Here’s Jedi Moana! Since Moana is a voyager and travels using the stars as her guide, I thought it’d be fitting for her to be a pilot flying among the stars. Her lightsaber is inspired by her oar (complete with a Maui autograph) and the shell she leaves behind on Motonui… and the heart of Te Fiti as the kyber crystal! As for HeiHei… I thought about turning him into some Star Wars critter, but it just seems appropriate that no matter what universe he’s in, he’s just a chicken 😂

Also, Mini Maui made it into this piece!

Was watching Moana, and the “I’m nothing without my hook” scene hit really hard.

Idk if anyone else found this parallel but, like,

Sora is constantly saying his friends are his power, especially in the Keyblade Graveyard scene in KH3. Sora was ready to give up. He basically did, just like Maui. Both of them at their lowest, both of them without the very thing they think is most valuable.

But Riku and Moana keep insisting that’s not where the power comes from. In the end, when Sora/Maui gives up, both Moana have some conflict before going to do what they can, what they were meant to in destiny’s name, to win. Riku gives his life for his Most Precious Person, who had been given the keyblade in his stead, so that he is able to find his own strength, Moana, who has an emotional reminder of why she’s doing what she’s doing, and goes to Te Fiti to save her whole family. In the end, our “hero’s” have to be that, heroes, but the sacrifices that Moana and Riku make to reassure Maui and Sora of where their power truly lies is what drove this parallel for me.
