"A happy ending was imperative. I shouldn't have bothered to write otherwise. I was determined that in fiction anyway two men should fall in love and remain in it for the ever and ever that fiction allows." (Maurice – E.M. Forester, written in 1913, published posthumously in 1971)

HOLLYWOOD, CA — At a press conference this week, Sony producers announced the production of a new modern adaptation of George Orwell's dystopic novel 1984 that will feature the character of Big Brother as the good guy.
"We felt like it was time to update the story to fit a modern audience," Sony producer Glen Maxwell told reporters. "After seeing how censorship and totalitarianism have grown in popularity over the past few years, we think Big Brother is probably a better protagonist than Winston Smith. Big Brother's insistence on absolute compliance fits better with current progressive ideals."
The film will feature a sympathetic Big Brother working with the state to better the lives of millions by implementing strict adherence to DEI policies, CRT teachings in schools, and CDC guidelines throughout society.
"After seeing how much people craved rules and control during the Covid pandemic, we decided it wouldn't accurately depict what society looks like right now to have a protagonist who goes against the state narrative," Maxwell commented. "I mean, we didn't have to do much with the script, we just used a bunch of Anthony Fauci quotes from the past few years and filled in the blanks. ‘I am the science.' Pure Big Brother gold!"
The film is set to release next year and will star Mark Ruffalo, with a supporting cast including George Takei and Susan Sarandon, and will be directed by Rob Reiner.

"Leave The World Behind" stars Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke, Kevin Beacon and Mahershala Ali and is directed by Sam Esmail. The movies plot is an attempt to make sense of today's basic amenities of technology breaking down as the characters desperately try to figure out why.
The problem with this movie, and there are many is that the audience cannot grasp the full crux of this movie while watching it, only to led to disappointment at the movies conclusion. What was billed as the top movie on Netflix, it is weak in its plot and awfully slow in the movement structure.
In the beginning, wife Julia Roberts tells her husband Ethan Hawke that she has booked a vacation in a swanky Long Island home that has the amenities of a top notch B&B but more secluded. The family of four leave their middle class Brooklyn apartment for a well appointed home. The trip promises to be a nice getaway for their son and daughter. Amanda (Roberts) seems to be an easy going, warm lady who genuinely loves Clay (Hawke).
When they arrive at the vacation destination is when all hell breaks loose, (both for them and the plot). It seems that their daughter Rosie (Farrah Mackenzie) is the most observant person of the bunch, (she is also the youngest). She can't help noticing the deer that flood the back yard where they are staying. This is just after the family excursion to the beach where an oil tanker washes up on the beach. Seemingly undeterred by this catastrophic event, the family comes back to the house where they realize that the T.V. is out and so is their cellular service.
The family still seems pretty calm which is odd because a deafening high pitch sound-wave has almost driven them into insanity. At this point the family is a little concerned but not in panic mode. The children seem more concerned about not being able to watch T.V. or play video games. The parents are more interested in what trending supper they will have and what wine would be best to drink.
The movie, which has great cinematography and sound gets more confusing when the owner of the house shows up unexpected and uninvited. George 'GW" Washington (Ali) and his bratty daughter, Ruth (Herrold) ask if they can stay the night. George is a wealthy financier of some sort (we never really find out what he does for a living). Ruth is a know-it-all who is young and has no career, nor any idea of what she wants to do. What she is, is an unlikable person whom we cannot feel one iodide of remorse for. It is particularly here that the director misses the mark; we actual revile this girl.
Further compounding the story, we have Kevin Beacon as a mercenary type who want to help Clay's son who has lost most of his teeth due to what is going on. All the cryptic music cannot pull this movie in, however. It never keeps us on edge the way that it was intended to. Rather than save the movie and bring it to a respectable conclusion, the dialogue between the adults is spoken in riddles and takes us nowhere. When all the Ev's start crashing on the Long Island Expressway, it makes for good cinematography and yet it contributes nothing to the story.
With A list actors like Beacon, Roberts and Hawke, Esmail has these actors going about the motions rather than having them and this movie hitting high gear with emotions running amuck. These actors never really get fired up about anything- even when their worlds are crumbling in.
Jeffrey Epstein, Barrack Obama, Michelle Obama, Julia Roberts, Kevin Beacon, Ethan Hawke, Bill Gates, Jimmy Kimmel, Oswald Patton, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Rob Reiner, Chelsea Handler, Cher, Ben Afflick, Jennifer Lopez, Oprah, Harvey Weinstein, Tom Hanks, Robert DeNiro, Stephan Hawking, Kevin Spacey, George Stephonapolus, Katie Coric, Woody Allan, Alan Durshowitz, Robert Maxwell, G. Maxwell, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Not enough words to say how much I wish they had gotten a second chance....
Theirs was a unique and unlikely bond that I think was badly shortchanged; abandoned for all the wrong reasons. Ymir and Historia both easily had the potential to rival the presence of both Levi Ackerman and our EMA trio, and they both had been given incredible buildup that ultimately led to an underwhelming outcome for both.
Theirs was a complicated relationship, but theirs was a friendship and romance that feels more real and alive than Historia's alleged bond to that faceless farmer will EVER be......As well as her supposed connection with Eren, which despite all the fan theories I don't think ever really added up.
Ymir and Historia are two characters I desperately want to see more of, to see what could have been if they had been allowed to remain active players in the story. Historia became the all powerful ruler of Paradis and Ymir, who was literally over 70 years old and knew full well what lay beyond the Walls of Paradis, was one of the biggest surprises of the story and the wielder of a potentially powerful Titan.....and in the end both became an afterthought. I will never understand Ymir's decision to surrender herself to Reiner and Marley, or why Historia was sidelined in a pregnancy plot that was flat out irrelevant.
These two had the potential to be so much more, and they should have had more to show for the time they did have, especially together as the odd couple that they were. They had a fascinating connection, and both were powerful fighters in their own rights. Isayama set up something great and true to form, he did NOT follow through on it.
You can definitely call me a YumiHisu fan, I want more of these two. Last year I had the honor to tell Ymir's actress Elizabeth Maxwell in person how much these two meant and how much I hope that one day, they might get a second lease on life. I can only hope that one day, someone will have the common sense to do what Isayama didn't, and let them have their moment again.
Justice for Ymir and Historia, they deserve so much better. ❤️ ⚔️ 💜

Reir nodded. “Uhm. Yeah, okay. I understand. Sorry. I… uhm, I don’t really know how to look at you any other way, Cas. This is just me. Looking at you. Normally.
He took a sip of his tea and considered. “Okay. The people’s church. I know there were some statements about them that got read off on the podcast. Maxwell Reiner is the head, for now. They had a ritual, but it failed. Uhm, Manuella Dominguez created a sort of dark sun. At some point they will kidnap a child, a boy, who they will try to… pour the darkness of Reiner into. Uhm… I’m unsure if that has already happened? Time is… hard for me.”
(@meta-horror-enthusiast )
Reir sat in the same coffee shop as before, nervously checking his phone. He stared at the text conversation with Cas, which mostly consisted of short messages and Reirs texts left on read. They were supposed to meet up today, and try to start over.
Reir had worn more chill clothing in hopes of coming off as less threatening (not something he normally did, but there was a first time for everything). He wore a simple black T-shirt with white eye graphics and a pair of ripped jeans.
The door of the coffee shop rang with the familiar bell noise, announcing the shop that someone had entered. Of course, that was none other than Cas. He was wearing a dark sweater and jeans, scanning the booths before seeing Reir and, somewhat surprised by his outfit, pointing him out to his roommate who stood next to him.
After a moment’s hesitation, Cas walked over to the table and slid in to give Ren enough room to sit as well. Then, he nodded his head in greeting. “Hi again.” His words were just as short as his text messages.
