A rant on ‘who are you’: spoiler alert for episode 13 (and series in general)

I really like that ‘who are you; deals with shitty parenting and compares it to good parenting.

For example, we see how Tida’s parents and their perfectionism affects Tida (she’s still a git though, even without all of that), and also with, Gun: who’s dad is such an asshole: He makes Gun feel insecure about their relationship, and also just seems to really not care about Gun’s wellbeing in general, praising Natee without caring about Gun’s feelings on being ignored or pushed to the side.

Also on Pete’s mom: She puts so much pressure on him-it’s insanity. I understand that her tuition classes depend on his success, but if she keeps pushing him, obviously he’s going to break down at some point. I low key sympathize with her right now, temporarily, simply because she’s trying to make ends meet, and genuinely seems to believe she’s pushing him to do his best. Also with the new thing about the fake university application, I appreciate that she understood Pete’s feelings and didn’t reprimand him on that.

THEN IN CONTRAST

We have Natee’s dad who is so understanding of Natee in general, and only pushes him to do his best, and doesn’t put pressure on him to succeed in academics or as a swimmer, and just enjoys Natee’s talent and Natee’s own happiness doing what he loves. Especially considering that he’s also struggling to make ends meet- he’s just a great dad.

Then there’s Kwan, Meen’s/Mind’s mom: SHE IS A QWEEN. She’s so supportive of both Meen and Mind, and won’t hide behind their flaws, but make them face and accept and deal with them. She OWNS up to faults, instead of running away from them. SHE IS THE DEFINITION OF AN IDEAL PARENT.

JUST SAYING, I TREAT MR. Q AS A PARENT AS WELL. HE PARENTS ALL THE STUDENTS. HE IS SO COMMITTED TO ALL OF THEM, I WANT A TEACHER LIKE THAT. SIGH.

ALL THESE CHARACTERS HAVE SO MUCH DEPTH. THIS SERIES IS SO UNDERRATED MY HEART HURTS.

This is an excellent Thailand horror/thriller movie. The cinematography is on point and the storyline is very engaging throughout. It’s a very well made film especially perfect in the horror suspense thriller category. The acting was done nice as well nothing cheesy at all. Very much recommend.
