compilation of the classical music i listen to regularly (like. a lot) because i want to tell someone about it :)
this performance of dvorak’s new world symphony conducted by Marzena Diakun. i havent really listened to many other versions but i like the way she interprets it. also clarinet solos :)
Elgar’s Enigma Variations! i like this structure of music in general but this one has a really nice balance between slower movements and more upbeat movements. also more clarinet solos. take a guess which instrument i play
Vaughan Williams’ folk song suite - i played this once! its fun. sometimes when im bored i’ll play the fun triplet bit in the first movement. also my conductor described this as ‘extremely english’ which. sums up a lot of vaughan williams’ music tbh
Saint-Saens Bacchanale - fast and lively and sounds like it would be intense but also really fun to play. it’s really short as well! only 8 minutes. im making wwx and lwj play this in my au :)
Hilary Hahn’s version of the Sibelius Violin concerto - this is. literally. so so good. Hilary Hahn is such a good player and this concerto in particular has so much in it. she really really drives the tension and the climatic moments are really really strong. also someone in the comments described it as ‘technically stunning’ which like. yeah i can see
Swan Lake theme - the DRAMA.... this is like super super short but i have listened to it on repeat.
Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring - this is literally in cql its so funny go to 30:36 and it’s literally what they play in episode 33 when they’re all diving for the yin iron
Rachmaninoff’s Symphony no 2 - this is really sweet! i like the melodies in this it feels like a journey when you’re listening to it. it’s almost yearnful in a way. also there’s a really similar melody in a clone wars episode which is cool
