everytime I hear this I can’t help but cry. so many painful things this song brings to my mind…
an elderly man losing his memories to alzheimer’s.
a suicidal girl choking on the force of her sobs because she’s so suicidal it hurts to breathe.
a parent looking down on their deceased child’s body in a morgue, identifying them.
a mother holding her stillborn baby.
a child’s funeral.
parents being told their child is diagnosed with terminal illness.
a 22 year old man burying his childhood dog that was his absolute best friend.
a child witnessing their parent die.
around 2:25 of this song, you can hear piano notes echoing in the background that weren’t there at the beginning of the song. it screams out like a reminder to breathe and make it through the pain. that healing is happening and one day the world will be a little brighter like it once was.
human experience is hard. living is hard. at one point, we will all face our grievances, bear our losses, and grit our teeth to live when it feels impossible.
I have to learn to take my own advice. I’m not very good at that

‘The Leftovers’ is arguably THE greatest show ever to grace our TV screens. There’s been no other show that has impacted me as much as this. The music is amazing also and I was lucky enough to get the soundtrack on vinyl for Christmas. Expect ‘Leftovers’ artwork coming next year as I’m doing a piece for an exhibition in LA so stay tuned folks. - #leftovers #theleftovers #amazingshow #vinyl #myrecords #vinyljunkie #soundtrack #maxritcher #watchthisshow #watchthisspace #wip #comingsoon #artwork #exhibition #illustrator #17thandoak

Max Ritcher does an excellent recomposition of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. Summer is one of my favorite concertos of the set.
