T.Kageyama x older!blk!femreader˖ ࣪⊹
Sum: While in Tokyo for summer break Tobio gets to practice Vollyball but also see his long distance girlfriend, what a surprise to the team to find out she’s older, and their rival teams manager.
Warnings: not proofread, fluff, flirty, maybe suggestive? cursing,

As soon as the team found out their bossy setter had a girlfriend they wouldn’t stop bothering Kageyama, pestering him with questions. As irritating as it was he kept to himself giving the simple answer that she doesn't go to school with them.
“Common I bet you're bummed out you can see your girlfriend huh?” Tanaka teased, earning a glare from the first year.
“Yeah, plus she's gotta be drop-dead gorgeous if you still won't show us a picture.” Nishinoya gawked.
“Or she doesn't exist.” Tsukishima scoffed.
“Well, she does exist and I don't have to prove anything maybe you all will get to meet her while we're in Tokyo,” Kageyama spoke his tone sharp.
“I agree with Tsukishima there's no way an actual pretty girl would date you.” Hinata crossed his arms only to get pushed out if his seat by Kageyama.
That was the whole bus ride, especially after He mentioned she lived in Tokyo. Some of them didn't believe she was real or tried describing her only to fail terribly in describing her appearance. Kageyama of course had bragged about her because he knew she was gorgeous, smart, and funny, even though he would never admit it to her.
The bus had finally arrived at the gym the boys came off the bus only to be greeted by Nekoma. “Took you guys long enough to get here,” Kuroo spoke His arms crossed against his chest.
It didn't take long for Kageyama to find her eyes, hers already looking and him her glossed lips curved into a smile that made his heart flutter his face flushing red quickly adverting his eyes.
“This is our Manager L/n Y/n,” Kuroo introduced her, “she wasn’t with us last time we saw you.” He laughed.
“It’s nice to meet you all.” She spoke offering a sweet smile.
It’s didn’t take long for Noya and Tanaka boy start gawking leaving her to roll her eyes at them, but then she turned to him. “It’s good to see you again baby.” She smiled at tobio.
“Wait, SHES YOUR GIRLFRIEND.” Nishinoya yelled.
“No Fucking way!” Tanaka and Tsukishima said together.
Tobio didn’t say anything his face just beat red as she laughed at his teams reaction, though her team was no different.
“Wow didn’t tell them about me?” She teased now standing in front of him her hand moving his face to look at her.
“I- I did tell them just didn’t show them pictures or anything like that!” he spoke his hand holding her wrist lightly.
She laughed once more, and an embarrassed Kageyama let his head fall onto her shoulder. “I didn't want them gawking over you,” he whispered his voice filled with jealousy.
Her nails trailed the back of his neck soon creating in his hair, her touch making him shiver softly. He missed her, missed her gentle touch and intoxicating laugh, the way she smelled. Everything, as embarrassed as he may get he couldn't care less right now, His face in the nape of her neck.
“I missed you..”
She moved his head up “I missed you to love,” he likes meeting his cheek.
It didn't take long for the moment to be ruined “You're dating a first-year.” Yamamoto spoke.
She turned around “Yeah? What about it weren't you Messing around with a first year?”
“Thats different.”
“It's not.” Kuroo and her said in unison.
The rest of the night went on as planned, everyone settled in their rooms, the coaches setting rules, and now everyone was at dinner. Tobio teams non-stop talking about himself and his girlfriend, they definitely weren't expecting her to be older mind you, of color. They just didn't see him as the type, but he was.
At the dining hall, he didn't see her sitting with the rest of the managers, so with his tray, he began to walk out the doors, and there she was filling up water bottles. “How come you aren't eating?” his voice obviously startling her.
“Oh, um i just over heard some guys were gonna practice in the gym after dinner so filling bottles uo before then,” she spoke watching him step closer.
He hummed, she must have heard Hinita talking about it. “Could we eat out here i can make you a trash and be right back…” he offered, his voice shaky.
She smiled up at him the sunset reflecting on her eyes and completion so beautifully. “Why are you so nervous huh Tobio..” she said looking through her lashes stepping closer to him.
“I'm not!”
“Mmhm wanna give me a kiss than before you go in?”
He nodded placing his tray down, giving her a quick kiss only for her to pull him back by the shirt. Oh! Oh.. She tasted like shea butter he thought melting into her kiss. Pulling away he felt all fuzzy, “I'll- I'll go get your food now if that's what you would like.. Can I have one more please..?” he muttered the slightest stutter in his voice.
“Yeah, you want another kiss?” she leaded, he hummed.
“I would, I would like another kiss.”
So she did his weight shifting pushing her against the cement sink, her hand placed on his face as she kissed him again her hands trailing down to his neck scratching it slightly causing a groan from him. Pulling back, their breath heavy as Kageyama stood up straight quickly. “I’ll be back!” walking away quickly only to come right back, cupping her face kissing her lips quickly “I Love you.”
She giggled “I love you to!”

I have no clue how to end this😔 but hope you like it!!

Hate
(kageyama tobio x reader)
-
-> in which two highschool students who despise each other dearly, get paired up for a project.
!enemies to lovers!
angst w no comfort
Tumblr media
she never thought the way she felt for him could change.
After all, she hated his guts. From the moment she met him in the school library, she knew that he was trouble. The way he would shout at the shorter orange haired male who was always beside him every single time made her annoyed. ‘couldn’t he just lower his voice or shut up?!’ she thought to herself.  The way he would look at almost everyone who wasn’t involved with volleyball with that bitch face as if he were trying to find a problem with them. ‘Is he trying to pick a fight?’ she would scoff whenever that happened.
To be fair, the feeling was mutual.
Kageyama Tobio hated her guts too. From the moment she refused to help him with his subjects, he basically considered her as arrogant, he never wanted to speak to her or ask for her help again. The way she BOUGHT THE LAST PACKET OF MILK from the vending machine ( which didn’t restock for a week ) made him irritated and unable to focus during his volleyball practice.
They both didn't cross paths or spoke for months till their homeroom teacher made them pair up for a project that they had to do.
Tumblr media
As expected, they both didn't say anything to each other even when they had a discussion going on. The teacher however, didn't seem to get a hint so she threatened them with a failing grade.
“If it wasn't for my grades, I would literally throw a brick to your face.” Y/N muttered to herself. “what?” the look on the raven haired male was full of disgust, “you think I want to be here with you? tsk, shittykawa would be a better partner instead."
The girl beside him scoffed, “what makes you think I want to be here with YOU. You can't even slice a simple math question, we are going to fail anyway because of what a  dumbass you are.”
Kageyama clenched his fist. He had never been called a dumbass by anyone other than his volleyball teammates and sister before. Oh this girl must have had a lot of nerves to say that. Before he could even return an insult, the teacher announced to the class that this project must be done in 3 weeks and is recommended to meet outside of school.
Y/n and Kageyama both gave an annoyed look before packing their bags for dismissal. After school, Y/N went straight to the library to complete all her homework given for the day, her mind not leaving the fact that she had to meet that volleyball obsessed psycho outside of school. Either way, it was for the grade. as long as she doesn't fail, it would be fine. Although she didn't have the setter’s number…
Y/n looked out of the library window to see the boys volleyball gym still practicing. She can't believe she's doing this. She can't believe she's actually going to the boy's volleyball gym just to find the person she hates most. Her hands slid the door open, a whole new scenery flashed across her eyes.
BAM!
The sound of a volleyball smashed the gym’s wooden floor. It was none other than Kageyama who had put all his anger on the ball. “geez… sooner or later this boy is gonna break something." The gray haired upperclassmen, Sugawara-senpai sighed,
“Oh? Who's this? Noya, do you know her?” Suga said to the libero beside him when he spotted the H/c haired girl standing at the door. “nope!” Nishinoya exclaimed, popping the ‘p’.
“uhm, sorry to disturb your training but may I speak to…that guy.. for a while?” Y/N pointed to the scowling setter while the two boys hid their laughs. She didn't want to say it. she didn't want to say his name.
Sugawara quickly called Kageyama over. the male was no't expecting to see Y/n standing at the door of the gym. He went over to the h/c coloured hair girl, ready to throw another insult till he was interrupted by her. “Look, don't get this the wrong way. Its all for our project. our teacher recommended us to meet outside school to complete it so I would need you number to give you heads up.”
“that's smooth.”
“shut the fuck up and just give me your number already.” “Fine.” the setter typed his number on Y/N’s device before turning his back and continued with practice.
Tumblr media
for the first two days, things were not going well, Y/N and Kageyama almost got kicked out of the library for arguing too loudly and they didn't even manage to complete at least one part of the assignment within two days.
On the third day, Y/N had enough. there was no point in insulting him anymore there's no point when the risk of them failing is high. “Yo, I think we should just call it a truce. us arguing is not making progress at all.” The boy just nodded and they both got along with no arguments, no insults.
As days went by, Y/N realised that she despised kageyama for nothing. Sure he was loud and annoying at times but he could be a tad bit motivational when he talks about his love for volleyball. the way his eyes would glim and glitter from thinking about the feeling of setting the ball. the way his lips would curl into a smile when the thought of being able to go back to practice one the project is done made Y/N's heart skip a beat.
who knew the cold, loud kageyama tobio would have such a cute smile.
Before she even realised it, she was falling. falling hard for the boy she once hated. She didn't think that her feelings could change but there she was, lying in bed thinking about him and his silly little sport.
Tumblr media
it was a matter of time till Kageyama found out. the way Y/N acted so differently around him made him wonder if she actually thought of them as friends.
the day the project was due, Kageyama couldn't wait to step foot in the gym where he'd almost planned to stay there overnight. Half way through the practice that he had longed for, The raven haired boy was called out by one of his upperclassmen, “Someone is finding you outside, kageyama, you can join back later alright?”
Much to his surprise, His former project parter was there, back leaning against the outer wall of the gymnasium as she crossed her arms waiting. “I thought you said you’d never want to see me again?” Tobio said, startling her, “what gives?”
“I know i said that but… i guess people change, i think?” She fiddled with her hands, “Look, i used to hate you. You and your addiction for volleyball. You and your scowling face. But, working with you for this project made me realised that i was just judging a book by its cover.”
Y/n shifted her eyes to the sandy ground.
“I think i like you kageyama.”
no response. The girl lifted up her head only to greeted with the sight of the the boy, covering his mouth as if he was trying to hold his laughter. "W-Whats so funny?"
"I was just pretending to be nice to you so we would get a passing grade, i did expect you to fall for me. HAHA you should have seen your face when you said that"
oh.
The setter's words stabbed Y/n's heart like a knife. Of course it was an act. after all, he hated her. She stood frozen, shoulders hunched as she lowered her gaze once again as if the weight of his words pressed her into the ground.
Y/n clutched onto her school bag, "It was a prank by the way." she retorted, turning around. "i didnt expect you to be that mean, kageyama." As soon as she said that, the girl walked away with a heavy heart.
Kageyama watched as she quickened her pace and disappeared from his horizon before returning to practice. Unbeknownst to him, his teammates were eavesdropping on his conversation, crowding around the setter when he stepped foot into the gym.
"Either way kageyama, you were too harsh with her." Hinata chipped in. Kaegeyama grabbed the shorter male by his hair causing him to yelp, "What do you know, dumbass."
"Hinata's right, kageyama. poor girl was holding back her tears." Suga patted him on the shoulder as he looked out the window. kageyama followed his actions.
"she said it was a prank."
"I really doubt that, kageyama."
Tumblr media
why couldn't he do anything?
"I think I like you, kageyama"
he was at loss for words, unable to say anything. He wanted to tell her 'i like you too' but when he opened his mouth, that disgustingly awful sentence came out instead.
-
It had been weeks after the 'confession', Y/N completely ignored him whenever he tried to approach her just like the past.
All he wanted was to apologise.
she would never know that.
the confession was real.
he would never know that.
they would never know that in every other universe, kageyama tobio and Y/N L/N would always fall in love.
they would never know.

desolate
/dĕs′ə-lĭt, dĕz′-/
adjective
1. Devoid of inhabitants; deserted
2. Barren; lifeless
Yeah, maybe that was it. Desolate. In this hotel room—small, furnished but empty—you set aside your phone and its little dictionary definition of what’s wrong with you and the definition imprints itself on your brain all over again. Hardly the first time you’ve known the meaning of the word, but perhaps the first you’ve recognized it in your face.
In high school, you’d occupied your time with almost nothing but studying. There had been friends, one or two, and a blip towards the end in the form of a boyfriend, but you had potential and didn’t need to focus on things like going out to karaoke or making out with a guy when you had exams to study for.
You had so much potential.
You recall, dimly, having memorized the definition for desolate one day among all your vocabulary. More than that, reciting it for a hopeless light in your life who just didn’t get all this school stuff.
Your nose wrinkles at the memory. Best not get caught up in that spiral, yeah?
Against your better judgment, you flop onto the hotel room bed face-first and sigh. What the fuck are you even doing here? None of this was necessary. None of this was planned for.
There’s, of course, the simple textbook facts of the situation: you attended a work event, and halfway through, went to the bathroom and just stared at yourself in the mirror—much like the way you spent the past half an hour in a hotel bathroom—went home, got in your car, and drove to a hotel precariously close to your hometown. Sure, there’d been some kind of internal monologue going on, but you don’t remember any of it anymore. Nothing beyond what you’ve known for the past six years:
Something is fundamentally wrong with you.
“So, what, we get in our car and drive away and don’t show up to work and hope it all works out?”
The desolate room does not answer the desolate you.

Some species of sea turtle have been observed returning to the beach where they were born in order to nest, a phenomenon known as “natal homing”. There are many theories as to how they are able to return to their birthplace…
Like the sea turtle, you swim through endless water and find yourself, of all places, back in Miyagi, staring at a house you only vaguely remember and wondering if your instincts really led you here, or if you’re staring at a random stranger’s house you’ve never been to. Maybe there’s more than one family with his last name in the area.
It looks like all the others—a house in the countryside, standard and homely. You were here… what? Three times? Five?
Not even in the double digits—you know that much. You and Noya had spent more time together at school, or at your house. Your parents hadn’t wanted you to spend too much time alone with a guy at his house. In hindsight, you kind of get it. His grandfather hadn’t exactly been the type to make sure you two were being good kids, or whatever.
Still, you run your fingers over the nameplate, the kanji of Nishinoya’s last name, and try to figure out why this, of all places, is where you’ve drifted to.
“[name]?”
You startle, looking to the voice. Familiar, yet matured. Perhaps a bit lower. Perhaps carrying an emotion you don’t recognize. That, you know, must be him.
You note with a barely-stifled laugh that Noya has not changed his hair in the years since you’ve seen him. Still that stupid, adorable tuft of dyed blond hanging down in his face. Good.
Then, the feeling passes, and the panic sets in.
What the fuck are you doing at your ex-boyfriend’s house?
“Noya,” you breathe. You nod to him, stunned.
“Holy shit, that’s actually you!” He’s closed the distance in an instant, swept you off your feet in a hug that has you crying out in surprise. When he sets you down, you stumble, trying to catch your brain before it falls out your head. He studies you with bright, sharp eyes. “What are you doing here?”
Ah. “Uh, yeah. About that? I… I have no idea.”
He blinks slowly, and then he’s laughing. “That’s not like you at all! Come on, if you’ve got the time to sit down, I’m sure we’ve got something around here to feed you with.”
“Feed me…? Wait, I…”
But he’s already grabbed your wrist, pulled you across the forbidden threshold and right to the front door. Maybe you should have thought about literally anything before showing up at his house.
Too late for regrets, you guess. You’re in way too deep for him to let you slip away now.
~
In your mind, Nishinoya is steepling his hands together like a stern employer trying to figure out the best way to admonish a bad employee. The image doesn’t really suit him, and you do know that, but you still feel like cubicle fodder waiting to get chewed out.
In reality, he’s resting his chin in his hand, watching you carefully as you run your thumb over the glass of water he’s given you and try not to meet his eyes. (It had taken quite a bit of debating to keep him from actually feeding you. The water was a concession in a valiant fight.)
“So, you don’t know what you’re doing?”
A slow nod.
“You don’t know what you’re doing.” The statement, repeated, does little to hide how astounded he is at the concept.
You sigh. It is easy and so, so heavy as the air escapes you. Maybe you can drown your errant thoughts in water until you understand just what, exactly, you’re trying to do here. You try, but no matter how much you drink, you still don’t have an answer. “Pretty much, yeah. I just sort of ended up here.”
He has an easy smile on his lips, sharp eyes taking you in. “After what?”
“What do you mean, after what?”
“I mean, it’s not like you to just run off and end up anywhere. You’re, you know, thoughtful and stuff! I’m not sure I’ve ever heard of you just doing something without at least three plans ready to go in case something went wrong.”
“I mean, there was you,” you admit with a laugh.
Shit. That was the wrong thing to say, but here you are, panicking and thinking you’ll make things even more awkward than you already feel, and there he is, smiling like he’s looking at…
What?
It isn’t until he’s leaning in further like he’s about to say something dirty that you realize your real mistake in that response.
“You didn’t think before you did me, huh?”
Your cheeks flare, and you hurriedly down the rest of the glass of water while you try to think of a suitable redirect. “You know what I meant!”
“Sure do! You meant—“
“Oh, hush.”
He laughs, and you fall into silence, trying to commit the sound of his laugh to memory.
That’s what sucks about this, oddly enough: you sit at his dining room table, holding a now-empty cup, and it’s just as easy as it always was. He tells you what he’s been up to: how he doesn’t play volleyball anymore (tragic—you loved watching him play) and he’s been traveling a lot (infuriating—you love to travel) and he’s dated once or twice since you last spoke, but nothing really lasting.
(heartbreaking.)
(you love—)
(you loved him when you left.)
“So,” he says, ever enthusiastic to redirect the conversation onto you, “what have you been up to?”
“Nothing, I guess.”
“Oh, come on. You’ve always been amazing. I bet you’ve been doing something awesome with that brain of yours. You wanted to write, right? How’s that going?”
Hah. Amazing. He’s only saying that because you were useful when you tutored him. “No, really. Nothing. Sales, I guess. Convincing people to give up money for a product I don’t believe in for a company I hate. I guess I’m up for a promotion soon. Really though, I think I’ve probably just been dead for the last… what, six years?”
You’d picked the number because it was when you graduated high school. That had made sense to you—college, too, had felt like nothing. No parties, no partners, just studying, exams, and keeping your body moving forward until you had a neat little degree in a field you didn’t care about. But when you spare a glance away from the window, where your attention has been glued in hopes of avoiding letting the awkwardness and pain of this whole situation actually hit you, it’s the first time since he ran into you that Noya isn’t smiling at you.
Oh yeah. And right before you graduated, you’d broken up with him.
“You broke up with me, you know,” he says after a long moment. “Are you saying you’ve been a ghost this whole time?”
And ouch. He’s right, and you hate that. It hadn’t been his fault you’d left. It’d been your insecurities, your inability to handle the weight of your parents’ disapproval, your unwillingness to fight for something that seemed so correct, your stunning realization that Noya would always shine too brightly for you to be the one standing beside him. He always thought you were amazing, but you were nothing compared to his whirlwind personality, his passion, his sense of life.
Maybe this would have been easier if you’d ever told him that.
“I don’t know what I’m saying. Probably just that high school was the last time I felt like a real person, and that ever since, I’ve just been going through the motions and slowly losing my mind and trying not to panic about the fact that not only do I not have any direction in life, I don’t even know how to enjoy it if I did.” Your words come out calm and metered. You try not to betray the worst of it.
For a moment, talking to him, you’d been able to forget the person you’ve been since graduation. You were always moving forward a step at a time, but at some point, you stopped being a hiker on your predetermined life path and just let yourself be a robot. Mechanical step after mechanical step. Just keep moving forward and you’ll get to where you’re going. When you get to where you’re going, you’ll take another stupid, empty step towards where you’re going now. Some successful career, some boring partner that your parents like, kids, wake up, go to sleep, another day, another day, another day doing exactly what you’re expected to do. Just keep following that bright, clear line. That bright, clear line to nowhere at all.
And then you stumbled. And now you’re here, again. Dizzy, sitting at the same table with the same guy.
At some point, you’d trailed off, staring at the table and searching for scars of a life well-used on its surface. You hear the shuffle of him standing over you, and look up to find him reaching out a hand to you. “Alright. Come on.”
“Come… on?”
He leans forward a bit more to take your hand and pull you up. “I’m taking you out to dinner.”
“Huh? Wait, but where?”
“Don’t know yet!”
He drags you out, and you stumble after him in mind and body.
“It’s one o’clock!”
“So we’ll scout places that look good while we get lunch. You don’t have anything to do, right?”
“Well, no, but—“
“Then we’re going!”
He pulls you right past the entryway, nearly has you out the front door before you can protest. “I’m not wearing shoes, Noya! You’re not wearing shoes!”
He only laughs, only pauses, only gives you a moment. “Get them on, then.”
“And do you even have your wallet?”
He blinks and pats his pockets. “Guess not! You’ve got until I’m back with my wallet to get your shoes on and decide to let this happen!”
Decide… to let this happen?
He disappears around the corner, deeper into the house, and at last you sigh, sitting to put your shoes on properly. You doubt he’ll be quick finding his wallet—if he’s anything like you remember (and so far, he’s exactly like you remember) then he has absolutely no idea where he put it last. If you didn’t think he’d absolutely drag you out the door once it was found, you’d kick your shoes back off and help him look.
After getting your shoes on, setting his out in ideal kicking-feet-into-without-stopping position, and five minutes of listening to him rustle about the house, you glance at a table in the entryway and smile at the sight of a plain black wallet in the dish. You inspect it, just in case it’s not his—there’s been no sign of Noya’s grandfather around, but almost nothing’s changed, so he probably still lives here. Better to check.
You open it, just to see that it’s got his ID in there and not someone else’s, and nearly slam it closed again immediately.
Yeah, it’s his missing wallet. ID and everything. And, in the little photo slot, a six-year-old photo of him in his volleyball jersey, million-volt smile on his face as you push him away with your own brilliant smile. He’d just won a game, and you’d been busy trying to get him, gross and sweaty, to stop getting all that gross and sweaty on you even as you laughed the entire time. Tanaka took the picture, you think—there’s a bit of thumb in the bottom right corner.
Noya keeps a photo of the two of you in his wallet. After six years without talking.
A noise bangs from somewhere else in the house, and you close the wallet and force down the warmth welling in your chest and rushing to your face. “All good?” you call out.
“I can’t find my stupid wallet!” he shouts back a moment later. He sounds a bit frustrated. “This isn’t going to work if I spend the whole day trying to—“
“Nishinoya,” you cut him off, half sing-song, “you left it by the door.”
No reply except the thudding of feet as he runs right up to you and plucks it from your hand. “There it is! I found it!”
“Oh, really? You found it?”
“Yep! Are your shoes on? We gotta go now!”
“Go where? You’re in an awful rush. Do you have plans or something?”
He kicks his shoes on and grabs your wrist again. “Nope! You’re gonna love it!”
~
Really a type of plankton, jellyfish possess extremely limited swimming abilities, if any at all, and rely on the currents to control their horizontal movements through the sea.
It occurs to you, as you make the trek to the bus stop, that you didn’t have to say yes to this. Well, really, it’s not like you said yes so much as didn’t say otherwise, and Noya, ever the trail-blazer, pulled you along for the ride. What’s even the difference in what you’re doing now and what you’ve been doing these past six years?
You barely make the bus. Nishinoya pays the fare for both of you, before you can protest, and when there’s only one open seat, he takes it.
“You’re such a gentleman,” you snort.
He responds by tugging you down into his lap. “I am!”
You’re stronger than you were in high school. Really, you are. You don’t collapse into emotions like embarrassment. You don’t let the sensation of being flustered consume you. You do not.
…you bury your face in your hands. “What are we doing right now?”
Always laughing. Always lighthearted. “What do you mean? We’re taking the bus someplace we can find some restaurants.”
“You know exactly what I mean!”
The bus passes over a bump, and he wraps an arm around your waist to steady you. “You know, you’ve barely changed at all.”
“Neither have you,” you fire back. You meant it as an accusation, but the words come out tender. “You’re still a complete hurricane.”
He laughs, his own tenderness bleeding through. “And you’re still not letting yourself have anything you want.”
“When have I ever—“
“I think you know.” His other arm comes around your waist, holding you in a loose hug, chin resting against your arm.
You try not to stiffen at all the contact. This, too, is something you haven’t felt in ages—simple, casual touch. He had always been that way, resting a hand on your shoulder, your back, running fingers through the ends of your hair, like if he stopped touching you, you’d run away.
Maybe he was right. Maybe he is right.
“You didn’t answer me before. Are you still writing? I’ve been keeping an eye out for your name on the shelves, you know.”
You rest a hand on his arm, half considering pushing his arm off. The bus stops, but apparently not at a stop Noya is interested in dragging you off at—he steadies you as the bus jolts, and as a few passengers file off, you consider admitting the answer.
“Poetry these days, mostly. It’s not like I’d ever get published if I went for it, so I just scribble out a few half-assed lines and—“
“See, stop that. That’s half your problem right there, you know!”
“Another seat just opened up, you know,” you mumble. If you try to fight him on this, he’ll end up talking you into these grand ideas that you’ll never be able to accomplish, and by the end of the day he’ll probably have you in love with him all over again, even though you know it would never work, even though you know you’d never really be anything—as an employee, as a person, as his. “We don’t have to do this… couple-y thing.”
“I want to, though. It’s nice, isn’t it?”
…it is. It really is.
“…I still like to write, but I never have time anymore. It’s work, recovering from work, getting ready for work, waiting to come home from work so I can prep lunches and wash my clothes so I have something to eat and wear at work. I don’t have energy for anything except meetings, emails, and phone calls where no one means anything they say.”
“Damn. No wonder you seem so lost. Why don’t you quit?”
“And do what? It’s not like I have a dream job. I just want to get by and survive—“
“Why? You’re not happy. Don’t you want to do something more than survive?”
“I don’t even know what that would look like, Noya.”
He says everything so simply. Just quit. Just move on. Just move forward. He’s lucky, you think. He doesn’t know what it’s like to have parents planning out your entire life for you.
…okay, that was mean. Add that to the list of things that are wrong with you.
He sighs, shaking you gently in his hold. “It’s worse than I thought. Hey, [name], why’d you come here?”
“I told you already. I have no idea.”
“Alright. Adding it to the list. Today, you’re experiencing adventure for the first time in six years, and you’re gonna figure out what you were doing standing outside my house at noon on a Saturday. If I have my way, you’re also going to be quitting your job and starting a promising career as the greatest writer Japan’s ever seen, renowned the world over, but we can get to that some other time if you want!”
“Noya, I’m not—“ Your words die in your throat as his fingers slide between yours. You hadn’t realized your hand was sliding up his arm, but here he is, holding hands with you like it’s nothing.
God. How old are you, again?
~
Lunch ends up being crepes. Never mind the fact that crepes are not a meal, not even when Noya suggests buying two each—he proudly declares it lunch, and so lunch it must be. You’re lucky that he graciously allowed you to get a table, though he’d insisted on grabbing one outside even as the sky above has started to loom with rainclouds.
“And what’ll we do if it rains?” you retort drily as he sits across from you.
“We’ll figure it out,” he grins, sliding you a menu. “Dry off after we get rained on, not before.”
You snort. “How about we just try not to get rained on?”
“Then we would be sitting inside, and you wouldn’t get to look up at the clouds while we eat! You always liked the way the sky looked before it rained, right?”
A soft huff leaves you, a small smile unbidden. “You actually remember that? I think I said that to you, like, one time.”
He nods. “Only had to say it once! Besides, I caught you staring up at the sky in the rain more than once.”
“And yet, I had to repeat the same information for you so many times, only for you to still get it wrong on test day…”
“Hey! I was distracted!”
“You weren’t supposed to be,” you tease.
“What was I supposed to do? There was this gorgeous person sitting across from me telling me all these complicated things in a nice voice. I’m a simple man!”
Though your cheeks heat at the declaration, you can’t help but laugh. “Clearly.”
“Yeah. Clearly.” For just a moment, he’s soft, unbearably soft, and you fear looking at him. Quick, change the subject before you have to acknowledge whatever’s going on here!
“S-so!” Smooth! You’re doing great, sweetie! “Any idea what you’re going to get?”
He slaps a finger down on the menu without looking. “A… monte… monte…”
You sigh and peer over to look at the fanciful English he’s pointing to. “A Monte Cristo crepe?”
“Yeah!”
“Did you read the part where it’s got onions as a main ingredient? Don’t you hate onions?”
He wrinkles his nose, but stands firm. “I’m sure!”
You huff softly. “Alright. Far be it from me to stop you.”
“What about you? Make a pros and cons list for each menu item yet?” he teases.
“For your information, I don’t have to do that when ordering in restaurants. That’s for big decisions. But…” You sigh. “I haven’t eaten out in a while. It stresses me out.”
“Why?”
“So let’s say I pick something that looks good, and it sucks. I won’t eat it because it sucks, but then I feel like I’ve insulted the chef and wasted my time and money.”
He narrows his eyes at you. “If you don’t like it, you don’t like it. But at least you’ll know! When’s the last time you actually ate out like this?”
You bite your lip thoughtfully. When was it?
“I… think I did a celebration dinner with my parents when I graduated?”
“College?”
“No, high school. We didn’t celebrate when I graduated college.”
Once again, he’s staring at you in blank disbelief. “[name], that was six years ago.”
You flush. “Yeah, so?”
“That’s so sad. What have you been doing? I’m about to take you on a food tour just so you can catch up on all the restaurants you’ve been missing.”
You wrinkle your nose. “Please, no. I can’t eat that much.”
“Then we’ll spread it out!”
“Noya…”
The waiter drops in at exactly the wrong time. Flustered, you stumble your way into lemonade for you, apple cider for him, and then, as he’s confidently mispronouncing “Monte Cristo” to the waiter, you panic and end up ordering some curry crepe, a concept which intrigues and horrifies you.
“How’d you even find this place? Seems weird for there to be some half-French, half-English upscale crepe restaurant out in Miyagi.”
“What do you mean, how did I find it? We found it together. I’ve never eaten here.”
Right. He’s completely winging everything. “Amazing.”
“Right?”
Drinks come, and you sigh into a masterful lemonade and try to think of things to say to fill the space between you and your ex. (You have to try not to forget that bit—that this isn’t natural, that this can’t lead anywhere. For your sake and his.) “So, how’s your grandfather been?”
The easy smile on Noya’s lips drops. “Oh. He died late last year. Age caught up to him, I guess.”
Oh. Fuck. “Noya, I’m so…”
He shakes his head. “Don’t apologize. Crazy bastard had a hell of a time of it. He’d hate for me to sit around feeling bad about it, anyway.”
He wouldn’t want you to pity him. Doesn’t want you to pity him. You know that. But…
Did Noya ever talk about any other family members when you knew him? You know he lived in that house with his grandfather. No siblings. Never mentioned any cousins. You know he didn’t grow up around his parents, either…
Has he been alone this whole time?
You reach across the table. Place a hand on his. “Maybe I’ll visit more often.”
In silence, the two of you sit and wait for your crepes.
~
The crepes come out, and with them, new points of conversation that carry you both to finishing—all the way until Noya manages to argue you into letting him pay. He pulls you along, a bit slower than before, a bit easier. You can’t help but let him take your hand and bring you wherever the wind is leading him, half-pitying him and half from the complete lack of will to fight him all day.
“I told you you weren’t gonna like what you ended up ordering.”
“You liked it though, right?”
Predictably, he’d taken one bite of the crepe and instantly realized his mistake. Far too much onions for his tastes. Your curry crepe had been… well…
Let’s just say that you weren’t especially upset when Noya asked you to swap.
“It was really good, if you like onions.”
“I know what I like! Onions aren’t it!”
It’s easy like this, and the day really is nice. There’s rain on the breeze and in the clouds, a pleasant scent and a comforting gloom over the day. You tease and joke back and forth, hand in hand like it’s natural, and it is. It’s easy, being around him. It was easy back then, too. So easy it scares you.
You’re just waiting for the bottom to fall out.
You’re waiting for the bottom to fall out, and it does—with a shriek and loud laughter, rain chases the both of you underneath a tree and within sight of the nearest bus stop, soaking you both through to the bone.
“See?” Noya says, grinning as he pulls you a little closer underneath the tree. “Now we can worry about getting dry.”
“You’re unbelievable,” said with a smile. “What is all this meant to prove again?”
“Well, why’d you come here?”
“Here? You dragged me out here.”
“Yeah, but why’d you come back to Miyagi? I’m just saying, my doorstep is not the first place I expected you to turn up on when the inevitable nervous breakdown hit.”
You fall silent, shiver in the rain. It’s peaceful. You try to focus on watching for a bus, anything except the question you were asked.
“[name].”
You glance at him, yelp a little to find how close the two of you have gotten. This close, in this kind of situation, it’d be only natural for you to lean in, for you to brush your lips against his.
God, have you even kissed anyone since you burned everything down?
You’re not doing this. You’re not falling into a hurricane like him again. You won’t be able to come back if you do that. (Especially with such a fucking cliché.)
You turn away. “You already asked me that. I told you before, I don’t know.”
He hums thoughtfully. Drapes his jacket over both of your heads in an attempt to keep you both from looking any more rained out than you already do.
“I’m just saying, if you want my opinion, you’re going to have to do a lot more adventuring and a lot less sales for a company you hate if you want to remember what ‘happy’ is supposed to feel like.”
“Not sure I ever knew what that was like to begin with.”
“Never?”
“When I was a kid, maybe.”
He tilts his head. “Not even when we dated? Is that why you broke up with me?” He sounds genuinely curious. Would it feel better, you wonder, if he sounded hurt?
You wince. “I didn’t mean… I just…” A sigh. “It’s more like, I was too afraid to let myself be happy when I was with you.” In the close proximity, you find it easier to let your head rest against him a little. “Please don’t misunderstand. I like you. I probably would have been really happy with you if there weren’t something fundamentally wrong with me as a person.” Shit. You definitely misspoke there.
“I don’t really know how to teach you to relax a little, but it’s gotta be easier now that you’re out of your parents’ house. Maybe you need to go somewhere completely new. Get a fresh outlook.”
You arch a brow his way. At least he’s not commenting on your slip of the tongue. “What are you suggesting, Nishinoya?”
“I’m leaving for Italy. Six weeks. That’s enough time for you to plan your little heart out, right?”
“Italy.”
He nods, as though it’s the most obvious thing in the world. “Italy.”
“And if I came back after six years to kill you or something?”
He barks a laugh, stark against the pouring rain. His eyes linger on you. The part of you that’s charitable to yourself thinks he might be mentally undressing the clothes sticking to your skin, though you know it’s more of a challenging look. “I’d like to see you try.”
~
One soaking wet bus ride back to Noya’s house doesn’t save you from this little adventure plan of his. Instead, you’re given a towel or two to dry off with and a change of clothes from his closet, as though it’s the most natural thing in the world. The way he acts, everything is.
So now here you are, wearing a shirt far too large for you that you’ve wrestled into looking somewhat nice with Nishinoya’s jeans. It slides off your shoulder a bit no matter how many times you fix it. You admit, you do manage to pull it off, but the whirlwind of the day still has your head spinning with just how wrong this situation is.
You’re supposed to be at work right now. You should be in office clothes, sitting at a desk in a too-cold cubicle that you never got around to decorating, perfect and polished while you tap out yet another perfectly-balanced email, three-quarters professional, one-quarter gentle familiarity to lure your clients into a false sense of security. Not standing in your ex’s bathroom, tying one of his t-shirts at the waist, adjusting your hair to look closer to “decent” than “drowned rat”. This, this day, this situation, was never supposed to happen.
Is this whole day going to be a stumble? How long will it be until you catch yourself and get back to moving forward? When you do, will you still have a place at your desk?
Do you even want one?
A knock at the bathroom door. “If you give me your clothes, I’ll get them started drying,” his voice filters through the door.
All of these actions have been so easy. Your wet clothes, picked up from where they hung shower-side. Easy to wring them out a bit more to keep from making the floor worse. Easy to open the door. Easy to hand them to him.
Nothing had ever been particularly hard before him, but falling in love with him had been just like this: easy.
Maybe the first easy thing you ever remember.
~
So you go along with it. Another bus ride, this one less crowded than before. This time with umbrella in hand—just one, because of course Noya didn’t even think about it on the way out the door—and a determination to figure out what the hell you’re doing here to begin with.
Everything is as everything was, you think. Shops lining the street, one familiar sight in particular, one of two things you had never had the strength to deny yourself back in school. At the sight of the bookshop, you tug Nishinoya to a stop. You’re a little surprised when he actually does stop.
“Sorry, can we head in? I used to love this place back in school.” You nod to the bookshop. He smiles and lets you lead the way.
“I think that’s the first time you’ve done something selfish today,” he comments as you lead him in.
You refuse to meet that one with a reply.
The shop is exactly as you remember. High stacks of books, books, books everywhere. The scent of old books and a slight spice in the air, scents blending and mixing until, for just a moment, you’re in high school again, marveling at rare finds coming through the used books section and finding some new world to escape into.
You sigh into the scent and disappear into the stacks. Noya is kind enough to humor you as you pick through, find a title or two to take up to the register. If you really do come back to visit from time to time, you’ll have to make sure to stop in here when you do. The old woman at the register hasn’t aged a day. She smiles when she sees you the same way you’re smiling as you approach her.
“Is that little [name]?” she asks, though you both know she already knows the answer. “Why, I haven’t seen you around here in ages! You’ve grown so well!”
“It’s wonderful to see you again, ma’am.”
“Just as polite as you always were. Find everything you were looking for?”
She’s got a poster on the counter by the register. You steal a glance, then meet her eyes with a smile. “Sure did! I’m glad to see you guys are still here.”
Her smile turns bitter. “I’m not sure how much longer, I’m afraid.”
Ah. There’s the heartbreak, panic, fear. “What?”
“It can’t be helped. It’s getting difficult to watch this place in my age, and my Taka’s not been doing so well lately. The kids are all off worrying about their own lives now…”
Your chest twists at the thought. “Can’t you find help?”
“We’ve been looking, but…”
It cannot possibly be this easy.
There’s no way.
“But…”
Noya slides a few bills over the counter while you’re busy fighting a war in your head.
“Oh, and who’s this? You’ve got to introduce your boyfriend, dear.”
“Oh, he’s not—“
“It’s nice to meet you, Granny! I’m Nishinoya.”
Already, they’re spiraling off into some side conversation, too fast for you to make the obvious correction as the old lady makes your—Noya’s—change. She tucks a little bookmark into the front of the stack, and you slide your new books into your bag in resignation. It becomes his space as easily as it was yours, and somehow, it doesn’t feel wrong.
After you’ve left, you consider clearing the air, bringing up… whatever that was.
…it’s not worth the argument.
Another few shops, another few stops. Another few steps forward, another few hours, and yet again you’re sitting across from him, fretting over being underdressed at the restaurant you’ve both happened across and settled on.
“Are you sure we’re dressed alright?” you mutter.
“They let us in the door, didn’t they?”
…yeah, you don’t know what you expected him to say.
“Besides, you look great,” he adds. His eyes dance over you, over the bare skin on your shoulder where you’ve finally given up on pulling the neck of his shirt back up. “I think you wear that better than I ever have.”
You ignore him in favor of another menu, another decision to make that feels earth-shattering. At least you’re aware you’re being ridiculous when it comes to ordering. Really, what’s going to change if you get the fun-looking drink you might not like over the safe one? How bad would it really be if you didn’t like your meal that much?
Drinking too much. Discovering a new allergy. Food poisoning—
“You’re overthinking again,” he teases.
“I’m always overthinking,” you grumble.
“Maybe you need to take the edge off.”
He’s right, and you know that in theory. But in the practice and the day-to-day, you stare at the drinks menu and feel your chest constrict with that itch of anxiety all over again.
“You’ve just got to jump in before you can talk yourself out of it. Come on, [name], let me distract you a little.”
…you don’t think he’s trying to flirt, but your face feels hot all the same. And, well, shit, Noya is a great distraction. He’s a bit less keyed-up than he was back then, but he’s still endlessly charming, endlessly easy to get wrapped up in if you lower your guard even a moment.
“…fine. So what’s this you were saying earlier about Italy?”
His eyes light up. You rest your chin in your palm, glance over the menu again as he tells you about his dreams of traveling the world, how he wants to seek new thrills and see all these new things. You can see every potential disaster of the situation—for one, he has a house back home that someone’s going to need to care for while he’s away, and he doesn’t seem to have thought of that. For another, he’s got an inheritance and no passive income to work with. His grandfather’s leftover money may be substantial enough for this to work in the short term, but longer-term…
Well, one day, he’s going to run headfirst into a hole he can’t climb out of himself.
The thought scares you. Who’s going to be there for him when that happens?
The waiter stops by. Before you can talk yourself out of it, you pick out something alcoholic and fruity and try not to preen under Noya’s delighted approval.
“I’ve never seen you drunk before. Looking forward to it,” he grins. This time, you’re sure he means it flirtatiously, given the wicked gleam in his eyes.
You reach across the table to bat at his arm. “Keep looking, then. I don’t plan on getting drunk tonight. Just buzzed enough to put up with you.”
“Well, that’s no fun. I wanted to know what you’re like when you finally let loose.”
“Excuse you, I can be plenty fun without getting drunk off my ass.”
“Then let’s see it.”
Drinks come out, food orders are placed. You get your margarita halfway down before the buzz starts really setting in, a pleasant warmth blossoming through you. At least now when Noya makes your face hot with some offhanded comment, you can blame it on something other than your own weak heart.
“You know, this is the most adventurous thing I’ve done since I dated you,” you admit once you’re both walking back to the bus stop. Fully sober you would never have this conversation. You recognize that, but there’s enough pleasant fuzz in your head that for once you do not give nearly enough of a fuck to stop yourself. The night is warm, maybe even romantic. “This whole… running around, stopping at random restaurants, getting drenched in the rain without an umbrella. All that.”
He’s got this soft look in his eyes as he regards you. “Really? I can’t say I’m surprised. You were always worrying about everything.”
You snort. “Someone had to.”
“We were kids, though. You probably could have left at least some of that worrying to your parents.”
“Believe it or not, they gave nearly all of that worry to me. On purpose, I think.” You sigh, lean against him just a touch. Your balance never was all that great sober. “I had to be perfect. You were that one little blip.”
“Hey, it felt perfect to me.”
“Did I make a mistake, do you think?”
He looks a little wounded at that. To your credit, he’s definitely misinterpreting. “Dating me?”
“No. Leaving you.”
He pauses, an awkward motion that has you both stumbling just a bit. He’d drank over dinner, too—you’re both buzzed, and the bubbly, floaty feeling ebbs out as you stare at each other. “Why do you say that?”
“I just… I thought about it a lot,” you mumble. “What it would have been like. If I’d just stayed, instead of letting the thought of my parents scare me into running away.”
He huffs a soft laugh and winds his arm around your shoulder. “I thought about it, too. Come on. You don’t need to make it back to the hotel alone; I’ve got a guest bedroom you can use tonight. That, and I’ve still got your clothes.”
Oh. Right.
You nod and let him walk you back to his home.
~
“Have you figured anything out yet?” he asks as he finds another oversized t-shirt and a pair of athletic shorts for you to sleep in. “Gotten even a little closer to figuring out how to do something you actually feel like doing?”
“I had fun,” you mumble in reply. “I know that much, at least.”
“Good. That was mostly the point.” He hands the clothes over to you. They’re more neatly folded than you would have given him credit for.
“Mostly?”
“Well,” he grins, “I also wanted to spend the day with you. Didn’t figure you’d ever agree if I didn’t drag you out before you could think about it too hard.”
“It was nice,” you admit. “Thank you. For all of it. I… I still don’t know what I’m going to do tomorrow, though.”
“Is it so bad listening to what you feel like doing every once in a while, though?”
“If I knew what I felt like doing, maybe.” You linger awkwardly in his doorway, bounce your shoulder rhythmically against the frame. “You’ve got your work cut out for you if you think one day is gonna get me that in tune with my brain.”
“That’s why I asked you to come to Italy with me.” He tilts his head, some question lingering unspoken. “Try it now, though. What does [name] feel like doing right now?”
He’s close to you. Too close. He’s close, and pretty, and magnetic, and—
“[name] feels like doing something stupid.”
His grin widens. “Nice to meet you. My name’s Nishinoya Yuu, and I’ve been told on more than one occasion that I am pretty damn stupid.”
—fuck it. You grab him by the collar of his shirt and kiss him before you can talk yourself out of it.
He reciprocates in kind, an eager hand coming to settle on your waist like it’s been waiting to rest there all night. You kiss him hot, heavy, open-mouthed; let your hands slide from gripping his collar to locking loosely behind his neck. When you’re both out of breath, he pulls back and leans in to whisper into your neck:
“Why did you come here, [name]?”
It’s hard to think with his breath on your neck, his hands on your body leaving your skin on fire where he touches, but you are great at thinking and finally off the deep end enough to admit it.
“I wanted to remember what it was like to feel alive,” you breathe out into his ear. His lips brush your throat, and you let out a breathy whine. “You’re the only person who ever—who ever seemed to know how to do that.”
“Let me show you how to let go, then.”
There’s no illusions about what he means. Not this time, not with his lips dancing down your neck to your exposed shoulder. Not with his hips pressing into yours, not with his fingertips toying with the edge of his shirt you’re wearing, and not with his fingertips brushing the bare skin at your waist.
You nod and hope you won’t regret it.
~
If there’s regret to be had, you expect you’ll see it in the light of morning. As it is, Noya returns from the bathroom and collapses right onto you, a lithe arm pulling you into his chest.
“I’m glad you came back,” he mumbles into your hair. You’re both tired—it’s late, and that might have been the best workout you’ve gotten in a while.
“Because you missed me, or because you got to fuck me?” you tease, sliding a hand over his.
“I missed you,” he replies without missing a beat. “Not too late to come travel the world with me. Quit your job and feel peace for once in your life.”
“Peace? With you around? Not likely. Besides, I’m renting a place in Tokyo. I can’t meet rent if I quit my job.”
He laughs and pulls you in a little closer. “Then just Italy, and you can go back to the way you felt before you turned up on my doorstep looking more lost than I’ve ever seen anyone in my life.”
You sigh. “When you’re traveling the world, who’s gonna take care of your house? It doesn’t seem like you’re selling it, are you?”
“Italy, come home, we’ll break in the place, and then I’ll come home to you between trips while you work on writing an international bestseller.”
Your heart flutters at the thought. Admittedly… it’d solve a lot of the problems you have with his little “plan”.
“And how do you suppose I pay for being alive aside from not having rent?”
“Ask that old lady at the bookshop if you can help at the store.”
“Why do you have an answer for everything?”
“It’s okay if things fall into place once in a while, you know.”
You sigh into him. There’s too many unknowns. How is he going to keep paying for traveling? What if the book never works out? If there’s no space for you at the bookshop? If—
He nuzzles into your neck. “I’m waiting on an answer, baby…”
“It’s late, Noya. I’ll think about it.”
“Do me a favor and think yourself into something for once, instead of out of it. I might die if you leave again.”
He presses one last kiss into the back of your neck before you both draft off, sore and exhausted.
There’s one thing, at least, you can be sure of, at least for tonight: you’re glad you came here.
~
Epilogue
“You’re looking much better,” your coworker nods to you as you settle back into your desk. “Get some much-needed rest?”
You nod your reply. “I did, thanks. Sorry for disappearing so suddenly. That cold was killer. Think I slept about fourteen hours straight.”
She snorts. “Man, no wonder you weren’t answering your phone. Well, I’m glad you’re feeling better.”
“Yeah. Thanks.”
She wanders off to her own desk. You take a long sip of your drink, stretch a bit, and get right to your stupid little emails.
You tap away, pausing between sentences to consider, to answer the phone, to sip your drink. Occasionally, to tab over to some other draft when you worry a passing coworker might see exactly what you’re writing. At one or two points, over to your web browser, either to the wikiHow article you’re referencing, or to one of the many other tabs: your online banking, to confirm that this isn’t going to completely kill you (it won’t—all work and no play gives Jack a hefty savings account), or to any number of other wonderful things on the Internet that you suddenly feel comfortable accessing with the letter you’re drafting in the background.
It takes an hour to settle. The letter is drafted, all the right people are copied. You’ve triple checked everything, gotten all your things already slid into your bag or in a box to carry out with you. Made sure everything you need to leave behind is in clear view on your desk. You’ve even prepped an auto-response on your email client so people know who to bother, if not you. It’d take three, maybe four clicks to blow up your life.
You can’t do it.
You reach for your cell and dial.
Noya, despite all that worries you about him, has always been an early riser. He picks up on the second ring. “Hello?”
“Distract me,” you order in lieu of a greeting.
You hear laughter, a slight shuffle. “From what?”
“Doesn’t matter. Just distract me.”
“Ah, you’re doing something you don’t want to talk yourself out of. I’m proud of you!” You hear the smile in his voice, close your eyes to try to visualize it. “Am I allowed to ask what you’re up to? Where you are?”
“No and no. If I tell you, I’ll back out by the time I finish saying it.”
“I get it. Hey, do you still have that mark on your neck from when I—“
Your cheeks burn, fingers dancing along the bruise in question. It had been a bitch to cover with makeup this morning. You’re still not convinced you did so successfully, but no one’s commented on it yet, at least. “No thanks to a certain someone. I still can’t believe you did that.”
“Hey, you said you felt like doing something stupid. Who was I to deny you?”
“Cheeky bastard.” You smile, lean back in your chair a little bit. Click ‘send’. “Oh god. I did it.”
“Am I allowed to ask what you did now?”
“I might throw up. Not sure yet. Hey, how do you feel about renting bikes?”
“Bikes?”
“In Italy. I was looking up, like, bucket lists and stuff, and there’s this road, the Appian way? You can rent bikes and bike it. Apparently, it’s pretty old, and there’s this café we could eat at, and—“
You hear the thunk of something falling in the background of the call. “You’re coming!?”
“Well, I just emailed my resignation letter to my boss and HR, and I can see him panicking in his office from here, so you better have meant it. Here in a minute or two, he’s probably going to call me in, or come yell at me at my desk—“
“When’s your resignation effective? Did you give a notice?”
“Effective as soon as he stops panicking.”
A bark of laughter sounds in your ear. “So if he comes to yell at you, just leave. You already quit, anyway. What’s he gonna do?”
“Good point. Leaving now.” You stand, scoop up your bag. “I have two months left on my lease. If you didn’t mean that thing about me housesitting while you’re off seeing the world, speak now before I call my landlord and let him know I’m canceling that, too.”
“All yours, but your rent is walking around without pants whenever I’m home.”
You roll your eyes. Pause to wave at your boss on your way out the door. If he shouts after you, you don’t hear it. You’ve got a trip to Italy to plan.

sunflower and marigold but specifically from ur hcs!!
also im sorry it took me so long to ask you ur response got buried :( but I HAVE A VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION I WAS HOPING U WERE IN A SUGA MOOD
if you guys teach at the same school, do ur students know abt ur relationship? or is a secret thing? how do they react when they find out? do you guys come and bother each others classes or keep it just for yourselves? any and all details are welcome pls talk as long as u want
also also i have another one not related to teaching
if you guys were to spend a night out, what would it look like? do u get fancy or is it casual? what are you doing? how long are you out? is it a one activity thing or a bunch of stuff together? how often do you go out? once again any and all details okay thank you
self ship asks !
get ready for a novel molly ily
I just did sunflower here
marigold - what is your favorite picture, video, and/or moment of your f/o?
ok this may be cheating but I have multiple ok- one picture I adore is us graduating college together <33 (he had more chords than me and no I'm still not over that- fucking overachiever uGH) but a picture that is us in our adult lives now that I love is one that probably hinata or his friends took of us. at a bar and completely unwarranted but the way he's looking at me molly <333 moment is hands down when he told me he was going to marry me one day in college hehe
ok now onto the teacher stuff!!
yes we do work at the same school!! and I know wild youth is both of us being 5th grade teachers, but I genuinely see him teaching younger grades like 2nd or maybe even kinder instead (god speed to him could never be me) the little kids don't give af about us but my 5th graders are NOSY and ask wayyyy too many questions about it. it's not that it's a secret per say but we definitely don't talk about it much. usually he leaves it to me to tell my students if I want to because 2nd graders don't care at all like "ok cool when's lunch??" so he just stopped telling them lmao. usually depends on the class if I tell them or not, some kids I know will ask WILD questions so I may not say one year but it depends! I also think it's cute that most would've had him in 2nd as well!! some kids that really enjoyed having him will stop by his room on the way to mine and ask <33 like "how was your weekend??? what did you guys do??"
ok non-teaching related stuff!!
a lot of our outings are super casual! keeping to wild youth, I think we would do something similar and go out on friday for a drink and just RANT about the school week to get it out of system. but straying away from teaching stuff, we LOVE a good winery or museum!! art museums when we're not exhausted are always so fun!! and sometimes we may go thrifting as well!! (we barely do this. we can't be trusted to not spend a lot of money.) we'll do maybe one fancy date a year?? it's also expensive so we'll probably save up for it so we can actually enjoy ourselves (teacher salary woes I'm crying) so we mainly stick to casual!! we also love hanging out with his hs friends! whenever hinata or noya are in town you can bet we are 10000% going out with them! asahi may come over sometimes too (not the biggest fan of him character wise but he is wholesome and I do love that) he's like us and likes to keep things really casual and we'll usually all end up getting hammered a side note for getting hammered: hinata and I have most definitely have drinking competitions where he ALWAYS thinks he can out drink me (he can't) and suga gets so peeved at it lmaooooo like "why tf do you encourage him????? he's a light weight and YOU'RE NOT YOU KNOW HE'LL GET BLACKOUT??"

~Back In The Game~
~Chapter Thirty-Three~
-Masterlist-
What happens when a girl who loves volleyball joins a boys' volleyball club? Does she find love? Will she relive her past or move forward? Join (L/N) (Y/N) on a journey with fun twists and turns.
I don't own Haikyuu or any of the characters.
Tumblr media
-Last Time-
“I know you guys will do great. I believe in you guys.” You smile. Yamaguchi blushes and Tsukishima’s ears turn the slightest bit pinker. “Well, I better let you guys get on your way. Don’t want the other two to use all the hot water.” You say as you begin to walk away. “See ya guys tomorrow!” You wave.
-Next Day-
“Feet!! Your feet!! Watch ‘em!! Don’t let ‘em stop!! You’re just swinging your arms around!!” Coach Ukai yells, watching the boys practice.
“Sensei.” Kiyoko says to Takeda as the two of you walk into the gym, each carrying a bag.
“Hm?” Takeda looks at the two of you. “Ah! They’re done?” He asks excitedly.
“Yes. They’ve been repaired and sent out to the cleaners.” Kiyoko replies. “These should be all the uniforms.”
-
Ukai picks up a uniform and admires it. “So we still have just these, huh? I wish we had another set for away games.”
“These weren’t done in time for our practice game with Aoba Johsai.” Daichi says.
“These were the ones I saw on TV! The Little Giant wore one!” Hinata exclaims.
“Okay. I’ll hand them all out!” Takeda announces. After the uniforms have been handed out you see that Noya is already in his.
“Ooh!! Noya-san is in all orange! That really sticks out!” Hinata exclaims.
‘When did he get changed?’ You, Suga, and Asahi wonder.
“Well, yeah! That’s because I’m the star player!” Noya says confidently as you chuckle and playfully roll your eyes.
“Whoa! The star player?!” Hinata asks impressed.
“Idiot!” Kageyama begins. “Liberos get subbed in and out a whole lot during a game so they wear different colors to make it easy to spot them.”
“H-Hey! I knew that! I totally knew that already!” Hinata says before staring at Kageyama’s jersey, number 9. He then looks at his own, number 10. “Kageyama gets a single-digit number!”
“I knew he’d say that.” Tanaka and Tsukishima say.
“Be happy that you’re getting a uniform at all as a rookie!” Kageyama says.
“I-I know…” Hinata replies.
“Oh, okay. So you don’t remember the number, huh?” Daichi asks.
“You did only watch him once on TV, I guess.” Suga says.
“Huh?” Hinata looks at the two.
“Can I tell him?!” You ask excitedly. Hinata looks at you confused.
“Sure.” Daichi says with a chuckle.
“When the Little Giant played in the Spring Tournament…he wore number 10…” You explain. Hinata looks at you, processing your words.
“!!” He looks at the back of his jersey, then holds it up admiringly. He quickly looks at Ukai. “Coach, did you plan this?!”
“Nope. Total coincidence.”
“Then it’s a fate!”
“He said it was a coincidence.” Kageyama says.
“Don’t be jealous, Kageyma-kun. It’s okay.”
“Why would I be jealous of you?!” Before you can try to de-escalate things, Ukai speaks, getting everyone’s attention.
“By the way…back when Hinata’s idol, The Little Giant, was playing…that’s when Karasuno was at the best it’s ever been. But..they still never managed to beat Nekoma. Not even once. The last practice game they played should’ve been a loss too, if I remember right. It all ended with us losing. This time we’re gonna break that streak.”
“!! Yes, Coach!!” Everyone relies.
-Later-
Hinata is sitting, staring intently at his jersey. He’s staring so intently that it causes Kageyama to shiver and whirl around to look at Hinata.
“Hey. Don’t get so nervous you puke again.” Kageyama says.
“?! H-Hey! I’m not gonna puke!”
-May 6th, 8:50am-
-Karasuno General Sports Park, Gymnasium-
The boys are walking up to the front of the building, followed by Takeda and Ukai.
“Sensei.” Ukai says with an intense look on his face.
“Yes?” Takeda replies.
“I don’t smell too much like tobacco smoke, do I? I sprayed so much air freshener on this thing it’s practically soaked.”
“...” Takeda looks at him deadpanned. “No, you’re fine! You have a very lovely lavender scent about you!”
“Dang it! I knew I should’ve used the unscented one!”
“! Line up!” Daichi announces as something ahead catches his attention. The boys run ahead and line up next to each other in front of a set of boys dressed in red tracksuits. On the back of their jackets the word ‘Nekoma’ is printed in big white letters.
“BWAH?!” Hinata expresses as he stands across from Kenma. The rest of the boys stop and look at Hinata questioning. He covers his mouth.
“Line up for the greeting!” Diachi instructs.
“Nice to meet you!!” Karasuno calls.
“Thanks for having us!!” Nekoma replies. Some of the Nekoma players begin to go inside, including Kenma.
“Kenma!” Hinata calls as he follows the boy.
“Ah.” Kenma stops and turns to Hinata.
“Y-You’re on the Nekoma team?!”
“Hm? Yeah.”
“Aww! Why didn’t you tell me?”
“You didn’t ask.”
“...But when you left you said “See you later,” right? You knew where I’m from!”
“Yeah. Your shirt had ‘Karasuno High School’ written on it.”
“ULG!”
“Hey Hey Hey?! What business you got with our setter eh?” A figure appears behind Kenma, making Hinata jolt. The boy is 5’9” with short, black hair with a mohawk that is dyed blonde. He has an intimidating look on his face.
“Hey.” Kenma says.
“Um! I-I’m sorry—” Hinata says scared.
“Him?” Tanaka begins, appearing next to Hinata with his own intimidating look. “What about you, huh? What business do ya got with our rookie?”
“Tanaka-san?!” Hinata says shocked by his sudden appearance.
“Wha’choo lookin’ at punk?” The Nekoma player asks Tanaka.
“You, City Slicker. You tryin’ ta start somethin’, huh?” Tanaka replies.
“The game is what’s going to be starting, Tanaka.” Suga begins. “We’re here to play them, not fight them. And stop calling people “City Slickers.” It’s lame.”
“!!” Tanaka pales.
“Yamamoto, quit picking fights with everybody. It makes you look dumb.” A 5’5” boy with short sandy blonde hair scolds.
“...” Yamamoto pales.
“I’m really sorry about that. Some of our guys can do embarrassing things.” The blonde Nekoma player apologizes to Suga, rubbing the back of his neck.
“No, no. I apologize. That was an embarrassing thing for one of ours to do too.” Suga apologizes as well.
“...” Tanaka and Yamamoto look down embarrassed.
“HWAAA?!” Yamamoto exclaims as he clutches his heart, causing Tanaka to flinch. Yamamoto is looking at something behind Tanaka. It’s Kiyoko. The two make eye contact and Kiyoko bows her head slightly.
“AAAIIIEEEE!!” Yamamoto begins to blush and freak out. “G-G-Girl! Manager! HOT!! Guh! Gyaawaaah!!!”
“Woot! They have a pretty girl for a manager! Haagen-Dazs!” A 6’1” boy with light brown, spiked hair says as he high-tens a 5’4” boy with jet black hair. Their celebration is cut short by a female voice.
“Kiyoko!” You call. The two boys, Yamamoto, and Kiyoko turn to look at you. You say something to her but Yamamoto and the boys don’t pay attention. As you’re talking to Kiyoko the boys are shocked at your appearance. The sunlight was hitting you at just the right angle.
‘So pretty…’ The three Nekoma players think.
“An angel…”Yamamoto whispers. You glance at him and smile while bowing your head slightly. He freezes.
“They have two pretty female managers?!” The light brown-haired boy asks.
“Does that mean we get two Haagen-Dazs?” The jet black haired boy asks.
“You’re gonna pay for this…!!” Yamamoto yells as he runs into the building.
“Ah! Taketora-san, don’t run away.” The light brown-haired boy exclaims.
“Did I do something wrong?” You ask aloud.
“No, don’t worry about it (Y/N). Let’s get inside.” Kiyoko reassures. You walk inside with Kiyoko and see Kageyama walking up to Hinata.
“Hey. How come you know one of the Nekoma players?” Kageyama asks.
“I ran into him when I was out jogging the other day. He said he’s their setter.”
“Setter?” Kageyama asks intently.
“Gah!”
-Inside-
Daichi and Kuroo are facing each other, shaking hands with fake smiles on their faces.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you. Here’s to a good game.” Kuroo says sweetly.
“Same here. Let’s have a fun game today.” Daichi replies with the same sweetness.
‘Ah. I can tell this guy’s a jerk.’ Both captains think. They let go of each other’s hands.
“Let’s go.” Daichi and Kuroo both say to their teams as they walk to their respective sides of the court.

Chapter Fifty Four
Papilio Currus
Pairing: Haikyuu!! x Fem!Reader
previous | next | 2099
After a month since you had gotten your camp and bus back, your group finally comes to the decision of checking out an airport. You all had initially decided not to because you trusted Bokuto's word at the time, but now the time has come for you to see it for yourself. Who knows, maybe there is a way off this cursed island after all.
However, first thing's first, you need to gather everybody together. You may not know where Kiyoko, Noya, and Tanaka are, but Kenma does happen to know where Alisa and Yachi used to work and so, that's your first stop along the way.
Your group gets into the bus just like the old times when Kuroo and Tsukishima used to drive up in the front. However, it's now Oikawa and Suna up there. Honestly, it does make you a bit nervous that the two of them are together, but you try not to let it show too much. Besides, Kenma is hovering behind the two of them, giving directions, so you know the conversation can't get too intense while Kenma's there listening, too. Oikawa already knows how Kenma feels about it.
About twenty minutes later, Suna puts the bus in park and Oikawa opens the door. Your group then steps out one by one and lines up outside a small grocery store that looks like it's been abandoned since the outage.
"You sure they're here?" Hinata asks Kenma quietly.
"No," Kenma shakes his head, "but it's the only lead we've got. Besides, I don't know where else they'd be if not here. They've just got to be."
"Alright, we'll I'll follow you," Hinata chuckles nervously as he grabs onto Kenma's arm. Kenma sighs as he accepts his fate and begins to close in on the automatic doors of the store.
The rest of you follow closely behind him. Osamu and Kageyama are both armed and hold the outside of the group securely while the rest of you walk.
When you get inside, you stay close to Osamu as you look around the store. You quietly call out to Yachi and Alisa, hoping you'll find them quickly. However, the first sound you hear isn't the two girls happily shouting your name, but rather the screams of Kageyama and Suna.
You and Osamu don't hesitate to run in the direction of their shouts. When you do find them, they're both down on their knees clutching their faces in pain.
"Fuck, what the hell is wrong with you?!" Suna shouts. "Jesus Christ!"
"That fucking stings!" Kageyama agrees as his gun drops to the floor and Alisa bends down to pick it up.
"Wait, stop!" you yell as you run up to them and put yourself between the two sides. "Alisa, it's alright! They're with us."
"With us?!" Alisa scoffs. "What, you made your own new group of criminals now?"
"Alisa, listen, it's not like that. Yachi, it was Bokuto. We got rid of him. It's okay now," you plead with them.
"Got rid of him?" Yachi mutters. "What do you mean?"
"I killed him," Osamu interrupts. "Kenma and I both did. He killed our friends, my own fucking brother, what else do you expect from us? Stop acting like you're much better. You're about to shoot the two of them just for stepping into your store."
Alisa and Yachi exchange a look before Alisa finally drops Kageyama's gun to the ground. "Fine," she grumbles. "What do you want from us?"
"We're going to the airport. I'm hoping what Bokuto said was a lie. Maybe there is a chance we can get out of here," you tell her.
"You really believe that?" Yachi asks you directly.
"I believe there's a chance, yes. I don't trust anything Bokuto's ever told me anymore. Please, come with us. If there's no one there and we can't leave, then you're free to do whatever you want. You don't have to stick with us, but please come try," you continue to bargain.
"I'm in," Yachi agrees first. "If you think there's a chance, I believe you, Y/N. You saved my life. I still trust you with it."
"Dammit, you can't just leave me like that, Yachi," Alisa grumbles. "Fine, I'm in, too, but if there's no escape I'm going my own way."
"Deal," you smile. "Now, what did you guys do to them?" you ask as you look down at Suna and kneel beside him.
"It's just pepper spray," Alisa shrugs. "We thought they were trying to kill us."
"Sorry," Yachi whispers.
While Kageyama mutters curses to himself, you place your hands on top of Suna's and gently move them out of his face. His whole face is bright red, his eyes watery and puffed up.
"You guys have any baby shampoo and water... or milk?" you ask as you look up at the two girls.
"Milk, no," Yachi cringes at the thought, "but we do have the shampoo and water. I'll be right back."
You try to keep Suna calm, his hands out of his face, until Yachi comes back with a small pink container of shampoo and a gallon of water. You then make sure it says 'tear-free' before rinsing his eyes with the mixture of the two products.
Once Suna's finally able to take a deep breath and relax, you help Kageyama. By that time, the others find you and reunite with Alisa and Yachi.
The group then takes a few minutes to wander around the store and take a few supplies before heading back to the bus.
You smile and laugh with the other girls as you step onto the bus and sit down together at the small table. Oikawa and Suna take the wheel again, but when they try to start up the bus, the bus doesn't move an inch.
"Shit, now what," you grumble as you walk toward the front where Oikawa and Suna are looking around the dashboard for a problem.
"Tire's fucked," Suna groans as he hits the steering wheel with his palms. "God dammit."
"I'll go out and see what it is, you guys stay here," Osamu offers.
"I'll come too," you add. "You shouldn't go out alone."
The two of you grab one of Hinata's rifles before walking out of the bus together.

Hi! If it's okay, could I request some Noya fluff? Sorry that it's not alot to go on, I've just had a pretty bad day and am in desperate need of some fluff. I Hope you enjoy your day/evening/night! <3
✗ FLUFFY NOYA HEADCANONS
Tumblr media
you sure can ! i love writing for noya <3 sorry it took me so long to answer, hope you’re feeling better or will feel better after reading this 🖤
Tumblr media
• ok so noya holds your hand 24/7, that’s not negociable. and he likes to swings your arm back and forth when you’re walking, because he wants everyone to know that he’s in a very happy relationship
• and if there’s a song playing in the background - whether it’s coming from a store or just a musician in the street - he always squeezes your hand in rhythm
• at first he thought that pda and physical touch would be his favorite thing about dating you... oh how wrong he was
• because nothing makes him happier than the little slices of life you share together without anyone knowing
• like brushing and drying his hair after his shower for example, he’s amazed at how seemingly insignificant moments like these make him feel so warm inside
• but ofc he’s still a huge fan of physical touch - and pda as long as you’re comfortable with it
• i’m convinced that noya is the kind of boyfriend who turns his head at the last second whenever you initiate a kiss - so you usually end up kissing either his nose, chin, cheek or jaw
• but he always leans in for a ‘real’ kiss right after because he refuses to miss any opportunity
• it’s also pretty frequent that you two finish each other’s sentences, or just say something at the same time. and when it happens, he always high fives you and says not-so-ironically « soulmates! »
• he has a picture of you in his transparent phone case. so now he refuses to put his phone down with the screen facing up, because this picture needs to be seen by as many people as possible
• he’s just really really proud to be dating you
• oh and i hope you don’t value peaceful mornings too much, because they’re very rare with him
• sometimes you’re woken up by his music blasting from the kitchen, other times you’re woken up by dozens of tiny kisses on your nose
• but even the mornings when he decides to stay in bed with you for a while cannot be considered peaceful
• because noya either tells you everything about his dreams (very theatrically) or asks you to tell him everything about yours - sometimes both
• and his dreams are always involving you in some way. 8/10 times it’s completely crazy scenarios, but sometimes - usually on days when he falls asleep after a particularly exhausting day - they’re just normal moments that could’ve happened in real life
• « can you believe i dreamed about going to the movies with you ? » he tells you with genuine surprise in his voice
• but you love his normal dreams, because it gives him many ideas of things to do for your next dates. because yes, dates are very frequent with this man
• he loves taking you to the restaurant because he loves how fancy it sounds. and good luck on trying to pay the check - noya would rather sleep on the street for a week rather than letting you pay
• actually he’s ready to pay for much more than just the check. you say « this necklace looks pretty » he hears « buy it right now »
• speaking about buying you things, spontaneous gifts are also very common
• and by gifts i mean everything from a keychain to a weekend trip. so obviously you never know what to answer when he asks you « guess whattt ? » very excitedly as he bursts in your apartment, obviously hiding something behind his back
• if you get it right, you might get a congratulatory kiss. and if you don’t, you’ll get a consolation kiss (like i said, he refuses to miss an opportunity)
• the day you met his sisters was actually much less stressful than what you had expected. it was like meeting long lost friends, because they already knew so much about you
• you felt immediately welcomed in the family - mostly because the four of you bonded over sharing embarrassing stories about noya
• he acted like he hated it, but deep down he was over the moon to see the four people he loved most get along so well
• it’s safe to say that dating noya gave you one boyfriend and three new bestfriends <3

Haikyuu Guys as Things My Roomies Do
I really miss my best friends, we may be thousands of miles apart but I still think about them everyday.
This comes from a list I made about them for a TikTok I never got around to making, enjoy
Tumblr media
Daichi - Has memorized everyone’s food orders so we don’t have to yell over each other in the drive-through
Sugawara- Practices their lesson plans on us for their class of second graders
Asahi- Pokes their head into rooms to make sure we didn’t leave them behind….
Tanaka- Puts their tinder on the tv so we can be involved in the process of true love
Noya- Tries to wrestle everyone even though they are the smallest one there
Ennoshita- Helps everyone study by taking away their phones till progress has been made
Hinata - Somehow manages to burn tea and set off the fire alarm
Kageyama -Buys an extra jug of milk every time they go out so now we have 5 in the fridge
Tsukki - Ignores everyone when watching animal planet
Yamaguchi -Knocks over cups when excited then feels really bad about it
Kuroo- Leaves long black hair all over the shower. (We know it’s you because no one else has your hair color in the house)
Kenma- Plays fortnight till 4am when we have practice at 9 the next day
Lev- Can’t find the lighter so they try to light a candle using a paper towel and the stove
Yaku- has to climb the counters to reach the peanut butter.
Oikawa- Goes out to party but ends up bringing the party back to our place to play games.
Iwaizumi- Will crack anyones back after an intense training session.
Ushijima- Rescues sad plants from the grocery store clearance section
Bokuto– brings their Bluetooth speaker everywhere because it’s always time to party
Akaashi- Leaves the dance party to read in a corner.
Sakusa- Can't focus on anything until their room is clean and the laundry hamper is empty
Terushima- Has caused the MOST damage to the apartment

hi hi <3 back to request bc i just love your work!
could i request haikyuu boys reacting to their fem!s/o getting a phone call and a guy on the other line says “hey, you home alone?” or something along those lines. there was a tik tok trend where girls would get a fake ft call with a guy saying ^ to see how their boyfriends would react, i think i may be able to find a video if you want but i do hope i explained this well :)
❥ “Hey, you home alone?” Prank on HQ characters
Includes Oikawa, Bokuto, Tsukishima and Kageyama
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ᴀ/ɴ: i am glad you like my work, luv and this looks fun to write and I love these pranks a lot! hope you liked this luv 💕 also did my blog really go quack or is my stuff just getting ignored 👩‍🦲
Tumblr media
Oikawa Tooru:
Tumblr media
I would like to write a whole damn essay about how much I love oikawa but this is not our topic for today until now at least
SO, you felt bored and wanted to do something, plus oikawa has been free from pranks for far too long
That’s another reason why TikTok is your place to go for pranks
You saw said prank and wanted to do it since our lovely tooru has rather interesting reactions
So you set it up the sound and held your phone while your boyfriend is in the kitchen counter behind you preparing a snack for movie night
It was all fine and dandy until
“Hey, you home alone?”
You suddenly heard things stumble and your boyfriend was beside you in a snap with a frown on his face
“No she is not alone and in fact we are going on a date so you can just go FUCK YOURSELF— babe you are recording?”
You then smiled cheekily before bursting out laughing resulting in the blank stare and a pout from your boyfriend beside you
“Y/N, that’s mean, how dare you?”
However you didn’t expect your boyfriend to slam down on you and try and suffocate you with hugs
“Tooru get off!”
“No, apologize!”
He also peppered your face with kisses until you were sorry
You also posted the TikTok and it got more than 400k likes 👩‍🦲
And my favorite part is the comments so let’s start
Some of them were like
“LMAO THE SPEED HE GOT THERE WITH”
and “he is so pretty tho tf”
as well as “the kisses at the end were adorable tho lol”
Of course his ass was sticking out while peppering you with kisses so someone commented
“What a flat ass”
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Bokuto Koutarou:
Tumblr media
I personally believe that Bokuto would have TikTok and would know about the trends unlike the dumbass up there who I think would only stick to one side of TikTok
Bokuto likes diversity in everything and doesn’t like getting left out, once again it’s my opinion
So he obviously knows the trend and you know that he knows, so you got a video of someone with a voice he never heard
He had just came from training and entered the home with a big smile and greeted you with a kiss
And so as he turned his back to you he heard
“Hey, you home alone?”
Bokuto threw the toilet roll at your phone knocking it down
His hair then deflated and looked at you with a look that made you feel extremely guilty
“Kou, it’s a prank.”
He then crossed his arms and faced away pouting
Now how do we make up things to a deflated and pouty Bokuto Koutaro, the great captain of Fukurodani?
Hug him from behind and start kissing his cheek and face then tighten the hug, like you are doing right now
He starts to relax to your touch still being just a little petty
“Don’t do that again, Y/N; these pranks aren’t funny.” He said barely audible as he was trying not to break his pout
He then broke into a fit of laughter and turned to hug you cause I stand by word when I say bokuto loves physical affection with every fiber of his being
And you guys continued the day cuddling <3
Onto the comments:
“HOW COULD HE KNOCK US DOWN LIKE THAT”
“That aim tho”
“HE IS SO MUSCULAR”
“Can we buy someone like him?”
He also gave you a kiss on the cheek while the camera was filming
Cause ✨ AFFECTION ✨
And by the way
He told kuroo about this
And kuroo is planning a lovely prank to get you back for what you did for his bro 🥱
And kou doesn’t have any idea that kuroo is doing a prank even
Tsukishima Kei:
Tumblr media
BAHAHA
The fact that you thought this was a good idea is very humorous, however tsukishima has TikTok, but ,unlike Bokuto, he literally knows everything
And he knew the moment you kept staring at him with a smirk on your face that there is something up
Inasmuch he was patiently waiting for your time to strike
He however then heard kageyama’s voice say
“Hey, you home alone?”
Love, when I tell you he whipped his head so damn fast he almost snapped it
“Hey king why don’t you go stick your dick in a dirt hole instead, y/n is too good for you.”
Cue you laughing while replaying the recording of kageyama saying that same line three more times
Explaining to him that it was a prank took some long time cause tsukishima was being a petty bitch
“Keiiii, I told you I am sorry—“ “no.” “Please, talk to me!”
Maybe just give him a hug or threaten him with going to kageyama and he will hug you from behind
“Don’t do it again, or I will never forgive you.”
Of course you wouldn’t go off the hook so easily sweetie
Tsukishima Kei ,as Tanaka once said, never forgets to counter and take revenge
So you basically started a prank war and may god be with your neighbors
But y’all still gonna watch the movie you agreed on and gossip so 🙄
You even managed to make him put on a face mask which I salute you for by the way
He is a little disappointed in himself cause he already knew you were gonna do something but still was shocked or rather startled
And for the comments which are the loveliest
“Woah is his neck okay—“
“The GLARE HE SO MAD”
“So stubborn wow”
You showed kageyama his reaction and he almost burst out laughing instead just ended up smirking in an evil way
While on the other hand hinata was rolling on the floor having the best laugh of his life aside from the one after his first receive which I was very proud of him for
Kageyama Tobio:
Tumblr media
Hinata was low key gonna ruin it all
Why?
He almost laughed his way through the one sentence he was supposed to say
So your boyfriend was just doing his nails peacefully like the pretty boy setter he is until your dumbass decided to do the prank him while he was doing that
And so in the middle of his nail care session he heard the voice of his best friend say
“Hey, you home alone?”
You didn’t want to use the actual audio since when you guys cuddle he watched TikTok with you and basically knows the trends because of you
Unlike his senior who despite having TikTok doesn’t remember trends for shit
So you called his best friend and made him take part in this and sacrifice his being for a good laugh
Anyways back to him almost injuring his finger when he heard it
“HINATA BOKE WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM Y/N?!”
“BAHAHAHAHA I AM SORRY Y/N I CANT!”
He kept glaring at hinata through the phone and ended up hanging up on him and returning him to the “to serve at their head” list for the 37th time
He just looked at you and pouted unintentionally
“It wasn’t funny you know, you scared me.”
Aw
now make it up to him
“What can I do so you can forgive me then, Tobio?”
“…milk and cuddles.”
And so he got it what he asked for
Hinata’s funeral got scheduled 3 days later but he made it out alive so it’s okay :D
The comments were interesting to say the least
“Did he just do like oxen do? You know, the air from their nose when mad”
“THE NAIL; IT ALMOST BROKE NO”
“So pretty”
“I feel like the orange headed dude is gonna get his ass handed to him.”
He went to ask noya and tanaka for advice to get you back for what you did
To which they told him to ignore you for 24 hours
They also shared the idea because they heard oikawa and tsukishima talking about it separately
They also showed him their evil laugh

Making Out With The Haikyuu Boys (And Getting Caught) (Karasuno) Part 1
Nishinoya:
You frowned as Nishinoya missed another receive. You had come to watch him practice with Tanaka and Ashai but he had been missing a lot of receives, which seemed to get him extremely frustrated.
"Damn it!" he yelled, slamming a fist against the ground.
"Let's call it a day," Ashai said, rubbing the back of his neck.
"No!" Nishinoya exclaimed, standing up. "We need to keep practicing!"
"Noya, we're going to stop for today," Tanaka said, already walking towards the gym doors. "Sorry, dude. You need some time to chill."
"Guys!" Nishinoya exclaimed as Ashai and Tanaka left the gym. He groaned loudly, clenching his fists.
"Noya, Love, maybe you should take a break," you said, approaching Nishinoya.
"Y/N! Practice with me!" Nishinoya said, spinning around, grabbing your shoulders.
"No, Noya," you sighed. "Please just take a break."
"I can't!" Nishinoya frowned. You sighed, trying to think of a way for him to calm down and take a break. You then rolled your eyes before grabbing the front of his shirt and pulling him towards you. You heard Nishinoya let out a hmph as your lips connected.
"Still no break?" you cooed.
"Little one," Nishinoya grinned, grabbing your wrist and dragging you to the gym's storage closet. You chuckled as he pushed you inside before entering himself. He closed the door, then was quick to pin your wrists against the wall you stood in front of.
He quickly reconnected your lips, trapping you in a passionate kiss. You leaned your head forward to deepen the kiss. Nishinoya licked your bottom lip, but you denied him entrance. He let out a small growl before removing his hands from your wrists and moving them to your ass, giving it a squeeze.
You let out a small squeak in surprise. Nishinoya used this as an opportunity to slip in his tongue, easily taking control. You hummed gently, letting him lead. Then, suddenly, he stopped the kiss.
"Why'd you- ooh~" You let out a small whine as he moved his lips to your neck. You started running your hands through Nishinoya's spiked hair, not minding the gelled feeling.
"Y/n," Nishinoya groaned, as your nails scrapped across his scalp. He bit down on your neck, before licking and sucking over it. You let out a small moan. "May I?" he asked, removing his lips from your neck to look at you. He gripped your shirt, implying that he was asking if he could remove it.
"Mhm," you hummed.
Nishinoya grinned, like a kid on Christmas before tugging it off. "You're so beautiful," he grinned smiling at your chest.
"Shut up," you mumbled, flushing a bit.
Nishinoya sent you a boyish grin before dive down, kissing across your collar bone.
"Noya, Tanaka, and I- OH MY GOODNESS!" the voice of Asahi was heard. Your eyes widened as you saw Asahi standing at the doorway, looking traumatized. "MY VIRGIN EYES!"
"DUDE- get out!" Nishinoya yelled, his face going a deep red.
"I'm sorry! I didn't- I mean- AH!" he let out a scream before running out, slamming the door closed behind him.
"Jeez, Asahi," Nishinoya frowned. He turned to you, smiling softly. "Thanks for the break."
"Of course, Love," you grinned, cupping his cheek. "Wanna continue at your house?"
"Can we!?!" he exclaimed, smiling widely. You nodded. "I love you," he smiled, hugging you tightly.
Tanaka:
"Y/N!" Tanaka grinned upon seeing you enter his classroom. He had been late to meet you after school so you had decided to see if everything was okay.
"Hi, I wanted to make sure everything was alright," you said, sitting at the desk in front of his.
"Yeah, my teacher just made me stay back to retake a test," Tanaka pouted. You turned your head to see no teacher.
"Really?" you asked, cocking an eyebrow.
"Yeah, he just saw a hot teacher and ran after him," Tanaka scoffed.
"Oh," you chuckled. "Where's your test?"
"In the trash," Tanaka admitted.
"You can't just throw it away, dumbass," you stated, flicking his forehead.
"I know, I know," Tanaka frowned, standing up and walking around his desk. You turned, following his movements. "But I think I need to get my mind off things." He stood in between your legs. You smiled slightly, pressing your lips against his. He grinned against the kiss, grabbing your hips. He pulled you closer, licking your bottom lip.
You opened your mouth, letting Tanaka's tongue slither in and draping your arms over his shoulders. You fought for dominace before letting Tanaka win.
"I love you," you mumbled, pulling away.
Tanaka grinned, feeling happier then he ever had before. "I love you too," he exclaimed before pulling you into another heated kiss.
"Enough you two!" Tanaka's teacher exclaimed, making you both jump and pull away. "Go home L/N," he said. "And Tanaka, get back to your test."
"Sorry sir," you said, getting off the desk. You bowed apologetically before running off.
Kageyama:
"It's 2:00 AM," you exclaimed, seeing Kageyama at your front door. He was wearing his Karasuno jacket and held his Jersey in his arms.
"Let me in," Kageyama demanded.
"Why? Why are you here?" you asked a little frustrated at the emo-looking boy.
Kageyama was silent for a second. "I wanted to see you," he mumbled, his cheeks going red.
"AW!" you exclaimed, all frustration disappearing. "My Emo Boy wanted to see me!"
"Shu-shut up Boke!" Kageyama yelled, his face going completely red. You smiled, continuing to tease him as you pulled him inside.
"Your lucky Shoyo is the only one here," you chuckled, pulling Kageyama into your room. He sat down on your bed, getting himself comfortable. "Why'd you bring your Jersey?" you questioned, noticing Kageyama still holding his number 9 jersey.
"Wear it," he ordered, throwing it at you. You caught it smoothly, confusion written across your face.
"Why?" you questioned, pulling off your pajama shirt.
"I-I thought you'd look cute in it," Kageyama admitted, turning his head to the side to give you some privacy.
"Aw, Kags," you cooed, jumping on top of him, wrapping your arms around his lower waist, and pressing your face against his chest.
"I was right," Kageyama added under his breath, resting his arms on the small of your back. You smiled into his chest happily.
You looked up at him, placing your chin on his chest. "I like you," you smiled, leaning forward and pecking his lips.
"Shut up, dumbass," Kageyama scoffed, blushing deeply. He sat up, pulling you with him. He leaned forward kissing your collarbone gently. "I like you too," he mumbled, kissing up your neck.
You blushed at his boldness before grabbing his face and pulling him into a kiss. He smiled into the kiss, tilting his head so you could have a better angle.
"Y/N!" Hinata yelled, bursting into your room. "GET AWAY FROM MY BOYFRIEND!"
"SHOYO!" you yelled, glaring at your brother.
"WE'RE NOT DATING DUMBASS!" Kageyama exclaimed, grabbing something random off the floor and throwing it at him.
"DON'T DENY OUR CHEMISTRY!" Hinata screeched, running off.
Hinata:
"Time to eat," Hinata sang as he walked back into his room, where you sat. He had invited you over after his sister and parents had left.
"Food!" you cheered as Hinata sat across from you, spreading the snacks out.
"Food!" Hinata mimicked.
You noticed a pack of Pocky with the other snacks. You blushed but decided to ignore it.
Hinata had other plans though. He had made the mistake of telling Nishanoya and Tanaka that he wanted to kiss you. They had told him to play the Pocky game with you and lead from there.
"What first?" you asked, crossing your legs.
"Pocky game!" Hinata exclaimed, his face turning pink as he grinned.
"You know what that is, right, Bubba?" you giggled.
"Yeah," Hinata grinned, grabbing the Pocky packet. "We take a Pocky, each bite into one side, and whoever pulls away or meets in the middle first loses?"
"Uh, yes actually," you said, surprised a bit.
"So let's do this!" Hinata exclaimed, fairly eager. He stuck the Pocky in his mouth, leaning forward. You blushed but placed your mouth on the other side of it. Hinata held up three fingers before counting down on them.
As soon as he reached zero, you began. You both chomped on the chocolate stick. Neither of you closed your eyes, staring at each other with determination. As you both got closer to the middle, you began to blush and Hinata began questioning his actions.
His eyes widened as you were inches apart before he felt a rush of adrenaline. He cupped your face and leaned forward, capturing your lips and finishing the Pocky. But he didn't pull away he away after he swallowed the sweet stick. He pulled you closer, closing his eyes.
You let out a small hmph as Hinata wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you into his lap. You quickly kissed back although, loosely hanging your arms over his shoulders.
"Shoyo!" Hinata's sister exclaimed bursting into her brother's room.
"Natsu!" Hinata exclaimed, pulling away from you. "Knock!"
"Sorry," Natsu mumbled before walking out.
"This was your plan all along," you smirked, looking at Hinata.
"For my sister to find us?" Hinata asked, tilting his head. (Ya know, like his cute little head thing? Ya know... the thing? Yeah... he does that)
"No dummy!" you exclaimed. "The Pocky thing."
"Oh that," Hinata blushed. "Yeah."
"Just ask next time," you giggled, resting your head on Hinata's shoulder.
Tsukishima (Tsukibadaba):
"Tsuki," you said, sitting bored on your asshole of a boyfriend's bed. You had gone to his house to work on homework, which you had thought meant, hanging out and cuddling. But no... Tsuki actually meant homework. "Tsuki," you repeated. Tsukishima ignored you. "Kei." Nothing. "Tall asshole." Still nothing.
You huffed before getting up and spinning Tsukishima's chair.
"What do you want?" he questioned as you stood in front of him.
"Attention," you scoffed, crossing your arms over your chest.
"No, I'm busy," he said, mimicking your stance.
"I'm not trying to be clingy but please?" you frowned, climbing into his lap.
"No," Tsukishima frowned, although he loosely wrapped his arms around your waist.
You frowned, leaning forward and kissing Tsukishima's cheek. He blushed slightly. You leaned over and kissed his other cheek.
"Stop it," he said.
"Nuh-uh," you grumbled, leaning down and pressing a kiss to his adam's apple. You kissed from there up to his chin.
"Fine, you want attention?" Tsukishima asked, pulling you closer. "I'll give you attention." He gripped your chin and pulled you into a rough kiss. You smiled into it, happy to have what you wanted. That was your mistake. Tsukishima took the chance to slip his tongue into your mouth, slipping his hands to cup your face. Your tongues fought for dominance, with him ultimately winning. "You're so annoying," he said, pulling away. He tilted your face upwards, kissing down the front of your neck.
"Kei, come on!" Tsukishima's brother exclaimed, barging into Tsukishma's room. "Oh-" His eyes widened as Tsukishima pulled away from you. "I- that's- oh- holy shit- um, use protection!" He shut the door and ran out, leaving both you and Tsukishima a blushing mess.
Tadashi:
"That was amazing!" you cheered as Tadashi ran to you. The team had just won against Aoba Johsai, and Tadashi had successfully completed his first floating serve. Tadashi gasped gently as you wrapped your arms around his neck and legs around his waist. "You were amazing!" you exclaimed as Tadashi wrapped his arms around your waist.
"I didn't do much," Tadashi said, although he was extremely proud of himself.
"You got those serves!" you grinned, leaning your head away from his neck.
"Yeah..." he agreed, blushing and smiling. He bit his lip, his eyes scanning your face. With a sudden boost of confidence and adrenaline running through his veins, he leaned forward, placing a tender kiss on your neck. You froze, blushing at your shy boyfriend's boldness. "I'm sorry-"
You cut him off with a passionate kiss. His eyes widened before they fluttered closed. You licked his bottom lip as his hands moved from your waist to your thighs. He opened his mouth, gladly letting you take control.
Tadashi let out a small whimper as your hands tangled in his hair, tugging gently.
"Can you two please stop your foolish behavior?" Tsuki scoffed, coming up behind you, making you both pull away with red faces.
"Sorry Tsuki," Tadashi said, watching as the team walked by. You stuck your tongue out of them as they smirked and teased you two.
"I am really proud of you," you grinned, looking back at Tadashi, cupping his face gently.
"Thank you," Tadashi grinned, blushing wildly. "Can we continue when we get to your house?"
"Of course," you grinned, pecking Tadashi's lips gently.

↞ back to haikyu!! masterlist
Tumblr media
atsumu miya
Atsumu knew he had fangirls; knew he had a lengthy line of girls who would do anything to fuck him. Through them all the only person he would ever see was you. You and your bright eyes, your soft y/e/c eyes looking past the fans as you saw him.
You had walked towards the gym after studying for you and Atsumu to walk home. You loved walking home with him, the way his fingers wrapped around your own, the way he brought your knuckles to his mouth. He adored you and you adored him.
The fangirls screeching with baked goods that Atsumu wouldn’t take, you tried to barge through them, getting elbowed, why was it so hard to see your boyfriend?
Osamu had been at the door as he noticed you, “Y/n.” You smile at him as he takes your sleeve dragging you through.
“Where did all the fangirls come from?” You mutter as you follow him inside.
“It’s summer and you know what happens then.”
“What sweat and shirtless men.” He laughs at your comment as you try to find Atsumu.
“Agh Osamu, we need to do some sets before we can leave.” Kita speaks before noticing you. “Is this your girlfriend, nice to meet you.”
He gives a smile as you look at the twin, both looking at disgust at the thought of being in a relationship together. Sure, he may look like your boyfriend, but his qualities were more brother like whilst his brothers were more boyfriend type.
“Ugh...” You were interrupted as you felt arms wrap around your waist.
“What’s my princess doing surrounded by all these boys?” Atsumu’s lips brushed against your ear as you shivered at his touch.
“Osamu helped me past the fangirls.” You said as you turned to meet his eyes, his hands moving to your waist to being you closer.
“They weren’t any trouble.” You shook your head as he leans down to meet your lips.
His soft lips on your own feeling as you both move together. “Oi you two we still have some sets to do.” Atsumu huffs at his brother as he leaves you.
“Wait on the benches princess.” You nod as you walk away.
Kita looks between the twins before shaking his head, “someone’s actually dating you.”
He walks away as Atsumu scowls, he watches you sit down making sure nobody disturbed you.
He starts the set effortlessly before he hears you speak, “You’re such a pretty setter.” You had stood up cheering him as he did one of his great sets to Osamu who spiked it. He blushes at you he knew how much he loved your eyes on all of him, his body, his form even his hands. He wanted you to know that he was all yours.
Tumblr media
eita semi
“Semi.” You hum his name out to the empty gym, he was with Ushijima and Tendo as they were practicing spikes and blocks.
You smiled at three boys as you walked onto the court, “do you boys never get sleep?” You laugh as you walk up to Semi.
“I get the daily amount needed to survive.” Ushijima spoke stoically he had the ball in his hands rotating. You raised your eyebrow at the boy as Tendo started to sing about sleep, his fingers doing little dances.
“Come on guys it’s like 9, don’t you have beds to get too.” You mutter as you lean against Semi, his arm wrapping around your waist.
“One more minute.” Semi pleads his eyes softly looking at you, “and I’ll even teach you how to set a ball.”
Ushijima gives a confused look as you look at the boy, “Fine by me.” Is all he mutters.
You drop your bag only wearing your skirt and thigh highs with your button up. Semis hands wrap around you showing you the technique of setting, how far your hands should be raised, the whole lot.
Before you knew it Ushijima passed the ball to you ready to spike, you push the ball from your hands upwards making it go towards Ushijima as he spikes it down, Tendo just missing it.
“That was amazing, you might even end up taking your boyfriends spot.” Tendo joked out as your waiting for praise from your boyfriend.
“You did amazing baby.” Semi smiles kissing the top of your head. “Give us another five minutes and then we’ll leave.”
You nod as you move to the benches watching them practice, you admired all of Semi’s features, the way his hands moved to set the ball, the way he scrunched his noise. You loved it all you loved everything about him.
“You’re such a pretty setter.” You say aloud, the boys looking at you, Semi goes red as you gawk at him. He finally walks up to you kissing you softly, his hands wrapping around your waist to bring you forward. He would never admit it but you calling him pretty made him feel some type of way.
Tumblr media
keiji akaashi
Fukurodani’s practice game with Nekoma was closing to an end, you had stayed late in the library to revise for an upcoming exam and had sadly missed the game. Knowing Akaashi would be upset, you left a little early to catch the last part of the game. Hopefully.
You walked through the gym doors, the points at a mere 2-point lead by Fukurodani, Nekoma had been putting up a fight, you examine the game, going towards the two managers who you were friends with.
“How longs this been going on then?” You ask Yukie as she gives a look of dread.
“Too long Y/N.”
“Has Bokuto gone into emo mode?” You question as Kaori speaks this time.
“Gladly no.” You loved the frosted tip owl like a brother and a happy Bokuto meant a happy Akaashi, you watched as the game was drawing to a close, the ball being sent to Akaashi as he effortlessly set it to Bokuto who spiked it down winning the set.
You admired all of Akaashi’s features, the way his blue eyes analysed the area, brightening up once he saw you. He rand his hands through his already messy black hair, Bokuto screaming at Akaashi, “Akaashi you saw that.” He bounced about as Akaashi quickly praised him before walking up to you.
“You’re such a pretty setter.” You hum at the tall boy; he gazes down at you smiling at the comment.
“You’re my pretty girl.” He kisses your temple before quickly going back to thank Nekoma.
“I’ll wait outside for you.” He had passed you gesturing five minutes as you walked outside. The chilly air hitting your exposed thighs as your socks only went below your knees. The uniform not helping as you hadn’t worn your blazer due to the immense heat in the morning.
“What do we have here? A cold owl.” You could recognise that voice from anywhere.
You turn around to be met with the one and only Nekoma’s captain. “One day Kuroo I’d wish you weren’t an ass.”
“Ooo my bad, princess.”
You glare at the tall boy, he was mocking you, knowing already of yours and Akaashi’s relationship. “Don’t call me that you dickhead.”
“Are you pissing off my girlfriend?” Akaashi walked towards you unamused at the situation.
He handed you a hoodie as you quickly wore it, not wanting to freeze your tits off.
“Me never.” Kuroo laughs as you roll your eyes.
“Come on Y/n, pain in the ass Kuroo san must be getting tired from all the loosing he did today.” You smirk at the uncharacteristic comment of Akaashi but nevertheless take his hand.
“You’re so cute.” You sing out as he grabs you closer to his body, putting a hand to your jaw as he kisses you softly, his calm demeanour making you melt underneath his touch.
“You’re cuter Y/n.” You blush as you remain in each other’s arms.
“AWWW MY FAVOURITE COUPLE.” Bokuto screams as he runs next to you.
“Bokuto san.” Both you and Akaashi scold in unison at his shouting. He gives a signature smirk as he beings to praise both his and Akaashi’s skills. You listen intently as you stare up at Akaashi his warm eyes filling you with love and comfort.
Tumblr media
keishin ukai
Keishin and you had dinner plans and knowing him you knew he would not be ready or ever arrive early to get ready. Being the best girlfriend ever you went to go collect him, you had already closed the shop up for the night, occasionally helping out when you had free time mostly to spend time with Keishin though.
You had always wanted to meet the kids he coached but he had always been a wary because he knew the kids and knew exactly how they acted in front of pretty women. Especially Nishinoya and Tanaka.
You walked up the steps leading to the volleyball gym, well that’s what you assumed it was. Knocking on the door as you saw the team taking a break, a man comes up to you with black hair and glasses as you smile at him.
“Hi, how can I help you?” He speaks cheerily before you recognise him as the man who had tormented Keishin for a couple of months back at the shop.
“Who’s she?” You hear one of them mutter, you were dressed up to be a teacher and you couldn’t have come for any of them. Even with the blue dress that clinged to you, you looked gorgeous and the whole boys team knew it.
“Oh, hi, I’m Y/n I looking for Keishin.” He gives a confused look inviting you in from the freezing air.
“You know our coach.” A loud orange hair boy jumps up in front of you as you look between both males and the rest of the team. This had shocked the team how did their coach know you.
You nod speaking, “Yeah he’s my boyfriend.” Deadpanned as the team goes silent, Takeda goes red at the fact that Keishin had mentioned you but never introduced you to them all.
Two boys instantly jolted in front of you as you jumped back, one with a buzz cut and another with a brown strip of her between his black hair. “Tanaka, Noya don’t frighten the woman.” A guy with grey hair spoke calmly to the boys.
“I have hope, if coach was able to get her than there is hope for us all.” Noya screams at the team as you fiddle with your clutch that kept your phone. You regretted not calling before you had arrived.
“Hope for what?” Keishin had come through the doors carrying his car keys. “Y/n what are you doing here?” He looked even more confused before seeing the dress and how amazing you looked
“You forget didn’t you.” You walk towards him as you mutter at looking up at him.
“Dinner, fuck, let me wrap practice up, I need to…” You bring your finger to his lips.
“I know you need to get changed we have an hour before the reservation.” You spoke confidently, the team gawking at how you shut their couch up so easily.
“Guess you better meet the team before we leave.” You laugh as he grabs your hand making you stand in front of the boys. “Introduce yourselves make it quick.”
One by one they all introduce themselves even stating their position as you remembered what Keishin had taught you about volleyball. “Wow you’re both setters, I love setters.” You smile at both Kageyama and Sugawara as you turn back at Keishin.
“You’re such a pretty setter.” You coo to your boyfriend teasingly.
The team laughs at Keishins bright red face, “Yeah, yeah.” He mutters grabbing your waist feeling your skin through the thin dress material. “I’m gonna wrap practice up early, you are all free to stay longer, but I’ll make practice a lot longer tomorrow.” The boys groan at the lack of energy knowing that they did love Volleyball enough to spend all hours of the day doing it.
“Before you leave, how did you get her?” Nishinoya said with no filter.
“The imbecil actually asked that.” The tall blonde Tsukishima snickered as you laughed.
You turned to face the dyed blonde man, “He begged.” He goes wide eyed as he pokes your side.
“You really be telling people that’s how I got you.” He pulls at his hair taking the headband out of his hair as you smirk.
“He begged on his knees.” You rephrase as the boys laugh at how embarrassed their coach was getting.
“Okay this practice is done now.” He grabs your hand as he pulls you outside, “Princess I distinctly remember you were the only one of your knees.”
You slap him playfully as you look at him, “you perve.” You give a quick kiss as you retract he grabs your throat making you stay close to his mouth as he continues the kiss. His rough hands on your body.
He retracts the mere inches between both your mouths still visible, “as soon as I saw you in that dress, how could I ever resist you?” You chuckle your head going back as his hand was still wrapped around your neck, his thumb brushing against your lips. “A quickie in my car.”
“You pervert.” You could almost feel his smirk as he laughed at your reaction. He adored everything about you as you go back for another kiss. He loved you and you couldn’t lie and say you didn’t love him back.
Tumblr media
kenma kozume
You had been showing the new kid around making sure he knew where his classes were, you were going to show him the volleyball club so you could end the day meeting Kenma. He seemed nice enough but had already asked for number which you rejected as soon as you realised what he wanted.
“Finally, this is the gym, the Volleyball boys team are practicing, and I have to meet my boyfriend but if you have any questions.
“Isn’t volleyball for girls.” You gave a sign as you looked at him.
“Some of my friends are the best volleyball players in Tokyo, so no its not just a girls sport.” He gave a look as he peeked through the doors.
“There’s a girl right there though.” You grew confused as Nekoma had no manager and people wouldn’t stay long enough. He had been pointing to Kenma, you scowled at his ideocracy.
“He’s not a girl, he is the setter and he’s fucking amazing at it.” You shout urning the glances from the team as they heard you shouting. “If you started thinking with your upstairs brain maybe you’d realise that people don’t have to conventionally look like boys to be boys, they are whatever they want to identify as.”
He was scared and you had started to get pissed, the team walked up to you as Kuroo looked at you, “he giving you a problem Y/n.”
“I handled it Kuroo.”
“This the boyfriend.” The new kid asked as your blood boiled.
Kuroo was confused, he grabbed Kenma by the hood as he made him stand in front of you. “Kitten is everything okay?” All the anger that filled you had disappeared as soon as you saw him, your love, your everything.
“This is your boyfriend.” Your face grew angry again.
“Cover me.” Is all you said to Kuroo and the rest of the team, Kenma knew what was about to happen as he stopped the game he was playing to watch. “You want to say that again.”
Before you let him speak, your fist went to his face, pushing him back even if you didn’t condone violence, it was sometimes necessary. Kenma smiled as he saw his girl fighting for him. “That’s enough kitten.” He spoke softly as you stopped beating the crap out of the boy.
You don’t say anything as you leave, he wasn’t injured just a few scratches, Kenma grabbed your hand holding it, even if you were shorter than him you would always fight for him. He brought your bruised knuckles to his mouth. Kissing it better as if all the love and care he had was going to heal your wounds. You giggle at his touch as you watch the rest of the game feeling his eyes fixated on the ball.
Before you knew it the practice had finished and you and Kenma held hands walking to the train, the new kid disappearing. He smiled listening inattentively at your day. “You know.” You pause speaking as you notice him watching, “you’re such a pretty setter.”
He hides his face with his hair not wanting to feel embarrassed you knew he loved it as he squeezed your hand softly, you smiled leaning your head against his shoulder, feeling everything, you needed in him.

koshi sugawara
You hadn’t intended to come watch the practice, but Suga had insisted you come so he could walk home with you. You adored him and even though you knew the basics of Volleyball it was still a confusing game.
You ended up coming right on time with Kageyama swapped out with Suga. He noticed you as he gave a bright smile, you smiled back going to Kiyoko and Yachi as they greeted you with cheery HI’s.
The game started again, Suga serving as he started getting passed the ball, you understood the terminology and what was going on, it was when they would do their insane moves that were unexplainable. He set the ball effortlessly as Asahi spiked it right past the blockers.
You cheered always being Suga’s biggest fan, as they continued on with the game you watched smiling at the love you had for him. The devotion you had to this boy who brought happiness to your life. You knew he would bring about comfort in a room and right now all you could feel was admiration at his perfect sets, his perfect passes, his perfect serves. He was perfect to you and he deserved the world.
They had started doing something you didn’t know much about, Noya coming from the frontline as he jumped up setting as well. Suga had told you about this attack, a synchronised attack that would only work if everybody was perfect. You didn’t really read up on it as much as you did other attacks but seeing it in action as Suga spiked the ball passing the blockers you realised just how much satisfaction it brought your boyfriend.
“Suga that was amazing.” You shout as he smiles, the practice game having been won as he scored the last point.
He walked up to you, opening your arms for a big hug. You loved his hugs he always smelt of fresh towels and vanilla a combination expected from the grey-haired boy. “You’re such a pretty setter.”
He smirks as he remains around you, his arms encasing you as he was so in love with you. You were his everything and he wanted to show you the world.
“Can you two stop making us want to puke?” Daichi laughs out as you stick your tongue out at him.
You turn back to Suga his eyes remaining glued to you, “just because nobody loves you Daichi.” Suga spoke still fixated on you, “I love you.” He whispers as you reply back the same love and adoration for him. He kisses you quickly before coach shouted at him.
Even with the smallest quickest kiss it still brought happiness to you as you felt your heart beat through your uniform, your body missing his touch, even your thighs encased in tights had hairs risen just at the pining of love you had for this boy. He was going to ruin you and you were going to gladly let him.

tobio kageyama
Kageyama had been none stop practicing for the past week, even with nationals months away he was still concentrated on improving. You loved that about him, loved his dedication but his lack of knowing when to take breaks is what worried you the most.
You walked through the double doors, it was another late night of studying for you and playing volleyball for Kageyama, your lack of communication annoying you. You saw as he set the ball perfectly, Hinata spiking it to where the water bottles were. You smiled as you continued to watch not drawing any attention to yourself, he kept setting perfectly for the orange haired boy.
As soon as the last ball had been set, he looked at the door seeing your cold frame watching intently. You smiled giving a small wave as he gestured for you.
“Hey Y/n, what are you doing here?” You play with your fingers being shorter than the boy making you have to look up to him.
“I thought we could walk home.” He knew you both hadn’t spent that much time together since the team had won Nationals.
He hesitated a response, but you spoke before he could, “you’re such a pretty setter.” You were embarrassed at what you said his face going a bright red.
“Kageyama you look like a rotten tomato” Hinata said as he walked past, you giggle at the comment as he looks at you again, the reddening calming down.
“We should walk home together; I’ll go grab my stuff.” You smile as he starts to walk off before pausing in his tracks, “thank you Y/n.” He was never this outwardly affectionate but in the enclose where only you could hear you felt love.
“It’s all true you’re a…” He interrupts you quickly.
“No, thank you for that but also thank you for staying by my side, I love Volleyball and I love you, I’m not very good as balance, but you realise how important Volleyball is to me, so thank you for always being there.” You smile looking down.
“I’ll always be there for you.” He smiles as he leaves to grab his stuff.
He arrives as quick as he left, the small action of skimming his fingertips beside your own, made you grab his hand, he looked down smiling as you leaned in closer to hid frame. He let your other arm go around his arm, bringing warmth to you.
“You know, every time I set, I set for you.” He smirks as you have love in your eyes.
“R…really.” You choke out.
He stops you, putting his hands to your face, “yeah and I really do love you Y/n”
“I love you too Tobio.” You close the gap, his hands guiding the kiss as in the privateness of the empty street allowing Tobio to express himself in which words could never do. You had to hand it to the boy, he would always be better at physically showing his love than emotionally. But even then it made you love him even more, it made Tobio Kageyama, Tobio Kageyama.

toru oikawa
Oikawa had fans, a lot of fans. You hated to admit you were jealous of how they’d come up to him after games, how they’d touch his arm. It was always a race to get to him first and even him always ignoring them as soon as you came. You still hated them.
You knew how much Oikawa had been practicing lately so you made him some milk bread and would wait for him to finish practice so you both could walk home. You walked towards the double doors, his fans crowding around as they watched intently.
You sign as you push past them, hearing scowls, someone even elbowing you as you glared at the girl, just as you reached the entrance about to walk in. Someone on the team came running up to you, he looked new and have the ugliest hair ever.
“Sorry you can’t come in when practice is on, are you one of Oikawa’s fans?” You were about to answer him as he saw the food in your hands. “Fucking hell you fangirls are obsessed with him, y’know he won’t eat it.”
You raised an eyebrow at the first year, “Yeah well I’m not a fan so move it.”
You try to barge past him, but his arm was out, he glared as you glared back. Almost a competition of seeing who would retain eye contact. “Then what are you doing here?”
“I’m here to see my boyfriend.” He raised an eyebrow as he chuckled.
“You must be crazy if you think Oikawa’s your boyfriend.” You grew even more frustrated at the new kid.
“I’m going to kill you if you don’t move.” He remained standing in front of you.
The commotion that had been occurring had made Iwaizumi come over, “Leave Y/n alone Kindaichi.” You finally found out his name.
“But…”
“Thank you Iwa-chan.”
“Who the fuck is Y/n.” Kindaichi mutters as you continue to glare at the boy.
You walked towards Oikawa who was sitting on the bench, his knee was getting better, but he needed some breaks occasionally. “You okay, baby.”
He broke out from his trance as a soft smile appeared on his lips, “What are you doing here princess.”
He gestured for you to come closer to him, you complied as he brought his arms around your waist, hugging you, his head resting on your stomach. “I brought you some milk bread, you didn’t eat enough this morning.”
He smiles as he takes the bread, he puts it to the side before hugging you again. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” He lets go looking up at you, “now go show me those amazing sets of yours.”
He nods standing up becoming a lot taller than you now, grabbing a slice of bread he stuffs it in his mouth as he goes into a game. “Shittykawa don’t stuff your face.” Iwaizumi shouts as Oikawa looks at him hurt.
“My baby made me bread.” He coos as you laugh sitting on the bench.
The game occurred, Oikawa setting perfectly as Iwaizumi spiked it past the blockers especially the annoying turnip head. You watched Oikawa intensively occasionally glaring at Kindaichi as he glared back. The game ended quickly as Oikawa’s serves allowed for many points to arise.
He came up to you, smiling happily waiting for some praise, “you’re such a pretty setter.” He grabbed your waist pulling you towards him as he hugged you tightly.
“You’re too nice to me.” You laugh as your hands played with his hair, it brought comfort to the tall boy. He gave a genuine smile as he looked down at you.
He brought his face closer to yours as he kissed you softly, his mouth gaining momentum as it became heated. His hands bringing you closer to his waist as you could feel his skin on your own. Before it could go anywhere further, you felt Oikawa’s head push against you, he let go off you his hand to his head as you saw the stray volleyball roll away.
“Iwa-chan don’t be so mean.”
“Lazykawa we still have practice, stop eating Y/n’s face off.” He huffed at the boy, you watched as Oikawa left to go pout to Iwaizumi for being mean. The tall boy would be the death of you, but even then you still loved him.

You hadn’t meant to get everyone so worried about you - honestly, the group of you were just joking around. Looking back, maybe you should’ve taken Ennoshita’s warnings and stopped goofing off so late at night but Tanaka and Noya were just too funny for you to stop.
“Someone’s going to get hurt if you three of you don’t knock it off,” Ennoshita had shaken his head, walking ahead as the three of you attempted to play a walking game of ninja.
“Only gonna get hurt if you stand still for too long!” Noya grinned, trying to swat at Tanaka’s hand and just missing him as Tanaka swiped his hand away.
“Aha!” Tanaka snickered. “Come on, Ennoshita, lighten up! Practice is going super well, Kiyoko smiled at us today, and I actually passed my english test earlier!”
“Oh wow, I’m so proud of you,” you joked as you narrowly missed Tanaka’s attempt to kick your leg. “How much did you have to study to get the lowest grade you could get without failing?”
“Hey!” Tanaka huffed, glaring at you playfully as he gave you one of his intimidating looks. “I’ll have you know, I got 4 points higher than last time!”
“I guess I can’t really ask for much more, considering you never seemed to pass your classes before,” Ennoshita sighed, glancing behind you all to look for the third years. “Thank god they’re almost here, I wonder what took them so long.”
“Hm?” Your eyes followed Ennoshita’s, finding the third years on their way over to you all. Something fluttered in your chest slightly as you saw Daichi, the captain that you were oh so in love with. Of course it would be the sight of Daichi that threw you off because as soon as you were distracted, Noya’s eyes lit up in opportunity and threw his leg out to catch yours.
He would’ve celebrated in his victory if you hadn’t been so caught off guard. You stumbled back, tripping over an uneven part of the sidewalk and landing on your back, your shoulder catching on a convenience store’s sign and sending sharp pains all over your body.
“Ow!” You whined, unsure of what hurt more - your physical pains or the embarrassment of literally tripping over your own feet.
“Y/N!” All the boys called, the second years crowding around you with wide eyes.
“Are you okay?” Tanaka asked nervously, checking the back of your head that you were cradling. “Oh god, okay, no blood, that’s good.”
“What did I tell you?” Ennoshita shook his head but watched your eyes for any unusual movement. “Are you okay? Did you hit it hard?”
You opened your lips to ensure the boys you were totally fine and that honestly, it was more your ass that hurt since that’s mostly what you landed on. But as the third years approached quickly, you could hear Daichi’s worry-coated voice shouting out to you.
“What did you two do?” He asked as he knelt by your side, glaring at Tanaka and Noya.
“H-Hey! Don’t look at me!” Tanaka insisted, shaking his head. "I didn't do anything!"
“I’m sorry, Y/N! I should’ve made sure you were paying attention!” Noya apologized with wide eyes. “I didn’t mean to make you fall over!”
“Daichi, I’m fine, really, don’t make him feel bad!” You insisted but Daichi kept a squinty sort of glare at the two second years. “Daichi,” you tugged on his arm a little, pulling his gaze back to you. “Be nice,” you scolded gently and he huffed, shaking his head as he slowly helped you up.
“Yea yea, I’m nice,” Daichi mumbled, holding you up as he carefully looked over your body for any cuts or forming bruises. “It’s too dark out to be goofing off like that, you three,” he lectured with his firm Captain voice. “Any of you could’ve been seriously injured.”
“Y-Yeah, we’re sorry, Daichi,” Tanaka frowned, just glad that you were okay.
“Very sorry!” Noya chirped in, giving you an apologetic look.
“Guys, I promise I’m okay!” You insisted, turning them around and pushing them forward. “Come on!V Daichi’s right! It’s late and we wouldn’t want you boys missing sleep!”
One by one the boys said goodnight and disappeared off to their houses, giving you and Daichi a wave as the two of you walked down a nearby street slowly, “I’m fine, Daichi,” you insisted for the thousandth time as you felt his worried glare burn a hole into your skull. “Really, I probably just bruised my butt, but it’s honestly not something to be concerned about.”
Daichi’s lips parted to give you another one of his famous scoldings, probably about needing to be more careful. “Sometimes you can be so reckless, Y/N,” Daichi sighed after a moment, his shoulders relaxing a bit as he spoke into the quiet evening.
“You act like I was jumping off buildings and running into a burning house or something,” you giggled, nudging his side. “We were just goofing around! The way you came rushing over was like I had been shot or something,” you laughed some more, turning to look at him when you noticed a pause in his walk. “Daichi?”
The captain looked at you for a moment, a small smile on his lips as he rubbed the back of his neck embarrassingly. He remembered just earlier this week when you had shown him a bruise you had gotten from hitting a desk in your classroom and he had brought you down to the nurse's office just to make sure you didn't break a bone or anything. Or the week before that when you had been goofing off the in gym with the others and ended up hurting your wrist while trying to learn how to spike. He had been so worried about you ever since you two had started dating... and maybe he was starting to smother you with his nagging, “You’re right.”
“What was that?” You gaped playfully. grinning widely. “Did the oldest Sawamura boy just admit I was right?”
Daichi chuckled and rolled his eyes, walking closer to you and giving your head a gentle pat, “I worry about you because I love you, Y/N,” he told you gently, his hand resting there for a moment as he closed the space between you two more. “I know you didn’t break any bones or anything but... I wouldn’t be able to focus on anything else if you actually did get hurt. But you're right, I shouldn't be so protective of you.”
You smiled up at him, feeling his hand slowly slide from your head to your cheek, his thumb caressing over your skin slowly, “You’re almost too sweet sometimes, Daichi. I don't mind you being protective but... maybe take it down a notch of two?” you suggested with a smile up at him, leaning into his touch gently.
“Want me to be more rough around the edges?” he teased, poking your nose as you two linked arms and continued to walk home together.
You laughed at his insinuating tone, smirking up at him with your typical mischievous grin, “Our Karasuno volleyball captain? Rough? I don’t even think that could happen.”
“Well apparently anything can happen these days. I mean, I never thought I could ever get the prettiest girl in the world to go out with me but look at that,” Daichi grinned, interlacing your fingers together and holding your clasped hands up for you to see, “Looks like I somehow managed to do it.”
“Yeah well you better than Tanaka and Noya for that,” you giggled. “Cause if it weren’t for them always talking so highly about you, I never would’ve even come visited the gym that day, let alone considered going out with the captain of their team.”
Daichi smiled at the thought of his idiotic second years being the reason he got to meet you. As chaotic and loud as they were, he really did owe them a thank you one of these days. Thanks to them, he was the luckiest guy in the world because he had you by his side.
“Daichi?” You turned to him as you opened your front door, smiling up at his incredibly handsome face. “I love you too, by the way.”
Daichi’s cheeks flushed with an embarrassing sort of warmth as he stammered out some words, insisting that you didn’t have to say it if you didn’t mean it because the two of you had only really said it a few times before.
“I mean it, you dummy,” you laughed, shaking your head. “I’m going to end up falling on my ass a lot more times in my life. And no matter how small the injury, I always feel a lot better when you’re around to make me smile. And scold me on my clumsiness and recklessness.”
The two of you shared a laugh before he pressed a goodnight kiss to your forehead, “Then I’ll be there every time to help you back up. And to scold you. Promise.”
And that was one promise that Daichi intended never to break.

midnight murmurs
Iwaizumi x Reader - Scenario
a/n: Iwaizumi rattles off some late-night thoughts to you while you’re “sleeping.” little does he know your eyes may not be open, but your ears are still catching quite a few of his one-sided conversations.
warnings: some language
wc: 1.5k
dedicated to: @star-puff, because your Iwaizumi fluff had me riding a high for like 2 whole days & we all need him in our lives
---
Incoherent whispering. Soft, short rambles. Maybe he was sleep-talking?
At least that’s what you thought when you first heard Iwaizumi’s voice over the gentle hum of the ceiling fan and against the muted song of the cicadas buzzing outside of the bedroom window.
But as the nights passed, you began to hone in on the contents of Iwaizumi’s mumbling.
His words were… pointed. Holding an air of quiet confidence and trickling ever so gently into your ear like a lullaby. Sometimes it had to do with his day. Other times it was about how cute you’d looked that morning, still fast asleep while he was getting dressed for work.
But whatever the topic is, you’ve grown used to the conversations that he’s been having with the back of your head.
And here you are again. Lying stiff as a twig by Iwaizumi’s side and listening intently to his voice.
“I wish you’d heard what Shittykawa did today…” He rasps softly.
“...Even though he’s all the way in Argentina, literally surrounded by beaches and resorts, he still hardly takes a day off. That dumbass sprained his ankle and kept practicing for another hour.” Iwaizumi sighed, his thumb barely skimming the surface of your forearm.
If you’d actually been asleep (like he’d thought you were), you’re sure you wouldn’t have felt the brush of his fingertips. It was too delicate. Too careful.
Honestly, you’re just glad he still holds you this tenderly. Especially late at night when you’d least expect his affection. After all, you’ve not had a chance to cuddle with him in a while.
Iwaizumi had been getting home later every single day for the past few weeks and for good reason. He felt obligated to stay with Japan’s national team into the darker hours of the night as the Olympic games approached. And you admire his dedication. You’re so proud of him for chasing after his passions and it would never dawn on you to undermine his career by holding your relationship with him over his head.
But this usually meant that, by the time he cracked the bedroom door open, you two would only have a few moments to share some words and a quick kiss before tucking under the covers. You, of course, missed his voice. And he longed to hear yours.
However, as you closed your tired eyes, Iwaizumi’s would remain wide open, body and mind relentlessly processing through another intense day. You’ve never said a word to him about his shifting and deep sighs, worried that he might feel guilty for keeping you awake with him. Yet still, you feel Iwaizumi’s exhaustion in the way his weary arm drapes around your waist. There’s a tautness, a sort of tension, there.
So you do your best to remain completely still in his hold, hoping that your outward calm would bring him some inward peace. That your steady breath might lull him into a state of rest. That you could be the anchor to his rocking boat, like he’d always been for you when your life got windy and overwhelming. But even with your best, silent efforts, he stayed alert and somewhat unsteady.
That’s when the whispery words would start… and you soon came to the realization that he was talking to you.
You hear the rustle of his hair as he runs a firm hand through it. A small smile adorns your lips as he continues his line of thought, Iwaizumi’s breath wafting across the back of your neck.
“Y/n, he’s such an idiot and he won’t listen to me anymore… maybe I’ll get you to text him tomorrow. You’re so good for him and… maybe a little nicer than I am.” Iwaizumi admits.
There’s a pause and you wonder if that’s it. If that’s the end of his dialogue for the night… but there’s more this time.
“And, God y/n, I missed you today.”
The confession shakes you. Your chest tightens as you try to take it all in.
You’re pretty sure you weren’t supposed to hear that.
Those words were reserved for the most... intimate of moments. For trembling tears or reunions after long distances or maybe hot, heavy kisses after a frustrating day. But, as a general rule, you hardly ever heard those tender remarks out of the blue. After all, Iwaizumi is a man of actions and not so much a lover of words.
So this is new, to say the least. You’re dumbstruck. Your heart is beating far faster than it should be - especially since you’ve been dating him for over a year now.
However, it wasn’t just the words that stunned you. His tone was different too. Where there usually would be, there wasn’t an ounce of embarrassment in Iwaizumi’s voice. It wasn’t rushed; not bashful or heated like some of his past devotions and confessions had seemed.
Tonight’s Iwaizumi is perfectly sincere. No, not just sincere. Fond.
Fond and maybe a tad wistful. Vocal inflection isn’t exactly Iwa’s forte, at least not when it came to sweet words in passing. So this is a historical moment in your book.
Thus, you let your cheeks burn a little longer and shut your eyes a little tighter in order to hear his next words.
“And I miss your voice.” He adds, tone dropping into what seems like… longing.
Iwaizumi pulls you a little closer into his bare chest, the rise and fall breath now pushing up against your own back. He’s really pushing it now.
It feels wrong listening into a conversation when the words are meant for you, but at the same time they aren’t. Who wouldn’t be conflicted? He had clearly trusted that your closed eyes and barely moving figure meant you were deeply asleep. That you couldn’t possibly hear a word he was saying.
I mean you had to say something, right?
So you inhale quietly, preparing to insert yourself into the one-sided discussion.
“...I wish you’d said something sooner, Iwa.”
You almost startle yourself with your own voice, the once soft atmosphere of the moonlit room, turning frigid.
Iwaizumi’s whole body goes stiff, arms frozen in place. He holds his breath and the gentle tickling of air on your neck pauses with it.
You shift your head to look back at him, his eyes already peering into your own. He was red. Beet red. Enough so that you could see it in the dim light of the room. You could practically feel the heat radiating off of his neck and arms, embarrassment flooding through every inch of his body.
“How… how long have you been listening to me?” Iwaizumi whispers, voice wavering almost as though he doesn’t want to hear your answer.
You blink.
Should you only tell him about tonight?
Or would it be better to let him know that he hasn’t had a single midnight conversation this week that you hadn’t listened in on?
You opt for honesty, knowing that he would probably be able to tell if you were lying anyways.
“Everything from this past… week?” You say shyly, slinking away from him, but one of Iwaizumi’s strong arms holds you in place.
His head falls back to his pillow and the other arm covers his eyes. As many times as he’d slipped up in front of you, he’d really done it this time. You must think he’s so strange. Why was he always doing stuff like this? Of course you would hear him.
I should’ve just kept my damn mouth shut, Iwaizumi thinks, his body still being flamed by an internal furnace from all the other embarrassing things he now remembers rattling off to you in your ‘sleeping’ state.
“But I liked listening to you.” You cut in quickly, sensing his discomfort and attempting to smooth it over with gentle words.
“And we… don’t get to talk much lately. So I- I just didn’t want to say anything because… I like the sound of your voice. You’re actually very soothing, Iwa.” You’re still sleepy, so the words come out choppily... but considering the circumstances, it wasn’t the worst recovery.
If it weren’t for the blushing male in front of you, you would probably feel just as flustered by the whole situation. But somehow, you kept your cool, too focused on calming Iwaizumi down in his flushed state.
“...Y/n?”
“Yes?” You breathe out.
“Just… just come here already.” He takes his hand away from his burning face and turns toward you.
You’re immediately pulled snug against him, your front meeting his chest, legs twining around his toned ones. Iwaizumi has a hand behind your neck tucking you into the crook of his neck as he hides his face from you, chin resting softly atop your head.
“I’ll call Oikawa tomorrow.” You joke, breaking the tension.
“It’s shittykawa.” He corrects. “And please forget about everything I said.” His tone dropping, turning sour.
A humored sigh leaves your lips.
He feels your mouth smiling faintly against his collar bone, which only sends him further into this embarrassed affection for you.
You were really something.
Never making him feel bad for running late hours. Letting him crawl into bed with you way past midnight when you could easily demand more time from him. Listening to his rambles, some more crass than others, consciously without judgement.
He’d found a treasure in you. A golden, shimmering treasure that didn’t need light to be seen. You shone even under the pale, underwhelming moonlight that peered through the window blinds.
So Iwaizumi finds himself pressing a few soft kisses onto your forehead. You plant a couple lingering ones on his neck in return and he squeezes you even closer into him.
And just as the two of you begin to drift off, you decide to top the night off with a cherry of sorts.
“Iwa?”
“Yes, y/n?” His voice at a whisper, once again.
“I’ve missed you too.”

Im on the team pt - 4
Tumblr media
Pt 1 Pt 2 Pt 3
Haikyuu x ftm reader
Summery: 1st day of the training camp
When we came back for the longer training camp I was much more relaxed. Last time it was only one night but just a few weeks later and were back. Everyone’s been starting to try new things, I think last training camp had everyone realizing we don’t match up at all. Iv been working with Noya a bit more on receiving and everything a libero does as well as working with Tanaka on spiking. But the most interesting thing Iv been doing is helping Kagayama out, he’s working on a new kind of set and asked me if I would throw for him one day after practice, I was hanging back a bit myself just not wanting to leave the gym and so I decided to help him out. I’m seeing a new side to him I didn’t know, I’m used to seeing him as the perfect setter like he could do anything, but seeing him struggling and frustrated is new. The day before we left for training camp we were practicing his set and he got angrier then I had ever seen him, he threw the ball and shouted.
“Ahhhhhh! Why can’t I get it!”
I’m immediately on the ground trying to figure out what to do to help calm him down, but the only thing I can think of that he likes is volleyball. Sooo
“Kageyama!” He pauses to look at me, “umm I was wondering if you wanted to take a break from your set and maybe help me with mine instead.” I guess that got him to pause since he was now just looking at me, “is just Iv been wanting to work on it for a while now but it’s just, your so good at it and I just wanted to ask for some pointers, and it just seems like you could use a break so.” His breathing has started to even out a bit more, he looks a bit caught off guard.
“Ughh yeah I can do that.” So for the next half hour we worked ok my set, I made sure to praise and complement him on his set to make sure he knew how talented he was, I’m sure working so hard on a set and not being able to get it is really frustrating. After a while we were both tired so we moved to sit down drinking our water in silence.
“Thank you for helping me out, and you know for calming me down.” His voice got quieter as the sentence went on but I understood what he was getting at.
“It’s all good kageyama. I bet it’s frustrating.” He looks over at me and we make eye contact, it’s nice.
“Iv always been able to get it, and I just haven’t had to do something new like that in a while.”
“I know it’s frustrating, and I know I don’t know a lot about volleyball but even I know your one of the most talented players, you’ll get it, it’s just going to take a bit of time.”
“Thanks (Y/N)”
I smile over at him happy I could help in anyway, he pulls out his phone to check the time, “holy shit it’s late.” I look over at his phone and realize it’s 12:30 already!
“Oh wow.” Kagayama looks over at me and we start laughing, both realizing how wild it is that we stayed here for that long, “oh my god our buss to head to training camp is going to be here is like 4 hours!” Kagayama starts laughing louder.
“Holy shut we should head home huh?!” Both of us calm down our giggles before moving to walk home, we walk mostly together till we half to part ways, “well I’ll see you in a few hours Kags.”
He smiles at me a little “yeah I’ll see you in a few hours.” And with that we split ways.
It’s before the sun comes up that we have to be at the busses so naturally everyone is very tired. I meet Tsuki and Yams there but once Kagayama shows up I move over to him, he’s looking through his bag and so I ask “making sure you packed everything?” He look up startled but his gaze softens when he sees it’s me, “yeah after how late we got home last night I didn’t really have time to pack properly.” I giggle at him, “lucky I pack like a week in advance.” He chuckles “maybe I should start doing that to huh.” Coach gives a little speech and tells us all to get on the bus, I was originally planning on sitting wish Tsuki and Yams but they ended up sitting together and Kags asked if I wanted to sit with him so that’s what I did. Not long into the drive I ended up falling asleep with my head on Kagayamas shoulder, and he fell asleep with his on my head. But we were rudely awoken by Daichi “come on idiots were here.” I know I have a massive blush in my face so I get up and move to get off the bus quickly, I hear Daichi chuckle at us but ignore it and move quickly, one off the bus I move to find Tsuki and Yams, “so I see you’ve become friends with the king?” Tsuki says skeptically, “oh shut it Tsuki.” Yams laughs at us as we see Nekoma come out to greet us.
I walk over to where Kenma is talking to Hinata excited to see him again since we talked a bit at the last training camp and he seems super cool, “hey Kenma!” He looks away from Hinata and smiles at me “hey (Y/N), I was just talking to Hinata about the camp.”
“Oh yeah! It’s in a different place, do you know why?” Kenma chuckles at that question “yeah it’s a bigger space and a bit cooler here, but there’s a lot of bugs.”
“Fuck I should have brought bug spray.”
“It’s ok you can use mine if you wanna,” he says smiling a bit.
“Are you sure that would be ok?”
“Yeah I don’t mind!”
“Thanks Kennma.” I smile at him but the moment is cut short by a super tall guy yelling over at Hinata “hey did you grow taller yet?!” The two start bickering and I give Kenma a surprised look,
“that’s Lev, he’s the new kid for us.”
I giggle at the distressed look he gets looking over at the tall kid.
“I’m guessing he’s...a lot.”
“How’d you know?”
“I mean he did interrupt our conversation by yelling at Hinata about his height.” Kenma laughs at that.
“So (Y/N) you play any video games?” Me and Kenma talked the entire walk to Karasanos room, finding we have quite a bit in common, from our love of the same video games to our inability to sleep most nights. He’s nice to talk to, his calm and quiet tone is relaxing to listen to and his more subtle demeanor is cute.
We all put our bags in the room and got ready for our first game today. I didn’t play in the first few, but after a couple they switched me into the libero spot for a while and then I played middle blocker. We aren’t doing too good tho, haven’t won a single game, and after the 8th time doing the run for the loosing team I think I’m gunna die. When the end of the day came around we all collapsed after our last run.
“Ughhh I don’t think I can breath” I hear tanaka yell.
“We lost every game, how’d we lose every game.” Suga asked
We looked into the gym to watch the one game that’s still going, we are nowhere near that level. Daichi sits up and says he’s going to work on the synchronized attack, so everyone started to scatter.
I look over and see Tsuki walking away from the gym most of our team was using and Yams yells over at him “you aren’t going to practice Tsuki?” Tsuki turns around “no, we practice enough already.” And starts walking away, I knew Yams was probably itching to go practice his serve so I tell him, “go, I’ll follow the giraffe.” He smiles gratefully at me and I starts chasing after the blond boy.
“Tsuki wait up!” He doesn’t turn around so I start running faster till I catch up with him. “ughhh why are your legs so long!”
“There not that long yours are just short.”
We pause for a moment, it’s awkward. Me and Tsuki have never had an awkward moment, I don’t like it.
“Aren’t you going to practice?”
“No, we do that enough, everyday for hours we practice, I’m done for the night.”
I’m so lost on what to do at this point, I want him to come practice but I can’t force him too,
“Hey glasses kid,” I hear a voice say and turn around Tsuki stopping in his place, “oh and (Y/N)” it’s Kuroo from Nekoma.
“You guys wanna come practice with us? We could use another blocker!” I look over to Tsuki hopefully, maybe this will be the opportunity to get him motivated. Tsuki looks up and with the fakest smile on his face he says “sorry, I’m all done for the night.”
Kuroo and one of the other guys I think from Fukurodani are both appalled by his response,
“You know he may not look it but he’s one of the top 5 aces is Japan.”
The owl looking guy stands up taller and puffs out his chest looking proud. It’s cute!
“Yeah I think he’s still upset he’s not in the top 3 anymore.” I chuckle, there fun, you can tell they all joke around a lot.
“Well I’m in.” I say walking up to the gym and yelling back at Tsuki “don’t make me do this alone.” The three others stay in the door continuing to try and convince Tsuki to join.
I’m walking through but jump when I her “oh hi” from the floor, looking down it’s the tall kid who was talking to Hinata earlier. He looks like a baby dear before it can walk!
“What happened to you?”
“Kuroo did.” I laugh back at him. He sits up more going over to sit agains the wall and I move to sit next you him.
“Your a first year right? How long have you been playing?” A guy like him is clearly a powerhouse, I assume he’s been playing for years.
“Oh I just started!” He says with a goofy grin on his face,
“You just started!!”
“Hey! How long have you been playing!” He says in an amusing accusatory tone
“Well, I kinda just started too!”
“Haha were tied.” I smile over at him, he looks kinda intimidating but he certainly doesn’t act it as he giggles at our interaction. I think back to when I first saw him earlier he was with Kennma, I wonder where he is?
“Hey your on the team with Kennma right, I just talked to him earlier today and haven’t seen him around much since?”
“Oh Kennma?” I hear Kuroo yell jogging over to us “he went to go play some video games, he’s not really the type that needs to practice, nor do I think we could get him too!” He chuckles.
“Oh that reminds me! Did you get Tsuki to join?”
Kuroo gets a cocky smile on his face looking over his shoulder to see Tsuki looking angry. I get up but before I Kuroo I say “great, you made our tall guy with glasses angry.” I laugh at him sarcastically, he laughs back loudly and we go to start our first practice game of many.
An: hey guys sorry it’s been too long, I’m currently thinking I’ll make this a Kenma x Reader X Kuroo or maybe a Tsuki X reader not sure yet!! Let me know what you think!!!

━ jealousy
REQUESTS: (seperately) bokuto, hinata, and akaashi x jealous s/o. say that she isn’t a very jealous person to begin with but there’s another girl who seemed to have taken a liking to the boys and she doesn’t like it. add some angst if you will :) hopefully ends with some fluff.
🎕 asked by: nonnie 🎕
CHARACTERS: bokuto koutarou, hinata shouyou, and akaashi keiji
GENRE: angst, fluff
AUTHOR’S NOTE: i don’t know if i did it right but D: i’m rlly active rn cus im excited idk why-- also hinata has a lot of dialogue in this one
━ bokuto ♡
bokuto is a jealous baby owl and you know it,, know it too well... he gets pouty if your attention is elsewhere even for a minute!
you, on the other hand, is as cool as a cucumber. well, that what it looks like anyway.
you get jealous quite a lot, to be honest, but your pride won’t live if you show it so you just try to shrug it off every time
but when kou gets a little too much attention it pisses you the fuck off
you get snappy and your mood is down for the day but kou is always on his way to make it better~
the baby owl may be oblivious but when the topic is about you, he pays attention to your every movement and to what makes you tick
so when someone!! a person you hate because of their flirty attitude and rude remarks gets a little too close to your baby--
oh, it's about to go down!
you’re in the cafeteria sitting on one of the free tables, waiting for your hyperactive baby owl, when you see a certain someone clinging to Bokuto and pressing their chest against his arm
aND WHAT PISSES YOU OFF MORE IS THE OBLIVIOUS SMILE ON BOKUTO’S FACE
you turned around and looked at the juice box you bought for bokuto and grabbed it roughly, stabbing the straw to drink it yourself
you knew how popular bokuto was and how ‘plain’ you were but it still hurt when people never respecting bo’s personal space and your relationship as you two were publicly open with your relationship
akaashi, who was lagging behind bokuto, saw this and quickly rescued the dense captain making a certain someone whines about it but akaashi paid no mind and dragged bo away and towards your table
“hey, babe!”
you looked at him and rolled your eyes, scoffing a little with the straw still on your mouth as you proceed to ignore him
bokuto’s eyes widen at that and sat closer to you, leaning closer and putting his head on your shoulder, nuzzling at you.
this usually makes you break but nope, your pride said nope and you ate lunch with bo pouting and whining to you. akaashi who watched the whole scene sighed.
the next time you saw bokuto was at dismissal with him racing to your classroom the moment the bell rang. he went inside when your teacher dismissed you and waited on the side for you even though you were ignoring him. but what slightly shocked you was the serious face he has on.
when everyone else was gone and you were about to go to, bokuto grabbed your hand and made you stay
“what’s wrong? please talk to me...” He whispered, hugging you close to his body.
you pouted at that, the gesture cracking your cold demeanor quickly. you sighed and hugged back the sweet boy.
“i’m sorry for ignoring you, kou...”
you felt his smile on your skin making you smile too
“It’s okay but please explain...”
his innocent words and eyes made you shy. maybe you overreacted a little bit but your ego is too big sometimes
you averted your eyes and looked at your shoes, bokuto’s arms still around you.
“cus... you let (h/n) touch you and you were smiling too!”
you whined a bit, looking up at him. his surprised expression then turned into relief and he started laughing
“who knew you were the jealous type too, (Y/n)!”
you pouted and hid your face on his chest,
“shut up... i’m human too, ya know... and you’re not one to talk, you’re the one who always gets jealous..”
“That’s cus my girlfriend is too pretty and too many guys have their eyes on you!”
you scoffed playfully at that, not having the energy to remind bokuto that those guys were just asking for some notes or something to you, knowing well that it would brew into bokuto pulling up his ‘facts’ and arguments on you again that those guys were unto something...
“shut up, you owl”
“your owl~”
━ hinata ♡
this small bean is also one of the easily jealous type and he creates a safe and danger distance around you in his mind
there’s only a certain distance a guy can come close to you and if that line gets crossed, he goes pROTECTIVE MODE
tanaka and noya are proud of their pupil as they watch him circle around you like a rabid dog or crow?
he is always with you! ALWAYS! And he always buys you some cold drink or if you don’t bring lunch, he lets you share his bento with the courtesy of his mother as he asks her to make a bigger lunch for him when he knew that you don’t really bring your own lunch.
so when it was lunchtime and hinata was nowhere in sight, that worries you a LOT
you run to the courtyard where you two usually hangs out with kageyama but was surprised to only see Kageyama and his milk box
jogging up to the tall male and you asked him about shoyou and you heard an answer you were not expecting to hear
“some fancy pink letter asked him to go to the rooftop, it said that they wanted to say something to that tangerine”
(y/n).exe has stopped working
kageyama looked at you with a quirked brow, still sipping on the milk box, he poked you with a curious look
“why did you let him go, you idiot!” you said, surprising kageyama who pouted and glared at you
“why the hell are you yelling? he’s just meeting someone!”
“you dense blueberry!” you shouted and hit kageyama on the shoulder with a light scowl
kageyama was about to retort when a familiar childish growling caught his attention as you both looked at the side and saw a glaring hinata racing towards you two at a fast rate
“why you kageyama--! don’t get too close to my girlfriends!”
hinata slotted himself between you two and started bickering with the tol blueberry
you sighed at the scene in front of you and a light pink object caught your attention. there it was, a pink chocolate bar in hinata’s hand as he waved it around, trying to punch kageyama.
you frowned at it and started walking away, leaving kageyama and hinata at the courtyard. hiding from hinata, you ate lunch in the bathroom stall as icky feelings start to grow.
after lunch, you quickly run to your classroom wanting to avoid seeing hinata at the moment
but luck wasn’t at your side when Hinata dragged you off and got inside the janitor’s closet with you.
“hinata, what are you doing! lunch is already finished, i’m gonna be late for class!”
you tried to leave the small room but hinata closed the door when you tried to open it
“no! you left me with kageyama all lunch break!”
“i-i had a stomach ache and went to the nurse’s office--”
“i went there too, you weren’t in there”
an awkward silence filled the small room while you looked at hinata with surprise
“i-it doesn’t matter--”
“It does matter! If you feel the need to lie to me then it’s a big matter!” hinata said, frowning at you
you sighed and let hinata hold your hand
“please tell me what’s wrong”
“i heard you got confessed to”
hinata blew a fuse at that and started waving his hands furiously, “h-how’d you know?! i didn’t accept it, i promise--!”
“you didn’t?”
hinata stopped for a moment and looked at you, eyebrows furrowing
“yeah, i got myself the best girlfriend... why would i wanna change that?”
you went closer to Hinata, letting your body hit his and hugged him
“i-i’m sorry... it’s just that, i thought you would find someone better and leave me...”
“I WOULD NEVER! You’re the best girlfriend in the whole wide world, (Y/n)!”
“You’re the best boyfriend too, little tangerine”
━━ akaashi ♡
let’s be real here, you’re definitely the jealous one in the relationship. I mean having a boyfriend who’s too pretty to comprehend and easily attracts a lot of attention can make you like that. but you hide it pretty well, well most of the time anyway...
akaashi always ALWAYS pays attention to you and knows everything that can trigger you to become sad, angry, jealous, and happy
he always makes sure that you’re always fine and happy, that you’re comfortable and content
we stan the perfect boyfie 🥺
bUT he can be quite dense sometimes when it’s not about you or volleyball.. fUKURODANI PPL ARE DENSE
girls would always flock his classroom before you can get there, snacks and treats in their hands to give it to akaashi and being the petty little gremlin that you are, you were pouty
akaashi sighed because it’s always either you were pouty or bokuto is and sometimes the worst-case scenario happened where both of you are pouty at the sAME TIME!
akaashi= Mom Daddy
you reached our final form of pouty when you saw a certain someone a bitch dragged akaashi to talk to him or whatever and being the curious thing you are, you followed them and hid behind the vending machine, listening to their convo
“you know, your girlfriend is cheating on you, right?”
wHY THAT BITCH! She just lied like it’s her common language wtf!
you prayed that your baby boo won’t believe her cus YOU ARE NOT CHEATING ON HIM! why tf would you cheat on him when you hit the jackpot? tf
“and you must know that spreading rumors and lies about a person can take you off the first string in the track team right?”
oOF--! YOUR BOYFIE REALLY POPPED OFF HUH
you snickered behind your hands, listening to the lying snake stutter a complain but akaashi cut her off
“if this is all then I’m going now but if i hear any rumor circling around (y/n), i won’t hesitate to take action myself.”
the snake scoffed at that and walked away, stomping
there was silence for a moment but then keiji called out, surprising you
“i know you’re here, (y/n)”
you stiffened at that and moved away from your hiding spot while coming up with excuses
“i-i wasn’t doing anything! she just dragged you off so i followed--!”
akaashi smiled softly at you, walking closer and patted your head gently making you feel flustered.
“i know, let’s go? you must be hungry”
“you won’t leave me for her, right, keiji?”
akaashi shook his head at your question, a small smile on his face and looked at you, letting his hand fall and held your smaller hand in his
“it’s not like you’ll let me leave”
“HEY! you make it seem like i’m holding you as a hostage or something!”
“hmm”

A Little Too Intense (Haikyuu!!)
Primary Universe
Tumblr media
Summary: See above.
Word Count: 934
~~~
“What…what is going on?” Hinata asked incredulously, glancing up at Kageyama, who looked just as stupefied.
The setter shook his head. “I have no idea.”
Lucky for them, their second-year libero was on hand to fill in the blanks. “They do this sometimes,” Noya explained, putting his hands on his hips as he watched the other side of the court, where Daichi and Suga had Tanaka pinned to the floor, laughing his head off. “When he gets a little too much. It’s a pretty surefire way to chill him out. They actually were doing this before you two crazy tickle monsters showed up, if you can believe it.” He flashed them a teasing smirk.
Hinata and Kageyama exchanged glances, then looked back over to the opposing side of the court. They were still totally lost. One minute they’d been playing a three-on-three practice game, and the next both third-years had tackled their teammate to the ground in a flurry of movement. Now Tanaka’s laughter was ringing out through the gym, making the first-years feel both intrigued and a little awkward.
After another minute or so the ruckus died down, leaving Tanaka panting on the floor as Daichi and Suga both stood up and high-fived.
“No fair,” he groaned as he sat up, pouting a little. “It wasn’t even my fault.”
“It wasn’t your fault you got so riled up we needed to chill you out?” Daichi challenged.
“No!” Tanaka was adamant. He pointed his finger accusingly at Hinata and Kageyama, who flinched. “It was those two! They’re always so hyper and stuff; they’re the reason I got so intense just now. Blame them!”
“Hold on!” Hinata protested. “We’re always like that, but you only get intense every now and then. This isn’t our fault!”
“And if what Noya says is true, stuff like this happened even before we got here,” Kageyama added in a calmer tone, crossing his arms. “So I agree with Hinata. It isn’t our fault you couldn’t stay calm.”
The third-years looked at each other. They appeared to be having a conversation without words, if the flickering emotions across their faces was anything to go by. Finally Suga chuckled and said, “Well, Hinata…it may actually be your fault after all.”
“Me?! What about Kageyama?”
“Leave me out of this,” the setter hissed under his breath, smacking the back of Hinata’s head.
“Kageyama’s, too,” Daichi added, making him bristle.
Hinata smacked him back. “See? We’re both to blame – but wait, no we’re not!” The redhead grabbed his hair in confused frustration. “Would someone please explain what’s going on here?!”
“Remember last week when Kageyama was out sick, so you had to practice with me as your setter?” Suga asked.
“Remember how upset you got that you couldn’t get a spike past me without him?” Daichi smirked. “We had to chill you out that night, if you’ll recall.”
Kageyama glanced at the redhead, surprised. This was the first he’d heard of it.
Hinata was undeterred. “What does that have to do with Tanaka?”
“Or me?” Kageyama added.
“You two have had an impact since day one,” Daichi said seriously, using his captain’s tone now. “And while it’s true that Tanaka would have episodes like this before you showed up, it has gotten worse thanks to your guys’ competitive energy.”
At this point, Noya – whom almost everyone had forgotten was also in the gym – laughed. “Spare us the lecture, you guys. Just say you want to tickle them too and get on with it already!”
Suga laughed, too. “Way to ruin the moment, Noya. But you’re right.”
Tanaka cackled manically as he got to his feet. “Yes! Get them! It’s their fault, not mine!”
Five people moved at once, all in different directions. Daichi lunged for Kageyama. Suga went for Hinata. Hinata turned on his heel to run. Kageyama did, too, but Noya grabbed his arm and started dragging him toward the gym exit.
“Come on, guys! Let’s get out of here!” the libero cried with a laugh, loving all of this silly play more than anyone else in the gym. Kageyama stumbled after him, and they got to the door with ease.
Hinata, however, was not so lucky.
“No, not again!” he shrieked as Suga caught up to him by joining forces with Daichi, who had averted his course just as Noya pulled Kageyama from his reach. Now the two third-years each had one of Hinata’s arms, and they were both tickling his sides and underarms with huge grins on their faces. “Wahahahahahait! Whahahahahat about Kahahahahageyama?!”
“We can deal with him later,” Suga chuckled.
Kageyama stopped in the doorway for just a moment when he heard his name being screamed around a mouthful of laughter. He turned, saw Hinata in his upperclassmen’s clutches, and hesitated. Should he go back to help? But he couldn’t take them both, and Tanaka looked like he was about ready to join in, and Noya was still pulling on his arm…
“AGH!! NOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!! NOHOHOHOHOT THE RIHIHIHIBS, PLEHEHEHEASE!!” Hinata screeched, tossing his head back with hysterics as he crumpled to the floor in defeat, easily overpowered by his two bigger, stronger teammates. “ANYWHEHEHEHERE BUT THEHEHEHEHERE, PLEHEHEHEHEASE!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! KAGEYAMA YOU TRAHAHAHAHAITOR!!”
Technically Kageyama hadn’t actually abandoned him yet. But one devious look from Tanaka and one more pull on his arm from Noya was all the motivation he needed. He didn’t want them to find and attack his worst spot; he wasn’t ready for anyone to do that yet. So he turned his back on the redhead and took off with Noya, leaving Hinata at the mercy of the third-years.
