Maxus se la juega con tres generaciones de pilotos chilenos para el Dakar 2022: Luis Eguiguren, Chaleco López y Pato Cabrera

La marca Maxus es una de las principales auspiciadoras chilenas en el Dakar 2022 con varios pilotos destacando los logos en sus vehículos y trajes. Después de un exitoso programa con Chaleco López en el Dakar 2021, que los vio apoyar el equipo logístico de Chaleco incluyendo sus carpas para el bivouac y repuestos con una Maxus T60, este año repiten apoyando a más pilotos: Tres generaciones de conductores manejarán representando a Maxus en el Dakar con López (T3), Luis Eguiguren (T3) y Pato Cabrera (Motos).

“Una de las mejores estrategias utilizada en el Dakar 2021 fue incorporar en el equipo a la Maxus T60, la que de día trasladaba al personal de prensa del equipo -y que fue conducida por Pepe Cornejo- y de noche era nuestro dormitorio con mi navegante Juan Pablo Latrach. Apretábamos un botón y las carpas-camas se armaban automáticamente sobre el techo y así nos protegíamos del frío. Y para este Dakar repetiremos con la camioneta  que se embarcó y ya debe estar llegando a destino” comentó Chaleco López, confirmando que Maxus nuevamente se hará responsable de su campamento en cada etapa.

López es una nueva adición a la categoría Prototipos Ligeros T3 luego de ganar la clase SSV T4 en 2021. El piloto chileno representará los colores del South Racing con un Can-Am, vehículo similar al que condujo el año pasado, solo que más potente y preparado. Por su parte, Luis Eguiguren regresa al Dakar después de un par de años de ausencia también en la categoría Prototipo Ligero T3 con un Herrador, uno de los prototipos emergentes de la categoría. Eguiguren correrá su séptimo Dakar este año.  “El auto es un Herrador, el mejor fabricante de SSV. Tiene un chasis tibular de cromomolibdeno, los frenos son JJuan, las masas, palieres, bandejas son todas hechas especiales así como las barras traseras y los brazos de suspensión, la dirección es americana y la electrónica Motec. En fin tiene todo lo mejor de la industria” asegura Eguiguren.

Finalmente también habrá apoyo para Pato Cabrera, que viene siendo representado por Maxus toda la temporada y usa la T60 para moverse hacia sus entrenamientos y trasladar su KTM 450 Rally Replica. Cabrera integrará el equipo oficial Rieju junto a destacados pilotos como Joan Pedrero, Dani Nosiglia y Marc Calmet.  “Siempre el primer objetivo es terminar la carrera. En la última edición, por la pandemia, no pudimos estar presentes, pero en esta versión 2022 del Dakar vamos con todas las ganas de poder tener una destacada participación, con una moto que conozco, con la que llevo trabajando mucho rato, y ahora además con el incentivo de ser parte del tremendo equipo Rieju”, expresó Patricio Cabrera.

El gerente de Maxus, Maximiliano Sfeir comentó lo satisfecho que se siente la compañía en apoyar a estos deportistas nacionales: “Estamos felices de poder acompañar a estos destacados deportistas chilenos que disputarán la que sabemos es una de las competencias más desafiantes del mundo. Es realmente un orgullo poder tener entre nuestras filas a pilotos de alto nivel llevando el nombre de la marca, tres generaciones todo terreno, con trayectoria, pasión y gran calidad competitiva que representan completamente el Gen Maxus”.

El Dakar 2022 comienza el próximo 1 de enero con la Etapa 1A entre Jeddah y Ha’il.

Soi nhanh hai phiên bản đặc biệt của Fortuner và Innova

Ngày 4/6/2020, hãng Toyota đã chính thức vén màn phiên bản mới của dòng SUV 7 chỗ Fortuner tại thị trường Thái Lan. Ở phiên bản nâng cấp, Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo sẽ được đổi tên thành Legender với thiết kế khác bản thường. Bước sang phiên bản mới, Toyota Fortuner thay đổi đáng kể về thiết kế, đặc biệt là phần đầu xe. Tại đây, chúng ta sẽ tìm thấy cụm đèn pha LED, lưới tản nhiệt và cản trước mới. Ở bản thường, Toyota Fortuner 2020 được trang bị lưới tản nhiệt với mắt lưới hình lượn sóng mới. Trong khi đó, hốc đèn sương mù trước được mở rộng và dải đèn LED định vị ban ngày thanh mảnh nằm ngang ngay bên dưới.

Nếu muốn sở hữu Toyota Fortuner 2020 ấn tượng hơn, khách hàng Thái Lan có thể chọn phiên bản Legender. Theo đó, xe đi kèm lưới tản nhiệt 2 tầng được sơn màu đen với mắt lưới lượn sóng nhỏ hơn bản thường. Ngoài ra, lưới tản nhiệt còn đi kèm viền màu đen bóng thay vì mạ crôm.

Tại thị trường Thái Lan, Toyota Fortuner 2020 có những trang bị ngoại thất đáng chú ý như đèn pha tự động bật/tắt, đèn sương mù LED phía trước, gương chỉnh điện, gập điện, tích hợp đèn báo rẽ và đèn chờ dẫn đường, cửa cốp sau mở tự động bằng đá chân và ăng-ten hình vây cá.

Hãng Toyota chỉ bổ sung một số trang bị mới cho xe như bảng đồng hồ Optitron, gương chiếu hậu chống chói, hệ thống đèn viền cho ghế sau, ghế bọc da phối 2 màu (đen - trắng hoặc đen - đỏ), ghế chỉnh điện 8 hướng và ghế gập 1 chạm.

Thêm vào đó là màn hình cảm ứng 9 inch của hệ thống thông tin giải trí, hỗ trợ Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, sạc điện thoại thông minh không dây, 2 cổng USB bổ sung ở hàng ghế sau và camera 360 độ. Nằm bên dưới nắp ca-pô của Toyota Fortuner 2020 tại thị trường Thái Lan vẫn là 2 động cơ diesel như cũ. Đầu tiên là động cơ 4 xi-lanh, tăng áp, dung tích 2,4 lít với công suất tối đa 150 mã lực tại tua máy 3.400 vòng/phút và mô-men xoắn cực đại 400 Nm tại dải tua máy 1.600 - 2.000 vòng/phút.

Để tăng sức cạnh tranh ở phân khúc SUV 7 chỗ cho người dùng Việt,  nhất là trước sự đe dọa của mẫu xe Maxus D90 - mẫu SUV 7 chỗ mới được đưa đến giới thiệu tại thị trường Malaysia. Toyota đã giới thiệu Toyota Rush cùng giá bán hấp dẫn 668 triệu đồng.

Mẫu xe 7 chỗ thứ hai chắc chắn phải kể đến Innova. Mới đây, hãng Toyota đã tung ra phiên bản đặc biệt có tên Leadership Edition của dòng MPV bán chạy Innova tại thị trường Ấn Độ. Đây là phiên bản được ra đời để kỷ niệm 15 năm có mặt tại thị trường Ấn Độ của dòng Toyota Innova.

So với bản tiêu chuẩn, Toyota Innova Leadership Edition sở hữu một số thay đổi trong thiết kế. Điểm nhấn đầu tiên của Toyota Innova Leadership Edition chính là màu sơn ngoại thất. Theo đó, phiên bản đặc biệt này được sơn phối 2 màu thời trang hơn. Khi mua Toyota Innova Leadership Edition, khách hàng có thể chọn phiên bản màu trắng - nóc đen hoặc đỏ - nóc đen. Đặc điểm nhận dạng thứ 2 của phiên bản đặc biệt này là logo trên chắn bùn trước. Ngoài ra, Toyota Innova Leadership Edition còn được trang bị gương ngoại thất gập chỉnh điện, bộ vành hợp kim 17 inch màu đen, cánh gió mui, thanh ba-bô-lê bên sườn và cánh gió trước.

Some may not realize that the MG brand and logo are now in the hands of a Chinese firm, SAIC Motor Corporation Limited, a state-owned firm based in Shanghai. They are the largest Chinese automaker by sales with over 5 million units sold in 2014.

Brand names that are exclusive to SAIC are Maxus, MG and Roewe, but they have joint production with such brands as Baojun, Buick, Chevrolet, Iveco, Skoda, VW, and Wuling. The MG that is the subject of this article is known as the MG GT, a medium-sized four-door fastback sedan which was launched in 2014 and produced in China. SAIC maintains a UK facility that does engineering work for its MG-branded products and until recently did some low volume assembly of MGs there for the UK market.

The subject of this article, MG GT It is powered by either of two engines, both gasoline, inline four cylinder of 1.4 or 1.5 liter. The smaller one being a direct injection unit producing 110KW at 5600 RPM and the larger one 95KW at 5500 RPM. Gearboxes are manual six speeds, automatic six speeds or a seven-speed dual clutch unit. Zero to 100 KMH (62 MPH) range from 9.5 to 9.8 seconds depending on the engine and gearbox. Trim levels for the MG GT include names such as Fashion, Elite, Luxury, and Flagship. Equipment puts these modern cars a long, long way from our “classic” MGs with such things as a start-stop system, smart charging regenerative braking, cruise control, power windows, door locks, something called, InkaNet 4.0 Telematics, GPS, Voice Control, Mirrorlink connection and Blue tooth connectivity. A dual zone auto air conditioner or in lesser versions, a manual air conditioner with a pollen filter. For safety, there are dual front airbags, dual side airbags, side curtain, ABS rear camera and other features. However, SAIC specs some of these features only on the top of the line version. Classic MG folks will relate to the leather seats or leather/cloths seats and the “Sports Instrument Panel” So these cars at least in the non-base line version are right up there with current automotive technology and features.

The models of this MG GT come in a pair mounted on a fancy decorative raised plinth with a clear cover. Unlike most models in 43rd scale there is no indication what model company produces this pair except for the chassis of the cars that states “SAIC Motor” in English and some Chinese characters which are presumably a translation. The cars and the box they come in, unlike most all models, have absolutely no indication of the maker of the actual model. The MG logo is prominent on the outer box and the mounting plinth so presumably the car maker SAIC have “licensed” this model product but normal licensing rules and regulations in China may be much different than in the rest of the world as the Chinese are well known for unapproved knockoffs and clones.

Of the two cars, the red one is quite stock and the white one is a sort of rallye or race version, having an internal roll cage, only the driver’s seat which is a sort of Recaro style bucket seat with a four-point seatbelt evident. Both are left-hand drive as suitable for China where most of the real car are sold. The red car has a sunroof in a dark tinted glass, an all-black interior and chrome allow style wheels. There is even a tiny grid replicating a heated the rear window. MG octagon logos are prominently displayed on the front edge of the bonnet and hatchback. In the modern style there is minimal chrome trim, most being black. Interestingly the front and rear license plates on the MG GT state “Morris Garages” so somebody has done their MG history homework.

Looking closer at the rallye version which is in white with a non-sunroof flat black roof with a very large MG logo picked out in gloss black. There is black and red decorative striping on the flanks, a black wing on the rear somewhat like what might be found on some Subaru WRX cars. The rear tail pipes are different than the red street car in that they are well separated instead of being side by side but in both cases they are chrome plated. The chassis shows a fair amount of detail such as the full exhaust system, front and rear suspensions, transverse engine sump, end on gearbox and some floor sheet metal detail. Judging by weight all indications are that both of these replicas are diecast, not the now more common resin material used in Asian made 43rd scale miniatures. The metal diecast medium is an indication that these models will be made in relatively high production numbers compared to the resin issues. The model maker has taken the trouble to create two wheel styles, the MG GT street car with silver alloys and the rallye car with large diameter black alloys. Both being the open spoke type, so brake discs of two different diameters are shown behind the wheels. Nice attention to detail here.

Rodinná MPV z trhu pomalu, ale jistě mizí a nahrazují je všudypřítomná SUV. Není to ale škoda? Vždyť pro větší rodinu je MPV často lepší volbou. V nabídce má MPV jen několik posledních značek, mezi kterými nechybí Ford, který nabízí dokonce hned tři. A my jsme to prostřední, kterým je S-MAX, vyzkoušeli v redakčním testu.

Do toho přijela na pohled i z hlediska výbavy velmi pěkná verze ST-line s benzinovým motorem 1.5 EcoBoost a s manuální převodovkou. A jaká je to kombinace? To se pokusíme popsat v následujících odstavcích. Nutno ale dodat, že jde o končící model, protože Ford už představil modernizovanou verzi. 

Vypadá svěže

V případě rodinného auta a sportovně laděné výbavy je tu docela složitý úkol, jak to dát dohromady. Designérům se ale aplikace designových vylepšení na MPV povedlo nainstalovat tak, že to vypadá dobře. Nejde ale samozřejmě o žádnou divočinu, jen o několik drobných detailů.

A co tedy v rámci výbavy ST-line dostanete? Budou to například zadní spojler, upravené nárazníky, nástavce prahů v barvě karoserie, jinou mřížku chladiče v černém provedení, černou lištu kolem linie bočních oken, logo ST-Line, tmavě tónované okraje předních a zadních světlometů, ale třeba i střešní podélníky s černou povrchovou úpravou.

Zapomenout ale nesmíme ani na některé technické drobnosti jako specifická kola s rozměry 7,5×18 palců s pneumatikami 235/50 R18, pod nimiž vykukují červeně lakované třmeny. Auto také stojí na sportovním, o 10 mm nižším podvozku.

Drobné změny dostanete i v interiéru. Tam jde v první řadě hlavně o prošívání červenou nití, které najdete na sedadlech, volantu, hlavici a manžetě řadicí páky, loketní opěrce, výplních dveří, ale i na předních a zadních koberečkách. Nechybějí ani hliníkové pedály či černě čalouněný strop.

Castree is positioning Wavemaker as “a media, content and technology agency“, rather than just a media shop, after a string of account losses and the emergence of new rivals such as Omnicom’s data-driven agency, Hearts & Science, and the management consulting firms.

He said the name change is “symbolic“. Wavemaker requires a “rapid evolution and transformation” and must differentiate itself because of “the growing forces of commoditisation in media and advertising“, he told Campaign.

He said Wavemaker will combine MEC’s “obsession” with “purchase journey” planning with Group M’s data resource, [m]Platform and there must be “a renewed focus on the primacy of client relationships and needs” – a tacit acknowledgement that the reputation of media agencies has been tarnished by last year’s industry-wide debate about “non-transparent” business practices.

Group M, the world’s biggest media buyer, has insisted the merger is not a “carve-up” of Maxus, which is about half the size of MEC.

Wavemaker will adopt Maxus’ company values, dubbed “PACED“, which stands for passionate, agile, collaborative, entrepreneurial and diverse.

Castree joined MEC as global chief executive in January from Videology with a mandate for change.

He said the two agencies have made few redundancies because of the merger, although some senior roles have been lost.

He has abolished a layer of pan-regional managers and the leaders of the top eight global markets report directly to him.

One insider admitted staff retention has suffered during a limbo period since news first leaked in May that Group M was going to merge MEC and Maxus in a “NewCo”.

Castree said: “Not having a name has been a source of anxiety and a little destabilisation for some folks.”

Wavemaker will have 8,500 staff, operate in 90 countries and manage $38bn (£29.2bn) in annual billings.

The Wavemaker brand will “go live” in local markets over the next few months in a makeover that is due to complete by January 2018.

“We will be slightly leaner and definitely more profitable and will have freed up some money to drive that differentiation,” Castree said.

Castree described the merger as “a big, incremental leap”, rather than a revolution, and could count “on one hand” the number of clients that have raised concerns.

Wavemaker’s clients include L’Oréal, Vodafone, Marriott, Colgate-Palmolive and Paramount.

“We’ve had good client stability during the transition,” he said. “If we weren’t making moves like this, clients would be wondering what’s going on [given the disruption in the media sector]. They expect us to stay relevant.

“There’s not a single client that I’m talking to, across all our biggest clients, that isn’t obsessed with their own transformation at the moment.”

Kelly Clark, the global chief executive of Group M, ordered the merger as part of a wider shake-up, which includes turning digital agency Essence into a fourth global media network – alongside MediaCom and Mindshare.

Clark said: “Wavemaker is an exciting new global agency brand with a powerful proposition for clients.”

WPP founded MEC in 2002, when Media Edge merged with CIA, and it launched Maxus in 2008.

Both agencies suffered last year as MEC lost AT&T in the US and Maxus lost Fiat Chrysler globally.

Castree said one of his aims is to increase the number of multinational clients.

He added Group M’s trading scale “still matters”, even in an era where technology and data are increasingly important.

“It is still the principle barrier for anyone who wants to enter our market,” he said. “For a Deloitte or Accenture, that’s not something they could ever replicate.”

However, Castree said more mergers and consolidation could happen. “With all of the change going on in our business, it would be surprising if there’s not more [consolidation],” he explained.

Castree’s team did the Wavemaker rebranding in-house, rather than use an external branding agency. Lambie-Nairn worked on the launch of MEC Wavemaker last year.

Castree has said the content arm, which will be renamed Wavemaker Content, already generates about 5% of revenues and he wants that to reach 20% by 2020.

He also plans to build up Wavemaker Momentum as an insight database with purchase journey history.
