It's weird some diss the Seven Year Gap when it's a very unique kind of time skip.

Our main characters and guild mates close to them wake up the next day only to find it was nearly a decade long sleep. It sorta sidesteps a potential pitfall of time skips where we're playing catch up with the characters and are thrown for a loop when big changes go unelaborated on. But Team Natsu and company are with us on that.

Plus, it kinda touches on a kind of loss where they didn't die but years of their lives were stripped away. Years where they could've seen Bisca and Alzack get hitch before making their child. Years where they could've kept the guild out of dire straits. It can mirror how friends can lose touch due to factors out of their control.

Synopsis [baka updates]: In the mystical realm of Earth Land, magic exists at the core of everyday life for its inhabitants, from transportation to utilities and everything in between. However, even with all its benefits, magic can also be used for great evil; therefore, to prevent dark forces from upsetting the natural order of things, there exists a system of magical guilds in the Kingdom of Fiore. Under the command of their respective guild masters, these guilds are made up of witches and wizards who take on various job requests to earn fame and fortune. One particular guild stands high above the rest in both strength and spirit, and its name is Fairy Tail.

In his quest to find his dragon foster father—Igneel—Natsu Dragneel, a fiery and reckless mage, and his partner Happy run into a young celestial mage by the name of Lucy Heartfilia, who reveals that it's her dream to become a full-fledged wizard and join the Fairy Tail guild. After rescuing her from an abduction attempt, Natsu offers her a home in Fairy Tail. Now a member of the guild, Lucy teams up with Natsu and befriends fellow wizards Gray Fullbuster and Erza "Titania" Scarlet. Together, this motley crew set out on their many adventures, gaining many faithful allies and deadly foes along the way.

Why all the hate for Fairy Tail?

Now I'm not talking about all of those who had enjoyed it but feel off that wagon. Feeling a long running Anime's later arcs isn't what it use to be isn't invalid. Love comes and goes as they say.

That said, some feel like jilted ex-partners that let their feelings of "being betrayed" fester into something toxic.

Another camp is that of Anime fans and communities like AniTwitter that make it the butt of every joke. Some of it being exaggerated

Namely those that never saw a thing past episode one if at all but participate in making the series out to be, as Sarah Z would put it, sacrificial trash.

Basically, when their "critiques" boil down to just:

"F**k you, show I have no interest in viewing!"

It indicates that something's... not right.

Like did Hiro Mashima run over their cats or something? Geez...

I hope to gather thoughts and feedback on this so I can maybe make a more fair assessment with an open mind. Please be civil and thorough.
