Con il 2022 destinato a diventare l'anno degli adattamenti di videogiochi ad alto budget sia per gli studi cinematografici che per i servizi di streaming - con il sequel di Sonic the Hedgehog, la serie Paramount+ Halo e la serie HBO The Last of Us che si stanno rivelando IP attesissime - Sony Pictures Entertainment è coprendo le loro scommesse su uno dei loro più grandi franchise di giochi.

Sviluppato dallo studio Naughty Dog, Uncharted è uno dei giochi per PlayStation più amati e di successo fino ad oggi, con l'ultima puntata - Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - che secondo quanto riferito ha raggiunto oltre 15 milioni di copie singole vendute. Nonostante il successo dei giochi, il viaggio sul grande schermo non è sempre stato in aereo, con Hollywood che ha tentato di adattare la serie per circa 15 anni. Il film è entrato in fase di sviluppo nel 2008, con diversi registi e star legati al progetto, tra cui Nathan Fillion, Zachery Levi, Ryan Reynolds, Jensen Ackles e persino Mark Wahlberg, tutti voci per il ruolo del protagonista Nathan Drake. Tuttavia, è stato solo quando Tom Holland ha presentato un giovane film di Bond alla Sony Pictures che gli è stato quindi offerto il ruolo, portando finalmente a compimento il progetto di origine live-action. Diretto da Ruben Fleischer, Uncharted è incentrato sul giovane barista Nathan "Nate" Drake (Tom Holland) mentre viene reclutato da Victor "Sully" Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) per un lavoro da rapina. Incaricati di recuperare un antico manufatto da un'asta legata all'esploratore Ferdinand Magella e al suo tesoro perduto, i due si ritrovano rapidamente coinvolti in una corsa globale contro il tempo, con lo spietato Moncada (Antonio Banderas) e i suoi tirapiedi alle calcagna. Con numerosi indizi da decifrare che collegano al fratello scomparso Sam (Rudy Pankow), Nate potrebbe trovare le risposte - e le ricchezze - che stava cercando.

Con la "maledizione" degli adattamenti di giochi live-action incombente, i fan dell'amata serie hanno atteso con il fiato sospeso da quando sono state rilasciate le immagini e i trailer della prima occhiata. Tuttavia, a differenza del più recente adattamento di Tomb Raider, Fleischer si attiene strettamente al materiale originale, con l'essenza della serie di giochi intessuta nelle battute della storia e nelle scene d'azione. Agendo come un racconto sulle origini, il film si apre con un flashback dell'eroe e di suo fratello nei loro anni più giovani all'orfanotrofio, attingendo principalmente alla trama di Young Drake di Uncharted 4: La fine di un ladro. Lanciato con l'obiettivo di creare un franchise più ampio, il regista di Venom fa bene a creare nell'universo un vero senso di avventura, mentre sei trascinato in una caccia al tesoro girando il mondo piena di mappe antiche, indizi e trappole esplosive in abbondanza . Per la maggior parte, è un divertente successo di popcorn che soddisfa tutte le esigenze di azione e avventura, con una storia sentimentale di una famiglia ritrovata al centro. Tuttavia, proprio mentre il film fa il suo passo con un impressionante tunnel nascosto e una sequenza di inseguimenti, Fleischer rinuncia a questo approccio più ispirato a Indiana Jones a favore di un festival CGI più roboante, correndo da un indizio all'altro per raggiungere i matti Veloce e il finale in stile Furious. Per fortuna, la carismatica partnership centrale di Holland e Wahlberg aiuta a guidare la nave nei momenti più accidentati. WWE has reportedly signed two new superstars from Australia, Matty Wahlberg and Steph De Lander. According to reports from PWInsider, the two Australian wrestlers have left Pro Wrestling Australia to sign with WWE and are expected to perform on NXT.

Both Matty Wahlberg and Steph De Lander were trained by fellow Australian wrestler Madison Eagles. They both made their debuts in professional wrestling back in 2017 and now will be joining WWE at the same time.
