GUERO — summer prompts 🍋
Tumblr media
A/N: yeah there’s no way you thought I wouldn’t right? I have a type 🤫 & since I’m divorced from angel and SICK of EZ’s ass (the way they scrambled his character is not it) + have a slight crush on Hank I basically just decided to take my pick and I don’t think Guero’s a bad choice—hopefully he doesn’t fuck that up lol. Listen to me being delusional but you kinda have to be even if it’s just a little bit when writing no?
WARNINGS: nothing but short fluff for my new man — with a hint of chaos!
PROMPTS from this list & this one too: 1.) “I’m so hot.” “Loving the confidence.” “Shut up.” + 2.) Ice cream dates.
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ ༊*·˚ ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ ༊*·˚ ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ ༊*·˚ ˏˋ°•*⁀
It’s early when Guero almost jumps out of your shared bed. He’s the type of man that can sleep through anything if you let him and it takes minutes for his eyes to adjust to the dim bedroom. He almost flinches when his brown hues settle on the thin gold curtains, specs of light threatening to fully break through with their beams from the outside.
He yawns, stretching his long ink covered limbs above his head, glancing to his left to notice that you’re not there like you should be. A frown erupts between his brows, his leg brushing over the sheets to feel they’re cool—almost to the point it feels damp?
Instantly he’s pushing himself into a sitting position, stuffing the palms of his large hands into his eye sockets to push the grogginess away. Giving himself a few moments, he glances at the fancy new modern alarm clock, which happened to be a careless purchase on your part, that’s illuminated in white, blurting that it’s 6:51AM.
You were always a early riser but not this damn early. Now he’s in a search of you, feet shuffling against the dark wooden floor as he tosses the bedroom door back. The hallway is also dim as he begins to make his way down by the bathroom on his left-hand side.
It’s not like it takes him long to find you, eyeing the top part of the fridge wide open, the front of it blocking the top half of you. You don’t notice him as he squeezes his way around to stand behind you, arms crossed, a smirk on his lips as you stand on your tippy toes, face buried into the freezer.
“I’m so hot.” He hears you say, voice muffled while he leans against the counter that contains the kitchen sink.
“I’m loving the confidence.”
The way his voice booms, makes you smack your head against the top of the freezer, making him snort as you settle back onto your feet, now holding your head as you glare at the taller man.
“Shut up,” you rubbed at the back of your head, “the hell are you doing sneaking up on me? sounding like Morgan freeman and shit?”
Guero lightly laughs, “my apologies babe. I thought you said you liked my morning voice?”
“Not when it’s quiet and I’m trying to have some peace.”
“…In the freezer?” Guero questioned with a frown on his face, as he briefly runs a hand through his bed-hair.
You huff, turning back around to stick your head back into the freezer, hands feeling around the space until you find exactly what you need.
Guero’s rushing over to you now, reaching to snatch the carton of ice cream that you just plucked the top off of, “oh hell no,” he responds as it’s your turn to frown at him.
Immediately you’re putting your back to the tatted man, his frame colliding with yours as you scuffle over the ice cream carton, “get your own!”
“What do you mean? That is mine! You don’t even like peanuts in your hot fudge sundaes.”
You didn’t even rock with sundaes like that in the first place to be honest…but the point still stands.
“Mind your business, Guero.”
“Sorry, last I checked, You are my business.” Guero argued as you peered up at him.
Normally that would make you weak in the knees but at this current moment, in your aggravation? It wasn’t going to fly. Smiling evilly at the man, you stuck your tongue out and swiped it right across the top of the ice cream, letting out a sigh in content as Guero scrunched up his nose.
Now here he was, waking up at the crack of ass, in search of his loving partner of two years that moved with him to santo padre in this updated mobile home, thanks to her contractor dad who had his own business and did plenty work around the golf course in the area, wondering if their well-being was in tact since they had a common case of insomnia from time to time, just to stand here now; with them disrespecting him by licking his favorite ice cream (and not off his body).
“Oh, you’re done for now.” Guero voiced as the both you were now in a battle for the ice cream.
Laughing to yourself, you went to do the same action again but the smack of the carton from your hands was almost like slow motion. Before you could even scrabble to attempt to save the ice cream, it toppled straight to the floor with a loud splat. A brief silence filled the small home as the both of you stared at each other, Guero quirking up a brow, tatted thin but muscular arms raised, quietly asking with his facial expression, what you’re gonna do about it now.
With your hands around his neck and him swinging you around, it was about to turn into WWE up in this bitch. The round only lasted for maybe about ten minutes, the both of you playfully wrestling and talking shit to each other as you stumbled into the living room.
Your arms had Guero’s tree sized ass in a headlock as you yelled, “why would you do that when you know I’m over here sweating my behind off?!”
“One, you didn’t ask and two, just turn the fucken AC on then!” Guero yelled back, arms locking around your waist as he used his weight to shove you onto the floor, but not without using one of his hands to protect the back of your head.
We didn’t need another repeat of the accidental concussion he gave you the last time the both of you wrestled.
“You’re the one who said we need to start saving money, paying $643 a month for just the mortgage alone with both of our shitty salaries and the ceiling fans weren’t doing shit!” You wrapped your legs around his hips while he gripped your wrists back over your head to keep from slapping him.
This was a old but still a fresh story, considering the both of you debated over this maybe two weeks ago? Before the both of you fell into the same routine of trying to make ends meet. The both of you were still young in your mid-to late twenties and didn’t live together back in Tucson but decided to when it came to this new destination.
Guero was grateful that you were locked in with this relationship, since he’s never had a serious partnership before you and he wasn’t down to do long-distance but he also really wasn’t down to fall in love with anybody else either. Back in Arizona you were in school working some shitty minimum wage job at a home improvement store, while he tended to a declining club with his late father…so you do the math.
Now in Santo padre, it was supposed to be a fresh start and money wasn’t discussed much between you two back then since the both of you like to keep it to yourselves. That quickly changed now living together, since it unofficially put a stamp on the potential of making this a forever thing. You were now involved in a unpaid internship while attempting to do some remote part-time job for income and Guero? Let’s just say the new distribution of a deadly thing that starts with the letter “F” was worth something nice!
You didn’t need to know the details though.
“I don’t mind you a little sweaty,” Guero shrugged, thinking about it, while you rolled your eyes.
“Ew, get off me you pig! You’re only making this worse.”
“For you maybe, not for me.” He responds with a wink, “I kinda like this position too.”
While he says so, you brought your knees to your chest, just to push your toes right into Guero’s gut, knocking the wind out of him as he crumpled to the side.
“That…was…not…cool.” He wheezed, holding his belly.
“Just like you smacking that ice cream from my hands. Fair is fair.” You folded your arms, rolling your head back up to stare at the ceiling with a sigh.
Guero watched the profile of you, feeling the energy radiating off you. He wasn’t completely clueless, he knew things were tougher out here for the both of you, trying to find your footing and him trying to avenge his father’s death and live up to his legacy but it always felt good to know that you had each other at the end of the day.
He shuffled closer to you, reaching out a hand to grip yours as he placed a kiss to the back of your hand. Soon he got to his feet, briefly leaving your side, then chuckled to himself at the fallen ice cream on the floor before looking into the freezer himself.
You had your eyes closed, actually liking how cooler it felt on the floor than in your bed. That nap wouldn’t last long with Guero lightly kicking your foot with his own to get your attention.
A nudge of his head made you eye him in curiosity, “Get your pretty ass up here, we’re going on a ice cream date.”
Slowly sitting up with a groan you eyed the other carton Guero was now holding in his hands. A laugh bubbled out your lips as you held one hand out for Guero to easily pull you up with one arm to your feet.
He unlocked the front door to the partial screened in porch, letting you lead the way as you let out another sigh of contentment as a breeze greeted your skin. Plopping down on the couch, you awaited for Guero to follow as he sat right beside you. Tossing your thigh over his, he pulled the top off the carton, stuck the scooper into the container and handed it right over to you.
Smiling to yourself, Guero shook his head at your eagerness as you went to work on getting a good scoop of neapolitan ice cream, leaving him to grip your neck so that he could place a kiss to the back of your once sore head.
Together the both of you sat side by side, watching the orange sunrise above the lake up ahead. A golf cart sputtered by with a elderly couple who happened to be fussing at each other as they made their way by the front of the home.
Originally Guero didn’t want to live in some retiree spot that you picked out but stopped bad-mouthing it after learning that your late firefighter mother spent her remaining months here. He also came to sorta like it, enjoying the quiet (especially at the late hour after hanging out with a bunch of rowdy brothers) and company of you after a few weeks.
“Morning!” The man greeted the two of you on his way by but not without making a coo-coo motion with his other hand towards his wife.
Which earned him a nice slap to his shoulder as the both of you waved at the couple, “I can still see you, AL! I’m not blind.”
“Oh sorry, Martha honey,” The man playfully grimaced at you two which earned him a laugh before he whispered, “I thought the glaucoma was beginning to set in.”
Guero snorted at the man, “have a good one,” as the couple carried on down the path to their daily outing.
“That’s gonna be us in forty years.” You stated after pulling the scooper from your lips, resting your head against Guero’s shoulder.
The man hummed, “you think so?”
“You don’t?”
He shrugged, “I’ll look sexier.”
“Of course you will.” You rolled your eyes with a laugh as you handed the scooper over to share.
“Wherever you go, I’ll go.”
“Likewise, even if you’re a idiot who wastes ice cream when it’s ninety degrees inside.” You smirked up at Guero who scoffed.
Guero placed the multi-flavored dessert into his mouth for breakfast and declared, “this shit is trash and nowhere near my hot fudge sundae.”
“More for me!” You reached for the carton but Guero blocked you from doing so with his shoulder.
Scowling Guero shook his head at you, “nope you’re gonna wait your turn since you ruined mine.”
“Be for real, That’s your problem, you don’t ever want to share. You’re being a trash date right now and won’t get another one.”
Guero tossed his head back in laughter, mouth full of ice cream as he talked, “yeah, right! What’s mine is yours and you’re mine.”
“Exactly, so give me my ice cream.”
“What?” He was confused by your logic.
Collapsing back against the couch dramatically, hand over your forehead and eyes closed you waited for Guero to break. It was quiet with the wind rustling it’s way through the leaves in the trees and the birds chirping through the summer morning air.
Cracking a eye open, Guero laughed at you.
“You’d be the perfect actor in a soap opera, you know?”
“And you’d be the perfect thief.”
“…takes one to know one,” Guero bit back as he placed another scoop into his mouth.
He was making you sick!
“Give it to me,” you side eyed the man, “you just said it was garbage.”
“Doesn’t mean I completely hate it but it’s not better than my sundae.” He mocked just to fall short as you latched onto his nipple and twisted.
Guero yelped, dropping the scooper into the carton with a hiss and abruptly handed it over. Grinning you happily welcomed the carton back into your hands as Guero rubbed at his pec.
“I cannot believe you just squeezed the shit out of my tit like that! Why you gotta be so violent for?”
As if he didn’t start it by breaking the best and only tower fan in the house, forcing them to settle with the mediocre ceiling fan in their bedroom.
“It’s the only way you’ll listen apparently.” You swung your feet as you licked at the scooper.
Guero winced, “fuck. Who am I gonna marry?”
Your eyes snapped to Guero’s then who stared intently at you.
“Marry?”
“Yeah, I said that.” The man dipped his head confidently before saying, “ One day though, only if you want to that is.”
There goes those butterflies with the birds singing to the beat of your heart at his words. Yeah you were being gushy right now but you couldn’t help how Guero Bardales made you feel.
“If you’re gonna kiss me, based on the look in your eye right now, can you maybe twist too so that way I’ll be more prepared and confirm if I’m with it or not?”
“You kinky asshole, you’re so unserious.” You were ready to flick the ice cream right at Guero’s gorgeous face.
He laughed, “what? I’m giving consent but I’m definitely serious about marriage down the line, I won’t lie about that baby.”
“Mhm.” You nodded leaning over for Guero to peck his plump lips with yours.
Before you could go back to your ice cream, he held your face in place—almost studying every surface of it adoringly. It was still early and you didn’t physically feel your greatest or put together for the day yet, so you sorta hated the fact that Guero was being this intimate right now.
“I love you more than anything, you know?”
You nodded without hesitation, “And I love you.”
He smiled at you, cupping your face, which you turned to peck the palm of his hand, giving him equally a loving smile.

I’m not going to say anything to spoil Mayans for anyone who hasn’t been watching it, but I really just need to say that so far, after every episode my reaction is always one of these gifs below:

I need Miguel to stop being so fucking stubborn and get to know Felipe. And that scene where he saw the pic of Felipe, Angel, and EZ at the beach and added his baby pic to it gave me some kind of hope. I also need Felipe to sit Angel and EZ down and tell them the truth.

I would like a request for
Filth + Angel
“We’re just....friends.” “friends don’t do this type of shit!”
Tumblr media
You squeezed your eyes shut as Angel thrust up and deep into you. You dug your fingernails into his shoulders, continuing to ride him. Sweat stuck to your bodies. The bed bounced off the wall. The stench of sex was heavy in the air as you both chased pleasure.
Angel’s face was buried in your breasts, his bearded lips mouthing at your nipples as you pulled at his hair. He hissed and bit you back in retaliation. You smiled at the action because it only served to make you wetter.
A shrill ringing cut through the moment, pulling your focus. Your phone was lying face up on the nightstand, the name that appeared on the screen making you roll your eyes.
“I need to get that.” You said between breaths, slowing your hips.
“It can wait.” Angel mumbled from between your breasts.
“It’s the third time she’s called. Something could be wrong.” You insisted, stopping your movements all together as you leaned over to retrieve the still ringing device.
Angel rolled his eyes and sighed, signaling he was annoyed with your choice. You rolled your eyes back, mouthing “It won’t take long”.
“Hello?” You answered, trying hard not to sound out of breath or as if you still had a dick still very much inside of you.
“Finally! I’ve been calling you.” Came the other voice on the line.
“Sorry Mom, I was with a friend. Didn’t hear the phone.” You hastily explained, ignoring the way Angel’s face scrunched up at your words.
“You sound like you’ve been running. Everything okay?”
“No, yeah everything is fine. Just working out.” You fibbed again, this time acknowledging Angel’s scoff. You mimed for him to be quiet, shaking your head.
“Oh…at ten o’clock at night?” She pressed, doubt creeping into her tone.
Angel must’ve heard her because he raised his brows, amused at your response and eager to hear what you’d say.
“Is everything alright, Mom? I’m a little busy at the moment.”
You tried to keep the annoyance out of your voice. But between her curiosity and Angel’s wandering hands, you were very close to losing your shit. One way or the other.
“I was just calling to check on you. Your father and I hadn’t heard from you in a few days.” Your mother explained, her words taking on a judgmental lilt.
You sighed, slapping away Angel’s hands on your breasts as you readjusted the phone. “I’ll call first thing in the morning, okay?”
“I guess.” She retorted in that motherly way that let you know she didn’t like being rushed off the phone.
“Okay, love you.”
“Love you too, honey.”
And with that, the call was ended.
You flung the phone across the room, hearing it land in a pile of Angel’s clothes in the corner. You stared down at him, meeting his mischievous gaze. He licked his lips, an eyebrow raised in a silent question.
“So I’m a friend, huh?” He asked, hands now back to exploring your curves.
“Yeah.” You replied simply, letting your arms encircle his neck.
“Just friends?” He probed again, mouth gliding up your neck.
You opened yourself up to him as the feel of him came rushing back to you, your hips moving on their own.
“We’re just…friends.” You parroted back, voice coated with reignited lust.
Angel’s teeth nipped at the underside of your chin as his hips rose off the bed and into you. You yelped when he forced your lower body down, unwilling to let you move or detach from him.
“Friends don’t do this type of shit.” He growled before slamming back into you.
Your entire body twisted around him as every nerve caught fire. You could only hold on as he flipped you onto your back and began fucking you with wild abandon. You trailed your nails down his back, feeling every penetrating thrust from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. Your body slid across the mattress with every push of his hips, your head practically hanging off the edge of it. He manipulated every part of you. Each gesture was deliberate, but it felt like sheer chaos to your overstimulated body. He fucked you raw. Fucked you until you begged him to stop, your orgasm having come and gone. You were at his unforgiving mercy. And it was more than worth it.
Finally, when he felt he’d proved his point and filled you with enough cum to have it slipping from your depths, he collapsed beside you.
“Still just a friend?” He asked between breaths, a hint of a prideful smirk on his lips.
You rolled into his side, nuzzling his neck before biting at his ear lobe.
“How about best friends?” You teased, laughing when he playfully slapped your ass.
From then on, Angel made it his mission to prove he was more than just your friend.

My Final Thoughts on Mayans No Spoilers
So boom...I finally finished Mayans MC last week. I know I'm late. I wanted to binge the last two episodes together and wanted to find the right time to...but it feels so surreal!
I legit stumbled upon that show a few years ago through tumblr because I had a random thought about what Edward James Olmos was up to at the moment. Any new projects? Did he retire? Maybe I was watching a Miami Vice rerun with my dad or that episode of Portlandia he cameo'd on. Either way, instead of googling that man like a normal person, I searched him on tumblr and found screen grabs of him and these two fine ass men who were playing his sons in this ongoing tv show called Mayans MC.
I didn't even think about looking into the show until I found out it was related to SOA (I was just happy EJO was still out there working) and I had a crush on Jax when that show was out even though I barely watched it, so I was like "lemme give this one a try".
Two seasons was already out by the time I jumped on the band wagon, so I binged and fell in love. It caused me to meet great people on this platform and interact about our shared interests instead of just reblogging and liking content like I did with any of my other fandoms. It allowed me to open up and create my own content. It exemplified my admiration for motorcycles. And quite frankly I was getting bored of having no active celebrity to be infatuated over. All in all, the Mayans fandom is really special to me.
So yeah, it feels surreal. THE ENDING of it all feels surreal. all I'm gonna say about it is that I'm not dissatisfied by how Elgin tied it up. I still wish it went differently and think that it could have and still been realistic with other pathways, but maybe because my expectations were low, I thought that how it ended wasn't really all that bad. To me, it made sense given the path we knew Elgin chose to go down and he surprisingly managed to tie up a lot more loose ends than I expected. Not all of them and some of the ones he did tie up were, imo, rushed, but again, I was expecting every plot but the main one to be completely ignored and abandoned, so I was pleasantly surprised.

terms & conditions — ANGEL REYES x OC/READER x CANE TEJADA
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N; I'm actually glad that this sat in my drafts waiting to be written (thanks to the poll I put out!) just in time for the season premiere-which isn't being talked too much about as of yet-but I get it! So I gained some more inspo for this piece along with the sudden crush I’ve developed on Woody’s character from power book II—ghost (which I’m also currently watching!) + this song has also been on repeat since I first heard it. It’s fitting and inspired this so let’s get into it!
*GIF BELONGS TO THEIR RIGHTFUL OWNER!*
WARNINGS/DISCLAIMER: language + I am in no way shape or form a therapist! + Angel being a bit of a d!ck :)
┊˚ ̥۪͙۪◌ ﹋﹋┊˚ ̥۪͙۪◌ ﹋﹋┊˚ ̥۪͙۪◌ ┊˚ ̥۪͙۪◌ ﹋﹋┊˚ ̥۪͙۪◌ ﹋
"Solay it's great to meet you, thank you for coming." The therapist greeted the mahogany haired woman at the door, lightly shaking her hand.
Solay smiled at the bob-wearing lady, shifting her tote bag, which looked expensive, down to her wrist as she fully entered the sunlit room. Her doe eyes briefly glanced at Angel who now sat with his arms crossed in a chair, a scowl written on his face as his eyes almost drank her in.
"Angel." Solay muttered, placing her bag to the side of her as she took the space in the middle of the empty red couch.
Angel ran his tongue over his front teeth, huffing but felt the therapist sending him a warning glance. Almost as if to say, 'We talked about this.'
He breathed, rolling his head back to face Solay who was now putting her phone on vibrate before tossing it back into her bag, "What's going on, Solay?"
"It's Wednesday so I’m pretty busy," she was vague with her words but attempting to be cordial as she added, "How's Mavy?"
"Growing everyday," Angel answered and couldn't help but to throw in, "How's your rebound doin'? Don't think I didn't see him drop you off in that flashy ass range rover, was my son with ‘em in the backseat?"
Solay's doe eyes immediately went into slits as she let out a breath of laughter. She was barely five minutes in the room with her ex-husband and here he was worrying about who she was involved with by attempting to fuck up her energy. He should be lucky that she even showed her face! She vowed at this first session that she would not allow Angel to continue disrespecting her like he loved to do. The only reason she was here was for their five year old son Xavier, to learn better co-parenting methods...and perhaps for a professional to see that she wasn't crazy for putting up boundaries after everything they've been through.
"Okay, let's reel it in." Dr. Michelle Othman rolled her hands, gaining the attention of the two adults in front of her.
The glare did not leave Angel's face as he dragged his eyes back to the short haired woman who sat at her desk.
"Let's discuss that tension," Dr. Michelle started, "As soon as you entered the room, Solay, you were very curt with your words on greeting Angel, why is that?”
Solay inhaled, "It's never hugs and kisses when we're in each other's space. Sure I would like for it be that way—it's like that with my parents who are divorced, they're friendly but I started off just fine until Angel had to go into attack mode."
Angel felt his pressure beginning to rise since Solay liked to commonly relate her parents to their situation…when clearly this was a very different relationship.
"I didn't attack you, I simply asked if you're leaving my son alone with some strange man." Angel stated, "And I have concerns about that, as a father, it's my right."
"Of course you do but you didn't seem to be too worried when you had our son around during your secret meet-ups with Adelita, hm?" Solay pointed out, strangely calm.
Yet it still felt tit for tat.
"We were seperated when Luisa and I started messing around."
As if that makes it alright!
"Not legally and still very much married. Just for you to sleep with her and a couple of days later we're back together like nothing even happened...like I wouldn't find out." Solay told.
Angel scratched at his brow at that, he knew how it sounded but couldn't say much to defend that. He wasn't sure if he could so he just looked away at Dr. Michelle, who was patient and watchful.
"Angel tells me you two were married for some time."
Solay uttered, “Seven years."
"What made you want to get married?"
"I thought I found my person. We were good together, fun together, friends even.” Solay seemed to be in a daze as she talked, “ I always belived that you have to have a friendship as a foundation before anything and although we were completely messy from the start, meaning intimate before we ever became friends—we were always backwards in everything we did—but I enjoyed being around him. I enjoyed being happy with him, laughing with him. Angel made my heart happy at that time and I always knew he wanted a family and I started picturing what that would be like and feel like with him. then i got the chance to realize…I was happier without him." Solay informed the therapist who hummed at this information.
Angel spoke up, "I wasn't sure i even wanted to be married and not because of Solay. She's a great woman no doubt but I always had doubts of not being good enough to be anybody's husband or father. I was scared shitless but Solay always had a way of uplifting me and making me believe we could do anything we wanted together. That also quickly turned into being blamed for the littlest things and I'm not talking about the cheating. I’ll take responsibility for that part.”
Solay nodded, "Yeah he's right. After the first time Angel cheated on me with some blonde bartender, I became iritated by everything he did and constanly being in his space knowing what he had done, wasn't good for me, i knew i had to leave so I could breathe again. I left to my own condo that I was still living in and considered not renewing the lease. Then I found out I was pregnant and that completely changed everything."
Dr. Michelle nodded at all of this, occasionally writing something down on her notepad. "There's so much to unpack here. Could it be that the both of you had these false ideas of what marriage was supposed to look like because of your upbringing? I'm already aware of the infidelity that was in Angel's parents’ marriage but what was your parents' marriage like Solay, if you don't mind me asking?"
Solay sighed, "They tried to never argue in front of my older sister and I but that didn't mean we couldn't hear it at night when they thought we went to bed. My dad was a borderline alcoholic and always stressed about finances but he did a good job at hiding his worries, yet that didn't mean he didn't take it out on my mom. He can get very loud and apparently verbally abusive when he drank towards my mom. What they showed from the beginning seemed like perserverance …when it was really settling. I knew they were happier when they were younger but they ended up getting a divorce when I was in my early twenties."
"Was it a difficult divorce?"
"Surprisingly no? They seemed thrilled to be doing it because they came to a clear understanding of what they needed from each other.”
"Is that what you want from Angel?"
"One hundred percent but I'm not sure when or if we're gonna get there. There's mountains of pain and anger between us both but I want to get somewhere for the sake of our son." Solay tells Angel's therapist.
The woman quirks up a smile, "that's what I'm here for, for guidance but I want you to also acknowledge that you have to want this for yourself as well and not just your son."
"I don't want to do what my parents did, although it almost seems inevitable when life is a cycle right? I don't want to hide the reality of why his parents aren't getting along and can't co-exist because I don't know what that's doing to him mentally. Sure he's only five but I want us to have a healthy and honest mindset so we can raise him as such."
"Angel do you hear what Solay is saying?"
"Yeah, she's not the only one who doesn't want to fuck up their kid." Angel rubbed at his beard in thought.
Dr. Michelle said, "Then we all need to work on the both of you first so you can both do your best in raising Xavier better. Are you two commited in doing so?"
Commitment was almost taboo for Angel Reyes so Solay wasn’t so sure, it was shocking for her to even be aware that Angel decided to seek out therapy in the first place! Yet they were both here, which is the first step, allegedly.
"You're Angel's therapist, so how long do you predict I need to be in his sessions?"
DR. Michelle analyzed Solay for a brief moment before saying, "Believe it or not, you left a big impact on Angel's life as a husband and father so I can not simply provide you with a timeline. This takes work."
"I receive that, I'm not afraid of doing the work." Solay affirms, "I just wanted an estimate on how long this will last until it doesn't matter anymore."
"What do you mean by that?" Angel asked, brows furrowing.
Solay clasped her hands into her lap, slightly raising them as she talked, "I don't know. It's like you're trying to show a new and improved side of you but I still know the bad parts."
"Because you like pointing the finger and always putting the blame on me! Like you can’t accept that I’m happy!”
"Angel," Dr. Michelle warned at the raised volume in his voice, "Solay, Angel tells me the both of you recently got into a disagreement a week ago. Could this be what you're referring to?"
"I guess so yeah," Solay raised her shoulders and stared down at her hands for a moment, "It's just funny or probably pick me of me to think I gave Angel what he dreamed of, having a family and a home but the moment another woman caught his eye...the minute he found out that Mavy was still alive and Adelita was back in town, his perspective completely changed. What made that family different from I gave?"
"What?" Angel exasperated leaning his elbows into his knees now, "there's no comparison between what I have with you and Xavier and Luisa and Maverick."
"You may not think so but that's how it feels."
"Why do you feel that way?" Dr. Michelle pushed.
Solay swallowed the thickness in her throat, "that argument that happened a week ago. I asked Angel if he can take Xavier for me while I underwent a procedure. My mom was in town and would be tending to me so I thought it would be best. Angel came to pick him up Thursday evening, I went to my procedure that Friday morning and Angel brought Xavier back that same night because he, Luisa, and Mavy were going to some carnival for the weekend.”
Solay was in and out of sleep the whole day in her bedroom and her mother tried her hardest to keep her out of it but she soon learned what Angel had done. To say she was livid would be a understatement but thankfully she had her mom there to calm her down and help out, who did the honors of giving Angel a piece of her mind before she slammed the door in his face.
“What was this procedure?”
“I honestly thought it was a boob-job,” Angel interrupts before Solay could say a thing, which made both women cut their eyes at him, “I mean I wouldn’t be mad at you for it.”
Solay shook her head in aggravation while the therapist kept her face stoic.
“Why are you so comfortable speaking on a body that isn’t yours?” Solay questioned.
‘It used to be,’ Angel thought but knew not to let that slip through his lips.
Angel raised his hands from his spot on the chair, “I’m not! I never said you needed that shit anyways, I loved your itty bitties—
“Angel, enough.” Dr. Michelle scolded, “Let Solay finish. I told you at the start of inviting Solay here is for us to see her perspective and get to know her a bit so that we can come to a common ground in your relationship. Now Solay, please continue.”
Angel tried not to roll his eyes. This was his therapist after all and sure he knew what this session was about since it took courage to ask Solay to be here and felt like forever for her to agree. It was all about listening and shit but he didn’t like the picture that was being painted.
Solay sighed with her eyes closed, “I went for a biopsy on my ovaries. So no it wasn’t a boob job or some spa day or walk in the park like you thought, Angel. It was serious and again, Xavy and I got pushed to the side: Second fiddle.”
Sometimes she wondered if it had to do with Xavier being hearing impaired. Did Angel not want to be bothered enough to include their child on his new family outings? She thought about bringing it up but she also knew it wasn’t right to think that when Angel did take up the time learning sign language (in his own way) to communicate with their child. Everyone on his side of the family did and although it was a little shaky for him more so than Solay, he did try… however it didn’t erase the fact that Xavier seemed to be excluded majority of the time.
So she kept it to herself.
Dr. Michelle allowed the weight of silence to be felt. She motioned for the tissues on the coffee table for Solay—if needed but the woman just hugged herself, making the therapist lightly scribble down some more notes at this.
Angel was full on frowning now, “Biopsy…ain’t that for diagnosing something?”
“Cancer, Angel. They were worried after finding a lump in my abdomen and some other symptoms I was experiencing. I just needed you to come through for me, just this once.” Solay exhaled, eyes on him.
Angel felt the color drain from his face. The rings on his fingers were pressed to his lips as he felt his knee start to bounce, “why didn’t you say something?”
“You mean to tell me you forgot in the next twenty-four hours that I was having something done?”
“I’m a dumbass sometimes! I seriously thought it was something minor and really didn’t think or even remember, honestly querida—Solay it fucken slipped my mind.”
“Do you believe his words, Solay?”
She shrugged her shoulders, “it’s possible. He forgot his own brother’s birthday.”
“Hey, we’re not talking about Ezekiel here.” Angel growled while Solay rolled her eyes, “…are you alright, soso?”
Hearing Angel use another nickname on her, made her skin crawl. Once upon a time, she thought it was cute and it actually gave her butterflies when Angel would say it, his rough callous hands cupping her face. Now? She just wanted him to shut up.
“Now you care?” Solay hissed, “all you had to do was include Xavy in on your quality time with his baby brother, that’s it. Do that one thing for me, for him. But nothing else matters and that’s why I’m so pissed.”
“Aye, don’t take this shit out on Mav.”
“I would never. I always engage with that sweet baby when he’s in my presence. That’s Xavy’s baby brother and I’m not that kind of woman. I would never take my frustrations with you out on your kid. Ever.” Solay’s heated doe eyes met Angel’s and he had to sit back in the chair, dejected.
Angel said, “I’m sorry. Forreal. I do wish you would of told me exactly what was going on with you though.”
“Would it have made a difference?”
“I’m sure it would, yeah.” Angel stared, which Solay held.
That felt definite.
Dr. Michelle looked up from her notes, “this is good you two. You’re both laying it out on the table, engaging and truly seeing what it is that you brought you two here. it’s leading us to the root of the problem.”
“Talk to us, doc. What do you think it is?” Angel dragged his eyes away from Solay, keeping his leg bouncing.
“From our conversations Angel, you hold a lot of insecurities and it stems from your own childhood trauma that you haven’t healed from. It’s bled into your marriage and you, Solay. Your defense mechanism is to shut down when situations are tough, putting your guard up instead of saying exactly what it is that’s troubling you.”
“Yes because I’m tired—so tired of reading the same pages of this story over and over with Angel.” Solay sniffed, “I’m not here to say he’s a bad person. I know he’s not. He’s just not a good partner for me. He’s got a strong heart and I know he loved me at some point in our relationship and he cares for our son sure, but I can’t help but to look at him sometimes and feel like I’m dealing with the damn devil.”
Angel furrowed his brows as he points at his own chest, “I’m the devil? I know you don’t believe that when you don’t even know what you’re getting yourself involved in with that dude who just dropped you off.”
“Oh, not this again.” Solay exhaled rubbing underneath her eyes, “I did not come here for you to worry about who I’m spending time with.”
“She acts like she’s so much better than me, when she’s dealing with someone just as shitty and she’s acting like fucking Stevie wonder with it.” Angel gritted.
“Are you also in a new relationship, Solay?”
“Yes. It just became serious.”
“Have Angel and this person met?”
“Absolutely not.”
“Why?”
“We’d probably kill each other.” Angel declared, feeling his fists lock together at the mere thought of Solay with somebody else.
Somebody better but he was positive Cane wasn’t.
Solay shrugged her shoulders, realizing this was true. Cane knew about Angel and the failure of their marriage and honestly he had words for Angel the day they ever came face to face. He got close but Solay always made sure to detour the man away from causing any chaos. It was amusing to Cane however because one day he was sure he was gonna say whatever came to mind when he set his eyes on Angel.
Solay just wanted a simple soft life, was that too much to ask for?
“Okay,” Dr. Michelle said, “So we have the both of you in relationships, Angel you with the same woman you had relations and child with. Solay’s also in a relationship that you don’t particularly like or trust, Angel. You both share a child together but your regressions towards each other make it hard to be within the same space. Is that correct?”
Solay blinked, “that about narrows it down.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Angel rolled his head around, trying to straighten up the tension in his body.
Dr. Michelle cleared her throat, “seems like we have quite the work cut out for us on resolving these issues between you two. We’re down to ten minutes left on the clock, so I want to give you some homework to take with you so that you’re prepared when I see you both next week.”
“Homework?” Angel exhaled, “I didn’t go off to college for this exact reason, Doc.”
“Well think of this as a introductory course,” Dr. Michelle declared, “you’re welcome.”
Solay snickered at the expression on Angel’s face who was reaching for a post it note on the edge of Dr. Michelle’s desk. The therapist was scribbling some last minute notes as Angel managed to grab the paper, ball it up and toss it in Solay’s direction.
Which resulted in double middle fingers from the woman who managed to dodge it just in time. Angel scoffed and stuck out his tongue until Dr. Michelle cleared her throat.
“Are you two quite finished?”
Solay flicked one of her ponytails behind her shoulder and sent a sweet smile at the woman who stared hard at the pair.
“It’s a simple exercise. Both of you are going to write seven things that impacted your relationship from beginning, middle, to end. You can also form it into a Venn diagram or a pros and cons list, then we’ll discuss it next week. Sound good?” Dr. Michelle asks.
Solay has her phone now, her fingers tapping away at her screen as she sets a reminder for herself to do this before next Wednesday. She suddenly looks up at Angel who has his arms resting on the arm rests, twiddling his thumbs.
“Do I have to text you a reminder?”
“Would you be so kind?” Angel was sarcastic, “I’ll remember. If I can show up to see Dr. Michelle’s beautiful atmosphere, I can remember to do some homework.”
Solay replied in a sing song tone, straight but lightly shaded eyebrows raising, “okay…”
“You don’t believe me?”
“If you do the work, I’ll do the work. Otherwise this’ll be for nothing.” Solay answers, meeting Angel’s much darker eyes before turning back to the therapist, “thank you for your time, Dr. Michelle.”
“Thank you for showing up Solay, that’s time.” Dr. Michelle stood from her desk, walking around to lead the two out.
Solay stood in the lobby, messing around with her phone while Angel shared a hushed conversation with Dr. Michelle—hoping to get some sort of reflection or opinion on his ex-wife. It was a little selfish for Angel to want Dr. Michelle to strictly be on his side but he’d be lying if said he didn’t wish for his therapist to provide him with that comfort.
However Dr. Michelle liked to be theoretical and shit so Angel knew he shouldn’t be surprised.
“We’ll get somewhere, Angel. Now that she’s here, we can get this chapter closed and then focus on the next stage, yes?” Dr. Michelle explained while Angel slowly nodded, taking her word for it.
Soon he bid his goodbyes to the British woman before he fished his pockets for a cigarette. Just to mess around with as he approached Solay, he promised that he would actually quit smoking this time around and so far he’s been on track.
“You waiting for your boyfriend, who probably can’t see over the curb to pick you up?” Angel spoke from behind Solay.
She huffed, glancing over her shoulder, “actually no, I’m waiting on my assistant to get me and bring me back to work—if it’s any of your business.”
“Course it is, you’re still the mother of my child.” Angel snorted, “tell her don’t bother, I’ll take you back.”
“On your death trap? I think not.”
“Traffic gets bad around this time out here…the bike it much faster than whatever your assistant is coming to get you in, so it’s up to you.” Angel tapped the cigarette on the glass window of the door.
Solay thought about it, staring hard at Angel who offered her a goofy smile before pushing the door open, walked through and held it open waiting for the woman to follow after. Sighing, she pressed her phone to her ear to let her employee know that she found her way and that she’ll see her soon.
“No funny shit, Angel. Take me straight to work.”
“What? You don’t wanna stop and have lunch first?”
“Not after that session and especially not with you.” Solay answered as Angel yanked up the helmet that rested on his bike.
Angel did the honors of slipping the helmet down on her head, surely messing up her ponytails as he secured it and knocked his knuckles against the top, “damn, that hurts.”
“Terms and conditions.” Solay pointed, making Angel shake his head as he climbed on the bike first.
Solay followed shortly after, resting her hands on Angel’s shoulders to steady herself. As he kicked the engine on, solay almost flinched, knowing that she had to wrap her hands around Angel’s waist instead.
“Does what’s his face have these terms and conditions that you speak of, too?”
“Yup, he has you to thank for that.”
Angel let out a exaggerated sigh, choosing not to say anything else on that as he peddled the bike backwards before steering into a turn, then he set off into the desert streets with Solay still having a hold on him.
What would have been a hour ride was turned into a thirty-five minute one as the tatted man was parked in front of Solay’s business while she let her hair run free now by using Angel’s side mirror, then handed the helmet back to said man.
“Thanks for the ride.”
“Anytime, soso.” Angel glanced at the building seeing a few clients inside of the orange sickle colored building, “spot looks cool as fuck, I’m proud of you, you know?”
Solay had a bachelor’s degree in science, finding her field in dermatology and held her license as a esthetician. She also sold a successful skincare line that she launched on her own website just last year. And this year she purchased her first house all on her own. She was doing well for herself but remained humble about it all.
“Okay, Angel.” Solay sighed, holding her bag down in front of her as she stared out at the orange skies, “we don’t have to kiss each other asses.”
Anfel shrugged, “It’s better than chewing each other out though right? Especially after today and I mean it so what’s the harm in that?”
“…well I appreciate it.”
“See, I can play nice sometimes too huh?” Angel winked as he put his helmet on, “I’ll let you get too it then…remind me, am I picking Xavier up from school on Friday or?”
‘Are you having him for the weekend since it is technically your weekend thanks to me screwing it up last time.’ Angel thought to himself.
“Papa Felipe is so it’s easier for you to bring him to yours.”
Angel was thankful that Solay wants Xavier to actually spend Friday and Saturday night with him after what he pulled last weekend. However he probably knew his pops would give him a hard time and would probably want to keep the boy to himself for the weekend. Solay’s mom and Felipe often chatted; with Felipe telling Angel that his mother, Marisol, probably would have loved Solay’s mom.
“Cool,” Angel said, “I’ll see you on Sunday then.”
“Sunday it is.”
He dipped his head, starting the engine and she watched the man drive off into the sunset before making her way inside.
[Sometime Saturday night…]
Cane Tejada entered the one level stucco home, hands rubbing in excitement as he entered the front of the home. To his surprise, he didn’t find Solay in the kitchen whipping it up and went through the house in search of her.
He found her in the main bedroom with the attached bathroom, touching up her makeup as her hips swayed to a Ayra Starr song. Leaning against the door, he let out a low whistle as his eyes scanned over her curves in the lace corset midi-dress.
“Tonight is my lucky night after all,” Cane bit down on his bottom lip.
Solay stopped leaning over the counter, molding her lipstick covered lips together and blinked her eyes as she glanced over her shoulder at the brown-skinned man, “you’re not coming out with me.”
“Huh?”
Solay brushed by Cane, her light floral and hint of a hazelnut scent hitting his nostrils as she walked by. He followed the woman into her bedroom, eyeing her as she sat on the edge of the bed, one leg crossed over the other.
“Where you going, So?”
She smiled up at him as she slipped on a heel, her anklet bracelet glistening in the room, “Out. Without you.”
“Nah, I’m not feeling that. Not with the way that dress is fitting and the way that ass is—
Solay inserted, “not my problem.” She got to her feet in search of her clutch, “matter of fact, why don’t you reach out to what was her name? Effie. And see if she wants to entertain you for the night.”
She tapped his jaw before turning off the light, making Cane slightly curse to himself. He jogged after the long haired woman, reaching out to grip her waist to turn her to him.
Solay held mock sympathy on her face and Cane didn’t like it one bit, “you going through my shit?”
“You left your laptop here and it was going haywire…something about tuition. I didn’t care to read it all,” she lifted her shoulders careless, “so…you should consider looking for the next flight home to New York soon.”
“It ain’t even like that.” Cane started, “it was just business, nothing more.”
Solay shushed him, “I don’t wanna hear about it. I’m not even stressing it babe, it’s fine.”
Cane scrunched up his nose, “but it’s not because you’re dismissing my ass like I ain’t shit—like we ain’t build this together.”
“What even is this?”
Cane was confused, “a relationship? We been locked in for awhile now so why you trying to switch up on me?”
“You’re the one out here dropping stacks on some girl’s tuition.”
“I ain’t fuck her if that’s what you’re getting at.” Cane was blunt with it, “I’m here for and with you. I’m not some disloyal cheating ass bitch, like your ghost rider baby father. Let’s get that straight.”
Solay sighed, staring down at the new set on her hand.
Cane gripped Solay’s chin, making her eyes meet his, “I’m not him, So. I’m not gonna do you dirty, I’m only about you.”
And solay held his stare not entirely believing it. She’s been down this road before and it was wrong for her to enter relationships—serious relationships and always compare them to Angel. He hurt her bad time after time and she’ll be a cold hearted bitch if that meant she gets to protect her heart better.
She’ll get rid of anybody that plays with her, just like that.
Cane included.
“Words are just words, Cane. You have to show me.”
Cane gripped onto her waist, holding tighter but still kept some distance just in case she felt like she wanted to throw hands, “I gotchu. I’m yours.”
“You already violated one of the terms and conditions and you have maybe two more left, so think wisely next time.” Solay warned, resting one hand on Cane’s shoulder.
Cane was swift with pulling out his phone, “what? You want me to take that cash back?”
He’ll sign a NDA if she hit him with one, he didn’t want to lose what he had with Solay. She was the only woman that ever made him feel loved but it’s not like he wanted to get too deep about it. Emotions were a lot to feel you know?
Solay shook her head, “no. I know there’s more where that came from, just don’t treat me like I don’t ever know what’s going on.”
“Heard you.” Cane put his phone back as he stepped closer, glancing down at her lips before sliding his hands down to rest on her backside, “can I get to show you just how important you are to me?”
One hand came up to brush her bouncy curl over her shoulder, exposing the length of her neck which he licked his lips at before placing a peck there.
She shoved him back, “not uh, I have some place else to be.”
“Oh it’s like that, so?”
“Yup it’s like that,” she smirked over her shoulder swaying her way to the front door, “don’t wait up for me. Bye!”
Cane shook his head in disbelief and looked around the empty but quiet one-level home, “fuck am I supposed to do, meditate?”
That’s when he phone rang, right on time and he picked it up on the second ring, “Dru, what’s good?”
“Got that info you wanted on Reyes. Want me to send it your way?”
“Nah just tell it to me and meet me over there.”
Cane listened carefully to what Dru told him before hanging up. A smirk was on his lips as he also took his exit from the home.
he was ready for his own fun for the night.
Sorry so.

*************************************
You guess the saying is true, men and women can’t be friends without one of them catching feelings. Unfortunately, this time it’s you who’s been bitten by the bug. You and Angel have been friends for so long it feels like he’s always been a part of your life. So much so that your family knows and welcomes him. You weren't always as close as you are now but in the past six months you’ve found yourself thinking about him more than usual. Stealing looks while he laughs, getting a little jealous when he flirts with the girls around the club and missing him more than you should when he goes on runs. Instead of leaning into it you've been trying to pull away and get a grip on ballooning emotions. In true Angel fashion he’s shown up anyways to complete a project you asked him to do since last month. You hand him a glass of fresh lemonade and he takes it wiping the sweat from his brow.
“I'm starting to think this friendship is unequal,” he huffs, taking another sip. You smile looking at the fruits of his manual labour. He’s built you two bookcases in the past hour. Aside from your need for a place to house your hobby, there's a benefit to having Angel performing the task in his wife-pleaser, slightly sweaty, muscles bulging as he lifts the heady wood, searching through piles of brackets, bolts and screws assembling them. His arms, his hands, his attention. Swallowing you look away from him trying to get a grip…
“You do the physical labour and I do the intellectual” you smile tapping the wood.
“Hmm, that’s how this works?” he asks looking up as he slides another shelf into place.
“Yup” you smile “Looks good”
“Where do You want them?” He asks standing. He’s substantially taller than you.
“Over there” you point. He moves them into place without struggle, looking down you find they're on wheels.
“You change your mind too much. I’m not gonna put my back out” he huffs in his angel way and you flip him off playfully.
“While my indecision marinates, my mom wants to know if you want to stay for dinner?” you ask.
“I thought we were going out to eat later?” he asks, raising a brow.
“You know how they are about home cooked meals versus spending money and eating out” you roll your eyes and he smiles.
“Why don’t we eat here then and hangout after?” He offers.
“Ok” you smile and repeats it mockingly in your exact tone. He’s missed you. You hadn't been around lately and it was grating on his nerves. He’d stay up late sometimes staring at the ceiling wondering if there was someone else you were spending your time with. He’d even woken up in cold sweats from nightmares of seeing you out with someone else.
You end up at Angels where you spend almost as much time as you do at your own home. It’s in desperate need of decoration and a feminine touch. He wouldn’t even have cookware and dishware if it weren't for you.
“Come on, the sick shit is about to start” he calls like a big kid from the couch. You smile relishing in the moments where he’s unguarded and animated. Where the smile overtakes the intimidating appearance of a large man with a muscular build and tattoos a part of a motorcycle club.
“Almost done” you shout, loading the last of the dishes into the dishwasher.
“Y/N!” He shouts impatiently and you wash your hands quickly heading to see the action beginning. You sit beside him and he kisses the top of your head wrapping an arm around you. It’s a level of intimacy you don’t share with anyone else. You hold him back and he puts your legs over his. Your mom has said a thousand times that you’re too close to not be together. She thinks it’s a recipe for disaster and right about now you believe her. You don't know when you fell asleep but you wake up to Angel carrying you.
“It’s alright, I got you” he whispers, carrying you into his bed. You doze off again and feel him put a shirt over your tank before peeling off your leggings. You stir again when he comes back smelling like he just had a smoke. He heads to the bathroom. He gets into the bed gingerly considerate of your sleep. Sleepily you scoot over to his warm body and his arms find themselves around yours. You fall asleep in no time.
———-
It’s been awhile since you've  been woken up to morning wood. Angel's dream must be a good one. You smile sliding away from the active appendage and head into the bathroom. Evidence of your proximity is all over. You have a section in his bathroom. When you lift the face wash you smile because it’s lighter than usual. He’s been using it too. You find the dishwasher emptied  and start on breakfast. Angel comes in half an hour later looking like a daydream, with bedroom hair and sleepy eyes.
“Smells good” He mutters.
“I tried” you admit putting a plate in front of him.
“What are you up to today?” He asks.
“Putting my books away”
“Those things are filthy” He jokes, eating the bacon with his hands like a caveman.
“Whatever” you roll your eyes and he smiles all the way to his eyes very amused.
“Aww she’s blushing” he teases.
“Shut up” you laugh sitting with your own plate.
“What’s up, you’ve been a little distant. Work or mama stressing you out?” He asks attentively. There’s no hiding from him.
“Maybe both”
“You don’t need the job. I told you you can manage the bar” he offers in a bid to keep you close.
“I didn’t go to school to manage the bar.”
“So what, you're gonna be like this for longer?” He asks.
“Explain how I’m being?” you ask suspiciously.
“Not in the moment.” He says “In your head and not letting me in” he says.
“We’ll I'm working through some things”
“What?” he panics internally.
“Personal things” you shrug casually looking into your plate.
“Come on!” He laughs. “We’re practically one person” he snaps, tossing his fork into the plate and sitting back.
“I’m getting my period, who knows it may just pass” you lie.
He deadpans, “You don’t think I know you get your period at the beginning or end of the month. You just lied” he says and you laugh shocked at his attentiveness.
“Angel!” you laugh shocked but he’s not amused.
“You’re seeing someone aren’t you? One of those sissy pretty boys you know I won’t approve of” he says making you smile.
“No, I’m not” you affirm and he relaxes a touch.
“Not a pretty boy?” He raises a brow.
“I'm not seeing anyone” you tell him honestly but it doesn't settle him.
“Y/N, you can tell me so I can look into him. You’ve only been here once this week” he says and you sit on his lap. It's what made Angel different from the rest of the guys you'd been friendly with. He wasn’t trying to control you, he'd be right by your side when the shit got sticky. He’d let you live and he’d clean up all the mess without judgement.
“I’m not seeing anyone, there’s no one you need to kill. I’ve just been trying to get my shit together” you explain and he holds you close.
“You can get your shit together here. There’s enough space for the both of us.”
“What happens when you decide to go steady with one of the barfly’s?” you ask leaning into him, resting your head in the crook of his neck.
“Not gonna happen” He laughs holding you close.
“Remind me to take you back to the gym. Gotta get you better at boxing in case one of these creeps you don't want to tell me about gets out of hand.” he says. He runs his thumb over your knuckles. You feel compelled to tell him the full truth. You get up and pour yourself some water.
“You’re doing it again, wait did one of the guys say or do something?” He stands.
“No, the guys are well, they're great in their own special way…” you shrug, turning your back to him.
“Y/N, you’re killing me here” Angel snaps.
“Angel, don’t feel weird about this okay?”
“No promises” he huffs, leaning forward attentively.
“I’ve been having, I don’t know…” you trail, having never been here before.
“Y/N spit it out” Angel says worriedly.
“I’ve been thinking a lot about what us together would be like” You admit. He stills for a while before he finally blinks and his posture relaxes. When he finally takes a breath he places a hand on his heart. His eyes close and he shakes his head in amusement.
“Don’t ever fucking scare me like that again” he warns with a smile. It throws you for a loop.
“I’m here thinking you’re hurt or sick or in danger” Angel snaps.
“I’m not sure I’m not” you joke and he smiles coming over.
“Way better than those books” he says standing in front of you closing the space between the both of you and running his hands down your shoulders to hold both of your hands.
“Huh?” you ask looking up at him.
“Us together, it would be way better than those books” he smiles. Your cheeks burn before you smile back. “It’s about time hermosa” he smiles leaning down and placing a kiss on your lips. It’s the first and hopefully the first of many.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” you ask.
“It means I’ve been waiting for you to come around for awhile now” he says candidly.
“Since when?” you laugh shocked.
“Since the pool party” he says and that was nearly a year ago.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” you ask.
“Showing you was better” he says and you think of all the ways our connection has evolved this year. You stand against the counter and he closes the space between you again. He kisses you harder this time. You make out like teenagers and it sends my heart racing. You’re breathless when it ends and you rest your head on his chest. He rubs circles onto your back.
“I just knew you were a good kisser,” he mumbles.
“I need to sort my room out, we can pick this back up later” you tell him wanting more but needing some time to process your excitement and all the new info.
“Why? You don’t need those books anymore” he says, appealing to every one of your senses.
“They aren’t all about sex Angel, just the few you happened to pick up” you reason and he shakes his head knowing it's another half truth.
“You into that shit? The guy getting a little rough and being dominant?” He asks playfully, grabbing you by the neck. He’s never been rough before and your smile answers the question.
His eyes close in appreciation and excitement. “Shit” he smiles, coming in for another kiss. This one is soft in spite of your acceptance or his rougher side. It’s perfect though.
“You can tell me what you’re into when I’m done” you smile pushing him away determined not to walk into your home freshly fucked after a night out. After all the waiting you and Angel need more than a few hours, all day and all night.
“I’m a simple man,” he says in surrender. “Pretty sure I’ll like anything you do to me” he says, making you laugh.
“Walk me out” you tell him like you would any other time. He gets the door of your car for you as usual but when he hugs you he takes a handful of ass.
“I’ve been wanting to do that for so long,” he says, validating your feelings.
“Make it a habit” you whisper, kissing his cheek. Angel steps back, closing the door with a full heart and a stiffy.
“Plan to” he smiles knowing there's absolutely no way he's gonna be able to keep his hands off of you. Not even after he's touched every inch of your skin and given you every inch of him. Not after you become a Reyes or after you have a little one making your stomach swell. Not after your home is filled with children and he has to sneak into the bathroom for some alone time in the shower. Not when his hair is more salt than pepper, not when his hands are too weathered to ride his bike anymore.
Not ever.

DECEMBER DRABBLE — 2. Angel Reyes 🌨️
Tumblr media
A/N: gif belongs to [user: @pedropcl] now it seems like it’s next to impossible to find decent gifs through the gif search up here especially when it comes to this man. S/o to google this time around! Anyways here I am writing for another angel but the main angel? That I usually write for lol. For once it’s nothing too serious—well kinda…and might actually fit into the drabble category. Let’s pat myself on the back…maybe. I write my AN’s before I actually write the content 😬
S/N: decided to add Dante Torres from Chicago PD into the mix because I have a crush on Benjamin levy Aguilar and loved him in that Netflix series with Veronica mars (she’ll always be Veronica mars sorry y’all lol) and there’s no content on him. He’s only mentioned in this so don’t attack me too much if you read this and I’m new to the Chicago PD series and his character which is why I didn’t write any scenes specifically with him.
Prompt: #24. “Lift me up so I can put the star on the tree.” + #16. “We can’t put this photo in our Christmas card.”
·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ ✩ *̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙ .·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ ✩ *̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙ . ·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ ✩ .·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ ✩ *̩̩̥͙

Angel didn’t like what he was seeing when he pulled up to his house that weekend. He didn’t want to jump to conclusions but he recognized the car that passed him by before he parked his bike next to your car in the driveway. He wasn’t late so he didn’t know why someone else was pulling up to his house uninvited.
And he had something to say about it.
“Yo!” Angel called into the house as he dropped his keys into the dish by the front door.
He stepped into the living room to see you swaying in front of the Christmas tree, joint attached to your full lips. Angel almost got distracted by the way your ass filled out those gym pants but he was on a mission. Then he picked up on the music full of Afro-Beats, which meant you were in a good mood and something inside of him provoked him to disrupt that.
Angel licked his bottom lip, getting one last look before he lightly touched your upper back to get your attention. And what did he do that for? You slightly jumped and spun to aim a high kick at your attacker, who you didnt recognize as Angel at the start.
Thankfully he dodged your long leg and called out to you, “whoa! Aye, querida. Relax! It’s just me.”
“Angel?! What are you doing sneaking up on me like that?” You muttered around the joint as you exhaled.
Angel sucked his teeth, “I called out to you as soon as walked in the door.”
“I’m having a jam session right now, you know I don’t hear nothing when I’m dancing.” You wiggled your hips and held out the joint to the man who plucked it from your hands.
He took a hit and deeply exhaled as you carried on, spinning around him while he lightly shook his head.
It was time to get down to business.
“Whatchu do all day? Have anybody over?”
“Mmm nope. Spent the day doing a wash and go, listening to music, and putting the tree up. Now I get to relax.” You told your boyfriend while you continued dancing.
Angel called out to alexa to stop the music, shutting it off much to your annoyance. You held your hands out silently asking what he did that for and awaited a response from the party crasher.
“I saw a car on my way coming in. The same car that pulled up to the club once before…you know anything about that?”
Why would you? Your poked your head out in confusion and rolled your hands, “just spit it out already Angel, you’re getting on my nerves trying to play the accusing game.”
“Are you cheating on me with that egghead oink oink motherfucker? D’Angelo?”
A laugh couldn’t help but to burst out at Angel’s description but the look on his face was anything but humor.
“You mean Dante?” You asked, turning back to the couch in search of the remote.
Tumblr media
Angel waved his hand around, still holding onto your joint, “whatever his name is. Are you sleeping with him?”
“I don’t cheat on people I claim to love. I don’t move like that and you know it so stop insulting me.” A heated stare went his way and Angel felt himself having to take a deep breath.
Of course he knew that. That was his own insecurities and previous actions getting in the way. He knew you were solid and would never, you already warned him if that’s something he did or even thought about when it came to your relationship then it was automatically a wrap. You had such power about you, like it seemed like nothing could hurt you, like you were invincible and it was incredible to watch. Angel didn’t want to be the one to fuck with that, not purposely.
And he really did care for you, which is why he didn’t want to believe that you could cheat on him. However he knew that you could just get up and leave whenever you wanted and that thought alone scared him. He never felt that way more than once before.
You didn’t need him and he knew that. Yet you still showed him love in a way that he wasn’t used to. You were patient but firm, which is why you weren’t raising your voice at his foolish accusations.
“I—I’m sorry but he was here right? I’m not completely bugging, I know that much.”
Plopping down on the edge of the couch you waved the remote around as you briefly thought about it, “…yeah he was. He stopped by for a minute, he didn’t come in out of respect for me.”
Angel huffed, “respect for you? What about me? He don’t pay no bills around here, he should be asking my permission to be anywhere near you.”
Sighing you said, “he doesn’t need your ‘permission’ to be around me. He’s my friend and been my friend since we were teens. Also you don’t know if he was here because of whatever case he’s working on and before you get paranoid it has nothing to do with you or the club. I would let you know that. Do you see me on your dick about the bartenders you used to mess around with? Now no. So stop your bitching and lift me up so I can put the star on the tree.”
Angel took a long drag from the joint at your words. He didn’t know who you thought you were talking to but he liked it.
“Why don’t you call the egghead back over here and he could do the work,” Angel mocked, “you already put the tree up without me.”
“You told me it was fine! Every time we planned to do it during the weekend you got called into the club. I asked you not once but thrice so don’t start, angel.” You scowled, getting to your feet and pulling your gym pants further up your waist.
Sighing Angel leaned over you, placing the joint into the dish to hold for him. He stood in front of you who peered up at him with raised brows. His hands massaged the sides of your neck before trailing up to rest against your cheeks, his hands were always rough but cool thanks to the rings that decorated his fingers.
“Love you lots you know,” he started, making you roll your eyes, “no for real, listen I do. It’s just that im fully aware I got the full package here and I don’t want nobody getting in between that. Especially no fed that your friends with…I dunno what it is with you and my fucken brother being friends with the opps.”
You sent a jab to the man’s abdomen who winced as you said, “don’t talk about franky like that, you know that’s family.”
“Oh shit, I keep forgetting.”
“Yeah, I don’t see why after everything he’s done.”
Angel made a chirping movement with his hand and stepped back before you could fight him some more, “don’t expect me to be friendly with egghead Da Vinci either.”
“I don’t think he wants to be your friend anyways.” You answered, making Angel furrow his brows as he began removing his vest.
He tossed it on the couch as he exasperates, “why? What his ass say? I’ll fuck him up.”
Laughing to yourself you shook your head, not instigating anything further. You knew Dante scooped Angel out because he cared about your well-being and didn’t think the man was good enough for you. It was always like that when you started dating but Dante also knew you would do whatever you felt like doing no matter what someone had to say.
You always had a mind of your own.
Yet Dante Torres was diligent and rebellious and and that didn’t change when it came to you, his best friend.
Dante also knew the boundaries he had to respect out of the sake your relationship but that didn’t mean he had to like Angel Reyes. At the end of the day he had a job to do and when he was ready he could take down the whole club if he really wanted to. However he was leaving to Chicago for a couple of weeks and he just knew something would go down without him even prying.
“And then you’ll be in jail for assaulting a cop and that’s a hard charge to get out of.” You let out a low-whistle, remembering a family member who took that route in his early twenties and just got out at the age of thirty-four last year.
Angel scoffed but said nothing more not wanting to waste anymore breath on some guy that didn’t matter to him. Instead he searched the empty box for the crown that was your star for the tree and held it in between his teeth. While he did that you decided to turn the music back on, just in time for Angel to grip you by the waist to face him. He then pulled you around to be in front of him, you glancing back at him in question as he motioned for you.
“You know what to do, spread ‘em.”
“Ask nicely.”
Angel gave you a look making you laugh as you got into a jumping Jack pose without the jumping. Angel fixed the crown back between his lips before he crouched down in between your legs. Once his neck was in between your legs, he kept a tight grip on your legs before he lifted you up into the air.
“So this is what it’s like being seven feet tall?” You asked as Angel carried you over to the tree.
Reaching downwards you gently took the crown from his mouth and reached upwards. Angel’s hands tightened on your upper thighs as he leaned towards the tree more, eyeing as you slipped the crown right on top of the very decorative tree.
“Tree looks nice as fuck, Querida. How long it take you?” Angel used one hand to touch one the rose gold ribbons you had wrapped in it.
“Thank you, baby.” You beamed, knuckles now pressed into your hips as you admired your work, “I actually started on Friday, getting everything from the basement, mom came over on Saturday then she pissed me off trying to dictate how it should look as if she didn’t decorate her tree and my sister’s tree already. And I just finished today. It’s perfect.”
Angel chuckled to himself. He knew how your mom could be, she was a interior decorator herself so it only made since that she wanted to take over the whole process. Now angel was really kicking himself from missing out on this, you lost your cool whenever it came to your mom despite the love you had for her. Yet your mother is very stubborn and sensitive wrapped into one. He tried to question how your dad handled a woman like her but he knew your dad wasn’t rocking with him like that.
“Ah it is.” Angel began to crouch, making you grip for something as he began to do some squats.
“This what we doing?”
“I missed the entire weekend to work out, let me have this. Count for me?” Angel encouraged while you held on tighter.
The man slowly took working out seriously through persuasion of you. Also working as a phlebotomist encouraged you to take not only your health but others around you seriously. You always found health class and physiology interesting so it was no surprise to your family and friends that you got into this field.
And so you did, getting to fifty before Angel decided to call it quits.
“You did great,” you mentioned as Angel took the time to focus on slowing his breathing.
Once he did, he lowered you down to the ground with a nice slap to your ass of course.
“Thanks for being my weight and letting me in between those thighs.”
“Oh, shut up.” You playfully shoved the man, who laughed yanking you to his slightly sweaty frame to pepper your face with kisses.
Later…Angel sat at the kitchen table, eating the Sunday dinner you prepared while your eyes went over a series of photos on your laptop.
“Angel, what is this?”
Angel stopped chewing the lamb and peered over at you, “what?”
“Why did you move these into the possible Christmas card options?” You spun the laptop around to face the dark haired man who smirked at the image.
Angel continued eating, “What’s wrong with it?”
“Angel…” you exhaled and rested your fingertips against your forehead, “Our reenactment of Janet Jackson’s rolling stone cover and her ex husband with your hands on my breasts and you in a Santa hat is not appropriate to send to my granny or my parents. We can’t put this photo in our Christmas card.”
Angel shrugged his shoulders, “why not, it’s art? It’s Christmas, it’s supposed to be happy.”
“Would you like me sending this to pop?” You quizzed.
Angel pretended to think about it, “he wouldn’t keep it anyways and would probably call me up to yell at me about it. I’d love to see the look on his face though. We look sexy, what’s the problem?”
“These were for our eyes only. For fun.”
“Which is what Christmas is all about.”
“I thought it was about celebrating the birth of Jesus?”
“Fuck if I know, I was raised catholic.”
Your eyes instantly went to Angel’s who met your stare. He laughed to himself, “I know how that sounds, be quiet.”
Grabbing the computer back you shook your head at the unbelievable man. Scrunching up your nose, you lifted your glasses further up the bridge of your nose as you clicked onto the next set of photos.
Angel licked his fingers, finishing off his food before he patted his belly. “Here’s an idea, why don’t you send that one to your old homeboy? Maybe he’ll get the message to stop coming around when I’m not here.”
“I’m not doing that to feed your ego.” You easily responded, eyes trained on your screen.
Angel got up from the table to place his items into the sink. He actually took the time to wash them to place into the rack. Once finished he walked over to you, leaning over to see what other photos you were looking at. You took a good thirty photos together so there had to be something in there that was satisfactory in your eyes.
He didn’t really care to be honest, “Whatever you pick will be cute as shit that your granny will keep pushing for us to give her a great-grand baby.”
Almost gagging you shuddered at the thought. Being pregnant terrified you, sure babies were cute and everything but the whole process of carrying and actually giving birth did not sound like a 10/10. You’ve watched enough horror stories and heard enough horror stories to know that’s not exactly what you wanted right now. Or ever? Of course that could always change but the full discussion of children with Angel made you uneasy.
He already had a son and previously lost a son, which didn’t sit right with you, however it was none of your business. Although, you didn’t exactly enjoy the idea of possibly raising a child with a man that was hardly there…but that was not a conversation that you wanted to have tonight.
If Angel picked up on this, he chose not to say anything about it when you know he could have. Instead he just placed a kiss on your temple, his beard briefly scratching at your skin before he left your side, saying he was off to take a shower and leave you alone with your final decisions.

“I’ve missed this.”
“You don’t say,” you chuckle loudly, currently bent over the pool table while Bishop slams in and out of you from behind. “We’ve only been apart for a day.”
Bishop laughs in your ear. “You say that like it’s a bad thing.”
A moan escapes your lips as he increases the pace, his thumb now circling your swollen clit. “It’s not, Obispo, but you could have at least said hello first.”
Sliding out of you, he turns you around, smiling at you before burying his head between your legs and spelling out Hello with his skilled tongue.
