In honor of breast Cancer awareness month, I thought I would post this picture of an in progress mastectomy piece I am currently in the process of doing. This is a scar cover up as well as a tattoo coverup! Why?? Well as you can see in the second picture, they utilized tissue from her stomach to rebuild her breasts and they just happened to have tattoos! So this is a double whammy!!! I am so happy to be able to do this piece as Breast Cancer is one of those things which has struck my family and my friends (of whom this is one). Its nasty. The new Nipple is a surgical creation and NOT A REAL NIPPLE*** My client had her left breast removed and replaced with an implant and a surgically created nipple. Once healed, she had a PMU artist do her nipple and Areola (photo image #1) and as you can see, it faded. Why? PMU (permanent make-up) is designed to fade. I learned this when I took a full accredited PMU certification course in 2019. I have covered, fixed and redone many nipple and areola tattoos in my profession, and being certified in PMU, my clients are able to arrange insurance reimbursement BEFORE the nipple tattoo is performed. ***I do NOT accept insurance for mastectomy tattoo procedures, all interested clients please inquire with your insurance FIRST before setting up your mastectomy tattoo.
