1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55,89 ...... and so forth. Each number after the first two is a sum of the previous two numbers. * A Fibonacci Sequence. Which appears all around us in the natural world: the fruit sprouts of a pineapple, bracts on a pine cone, artichoke flowers (you know they are just buds, right? That’s a different post..). In 2016 The Museum of Science and Industry, Manchester, UK, crowdsourced citizen scientists to grow and count their sunflower seeds to prove the long held theory that sunflower seeds also show Fibonacci’s Famous Spiral. The date suggested that 20% of sunflowers grown did not, but showed variations and some, even more complex mathematical sequences (Like Fermat’s). * Did I lose you? Did you count?
