#XIVRarepairWeek Day 1: Meet Cute

Hey, it’s XIV Rarepair Week on the bird app and we’ll see how far I get. There will probably be different pairs through the week.

This was mainly an excuse to finally draw #maxiriol! I ship one of my WoLs with Maxima but I've seen a bit of art, mostly from Japanese artists, with him and Riol and went "...well, now…”

...so, I had to be basic and go with "Oh no, we bumped into each other and scattered these papers and our hands touched reaching for the same thing!”

I’ve given Maxima so many headcanons (and freckles hehe) that this version of him might as well be my OC! With that being said, the adorable Garlala he’s reading to is his daughter (my WOL). 💕

I might write a lore post later to go into further detail about this. For now, just know that he loves his daughter with every fiber of his being and will always have snuggles and reading time for her! 💓

maxima is one of my dark horse favorite ffxiv characters because he looks like a completely normal guy. he looks, sounds, and acts like a high school history or math teacher. he has good politics and political exile swag. he's so normal. AND he's nice. it's so awesome. shoutout to maxima i hope you enjoy your caesar salad in the teacher's lounge today king
