for the johndo friendship, maybe doyoung is less affectionate because he feels johnny doesn't necessarily /need/ anything from him? like attention maybe, but that's more a want? but I'm pretty sure their friendship is closer than what we may see since I believe in one of their interviews for a magazine they revealed that its actually Johnny who doyoung goes to to talk about his thoughts and feelings. I'll try to find the translations or a link and send it to you :)

Johnny is capable of a deep talk. Despite his clownish tendencies, he is not a shallow person. That’s exactly what this friendship provides Doyoung, adult-adult conversations, adult-adult spending of time.

You read words “Doyoung talks about his thoughts and feelings” and think its about something very intimate. And how do you know? There is 127 as a team, the worries about success, saesangs, etc, etc. to talk about. They are teammates and comrades. Jaehyun also has deep talks with Johnny, Johnny knows his childhood stories, his view on life, his interests - lots of stuff. It doesn’t make them the bestest of friends. Nor does Johnny’s kind and heartfelt words to Yuta about their experiences and special bond in “To you” make JohnYu really close. 

On the contrary, Johnny needs attention and companionship from Doyoung. And that’s why Doyoung gives it to him. But there is a limit, they are not matched character wise well enough for Doyoung to become Johnny’s bff. He can’t give him what Johnny really needs, he can help lessen, but not solve Johnny’s problems. Doyoung doesn’t understand Johnny’s humour, he doesn’t feel comfortable with the loud, noisy side of him, nor does he feel comfortable with the exessive touchiness (and Johnny needs the human warmth, body contact, hugs and cuddles). Johnny goes to Mark to create something together musically, he goes to Hyuk to play games or go to gym with.
