Yeah so in the group chat recently we had a whole great discussion about sailor tattoos and like. I felt like I had to do something with tattoos. For the sake of it.

So I made this guy. I named him Maskroe. He's a boatswain and a Sequencer, depicted here with boarding weapons and on the attack. Still trying to come up with ideas for his title and backstory (ideas are welcome, please send if you have any) but I had a ton of fun with the tattoos. See if you can figure out what they mean!

The gold on the shoulder tat is in fact gold paint. Didn't have anything else to use but the paint was available, and thus voilà.

Also might as well talk about it now cuz i have to yap XD (some light spoilers for chapter 9 but I want to talk about symbolism)

I know it’s the same in some countries but I’m just going to say some more things about it. At least in Sweden where I live dandelions are usually symbols of being born/or in bad condition and making it out alright, the same way dandelions can break through concrete and grow out of cracks in sidewalks and survive. Most noticeable with this symbolism is in the word “Maskrosbarn” which translates to “Dandelion child” which is a word that means someone having a rough and terrible childhood and still growing up to be a good person/successful person.

So to spell it out, the dandelion is a bit symbolic of Fit, having lived in horrible conditions and then in the future healing and still coming out of it alright. This is also shown in the way past Fit calls it weeds and Pac calls it flowers, it’s symbolic of Fit as a person. 

(Also “Maskros” directly translated from swedish means “Worm-rose” or “Mask-rose” , it has the word ‘Rose’ in the name)

Sometimes I think swedish is a rly boring languge. Okay sorry but we got waaayy too many homonyms for stuff and it kinda really sucks

Poppy is such a boring name? Poppies are my favorire flowers they're so beautiful they deserve a better name. Valmo on the other hand?? Girlll thats so romantic I love valmo!!!

The worst name is probably cornflower. Who named these???? Why are they called that??? Thats so uglyyy. Blåklint tho??? Beautiful🥰 sounds like some blue glittery stone or something. (Btw å is not prounounced like a okay blaklint would also be uglyy)

Forget me nots are a really cool name but they just sound better in swedish "förgätmigej". Its just one word and it has the exact same meaning✌️

Basically all other flower names are good tho, its just these ones. A silly swedish flower would be "maskros" (wormrose) for dandelion🌼. Like when its named wormrose you get why people hate it, at least dandelion sounds beautiful
