mercifulmemories:
Something about this place gave her the chills, if she was being honest. Any research she had done already said it was pretty spooky, and she figured there was more than what she knew, which was why she and Matt were there, scoping it out. It wasn’t that she didn’t believe in their work, because growing up in Russia, she knew there were plenty of bumps in the night that weren’t just the trains or airplanes going by. But she was skeptical because it had been a very long time since anything particularly happened to her.
Sometimes she wished she wasn’t the field producer, and spent more time in her office, however, she knew she’d miss being out, especially with the crew they were working with now. A good crew made it worth it.
“Maybe not every whisper.” She smirked slightly, uncapping her sharpie and making sure her tape was good to go. “No. I wouldn’t say it’s that bad, but it feels very familiar to a place I’ve been to before. It’s not comforting, if that’s what you mean.” Natasha knew he could almost hear her heart beat, and probably knew that she was maybe a bit hesitant to be there. The prisons always felt extra weird, like her hairs stood on end from the time they walked in the door, until they were driving away. This was no exception, though it was maybe more intense, knowing it was just the two of them, and no one else was going to provoke something.

He didn’t often let on when he knew someone with him was spooked, at least not obviously, though it being Natasha made him a little more concerned. She was one of the people that wasn’t easily frightened, and everything she said made it sound like she didn’t put a lot of stock into the stories - Tony liked to point out that ambiance and location did a lot to trick the mind into thinking something was scary, and Natasha had always appeared to agree with that. That didn’t stop certain things from getting to her, apparently, and he realized he hadn’t ever asked what she believed, just making assumptions based on what he’d heard.      Now, he was thinking maybe she believed in something. There was an energy in the building, he could tell that much almost right away. It wasn’t immediately the kind of electrical feeling that came from a haunting, not yet, but something was definitely odd. “I’ll keep that in mind. Only the good ones,” he promised, but even that was a tease, complete with a little smile for her. He didn’t want to freak her out, and since it was a big building and they had a lot of walking to do in order to check locations, he’d prefer to take it easy on her unless he heard something she really needed to know.      “Did you want to talk about the other place? The one this feels like? Or is that against the rules?” he asked, giving her the out if she didn’t want to talk about it by bringing up the psychic-rules and what was okay to tell him. As they walked, he put the hand that wasn’t settled at her elbow out, running it along walls occasionally or reaching out into space just to check.

Ghost Hunters
If you'd asked him before, Matt would have said that he wasn't sure what he thought of the idea of ghosts, but that he didn't think they were real. He was the kind of skeptic that considered ways to debunk any strange evidence, and he still feels that way. He just has other experiences to fall back on to fuel his belief. Raised Catholic, the question of religion and the afterlife was never really a question for him, but when something made its way into his apartment, he wasn't quite so sure. It was a during a bad period when he felt alone and depressed - weak - and he did everything he could to ignore and explain it away for as long as he could. Eventually, it became impossible to pretend that the whispers and scratches were in his head, and that's when he sought help from Foggy, who got in touch with a certain group. After they'd cleared the entity out of his apartment, he was shockingly offered a part time job - it became clear during the investigation that he had some ability to sense the supernatural. They called it psychic, but he knows better.

Matt's enhanced senses are the source of his 'psychic' ability. He's sensing changes in temperature, electrical frequency as 'static' in the air around him and sounds that other people can't seem to hear most of the time. These sounds range from bumping around, soft footsteps to voices, and sometimes full conversations, depending on the entity.
He still works as a lawyer during the day alongside his best friend, Foggy Nelson, in Nelson & Murdock. The ghost hunting is a side pursuit, and it's likely that the team is hoping that a lawyer will present some extra credibility to the investigations.
It's normal for Matt to go into a location during the day with a partner and a cameraman to walk the place and note anything of interest. He's never told anything about the case or the location in advance. Anywhere that he stops at is considered for the night lockdown, and he will often specifically point out anywhere that he gets a strong reaction from. He's rarely wrong.

Hooks
Home Owner. Your muse either owns, rents or works at whatever location the team is investigating.
Interview. Whether your muse is an expert in a field of interest, experienced something in the location or just knows the area really well, he could have some questions, or they could be present for the daytime walkthrough he does.
Ghost Hunter. He generally thinks anything he's invited to, be it a conference or convention, is a fun time, but he does not consider himself much of an expert in the field.
Fan. Anyone who's seen enough episodes of Paranormal PIs knows his face, and knows how creepily accurate he can be. He prefers asking the questions, but maybe it's his turn to answer a bunch of them instead.

@starsinshadows wanted ghost hunter au with Matt & Natasha
Having seen him on their adventures do his thing, Nat was skeptical for sure. Who wouldn’t be, with the things he seemed to just know or said he heard. She had to have a decent amount of skepticism in their field, especially as their on location producer. She helped keep everyone on task, as best she can. Today, she was teamed up with Matt, scoping out the building, to make sure they knew what they were getting into.
Being that he was blind, it was rare that they ever let him wander anywhere by himself, and that was mostly Nat’s rule. She didn’t want anyone getting hurt, or injured, so it was best as teams.
“Let me know when you hear something that sounds out of place or you feel something is wrong, okay?” She was sure he would anyways, but it was worth reminding him. Maybe it was slightly for herself too. Skeptical, yes, but totally non-believing? No. She knew better than that.

Skepticism was healthy, and Matt would be the first one to suggest it - he was also well-known for insisting that he was not psychic anytime anyone mentioned it, though he wasn't sure how much it actually did for his credibility. Natasha, for one, seemed torn between that skepticism of hers and a belief that she didn't seem to want to admit to, and Matt understood that struggle. He was a lawyer, and this side-venture (hobby? job?) notwithstanding, he was a man firmly grounded in facts.      The facts here, of course, were that he heard, felt and often smelled things that the rest of the team did not, and that this happened to also apply to the paranormal. He really wished it didn't, and more than that, Foggy wished it didn't, but this was how it was. Foggy was at least pleased that Natasha was wandering the supposedly haunted building with him, since the alternative was that Foggy himself had to, and he hated it. Foggy had experienced Matt's haunted apartment, and he hadn't liked it.      "Of course. You're the lucky wielder of the floor tape, so I'm obligated to report every whisper to you, aren't I?" he asked mildly, a note of teasing in there. Technically, that was their job on this walkthrough, for him to pinpoint hotspots and her to mark them (and keep him from tripping over anything or getting lost), but unlike Clint, Natasha didn't always seem to be having a good time with it all. It made him wonder what the story was with this place, since they didn't tell him in advance in some attempt at ensuring that they didn't pollute his 'psychic impressions', like he would hear or notice temperature changes differently if he knew there had been a murder there. "You seem a bit more on edge this time around, is it that bad?"
