Pairing: Matt Murdock x fem!Reader Word Count: 1.2k
Summary: With his heightened senses, tonight is one night you know Matt is guaranteed to need some comfort.
Warnings/tags: hurt/comfort, poor Matty is in need of a hug
a/n: This is something I wrote in about an hour just thinking about Matt in Hell’s Kitchen during the Fourth of July celebrations and figured I'd share. It was only quickly edited and is currently just on tumblr (not AO3). Feedback and reblogs are always appreciated!

On today of all days you found yourself incredibly worried about Matt.
Earlier you'd called him multiple times just to see how he was holding up this evening, but he hadn't answered a single time. His lack of response had only concerned you further, making you consider just turning up at his place unannounced. It wasn't until shortly after you'd dialed him for a fifth time while desperately hoping you weren't making things worse for him that he'd simply texted you back with just two words that were clearly a cry for help.
Please come.
Your stomach had twisted into knots at his text. If one thing always held true about your vigilante boyfriend, it was that Matt rarely ever asked for help. And certainly never from you.
Now twenty minutes later you'd rushed straight through the chaos of Hell's Kitchen to his building. Unlocking the door to his apartment with the key he had given you only a few short months ago, you weren't entirely sure what state you'd find him in inside–which only made you more nervous.
You'd known what today was when you’d woken this morning long before New York City had become a sea of noise. Even before the mass of people had been out celebrating on the streets with all the cars honking and the drunken shouting, you had known how loud the world must have become for him. And you could certainly guess at how much worse things were becoming as the first fireworks were being set off in the city while the sun was still sinking its way below the horizon.
Because today was the Fourth of July–Independence Day–and you knew this night of all nights was guaranteed to be absolute hell for Matt with his senses.
Pushing his apartment door open, you carefully made your way inside as quietly as you could. All of the lights were turned off, something you'd already expected to find. Despite him not having a use for them himself, he often had them already on in anticipation of your arrival in order to make you comfortable. But no doubt he'd kept them off tonight in order to avoid the excess noise from their electrical hum. Though the obnoxious billboard across the street was more than bright enough for you.
Refraining from calling out to him as you carefully shut the door behind yourself, you closed it as softly as you possibly could. You knew Matt was here somewhere and probably quite aware of every additional noise you were adding to the sounds of the city outside. That in turn made you hyper-aware of yourself. The sound of you slipping out of your shoes and lightly stepping through the apartment was louder to you than usual, the noise making you cringe with each step as you scanned the empty living room. Even your breathing sounded far too loud.
Another loud bang bang thundered in the distance and you winced. How that must have sounded to Matt you'd never know, but you didn't have long to ponder that thought. As you'd made your way around the leather couch, you'd caught the sound of the shower running just at the end of the short hallway beside his bedroom. Brows furrowing together, you wondered if that's where you'd find Matt.
Carefully padding barefoot through his living room, you maneuvered your way around the sparse furniture in the apartment. Another series of loud, echoing booms began again, though these fireworks were much closer than the previous round you'd heard. Judging by the darkness outside, one of the many firework shows around the city must have just begun. You found yourself grimacing at every explosion nearby as you crept your way towards the bathroom.
Pausing in the hallway, you were surprised to see the door to the bathroom partially ajar when you reached it. The sound of the shower running was unmistakable now. As you stood there you could see the faint steam wafting out into the hall, billows of it slipping between the opening. Slowly you reached up, nudging the door open with a hand.
It was no surprise that the bathroom was dark, but unlike the living room, there wasn't much light from the billboard across the street to help illuminate the space. Cautiously you stepped inside, the humidity from the warm shower hitting you instantly as you squinted, attempting to see the space around you better.
“Matt?” you whispered.
There was a brief silence before you received an answer.
“Shower.”
He'd spoken the single word with such apparent pain that you hurried straight towards the sound of his voice. In the faint glow of the billboard determinedly seeping in from down the hallway, you could just make out Matt's form sitting on the floor of his shower. It looked as if he was hunched over with his face buried in his hands. Your heart ached at the sight of him sitting there in obvious agony. He seemed so small curled beneath the spray of water in comparison to the man you often saw.
Without a word you began to strip out of your jeans and shirt on the spot, dropping the clothes by your feet just in front of the shower. You peeled off your bra and underwear next, discarding them onto the bathroom floor beside your other clothes. Fully undressed, you reached out and carefully pulled back the glass door of his shower before stepping inside. You closed it after yourself gently before lowering yourself to the floor beside Matt, your hands tentatively touching his shoulders in an attempt to silently alert him to your presence.
His reaction was immediate. Matt turned towards you, his arms easily snaking their way around your waist so tight as he drew himself against the front of your body. Nuzzling his face into the crook of your neck, he pressed his ear to your throat just below your pulse point. In mere seconds Matt had quickly trapped you between the shower wall and his own naked body.
Your hands hesitantly touched him in return, moving slow and careful so as to only bring him comfort instead of more overwhelming stimulation. Left hand resting on his lower back, your right hand cautiously ran up the nape of his neck, tangling loosely within the damp strands of his hair. When another loud firework roared through the night and Matt only held onto you more firmly, you figured your touch was welcomed and you continued to slowly stroke his hair in silence.
Sitting there on the shower floor, warm water cascading down the pair of your naked and entangled bodies, you could feel Matt's reaction to every loud, repetitive bang just outside of the apartment. Each time you felt his muscles tense against you, his fingers digging into the flesh of your back as he noticeably flinched in your arms. Eventually you'd even noticed how he would stop breathing, holding it in anticipation right before a particularly loud boom rang out.
As you sat there on the hard tile floor holding each other naked in the shower, you admittedly didn't exactly know how this was helping Matt with the overload to his senses–your best guess being a form of physical white noise to him–but it didn't matter. Because you were prepared to sit with him in silence on the floor of his shower for as long as he needed you tonight, especially after the weak and strained ‘thank you’ you heard him whisper into the damp skin of your shoulder.

1. Thai tiger numbers swell as prey populations stabilize in western forests
“The tiger population density in a series of protected areas in western Thailand has more than doubled over the past two decades, according to new survey data. […] The most recent year of surveys, which concluded in November 2023, photographed 94 individual tigers, up from 75 individuals in the previous year, and from fewer than 40 in 2007. […] A total of 291 individual tigers older than 1 year were recorded, as well as 67 cubs younger than 1 year.”
2. Work starts to rewild former cattle farm
“Ecologists have started work to turn a former livestock farm into a nature reserve [… which] will become a "mosaic of habitats" for insects, birds and mammals. [… R]ewilding farmland could benefit food security locally by encouraging pollinators, improving soil health and soaking up flood water. [… “N]ature restoration doesn't preclude food production. We want to address [food security] by using nature-based solutions."”
3. Harnessing ‘invisible forests in plain view’ to reforest the world
“[… T]he degraded land contained numerous such stumps with intact root systems capable of regenerating themselves, plus millions of tree seeds hidden in the soil, which farmers could simply encourage to grow and reforest the landscape[….] Today, the technique of letting trees resprout and protecting their growth from livestock and wildlife [… has] massive potential to help tackle biodiversity loss and food insecurity through resilient agroforestry systems. [… The UN’s] reported solution includes investing in land restoration, “nature-positive” food production, and rewilding, which could return between $7 and $30 for every dollar spent.”
4. California bars school districts from outing LGBTQ+ kids to their parents
“Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the SAFETY Act today – a bill that prohibits the forced outing of transgender and gay students, making California the first state to explicitly prohibit school districts from doing so. […] Matt Adams, a head of department at a West London state school, told PinkNews at the time: “Teachers and schools do not have all the information about every child’s home environment and instead of supporting a pupil to be themselves in school, we could be putting them at risk of harm.””
5. 85% of new electricity built in 2023 came from renewables
“Electricity supplied by renewables, like hydropower, solar, and wind, has increased gradually over the past few decades — but rapidly in recent years. [… C]lean energy now makes up around 43 percent of global electricity capacity. In terms of generation — the actual power produced by energy sources — renewables were responsible for 30 percent of electricity production last year. […] Along with the rise of renewable sources has come a slowdown in construction of non-renewable power plants as well as a move to decommission more fossil fuel facilities.”
6. Deadly cobra bites to "drastically reduce" as scientists discover new antivenom
“After successful human trials, the snake venom antidote could be rolled out relatively quickly to become a "cheap, safe and effective drug for treating cobra bites" and saving lives around the globe, say scientists. Scientists have found that a commonly used blood thinner known as heparin can be repurposed as an inexpensive antidote for cobra venom. […] Using CRISPR gene-editing technology […] they successfully repurposed heparin, proving that the common blood thinner can stop the necrosis caused by cobra bites.”
7. FruitFlow: a new citizen science initiative unlocks orchard secrets
“"FruitWatch" has significantly refined phenological models by integrating extensive citizen-sourced data, which spans a wider geographical area than traditional methods. These enhanced models offer growers precise, location-specific predictions, essential for optimizing agricultural planning and interventions. […] By improving the accuracy of phenological models, farmers can better align their operations with natural biological cycles, enhancing both yield and quality.”
8. July 4th Means Freedom for Humpback Whale Near Valdez, Alaska
“The NOAA Fisheries Alaska Marine Mammal Stranding Hotline received numerous reports late afternoon on July 3. A young humpback whale was entangled in the middle of the Port of Valdez[….] “The success of this mission was due to the support of the community, as they were the foundation of the effort,” said Moran. [… Members of the community] were able to fill the critical role of acting as first responders to a marine mammal emergency. “Calling in these reports is extremely valuable as it allows us to respond when safe and appropriate, and also helps us gain information on various threats affecting the animals,” said Lyman.”
9. Elephants Receive First of Its Kind Vaccine
“Elephant endotheliotropic herpesvirus is the leading cause of death for Asian elephants (Elephas maximus) born in facilities in North America and also causes calf deaths in the wild in Asia. A 40-year-old female received the new mRNA vaccine, which is expected to help the animal boost immunity[….]”
10. Conservation partners and Indigenous communities working together to restore forests in Guatemala
“The K’iche have successfully managed their natural resources for centuries using their traditional governing body and ancestral knowledge. As a result, Totonicapán is home to Guatemala’s largest remaining stand of conifer forest. […] EcoLogic has spearheaded a large-scale forest restoration project at Totonicapán, where 13 greenhouses now hold about 16,000 plants apiece, including native cypresses, pines, firs, and alders. […] The process begins each November when community members gather seeds. These seeds then go into planters that include upcycled coconut fibers and mycorrhizal fungi, which help kickstart fertilization. When the plantings reach about 12 inches, they’re ready for distribution.”

Finally get to tell you where the inspo for this fic came from now that it won’t give away any spoilers. (all my Irish girlies stand up 🫡) I’d fully forgotten about this song this song until July, and when I listened to it it sparked the little ideas for me, and that’s how I came up with the main plot <3 I've been going through a break up (which was nearly a 10 year relationship) during the time of writing this so ive poured my heart and souuuuul into this ( i also want to note no themes of the story relate to me maybe only mentally clocking out bc of a bare minimum bf, do not fucking cheat on anyone) . this fic has been my baby and im so thankful to anyone who has read so far <3 p.s if you ever go back and reread this you’ll notice the little pieces of lyrics here and there lol
The world came back to me in fragments - blurred lights, muffled sounds, and an overwhelming sense of disorientation. As I fluttered my eyes open, the harsh brightness of the room made me wince. My head pounded with a dull ache, and my body felt heavy, as if it wasn’t quite mine.
I slowly turned my head to the right, trying to take in my surroundings, and there he was. The man I loved, sitting by my bedside. His face was a mixture of relief and something else, fear, maybe? His eyes met mine, and I felt a flicker of familiarity in the chaos of my mind.
“Alex..” I whispered, my voice weak and strained.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay. Try not to move too much,” Alex said softly, his hand reaching up to gently stroke my face. His touch was warm, comforting, but something about the way he looked at me sent a ripple of unease through my chest.
“What happened?” I asked, my voice barely audible, as panic started to rise within me. My thoughts were jumbled, trying to piece together how I ended up here. The last thing I remembered was.. was.. I couldn’t even grasp it.
“You got into an accident” Alex explained, his voice steady, but I could see the worry etched into his features. “But you’re going to be okay. You just need to rest.”
An accident? My mind raced, and instinctively, I tried to move, only to be met with sharp pain that made me gasp. “What about my injuries? When can I skate again? I have qualifiers for the Olympics soon!” The words tumbled out of my mouth in a frantic rush, driven by a fear that I couldn’t quite place.
Alex’s face twisted in confusion, and he hesitated before answering. “Y/n.. you haven’t skated in years.”
His words hit me like a punch to the gut. I stared at him, my heart pounding in my chest, refusing to believe what he was saying. “What? No.. that’s not true. I.. I’ve been training. You know that.” My voice quivered with desperation.
Alex exchanged a worried glance with the nurse, then looked back at me, his expression pained. “Y/n, You stopped skating when I was a freshman.. I’m a junior now..”
His words echoed in my head, but they didn’t make any sense. UCLA? Sophomore year? It was as if he was speaking a different language. The last memory I had was waiting anxiously to see if he made the Bruins team, both of us so excited about the possibility of him making it big with football.
“No… no, that’s not right,” I muttered, shaking my head as if it would somehow clear the fog that clouded my thoughts. “Did you get onto the Bruins team?” I asked, clinging to the one thing that made sense to me.
“Y/n..” Alex’s voice was gentle, but it carried the weight of the truth I wasn’t ready to accept.
The room spun around me, and I felt like I was being thrown into a different universe. Everything was wrong, nothing made sense. My heart raced, my breathing quickened, and I felt like I was drowning in confusion.
The female nurse stepped forward, her expression calm and professional. “Alex, could I speak with you outside for a moment?” she asked, her tone leaving no room for argument.
Alex squeezed my hand one last time before letting go, his eyes lingering on mine with a look that made my chest tighten. He nodded and followed the nurse out of the room, leaving me alone with the student nurse who had been quietly observing from the side.
I turned my head slightly to look at him, trying to ground myself in something familiar, something stable. “Can someone tell me how long I’ll have to be in here for?” I asked, my voice trembling.
The boy hesitated, looking a bit uncertain. “I’m not too sure, Y/n. We’ll have to wait for one of the staff to give us results first” he said, trying to sound reassuring as he reached out and cupped my hand with his two.
His gesture was kind, but it only added to my confusion. Why was he holding my hand like that? Was he one of those compassionate doctors who went the extra mile for their patients? My mind struggled to make sense of his actions.
“Can’t you ask someone since you work here?” I asked, hoping for some clarity.
He blinked at me, clearly taken aback. “Work here?”
Before I could respond, the door creaked open, and the female nurse reentered the room, followed by Alex. There was a heaviness in the air, a sense of something unspoken. The nurse’s eyes met mine, and I could see the concern etched into her features.
“Ms. Y/l/n” she began, her voice gentle yet serious, “I need to explain something to you. After the accident, you sustained a significant concussion, which has led to a form of memory loss known as post-traumatic amnesia..”
“Amnesia?” I whispered, the word foreign and terrifying on my tongue. My gaze darted between her and Alex, hoping for someone to tell me this was all a mistake.
“Yes” she confirmed softly. “From what we can gather, you seem to have lost your recent memories from about two years ago onward. It’s possible that these memories will return with time, but for now, you’re not going to remember much.”
My world shattered with those words. Two years? How could two whole years of my life just be gone? My breath quickened, and the room began to feel smaller, more suffocating. I glanced at Alex, hoping to find some reassurance, but his expression only mirrored my panic.
“Two years?” I asked again, trying to wrap my mind around it. “What happened in those two years? I don’t remember any of it..” My voice trembled as I spoke, my heart sinking deeper into despair.
“That’s okay, Y/n” Alex said, stepping closer to me. “We’ll figure this out together, okay? I’ll help you remember.”
But something about the way he said it felt off. There was a tension in his voice that made me uneasy. I looked back at the boy who had been holding my hand, trying to place his face in the context of my life, but nothing came to mind.
“Who.. who are you?” I asked hesitantly, turning my attention to him. His expression faltered, a mixture of pain and something else flashing across his features.
“Y/n, it’s me.. Matt” he said, his voice tinged with a sorrow that cut through me like a knife.
I stared at him “I- I don't know who you are..” I didn’t recognize him. I didn’t remember anything about him. It was as if the two years that had vanished had taken him with them.
Before I could say anything else, the tension in the room exploded.
“Okay man I think it’s time you leave” Alex snapped, his eyes narrowing at Matt, his voice dripping with venom. “You have no right to be here, especially after what you did.”
“What I did?” Matt shot back, his voice rising with anger. “You’re the one who’s been sat here lying to her! You cheated on her, Alex! Don’t you dare act like you care about her now.”
The words hung in the air like a death sentence. My head spun, the room tilting as I tried to process what was happening. Cheated? Alex cheated on me?
“You’re full of shit, Matt” Alex retaliated stepping closer to him, their faces inches apart. “You don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“You’ve been lying to her this entire time!” Matt shouted, his voice cracking with emotion. “You think I don’t know what you’ve done? You think she won’t find out? I won’t let you keep doing this to her.”
“Stop it!” I screamed, my voice cutting through their argument like a knife. Tears streamed down my face as the overwhelming stress consumed me. “Just stop! Both of you, get out! Get out!”
The room fell into a stunned silence. Both Matt and Alex turned to look at me, their expressions a mixture of shock and regret. But I couldn’t take it anymore. The confusion, this talk of betrayal, the loss of my memory - it was too much. I felt like I was drowning, and I needed them to leave before I lost myself completely.
“Please.. just leave.” I begged, my voice barely above a whisper, but firm in its request.
Matt’s face crumpled with pain, but he nodded slowly, backing away toward the door. Alex hesitated, his eyes pleading with me to understand, but I couldn’t even look at him.
One by one, they both left the room, the door closing behind them with a finality that left me feeling utterly alone. The silence that followed was deafening, the emptiness in my heart growing with every passing second.
I collapsed back onto the bed, my body trembling as I sobbed, the weight of everything too much to bear. Two years of my life, gone. The man I thought I loved and a stranger. The man who claimed to love me and a liar. The situation infront of me confused me as to which one was which. The memories I needed to make sense of it all, vanished.
I was lost in a world that no longer felt like my own.
Matt’s POV
I walked out of Y/n’s hospital room, the door clicking shut behind me like a hammer hitting the final nail into a coffin. My heart pounded in my chest, the adrenaline from my argument with Alex still coursing through my veins, but it was nothing compared to the fiery dread settling in my stomach. Every word I’d said to her, every desperate attempt to break through her confusion, seemed to hang in the air like a suffocating fog.
I made my way to the waiting area, my feet heavy, my mind numb. The bright, white lights overhead did nothing to chase away the darkness consuming my thoughts. We approached the row of cold plastic chairs and Alex sat down, his elbows resting on his knees, head buried in his hands. I could feel the tension radiating off him, but I was too consumed by my own torment to care.
I dropped into a chair two seats away from him, the hard plastic pressing against my back, and let my head fall into my hands. My thoughts spiraled, chaotic and disjointed, but always coming back to one image - the moment she was hit.
The screech of tyres. The blinding headlights. The sickening thud as Y/n’s body crumpled under the car’s impact. I could still hear the scream that tore through me as I watched her fly through the air, time slowing to a crawl, helpless to stop it. It played over and over in my mind, each replay more gut wrenching than the last.
I should’ve been faster. I should’ve told her how I really felt. I should’ve… My fists clenched in my hair as I tried to choke down the guilt that threatened to swallow me whole.
What was I even doing on that balcony? Watching her run out of the house, pacing back and forth. I should’ve gone to her instead of just standing there like an idiot, too lost in my own confusion and pain to act. And then when I saw the car coming down the hill, everything in me froze.
"Y/n, get off the road!!" I had shouted, but my voice felt so small, so powerless against the force of what was about to happen. But it's too late.
In a split second, the beam of headlights blinds her. The screeching of tyres fills the air as the car tries to stop, but the impact is inevitable. I watch in horror as the car hits Y/n. The sound of the collision is deafening, and time seems to slow down.
She’s thrown backward, landing hard on the pavement. I can’t breathe, my legs feel like jelly as I race down the stairs, stumbling and pushing through the crowd.
When I finally reach her, my heart is pounding in my chest, my breath coming in short, panicked bursts. I kneel beside her, tears streaming down my face as I try to make sense of the horrific scene before me.
Y/n lays there on the ground, her face contorted in pain, her body not moving. The car speeds away into the night, leaving behind a scene of devastation. The people around us have began to scatter, some calling for an ambulance, others standing in shocked silence.
I gently cradle Y/n's head in my lap, my hands shaking uncontrollably. "Y/n, stay with me" I pleaded, my voice choking with emotion. "Please, stay with me."
She blinks slowly, her eyes meeting mine with a look of pain and resignation. I can see the life fading from her, and it feels like my world is collapsing around me.
The sound of sirens grows louder, and I can hear the distant honking of emergency vehicles approaching. I try to stay strong for her, to keep her conscious until help arrives, but my heart is breaking.
"I’m so sorry" I whisper, tears falling freely. "I’m so sorry for everything."
As the ambulance pulls up, paramedics rush to our side, taking over the situation with practiced efficiency. I’m left standing on the sidelines, my heart shattered as I watch them work to save her. I know that nothing will ever be the same again, and the weight of what just happened is almost too much to bear.
Now she was in that hospital bed, her memories shattered along with my heart. She didn’t even recognize me. My face, my voice - nothing. I was just a stranger to her now, a distant memory from a life she couldn’t even recall.
And then there was Alex. The guy she “loved”, the guy who’d betrayed her. He sat there just a few feet away, but it felt like a canyon stretched between us. I knew he was going to see this as an opportunity to weasel his way back into her life. She didn't remember any of it, him cheating, the way he treated her like an option. And now this was his free pass, to get her back like nothing had ever happened. I wanted to punch him, to scream at him for all the lies he’d fed her, for making this even more unbearable than it already was. But what good would that do? None of it would bring her memories back. None of it would undo the damage that had been done.
I glanced sideways at Alex. He was still in the same position, as if he were trapped in his own private hell. Good. He deserved it. But the satisfaction was fleeting, replaced quickly by a wave of exhaustion and despair.
All I could do was sit there, replaying the accident in my head, the look of panic in Y/n’s eyes as she realized what was happening, the way everything went silent just before impact. It was a moment I knew would haunt me for the rest of my life, one that no amount of apologies or explanations could ever make right.
All I wanted was for her to be okay, to wake up and remember me, remember us. But even that hope felt distant now, buried under the weight of the reality we were in.
I let out a shuddering breath, forcing myself to look away from Alex and focus on the dull hum of the hospital around us. Waiting, that’s all we could do now. Wait and hope for a miracle that seemed less likely with each passing second.
The door in front of us opened, and in came Nick, Madi, Chris & Emily. I had gone to the hospital with Y/n in the ambulance, and the paramedics contacted Alex as he was still down as Y/n’s emergency contact. The news of what happened tore through the party fast, but getting out of the place was hard to do so with the amount of emergency services on scene.
“God Matt is she okay?” Nick asks frantically.
“She’s awake Nick.. she’ll be okay.. But she doesn’t remember anything.”
“Oh thank god she's okay, maybe it’s for the best that she doesn't remember the accident happening.” Nick says, trying to make me feel better.
“No, Nick. She doesn’t remember anything. She doesn’t remember me, she won't remember you, she doesn’t have any memory of the last 2 years at all.” I said, tears outlining my eyes.
Nick stood there with a horrified expression on his face. “You love her don’t you?” Nick whispers, so low that only us can hear.
“More than anything Nick, more than anything I know.”
“Do you think I could go in and see her?” Nick questions.
“If you want, but she’s stressed out at the minute.. Just try your best not to make anything worse.” I say, as Nick nods at me, getting up to gently knock on the door to Y/n’s room.
I take my eyes off Nick and lock eyes with Emily.
“Can we go outside for a minute for some air?” I asked her, knowing I'm about to have a conversation that I should’ve handled differently nights ago.

when you know you know - matt sturniolo
in which seeing matt interact with your little cousin tugs on your heartstrings
┊ ✫ ┊ ┊ ☾⋆ ┊ ⊹ ┊ ⋆ ┊
Nerves were running rampant through Matt's body. You could practically feel it. Most of the car ride had been silent, which was unusual. The two of you would normally talk the whole time, talking about your day or anything that was on your mind.
However, Matt was too uneasy to speak. Today he was finally going to be meeting the rest of your family. He had met your parents a few months earlier, and of course, he was nervous, but this was a whole different level of anxiousness.
You two had been together for almost a year. He had met your parents a few months in, and they absolutely adored him. It was the same way when you met his. But, meeting the rest of your family was an even bigger deal to him.
Every year, your family would host a big cookout in the summer. It was a way for everyone to see each other and catch up. And you thought it would be the perfect idea to bring Matt.
"It's okay, baby." Your hand found his arm, gently grabbing onto the tattooed skin. You began to rub patterns onto the skin, trying to calm him down. His eyes left the road for a split second, locking onto yours. You gave him a small smile as you looked into his eyes. They were slightly widened, which told you just how anxious he was. "I'll be with you the whole time."
After about twenty more minutes of driving, Matt pulled his car into your aunt's driveway. You watched his fingers slightly tremble as he took the key out of the ignition, which made you frown to yourself. "You ready, babe?" you asked as you unbuckled your seatbelt. He gave a short nod before the both of you exited the car.
You stood hand in hand at the front door, waiting for someone to open it. Matt occasionally gave your hand a squeeze, which you learned was a way he coped with his anxiety. Soon enough, the door opened to reveal your little cousin. "Y/n!" she squealed. She ran up to you, wrapping herself around your body. Her head rested on your stomach as she looked up at you, making you laugh.
"Hi, Julie." Julie was your little cousin and was only six years old. Over the years, the two of you had grown quite close. At every family event, she stayed attached to your hip. "How have you been, pretty girl?"
"Good."
You turned to look at Matt. He had a big smile on his face as he looked down at Julie. "She's the cutest isn't she?" He nodded at you. "Julie, this is Matt." She looked up at him, shyly waving at him.
"Hi, Julie." He held his hand out for a high five, which she hesitantly accepted.
"Y/n, it's so good to see you." Your aunt came around the corner, wiping her hands on her pants. Based on that, you could tell she had been cooking. She loved to cook and you always enjoyed her food. Her arms wrapped around you, pulling you into her chest for a hug. As she pulled away, she looked you up and down. "Don't you look awful pretty?"
"You know I get it from my mama," you replied with a laugh.
Her eyes wandered from you and over to Matt. She gave him a quick look before looking back to you. "Oh, this is Matt."
"It's nice to meet you, Matt." She pulled him in for a quick hug, which he stiffly accepted. "I'm Y/n's aunt Veronica."
"It's nice to meet you, Mrs. L/N."
"Oh, please call me Veronica. Calling me Mrs. sounds so old," she said with a laugh. A nervous chuckle left his mouth as he nodded. "Well, I'll let y'all get out there. I gotta get back to the kitchen anyway."
You grabbed Matt's hand and led him out to the backyard. Your parents were sitting at a table, talking to your grandparents. You walked over towards them, Matt following close behind you.
You wrapped your arms around your mom, resting your head on her shoulder. "Hi, my girl." Your mom grabbed onto your arms, giving them a loving squeeze.
You pulled away, making her turn around in her seat. Her eyes landed on Matt, immediately lighting up. "Matt, it's good to see you, honey." He walked over to her, giving her a quick hug.
After your father hugged you, he walked over to Matt, giving him a pat on the back. "It's good to see you. Don't be too nervous, I was in your position not too long ago," he joked. Matt let out a laugh, which made you smile to yourself.
For the next few hours, you spent your time stuffing your face and introducing Matt to the rest of your family. It was safe to say they liked him already. And you could see every ounce of nervousness leave his body.
After a quick trip to the bathroom, you made your way back outside. From across the yard, you could see Matt and Julie. She was on her swing and Matt stood behind her, gently pushing her forward. The sight alone made your heart burst.
You walked back to the table, taking a seat beside your aunt. Your eyes were still glued onto Matt, smiling as you saw how he interacted with Julie. How he made sure he was gentle and the big, toothy grin he had on his face. The sound of Julie's precious giggles filled your ears, making you clutch onto your heart.
"You picked a good one." You turned your attention to your aunt, who nudged your shoulder. "I've never seen her be so comfortable with someone so quick before."
"I know." The two of you sat side by side, watching as Matt played with Julie.
As the night came to an end, the sun started to set, making the air around you get chilly. After telling all of your aunts and uncles goodbye, you made your way over to Matt. He was still playing with Julie, only they had moved to her little table in the grass.
As you got closer, you saw Julie asleep on Matt's lap, her head resting on his chest. A little bit of drool shined from the corner of her mouth making you laugh to yourself. But the way Matt held onto her made butterflies erupt in your stomach. It's almost like he was made for this. Just seeing how good he was with kids made your heart stop.
"You ready to go?"
He placed his finger to his lips, making a shushing sound. "We gotta put to her bed first," he whispered. He carefully stood up, making sure not to wake her. His hand found the back of her head, holding her against his chest. You led him up into her room, tucking her in for bed.
When the two of you were back in the car, you couldn't help but sigh to yourself. It was such a good day for both of you. "What?"
You turned to look at him. "They loved you, Matt. They really did." You grabbed onto his hand, interlocking his fingers with yours. "Seeing you with Julie really made me happy. You don't understand how cute you looked." He softly laughed, squeezing your fingers.
No one in the world could be better for you.

taste like the fourth of july .°୭̥ ❁ ˎˊ˗ tom glynn carney x fem!reader
summary: it’s the fourth of july and tom finds it a great opportunity to introduce his new fiancé, y/n l/n to his non-family, family.
warnings: drinking, smoking, and the cast being themselves.
𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐂𝐊 𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐓 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐇 𝐎𝐅 𝐉𝐔𝐋𝐘🇺🇸🎆 !
word count; 1k
sitting in the car as the radio played music from y/n’s playlist that was connected to the car, her hand fiddling with the silver ring on her finger.
tom with one hand on the steering wheel and the other on his lap to rest, he noticed how y/n failed to speak the whole car ride to the park where he and his friends planned to meet for the fireworks. turning to look at her he smiled sweetly and reached over to place his hand on hers.
gaining her attention, she turned to look at him. his eyes speaking words, she threw her head back a little and spoke—‘i’m sorry, okay? i’m just so nervous.’ she revealed tom laughed a bit at this.
‘about what? there’s no need to be nervous about meeting them, they’re all very nice’ he told her while squeezing her hand then then placing his hand on her thigh.
‘i know that’s why im so scared! some people are nice to people they secretly hate, i know it because i do it on a daily at work’ y/n and tom met through mutual acting in movies, the two playing love interests in their top two platforms of , the king and domina.
the media placed two and two together to see how close they’ve gotten which led to the two revealing their relationship and years later their engagement.
they loved each other both, endlessly. even if in their show they had to fake hate each other which tom had commented on a interview that—‘it’s actually hard to hate my fiancé, but i think i do pretty well’
as they pull up y/n let’s out a shaky breath and looked at his friend as they laughed, a faint shadow of the smoke belonging to someone who smoked, she looked at tom who busted out a laugh at how nervous she was.
‘your not serious.’ she deadpanned while watching tom laugh endlessly and loud.
‘i am! i’ve seen you play scenes that anyone would be nervous to do and your not but you're nervous to meet my friends?’ she rolled her eyes as he laughed and placed his head on her shoulder, her own smile cracking out.
‘stop tom!’ she yelled as he held her after she tried to push him—‘okay okay, i’m sorry. just come on, they’re nice and will love you as much as i do, come on.’ he told her, giving her a kiss on the lips which reciprocated.
walking out of the car and shutting it behind them she and tom met half way, placing his hand on the bottom of her back close to her bottom, right above her blue jeans.
y/n thought it would be cute to dress with blue shorts and her white shorts with tom’s cowboy boots. her wore a hat that’s he got him a bit ago when they went to coachella together.
‘hey!’ one of his friends yelled, a cigarette in his mouth as he held a beer can in his other hand, tom recimpocater the excitement as he went and greeted his friends before stopping—‘oh, this is y/n, my fiancé’ he cheesed as they all awed and made their way over to y/n who smiled at them, nervous
‘hey guys’ she said.
‘awh she’s sweet isn’t she?’ one with dark red and long hair the other next to her nodding, they had shorter hair.
olivia and emma. tom gave a run down on everyone before they arrived.
the two giving her a hug as phia ran up—‘your just a beauty aren’t you? oh my gosh’ she gushed, leaning in to give her a hug and kiss on the cheek which y/n gave back on hers.
‘oh stop, your beautiful’ y/n told her as phia smiled sweetly and leaned in, turning around to her other friends, edwan, emily, milly, and harry following the other bunch catching up.
‘what a crowd, i’m so nervous’ y/n placed a hand on her chest as they laughed, matt inhaling his smoke before dropping it in the grass.
they all spoke and talked amongst themselves, tom watching as y/n talked and laughed to his friends. he was beyond happy with the outcome of this, he was happy she was able to fit in with the crowd .
y/n talked with phia and harry while she ate the rocket shaped ice pop that tom handed her out of the cooler. he stood next to her as he spoke to matt and milly, emma and olivia talking not to far as they smoked their shrinking cigarettes.
‘wait! so when is the wedding?’ olivia asked, walking over to the tow as they turned and shrugged—‘we actually don’t know yet, but we were thinking something small like a bar or something? i don’t want too much going into it, so we wanted it small’ y/n nodded as tom did as well at her words.
‘oh that’s great, i hope to get a invite?’ she laughed while y/n nodded—‘obviously!’
‘guys! it’s starting!’ milly yelled with a smile as they heard a boom being them. turning to see fireworks shooting into the air, everyone watched and laughed, leaning into each other where they stood.
y/n who leaned into the american flag like a blanket with phia which she got before arriving.
tom pulled out his camera recorder and filmed the entire thing, turning to show y/n and zooming into her as, her hand holding her can of her drink and a cigarette, seeing the camera she blew a kiss at the camera, him making a kissing sound behind it to give her a air kiss which she laughed at.
sipping their drinks, inhaling their smokes and enjoying the view. tom pulling walked over and grabbed y/n by her waist, looking down at her lips and smiling—‘are you having fun?’ he asked, keeping their close proximity .
she smiled and leaned in, giving him a sweet kiss on his lips which he hummed into—‘get a room!’ phia yelled as she laughed when the two separated but not letting go.

christmas (baby please come home) — matt sturniolo
summary: when a twist of fate reunites you and matt at a holiday gathering, old wounds resurface, forcing you to confront the love you thought you'd buried years ago.
The first snow of December blanketed the town in a pristine white sheen, softening the harshness of the biting cold. You adjusted your scarf as you pulled into the driveway of the charming, snow-dusted cabin, your heart pounding more from nerves than the chill. Beside you, Paul grinned, completely oblivious to the storm brewing within your chest.
“Ready to meet the family?” he asked, his voice warm and inviting.
You forced a smile, nodding. “Of course. I’m sure they’ll love me.”
The words were meant to reassure him, but you were the one who needed convincing. The holidays with Paul’s family should have been exciting, but an unshakable anxiety had clung to you since the moment he mentioned the gathering.
“They’re really great,” Paul continued as he unloaded your bags from the car. “You’ll love Julie. She’s the sweetest, and her boyfriend Matt is a good guy. Quiet, but cool.”
The name struck you like a thunderclap. You froze, the winter air suddenly suffocating. Matt? Surely, it couldn’t be…
“Matt?” you echoed, your voice tighter than you intended.
“Yeah,” Paul said casually. “You’ll meet him inside. I think he and Julie already got here. Come on, let’s head in. I can’t wait for you to meet everyone.”
You followed reluctantly, your feet heavy with dread. Five years had passed since you last saw Matthew Sturniolo—five years since your love story had crumbled into silence. You hadn’t heard from him, hadn’t tried to reach out, hadn’t dared to look back.
The cabin door opened to a wave of warmth and chatter, the smell of pine mingling with cinnamon and nutmeg. Paul greeted his sister, Julie, with a hug before turning to introduce you.
And there he was.
Matt stood by the fireplace, his eyes locking on yours the moment you walked in. Time hadn’t dulled the intensity of his gaze. If anything, it made it sharper, weighted with unspoken words. His hair was longer than you remembered, and he carried himself with a confidence you didn’t recognize. But it was him.
“Y/N, this is my sister, Julie,” Paul said, oblivious to the tension suddenly thickening the room. “And that’s her boyfriend, Matt.”
Julie extended a hand, her smile radiant. “So nice to meet you!”
You shook her hand automatically, murmuring a polite response. But your eyes flickered back to Matt, who hadn’t moved, hadn’t spoken.
“Y/N,” he said finally, his voice low, laced with disbelief.
Paul glanced between you two, frowning slightly. “Wait… you two know each other?”
The air crackled with the weight of the truth neither of you wanted to say. You swallowed hard, forcing a tight smile.
“We… grew up together,” you said lightly, as though the memories of your shared childhood and the heartbreak that followed weren’t threatening to choke you.
“Oh, small world!” Julie beamed. “This is going to be such a fun week!”
Matt’s jaw tightened, his eyes never leaving you. You could feel the questions in his gaze, the ghosts of your past clawing their way to the surface.
And as the snow continued to fall outside, blanketing the world in a deceptive quiet, you realized this holiday was about to be anything but peaceful.
The cabin was alive with the warmth of laughter and crackling wood, but you had never felt more cold. Dinner was a blur of introductions, family stories, and clinking glasses. Your polite smiles were automatic, but your focus wavered each time you caught Matt’s eyes across the table. He sat beside Julie, their hands intertwined. Paul sat next to you, his arm draped over the back of your chair. The perfect symmetry of their group didn’t feel perfect at all.
“So, Matt,” Paul began, breaking your thoughts, “how did you and Julie meet?”
Matt hesitated for the briefest moment, his fork pausing mid-air. “Through mutual friends,” he said, his voice even. “It just… clicked.”
Julie leaned into him, smiling. “He was so shy, but I thought that was cute. He’s not as quiet as he seems, though—he has the driest sense of humor once you get to know him.”
You swallowed hard, forcing a bite of your mashed potatoes past the lump in your throat. That used to be your discovery, your secret treasure. You could still remember the way Matt used to make you laugh when no one else could, his wit sharp but never cruel.
“And what about you, Y/N/N?” Julie asked, her question dripping with unintentional irony. “How’d you and Paul meet?”
You blinked, startled by the use of the nickname you hadn’t heard in years. Matt’s head tilted slightly at the sound of it, and your stomach twisted.
“Uh, at a bookstore,” you said, managing a smile. “He asked me for a recommendation, and we just… started talking.”
Paul grinned, nudging your shoulder. “She’s underselling it. I walked into that store looking for a novel, and I walked out with a date.”
Everyone laughed, except for Matt, whose expression hardened almost imperceptibly. You pretended not to notice, but the tension followed you even as dinner wound down.
The forecast had warned of heavy snow, and by morning, the world outside was a swirling whiteout. Paul and Julie were busy in the kitchen, preparing lunch, while the others scattered around the cabin. You found yourself in the living room, staring out the window, lost in thought.
“Still hate the snow?”
The voice behind you was low, familiar, and entirely unwelcome. You turned to find Matt standing a few feet away, his arms crossed.
“Some things don’t change,” you replied, your tone colder than you intended.
He nodded, his gaze dropping to the floor. “You haven’t changed much, either.”
“Neither have you,” you said, sharper now.
A bitter laugh escaped him. “I think we both know that’s not true.”
You looked away, the unspoken weight of your shared past pressing on your chest. “Why are you talking to me, Matt? We’re not kids anymore. We don’t owe each other anything.”
“I’m not trying to stir things up,” he said, his voice softening. “I just—being here, seeing you—it’s… strange.”
“Strange?” you repeated, your voice trembling. “You think strange covers it? After everything—” You stopped yourself, taking a deep breath. “You have a girlfriend. I have Paul. Let’s not make this harder than it has to be.”
His jaw tightened, but he nodded. “You’re right. I’ll leave you alone.”
And just like that, he walked away, leaving you to the silence and the storm raging outside.
By the fourth night, the cabin’s family festivities had culminated in a bonfire behind the house. The fire’s warm glow illuminated the whole group as you huddled under blankets, sipping hot cocoa and sharing stories. But you felt like an outsider looking in.
You sat beside Paul, who was animatedly recounting a funny story about his childhood, while Julie leaned against Matt, her laughter filling the air. It was all so picture-perfect, so maddeningly normal.
“I need some air,” you murmured to Paul, excusing yourself before anyone could ask questions.
You wandered a little away from the fire, the cold biting through your jacket. You weren’t surprised when Matt followed you, his footsteps crunching in the snow.
“Y/N—”
“Stop,” you said, turning to face him. Your eyes glistened, reflecting the firelight. “Why are you doing this? Why are you making it so hard to forget?”
“I’m not trying to,” he said, his voice hoarse. “I just—I can’t pretend you’re not here. I can’t pretend like seeing you doesn’t hurt.”
Your breath hitched, your resolve crumbling. “Do you think it’s easy for me? Seeing you with her, pretending like we didn’t spend half our lives planning a future together?”
“Then why did you leave?” he asked, the words spilling out before he could stop them. “Why didn’t you fight for us?”
Your eyes filled with tears, but you held his gaze. “Because you didn’t ask me to stay.”
The weight of your words hit him like a freight train. For years, he had carried the blame, the bitterness of their breakup. But now, the truth was laid bare between you, raw and unforgiving.
“Y/N…”
“I can’t do this,” you whispered, shaking your head. “Not here. Not now.”
You turned away, walking back to the bonfire, leaving him standing alone in the dark.
The week passed in a blur, tension simmering just beneath the surface. By the time the last day arrived, you were eager to leave. You packed your bags with shaky hands, avoiding Matt as much as possible.
But fate had other plans. You found him outside, leaning against your car, his expression unreadable.
“You’re really leaving without saying anything?” he asked, his voice quieter than before.
You hesitated, glancing around the snow-covered driveway before stepping closer. “What do you want me to say, Matt?”
“I don’t know,” he admitted, shoving his hands into his jacket pockets. “I just… I think we should talk.”
Your stomach tightened, but you nodded, leaning against the hood of the car beside him.
“I’ve been thinking,” you started, your voice steady despite the storm in your chest. “About Paul. About Julie. About us.”
“Me too,” he said, looking straight ahead, avoiding your eyes. “It’s not fair to them, is it? The way we’ve been acting this week.”
“No,” you agreed softly. “It’s not.”
Silence settled between you, the kind that spoke louder than any words. Finally, you turned to face him, your breath forming small clouds in the cold air.
“Julie’s good for you,” you said, forcing the words out even though they felt like glass. “I can see it. She makes you laugh. She looks at you the way I used to.”
He flinched at that, his jaw tightening. “Paul’s good for you, too. He seems like the kind of guy who knows how to take care of someone. He’s… steady.”
“He is,” you admitted, your voice trembling slightly. “But he’s not you, Matt. And maybe that’s a good thing.”
He turned to you then, his eyes filled with something between regret and longing. “I feel the same about Julie. She’s amazing, and she deserves someone who can give her everything. But I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to do that—not completely—not with you still in my head.”
Your breath hitched, and for a moment, you just stared at each other, the weight of your words sinking in.
“So what do we do?” you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
Matt sighed, running a hand through his hair. “We try to be better. For them. For ourselves. We made choices, and it’s not fair to drag everyone else into our mess.”
You nodded slowly, tears welling in your eyes. “Maybe we don’t get a second chance. Maybe this is just… how it has to end.”
“Maybe,” he said, though his voice was thick with doubt. “But if there’s anything I’ve learned this week, it’s that I still want you to be happy, even if it’s not with me.”
Your tears spilled over, but you smiled through them, a bittersweet expression that mirrored his. “I want that for you, too.”
You stood there for a moment longer, the snow falling gently around you, before you stepped forward, wrapping your arms around him in a brief, fierce hug.
“Goodbye, Matt,” you whispered.
“Goodbye, Y/N/N,” he replied, his voice breaking.
As you got into your car and drove away, leaving the cabin behind, you felt a strange sense of peace. You weren’t meant to be, not now. But maybe that was okay. Some endings weren’t about closure—they were about choosing to move forward, even when the past still lingered.

Song for Imagine: Tell Me I’m Dreaming- Los Yesterdays
The star make diamonds
Upon your face
The moon smiles down
From outer space
“And the Princess was so so sad because she thought her Prince didn’t want to be with her. He said he was afraid that he would hurt her” I said as I slid the sock on my daughters foot
“No! Mommy… the Princess needs her Prince” She said getting sad
“But then on a rainy cold night the Princess sat in her room, crying and holding her pillow close to her chest. Oh how she wished her Prince would come back” I said as I finished slipping her sneakers on, scooting over to put the socks and sneakers on her twin sister
“And then what?” She practically screeched
“Suddenly a soaking wet Prince ran up her castle stairs and bursted into her room. He fell to his knees crying with a bouquet of flowers in his hand. Begging the Princess to take him back and saying how foolish he had been. He said he wanted nothing more than to spend the rest of his life with her and to make her his Queen” I said watching as her and her sisters eyes lit up
“Did she take him back? Mommy please tell me she took him back” They both screeched as they clung onto their pink stuffed bunnies
“The Princess did! She got up and grabbed the Prince sooo tight and she kissed him” I replied
“Ewwww” they started scrunching their faces up as I laughed
“And they stood there hugging forever. And next thing you know they became King and Queen, they got married and had two twin girls” I replied as I smiled
“Twin girls? Like us!” They said as their eyes lit up
“Just like you both” I responded winking
“Mommy, is that a real story?” they asked
“Yes it is and your daddy was the stupid Prince who almost made the worst decision of his life” Matt suddenly spoke from the bedroom door frame
“DADDYYYYYY” they yelled as they jumped off their beds and into Matt’s embrace. Which caused me to smile
“Daddy you almost didn’t marry mommy? How could you? That’s so silly… she’s the best mama ever” Our daughter asked him
“I know daddy wasn’t so smart when he was younger. I’ll never forget that rainy night. You know that’s why your name is Lluvia. It’s Spanish for rainy season and you so happened to be born during a rainy season” Matt said kissing her on the forehead
“And what about me?” My other daughter asked him
“You’re Luna which is Latin for the moon, the night you both were born it happened to be a full moon and raining” I responded as I took Luna from Matt’s arm
“Mommy and Daddy are so cool” Lluvia squealed as she giggled
“We’re the coolest” I said winking at them
“Now who’s ready for that trip” Matt asked them as they started to jump around in our arms
“MEEEEE” they both yelled
We put them down and let them run down the stairs. Watching to make sure they got to the bottom we both let out a sigh.
Matt looked over at me and pulled me into a hug. Pulling back slightly I leaned in and planted a kiss to his lips.
“I can’t believe we’re 26 with a house and kids” I said reminiscing on our teenage years
Matt and I had been together since we were 18 and friends our whole life. It’s so crazy that this gross sticky boy I used to be neighbors with is the father of my kids and my husband….full circle moment
“Twins at that…. Want one more?” He asked me as he cocked an eyebrow
“With our luck I’d pop out another set of twins or even triplets” I said laughing as I grabbed the girls mini suitcases
“We’d have a herd of Sturniolos” he said giggling
“A herd is insanity, the girls are 4… so another one or two wouldn’t hurt” I said looking over at him
“Good thing we’re all going to be in separate rooms up in the Cod” he responded winking at me
“You are sickkk” I said smacking him playfully
Loading up the car we buckled the girls in. Matt and I’s family always went to Cape Cod during the summer months. It has been a tradition since before we were born. So naturally we thought now was the perfect time to start taking them.
Lucky for us Matt purchased a cabin out there near his parents and my parents so we’d be able to have family get togethers and always be around one another.
Given it was Fourth Of July weekend we thought it was perfect for a whole family get together.
Our hour and a half drive flew by as we spent most of it listening to Disney hits and stopping the girls from fighting with one another. They were just like Matt and his brothers.
We arrived after everyone and settled our stuff into our cabin. Taking the short walk over to his parents where everyone was at.
“Yooooo” Chris said as we walked out back to where everyone was sitting
“Hey guys” I said as I put the girls down
One ran to my mom and the other ran to Mary-Lou. As they hugged their grandparents I said hi to mine and my in laws.
“How was the ride out here?” Jimmy asked Matt
“Not too bad for holiday weekend to be honest” he said opening up the cooler and getting a juice pouch out for each of the girls
“Y/N how are you? Matt driving you crazy?” Justin asked me
“I’m good and honestly he’s been better” I said winking at Matt
Nick came over to play with the girls as I chatted with everyone.
“Okay but who’s the best uncle?” Chris asked Luna
“You both are” Luna said
“What? Not fair I’m better” he said crossing his arms over his chest
“I like Nick the best” Lluvia said as she hugged Nicks arm
“Only because he lets you do whatever you want” Chris said
“nuh uh” she said shaking her head
“Yuh huh” Chris said shaking his head
“He went from fighting with us like a child to fighting with our kids like a child” Matt said laughing
“You’re a meany uncle Chris” Lluvia said sticking her tongue out
“La La La La I can’t hear you” he said covering his ears and sticking his tongue out at her
“Will you quit being a child” Nick said smacking Chris
Giggling at them it was closer to dinner time. We all sat at the large table outside as we chatted.
The girls sat on my lap and Matt sat next to me. Turning our chairs towards each other Matt was feeding the girls while I ate.
Cutting up their hotdogs into bite size pieces he fed them as I held on to them. Wiping their mouth and giving them a sip of their waters
“Babe do you want the rest of my burger”I asked Matt
“Yeah, leave it there I’ll finish it” He said nodding his head
“All done” Matt said in his baby voice as the girls finished eating
“Grandma” Luna said as she began to slide out my arms
“You want to go with grandma” Matt asked her
She nodded her head and rubbed her eyes, anytime Mary Lou was around Luna had to lay on her and fall asleep. Lluvia reached out to my dad and so I gave her to him. Somehow within 10 minutes she landed in Justin’s arms and was dozing off.
Matt sat down and began to eat, standing up I headed over to the cooler and grabbed him a root beer. Opening it up for him I placed it next to his plate.
“Thank you baby” he responded winking at me
“You’re welcome, thank you for feeding them and letting me eat” I said blowing him a kiss
“Always my love” he said taking a sip of his soda
“It’s so funny to me watching you all grow up together. Sitting here at this table since birth and now two of our babies are married with babies” My mom said
“It’s so interesting to watch. I for sure thought Y/N hated all of them. I never imagined Matt and her to end up together” Justin said giggling
“I always thought yall had cooties and that’s why I never liked hanging out with you guys till we got older. I never thought Matt and I would need up together it’s so funny” I responded
“You guys just work so well together, I love you guys” Chris said reaching over and hugging Matt
Laughing at this we all finished our dinner. Having dessert with coffee as we watched the fireworks. The girls enjoy all the pretty colors.
We laid in the grass with the girls as we watched the fireworks. Reminiscing about our past.
We spent the rest of the weekend there jumping between houses for hangouts. And even getting alone time with Matt’s brothers as our parents took the kids. It was beautiful and peaceful, and I loved Matt and the girls with all my heart…
The End
Idk how I feel about this, but I hope you enjoyed it!!!! Can't wait to post more akekekek. Love yall dearly I’m almost at 2,640 followers which is insanity to me. Thank you sooo much🥹🖤🖤

summary : growing up in the ‘middle of nowhere’ small town in lochcliff, colorado, stories were heard of multiple strange disappearances, murders, animal attacks, and more. when you were younger, you never paid attention to that stuff. now at the age of 17 it’s all you ever hear about. what happens when you realize those ‘stories’ you heard growing up, may not just be scary fairytales people tell their kids.
warning ⚠️ : contains mature themes, smut, gore (nothing insane), angst, etc. this warning is for all chapters.
(this does take some inspiration from tvd !)
chapter 1 : new beginning’s.
“y/n! breakfast!”
my eyes flutter open, my sleepy state slowly exiting my body as my consciousness floods through my mind. i take in a deep breath as i sit up in my bed. the sunlight from the early morning hours poking through my curtains, painting a beautiful blue and orange hue on my walls as i watch dust particles float along my room.
i look over to my wooden dresser across from me, my reflection staring back at me through the mirror above it. my pile of clothes i had chosen to wear for today the night before, picking out my outfit for my first day of my junior year.
when i was a kid, i was so excited to finally be a teenager. thinking of all the possibilities i could get. but ever since the day after i turned 16, i realized that being a teenager and growing up would be nothing but a disappointment and the little girl inside’s dreams and life was crushed that day.
“y/n! i’m not gonna yell for you again!” my mothers voice cuts through the silence of my thoughts.
“i’m coming!” i shout back as my feet make contact with the cold floor below me.
i shuffle myself to my bedroom door to shut it as i get dressed, the creepy creaking of the door making me shudder. the fact that this house is over 150 years old will never not cross my mind when i watch paranormal movies like the conjurings.
i quickly change into a tight fitted brown long sleeve shirt and a pair of baggy blue jeans, given it’s the end of august now, the early mornings and late nights are becoming a little chillier compared to the june and july nights from the beginning of summer. lastly, throwing on some black converse and grabbing my backpack filled with untouched supplies for the new school year ahead. before i leave my room i decide on throwing on just a small silver necklace with my first initial of my name on it.
i exit my room and make my way down the squeaky wooden stairs. the squeaks and creaks acting as a calling to my mom to let her know i’m coming down.
“glad to see you finally grace us with your presence.” my mother states as she flips a pancake onto a grey glass plate, holding it up for me as i enter the kitchen.
i push my lips into a thin line as i nod and take the plate from her, uttering a small thank you as i sit at the kitchen island, placing my bag on the floor beside the black stood i sit on.
“corbin, are you taking your sister to school?” i hear her ask my older brother who sits beside me.
corbin, who’s a year and a half older than me, is now a senior. he’s the most typical semi-popular guy in our school. his fluffy brown hair and dark eyes is what pulls most of the girls’s attention. he’s a jock, but he says he doesn’t “fit in” with the rest of the football team so he stays more to himself. people know him but he doesn’t boast about his athleticism or his popularity.
he takes a sip of his orange juice before answering, “yeah i can. you ready?” he questions me.
i take one last bite of my pancake as i nod, standing up to grab my backpack. i swing it over my shoulder and walk over to the front door. “bye mom, love you.” i yell as i head out the door. i hear my brother telling her his goodbyes as i stroll to his car, opening the passenger seat door.
i watch him climb into the driver’s seat before he turns the radio on, immediately connecting it to his phone playing ‘tunnel vision’ by kodak black.
he turns his head to look both ways before pulling out of our rocky driveway. i turn to look at our house as i watch it fade into the distance. “so, you ready for junior year?”
“uh, yeah. what about you? are you ready for senior year?” i ask him in response.
he nods his head almost immediately. “oh yeah. i’m so ready to graduate and finally get out of this dumbass town.”
“agreed.” i speak as i lean back into seat.
silence takes over us as we continue the ride with the songs of my brothers choice fading to the back of my mind. the morning sky now being covered in a gloomy grey cast. the dead leaves ascending from the trees creating an orange blanket across the roads and sidewalks.
the car comes to a halt as we sit at a red light, i look around taking in notice of the beautiful scenery around us. historic buildings and parks flooding my eye-line, kids and teenagers on their way to the start of their new school years.
once the red light turns to green, we begin on our way again. i look back to my right, looking out the window, watching the trees and buildings pass by in a blur. i take notice of a guy walking with his headphones in, and his back turned to us, seemingly on the same route as we are. once we get closer to him to the point i can see his side profile coming into view, i watch him turn his head to look at the car coming beside him. the second he turns his view to the car, we lock eyes.
it’s almost as if time itself has changed, slowed down. i question myself on if i’ve ever seen him before but his face doesn’t ring any bells. he’s pale with icy blue eyes. a jaw that’s so sharp it looks like it could slice your finger open with even the softest and lightest touch. a stare so prominent and hypnotizing i almost forget my whole existence until he fades out of view.
i quickly turn myself to face in front of me. my eyebrows furrow as i try to understand what just happened to me and if it even happened. it felt like i entered a dream-like state while being fully awake.
“we’re here.” i hear corbin’s voice cut through the voice in my head as i feel the car come to a complete standstill.
i rapidly blinked my eyes as i see the high school building standing before me. not even realizing we were already at the school.
“you gonna get out or what?”
i quickly nod my head as i unbuckle my seatbelt and climb out of the car. i make my way towards the school alongside my brother. the sounds of students chattering among themselves as they walk into the building all around us.
“hey, junior year isn’t that bad. just keep your head up and you’ll be fine. i’ll see you after school.” corbin speaks to me as he parts from me to find his group of friends whom always meet up in the gym every morning, it’s been a routine of theirs since 7th grade.
i make my way to my locker, putting in the combination i wrote down on my notes app from the school’s letter they mail every student at the end of summer. the piece of paper giving them their class schedule, locker number and combination, etc.
“y/n!” i hear my best friend jayde’s voice through the loud obnoxious students at 8 am.
i turn around, flashing her a smile as i watch her come up to me. “hey jayde!”
“hey! i’m sorry we couldn’t hang out any this summer. what’s your schedule? maybe we have some classes together!” she says as she wraps me in a warm embrace.
jayde is very passionate about music and all of that. so the second our school announced that there would be a music and arts camp, she was the first to have her signature on the sign up sheet.
“no it’s okay and let me check.” i grab my class schedule out of my back pocket before i read off my classes, “first period is language arts, then history, math, then my free period, reading, gym, and science.”
she takes out her own schedule as she tries to match up any classes we may have together.
“ooo! okay! we have history, gym and our free period together!” she say enthusiastically.
as soon as i’m about to respond, the school bell cuts me off. the loud blaring shooting a pain through my mind reminding me of how much i despise school.
“okay well i’ll see you second period!” she struts off into the crowd of people, her long black hair bouncing with every step she takes.
i begin my own way to the room i’ll be entering at 8:10am every day on the dot for the next 9 months of my life.
the second i enter the classroom, my already present headache worsens with how painfully loud everyone is. different conversations and pencils being tapped on the wooden desks.
i walk to a free desk in the second row of the seat’s layout. the placement being in pretty much the middle of the classroom where i’m fully submerged by the persistent voices of students. as i sit down i stare off into the distance i wish i was back in my bed already.
a/n : i’m so excited to start this series! i started watching tvd again and it brought me inspiration to write this. plus vampire!matt is so fucking hot. anyways lmk if i should make a taglist or anything or if yall fw this and want me to keep going ! :)

,,Love Me Harder”
-M.S
Synopsis: You have been dating Matthew for a few years now, but he has somehow sustained keeping a major secret from you. What will you do when you find out this secret of his? Will it scare you away, or will it pull you closer?
Pairing: Vampire!Matt X Fem!Reader
Warnings: Mentions of blood, rough smut, dom!matt & sub!reader, degradation kink, unprotected p in v (wrap it before you tap it guys.), pet names (ma, mama, princess, pretty girl, ext.), matt the munch?! and literally SMUT so just don’t read if you don’t like smut. smd.
“Hey, baby! Smile!” You gape, lifting your phone camera to you and Matt. You lay comfortably across his body, your head on his chest. You were snapping people back, and you wanted to send your friends a cute picture of you and Matt.
Your soft voice caught his attention, and he obeyed. He placed a big smile on his face, his bright white teeth glimmering, and his eyes squinted. You giggled as you snapped the picture and brought your phone back down to your eye-level, and you saved the image. You didn’t inspect it very clearly, but you knew it was cute enough to save and keep for later purposes, like an anniversary or some other good occasion.
You scrolled through instagram, liking majority of the posts that you observed, even looking through some of the comments on your closer friends images. Some made you smile, others caused slight pain in your chest, but you knew all of your friends were strong and could handle the hate.
You snuggled closer to Matt, his large hand finding its way to your hair, gently stroking your head. This brought you comfort, something you always had when you were by Matt’s side. You decided to check Snapchat again, as you had been getting a few notifications here and there from people snapping you back.
You carelessly clicked through the images, not bothering to inspect any of them, knowing majority of them would just be pictures of the ceiling, floor, or maybe even half-faced snaps. You continued clicking through them, until you realized one had a text box on it. You curiously held down on your friend Julie’s icon, her snap showing back up on your screen.
You carefully read the small white letters illuminated on your screen. ‘Why are Matt’s teeth so sharp?😭’ The text read. Your eyebrows furrowed, and you were glad you had saved that image. You went back to the homepage, and clicked the image. You pulled your phone much closer to your face, as if you were a scientist inspecting a new specimen.
Julie was right, something was off about Matt’s canines. They seemed sharper than usual. Much sharper. You pulled your phone away from your face, as you glanced up at Matt. You reached your hand up, pulling his upper lip up, giving you a clear view of Matt’s canines. Sharp, but not as sharp as they were in the picture.
Matt’s eyebrows furrowed, as he let out a small chuckle, not pulling your hand away.
“Y/N, baby, what’re you doing?” Matt questioned, a confused look still plastered on both of your faces. Without a word, you let go of Matt’s lip, and brought your phone up to the boy’s face, showing him the image.
“Your teeth,” You stated. “Look at them.” Matt indeed looked, his eyes squinted just as they had been in the image, taken minutes before.
“Yeah? What about ‘em? They look nice?” Matt smirked, and you shook your head disapprovingly. “Hm? Wha’ddya mean no?” Matt raised a confused eyebrow, the smug look not leaving his face.
“Matt, look. They’re sharp.” You stated, now becoming slightly annoyed at Matt’s childish antics. You pulled your phone away from his face, swiping off the image. You sat up, and rotated your body, causing you to now be straddling Matt’s lap. His eyes widened and his hands flew to your hips. Your hand grabbed his chin forcefully, your thumb lifting his upper lip, once again giving you a clear view of his duller canines. You snapped a picture, and showed Matt.
You rapidly swiped through the images, giving the brunette boy below you barely even enough time to comprehend what he was looking at, let alone examine the differences between his teeth.
“Woah baby, slow down. Don’t wanna hurt yourself there, do ya, princess?” Matt teased, causing you to let out a frustrated groan.
“Matt!” You whined. “Look! Explain!” You demanded. He took your phone out of your hand, as his face seemingly contorts with confusion, a matching look on both of your faces.
“What the hell?” Matt’s eyebrows furrowed. “Did you use a filter?” He questioned, his bright blue eyes peering into yours.
“No!” You quickly replied. You snatched your phone back from his grip, as you began examining all of his other features. If there was many other things off, filter. If not, Matt has some explaining to do.
Your heart dropped as you realized another off-putting detail in the image. His usually bright blue ocean eyes were now blood red. You glanced up at him, as your heart began to race. How didn’t you realize it when you were looking earlier? Possibly because his eyes were squinted, and you were too focused on his damn teeth.
You sat up, pulling yourself quickly off of his body, beginning to get scared. What was going on?
“What’s the matter, baby?” Matt questioned, as he sat up after you. He tilted his head, and you examined everything about him. That picture. It was Matt, no doubt, but it wasn’t him.
“Y-your eyes,” You shook your head, showing Matt the image again, seemingly for the hundredth time. “Matt, why the fuck are your eyes red?” You question him. You had never been scared of Matt throughout your entire relationship, until now. He had always treated you with the utmost respect and care, you had never had a reason to feel so scared and vulnerable around him.
“Must’ve been the flash.” Lie. The flash wasn’t on. Sure, it was later at night, but we had the LED lights on, illuminating just enough light to easily determine all of our features.
“Matt the flash wasn’t on.” You stated as you watched his face drop.
“Fuck.” He mumbled. “Okay, Y/N, please hear me out.” Matt speaks softly, his hands finding their way to your shoulders, pulling you back down next to him, keeping you there. All you do is nod, before Matt begins speaking again. “I know this will scare you, but I’m just gonna be straightforward. I.. I’m a vampire.” Matt bites his bottom lip, his hands trailing down your arms, intertwining your fingers with his.
Your jaw dropped. Your boyfriend of three fucking years is a vampire, a mythical fucking creature, and you’re just finding this out? No doubt, this was insane. You felt a surge of what seemed like a million emotions rush through your body. Fear, anger, fascination, lust.
Matt’s eyes were filled with worry, but to ease his fear, you reached your hands out, cupping his jaw. You pulled his mouth open, rubbing your thumb along his canines.
“How?” You question, and he gives you a confused look.
“How what?” He asks, still confused as to why you didn’t leave him right then and there.
“How.. Y’know? How do you.. do that?” You asked, not sure how to word it. It’s not every day that you have to ask someone how they make their own fucking teeth sharper.
“What, this?” He asked, gently grabbing your wrist, pulling your hand out of his mouth. He closed his eyes, and moments later, his sharp canines reappeared. You just stared in awe and fascination, absolutely dumbfounded as to how the fuck he just did that. If this was just one elaborate prank, whoever orchestrated this was a mad scientist.
“Yeah! That!” You nodded eagerly.
“How’re you not.. scared?” He asked.
“Matt, we’ve been dating for over three years. If you’ve been a vampire this entire time, you would’ve hurt me a long while ago. I’m assuming. Plus, I trust you. I know you won’t hurt me. I’m just.. confused, is all. Not scared. If anything, I actually think it’s kind of hot.” You stated matter-of-factly. Matt hummed proudly. “How come i’ve never noticed?” You questioned, and Matt shrugged.
“Dunno, if i’m being honest. I’m only half vampire, though, so I can’t do any of that cool shit, and I can still see my reflection. I also don’t need to live off blood, which is pretty cool.” Matt hummed. “Hot, though?”
“Mhm. You’re hot to me regardless, and sharp teeth and red eyes? Hell yeah.” You admit, shamelessly. What was there to be ashamed about, anyways? He was still your boyfriend, after all.
“Yeah? Wanna see what these sharp teeth can do?” Matt smirked, his shit eating grin appearing once again. You can’t help the growing warmth between your thighs as you nod vigorously. “That’s a good girl.. Now, lay down,” Matt demanded, his voice deep and husky.
You did as you were told, and quickly laid down, flat on your back. Matt quickly hovered over you, placing a gentle kiss to your lips, which no doubt quickly turned into a rough heated kiss. You allowed Matt’s tongue to roam your mouth, as you let out small whimpers and moans, which were muffled out by Matt’s mouth against yours.
Matt pulled away from the kiss, both of your chests’ heaving, a thin string of glistening saliva connecting your mouths.
“Bite me, Matt,” You begged, and his eyes widened, and his eyebrows furrowed.
“You positive, pretty girl? It hurts, wouldn’t wanna hurt such a beautiful thing now, would we?” Matt tilted his head, and you let out a needy whine.
“Matt, please.” You begged. “Please, bite me.”
“As you wish,” Matt shrugged, his eyes filling with desire. “Say ‘light’ if you want me to stop, ‘kay, ma?” He asked. As odd as the safe word was, it was the word you both came up with the first time you had sex. You both agreed that it was a simple word, that neither of you would ever use in any concept of sex, so it just made sense.
“Okay! Just- please!” You let out a groan, and matt tutted.
“Such a fucking brat.” He growled, his lips meeting your neck. It started off as it usually did, him licking and sucking at your neck, sure to leave marks. He pulled your shirt down to your shoulder, leaving more of your collarbone exposed for him.
He opened his mouth wider than usual, and he placed his teeth harshly against your soft skin, and you knew this was going to be the bite. You braced yourself for the sharp pain, which you felt quickly after. Two of his teeth shot into your skin without warning, blood immediately beginning to drip down your collarbone to your shirt.
You let out a small moan at the foreign feeling, biting your lip to stifle the embarrassing sounds threatening to spill from your mouth.
Matt began to slightly suck at the mark, clearing all the blood off of the fresh wound.
“Oh my God,” You let out a throaty moan, and you felt Matt smile against your skin, knowing he satisfied you. You felt his teeth slowly retract out of your skin; his mouth leaving your red and sore neck. “God, Matt, I need you.” You were begging at this point. You’d do anything for more. Anything.
“Yeah?” Matt growled, examining the work he did on your red and purple neck, his thumb rubbing gently over the two shallow holes in your skin. “You’re so pretty, ma. So, so pretty.” He hummed, causing a shiver to run up your spine.
“Matt, please stop teasing,” You groaned, your back involuntarily arching up.
“I’m gonna take my time with you, darling. Don’t worry. I’ll take such good care of you.” He reassured, and you knew he would. He always does, but you couldn’t wait for his care. You whined, knowing there was nothing you could do or say that would make Matt move any faster than he already was. Matt would always take things slow during intimacy, always making sure you feel good, always slow and steady wins the race with Matt, that is until he is pounding in and out of you at a ruthless pace. He knows how to make you feel good. Thats for sure.
Your mind snaps back to Matt, as you feel his big cold hands tugging at the hem of your shirt. This was always his way of telling you to lift your arms so he could take your shirt off. So, you did. His mouth seems to water the second he lays eyes on your encased tits, the thick fabric of your black laced bra holding them up perfectly.
“Fuck, baby. Ya look so good for me,” He growls, his hands immediately finding the clasp of the bra behind you back, as he slipped it off with ease. His mouth quickly attached to your left nipple, as his hand comes up to fiddle with the right, making you moan loudly into the air, Matt’s mouth not there to quiet the loud whimpers any longer.
Matt groans against you, as if to tell you to quiet down. You completely forgot Nick and Chris were still in the house. However, even if you did feel bad Nick and Chris would have to listen to you get your brains fucked out by their brother, it was still the least of your worries. All you were focused on in the moment was the way Matt was making you feel. Amazing.
Matt’s mouth and hand detach from your sensitive breasts, causing you to let out a small whine from dissatisfaction.
“Be patient, baby. I’m getting there.” Matt cooed, but you paid him no mind. You love Matt dearly, but you just want him to hurry up.
“Hurry the fuck up, before I fuck myself.” You warn, causing Matt’s eyes to widen and his jaw tighten.
“Fine. If you want to act like a fucking brat, you’ll get fucked like a fucking brat.” Matt growls, unexpectedly ripping your shorts off and throwing them elsewhere in the room.
You look down at Matt, and he flashed you a smile, and you notice his canines are sharp once again. He knew you found it attractive, so now he was always going to be using that against you. He placed a gentle kiss on your clothed clit, you panties practically soaked at this point. The kiss left a small moisture on Matt’s lips, and he chuckled.
“Fuckin’ soaked, you slut.” Matt scoffed, showing his ‘disapproval’. You decide it’s best to keep your mouth shut, knowing the only words that would come out would be pathetic begs, which inevitably would make Matt move even slower than he already was.
You looked down at him, his now red eyes latching onto yours, as he bit the top of your panties, pulling them down with only his mouth, leaving your soaked core visible to him. It was a sight he’d never get over seeing.
“So fucking gorgeous,” Matt smiled, knowing all of your dripping wetness was from him, and for him. Matt’s fingers found their way to your slick folds, running two of his fingers through them a few times, as he littered kisses all over your inner thighs. You whined at the feeling that was much missed.
Matt used those same two fingers to spread open your folds, leaving you embarrassed and open, If felt unfair to you, that you were naked, yet Matt was still completely clothed. You’ve learned your lessons from the past, though, and decided it’s best to not say anything.
You felt Matt’s hot breath against your core, before his tongue dove into you with no warning. You gasped at the sudden feeling, your back arching and your hand flying to his soft brown hair. His teeth scraping ever so gently at your folds, and oddly enough, it felt nice. It was definitely something you could get used to.
“F-Fuck, Matt!” You cry, his tongue working magic against you. His tongue dipped in and out of your entrance, as his nose brushed against your clit, making you squirm. Matt’s hands firmly grasped your hips, in attempts to keep you from continuing to move around. “O-Oh, my God! I-I’m close!” You moaned, feeling embarrassed that you were already close, but Matt sure as hell knows how to work his tongue. They one-hundred percent call him ‘Matt the Munch’ for a reason.
“Already, you whore?” Matt scoffed, taking his mouth off me, but quickly replacing it with his fingers, his thumb brushing against your clit as his fingers dove in and out of you. You hummed in response to Matt’s question, and he rolled his eyes. “Go ahead.” He demanded, and you felt the knot that had been getting tighter and tighter all night finally snap.
“F-Fuck, t-thank you,” You pant, doing your best to catch your breath as quick as you could, knowing Matt was nowhere near done with you quite yet.
Matt slips his shirt off, throwing it into the pile of the other disregarded clothing that had been there from earlier. He was now hovering over you, slipping his pants off. He looks as if he was a hawk eyeing its prey, which if you think about it, it’s basically what is happening.
Matt pulls his pants and boxers off all together in one swift motion, causing his hardened cock to spring out and hit his stomach. His cock was perfect size for you, maybe even just a bit too big for your liking.
“Face down, ass up.” Matt demands. Usually Matt experiments with positions, but missionary was always his favorite. He claims its because he loves to see your face as you go dumb for his cock. However, who were you to judge? You didn’t mind doggy, so there was no effort in trying to refuse.
You flopped over, grabbing a few pillows, making it more comfortable for you to ‘lay’ on top of, as you raised your ass in the air. Matt lets out a small grunt as he strokes himself a few times, getting himself ready for you. He dragged his needy red tip through your soaked folds a few times, before beginning to dip himself into you. He grabbed your hips for stabilization, as he pushed himself further and further in.
You were harshly biting your lip the entire time, wanting to keep quiet. You let out unstable, shaky breaths, as he continued to push in. Matt eventually stopped pushing in, when his pelvis hit your ass, and he began to slowly move, not waiting for you to tell him to.
“M-Matt, hurts-“ You gasp, but Matt tuts.
“Should’ve thought about that before you were acting like a fucking brat earlier, wanting to be fucked sooner.” Matt growled, his pace quickening. You continued letting whimpers flow out of your mouth, along with a few staggered moans here and there.
“H-harder-“ You beg, now getting unfamiliarly used to the feeling, wanting more.
“Such a fucking slut,” Matt groans, his pace no doubt quickening. “T-Taking my cock so, so well-“ He rasps, your eyes beginning to roll back into his head. Matt let out throaty moans as his hands continued to harshly grip the red flesh at your hips.
You let your hand trail down your own body, as you rubbed your hand against your clit, hoping for any more stimulation, that would bring you closer and closer to the edge, which it did. Your legs began to shake again, letting Matt know you were getting close to a release.
He pounded into you at a relentless speed, as you effortlessly try to mumble out that you have to cum.
“Me too, fuck, cum with me, princess.” Matt gasps, and you do as you were told, allowing yourself to let go all over his cock as you felt him shoot his own load into you, filling you up with warm white ribbons of cum.
He didn’t pull out, instead he laid down, pulling you on top of him, forcing you to cuddle with him, without a choice. You were both sweaty and sticky, and you felt grossed out at the thought Matt’s cum was leaking out of you right now, but you know he wouldn’t let you leave, even if you begged to.
The more you thought about it, the weirder you had realized this day had become. It went from waking up next to your boyfriend, having a fun lazy day, finding out he is a fucking vampire, and having sex?
Not that you thought matt was unattractive at all in the past, but the whole vampire thing made him impossibly ten times hotter than what he previously was.

hits different
do you think i have forgotten... about you?
series masterlist | playlist | word count: 9.3k a/n: here it is! the finale of the "we're a bad idea" series. it's crazy to think that this series started on a complete whim and turned into this. i had so much fun writing this for you all and screaming about it with you and... gosh, just, thank you for all your support! I hope you all love this conclusion as much as I do. warnings: feminine reader, teammate's sister, age gap. smut! heavy handsy make out, oral (f receiving), protected penetrative sex. Disclaimer: Reading/creating content for married players isn’t for everyone. Please don’t read if you don’t vibe with it, but don’t attack me or others!
It felt like something out of a goddamn movie.
The way your eyes locked onto each other the very moment you settled next to Shannon at the altar. How the scent of the flowers that Emily had chosen for your bouquet suddenly became overwhelming. The feeling of heat that rushed through you – a heat that had nothing to do with the warm July afternoon and everything to do with the blue eyes that had captured you under their gaze.
Not the mention the film reel flashback that replayed in your head of those months when you allowed him into your bed and into your heart. And how he broke you into a million pieces and sent you running to Los Angeles to escape his hold on you.
Almost two years and three-thousand miles between you and him. You thought that would be enough.
But, even after all of that, it seems that you still couldn’t forget Matt Martin.
And based on the beating echoing through your ribcage, it was obvious that your wretched heart failed to remember how much it hurt whenever he was around.
The string music dancing on the breeze lifts to a crescendo and you almost scoff at the irony; like the universe itself was trying to arrange a reunion worthy of an Oscar-winning romance. Then you heart stutters when you see Matt lift from his seat, his eyes still locked on your frame and you fear that a love confession was about to fall from his lips.
Thankfully, that doesn’t happen. Instead, he turns from you, directing his gaze down the aisle.
The embarrassment rushes through your body and you have to shake your head at your dramatics; at the way you made yourself the main character in a moment that was anything but yours.
This was Scotty and Emily’s moment – their wedding, for Christs sake. Your eyes divert to the end of the aisle, watching as your soon to be sister-in-law walk to your brother, her stunning white dress flowing behind her. You sneak a glance at Scotty, watching his eyes water as Emily takes those final steps towards him. This was the reason you were here. Not Matt Martin.
Somehow, you manage to make it through the entire ceremony without looking out to the audience and those ocean blue eyes. When you walk back up the aisle for the recessional, your arm linked in Sebastian’s, your gaze locks with Matt’s once again before he disappears from your sight.
It’s a moment of reprieve as you sneak back into the cabin where you and the rest of the bridesmaids had spent the night, a deep breath lifting your chest.
You should’ve known he would be here. He was your brother’s teammate, a fact that you were all too aware of when this tryst began. Still, you hoped you wouldn’t have to face him. Not because you hated him or because you had moved on. But because there was still a part of you that craved him, that couldn’t let him go.
There was an ache in you and it felt like only he could heal it.
How? The answer to that question was still uncertain. You didn’t know if you needed him to apologize, or give you closure, or tell you everything you’ve always wanted him say. But you weren’t ready for it, whatever it was.
And when you walk into the reception area where the guests waited, your heart proves how unprepared you were based its reaction when your eyes find Matt. And the gymnastic routine it does when you realize that he was seated at your table, only a few spaces away from you.
Dinner is excruciating. It feels like a choreographed routine as you stop your head from drifting too far to the right to look in Matt’s direction, pretending that you don’t feel the weight of his stare, laser-focused on the toasts and your brother’s first dance. And when the dance floor opens and the mingling begins, the reason you fly from your chair was to greet other guests, performing your duty as a bridesmaid.
Not because you were desperate to delay the inevitable conversation you knew you had to have with the one man you had been avoiding.
Blissfully, a familiar voice calls to you from across the space and your eyes lock onto Mat Barzal, frantically waving at you from one of the other tables. You smile, walking over to him as he rises from his chair and hugs you, your name falling from his lips with that bright cheerfulness that you heard so frequently over Facetime calls and nights out in LA when the Islanders came to California.
“How are you doing, Barzy?” you ask, pulling away from the hug.
“Pretty good,” he replies, his hand falling to the shoulder of the pretty brunette occupying the seat next to him. “Have I introduced you to Lyla yet?”
“Well, you’ve talked about her enough that I feel like I’ve met her before,” you laugh as you steal Mat’s seat from him, holding out your hand before formally introducing yourself. “Good to officially meet the girl that stole this idiot’s heart.”
“Nice to finally meet you too,” Lyla says, taking your hand in hers. “Although, I will be honest, when I first saw your name on Mat’s phone and how many Facetime calls the two of you shared, I was a little concerned. Thought you were a long-distance girlfriend or something.”
“Completely understandable,” you laugh, admiring her candor. “But there’s nothing to worry about. He’s a little too sweet for me.”
“I’m standing right here,” Mat huffs and you look up at him with a smirk.
“It’s nothing you haven’t heard before.”
Your relationship with Mat Barzal was the one thing that had shifted in the years you were away but it definitely changed for the better. He had turned from a potential romantic partner to a true friend. That shift – one that was brought on after a night of too many French Blonde cocktails – lifted a weight off both of your shoulders and opened the door for an even deeper connection with star winger.
“I hear that I have you to thank for him asking me on a date,” Lyla says.
“I did nothing but push Mat to ask for the number of the pretty girl at the gym that he spent almost a half-an-hour raving about,” you laugh, loving the way both Lyla and Mat’s cheeks flushed. “You had him whipped before he even knew your name.”
“Oh, trust me, I figured that out eventually,” Lyla jokes and you can’t help but scoot in, ready to hear all the embarrassing stories that Lyla was willing to share. And share she did. It seems like hours of laughter and conversation, Mat even dragging a chair over and joining in – although most of his comments are attempts to defend himself. Eventually, Lyla gets up to run to the ladies room, departing with a kiss on Mat’s cheek and you can’t stop the smile that appears when Mat’s eyes stay glued to her as she walks away.
“I like her,” you say, calling his attention back to you. “She’s way too good for the likes of you.”
“Oh, I know,” he laughs, taking your jest in stride before sipping his beer. You see his hazel eyes bounce across the room, pausing momentarily before they return to you. “Have you talked to him yet?”
A sigh rushes through you as you shake your head.
“I still can’t believe I told you about him.”
“You told me like… eight months ago. Besides, you can only blame yourself.”
“Hey, I can also blame copious amounts of alcohol.”
“Yeah, alcohol that loosened your tongue and sent his name falling out of your mouth,” Mat quips, his eyebrow raising. “Along with your dinner.”
“Please don’t remind me,” you say, your mind jumping back to the night in question.
It was November, when the Islanders played Los Angeles. You and Mat met up at a local bar – just the two of you and it was that night that your relationship changed completely. Because in your inebriated state, Matt Martin’s name slurred from your lips while Barzy was attempting to shove you into an Uber.
Despite facing the wrath of his coaches, Mat helped you back to your apartment and kept you company that night, his reasoning being that he wanted to make sure you were alright and a California road trip allowing him the time to do so. It was over greasy eggs and bacon that he asked why you said Marty’s name. And you told him.
You even told him about the night of the charity gala, emphasizing that you never meant to use him like that. And that the reason why you never took him up on his offer to be more than friends was because you didn’t want to use him more, keep giving him false hope.
The truth stung him for a few days but after giving him the time and space he needed, the honesty and clarity brought the two of you closer. Now, he was the only person in your life that knew the whole story of why you left Long Island. And, like the good friend he was, he kept your secret all that time.
“You know you’re going to have to speak to him at some point,” Mat prods.
“I know,” you quip, playfully rolling your eyes. “Doesn’t mean I can’t avoid him for a few more minutes.”
“You’ve been avoiding him for almost two years. Don’t know if a few minutes is going to help.”
“When did you get so wise?”
“You can thank Lyla for that,” he smiles and you watch his whole expression soften at the mere sound of her name.
“She makes you happy.”
The sentence is more statement than question. You were there on the other end of the line when he talked about the first time he saw her. You gave him pep-talks and advice on how to ask her out. You helped him plan dates and dinners. It was obvious that this girl was something special to him.
“Happier than I’ve been in a while.”
“Then why are you still sitting here talking to me?” you say. “Dance at a wedding with your girlfriend.”
“Alright, I will,” Mat laughs, standing. He doesn’t depart immediately, choosing instead to lean over to you with a serious look in hie eye. “But you have to promise me you’ll talk to Marty.”
Another sigh escapes you as you let your head turn to look at the reception hall, your eyes glancing off the crowd of guests before landing on Matt, leaning against the wall, talking to Cal and his wife. As if he can feel your eyes on him, his gaze drifts to you and you watch a myriad of emotions dance on his face, each so subtle and fleeting that you couldn’t even begin to decipher what he was thinking.
“He’s been asking about you, you know,” Mat’s voice sounds, pulling your attention back to him.
“He has?”
“Yeah. Asking me, Scotty, Emily, anyone really. How you’re doing, what you’re doing.”
“What have you told him?”
“Just surface level stuff: your job, your complaints about the weather and LA traffic, things like that. It seems like he wants to talk to you,” Mat says. “So, you should talk to him. If nothing else, you might at least get some closure.”
You exhale, you mid swirling with the information that Matt Martin was still thinking about you, maybe in the same way you were thinking about him. Your head was a mess of doubts and hopes and fears and longing and desires. You just breathe through it all, pulling Mat into another hug which he reciprocates.
“You’re a really good friend, you know that right?” you ask, your voice muffled by his tuxedo.
“So I’ve been told by this really cool Los Angeles girl who overthinks everything.”
You laugh as you let your arms fall, Mat shooting you that crooked smile before he is walking away. You see him intercept Lyla as she re-enters the reception area, taking her arm in his and pulling her to the dancefloor, the smile on her face brightening as Mat leans in and kisses her cheek.
There was a part of you that twinged at the sight. You knew it was jealousy – not the traditional jealousy but a different form. You weren’t angry that Mat found joy with someone that wasn’t you, but envious that he found someone, period.
Especially since you were unable to move on from the man you shared a scandalous but exhilarating few months with. The man you promised yourself you would forget.
But then you hear his voice sound from behind you and feel that exquisite ache that you had never been able to soothe throb in the center of your chest.
“Hey.”
You turn to see him standing behind you, his suit looking almost too perfect for his body, his hair tousled and falling over his forehead. You watch as his blue eyes rove over your face and you wonder what he’s thinking and if all the same emotions are flooding his system the way they were yours.
“Hi,” you whisper, cursing your voice for coming out sounding so timid, cursing yourself for still allowing Matt Martin to make you feel small. But instead of that cool smirk that used to always appear at the sound of your frailty, his face remains impassive, his eyes flicking down to the now vacant seat next to you.
“Could I sit?” he asks and your head spins, not only because of the gentleness of the question but the fact that he even asked at all. The Matt Martin you used to know would’ve sat down immediately, invading your space boldly and brazenly for no other reason than to get a rise out of you.
You nod, watching him settle down into the cushioned seat and take a sip from his whiskey glass, his eyes still on you. It takes an immense amount of effort to break your gaze as you reach for your own wine and letting the smooth oaked flavor dance over your tongue.
“How have you been?” Matt breaks the silence again and you know you hear a hesitance in his voice, like he is unsure if he should even be addressing you.
“I’ve been alright,” you reply, your own voice thick with trepidation. “You?”
“It’s been decent.”
“I’m sorry,” you say, and his eyebrows quirk up in curiosity at your words. “For your injury. The playoffs,” you elaborate. Your gaze stays locked on him, trying to understand the micro-expressions that pass over his face.
“Thank you,” he replies and you just nod, taking another sip of your wine. “Didn’t know if you were even watching.”
“Wanted to support my brother.”
“Right,” he sighs. “Of course.”
You hated this. Hated the weight that hung over the two of you like a lead curtain, making anything beyond small talk too difficult to say. You weren’t sure how to surmount this obstacle, not sure if it was even possible to overcome. But someone had to be brave and attempt that first step.
With a deep breath and another sip of liquid courage, you turn you attention back to Matt.
“Was there… something you wanted to ask me?” you question, the words as stilted and unclear as the intention behind them.
Matt looks at you, his blue eyes wide as he absorbs your words. It is a moment of stillness before he is finishing off his whiskey and setting the glass on the table, lifting himself out of his chair. Your heart flips in fear that you said the wrong thing, that you ruined the moment before it could even take shape but that concern is silenced when Matt stands in front of you, holding out his hand, his palm upturned.
“Dance with me?”
Of all the questions that you thought Matt Martin would confront you with, this was one that you were not prepared for. A sentiment that is echoed by a bewildered ‘what?’ falling from your lips.
“Will you dance with me?” Matt reiterates, the request turning into a genuine question. Would you let him take you out onto the dance floor and into his arms again?
Your eyes rove from his face to his hand, still outstretched. The hesitance lingers in you reflected by the way you lift your own hand, your fingers curling back in a moment of uncertainty before you allow them to touch his. They glide against his calloused skin, wrapping around his palm, his own fingers winding around your hand.
Another glance up at him shows you the slightest smile playing at his lips. But it isn’t twinged with the familiar undercurrent of cruelty or power. Instead, it looks like relief.
He gently tugs you upright before leading you to the dancefloor, the refrain of a slow melody encompassing you moments before Matt’s arms do the same. He adjusts the grip on your hand while the other finds a respectful place on the small of your back. You let your own free hand lift and rest delicately on his bicep as the two of you begin to sway.
The silence between you remains even as the music rises and falls. You still avoid looking in Matt’s eyes, content to stare at the hardwood floor even though you can feel the weight of his gaze. In the back of your mind, you knew that if your eyes locked with his, you wouldn’t be able to keep your composure. That possibility was to be avoided at all costs. You couldn’t let Matt Martin regain the control over you that he used to have.
“You look beautiful.”
Those three muttered words, the compassion behind them, makes your resolve crumble, your eyes darting up to meet with his.
“Thank you,” you say, your voice breathless – the exact opposite of the curtness you wanted your tone to convey. But perhaps it wasn’t your choice to soften your words. Maybe it was subconscious, based on the way that Matt held you, the way he spoke to you, the way he looked at you. It felt different.
He was different.
“I missed you,” he whispers; the first real confession of the night.
“Matt,” you sigh, the cynic jumping out to protect your heart – the one that he shattered.
“I know,” he says. “I know what you’re going to say.”
“How can you?” you challenge him, the small flame of anger that you held flickering in your chest.
“You’re right. I have no idea what you were about to say. But I can make a guess.”
His words extinguish that resentment as soon as it appears, your eyebrow raising in surprise – not only towards his words but in his concession to you, he deference of power, the pendulum swinging in your favor. Your silence allows him to continue.
“I know I haven’t given you any reason to trust me,” he begins. “For you to believe anything I say is the truth. But I guess… I’m just wondering if you would give me a chance. Let me prove it to you.”
“Prove what to me?”
“How much I missed you. How much I care about you.”
He pulls your closer to him and you allow it. You let him hold you tighter until your chests press together, the smell of his all too familiar cologne flooding your senses. You swear you forget how to breathe when you feel his hand trace up your arm before resting against your jawline. The gentle press of his fingers guides you to look up at him, his thumb caressing your cheek.
“Let me prove that I was an idiot for ever letting you go.”
You can feel the tears prick the corner of your eyes and you know Matt can see them, watching as they well up on your lower lashes. His words seemed so sweet, so genuine, and you so desperately wanted to believe them. But there was still that voice in the back of your mind screaming, ‘this is what he does; he’s an expert at speaking these saccharine words but you know they’re never fulfilling.’
But here, now, he was promising to prove it to you.
The words of acceptance are dancing up your throat, hanging on the tip of your tongue and at the edge of your lips. But before you can speak them into existence, the universe silences you once again.
“Alright everyone, please clear the dance floor and let the bride and groom have one private last dance. Make your way to the front entrance and get ready to send them off in style!”
The MC’s voice booms from the speaker, pulling your attention and your body away from the gentle hold of Matt. The uncertainty and distrust take advantage of the interruption to reassert itself in your mind.
‘This was a sign,’ it said. ‘The universe is protecting you from getting your heart broken again.’
But when you look back, your eyes connecting to Matt’s once more and you still see nothing but yearning on his face, you feel your own longing surge again.
“Meet me by the fountain when this is all over?” you ask.
“I’ll be there.”
This time, you really do believe him.
You meet with the rest of the bridesmaids and hand out the silver streamers. You are blessed with an immense amount of coordination and impeccable timing as the streamers pop right as Scotty and Emily make their way through the crowd and hop in the car, already packed with their suitcases and honeymoon plane tickets. It is another few moments of clean up and meeting with the wedding coordinator before you are able to run back to the cabin where you and the other bridesmaids stayed for the past two days. You grab your overnight duffle bag, slinging it over your shoulder before making your way through the country club and out to the garden near the front entrance.
The two aspects of your personality were still at war with each other as you entered the terrace. Part of you prayed that Matt would keep his word and be there, just like he said. The other part prepared itself for the possibility that this was all just a cruel joke, an elaborate attempt for him to keep his hooks in you.
But when you walk out and see Matt standing next to the stone fountain, his profile illuminated by the garden lights, your desire once again silences the doubt in your mind.
You wanted to trust him. Sure, you might get hurt. But you could also heal.
That hope was worth the risk.
Matt hears your heels clacking against the pavement and turns to face you, his lips curling in a gentle smile at your approach.
“You’re here,” you say, breathless, as if your brain still didn’t trust that this wasn’t all a dream.
“I told you I would be,” he replies, holding out his hand to you again, another offering for you to accept or reject. This time, your hand slides easily into his, your fingers intertwining.
There is a pause, as if neither of you expected to be in this situation. Now that you were, you were both unsure what to do next. The uncertainty sinks into you, your voice breaking the silence in an attempt to continue the moment.
“I was planning on getting a room at the hotel airport,” you explain. “If you want to join me.”
You swear you see a flash of surprise cross Matt’s face at your suggestion before softening, a look of gentle exasperation painted on his features.
“Is that how you think I’m going to make it up to you?” he asks. His tone isn’t frustrated or offended. Instead, it’s curious, like he truly wonders if that’s what you thought of him. Or if that’s what you needed from him.
The ache that rushes through your body, reminiscent of the desire you always felt towards him but multiplied tenfold, gives you your answer. The months you spent denying your hunger for him, the ways you explained away the pain of losing him as something akin to withdrawal, how you used those brief moments of happiness to justify your choice to leave, keeping you handcuffed to the idea that you would be better off without him… they all melted away.
You wanted him. You’ve always wanted him.
You step forward, pressing your body close as you look into those eyes that haunted your dreams.
“It’s how I want you to,” you whisper, the response to his question cutting through the night air.
There is no clear indication on who moved first but you find it doesn’t matter when you feel the press of Matt’s lips against yours. This kiss itself is delicate, as if he was careful not to cross any line, any boundary that you wanted to place. But you had no sense of restraint.
Your desire surged forward, free from the cage that you kept it locked in. You release your grip on his hand and your duffle bag, your free hands flying up to his hair, tangling in the silky locks as your body presses impossibly closer. Matt takes your desperation in stride, his own arms wrapping around you, holding you steady. Your tongue presses against the seam of his lips, silently begging for access which he gives. A whimper escapes your throat, the taste of him on your tongue only increasing your craving. You can feel Matt’s grip tighten in response to your sounds, his fingers crumpling the silk fabric of your dress as he swallows every desperate noise that he pulls from you.
Somehow, the kisses slow until your lips are falling away from each other. Matt keeps you near, your forehead pressed against his, the warmth of his breath fanning across your cheekbones.
“Let me take you home,” he murmurs and you don’t even think twice before your head is nodding in agreement.
The car ride back to his place feels both familiar and foreign. The air between you is still thick with need but those powerful emotions are lightened by the feeling of Matt’s fingers intertwining with yours over the center console, the way his eyes dart over to you, looking at you as if he couldn’t believe this was real. You were sure that your face conveyed the same thought.
He pulls into the driveway, the porchlight gleaming like a beacon in the darkness, calling you back to him. His grip around you is firm as he walks you to the front door, escorting you across the threshold and your eyes take in the sight of a house that you felt you knew like the back of your hand. The pillows on his couch were different as was some of the art lining the walls but besides that, it looked exactly how it did the last time you were there.
You hear Matt kick off his shoes behind you and you aren’t sure if it’s habit or muscle memory that pulls you forward, your own heels tapping against the hardwood as you wander deeper, your body guiding you to the staircase. Your hand wraps around the wooden railing as you begin your ascent to the second floor. Matt is close behind you, his own steps slow and measured as he lets you guide him up the stairs and to the first door on your right.
The master bedroom is more of the same, the smallest and subtlest of changes catching your attention as you walk into the room. You can hear the small click of the door latch finding home echo and you turn to see Matt leaning against the doorframe, his eyes observing you in the low lamplight.
Your smile is all the encouragement he needs to push himself away from the door, crossing the distance stretched between you in only a few steps. His hand lifts to cup your face, your eyes locking with his before he is capturing your lips in another kiss.
In the safety and security of his bedroom, it seems as if both of your desires were unleashed with a vengeance. His hands pull you closer and your own scramble on his body, wanting to feel every inch of him, wanting to recommit his shape to memory. You are pressed against him, pushing him deeper into the room, your feet moving across the carpeted floor. He lets you manipulate him, walking backward and holding you against him as if he wanted no space to separate the two of you ever again, be it three-thousand miles or three inches.
It isn’t long until his body is falling to sit on the edge of his mattress, his thighs spreading to pull you between them. His desire to have you close is reciprocated, your body moving on its own accord. Your hand mindlessly reaches down to grip the fabric of your dress, pulling the midi hem higher to allow you to climb into his lap without hinderance, your legs straddling his waist.
Matt’s hands grip you tighter, pulling you close, the movement of his lips against yours never ceasing. Your own hands return to tangle in his hair, the taste of him more intoxicating than all the bottles and glasses of alcohol that you drank trying to forget him.
If possible, your desire ratchets up another level and your hands fall from his hair, tugging off his suit jacket. You blindly reach for his tie, undoing the knot as Matt’s hands wander all over your body, grabbing your ass, pulling your hips down to meet his. A moan rumbles from your chest as you feel the hardness of him pressed against you, your lips falling from Matt’s. He doesn’t seem affected, his own lips moving to kiss your neck, his hands still tracing your curves.
You are blind with lust as Matt’s head dips across your collarbones and the top of your decolletage and you let your instincts guide you, your fingers finding the buttons of his dress shirt. Each clasp is unfastened deftly and as soon as the shirt falls open, your hands sneak underneath the fabric, pressing against Matt’s warm skin. You can feel the strength of his chest, the movement of his muscles, and the pounding of his heart underneath your palms as they glide up, pushing the material off his broad shoulders. Matt’s hands only depart from your body momentarily to rid the shirt from his frame completely before he is pulling your lips to his again.
Your hands drift back down to his abdomen and you can feel his muscles clench in response to your gentle touch. It’s another generous roll of your hips against his before your fingertips find the button and zipper of his slacks. You blindly undo them just enough that you can slip your hand beneath both the waistband of his pants and boxer briefs.
“Fuck, sweetheart,” Matt groans against your skin as your hand wraps around his length. Another rush of heat flows through your body at hearing the familiar pet-name fall from his lips. Your own lips twist in a smile as you give him a few languid strokes, relishing in the way his moans vibrate against your skin – the way he weakens for you.
The need to make him unravel more takes over as you begin to pull away from him, your body scooting back in order to dismount and fall to your knees in front of him. But before you could even drop a single foot onto the carpeted floor, Matt’s hands hold you firm, halting your motions.
“No,” he whispers, pulling you back to him. “Not tonight.”
You stare at him, your eagerness to have him in your mouth mixing with the confusion of why he was preventing you from doing just that. The immediate response he gives you is another kiss, his hand returning to rest against your jaw. When he does pull away, you hear his sultry timbre echo around the room.
“I should be the one on my knees worshipping you, not the other way around.”
His declaration burns through you, igniting a need that had been left untapped for years.
You were used to submitting to Matt Martin. You thought that you loved it. But now, here he was ready to bow to you and your desires and your will. That thought alone made a fire pool in your lower stomach, your lips pressing against his again.
His hands tighten against your skin, securing his grip on you as he lifts himself from the bed with you in his arms. The sensation of the smooth sheets pressing against your back is almost instantaneous, Matt’s lips falling from yours to retrace their previous pathway along your jaw, down the column of your throat and across your collarbones. You are about to lift yourself upright to pull the material of your dress away from your frame but Matt’s arms keep you pinned against the mattress. Instead, his hand simply tugs the fabric up, painstakingly exposing more of your skin to the cool air until the silk is bunched around your waist.
You feel Matt’s smile against your skin as his lips continue their descent, kisses placed against your stomach before he presses a whisper of one right above the edge of your panties.
“So fucking beautiful,” he whispers, his eyes darting up to look at you.
The only sound that your voice can manage is a whine but it’s enough for Matt, his elegant fingers hooking and twisting around your waistband. Your head falls back as you lift your hips to help him pull the soft cotton away. He tugs the material down your legs at a painstaking pace, lifting your feet to unhook the elastic from around your ankles.
You expect – no, you need him to return to the apex of your thighs. But you soon realize how much Matt meant it when he said he planned on worshipping you.
His hands guide your feet to rest on his muscular thighs as his finger unbuckle your shoe, sliding it off before repeating the action on the other side. He lifts your leg, your bare heel now resting on the back of his shoulder and you sigh when you feel his lips press against your calf. They linger as he makes his way back up your frame, a kiss pressed on your shin, your knee, your inner thigh.
It feels like reverence. It feels like devotion – to you, to the way you make him feel.
Your hand reaches down, tangling in his hair and gently tugging him closer to the place you needed him most. Matt lets you guide him and, after he brings both of your legs to rest on his shoulders, his arm wrapping around your waist, pinning your hips to the bed, he finally – finally – presses his mouth against your core.
A relieved sigh escapes your chest as Matt’s lips move, his tongue darting out to trace your folds. Your sighs turn to whimpers to moans as he continues his ministrations, remembering all the things that make your breathing hitch, your thighs shake. Remembering all the ways you come undone.
“Still so sweet,” he murmurs. “Still so desperate for me.”
He resumes his movements, winding you up in the most deliberate way. Your free hand twists into the sheets as he drags you closer to the edge, his tongue diving into your cunt before lifting to flick against your clit, the action causing your hips to jolt from beneath his strong arm. You swear that you are about to rip his sheets based on how tight you are holding them.
You’re too strung out to see Matt’s eyes lift, him noticing the death grip you have on the soft cotton covering the mattress. In your haze, you can feel the grip he has on your thigh loosen and depart but your mind doesn’t understand the reason until you feel his hand dancing across your fingers twisted in the sheets, silently coaxing you to release the fabric. You do and as soon as there is space, his fingers filling the gaps between yours, holding your hand tightly as his mouth continues to work its sinful magic against you.
Your orgasm hits you unexpectedly, your back arching off the bed as the tidal wave of pleasure crashes through your body, radiating from your stomach down to the tips of each limb. Your hand tightens around his so firmly that you believe you must be cutting off circulation. But Matt doesn’t seem to mind, squeezing your hand tighter in response. He moans against your core in response to the taste of your release flooding his tongue, the vibration sending another round of shudders down your spine.
The feeling of Matt’s mouth and hands leaving you ignites a new wave of desperation, one that is only partially satiated when he returns to hover over you, kissing you deeply. You moan into his mouth when you taste the tang of your own essence still coating his tongue.
“I can’t believe I forgot how good you were at that,” you exhale when your lips fall from his.
“I don’t think I’ll ever forget how gorgeous you look when you cum,” he murmurs, his head dipping down to your neck, his quiet assertation making you smile.
You let him press his lips against your throat, content to lay beneath him for the moment. But when you feel his hips roll against yours, his own hunger for you and your body not yet satisfied, another ache of need hits you. You pull his head back up to your face, capturing his lips in another feverish kiss.
Matt’s body hovers mere centimeters above yours, his hips pressed against you. The position makes it easy for you to hook your leg around him. Using what strength you had, you somehow manage to flip the two of you around, Matt’s back crashing onto the bed, your body now suspended above him.
You break the kiss, lifting yourself upright with a grin on your face as your hands trace over the ridges of his chest. His own hands dance up your thighs, sneaking beneath the hem of your dress to caress the soft skin around your hipbones. In the span of a breath, your fingers bunch the silken material of your gown, gathering it in your hands before you pull the fabric over your head.
The gentle sharp inhale of Matt’s breath as your body becomes entirely exposed to him is music to your ears. There is no stopping his hands as they continue to drift up your body, gliding over the curves of your hips and waist, dancing across your ribcage before coming to cup your breasts. He caresses the sensitive skin, his thumbs reaching to brush against your nipples causing your head to fall back, a soft plea for him to continue falling from your mouth. He listens, his fingers roving across your body, as if there was not an inch of skin that he wanted to leave untouched.
“Such a gorgeous perfect body,” he mutters, making the pool of desire within you fill again.
You lift your hips up only so far as to reach behind you, tugging at the fabric of his slacks and boxer briefs; a silent request. His hands fall from your body to pull the material down his legs and you feel him kick off the only remaining barriers between your bodies. You lean forward as you kiss him again, your hips sinking back down. A simultaneous moan escapes both of you as you grind against him, your arousal coating the soft skin of his shaft.
There is want and then there is pure unadulterated need and the latter is what takes a hold of you now. Your lips fall from his as you stretch your body forward, your arm reaching for the nightstand drawer, the place he used to – and now you hope still does – keep his condoms. Your progress is halted briefly by Matt’s head lifting to wrap his lips around your nipples, the action making another gasp sound your throat. You persevere, albeit somewhat distracted because of Matt’s ministrations, pulling open the drawer, relieved to see the box in the same place, thankful that not everything had changed.
But as you reach for one of the square packets, your eyes land on a stack of envelopes pushed against the other side and you swear you see your name scrawled across the white paper. You don’t have any time to linger on them as you feel Matt’s teeth gently nip at your skin, pulling your attention back to him.
“Please, darling, hurry up,” he implores, dark blue eyes looking up to you. “Need to get inside you.”
Who were you to deny him?
Your fingers grasp the foil, your body returning to its upright position above him. You rip open the packet, pulling the rubber from the confines and preparing it before you reach behind you, taking Matt in your hand. He throws his head back, his hair haloing around his face as you give him a few languid strokes before sliding the condom on.
There is no waiting, no more hesitation as you lift your hips up. Your free hand presses against the center of his chest for balance as you guide him to your entrance. You aren’t sure if it’s him or yourself you’re teasing when you slide the tip of him against your folds once, twice before you align yourself to him.
Your mouth falls open in a silent moan as you sink down, the stretch of him entering you delectably foreign and yet comfortingly familiar. Matt has a similar reaction to the sensation of your walls wrapping around him, his hands flying up to your hips, his grip tightening around you so much so that you swear you’re going to have bruises in the shape of his fingerprints the next morning.
“Fuck, darling,” he growls as your hips meet his, him bottoming out inside of you. “Still feel like fucking heaven around me.”
Your only response is a whimper as your eyes flutter shut, both of your hands now resting on his chest, using him for leverage as you begin to move. Matt guides the motion of your hips, helping you bounce on top of him, letting you grind against him, more sharp gasps falling from your lips as your clit rubs against the taut skin of his lower stomach.
“That’s it sweetheart,” he praises, fingers brushing against your skin as you ride him. “Take what you want from me. It’s yours to have.”
You whine, grinding your hips even deeper onto him, one of your hands lifting to tease your nipples. You missed this, the feeling of Matt hitting spots so deep in you, spots that no one else had been able to find before and since.
“God, I missed this,” Matt groans, echoing your thoughts, his eyes devouring your body. “Missed you.”
His words force you to open your eyelids and when your eyes lock, you almost cum simply from the way he is staring at you: like you were the most beautiful piece of artwork, like you were sculpted from the purest marble, crafted from the finest paints. Like you deserved to be hung in the Louvre.
“Matt,” you whine, his name falling from your lips in a plea as your movements falter against him.
“What is it, sweetheart?” he asks, his own voice strained and earnest. “What do you need?”
“Need you to fuck me.”
“Yeah?” he questions. But unlike the times before, he’s not asking in order to tease you, to be cruel, or to force you to beg him for a mere sliver of his attention. He is asking because he wants to hear you say it – wants to hear you confess that you’ve missed him and that you’ve been wanting him as much as he has been wanting you.
“Please,” you reply. “Please, I need it. I need you.”
Your words aren’t twinged with contempt, nor are they wretched from your mouth unwillingly. They fall from your lips because you mean them, because you want to beg for him – not the other way around.
A gasp is torn from your chest as Matt lifts himself up, his chest pressing against yours. His hands trace your spine, one burrowing into the hair at the nape of your neck, the other resting heavy on the small of your back. He pulls you to him, kissing you again and swallowing every noise that falls from your lips as he drags your hips into his.
You weren’t sure if it was because you were wound too tight or that you truly couldn’t comprehend what was happening because before you knew it, Matt had spun you around, flipping you once again so you were the one laying against the sheets. Your legs instinctively wrap around his hips and before you can moan at the feeling of him thrusting into you, your sounds are muffled by his lips again.
Matt eventually breaks away, one arm reaching back to grip your thigh, pulling one leg higher, the new angle causing every stroke of him to brush against that damnable spot that made you see stars. You cry out, your head collapsing against the bed, Matt’s name falling from your lips.
“Fuck, I missed this,” Matt mutters, keeping his steady pace as he watches your body respond to his movements. “Missed how beautiful you look underneath me. Missed this perfect fucking pussy. Fucking taking all of me like it’s made for me.”
His possessiveness makes you whimper, the high-pitched sound catching his ear.
“That right, baby?” he asks. “This cunt still mine, even after all this time?”
“Yes,” comes your reply, wrapped in a strangled moan. “I’m all yours. I’m still yours,” you gasp out, your hips desperately chasing his.
“And I’m all yours,” Matt replies, his head dropping down to kiss you again. “Let it out, sweetheart. Let me hear you.”
He doesn’t speed up, content to keep his languid pace, steadily driving you towards that cliff. The noises that escape you are incoherent, a jumbled mess of curses and pleas as your walls flutter desperately around him. It feels like the most deliberate and exquisite torture, a pleasure that you would welcome time and time again if he would let you.
“Come on, darling,” you hear Matt’s voice whisper in your ear. “Remind me how good it feels when that beautiful cunt cums around me.”
It is the quiet demand that has you falling off the edge, your muscles stiffening as your orgasm hits you. You can hear a faint growl rumble from Matt, murmured praise being spoken into your skin like a prayer as he fucks you through it, your legs trembling as they fall from him.
Matt’s movements finally increase in speed as he chases own climax, each move of his hips making you whimper. You tug his head to you, kissing him fiercely and swallowing his groans as he stills and you bask in the sensation of his cock pulsing inside of you.
Your labored breaths mingle as you stay wrapped up together, sweat drenched foreheads pressed against each other as you both collect yourself. Matt’s hand, the one that that had been gripping your thigh, lifts to brush your hair away from your forehead as his eyes appraise you. You can’t stop the way your eyes close as he leans in, kissing you once again, his tongue dipping into your open mouth and you whine as you feel him slowly pull out of you.
He places a gentle chaste kiss against your lips before lifting himself off you, walking around the bed. Your eyes track his movements, watching as he stops at the nightstand, the top drawer still open. There is a flicker of some emotion that crosses his face before he pushes the drawer closed before disappearing into the ensuite bathroom. You hear the water running before he returns, a warm damp washcloth in one hand and a t-shirt in the other.
Matt gently presses the washcloth against your skin, starting at your forehead and temples before descending until he reached the apex of your thighs, brushing away the lingering wetness of your release from your skin. He throws the towel into the hamper and holds out his hand, which you take. You let him lift your torso off the sheets as he hands you the t-shirt. He holds you steady while you slip the soft cotton over your head, the worn Maple Leaf emblem resting on your upper chest almost completely faded.
You collapse back against the sheets as Matt pulls on a pair of boxers before climbing next to you. His arms wrap around your body as he settles behind you, pulling your back close to his chest. Your own fingers lift to absentmindedly play with his as reality crashes back over you.
You aren’t sure what to say, if there even is anything to be said. You don’t want to ruin the golden halo of peace that surrounds the two of you but you knew you couldn’t just leave it like this. There were still too many questions unanswered, still too much uncertainty.
“What are you thinking about?” you hear Matt’s husky voice whisper from behind you. You sigh, wiggling in his grasp. He loosens his hold enough for you to spin and face him, his blue eyes soft as they take in the sight of you in his bed.
“A lot of things,” you answer, the response vague enough to let him decide whether to press on or to leave it at that. He decides to do the former.
“Like what?”
Your eyes lift to think, picturing the mess of thoughts in your head as you attempt to untangle each. The loose threads seem innumerable, too many to choose which was the most important to tug and which could be saved for a later moment. So, you just latch onto the first image that appears in your mind.
“Could I ask you a question?” you say, eyes connecting back to him.
“Of course.”
“When I was in your nightstand earlier,” you begin, carefully observing even the tiniest reactions that tug at Matt’s expression. “I saw a stack of envelopes and it looked like they had my name on them. What are they?”
There is a myriad of emotions that dance across Matt’s face, each more fleeting than the last before his features settle to what looks to you to be apathy or resignation. You feel your heart panic as his body turns away from, fearing that you spoke the wrong words – said the wrong thing. But it quiets when you watch him pull open the nightstand drawer, his hand reaching in. Your eyes follow his movements as he pulls out the stack of envelopes before spinning back to you.
“They’re for you,” he says, holding them out towards you. You take them from his hands, the bundle held tight by a rubber band. Your fingers flip through each of them, finding your name written on every single one. Your eyes dart from the paper back to him and you swear you see his cheeks tinge a lightish pink.
“My therapist suggested that I write you letters.”
“Your therapist?”
“Yeah. I started seeing him shortly after you left,” he explains, his hand reaching behind to awkwardly scratch at the nape of his neck. “Realized that there was a lot I needed to work on.”
“Why didn’t you send them?”
“I didn’t know your new address,” he tells you, the candor in his voice strengthening as he continues. “And I was too proud to ask. Besides, I wasn’t sure if you even wanted to hear from me. Thought you might throw them away if I did send them.”
You don’t respond, neither confirming or denying his assumption because in that moment, you weren’t certain what you would’ve done if a letter from him had appeared in your mailbox.
“What’s in them?” you ask, choosing to revert to a safer statement.
“Things I wanted to say to you. Things I never said to you when you needed to hear them. Everything I wanted to tell you but never got the chance to.”
There is a silence as you take in his declaration, your curiosity piquing as your fingers trace the edges of the envelopes. There is a desire to read them but also a fear, unsure if the contents would contain blame or apologies or gaslighting or regret.
“You don’t have to read them now,” Matt speaks again, his voice drawing your attention back to him. “You don’t have to read them at all if you don’t want to. They’re yours to do whatever you please.”
Something inside you tells you that it’s dangerous; that it’s a bad idea to open them. To trace over the words and strong emotions that forced him to put pen to paper. To allow Matt Martin back into the heart that you’ve spent years repairing. But when you feel his hand trace down the side of your face, his fingers twirling a strand of your hair, you realize that that line had already been blurred beyond recognition.
You didn’t know what a bad idea was when Matt was around. You had already done so many things that you shouldn’t have with him. What was one more bad idea compared to the thousands you acted on before?
What was this bad idea in comparison to one that brought you to Matt Martin’s bed in the first place?
Your mind swirls with all the drastic changes you had experienced in such a short amount of time. How different the world felt right now versus a few hours ago. How different the man sitting next to you was from the man you left in a Long Island bar two years ago. You felt as if you lived twenty lifetimes since you woke up. The past, the present, and every possible future tangled together in your mind, an amalgamation of all that had happened and all that could happen.
But you didn’t want to think about that right now. All you wanted to do was sink into Matt Martin’s arms and hold him close.
So, that’s exactly what you did.
You gently turn away from Matt, reaching up to place the stack of envelopes on top of the neighboring nightstand. There was still uncertainty whether you would read them, but the action of keeping them meant that you would consider it. And when you face Matt again, it seems that – for him – that was enough. This time, it is you who reaches out to intertwine your hand with his, scooting closer to him. He follows your lead, his body sinking into the mattress until you are pressed together, side by side. Your head comes to rest on chest, your eyes closing, the sound of his strong heartbeat echoing in your ear.
Right before sleep overtakes you, you manage to whisper to him the truth that your heart sang out, the sentence that you realized you couldn’t deny even after months of trying to do just that.
“I missed you too.”
The last thing you register is a soft kiss pressed onto the crown of your head, and encompassed in Matt’s warm embrace, you let the feeling of peace wash over you.
… but it’s gonna be alright. I did my time…
a/n 2.0: I did decide to leave it a little open ended because i just liked the feeling of it better. but if you want to know how what i think happens after this, i will direct you to this mashup

movie night with the avengers
pairing avengers x reader
warnings: none!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
" UH.. THE MICROWAVE IS ON FIRE"
I turn around and to my surprise Peter has set the microwave on fire. Steve quickly grabs the extinguisher and puts it out.
"Peter, you know you're not supposed to use kitchen appliances unsupervised" I say jokingly and he gives me the finger in response.
"STEVE DID YOU SEE THAT?! SPIDERBOY JUST SWORE AT ME." Steve just gives me a stern look that screams annoyance and walks out with his salad
"how are you an avenger, you can't even make popcorn without burning the compound down" O I tease peter.
"July 27th last sum-"
"LA LA LA LA LA" I cover my ears with my hands. a horrible day that was. the guys haven't stopped talking about it since. "truce?" I say to Peter with pleading eyes and he nods
"truce, if you agree to tell Mr. Stark that this was pietro's fault.." I put my hand out and we shook on it.
As Peter and I go into the movie room with a fresh bowl of unburnt popcorn that we made using an old popcorn maker I found, everyone looks up
"What took you guys so long?!" Clint snickers as he takes a handful of popcorn
"Oh you know us, always losing track of time by talking, Y/n is such a blabber mouth" I hold my hand over my heart as if deeply hurt.
"Totally off topic but we need a new microwave." I say to tony
"What did you guys do." He spat out, rolling his eyes
"WE.." I say using my hands to gesture between Peter and I "..didn't do anything!" and Peter adds on, "Pietro set the microwave on fire, he sped away before I could confront him."
Peter is a horrible liar.
"I know you're lying parker, your voice goes all high and squeaky when you lie. luckily for you i'm a billionaire, I can buy a new microwave. it's coming out of your allowance though."
"Mr Stark I don't have an allowance-" Peter looks perplexed
"Exactly." Tony says back.
We both placed the popcorn bowls on the table and took our places in our seats, "what're we watching tonight?" Kate asks with a mouthful of popcorn
"13 going on 30!" Bucky says and everyone looks at him with a raised eyebrow
"REALLY?!" Sam says, "Buck if I have to watch one more romcom with you.." Bucky just shrugs.
"I like that movie, Matt is kinda cute" Natasha says
"..He looks so much like Bruce it's uncanny" I say while raising an eyebrow at her.
"He’s a handsome fella" Bruce shrugs and everyone laughs at his quip
"I think we should watch The Truman Show" Loki voices and everyone comes to an agreement.
“I've always felt like him you know, like i'm in some sort of movie" I didn't mean to say that out loud but I did and everyone looked at me all weird..
"You're funny" Scott laughed a little. I brushed it off and settled into my seat as the movie started
"If I ever had a movie made after me i'd want that RDJ guy to play me" Tony said as everyone was looking at the movie, we all burst out laughing, "you're all so mean to me." Tony said with a frown.
we all watched the movie and had a good time.
