built by the individual agent or a third party on the part of the agent. They can be as good as any of the bigger commercial websites depending on the skill, time and money an agent is ready to put into it. These agents can be very good agents but still most of them are little more than one page public resumes put out by agents hoping to attract buyers and / or sellers to the agent it is promoting. So in taking into consideration a Real Estate website, buyers and sellers should take into account a website is not going to help you buy or sell your home, oahu is the Real Estate agent. The website is a way of seeking out the right agent to try the job. Think of it this way, since you can get the properties information from just about every website now what value presently getting from a website? The value is in the service you can get from an agent who may save you time, money as well as keep you from the heartache of a bad deal or perhaps bad service.

A Guide to Webnovels
Some of you may have heard of webnovels / webfiction by now. Huge successes like Worm or The Wandering Inn have certainly not gone unnoticed by speculative fiction fans and most of us have heard whispers about that legendary site: Wattpad. Still, webnovels remain a niche product, with its audience being mostly teenagers. People might avoid them because the quality of the novels wildly vary and it takes too long to sift through so many options until you find something decent. But how is that different from looking through self-published books? Another reason is that people might simply not know where to look. Especially with webfiction guide not accepting new users, there's no other sites that list webnovels from various sources for you to look through. Or are there?
Well, buckle up, fellow speculative-ists, I'm about to help you out with finding new, free fiction that releases at a faster rate than that one book if you've waiting for for 5 years!
(Full disclosure: I am a webnovel author. You may find my name / novel pretty quickly on one of the sites I will mention in this guide because I'm on trending and high up on the dark fantasy tag there. I'm not writing all of this for self-promotion purposes, however. It honestly makes me sad to see amazing webnovels doing poorly while average ones do amazingly simply because the audience is severely skewed. This is my attempt to broaden the audience a little bit, while giving other speculative fiction fans the chance to find amazing stories and fellow authors another outlet for their creations.)Let's get into it:The cons of webnovels
Quality does vary greatly and you'll have to sift through tags and read synopsis, reviews and first chapters looking for something you like and that is a bit timeconsuming. I still think it's not much different from looking for books you might enjoy, if you search efficiently.
Novels tend to be dropped. A lot. The golden rule that everyone tends to follow is: if it's less than 20~30 chapters or 200 pages, don't touch it. Filter out everything that is on hiatus. Big yes to novels that have at least one arc / volume / book finished.
The pros of webnovels
They're almost all completely free. Authors will have patreons, paypal and ko-fi if you want to tip them or get extra rewards, but that's it. If you don't like something, you've wasted nothing but a bit of time.
Fast releases. To make their novels competitive, authors tend to release new chapters at the very least weekly, with the most common release schedule being 2~3 times a week. Some even release daily. Some, still, release several chapters a day. You can follow the novel, forget about it during the week or for a month and end up with quite a stash of chapters to binge.
Being part of something that is being created "in real time". Webnovel authors will often ask for input from their readers, have fun polls where they ask them to vote on certain things, active discord servers, etc. You can also come up with and discuss theories and character growth as the story advances. It's a livelier community than getting a book that's finished and then you just talk about a full, finished project.
Where to look for webnovels?
With webfiction guide not accepting new members, it becomes a bit harder to find an impartial list of quality webnovels. You can still look at their top webfiction guide, but you're likely to have heard about some, if not all of the authors there. So, what to do when you've read through this list already (or browsed through it and nothing caught your attention)?
Muse's Success - This is a "sister site" to webfiction guide that serves as a directory. Webnovels have to be added manually either by fans or the authors and there is a rating system, but I can't vouch for how reliable it is.
If you want to forego directories and go right to the source, however, I'd say RoyalRoad is the biggest site for speculative webfiction. Yes, Wattpad exists, but it's largely for romance (some with speculative elements, of course), but it's also a bit of a mess to navigate and it's very unkind to new authors and works more like a SNS than an actual writing site. RoyalRoad offers better options in terms of following webnovels, looking through and filtering tags, getting rid of fictions you don't want to see, etc. It's a very good platform, overall, the best of its kind, I would say. It does lack a mobile app, but that's being worked on at the moment.
The Tops and Lists
Of course, the first place most people will look at is the tops and most viewed lists on any site. Don't be surprised if you find yourself disappointed with some of these. It happens. Make sure you don't stick to the first page only.
Best Rated - As the name indicates, this is a list of the best rated novels in the entire website. Some of them are already finished and have been so for years, some are still ongoing and have been so for years. You can select the complete only and active only best rated depending on whether you're looking for completed or on-going novels, too.
Trending - This is a list of 50 fictions that are doing the best at the moment, on the site. They call them the "rising stars" because they tend to be newer fictions, but you might find some older ones there as well.
Popular This Week - Again, as the name suggests, the novels that have been most viewed and rated the past week.
These lists tend to be somewhat repetitive. If you're on the top 7 on trending, you get a lot of exposure and that makes you rise on Popular This Week and Best Rated. It's kind of a cycle. So, what to do if you're done reading everything that interested you on these?
Search Feature
Maybe you're out of more popular stuff to read and want to dive deeper. Maybe you like finding hidden gems. Maybe you want to scratch an itch for a very specific genre. Don't fear, the search feature is here. And I'm too. I'm going to link you directly to the speculative genre tag searches. All you have to do is further filter the searches for anything else specific you might want or not want, choose whether you want on-going or complete fictions, pick which content warnings you're fine with. Filter as little or as much as you like! Though I'd say to filter a little bit if you want something specific, don't filter too much or you might end up missing on awesome novels just because the author forgot to tick a box or decided to put in a gore warning for that one scene where someone gets an arm cut out.
Fantasy - Historical Fantasy - Horror Fantasy - Horror - Sci-Fi - Horror Sci Fi
Final Notes
Don't filter for completed if you want finished books but are fine with ongoing series. Authors will usually make a listing for a series but not mark it as completed until the entire thing is done.
Some webnovel authors will self-publish. If you become their patron early on, you'll be getting cool stuff, helping them on their journey and getting a free book at the end. You might even get a character named after you!
Rate, review, all that, but please be kind. A lot of webnovel authors are very young and / or just starting out. If you see a story that you absolutely despise and / or can't read, it's best to move on and click the "don't show me this novel again" button than to rate them a 0.5* and ruin their day. Did you enjoy a story, however? Splurge. Make an account (or log in with google) and slap on that 5* advance review on it.
You're gonna see a lot of, hmm, particular tropes. Don't give up. Please. For the sake of all of us that don't write them and need more readers. I'm begging you.
To paraphrase something another user said on the RR discord: "You tend to find good writing and the same boring old ideas in mainstream fiction, while webfiction is filled with original ideas and worldbuilding but the writing is sometimes not the best". I think that sums it up pretty well. If you're looking for innovative ideas while seeing and helping writers grow at the same time, give webnovels a try.
I hope this guide was useful and if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

The Best SEO Tactics to Use in 2019
Digital marketing and search engine optimisation tactics change all the time. If you want to rank on top, then you’ll need to familiarise yourself with all the recent trends and popular SEO tactics.
Achieving high rankings is not as easy as it used to be, but it doesn’t have to be difficult either. Keep reading to find out how to drive organic traffic to your website in 2019.
Keywords Make the World Go Round
You probably know this already, but ranking without making proper use of keywords is nearly impossible. There are hundreds of free tools that can help you with that, but here are the ten best that we love and use all the time.
Finding the keywords is only the first step. To create engaging content that will rank high you need to know your audience and write for them. Keywords are great but they mean nothing if you don’t know what your target audience is searching for.
Think of questions that your target audience might ask. Then answer them in small chunks. By breaking up content into smaller, more manageable chunks, you increase your chances of taking the highly sought-after featured snippet spot.
Better User Experience
Google is sworn to provide users with the best user experience possible as they strive to meet the user’s intent with every query. Google does this better than any other search engine in the world.
More time spent on a website and a reduced bounce rate are good indicators of user satisfaction. Google rewards sites that have low bounce rates with higher page ranking.
That all sounds great, but how do you actually improve user experience?
Work on Your Writing
Everything you write needs to serve a specific purpose. Fill the page with promises, or just write about your favourite ice cream. Whatever you do, make sure that you always optimise for readability.
You want to engage people and captivate your audience with interesting blog post titles and exciting content. The better the content, the more time users will spend browsing through your pages.
Of course, it’s not just about the content itself. Formatting also plays a crucial role and you should aim to get it right. Generally, you want to keep paragraphs nice and short, while consciously alternating the length of sentences. Content that flows better reads better, simple as that.
The truth is that people don’t really read content, they scan through it. The average person spends just 37 seconds reading content online. Make it easier for readers to scan through your website by formatting properly: headings, sub-headings, bullet points, and images; anything that pleases the eye!
Don’t forget that you’re a marketer. Unless you’re running a charity, we suppose that your goal is to maximise sales. Your marketing strategy may be spot on, but the copy on your web page needs to be perfect too. That means no spelling errors, no grammar mistakes.
You want to engage people and captivate your audience with interesting blog post titles and exciting content. The better the content, the more time users will spend browsing through your website.
Work on Page Design & Speed
Good page design improves user experience. The most important things are big and pop out whereas the rest sit quietly in the background. Anything that’s not necessary or is cluttering the user’s screen needs to go.
Analysis of data from thousands of website shows that users are more likely to convert on a website when all the required information is clearly visible. Your products and services should be accessible at all times, preferably never more than two clicks away.
Your landing page should be designed to impress. Think beautiful navigation bars and captivating visuals. Focus on one single idea and stick to it throughout. Will the page promote your brand as a whole, or will it be used as a means of promoting a new product or service?
Needless to say, your page needs to run fast too. No one will wait 30 seconds for your super-slow website to load. You have 2 seconds, if that. An online tool, such as PageSpeed Insights can identify underlying speed issues and come up with suggestions to improve speed.
It’s usually just a matter of minifying unnecessary code and compressing large images. You should also enable browser caching to make sure regular users don’t have to wait more than a few seconds for your page to load.
Optimise for Voice Search
Did you know that 40% of adults use voice search at least once per day? Voice search is fast and convenient, and its success is a testament to our laziness. Jokes aside, voice search matters because it largely affects SEO.
The big giants designed voice search assistants that reply to our queries like a friend would. As a result, voice searches directed to them are often longer and much more conversational than regular searches.
This is why you need to make sure you use natural-sounding language when producing content. It’s also a good idea to form queries into question phrases and target long-tail keywords.
Most voice searches are carried out on mobile devices. Effectively, this means that your website needs to be optimised for mobile.
Voice-based searches performed using a mobile phone are 3 times more likely to be location specific, which is exactly why so many SEO strategies today focus on local SEO.
Size Does Matter
Gone are the days when you could rank number one with a 400-word blog post. Studies show that size does matter as long-form content tends to rank higher on the SERPS.
We know what you’re thinking. You may not have the time to write 2,500-word articles, but the stats don’t lie. That is not to say that you absolutely cannot rank with shorter blog posts.
Yes, statistically longer-form content tends to rank higher on Google, but at the end of the day, rankings still reflect the satisfaction of user intent. It all depends.
For example, if you’re writing a quick start Google Analytics guide, you’d want a post that’s at least 1,500 words. An in-depth guide would have to be at least 2,500 words long.
More specific ‘how to’ queries may be easily answered within a few hundred words, which is probably exactly what the user’s looking for anyway.
Link building
Once upon a time, backlinks ruled the SEO world. Even today, they are still the number one ranking factor according to Google. It’s actually extremely hard to rank high without a proper link building strategy in place.
Keep in mind that not all links are good links. You should avoid linking to websites with low ratings as that can affect your own ratings too. If you really want to link to a questionable source (maybe you’re trying to prove a point), you can use a no-follow link with your anchor text.
The real challenge, however, is getting high-quality sources to link to your content. Focus on filling the gaps, offering new and original content. Think fresh and stay unique.
Technical SEO
You may get everything right and still struggle to rank high on the search results. If you’ve tried it all but your website still ranks low, then you can probably blame it on bad technical optimisation.
Technical SEO optimisation takes time and effort (which is why we always recommend that you leave it to professionals), but there are some things you can do right now to improve your ranking:
Switch from the old HTTP web protocol to HTTPS. Google warns users when they attempt to enter a website that doesn’t make use of an encrypted connection.
Implement AMP for mobile. Accelerated Mobile Pages takes care of HTML tags, javascript and caches, allowing publishers to create responsive and mobile-optimised content.
Correct your semantic markups. Key information on your website should be clearly visible with proper HTML tags.
Fix 404 errors. Tools like Monitor Backlinks can help you detect and redirect dead links. There’s nothing more frustrating than landing on an error page, that much we can tell you!
Are you ready to put these tactics to the test and take the SEO world by storm? Head over to our blog for more awesome SEO tips and tricks that will help you rank today!

Facebook marketplace is a very well-known platform for personal car buyers, sellers, as well as dealers.
Amazon has been progressive in the collection, storing, as well as analyzing a huge amount of data including product information, customer data, retailers’ data, or even general market trend data. As Amazon is amongst the biggest e-commerce sites, many firms and analysts rely on the scraped data from there to get actionable insights.
The booming e-commerce industry requires sophisticated analytical methods to forecast market trends, learn customer temperament, or get a viable edge over the leading players in the sector. To enhance the analytical strength, you require high-quality and reliable data.
The data is known as alternative data as well as could be taken from different sources. Amongst the key alternative data sources in the e-commerce industry include product information, customer reviews, and geographical data. All the e-commerce sites are a wonderful source for the data elements.
We all know that Amazon is the front-runner in the e-commerce business. Retailers fight very hard to extract data from Amazon. Although, Amazon data scraping is a very hard thing to do! Let’s discuss the key challenges that make Amazon data scraping a tedious job.
Why Scraping Data From Amazon Is A Challenging Job
Before you begin Amazon data scraping, you need to know that a website depresses web scraping in the policy as well as page structure. Because of its consigned interest in defending its data, Amazon has some fundamental anti-scraping measures positioned. This could stop your Amazon web scraper from scraping all the data you want.
In addition, the page structure may or may not vary for different products. It might result in failing your Amazon data scraper code as well as logic. The worst scenario is that you may not even predict this problem springing up as well as may even run in a few network errors as well as unknown replies.
Moreover, captcha problems, as well as IP blocks, maybe a general roadblock. You would feel the requirement to have the database as well as lack of one could be a big problem!
You would also require to deal with exceptions when writing the algorithms for your Amazon web data scraper. This will become useful if you try to avoid problems because of difficult page structures, unusual characters, as well as other problems including vast memory requirements and funny URLs.
Let’s discuss some problems in detail. We should also understand how to resolve them. Optimistically, it will assist you in successfully scraping data from Amazon.
1. Amazon Is Very Smart! It Can Identify Bots As Well As Block The IPs
As Amazon stops web data scraping on the pages, it could easily identify if any action is taken by a web scraper or using a browser through a manual proxy. Most of these styles are recognized by carefully monitoring the browsing agent’s behavior.
For instance, if the URLs are changed repeatedly by query parameters at the regular interval, it is a clear sign of a data scraper going through a page. Thus, it uses captchas as well as IP bans for blocking these bots. As this step is required to protect the integrity and privacy of information, one may still require scraping Amazon product data. To perform that, we have a few workarounds.
Let us observe some of them:
Alter scraper headers for making it look like requests are approaching from the browser as well as not the piece of code.
Encourage random time gaps as well as pauses within the scraper code for breaking the consistency of the page triggers.
Remove query constraints from URLs for removing identifiers link requests together.
Rotate IPs with various proxy servers in case you require to. You may also utilize consumer-grade VPN services using IP rotation abilities.
2. Many Amazon Pages Have Special Page Structures
In case, you have tried to scrape Amazon product descriptions and extract data from Amazon, you could have run into many unidentified response exceptions and errors. It’s because the majority of web scrapers are designed as well as customized for any particular page structure. This is used for following any special page structure, scrape HTML data, as well as collect the required data. Although, if the page structure changes, the data scraper might fail in case it is not well-prepared to deal with exceptions.
Many Amazon products have a lot of pages and attributes about these pages that differ from the standard template. It is usually done to deal with different kinds of products, which may have various features and key attributes that require getting highlighted. For addressing these inconsistencies, you need to write a code to deal with exceptions.
Moreover, your code needs to be resistant. You may do it by including the ‘try-catch’ phrases, which make sure that a code does not fail with the first occurrences of the network errors or time-out errors. As you would be scraping a few particular product attributes, you could design a code so that a web scraper may look for the particular attributes using the tools including ‘string matching’. You may do that after scraping the whole HTML structure for the targeted page.
3. Your Web Scraper Might Not Be Proficient Enough!
Ever got the web scraper, which has been running time to get some thousands of rows? It could be as you haven’t dealt with the speed and efficiency of the algorithms. You may do some fundamental math when designing the algorithms.
Let us observe what you could do for solving the problem! You would always need the number of sellers or products to scrape Amazon data. Using data, you may roughly calculate the total requests you require to send each second for completing your web scraping exercise. When you compute that, your objective is to design a data scraper for meeting this condition!
A single-threaded network block operations would fail in case, you wish to speed up things! Probably, you might want to make multi-threaded data scrapers! It permits CPU to effort in the parallel fashion! This will work on one reply or another when every request takes several seconds for completion. This could provide you nearly 100x of the speed of the original single-threaded web scraper! You will require a well-organized Amazon data scraper to scrape Amazon data because there are a lot of data on the website!
4. A Cloud Platform Is Needed With Other Computational Support!
Any high-performance machine would speed up the procedure for you! This you can avoid burning the sources of your domestic system! To scrape data from Amazon, you may require higher capacity memory sources! You would also require network pipes as well as cores using higher efficiency! A cloud-based platform needs to be able to offer these sources!
You do not need to go into memory problems! In case, you are storing big dictionaries or lists in the memory, you may put extra burdens on the machine sources! We counsel you to change your data for permanent storage as quickly as possible. It will also assist you in speeding up the procedure.
There are many cloud services, which you can utilize at affordable prices. You may get these services using easy steps. This will assist you in avoiding needless system crashes as well as delays in the procedure.
5. Using A Database To Record Information
In case, you extract data from Amazon as well as other e-commerce websites, you would be getting higher data volumes. As the procedure of extraction consumes time and power, we recommend you store data in the database.
Storing every sellers’ or products’ record, which you scrape as the row in the database table. Also, you may use databases for performing operations including basic querying, exports, and presuming your data. It makes the procedure of analyzing, storing, as well as reusing the data suitably and quicker!
Summary
Many analysts and businesses, particularly in the e-commerce and retail sector require Amazon data scraping. They utilize this data for making price comparisons, study market trends for demographics, forecast product sales, review customers’ sentiments or even estimate competition rates. It can be a tedious exercise. In case, you make your own Amazon web scraper, it could be a challenging and time-consuming process.

Many of the best social media management apps include tools that automatically shorten your URLs.
But these built-in tools don’t always give you much control over the process.
Bit.ly—one of the social media marketing tools out there that make work easier
Meet bitly, a free social media marketing tool that shortens URLs and stores them in your own personal database.
With Bitly, you can make any URL shorter or create a URL with a custom slug, such as bit.ly/my-custom-slug.
Within your database, you can give URLs original titles and add tags for better organization. That means you can tag all URLs related to a campaign or promotion so you can find and analyze them easily.
But Bitly offers much more than shortened URLs. This tool also provides basic analytics, so you can understand how each link performed. You can monitor the number of clicks your URLs received each day, and you can track each link’s referrals.
You can see whether social media, email, or SMS campaigns drove clicks with a quick glance.
If QR codes are part of your marketing strategy, you’ll appreciate Bitly’s simple QR code generator. You can create a QR code for any Bitly link, giving your audience another way to connect with your brand.
If you have extra room in your budget, Bitly also offers paid features.
With a paid plan, you can create branded URLs with custom domains, which can improve CTR and help you reach your web traffic goals even more reliably.

But designing infographics takes talent. You can’t just throw one together in a few minutes.
That’s where free social media marketing tool Easel.ly can help.
This free social media tool lets you create sharp-looking infographics without a graphic design degree.

6. Easy Advocacy
When your company or client writes a new blog post or publishes an amazing piece of content, you want to get the word out on social media. Your fellow team members can easily become some of your brand’s biggest supporters.
But first, you have to get them on board.
If you’ve found that emails and Slack threads aren’t doing enough to get the message across, you need easy advocace, a free social media marketing tool. You can keep coworkers and stakeholders informed about new content. And you can make it easy for them to share it, too.
First, set up your distribution list. Then create a campaign by entering a link, title, and suggested copy. Send it to your distribution list, and each person will receive an email prompting them to promote the campaign. The email includes social share buttons and an email link, so promotion takes a single click.
Once you send out the campaign, you can skip manual follow-ups. Your Easy Advocacy dashboard tracks all the key statistics from your campaign automatically.
You can see which members of your distribution list are your brand best advocates and on which social network your campaign has performed best.
7. Feedly
As a social media marketer, you need to keep up with what’s happening in social media, marketing, and beyond.
What’s your audience reading? What’s trending in your industry? What content creation ideas can you glean from what your competitors are publishing?
Feedly, a news aggregation app, lets you make sense of all that noise.
With Feedly, you can create your own customized newsfeed. Add the sources you want to follow, and you can filter out irrelevant content while making sure you don’t miss anything important.
To organize your feed, group relevant sources together in a single feed. That way you can browse all the new posts on a single topic at once. As you read, you can check articles off your list or save important ones to read later.
You can also save articles to a board, which essentially bookmarks them for future reference.
8. Headline Analyzer
It doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced writer or if you’ve been blogging for over a decade. Writing great headlines isn’t easy.
But an excellent headline can result in more clicks, which can increase web traffic and reach on social media. That means taking your headline game up a notch can give your brand a critical boost.
With CoSchedule’s Headline analizer tool, you can find out where your headline shines and where it could use some work.
Type your headline into the tool, and you’ll get a score and previews of how your headline is likely to look.
Here’s how this free tool scores your headline:
Word Balance: An analysis of the common, uncommon, emotional, and power words you’ve used
Characters: The number of characters in your headline, including measurement of how close you are to the optimal length
Words: The number of words in your headline, including tips for shortening or lengthening as necessary
First and Last: A spotlight on the first and last three words of your headline, which tend to get the most attention
Keywords: A review of the common search terms that appear in your headline
If your headline produces a green score, you’re good to go.
If it’s yellow or red, follow the tips to improve your headline and get more eyes on your social media post.
9. Loom
You can’t always say everything in your social media captions, especially if you’re limited to 280 characters. Ever want to dash off a quick message without having to write it all down? Or create a brief how-to video that explains it all?
Loom lets you share and record your screen quickly and easily.
For a nice personal touch, you can include a small video of you in the corner, explaining the screen share. Or you can record just your voice or the screen only.
Just press record, say your message, and share it with your audience.
When you’re done with the video, you can click to share to Facebook or Twitter immediately or copy the link so you can paste it into a schudule social media post.
Incredibly easy to use, Loom makes these video messages quick and efficient.
10. Twitter Report Card
You work hard to implement a solid Twitter strategy. You carefully write your 280 characters, use strategically selected hashtags, and curate super-targeted Twitter lists. How’s that working out for you?
If you aren’t sure how your performance compares to your closest competitors, Agorapulse’s Twitter report card can help.
Like Barometer, Twitter Report Card compares your performance to industry averages.
Unlike Barometer, Twitter Report Card lets you choose who to measure your account against.
After connecting your Twitter profile to the tool, add a few competitors. Then check to see how you compare in terms of audience, publishing, and conversion metrics. This free social marketing tool compares stats like:

For technical SEO practitioners and site developers, news from Google I/O
The announcements made by the Chrome team on the availability of technologies and extensions to their current products in the “What’s new for The Web Platform” presentation have a lot of value for technical SEO practitioners and site developers alike.
The Google Chrome Team made announcements on the availability of technologies in a session titled. “What’s new for The Web Platform” at Google I/O last week. It’s no surprise that the session’s two main speakers, Ben Galbraith and Dion Almaer, co-wrote an early book about AJAX and Web 2.0.
The Web Platform is made up of open web technologies that allow the web to act as a virtual operating system enabling browsers to deliver application-like experiences. As users have grown to expect from Google and others. Other key seminars, such as the “What’s new in Web Vitals” session, have been covered. We’ll go through key aspects from any session that pertains to SEO development.
Chromium
As a top Web browser, Google’s Chromium is more powerful than Chrome alone. It also runs Microsoft Edge and other programmes. Chrome’s browser market share lead over competitors is now comparable to Google Search’s lead over competitors. Internet Explorer is being phased out by Microsoft. Chrome has become the primary browser for which developers write code, with a fallback for unsupported features or a focus on technologies that are also supported by Safari and Firefox.
Safari is the only rival browser that isn’t in the single digits in terms of user market share, thanks to WebKit, which powers iOS’s in-app WebView. It’s worth noting that Google’s most recent development achievements, which were disclosed at Google I/O, coincide with unparalleled rises in browsing activity.
Coronavirus multi-market study (GlobalWebIndex) predicts strong growth in July 2020, a key milestone.
Time spent on cell phones has increased by 70%.
Laptop users spend 47% more time on them.
On average, people spend 33% more time on their computers or desktops.
New security features
Security.
The first announcement from the Chrome team is a new security sandbox feature that isolates inline frame instances. That is, cross-site iframe> material embedded within a website, such as a YouTube widget, now operates as a distinct process from the process that handles the embedding page itself. Through V8 to Chrome, the isolation security architecture is meant to prevent data leakage from heart bleed and malicious JavaScript.
Cookies.
Google also announced that the previously disclosed change to its default cookie handling behaviour for third-party website access is now available in Firefox. After previously being available only in Chrome and Edge. Unless you don’t access third-party cookies or provide third-party websites access to your own site’s cookies. If you haven’t heard about SameSite cookie requirements for operational third-party cookie access. Now is the time to find out. The browser handling behaviour is governed by SameSite directives.
APIs.
Given the widespread usage of third-party cookies, the Chrome Team unveiled a new “family of APIs” including federated login, tailored advertisements, and conversion tracking that can enable alternative paths for use cases that previously required the usage of a third-party cookie. For example, the “Attribution Reporting” API proposal would shift conversion monitoring from cookies monitoring visitors across websites to the browser itself.
Tracking prevention.
Transmissions from the Attribution Reporting API contain time delays and noise to prevent trackers from linking together personally identifying data with conversion event timing. Making it difficult for anyone to successfully trace specific users and conversions that way. The API, along with a few other APIs, are accessible in origin trials. Which you may use to test with your own website before they go live.
New progressive web app features
Context menu and badges.
Progressive web apps now allow you to develop “shortcuts” that expose “fast actions” as context menu items (right-click or two-finger tap) with supporting operating systems such as Android, Chrome OS, Windows, and macOS once they’ve been installed with an icon on home screens and desktops. A new Badging API also allows you to add a notification number to your app’s icon.
Declarative Link Capturing.
The origin trial version of a proposed “Decorative Link Capturing” API will be available soon. The proposed API allows links from outside the PWA context to open the PWA. Similar to how clicking a link to a YouTube video URL opens an installed YouTube app. Rather than a browser tab with the YouTube website. This is similar to deep-linking but in an app context.
The manifest file.
Chrome on desktop and Android web app installation user interfaces are receiving snazzy new dialogues and information panels to provide users more information and guidance to make the process go more smoothly. Custom text and graphics can be specified in the manifest file of a web app by developers.
Multi-Screen Window Placement API.
This new API allows progressive web programmes to find and adjust the location of the window on all connected monitors. This functionality is said to be useful for web-based presentations and video conferencing. These trends, once again, are in line with the substantial increases in browsing activity that will begin in 2020.
File System Access API.
Finally, online programmes now have access to the user’s file system. What could possibly go wrong? You’ll be able to deal with existing files and save state to disc using your app. A new File Handling API allows you to register your web app as a file type handler. Allowing users to open files and have them handled by your web app, exactly like a native app. Later this year, an experimental release will be available.
At least theoretically, the Web Platform is quickly becoming the “web as operating system,” with application-like experiences as envisioned. Expect early encounters to be a little strange, with a steep developer learning curve and a lot of effort to put in place. However, these are exciting times for web developers who want to experiment with cutting-edge web technologies.
Web Assembly news
Web Assembly (Wasm) promises to compile code into binary executables that can be run in JavaScript engines. Performance difficulties, one of the most common concerns, maybe improved now that V8 supports contemporary CPUs with SIMD instructions for better multimedia performance.
Wasm’s best feature is that it allows you to develop web apps in nearly any language, not just JavaScript, by compiling down to the binary specification. There are some notable Rust projects, for example. It builds to JavaScript binaries that can be run in current browsers. Knowing what you’re limited to when using a language like Rust. On the other hand, is crucial for staying within the Wasm standard.
Core Web Vitals
The most significant Core Web Vitals announcement is that performance gains from enhancing web vitals will benefit both mobile and desktop rankings later this year. It was always strange to believe that damaged rankings would simply apply to mobile searches, given that PC users often surf under sporadic network conditions.
Rankings.
We’ve gotten some clarification on lab test results. The rankings will be adjusted based on the data collected in the field. Lighthouse is “calibrated to be indicative of a user in your high percentiles,” which is good news. That means that if you get good lab results, users in the field will, nine times out of ten, send Google even better results for your User Experience ranking factor adjustment.
Background images.
It’s been difficult to figure out what your Largest Contentful Paint element is. Lighthouse will soon give you a thumbnail and will be updated for better accuracy. When dealing with backgrounds and carousel pictures, thankfully.
Layout shifting.
Changes to how Cumulative Layout Shift is calculated are another nagging issue that is being addressed. It was the case that the shifting accumulated during the course of the page browsing session. Because some users load and leave while others explore and scroll up and down. The score did not indicate the level of precision required to account for a change in your rankings as a result. Google now takes a 5-second sample and adds it up to get the highest shift score.
Content visibility.
With the value set to auto, the relatively new content-visibility CSS attribute can now be used to boost performance ratings. This allows the browser to forego rendering the contents of that element if it isn’t currently visible in the user’s display. Resulting in greater performance when compared to the quantity of material in those elements.
Prerendering.
While several browsers have implemented prerendering capabilities, allowing developers to signal URLs in, say, your top navigation to be stored in the browser cache for quick loading on the click, there are some issues with cross-site security, multimedia that may suddenly playback, and even unintentionally logging users out of authentication. Later this year, Google expects to release an updated prerendering API.
Why we care
There are a number of things to look forward to from Google as it expands browser and API support for Web Platform technologies. Many of these technologies are already available, and several of these announcements state that more will be accessible this year. All of the updates discussed here will either help you improve your rankings or give you new methods to engage your site’s visitors.
