I think Al would prefer working with slightly older kids (10-11, as you said). That’s not to say he couldn’t work with younger kiddos, I think that’s just what he prefers. But I’m also biased because I think this guy is wonderful with kids, yet takes far less bs from adults. Also Matt is 100% roped into shenanigans and he is also unaware that said insanity is shown to children. Parents at this point should simply not question his methods—
okay but consider...consider,,, he teaches all the kiddos basic bat tricks when coaching baseball/softball. like as a reward for a good practice.
abso-fucking-lutely
I also can see Al really being into like basic magic and card tricks so like not only is he teaching bat tricks, he's just whipping out a deck of cards and going "Good game! wanna see something cool?" and blowing all of their little minds

Way Too Early NFL Predictions: 2019 Edition
We’ve still got a few months until the season officially kicks off with Chicago taking on Green Bay for the league’s 100th season, but it’s still fun to speculate what team will please and what team will disappoint. So, why don’t we take a look and see our division winners and wild cards? Of course, this is likely gonna be wrong in a couple months.
AFC East: New England (11-5)
The retirement of Rob Gronkowski certainly hurt the team’s offense a bit, but the Patriots are still the Patriots and for as long as the Belichick-Brady tandem remains in New England, they’re going to continue winning. It helps that the New York Jets are really the only threat to New England’s dominance. Buffalo and Miami are still the walking mediocrity that they have been for most of this decade.
Rest of Division:
New York Jets: 9-7
Miami Dolphins: 6-10
Buffalo Bills: 6-10
AFC North: Cleveland (12-4)
It’s amazing that just a few seasons ago, the Browns had joined the 2008 Detroit Lions as the only team in NFL history to go 0-16 and now, they look like Super Bowl contenders. Baker Mayfield is the savior this franchise has been searching for since Modell screwed the city over. Adding OBJ, Kareem Hunt, and Jarvis Landry only helped to make this offense even more terrifying, the defense is looking smooth as well. Pittsburgh is fading away fast, Baltimore is all defense, and as usual, Cincinnati is just bungling around. Cleveland will cruise their way to winning their first division title since 1989, back when they were in the AFC Central.
Rest of Division:
Baltimore Ravens: 10-6
Pittsburgh Steelers: 9-7
Cincinnati Bengals: 4-12
AFC West: Kansas City (12-4)
Perhaps this is just bias on my part, since Kansas City is my team, but despite the improvements of Denver and the Chargers, I'm not seeing them dethroning the Chiefs anytime soon. Considering what the reigning NFL MVP did to opposing defenses last season, I fail to see a reason why he won't do that this season. The uncertainty of Tyreek Hill playing has put a damper on the team's ambitions, but Travis Kelce is still an elite tight end, Damien Williams is a strong playmaker, Sammy Watkins is back and ready to play at elite levels, and rookie Mecole Hardman is bound to make an impact. Additions in Frank Clark and Tyrann Mathieu will make great strides on a struggling defense, though the loss of Justin Houston, Dee Ford, and Eric Berry certainly hurt. The team's offense will do more than enough to keep them on the top of the division.
Rest of Division:
Los Angeles Chargers: 11-5
Denver Broncos: 8-8
Oakland Raiders: 6-10
AFC South: Indianapolis (13-3)
In what could possibly be the toughest division in all of football, it's difficult choosing a favorite for the division crown. Marcus Mariota will do great things in Tennessee, Nick Foles and an amazing defense will help Jacksonville stay relevant, and you really can't count out J.J Watt and the Texans quite yet, though it's hard to vote against Andrew Luck, especially seeing how well he played last season. A strong offense will help Indianapolis cut through opposing defenses, though I'm imagining it'll be a very close race between the four teams. I'm excited to see what these teams will do in the season and I think it's safe to say all four teams are Super Bowl contenders at this point.
Rest of Division:
Jacksonville Jaguars: 11-5
Tennessee Titans: 10-6
Houston Texans: 10-6
AFC Wild Cards:
Los Angeles Chargers:
I don't like putting a division rival here, but the Chargers are too good to ignore. Philip Rivers is a fantastic QB and the Chargers defense will put many opposing QBs through hell, but I don't believe they've got enough in them to dethrone Kansas City quite yet. Though, their defense and strong offense will be enough to get them the fifth seed.
Jacksonville Jaguars:
The Jaguars have an elite defense and a good QB in Nick Foles, an elite running game and a strong passing game. With all of these qualities would make them a Super Bowl contender for sure, I'm just not too sure how Foles will fare with them. He's definitely an improvement over Bortles, but only time to tell how much damage he'll be able to do with them. Andrew Luck is arguably the best QB in the division and I don't believe the Jaguars defense will be able to stop him, but who knows?
NFC East: Dallas (12-4)
The Cowboys are a great team led by a great QB, defense, and elite playmakers in Amari Cooper and Ezekiel Elliott. The only real threat to the team are the Eagles, and that's only if Carson Wentz stays healthy. The Giants will continue to be a sentient derp for as long as Eli Manning is at the helm and the Redskins are probably the most dysfunctional team in all of NFL at the moment. Dallas should have a fairly easy ride to the division crown, though the rest of the NFC is slowly getting stronger, keeping them from having a better record.
Rest of Division:
Philadelphia Eagles: 11-5
New York Giants: 6-10
Washington Redskins: 3-13
NFC North: Chicago (12-4)
Though it's difficult to choose against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, the Bears defense will be more than enough to make opposing QBs shudder in fear, even the more elite QBs like Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, or Philip Rivers will have their days turned into living nightmares thanks to elite pass rushers like Khalil Mack. It feels strange saying this, but Chicago will be the kings of the NFC North for years to come thanks to their young QB in Mitch Trubisky and an elite defense, this team will eventually morph into the 1985 Bears that bullied opposing offenses as they cruised to their first Super Bowl victory.
Rest of Division:
Green Bay Packers: 11-5
Minnesota Vikings: 9-7
Detroit Lions: 6-10
NFC West: Los Angeles Rams (14-2)
The defending NFC champions aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Jared Goff is young and has plenty more years as an elite playmaker, as long as Todd Gurley remains healthy, their ground game will be hard to stop and will be fairly unpredictable, their defense is still one of the best in the game, though their division certainly improved. Seattle is still a difficult team to face thanks to Russell Wilson and San Francisco will be a team to watch for as long as Jimmy G. remains healthy. George Kittle will become the NFL's next Rob Gronkowski and will be a key playmaker for the 49ers, and though the Cardinals will likely miss the playoffs, they've improved slightly thanks to their first overall pick and Larry Fitzgerald is still a dangerous player to play against. Regardless, I fail to see any reason why the Rams won't take the division, and perhaps the conference, home again.
Rest of Division:
Seattle Seahawks: 11-5
San Francisco 49ers: 10-6
Arizona Cardinals: 5-11
NFC South: New Orleans (13-3)
Drew Brees is still an elite QB and the Saints still have one of the best offenses in the league, and for as long as the Super Bowl XLIV MVP is at the helm, they'll continue to bully opposing defenses. Their division rivals have done little to improve. If Cam Newton doesn't stay healthy, the Panthers will struggle mightily. Atlanta seems to be back to doing what they do best and as long as they stay mostly healthy, Matt Ryan and Julio Jones will cause a few issues for the Saints, but their defense will let them down, and the Buccaneers are still the Buccaneers. The Saints will be the class of the NFC South until Brees retires and that likely won't happen for a long time.
Rest of Division:
Atlanta Falcons: 11-5
Carolina Panthers: 7-9
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 5-11
NFC Wild Cards
Atlanta Falcons:
Though the Falcons were severely held back by numerous injuries on both sides of the ball, they're back and ready to kick some tail. Matt Ryan is still an elite QB and Julio Jones is still the best receiver in the league, well, maybe alongside Antonio Brown and Odell Beckham Jr. Though their defense will likely hold them back from being able to topple New Orleans, they have the blessing of playing in a fairly weak division. Their offense should be enough to win them the fifth seed before they ultimately choke in January.
Green Bay Packers:
Like I said earlier, it's difficult to choose against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, but it's unclear how first time head coach Matt LaFleur will do. With Rodgers at the helm, the offense should do some damage, but it's unclear how he'll work with his new head coach. It'll be a hard fight against Philadelphia and Seattle to win the final seed, but in the end, Aaron Rodgers and company will be enough to fight off their opponents for the final seed.
And with all this in mind, this wraps up my way too early NFL predictions. So, do you agree with my predictions or do you have other ideas? Who do you think will surprise and who do you think will disappoint? Let me know your thoughts down below. Thanks for reading the ramblings of a random moth.

With a foundation in Mahomes, the Chiefs built a team for the Super Bowl
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The team that would eventually take the Kansas City Chiefs back to the Super Bowl for the first time in 50 years was under construction long before general manager Brett Veach and coach Andy Reid finally laid the cornerstone.
Patrick Mahomes simply allowed them to erect the walls faster and higher than anyone thought possible.
The story of how the Chiefs were built doesn’t begin or end with the record-setting quarterback, but everything certainly revolves around him.

The reigning league MVP’s uncanny ability to make every throw imaginable, his competitive drive and willingness to tuck and run, and his leadership in the locker room have all been instrumental in helping the Chiefs advance to the championship game against the San Francisco 49ers next weekend.
“People thought I was crazy back at the combine, before he took a start, when I said he is the best player I’ve ever seen,” Veach said.
“He is the best player in the game. I think that’s not just me saying it now, it’s the whole league. He is the best player in the game so whatever he does, it doesn’t really surprise you. He is that good.”
Even though he missed most of three games because of a knee injury, and was hobbled in a handful of others with a sore ankle, the star quarterback still threw for more than 4,000 yards with 26 touchdown passes and only five interceptions.
His value doesn’t end there, either.
Mahomes remains on his rookie contract — at least for now — and that allowed the Chiefs the financial flexibility to rebuild an inept defense into one that was among the NFL’s best late in the season.
The Chiefs knew after they failed to stop the New England Patriots in overtime in last year’s AFC championship game that they needed to make changes, and coach Andy Reid made the difficult decision to relieve Bob Sutton of his duties as their defensive coordinator.
He brought in Steve Spagnuolo, who in turn implemented an aggressive 4-3 defense, and Veach did his part by overhauling the personnel on that side of the ball to better fit the new scheme.
There were pieces already in place thanks to a couple of successful drafts, including Pro Bowl defensive tackle Chris Jones, and a couple of free-agent signings last year helped the linebacker group.
But it was Veach’s pursuit of defensive end Frank Clark and safety Tyrann Mathieu that ultimately put the Chiefs defense over the top.

The Chiefs traded a load of draft picks to Seattle for Clark, then gave him a massive $105.5 million contract, and he lived up to the investment by giving them a fearsome pass rush.
Mathieu arrived in free agency thanks to a $42 million deal, and he not only brought play-making ability to the back of the defense but an unmistakable swagger to the whole team.
“Last year when the season ended, we knew we had work to do. We put a plan together,” Veach said. “We believed in the guys we went after. We knew we had to field a defense to complement our offense and we did that.”
Those were the big names that shored up the defense, but other pieces came along, too.
The Chiefs brought in veteran cornerback Bashaud Breeland and linebacker Damien Wilson, and they drafted safety Juan Thornhill and defensive tackle Khalen Saunders, and all four of them have played an integral role this season.
“Spags has done a great job with that group,” Reid said. “He has guys with him on the defensive side that he was familiar with. He’ll be the first to tell you, that is such a big part of it. He didn’t have to teach the coaches — the coaches just hit the ground running and already knew what was expected of them.
“So the players go, ‘Man, all these guys believe this, they can teach it, they’re all tied in.’ With that, there was a confidence that was built in. Even when things start off slow, the guys are going, ‘We’re this close to turning things around again to the way we want it.’ And they just keep at it.”
While the Chiefs overhauled their defense from last season, the offense merely needed a few finishing touches.
They had added wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Demarcus Robinson along with tight end Travis Kelce through the draft, and they had added running back Damien Williams and wide receiver Sammy Watkins through free agency in previous years.

The offensive line returned from last season largely intact, and the Chiefs merely added a couple of reinforcements — Stefan Wisniewski even worked his way into the starting lineup, proving to be much more than just a depth piece.
They also added wide receiver Mecole Hardman, who was voted to the Pro Bowl as a return specialist, along with running back Darwin Thompson and offensive lineman Nick Allegretti through the draft. All have had a role this season.
Now, with a vastly improved defense to match the Chiefs’ already prolific offense, they have finally taken the franchise back to the Super Bowl for the first time since beating the Minnesota Vikings for their only championship in 1970.
“I think the mentality of these guys in the locker room is that we want to get the big one and not fall short,” Mahomes said. “We want to make sure that we’re going to the Super Bowl and we’re going to win it and not regret not preparing or doing whatever it takes to do that.
“I think with the guys in this locker room we’re going to take advantage of every day. It’s a long build over this next week and a half or whatever it is. We’re going to build every single day and just taking advantage of it and hopefully just getting there and playing our best football and getting a chance at winning it.”

Trade Targets – Part Two: Teams in cap hell
In part one of my trade targets series, I took a look at some teams that are currently heading towards the rebuilding process. This week, I’m looking at a handful of teams who are really tight up against the salary cap and could be forced to move on from some talented young players this summer.
Now, the fact that the Oilers are also up against the cap is a challenge and if they want to really make changes to their roster, they’ll have to send out some money in a separate deal. If they could do that without blowing away any assets, then they could be in a spot to take advantage of one of these teams:
WINNIPEG JETS
The Jets will have around $27 million to sign Kyle Connor, Patrik Laine, and Jacob Trouba. They’ll also have to replace Tyler Myers and Ben Chariot, who are heading for free agency. Brandon Tanev and Andrew Copp are valuable bottom six pieces that need new deals as well.
They have some pricey vets in Bryan Little (5 years at $5.29 million), Mathieu Perreault (2 years at $4.1 million), and Dmitry Kulikov (one year at $4.33 million). Kevin Cheveldayoff will no doubt try to unload two of those deals before he makes a big change to his core just for the sake of cap relief.
There have been plenty of rumours surrounding both of Jacob Trouba and Nik Ehlers as well. Trouba had a contract dispute with the Jets not too long ago, so I think there is a real chance he is dealt. I’ve also heard that he’s not interested in signing long-term in a Canadian market. Ehlers would be a great fit here and while part of me doubts that the Jets would part ways with a good, young winger, he does make $6 million dollars for the next six years and hasn’t scored a goal in over 20 playoff games. I could see the Jets wanting to shake things up after a disappointing playoff exit.
TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS
The Leafs are really strapped for cap space this summer and the threat of an offer sheet to Mitch Marner could have them wanting to clear out salary sooner rather than later.
They should have between $8-9 million to start the offseason and they have a long list of RFA’s aside from Marner, who should get more than $10 million. Andreas Johnson is fresh off scoring 20 goals in his rookie season and Kasperi Kapanen potted 20 himself. Both of those guys should fetch between $3-4 million.
They will also have to either sign or replace Ron Hainsey and Jake Gardiner who are both pending UFA’s. They need defenseman and it will cost some serious money to replace those two.
They have two bad contracts. The first is Patrick Marleau who has one more season at $6.25 million and Nikita Zaitsev who has five more years at $4.5 million. Even if they move both of those contracts, they’ll likely still need to move a young forward.
There was the rumoured Connor Brown for Matt Benning deal at the deadline. I wouldn’t be surprised if the two sides revisited that. Based on the fact that the Leafs need defenseman, I could see them being interested in one of Adam Larsson or Darnell Nurse. If that is the case, the Oilers would no doubt be able to bring back one of Andreas Johnsson, Kasperi Kapanen, or if the deal is bigger, maybe even William Nylander. These two teams appear to be a good match.
TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING
GM Julien Brisebois will have some hard work to do in his first full offseason as Lightning General Manager. He’ll have around $8-9 million to play with but most of that will evaporate with the signing of Brayden Point. On top of that, he has RFA’s Cedric Paquette and Adam Erne along and he has four defensemen that are pending UFA’s. There’s not a lot of money to replace the likes of Anton Stralman, Dan Girardi, Jan Ruuta, and Brayden Cobourn.
They do have Mikhail Sergachev and Eric Cernak who should be able to step up next season but both of those players are RFA’s after next season. Brisebois will have to keep that in his plans.
The really bad contract they’ll likely try to move is Ryan Callahan who has one more year at $5.8 million. Just based on the fact that deal is done after this year, they could probably move that out without much trouble.
I believe we’ll see them try to move out one of their forwards this summer. Tyler Johnson (five years at $5.0 million), Ondrej Palat (three years at $5.3 million), Alex Killorn (four years at $4.45 million), and JT Miller (four years at $5.25 million) are all candidates and are all players I think the Oilers should be interested in.
The issue is that all of those players but Miller have no-trade clauses. That probably means the Oilers would have trouble acquiring them. The Oilers would also have to clear out some money to make those deals work. But I think it’s worth a phone call. The Lightning have forwards to move and the Oilers need scoring.
VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS
After making the NHL’s expansion process seem like a joke, the Golden Knights suddenly find themselves in a tough situation with the salary cap. If the cap goes up $4 million, they will still just have $1.25 million in cap space and they only have one goalie, six defensemen, and ten forwards on their roster. They’ll need to add at least five contracts. They’re also facing an interesting situation with first-line centre William Karlsson who is coming off a down season, but still had 24 goals and 32 assists. He’ll command a minimum of $5.5 million. They’ll need to move some contracts.
I could see them looking to move on from someone like Reilly Smith, who have averaged just over 20 goals a season with the Knights but makes $5 million for the next three seasons. Cody Eakin and his $3.87 million cap hit. He would be interesting on the Oilers third line. He can kill penalties, give you reliable even strength minutes and he scored 22 goals last season. I really don’t like his cap hit, but it’s only for one year.
They could be forced to move a blueliner as well. On the left side, they have Shea Theodore, Brayden McNabb, Jon Merril, and newly signed college free agent Jimmy Schudt. They might move on from a veteran, but the Oilers have enough left-handed defensemen so I don’t think they’d be interested. On the right side, they have Nate Schmidt, Colin Miller, pending UFA Deryk Engelland, and Nick Holden. They could let Engelland walk, but they really like him in Vegas. Colin Miller would be a name for the Oilers to target. He’s 26-years-old, shoots right, and was anchoring a Golden Knights powerplay unit in the postseason. He was also healthy scratched at some points, so that leads me to believe the Knights would be open to moving him in a cap dump situation or for a young defenseman, maybe someone like Ethan Bear.
For the Oilers to make a splash on the trade market, they need to clear out some salary of their own. Whether it’s Sekera, Russell, or Lucic, they need to find some money.
Here’s a rough trade proposal: the Oilers send Kris Russell out in exchange for a mid-round draft pick and then flip Ethan Bear and that draft pick for Colin Miller. They’d get a younger right-shot defenseman who can chip in some offence and they’d save $125k against the cap. Vegas would get a draft pick, a young defenseman who could be a third pairing guy in the next 18 months and some salary relief. It might seem like the Oilers are giving up a lot here, but I think Miller would be a good upgrade to their blueline.

Robert stepped next to the door, he learned long ago, the hard way to knock before entering his parents’ bedroom…no need to explain he was simply kockin’ before enterin’ from now on
He knocked…no answer…he knock again a bit louder, still no answer 5 min more than enough for him, he opened the door, with a hand covering his innocent eyes, no noises or anything so he looks…his parents were sleeping next to each other on their big bed. He walked by their side and knowing how important is for dads is to sleep he do what any intelligent 10 year old would do
He steps in the other side of the room, then runs all the way to the bed, gives a double jump and falls right in between his dads, now very awake
Good mornin’, Buddy.-Alfred said fixing his neck, his soft mane of hair all messed up, wearing a nothing but his superman Boxers his tattoos with Robert baby face, and his military tattoos where like a pair of sleeves a light Shirt
GRRRR.-Matthieu grunted from the other side of the bed, he was not a morning person at all…not even now that he was a parent
Oh come on Mommy wake up! Alfred teased with kid-ish voice
GRRRRRRRRRRRRR.- Matt was not on mood for this, it was acceptable and even adorable when his baby call him that way, yet when Alfred does it I was not funny…it was annoying
Matthieu raised and His lover and son (barely) hold their laughs, his feather like hair was all over his face and it was like having a Persian cat on his head, Mattie cracked his back, wearing Alfred’s oversized sweater and a Boxer with maple leaves
Good morning! Sweetheart, how are you?-he asked after pulling all his hair back
I’m great. You guys remember what day it is, right?
Let me seeOh it’s the day your Father remembers to clean the garage? Matthieu asked
No! Is the day your “Mommy” does that thing with me…the one he does with no one else…when he opens his mouth and takes the full thing on?
ALFRED!!! Matthi thought he’ll die of blushing, and how his alfie could say those things in front of their baby
That’s right when he makes us pancakes with choco chips and ate like an anaconda eats a cat.-al said
No.- Robert said laughing.- is that time of the year again
Your father’s annual shower.- Matt teased annoyed
If you join me in…in fact let’s take a family shower.- Alfred proposed
No…Robert was having quite enough of this.- the day your sad lives turned good cause you found exactly what you needed…
The Toaster that also makes waffles.- the two joked
No, morons. My birthday, you so stupid.- Robert got enough
Oh well this morons, may not give ya your present you know ‘cause we’re so stupid.- Alfred said playing of course
Robert was allowed to said things like that from time to time, in his birthday more
No please, I’m sorry I swear
Fine now lil’ hero.- Alfred said
Happy birthday my baby…ten years already…oh my god you grew so fast.- Matt was simply moved
Happy ‘day son, Ten years you don’t reach there every day, at this speed soon you would not be my sidekick any more, but your own hero…Alfred added
Alfred analyzed his words, the last part was harder to said that expected…he was feeling old for his boy
So you want Birthday Breakfast, Champ-oo.- Matt asked
I want…but can I open my gift first?
Of course, buddy.- Al and Matthie said at the same time
Robert’s daddies take him to the garage; Alfred carried him on his back. Matthieu opened the door
Damn! This place is dirty as hell. Al said
Ha-ha, Alfie I never regret marrying you! Matt said with a smile thought his voice sound a bit like angry
Ok, cover your eyes Baby bear!
Yes Super daddy.- Robert said to Alfred, super dad was the nickname for Alfred
Fine open then now.- Matthieu said
NO WAY! A new Bike
Robert smiled in awe marveled by a new and hot bike of big boy, black with red and fluorescent green, for mountain track and it was all his
Yes, you see super papa convinced mo---I mean daddy that your ol’ bike was kinda small for a ten year old boy
Wow thanks dads
Yes, Robbie, but how is it said I French.- Matt asked
Ah oh ok…Oh Merci Papa, Merci Mama for…le Biciclette…
Fine then I guess.- Matthieu allowed
Yeah, Gotta go fast to brag with my friends
B-but were your protections, they are here! Look.- matt said pointing out a fine set of helmet and protections pads
Do I have?
Yes, you have
He’ll look like a nerd.- Alfred said and with Robbie they put puppy eyes
No, you have to
OK Daddy…
He put then on, they weren’t so bad, they got broken bones on them
He jumped on his bike go take a ride through the block
Fine, We’ll make ya some breakfast.- Alfred shout
Yay, Chocochips Pancakes and bacon.- Robb screamed in between laughs from distance

NFL Mock Draft
Pick 1 - Cleveland Browns select
Myles Garrett - Defensive End - Texas A&M
Whilst there is a massive quarterback hole within the Browns roster, however they would be imbecilic not to take Garret number 1. Garrett is undoubtedly the top prospect in the draft being a certified freak whilst simultaneously showing Hall of Fame potential; there he has been securing multiple humbling comparisons from Julius Peppers to a collaboration of Von Miller and Jadeveon Clowney. Looking at Myles Garrett’s tape, although there may be signs of laziness at times, he looks as if he is the best player on the field and can change the game at any point with his combination of size, speed, power, and technique. The Browns can’t afford to mess this pick up so anyone else but Garrett here would be shock.
Other options - NO ONE
Pick 2 - San Francisco 49ers select
Jamal Adams - Safety - LSU
There are many different directions that the 49ers could go with this pick; they could try to go for the home run hit by taking the powerhouse that is Leonard Fournette; solidify that defensive front by taking the versatile Solomon Thomas; or they could trade out of the pick giving the new 49ers GM, John Lynch, multiple first round picks in the future. Although the latter may make the most sense from a directional standpoint, I decided to give the 49ers Jamal Adams from LSU. Adams is a clean non-stop workhorse on the defensive end who will add a leader to that 49ers D; looking at the tape you can see that Adams has a genuine passion for the game and will risk it all to win a game which is exactly the kind of player this organization needs on the field and the locker room. I believe that Jamal Adams can have the same kind of impact that Landon Collins had with the Giants last year - Adams has also drawn other comparisons from ‘The Honey Badger’ Tyrann Mathieu and the future Hall of Famer Darren Woodson.
Other options - Leonard Fournette, Solomon Thomas
Pick 3 - Chicago Bears select
Solomon Thomas - Defensive End - Stanford
The Bears as a team have a lot of holes to fill so at this spot they should just go with whomever is the highest on their draft board, for me the highest person still available is Solomon Thomas. Thomas is an extremely versatile defender who can play anywhere along the front line to a high standard and never takes a play off. Thomas will add energy to this defense and is a player the fans of Chicago can get behind; he has been drawing comparisons from J.J. Watt to Justin Smith.
Other options - Marshon Lattimore, Jonathon Allen
Pick 4 - Jacksonville Jaguars select
Leonard Fournette - Running Back - LSU
The jags filled most of their defensive needs in free agency picking up such big name players as Barry Church, AJ Bouye, and Calais Campbell; combine this with young talent like Dante Fowler Jr and Jalen Ramsay this defense can be in the upper echelon for the next few years. However, by spending so much money on defense the Jaguars lost some of their key offensive lineman so this next selection might not be wise but the draft is about improving your team and by drafting Leonard Fournette this team becomes immediately more explosive, dangerous, and physical. Leonard is a force to be reckoned with and will be one of the premier backs in the NFL from day one. By drafting Fournette the opposing defense will stack the box more leaving, the mediocre, Blake Bortles with more open targets which will ultimately lead to more yard equaling more points; pair that with a premier defense then this Jacksonville will be scary team over the next few years. Fournette has earned such high class comparisons as Adrian Peterson, Jamal Lewis, and Bo Jackson.
Other options - O.J. Howard, Garret Bolles
Pick 5 - Tennessee Titans select
Marshon Lattimore - Cornerback - The Ohio State
The Titans have a major hole at corner and Lattimore is the best corner in the draft; simple as that. In spite of this, if Lattimore is not here when it sthere turn to pick than i expect the Titans to aggressively shop this pick and if they can’t do that then they will either fill the whole at wide receiver or just take the best player available. Lattimore has been compared to the shut down corner Vontae Davis.
Other options - Mike Williams, Solomon Thomas
Pick 6 - New York Jets select
O.J. Howard - Tight End - Alabama
Some have suggested that the Jets may take their “quarterback of the future” with this pick and while that still may be true everything that I have heard from players and coaches in interviews is that they have full confidence in Christian Hackenberg - plus with the addition of Josh McCown it looks as if the Jets aren’t looking for a QB; at least not at this pick. If Hackenbeg is the Jets quarterback then they need to fill as many weapons around him and the loss of Brandon Marshall does not help this fact. O.J. Howard is great replacement and a potent weapon for this offense, Howard is a big tight with incredible hands, great speed, and a love for blocking you normally don’t see in pass catching tight ends. Howard is also special in the fact he has a high floor and a high ceiling meaning as he grows and matures the Jets will still get great production out of him. Howard has been drawing comparisons of Tony Gonzales and Julius Thomas.
Other options - Mitchell Trubisky, Reuben Foster
Pick 7 - Los Angeles Chargers select
Malik Hooker - Safety - The Ohio State
The Chargers have one of the best top 10 draft pick team you will see, one of the only problems they have is in their secondary; this problem can be immediately solved by one player - Malik Hooker. A true center-fielder, when talking about football, Hooker presents awesome anticipation, great ball skills and just an overall natural ability to make any quarterback pay for their mistakes. This pick seems almost too perfect but this could lead the re-birth of this chargers organization in a new city. I believe Hooker has the ability to be the best player out of this class when its all said and done, so do other as he ha been drawing strong comparisons to the legendary Ed Reed, Earl Thomas, and Charles Woodson.
Other options - Christian McCaffrey, Reuben Foster
Pick 8 - Carolina Panthers select
John Ross - Wide Receiver - Washington
The first, and maybe only, shocker in this draft; the Panthers select the dynamic John Ross in the top 10. When you break Chris Johnson's famous “He ran what?” 40 yard dash time you are certain to turn heads and when you compare that with what you can see on tape then you have, maybe, the most explosive player in the entire draft. If you combine that explosiveness with Kelvin Benjamin and the former MVP Cam Newton’s incredible arm talent then that spells disaster for opposing secondaries especially for the already frugal secondaries of the NFC South teams, whilst almost simultaneously showing flashes of improving on the 2011 ‘dream team’ eagles. Ross has been given a very strong comparison to his training partner and pivotal member of that 2011 eagles team Deshaun Jackson.
Other options - Christian McCaffrey, Jonathon Allen
Pick 9 - Cincinnati Bengals select
Jonathan Allen - Defensive End - Alabama
Medical issues may cause the top 5 prospect to slide down draft boards but may be too good of a prospect for the Bengals to pass up on; Allen was the cornerstone for last years incredible Alabama defense and may be the most pro-ready defensive player in the whole draft. Where Allen may not jump of the page from an athletic standpoint but his technique is sound showing superior hand-grappling talents, he will also be the perfect compliment to Cincinnati star player Geno Atkins. Allen has a very similar style to the ever destructive Fletcher Cox.
Other options - Reuben Foster, Haason Reddick
Pick 10 - Buffalo Bills select
Mike Williams - Wide Receiver - Clemson
This is a combination that I have loved since this draft process began, the idea of having Sammy Watkins and Mike Williams on the same team should make every Bills fan excited, especially if the organisation want to help out young talent Cardale Jones or just give the underrated Tyrod Taylor more weapons to throw to. Williams was a stud in college dominating every team they played against, even the unforgiving Alabama defense, and being 6′4 with a 32 inch vertical jump proves he will continue to dominate in the pros. Furthermore without Williams Clemson would never have won the National Championship proving that he does not shy away from the big moments; Williams compares to another player not afraid of the big moments Plaxico Burress.
Other options - Marlon Humphrey, Deshaun Watson
Pick 11 - New Orleans Saints select
Marlon Humphrey - Cornerback - Alabama
The saints had the worst ranked passing defense in the League last year and desperately need a corner to help them. Humphrey is a very physical corner with all the athletic traits needed to be a premier lock-down player in this league. While the numbers may not be mesmerizing and whilst there may be strong concerns about his coverage, his talent alone will most likely get him drafted in the top-15. Humphrey has been compared to Jimmy Smith.
Other options - Derek Barnett, Adoree Jackson
Pick 12 - Cleveland Browns select
Mitchell Trubisky - Quarterback - UNC
There has been so much talk about the Browns trading up into the top 10 to draft Trubisky and even that they might take Trubisky with the number 1 pick. Whilst I am not the biggest fan of Mitchell Trubisky I do see why teams, such as the Browns, are so intrigued by his talents and as of writing this the Browns do not have a player who could be a variable stating quarterback so I also see the desire in getting your guy, nonetheless I still do not believe they will have to trade up to land him. Trubisky has been compared anywhere from Aaron Rodgers to Matt Leinart.
Other options - Reuben Foster, Deshaun Watson
Pick 13 - Arizona Cardinals select
Tre’davious White - Cornerback - LSU
This pick to me is basically adding fuel to already hot fire that is the already hot fire of the Arizona Cardinals secondary. White is solid is in every aspect of the game and would be a perfect compliment to the two other former LSU Tigers Patrick Peterson and Tyrann Mathieu, but don’t be surprised to see the cards go after Carson Palmer's successor here. White has drawn comparisons to Tracy Porter.
Other options - Corey Davis, Pat Mahomes II
Pick 14 - Philadelphia Eagles select
Christian McCaffrey - Running Back - Stanford
The Eagles main focus of this draft should be trying to provide their franchise QB, Carson Wentz, with as many weapons as possible; and with this pick they get the ultimate offensive weapon. Christian McCaffrey may be the most naturally gifted player in the draft as well as being the perfect back for this Eagles offense; McCaffrey lead his team in both rushing yards and receiving yards making him an every down back who can either catch passes in the backfield or be sent out wide in the slot and run routes. This versatility will greatly help Wentz improve whilst have a true ball carrier to take the pressure off Wentz if it is needed. The perfect comparison for McCaffrey is former Eagles stud Brian Westbrook.
Other options - Derek Barnett, Corey Davis
Pick 15 - Indianapolis Colts select
Forrest Lamp - Offensive Guard - Western Kentucky
There have been a lot of mock drafts giving the Colts an edge rusher here which to me doesn’t make sense: 1) This draft is very deep when it comes to defensive players whereas there is a drop-off when taking about the guards. 2) Andrew Luck is one of the best quarterbacks in the league...when he’s healthy, and to say healthy the Colts need to protect Luck with a good O-line something they have not done up to date. Lamp and be a good building block to go along with Ryan Kelly. Lamp has been compared to Dallas Cowboy guard Zack Martin.
Other options - Derek Barnett, Takk McKinley
Pick 16 - Baltimore Ravens select
Derek Barnett - Defensive End - Tennessee
To be honest, I would be very surprised to see Barnett fall this low, especially for a player being compared to Greg Hardy (on the field) as well as being the Tennessee Longhorns all-time sack leader. Barnett is a perfect fit for the Ravens and will immediately help a team whom is both 24th in sacks and rushing yards allowed per game. Some people are saying that Barnett is a better all-around player than Myles Garret and from looking at his tape I might have to agree.
Other options - Corey Davis, Reuben Foster
Pick 17 - Washington Redskins select
Dalvin Cook - Running Back - Florida State
Last year the Redskins had to watch as the Cowboys won the NFC East behind there rookie running back, that should mean that when the Redskins see the back that perfectly fits their scheme sitting their at 17 they have to take him. The Redskins were 21st in the league last year on rushing yards per game and Cook being the explosive player he is that number could easily rise next year to the top 10 in the league thanks to the Redskins O-line; plus with above average hands for a running back Cook will be able to be an ever down back for this team. Hamstring problems may have affected him last year but the Redskins should look passed when they see the potential he has especially when being compared to backs like Edgerrin James and Clinton Portis.
Other options - Takk McKinley, Reuben Foster
Pick 18 - Tennessee Titans select
Corey Davis - Wide Receiver - Western Michigan
Although at times he looked like the best wide receiver in the nation due to his small school status he fall of some teams draft bored allowing the Titans their new Number 1 receiver and Macus Mariota’s new favourite target. Davis showed excellent production and competitiveness coming out of Western Michigan and although he may have played for a lower tier school some scouts described his dominance as “a man among boys” which should mean that teams won’t be too worried about. Davis showed hands and route-running that should correlate well going into the next stage of his career whilst being a high tier route-runner. Davis could be looked over due his school but shouldn’t especially when he is being talked about as the second coming of T.O.
Other options - Adoree’ Jackson, Takk McKinley
Pick 19 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers select
David Njoku - Tight End - Miami
Now that Jameis Winston has proven to be a star player in this league the Buccaneers may want to put all their eggs in one basket and get him some weapons to play with. David Njoku maybe has the highest potential out of anybody in the first round, being only 20 years old he has already displayed elite athleticism and great catching talent with the ability to make a defender miss in the open field. Njoku would work wonders with Winston who is known for his love for a big play and David Njoku can definitely supply that. Njoku has been compared to Jimmy Graham, Jordan Reed, and Greg Olsen.
Other options - Jabrill Peppers, Alvin Kamara
Pick 20 - Denver Broncos select
Garett Bolles - Offensive Tackle - Utah
The Broncos are in the bottom 10 in the league in Rushing yards, yards per carry, and sacks which all translates to - the Broncos O-Line is trash. Though I may like the acquisition on Ron Leary from the Cowboys number 1 ranked O-line, one player doesn’t fix everything and Denver needs to take a lineman with this pick. Garett Bolles has the best feet in the draft and his technique is sound from being a work-up blocker to being noticing stunts. Bolles will help solidify the Broncos front for years to come.
Other options - Ryan Ramczyk, Cam Robinson
Pick 21 - Detroit Lions select
Reuben Foster - Linebacker - Alabama
The Lions lack any real leader from the line backer position, Reuben Foster is the perfect man to fill that hole; he was at the forefront of this strong Alabama defense a programme known for producing great linebackers. Compares to the Seahawks Bobby Wagner.
Other options - Taco Charlton, Charles Harris
Pick 22 - Miami Dolphins select
Taco Charlton - Defensive End - Michigan
As Cameron Wake is nearing the end of his career the Dolphins need to begin to find his successor; that could be Taco Charlton. Charlton is a rare combination of size, length and athleticism, he is a twitchy player with enough power to push back a lineman. The Dolphins would just be hoping not to have another Dion Jordan incident with this pick. Charlton compares to Aldon Smith.
Other options - Jabrill Peppers, T.J. Watt
Pick 23 - New York Giants select
Ryan Ramczyk - Offensive Tackle - Wiscoinsin
The Giants were one of the worst teams in the league in rushing and sacks allowed last season and while Eli Manning has a variety of weapons at his disposal if there is a hand in his face he is going to be less accurate. Ramczyk is an athletic tackle with who comes from a Wisconsin system famous for producing great O-line talent. Ramczyk compares to Joe Staley.
Other options - Cam Robinson, Joe Mixon
Pick 24 - Oakland Raiders select
Haason Reddick - Linebacker - Temple
Reddick is a versatile player with an amazing motor and would be a great partner to Khalil Mack and Bruce Irvin to expand on what is an already exciting defense to watch. Haason Reddick reminds me a lot of Ryan Shazier.
Other options - Jarrad Davis, Kevin King
Pick 25 - Houston Texans select
Patrick Mahomes II - Quarterback - Texas Tech
The Texans need a quarterback badly and I’ve heard that they are quite fond of gunslinger from Texas Tech. The best way to put it is that Mahomes has a cannon for an arm and Will Fuller is a shot of of that cannon add that with the already gifted play maker Deandre Hopkins, you have one exciting offense now in Houston, Texas.
Other options - Cam Robinson, Deshaun Watson
Pick 26 - Seattle Seahawks select
Obi Melifonwu - Safety - Conneticut
With it looking like Richard Sherman’s time in Seattle is coming to an end Melifonwu is the athletic freak of nature that Pete Carroll could groom to replace him or replace the man people say he most plays like, Kam Chancellor.
Other options - Cam Robinson, Kevin King
Pick 27 - Kansas City Chiefs Select
Deshaun Watson - Quarterback - Clemson
The Chiefs get the quarterback of the future. Watson is a great fit in this system and under the guidance of Andy Reid I believe this could be a beautiful marriage; furthermore I see Watson as a better Alex Smith due to him being an equally good passer with more mobility and knack for having his best performances in big games.
Other options - Gareon Conley, Alvin Kamara
Pick 28 - Dallas Cowboys select
Takkarist McKinley - Defensive End - UCLA
Whilst the Cowboys desperately need some secondary talent McKinley is too good of a player for the Cowboys to pass up on especially as he fills a hole in that defensive front and is the kind of “war daddy” that Jerry Jones asked for. Comparison for McKinley is Tamba Hali or potentially DeMarcus Ware.
Other options - Adoree’ Jackson, Charles Harris
Pick 29 - Green Bay Packers select
T.J. Watt - Outside Linebacker - Wisconsin
The Packers pick up the second coming of Clay Matthews with T.J. Watt who will give everything he possesses when he is on the field. Oh and coaching from big brother J.J. won’t hurt his case.
Other options - Joe Mixon, Jabrill Peppers
Pick 30 - Pittsburgh Steelers select
DeShone Kizer - Quarterback - Notre Dame
With Roethlisberger considering retirement this year the Steelers put all their chips in the hand of the strong armed, raw talent of DeShoen Kizer who people say comapres most to current Steelers QB Big Ben.
Other options - Adoree’ Jackson, Evan Engram
Pick 31 - Atlanta Falcons select
Jabrill Peppers - Linebacker/Safety - Michigan
Perhaps the biggest wild card of the first round Peppers is the most versatile player in the draft with an innate reaction to try and create something no-matter where he is on the field or what side of the ball he is on. Peppers would be a great fit with this young Falcons defense and could end up becoming their captain.
Other options - Evan Engram, Charles Harris
Pick 32 - New Orleans Saints select
Charles Harris - Outside Linebacker - Missouri
This Saints defense lacks energy and desire but with this guy that will never be a problem again. Charles Harris, A.K.A. Black Ice, exudes energy and is maybe on of the most clean pass rushers in this draft. He has been compared to Shane Ray.
Other options - Adoree’ Jackson, Jarrad Davis

Fox news Ideal top two 2020 NFL Draft picks for all 32 teams - NFL.com
Fox news
With the 2020 NFL Draft actual around the corner, teams are wrapping up their prospect opinions and running by cases that can perhaps perchance play out as soon as picks beginning being made on April 23. Now, even with absolute most sensible-laid plans, every so usually the board actual would not plunge a team's manner. However what if it did? NFL.com draft analysts Chad Reuter and Lance Zierlein are working in that downside as they name the supreme high two picks for every membership, with Reuter making the selections for NFC teams and Zierlein taking the AFC. They weak their very possess prospect rankings and review of team wishes as a e book. Mutter that some prospects are connected to a number of team -- here's no longer a mock draft, and players would possibly perhaps even be supreme matches for extra than one golf equipment.
To survey every capture every team holds in the 2020 NFL Draft, click on here.
AFC
BALTIMORE RAVENS
» Round 1: No. 28 total -- Patrick Queen, LB, LSU » Round 2: No. 55 (from Patriots by Falcons) -- John Simpson, OG, Clemson
With his athletic capability and toughness, Queen would be an supreme determination for the linebacker-needy Ravens within the main round. A hasten on receivers within the main 50 picks would possibly perhaps perchance pressure the Ravens to turn their consideration to guard, where Clemson's Simpson has the scale, strength and capability to help toughen that place after the retirement of Marshal Yanda.
BUFFALO BILLS
» Round 2: No. 54 total -- Noah Igbinoghene, CB, Auburn » Round 3: No. 86 -- Darrell Taylor, edge rusher, Tennessee
The addition of Josh Norman -- signed a one-twelve months deal final month -- offers the Payments an different to resolve and originate Igbinoghene. He's large, stable and explosive, nonetheless considerably raw along with his coverage methodology. Groups I've spoken with procure some concerns about Taylor, nonetheless skill is not any longer one of them. He's twitched-up with elope capacity ready to be unlocked.
CINCINNATI BENGALS
» Round 1: No. 1 total -- Joe Burrow, QB, LSU » Round 2: No. 33 -- Austin Jackson, OT, USC
Burrow is cemented into the pinnacle capture -- there would possibly perhaps be not any such thing as a manner the Bengals would tear in any various route lest they invite the wrath of their entire fan tainted. He's correct, appealing and has uncommon intangibles. I develop no longer survey a high linebacker falling to them at No. 33, nonetheless grabbing the extremely-athletic Jackson would provide the Bengals freedom to play final twelve months's first-rounder, Jonah Williams, at upright contend with, where he would possibly perhaps perchance very effectively be most fitted.
CLEVELAND BROWNS
» Round 1: No. 10 total -- Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia » Round 2: No. 41 -- Jalen Reagor, WR, TCU
Thomas is laborious-nosed, effectively-coached and is derived from a successful program. He's a football match, nonetheless additionally a convention match. With the 2nd-round capture, Reagor would no longer handiest infuse extra juice into the Browns offense as a three-stage target, he would possibly perhaps perchance additionally be Odell Beckham's successor if the Browns switch on from the instant skill and his hefty cap figure after subsequent season.
DENVER BRONCOS
» Round 1: No. 15 total -- Henry Ruggs III, WR, Alabama » Round 2: No. 46 -- Jeremy Chinn, S, Southern Illinois
Providing Drew Lock with a deep weapon like Ruggs would additionally aid Courtland Sutton and the speeding assault, as safeties would possibly perhaps be on discover all by the game. Kareem Jackson is a laborious-nosed safety who can toughen the hasten, nonetheless Chinn offers a younger possibility with aesthetic size, explosiveness and ball abilities, as well to somewhat of extra alignment versatility.
HOUSTON TEXANS
» Round 2: No. 40 total (from Cardinals) -- Jaylon Johnson, CB, Utah » Round 3: No. 90 -- Jordan Elliott, DT, Missouri
After dealing one of their 2nd-round picks for Brandin Cooks, the Texans can lock in on adding cornerback aid and re-stocking their line of defense. Johnson has the traits and balls abilities the Texans are buying for at cornerback. Elliott performs with factual toughness and disruption along the inner. He ought to serene aid comprise the outlet left by the departure of D.J. Reader in free company.
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
» Round 2: No. 34 total (from Redskins) -- Michael Pittman, WR, USC » Round 2: No. 44 -- Terrell Lewis, edge rusher, Alabama
Indianapolis would possibly perhaps perchance very effectively be ready so that you just can add a talented receiver like Pittman with "play now" skill and toughness. Lewis is a prolonged nonetheless unpolished rusher with some damage concerns to sift by, nonetheless Colts GM Chris Ballard likes the form of size and elope capacity that Lewis offers.
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
» Round 1: No. 9 total -- Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn » Round 1: No. 20 (from Rams) -- Zack Baun, LB, Wisconsin
The Jaguars would possibly perhaps perchance opt to restock the protection with their two first-round picks. Brown has some dominant moments on tape and would possibly perhaps perchance aid shore up the center of the D. Baun offers the flexibility to play off-ball linebacker on early downs while speeding off the edge on passing downs.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
» Round 1: No. 32 total -- Jeff Gladney, CB, TCU » Round 2: No. 63 (from 49ers) -- Matt Hennessy, OL, Temple
Gladney is a ballhawking cornerback with inner/beginning air versatility and a crawl that matches with Tyrann Mathieu's on the backend. While No. 63 would possibly perhaps perchance very effectively be somewhat of earlier than I could perhaps perchance resolve Hennessy, he has the physical attributes to verify fleet into a switch-oriented running game as a rookie starter on the inner.
LAS VEGAS RAIDERS
» Round 1: No. 12 total -- CJ Henderson, CB, Florida » Round 1: No. 19 (from Bears) -- Justin Jefferson, WR, LSU
I do know all americans wishes to drag in CeeDee Lamb or Jerry Jeudy with the 12th capture -- and so develop I. Nonetheless, a macro-see of the main round in conjunction with a peep on the Raiders' high wishes reveals an different to land the most athletic cornerback within the draft at No. 12 (he doubtlessly would possibly perhaps perchance honest no longer be accessible at No. 19) sooner than adding a receiver with excellent ball abilities and inner/beginning air alignment capacity with their 2nd first-rounder.
LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
» Round 1: No. 6 total -- Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon » Round 2: No. 37 -- Ezra Cleveland, OT, Boise Hiss
The Chargers are whisper to roll with Tyrod Taylor in 2020, so adding Justin Herbert and permitting him to be taught within the aid of the ragged is an optimum downside. They wishes so that you just would possibly perhaps resolve on a beginning-caliber contend with with their early-2nd-round capture, and Ezra Cleveland has been producing some buzz in that long-established space of the draft.
MIAMI DOLPHINS
» Round 1: No. 5 total -- Jedrick Wills, OT, Alabama » Round 1: No. 18 (from Steelers) -- A high quarterback
You would possibly perhaps must follow me on this one for a 2nd. The Dolphins procure deal of draft capital and unless they are entirely cosy with Tua Tagovailoa's medical downside, they would be effectively-served taking the right contend with within the draft at No. 5 sooner than using a few of that capial to jog aid up for Tua, Justin Herbert or Jordan Like, looking on how the board shakes out. If they are attempting to develop it the many manner around (selecting a QB first), there would possibly perhaps perchance no longer be very factual cost for his or her positions of want. Exhaust your picks to receive the right players.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
» Round 1: No. 23 total -- Yetur Infamous-Matos, edge rusher, Penn Hiss » Round 3: No. 87 -- Van Jefferson, WR, Florida
Invoice Belichick covets size and size along the edge from his defensive linemen and Infamous-Matos matches that mildew. He's an ascending skill with deal of capacity. Jefferson's father, Shawn, is a weak NFL huge receiver and the latest receivers coach for the Jets, so Van's elite route-running ought to serene near as no surprise and offers him a shot to change into Julian Edelman's eventual substitute.
NEW YORK JETS
» Round 1: No. 11 total -- Tristan Wirfs, OT, Iowa » Round 2: No. 48 -- Laviska Shenault Jr., WR, Colorado
It feels as though the Jets would possibly perhaps be locked in at contend with and big receiver with their first two picks. They procure to give Sam Darnold extra aid. If one of the most pinnacle four tackles gets to No. 11, the Jets would possibly perhaps be laborious-pressed to drag on him. Shenault is a high-upside skill with large size who has dropped somewhat of in consequence of a core muscle damage that required surgical procedure this offseason. He offers uncommon versatility for Adam Gase's offense, though.
PITTSBURGH STEELERS
» Round 2: No. 49 total -- Cam Akers, RB, Florida Hiss » Round 3: No. 102 -- Bryan Edwards, WR, South Carolina
Akers is a collected, three-down possibility who can near in and resolve on on beginning carries upright away to help diversify the Steelers' offensive assault. Edwards is recuperating from the broken foot he suffered while training for the NFL Scouting Combine, nonetheless has the scale and toughness for contested catches underneath and the hasten to assault defenses down the field.
TENNESSEE TITANS
» Round 1: No. 29 total -- Ross Blacklock, DL, TCU » Round 2: No. 61 -- Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU
The Titans want a upright contend with, nonetheless the board would possibly perhaps perchance dictate they add an upfield, interior defensive lineman to change the departed Jurrell Casey. Fulton would possibly perhaps perchance near in and add immediate competitors at cornerback, which is one thing the Titans would possibly perhaps perchance use in this draft.
NFC
ARIZONA CARDINALS
» Round 1: No. 8 total -- Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia » Round 3: No. 72 -- Zack Moss, RB, Utah
Re-signing weak first-round capture D.J. Humphries secured the left contend with sigh for the Cardinals. Deciding on Thomas (or Iowa's Tristan Wirfs if he's accessible) offers Kyler Murray a worthy stable-facet bookend, because the weak Georgia Bulldog conducted upright contend with his actual freshman season. With their 2nd-round capture dealt away within the DeAndre Hopkins change, the Playing cards will must aid till the third round to bear their subsequent determination. Live up for them to perchance resolve a energy aid like Moss to complement the transition tagged Kenyan Drake.
ATLANTA FALCONS
» Round 1: No. 16 total -- Ample'Lavon Chaisson, edge rusher, LSU » Round 2: No. 47 -- Marlon Davidson, DT, Auburn
I search recordsdata from Atlanta to verify out and change up for one of the most pinnacle defensive tackles or athletic linebacker Isaiah Simmons. Barring either of those outcomes, on the opposite hand, I believe GM Thomas Dimitroff would possibly perhaps be in securing Chaisson, a bendy nonetheless stressful edge player worthy of a mid-first-round determination. Davidson is a attractive prospect due to the he spent replacement time on the edge at Auburn nonetheless obtained vital weight after the 2019 season to shift to a three-methodology sigh. Groups using three-man fronts would possibly perhaps perchance serene resolve into story him a 5-methodology prospect, nonetheless I survey the Falcons using him as an explosive interior possibility.
CAROLINA PANTHERS
» Round 1: No. 7 total -- Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn » Round 2: No. 38 -- Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU
If Jeff Odukah is on the board when the Panthers capture out at seventh total, he wishes to be the capture. However assuming the pinnacle corner is not any longer accessible, Carolina fills in large gaps on the line of defense brought about by the departures of free brokers Gerald McCoy and Dontari Poe. Whether it be Brown or weak South Carolina principal person Javon Kinlaw, discovering large our bodies up entrance would possibly perhaps be a precedence. In Round 2, the Panthers most likely resolve an SEC corner like Fulton or Trevon Diggs to change weak 2nd-round determination James Bradberry, who signed with the Giants in March.
CHICAGO BEARS
» Round 2: No. 43 total (from Raiders) -- Cesar Ruiz, C, Michigan » Round 2: No. 50 -- Jeremy Chinn, S, Southern Illinois
Chicago is with out a vital-round capture again this twelve months in consequence of the change for sack artist Khalil Mack. Luckily, they've a couple 2nd-round picks, in conjunction with one from the Raiders within the Mack deal, that they can use to contend with two fundamental areas of want: heart and safety. Ruiz is an athletic player who has the football intelligence to step into the beginning role on Day 1. Chinn's size and hitting capability will permit him to play within the field when Authentic Bowler Eddie Jackson is in centerfield, while his total athleticism will permit him to contend with deep coverage duties and work within the slot.
DALLAS COWBOYS
» Round 1: No. 17 total -- Kenneth Murray, LB, Oklahoma » Round 2: No. 51 -- Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
Murray is with out doubt one of the most pinnacle 20 prospects in this class in consequence of his physical and mental toughness, as well to his sure persona. The Cowboys re-signed Sean Lee, nonetheless his profession is near its discontinue. Dallas invested top fee picks at linebacker in 2016 (2nd-round capture and first-round cost Jaylon Smith) and 2018 (Leighton Vander Esch, 19th total), so let's defend the even-twelve months LB decisions coming with Murray, who can play on the weak facet. Diggs is one of a number of weak SEC cornerbacks who would possibly perhaps perchance bolster the team's depth at that place. He's an infinite, stable outsider corner succesful of taking on the sigh vacated by the departed Byron Jones. Mutter that Dallas has two 2021 free agent cornerbacks in Chidobe Awuzie and Jourdan Lewis. My guess is that the Cowboys will peep to the center rounds of the draft so that you just can add one more drag rusher, as they did with Dorance Armstrong and Joe Jackson the previous couple of years.
DETROIT LIONS
» Round 1: No. 3 total -- Jeff Okudah, CB, Ohio Hiss » Round 2: No. 35 -- Neville Gallimore, DT, Oklahoma
The Lions would possibly perhaps procure a stressful determination to bear if the main two picks of the draft are quarterbacks. Trot Young's skill on the edge would be extremely advanced to drag up, nonetheless by manner of team wishes, it be advanced to argue in opposition to Okudah. His size and toughness will permit him to verify up in opposition to the league's high receivers. Gallimore's receive-off is impressive, and the Lions are buying for a three-methodology to pair with free agent nose contend with acquisition Danny Shelton.
GREEN BAY PACKERS
» Round 1: No. 30 total -- Jaylon Johnson, CB, Utah » Round 2: No. 62 -- KJ Hamler, WR, Penn Hiss
Packers followers are screaming for a drag catcher in Round 1, and it be advanced to blame them given the inconsistency around Aaron Rodgers the previous couple of seasons. Nonetheless, it be most likely that the pinnacle receivers -- CeeDee Lamb, Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs III -- would possibly perhaps be passed by the time the team picks. We're no longer projecting trades here, so I'm going to tear along with the team's subsequent biggest want -- cornerback. Jaire Alexander is defending down one sigh actual lovely, nonetheless Kevin King's future in Inexperienced Bay previous 2020 is unclear. Even when King performs effectively this plunge, Alexander would possibly perhaps perchance with out considerations switch to the slot while Johnson and King defend beginning air. Attrition on the place additionally necessitates depth. I believe Inexperienced Bay will secure a sexy receiver, such because the elusive Hamler, is accessible to them within the 2nd round, actual as Randall Cobb was help within the day.
LOS ANGELES RAMS
» Round 2: No. 52 total -- Cesar Ruiz, OL, Michigan » Round 2: No. 57 (from Texans) -- Josh Uche, edge, Michigan
The Rams procure no longer had a vital-round capture since they chose quarterback Jared Goff No. 1 total in 2016. However with two picks within the mid-2nd round this twelve months, in conjunction with the one nowadays obtained from Houston for Brandin Cooks, GM Les Snead can bear some hay. Fortifying the inner of the team's offensive line is a must, so grabbing Ruiz (one of LSU's starters, a lot like heart Lloyd Cushenberry or guard Damien Lewis, would additionally work if Ruiz is gone) would be a appealing opinion with their first capture. Even when they will fail to be conscious the draft's elite edge prospects, they would perhaps perchance honest land players like Uche or Notre Dame's Julian Okwara at 57th total to help toughen the team's drag elope. As for one team grabbing two players from the the same college within the the same round? It occurs extra in overall than you would possibly perhaps perhaps perchance perchance procure. As an instance, the Saints selected two Ohio Hiss players within the 2nd round in 2016 -- receiver Michael Thomas and safety Vonn Bell.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS
» Round 1: No. 22 total (from Payments) -- Yetur Infamous-Matos, edge rusher, Penn Hiss » Round 1: No. 25 -- Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor
The Vikings' depth at receiver was already questionable sooner than the change of the disappointed Stefon Diggs to Buffalo. So I search recordsdata from them to bolster that place community with one of their two first-rounders. Mims has the scale and hasten to be the same downfield risk as Diggs. The search recordsdata from is what they develop with the many capture. Cornerback is a vital want for the team, nonetheless I'm no longer sure there would possibly perhaps be one serene accessible worthy of either the 22nd or 25th total picks. If they retract to aid till the 2nd round to contend with that want (and add one more CB later on, as effectively), then Minnesota ought to serene peep to resolve on one of the most few high 50-cost drag rushers within the draft in Infamous-Matos. His size, stable palms and hustle bear him a probable starter on the next stage.
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
» Round 1: No. 24 total -- Jordan Like, QB, Utah Hiss » Round 3: No. 88 -- Amik Robertson, CB, Louisiana Tech
The Saints' roster is as solid as any within the league. I'm going to no longer be vexed within the occasion that they change out of the main round so that you just can add to their shrimp trove of draft picks (5 total), settling for depth somewhat than immediate starters. It will bear the most sense to me for the Saints to capture weak Georgia starter Jake Fromm within the 2nd round, after they've traded down. Nonetheless, Sean Payton would possibly perhaps perchance resolve a gamble on Like's capacity if the Utah Hiss product is serene accessible unhurried in Round 1. The Saints traded their 2nd-round capture to Miami final twelve months to switch up in Round 2 for offensive lineman Erik McCoy, so unless they capture up extra property, they will be ready till unhurried in Round 3 to bear their subsequent determination. Enter an spirited corner prospect like Robinson. Omit that he's underneath 5-foot-9 and is not any longer an elite burner; the man's simply a in point of fact factual football player who will play within the NFL for a in point of fact very prolonged time.
NEW YORK GIANTS
» Round 1: No. 4 total -- Mekhi Becton, OT, Louisville » Round 2: No. 36 -- Curtis Weaver, edge rusher, Boise Hiss
The Giants are nearly undoubtedly going to contend with the upright contend with sigh early within the draft, the search recordsdata from is, with whom? Becton, a huge human with very mild toes, conducted either facet of the line at Louisville when the team switched the line's stable and weak formations. If Lamar Jackson was serene the Cardinals' quarterback, we would procure been talking about Becton all season prolonged. Signing free agent Kyler Fackrell builds edge rusher depth, nonetheless GM Dave Gettleman would possibly perhaps be buying for extra in this draft. If Weaver is wholesome adequate to cease aid to his 2018 create, he'll be a pressure on the beginning air.
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
» Round 1: No. 21 total -- Justin Jefferson, WR, LSU » Round 2: No. 53 -- Bradlee Anae, edge rusher, Utah
There would possibly perhaps be no longer powerful to sigh about Philadelphia's want at receiver that hasn't already been acknowledged 1,000 cases. Jefferson fills Nelson Agholor's vacated sigh, contributing as a complement to DeSean Jackson (if the ragged's wholesome) and Alshon Jeffery sooner than coming into his possess unhurried in his rookie season or in Year 2. Anae is the same player to newest Eagles Derek Barnett and Brandon Graham -- no longer the most athletic player on the field nonetheless stressful-minded, provocative and legit. The team can comprise their various wishes (stack linebacker, heart, one more receiver, running aid) with their third-round compensatory capture and three fourth-round decisions.
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
» Round 1: No. 13 total (from Colts) -- Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama » Round 1: No. 31 -- Lloyd Cushenberry, OL, LSU
Closing twelve months's 2nd-round capture Deebo Samuel supplied a scrutinize of his capability all by his rookie season. Adding one more receiver who can emulate what Emmanuel Sanders dropped on the passing game is a necessity, and doubtlessly section of the reason the team traded defensive lineman DeForest Buckner to the Colts for the 13th total determination. Jeudy's collected routes and hasten-after-purchase capability will entice the Niners, though the many two elite receiver prospects, CeeDee Lamb and Henry Ruggs III, would be lovely alternatives, too, if accessible. I could perhaps perchance procure GM John Lynch would are attempting to switch down from 31st total to resolve on extra picks, because the Niners would no longer capture again till the fifth-round (No. 156). Whether or not they capture at 31, or switch down into Round 2, I could perhaps perchance procure a most likely target would be Cushenberry or his teammate, guard Damien Lewis. Cushenberry would possibly perhaps perchance jog to guard or step into the pivot upright off the bat for the 49ers if Weston Richburg (torn Patella tendon) is no longer ready to head.
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
» Round 1: No. 27 total -- Ross Blacklock, DL, TCU » Round 2: No. 59 -- Jalen Reagor, WR, TCU
Seattle is one more team most likely making an are attempting to switch out of the main round -- nonetheless will all of these teams secure change partners? Potentially no longer. The Seahawks' athletic profile parts me to two players they would perhaps perchance honest possess the main round: Blacklock and Yetur Infamous-Matos. Blacklock was a defensive contend with for the Horned Frogs, nonetheless I could perhaps perchance survey him as a stable-facet discontinue for the Seahawks within the occasion that they want Jarran Reed and Poona Ford on the field. Reagor couId be picked earlier, nonetheless it looks as if every twelve months a few receivers we did not search recordsdata from discontinue up looking ahead to the determination in direction of the discontinue of the 2nd round. Combining his abilities as a playmaker after the purchase with D.Ample. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett would be an infinite plus for Russell Wilson.
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
» Round 1: No. 14 total -- Jedrick Wills, OT, Alabama » Round 2: No. 45 -- Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, LSU
Tom Brady wishes to be stable. The Buccaneers procure a glaring hole at upright contend with. Wills' athleticism, wicked dash and enchancment all by his redshirt sophomore season in 2019 bear him a logical determination. I develop no longer care powerful about CEH's 4.6 40 time on the Combine. He's a stud aid who is advanced to contend with and can bear performs within the passing game. He deserves to be picked earlier than 45th, nonetheless we procure viewed replacement quality running backs tear into the mid-2nd round: Le'Veon Bell, Derrick Henry, LeSean McCoy, Ray Rice and Miles Sanders to name a few. Or no longer it's somewhat conceivable Edwards-Helaire, D'Andre Swift or Jonathan Taylor would possibly perhaps be accessible for Tampa Bay.
WASHINGTON REDSKINS
» Round 1: No. 2 total -- Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama » Round 3: No. 66 -- Bryan Edwards, WR, South Carolina
Dwayne Haskins would possibly perhaps perchance honest prove to be a factual NFL quarterback, nonetheless I'm going to be very a lot surprised if new coach Ron Rivera would not bring in Tua to be a inequity-maker on the field and within the locker room. If Rivera choses to follow Haskins, though, then drag rusher extraordinaire Trot Young would possibly perhaps be the evident capture at No. 2 total. Washington, who traded its 2nd-round capture to Indianapolis all by the 2019 draft to switch up for edge rusher Montez Sweat, can tear in a number of directions in Round 3. I procure in Edwards they've the different to express one more hidden gem at receiver to complement final twelve months's secure, Terry McLaurin. Edwards is an underappreciated prospect who wins downfield and has factual strength and agility within the beginning field. I develop no longer procure them taking an offensive contend with above due to the I believe they will change disgruntled left contend with Trent Williams for a capture in this draft, which they will use on his substitute.

NFL mock draft 2017: 2 rounds of fun
In our latest mock draft, every team gets at least one pick — except the Patriots.
The 2017 NFL Draft is a week away, and each team’s board is just about ready to go. The New England Patriots are the only franchise without a selection in the first or second round, but it just won’t feel like a draft until Bill Belichick finds a way to trade his way into the top 64 picks.
But trades are reliant upon having an idea of who wants what and which players are going to go where.
The San Francisco 49ers could be in the market to try to swap the No. 2 pick, but what player will teams want to come up and grab? If Mitchell Trubisky is the apple of a team’s eye, which team would that be?
If any team makes sense for Trubisky as a landing spot, it’s hard to argue against the 49ers as the one. Yes, the team has other holes on the roster, but a pick early in the second round could be used to address another need.
With that, here’s a look at the haul each team could get in the first two rounds next week:
1. Cleveland Browns
1st round (1st overall): Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M 1st round (12th overall): Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson 2nd round (33rd overall): Quincy Wilson, CB, Florida 2nd round (52nd overall): JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, USC
The Browns are rumored to be split between Garrett and Trubisky for the first pick, and — call me naive — but I actually believe them. But I’d still guess they lean toward Garrett, and settle for another quarterback. In this case, it’s Deshaun Watson, the second quarterback off the board who gets a receiver to work with in the second round.
2. San Francisco 49ers
1st round (2nd overall): Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina 2nd round (34th overall): Derek Rivers, DE, Youngstown State
The 49ers may trade away the No. 2 pick and gather young talent, but it’s difficult to find a potential trade partner. They’re as quarterback needy as any team, so why not just take the No. 1 passer for themselves? In the second round, the team gets a speedy edge rusher to complement the last two first-round picks — Arik Armstead and DeForest Buckner.
3. Chicago Bears
1st round (3rd overall): Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford 2nd round (36th overall): Adoree’ Jackson, CB, USC
The draft plan for the Bears should be simple: Add impact players. Solomon Thomas can be that up front and he’d give them another dangerous edge rusher to a front seven that has Leonard Floyd. On the outside, Adoree’ Jackson can help a secondary that rarely made big plays, and his return ability would be welcomed on the roster.
4. Jacksonville Jaguars
1st round (4th overall): Jonathan Allen, DE, Alabama 2nd round (35th overall): Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State
Jacksonville has made a habit out of adding defensive line talent, but doesn’t have much depth behind Calais Campbell. Allen provides a future at the position and another option for a defense that likes rotation up front. Landing Dalvin Cook in the second round would be a dream come true for the team and really not that unrealistic.
5. Tennessee Titans
1st round (5th overall): Jamal Adams, S, LSU 1st round (18th overall): Marlon Humphrey, CB, Alabama
Just like that, and the Titans secondary can go from a concern to a strength. Here they add two SEC defensive backs, who would join former Patriots cornerback Logan Ryan and former Jaguars safety Johnathan Cyprien. Giving Marcus Mariota some more tools to work with is still a priority, but the team’s pass defense — which finished No. 30 in yards allowed — stands to make significant strides in 2017.
6. New York Jets
1st round (6th overall): John Ross, WR, Washington 2nd round (39th overall): Jabrill Peppers, S, Michigan
If this was the Jets’ haul, it would likely be the most talked about picks after the fact. John Ross would be the first true surprise of the draft, but he’d bring real game-breaking ability to a wide receiver corps that is now without Brandon Marshall. In the second round, the Jets get Peppers — a Swiss Army knife who can be used creatively by Todd Bowles in the secondary. In Bowles’s two years with the Cardinals, the team picked Tyrann Mathieu and Deone Bucannon. Giving him a multi-faceted toy of a defensive back would help a defense that struggled to keep points off the board.
7. Los Angeles Chargers
1st round (7th overall): Malik Hooker, S, Ohio State 2nd round (38th overall): Caleb Brantley, DT, Florida
Joey Bosa made a significant impact for the Chargers, and that’s the kind of player they need to continue to add. Malik Hooker is the ball hawk safety of the class and can step in at a position where the Chargers have a big deficiency. Brantley can provide a penetrating 3-technique for a team transitioning to a 4-3 under new DC Gus Bradley.
8. Carolina Panthers
1st round (8th overall): Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State 2nd round (40th overall): Alvin Kamara, RB, Tennessee 2nd round (64th overall): Evan Engram, TE, Mississippi
Letting Josh Norman walk as a free agent last year was a bold stand against overpaying the cornerback position, but replacing him wasn’t easy. With Lattimore, the Panthers get the top cornerback in the class as long as he can stay healthy. In the second round, Carolina adds a pair of weapons for Cam Newton to work with, even if they aren’t wide receivers. Kamara can split carries with Jonathan Stewart, and Engram can allow the Panthers to run two tight end sets with more effectiveness than what Ed Dickson provides.
9. Cincinnati Bengals
1st round (9th overall): Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee 2nd round (41st overall): Jarrad Davis, LB, Florida
Finally the Bengals have another edge rusher opposite Carlos Dunlap with the addition of Derek Barnett, a polished player who could make his presence felt early. The team also lucks out at the top of the second round by getting the Mike linebacker it needs in the middle of the defense.
10. Buffalo Bills
1st round (10th overall): Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State 2nd round (44th overall): David Njoku, TE, Miami (Fla.)
There are many directions the Bills could go in the draft, but getting Stephon Gilmore’s replacement early is probably the top priority. The only other need that could come close is receiver, but nobody jumps out at pick 44 who could be the instant solution. Instead, Njoku somehow stayed on the board and is an athletic player to work with in the passing game.
11. New Orleans Saints
1st round (11th overall): O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama 1st round (32nd overall): Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Colorado 2nd round (42nd overall): Dan Feeney, G, Indiana
Logically, the Saints should spend most of their draft focusing on the defensive side of the ball. But historically, Sean Payton and Co. just can’t seem to help themselves when a good offensive prospect is on the board. O.J. Howard is a hugely athletic tight end who can fill the void that Jimmy Graham left and Coby Fleener definitely didn’t fix. With so many defensive backs, the end of the first round and the second round could be a hot bed, although shoring up the offensive line with Feeney would also be wise.
13. Arizona Cardinals
1st round (13th overall): Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan 2nd round (45th overall): DeShone Kizer, QB, Notre Dame
A changing of the guard is coming in Arizona, and 2017 looks like it could certainly be the last hurrah for Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald. While Corey Davis can help both of those players next season, these are selections for the future, and Kizer gives Bruce Arians a young prospect to try to mold into the next face of the franchise for the Cardinals.
14. Philadelphia Eagles
1st round (14th overall): Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU 2nd round (43rd overall): Cordrea Tankersley, CB, Clemson
The Eagles could realistically find two starting cornerbacks in the draft, but Fournette would be awfully difficult to pass up if he’s on the board at No. 14 — after all, Darren Sproles will slow down eventually ... I think. Ryan Mathews has thrived in two- and three-headed backfields, and would be a good bridge for Fournette to not have to shoulder the entire load right away. In the second round, the Eagles get the secondary help they so sorely need.
15. Indianapolis Colts
1st round (15th overall): Haason Reddick, LB, Temple 2nd round (46th overall): Taylor Moton, OL, Western Michigan
Reuben Foster is still on the board at No. 15, but the Colts could make better use of the speed and athleticism of Reddick in the middle of the defense. In the second round, Indianapolis gives Andrew Luck — who has been injured for years now, literally — some much-needed protection.
16. Baltimore Ravens
1st round (16th overall): Mike Williams, WR, Clemson 2nd round (47th overall): Tyus Bowser, OLB, Houston
There’s plenty of debate about the order Williams, John Ross, and Corey Davis come off the board, but there’s an agreement that the fourth receiver off the board is in a lower tier. Snagging Williams gives the Ravens one of the top receivers in the class, which is perfect for a receiving corps without much production to point to. In the second round, Baltimore adds one of the more intriguing and athletic edge rushers — a spot where finding Terrell Suggs’s eventual replacement is necessary.
17. Washington
1st round (17th overall): Malik McDowell, DT, Michigan State 2nd round (49th overall): Budda Baker, S, Washington
This could finally be the draft when Washington decides to actually add an interior defensive lineman. For some reason, the team took just one defensive linemen in the first three rounds over the last five years. But with McDowell on the board at No. 17, it’s a match made in heaven. So, too, would be the opportunity to take Baker, giving the team a better option than D.J. Swearinger at safety.
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
1st round (19th overall): Obi Melifonwu, S, Connecticut 2nd round (50th overall): Carl Lawson, DE, Auburn
If Christian McCaffrey is still on the board at No. 19, he could be hard to pass up, but the fit of Melifonwu in Tampa Bay is just too perfect. He’s one of the true athletic freaks of the class and would give a significant upgrade to both the pass and run defense in Tampa Bay as a box safety. In the second round, Lawson would be another explosive rusher for a team that already has Robert Ayers and Noah Spence.
20. Denver Broncos
1st round (20th overall): Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford 2nd round (51st overall): Antonio Garcia, OT, Troy
There isn’t an offensive lineman in the class that will change an offense the way that McCaffrey will. That’s why he’s the pick for the Broncos, who don’t have much to work with outside of their receivers. In the second round, Garcia gives Denver a potential starter on the offensive line.
21. Detroit Lions
1st round (21st overall): Charles Harris, DE, Missouri 2nd round (53rd overall): Raekwon McMillan, LB, Ohio State
The Lions could use an edge-rushing boost after finishing near the bottom of the NFL in sacks with just 26. Harris provides that, while McMillan is a likely starter in a defense that is slated to start Paul Worrilow, Tahir Whitehead, and Antwione Williams.
22. Miami Dolphins
1st round (22nd overall): Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama 2nd round (54th overall): T.J. Watt, DE, Wisconsin
Offensive line is likely a priority for the Dolphins, but Reuben Foster provides a big upgrade over Koa Misi and an impact Sam linebacker up front. With most of the top offensive linemen of the second round gone too, the Dolphins get great value in Watt. He’s projected by most as a 3-4 outside linebacker, but he’s bigger than Cameron Wake and could eventually attempt to fill the shoes of the five-time Pro Bowler.
23. New York Giants
1st round (23rd overall): Ryan Ramczyk, OT, Wisconsin 2nd round (55th overall): Chris Wormley, DT, Michigan
The Giants add size on both lines in the first two rounds. Even if the team hasn’t given up on Ereck Flowers, Ramczyk can take over for Bobby Hart on the right side. Wormley can give the Giants an inside threat to push the pocket, and help to fill the void left by the departure of Johnathan Hankins.
24. Oakland Raiders
1st round (24th overall): Zach Cunningham, LB, Vanderbilt 2nd round (56th overall): Kevin King, CB, Washington
While the Raiders really have the luxury to take the best player available, regardless of position, the defense is the side that needs more work. If there is a big hole to fill, it’s at linebacker, and Cunningham is as exciting a playmaker as there is at the position to replace Malcolm Smith. Then in the second round, the Raiders take King, a tall, press cornerback on a defense that likes tall, press cornerbacks.
25. Houston Texans
1st round (25th overall): Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama 2nd round (57th overall): Marcus Williams, S, Utah
It’s tempting to force a quarterback to the Texans, and that certainly could be the direction they go in, but they’ve never shown a tendency to be desperate in the past. If they don’t have a prospect they love at the position, I believe Bill O’Brien when he says he’s fine with Tom Savage. Instead, the team can address two other needs by taking Robinson in the wake of Derek Newton’s serious injury, and by selecting Williams to possibly start ahead of Andre Hal.
26. Seattle Seahawks
1st round (26th overall): Garett Bolles, OT, Utah 2nd round (58th overall): Ahkello Witherspoon, CB, Colorado
Offensive line absolutely has to be a priority for the Seahawks, and Bolles gives them a day one starter at tackle. Whether that’s on the left or right side probably depends on what they think of Luke Joeckel, who was kicked inside to guard in Jacksonville before leaving in free agency. In the second round, the Seahawks get Witherspoon — an underrated, long cornerback who stands at 6’3.
27. Kansas City Chiefs
1st round (27th overall): Patrick Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech 2nd round (59th overall): Tim Williams, OLB, Alabama
With 10 draft picks and a roster that likely won’t have 10 rookies on the final 53, the Chiefs could be in business to package some picks and move up. But if Mahomes falls to them at No. 27 and Williams at No. 59, there really wouldn’t be any reason to do so. Both players could be the trade targets. Mahomes gives Andy Reid his quarterback of the future after Alex Smith, and Williams is another pass rusher for a team that already has a few. It’s a bit of a luxury pick, but the Chiefs don’t have many dire needs to address.
28. Dallas Cowboys
1st round (28th overall): Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan 2nd round (60th overall): Jordan Willis, DE, Kansas State
Previous attempts to add a premier pass rusher (Greg Hardy and Randy Gregory) didn’t work out well for the Cowboys. It’s the clear top need for Dallas in the draft, so why not take two cracks at it with Charlton and Willis near the bottom of each of the first two rounds?
29. Green Bay Packers
1st round (29th overall): Joe Mixon, RB, Oklahoma 2nd round (61st overall): Fabian Moreau, CB, UCLA
Ted Thompson loves to add speed and athleticism early, and both Mixon and Moreau provide that. Moreau is recovering from a pectoral injury suffered at the UCLA pro day, but that shouldn’t stop him from being an early contributor. The concerns about Mixon go far beyond that, but somebody is going to take him early, and the Packers could be the landing spot.
30. Pittsburgh Steelers
1st round (30th overall): Takkarist McKinley, OLB, UCLA 2nd round (62nd overall): Teez Tabor, CB, Florida
The Steelers need to: A) Find an outside linebacker to pair with 2015 first-round pick Bud Dupree; and B) Find a cornerback to pair with 2016 first-round pick Artie Burns. In this scenario they do both, snagging an ultra-athletic, but raw pass rusher in McKinley, and a very productive and successful, albeit slow, cornerback in Tabor.
31. Atlanta Falcons
1st round (31st overall): Forrest Lamp, OG, Western Kentucky 2nd round (63rd overall): Montravius Adams, DT, Auburn
Expect an emphasis on beef when it comes to the Falcons. The team could stand to find a new starter on the offensive line and help its run defense with another nose tackle, even after bringing on Dontari Poe. Lamp and Adams fit the bill and would add about 613 combined pounds to the Atlanta roster.
37. Los Angeles Rams
2nd round (37th overall): Zay Jones, WR, East Carolina
The Rams sought to provide Jared Goff with some help in the offseason, but Robert Woods alone isn’t going to cut it. Jones is FBS’s all-time leader in receptions after racking up huge stats at East Carolina and should be able to immediately contribute for the Rams, which is a must for an offense that can’t afford to slowly groom any additional young talent.
48. Minnesota Vikings
2nd round (48th overall): Dion Dawkins, G, Temple
Getting a running back would be nice now that the Adrian Peterson era is over, but after the top five backs there’s a drop off and they’re all gone when the Vikings go on the clock. But adding offensive line talent is certainly a priority, too. The Vikings struggled to protect Sam Bradford and couldn’t provide much running room anyway. Dawkins was a three-year starter who played left tackle in college, and could play tackle in the NFL, but likely projects best inside.

Listen I’m telling you guys “do it for the bit” is the sleeper agent activation phrase for both Matt and Al. They hear it and suddenly whatever mischief they were hesitant about is now a matter of do-or-die. Also “do it no balls” but it only works if they say it to each other
Single brain cell between the two of them and sometimes it belongs to neither of them
