It shuts Bucky up. It also makes Mr. Hoots shuffle his wing feathers around a little, which keeps Bucky shut up. Both go some small way toward mollifying Sam, slightly.

It's just. It's not fair. Whatever Bucky's here to try to make him do by guilting him with the memories of Steve that hold them together, it isn't fair. Sam had made it official that he was out, hung up his wings and the shield and traded them for unfucking the world in other ways. The inner city kids, the inmates, the adults with learning disabilities—they deserve his efforts just as much as the rest of the world. The birds with the broken wings, too, the ones they rescued from illegal exotic pet dealers and the ones they took in from over-crowded sanctuaries, they need help just as much as those stupid superheroes and their stupid world governments ever did.

Hi! Do you have some Malec fic recommendations? I love almost everything expect alpha/beta/omega verse. I’m weak for slow burns and I love those really long fics with detailed stories that almost feel like books. Angst is okay but I need happy endings for my babies!

hi!! i do sometimes, and i don't read a/b/o so don’t worry lmao. ummm i'm kind of picky with what i read hdjshs but here are some of my faves:

the right kind of love and the great are often bruised by onyxmoon. they’re both long stories and honestly probably my favorite fics ever, they’re SO good.

reconstruction by bumblebeesknees: also very long, super intense, made me cry tbh hsjsjd (and like every other fic by bumblebeesknees i've read is great, so just check out their stories).

far from gone by agnes joseph (alray): even LONGER. literally incredible. heartbreaking, painful, very angsty but beautiful and with a happy ending.

walkers of the winding path by paperiuni: basically a the witcher au, i read it when i still hadn't seen the show so if you haven't seen it you can still read it and you'll be fine. it's so beautiful and well written!

we're not built to love and run by manzini: i loooove twi malec. i also love mutual pining. greta combo, great fic. again, anything by manzini i've read is great so check them out.

the long thrill, yesterday will make you cry, and make the right mistake, all by matchsticks_p: one of my favorite authors and like. everything they write? incredible. amazing. everything i could ever ask for. it's like they've read my mind. i know this means nothing to you, anon, jshskd, but if you love magnus like i do then you will 100% love their fics!!

dissolution by cuubism: a lot of angst but... happy ending! very intense but so beautiful (and again, i've loved everything i've read by them so check their other fics too).

azazel by starkraving: just pain honestly but it's like hurt/comfort so you might wanna check it out. really good.

rent a holidate by alecmagnuslwb: i read it recently and it's very sweet and funny!!

what love looks like by adi_rotynd: lots of my favorite things in one fic. magnus being loved by everyone, izzy/magnus friendship. very sweet, very beautiful.
