no bcs the ph government is so anti-people it is literally insane. They're phasing out the jeepneys, which is a transportation vehicle that has been ingrained in filipino culture. I get where they're coming from, really. The issues with jeepneys and the pros to the modernized ones BUT maybe not do this now? Maybe come up with a more solid plan that will not jeopardize hundreds, if not, thousands of filipinos' livelihoods? Not NOW when we legit just got out of the pandemic and due to shitty governance, the inflation rate is skyrocketing. How do they expect the jeepney drivers to comply with the money and the debt it will bring to buy a modernized jeepney? And the people sitting on government seats are calling the protestors "commúnists" AND these asshole "public servants" are threatening said protestors of administrative and criminal sanctions for PROTESTING. WHICH IS A RIGHT? It's literally in the philippine constitution? Article 3, section 4??? Yudipota, i literally cannot handle this stupidity.

When your government officials call the people's grievances and concerns "pointless", it's quite telling abt the reason why they're officials in the first place. Or rather, NOT the reason. Bcs they certainly did not go in with the filipino ppl in mind

It has been MONTHS and all the articles i've read about the things he has done/said are never anything good. how can you be in office in almost a year without any accomplishments or concrete plans??? The first few months were all just parties??? What has he done besides throw parties and go on foreign trips and coming back with ONLY pledges. And still, EVERTHING is rising in prices, people are STILL struggling– and ugh, bilatinamo nga 31million na, tani masadya kamo ah

During our Rizal class, my teacher had asked us, "If Rizal were alive today, would you vote for him in a government position? Do you think he'd win? Why?"
Most answered "yes", "of course", "bcs he has the capabilities", etc.
Of us 40, only two of us said no, though we would vote for him, he would most likely lose.
My other classmate answered that no, he wouldn't win. Because he is not a leader, he is someone who stays more in the background.
i answered, because he has the credibility and the resolve to serve. And he'd lose because those aren't what the filipino people look for in their politicians.
Our teacher said that, no he wouldn't win because he has integrity and won't resort to doing things like vote buying.
And seeing all the answers, the way we see how other people choose and vote for the people in power– it's just so sad, and it just makes me so angry. A credible and capable leader will not win, mostly because he has morals. It's messed up.

putangina what the fuck pilipinas. Months later and still, Putangina people of the Philippines.
Imagine voting for a president that showed up to 0 debates, has a lacking platform, and has a questionable background and credentials.
Or for an action star with no prior education or experience in politics and law.
What a joke.
Now we're all suffering for it.

I do not want to say "I told you so."
I never wished for our country's downfall just so I could have superiority over those who voted for the red dude– If I would be proven wrong, that'd be best. Because I voted with the country and the people's futures in mind, voted for the candidate I thought would be best for them– then I would take no losses, because the country and its people would still have a proper leader, despite the fact that his hands are stained in the same colour as his campaign's, at least it will give us hope that we can thrive, or at least survive the next six years.
But fuck. We're only a few months in and I already know where this is going. I do not want to say I told you so. I pity us, all of us, because fucking hell man, these next six years are going to be rough.
