I'm a 19 years old female, Taurus and INFJ and I'm bi.

Appearance: I'm pretty short (1,50 cm 🥲), with brown curls and green eyes.

Personality: I am the kind of person with whom someone cam have deep conversations and then laugh a moment later. I enjoy the peace and calm, always trying to see good in people but having no problems getting worked up over valid reasons. I have a pretty spiritual way of seeing the world, resulting in others not really understanding me quite often. Bologna ha questa capacità straordinaria di matchare il mio mood ogni volta che vengo. Oggi sono estremamente confusa, sull’orlo del pianto e Bologna è grigia, lenta, piove a intermittenza sembra che il cielo non riesca a decidersi. Bologna secondo me ascolta anche un po’ le tue richieste, avevo bisogno di parlare e una signora in treno mi ha chiesto di me. È una città magica che non ti lascia mai solo, ti fa silenziosamente compagnia.

OKAY it's called Weaving Voices, it's a 10-episode fixed run podcast series and 1000% worth listening to.

I will say, I went in expecting - like I listen to a lot of textile podcasts, ok, and there's often a formula of like. Soft-spoken (white) female host, guest is soft-spoken (white) female speaking gently about how she has disengaged personally from society/destructive textile systems and now owns four chickens and designs knitting patterns or weaves little jackets for rescue donkeys or whatever. (Which: I have criticisms of because they're lovely and soft to listen to but create the veneer and feeling of like. I can opt out and personally be sustainable even if the planet is burning, and while that feels very nice to listen to, your small scale chicken farm will do nothing without you engaging with the rest of society and advocating for changes that will prevent the planet from burning.)

(Which: I would encourage you to consider reading Homeward Bound by Emily Matchar, which touches on the concept of the homesteading movement as creating the illusion of being able to opt out from society and is an interesting critical lens.)

BUT ANYWAY the first episode of Weaving Voices is actually not about fiber at all, it's an interview with a guy talking about how we have to dismantle modern economics or society will crumble, so you have to kind of know that going in.

However. It is a very, very good podcast, and rather than just focusing on tackling the problems with our current fast fashion model it really digs into solutions, which is refreshing. The other thing I love is that it talks about system-wide solutions and reform, rather than "here's a pair of pants you, the listener, can buy to personally solve textile sustainability." It treats the responsibility for this as collective which I don't often see, and examines in more detail things like:

the politics of the current 'fabric sustainability' grading system and why they're inexplicably biased towards plastic fibers

rebutting some of the anti-sustainability arguments against genuinely sustainable textiles like silk and alpaca

examining the fallacy of "donating clothes" in a fast-fashion world where so many of the RTW garments are meant to be disposable, and speaks to people working in textile markets in Ghana where bales of waste clothing from the western world are shipped, for some reason

and then quite relatedly a really good examination of how the three R's are reduce/reuse/recycle but we've focused so hard on recycling that we've forgotten the other two, and why that's uhh not ideal

microplastics!! in everything!! and there's a super cool interview with a scientist tracking how microplastics move into soil and water systems as a consequence of laundering plastic clothes

also there are some profoundly moving episodes speaking to indigenous textile producers that are examining, effectively, what pre-industrial textile systems looked like as both a lens to consider the impact of colonization on these systems and also how different current textile production and consumption has become.

a really moving episode on the garment worker labour movement in LA and how they're advocating for national legislation after being successful on a state scale (!!!)

It's really special and cool, and what I find is that like. The episodes themselves were interesting, but what I'm really loving is that the more I let the series marinate, the more thoughts I have and the more I realize I've learned. It educates in an indirect way but did a really good job.

Cosa pensi dei fumetti di fumettibrutti?

È una domanda che ha diverse risposte, ho conosciuto in modo (ovviamente) superficiale Yole perché faceva anche lei l’accademia a Bologna, ci ho scambiato due parole una volta, simpatica, gentile, credo sia una ragazza molto intelligente e con tanto carisma, è risaputo anche, detto innanzitutto dai nostri stessi professori, che il modo di disegnare che ha è stato suggerito da questi ultimi perché lei, non volendo usare un font già scritto, scrivesse talmente male che per matchare con il tratto gli dissero di disegnare “più storto”. Per quanto riguarda le tematiche, credo che abbia un grandissimo potenziale e tantissimo potere mediatico per portare alta la voce delle minoranze di cui fa parte, cosa che secondo me sfrutta poco e minimizza ma non le do nemmeno la colpa, il fatto che sia così famosa parte dal fatto che in Italia la gente non legge fumetti, non ha nessuna competenza di lettura dell’immagine e non ha mezzi di paragone per quanto riguarda l’estetica, non legge e non si informa. Personalmente, i disegni non mi piacciono per niente e nemmeno cosa scrive, ma lei deve vendere, quello è il fatto, si è accaparrata una fetta di pubblico che ha un target preciso e ora deve soddisfare i requisiti che sono imposti da editori come Feltrinelli che a tutto pensano tranne a fare le cose fatte bene, l’editoria in Italia questo è; un cumulo di immondizia, se hai firmato un contratto quello che devi e quello farai. Penso possa fare molto di più? Si. Penso abbia molto di più da dire? Si. Penso lo farà? Si dai, lo credo. La stimo come persone e come lavoratrice del settore perché se dovessi dire che non lavora e che non fa un cazzo direi una puttanata e non sarebbe nemmeno da me, si fa assolutamente il culo per la sua carriera e lo riconosco. Il fatto è che non può girare per anni ancora dietro al concetto di troia li succhiacazzi la, boh, sterile, non mi interessa, non è ciò che voglio leggere, a volte alla gente piace comprare cose che già conosce (perché viste sui social), poco impegnative, facili da comprendere, semplici da guardare, e alla fine va bene così, la maggioranza vince sempre dopotutto ed infatti lei è una donna di successo con ormai tanta esperienza e tante opportunità mentre io sono qua a farmelo in mano quindi la cogliona probabilmente so io

Jag började att tänka på två av mina initialer och hur dom kan sitta ihop. Då kom jag på att undersidan av s kan bli ovansidan på ett j. Sen hittade jag inspirations bilder med skrivstil, vilket jag tycker är väldigt kul att skriva. Sen tänkte jag efter om jag kunde få in mitt andra efternamn i den symbolen. Då kom jag fram till mitt slutresultat.

Formen på min symbol blev ganska avlång, och därför tyckte jag att det blev lite skumt med en fyrkantig form runtomkring, därför skar jag ut en oval form runtomkring som matchar texten mer.

När jag spegelvände mitt tryck så valde jag den skissen som jag gillade mest, och ritade i formen på baksidan av pappret. Jag behövde ändra hur jag ville ha ändarna på linjen. Det gick inte att göra det så pass tunt som jag ville ha det.

Jag valde en liten skalpell med en vinkel som kunde skära tunnare linjer. Sen behövde jag också en större skärgärn med en rundare form.

Efter den första försöket till tryck så behövde jag göra om lite av linjerna eftersom att dom var för tunna.

Jag tyckte det blev bra. Det blev lite grovt pågrund av linoleumplattan. Så det blev inte precis som jag tänkte mig. Det var svårt att få till ”looparna” i bokstäverna.

Jag blev nöjd med hur jag fick till hur den skapar en fin form med hu den svänger runt

Jag hade gjort en lite enklare form utan alla loopar och grejer. Det blev ganska svårt med detta material.
