Hey there lovely 💖 thought I'd roll into your inbox to wish you a great day! The sun's out here and shining directly on our faces, it's so beautiful. Stumbled across one of my favourite quotes today by Marya Hornbacher (Waiting): "I know better now how to handle loss, accept doubt, live with the unknown. I learned to wait for spring. Spring came."
Strong Persephone vibes :) So much hope. It's almost a year since AGs last day at the Walter Kerr but it's also almost time for spring again over here :) I've been hospitalized for a heart condition so things are crazy over here right now, but I'm thinking of you a lot and I keep telling everyone (including myself) that spring is coming again (with a love song). Btw if there ever comes a day when you feel lonely or hopeless or need to talk you just need to call. Love you. Here's to your Persephone's arrival 🌱☀️💐🌿
My beloved anon, I’m sorry it took me this long to answer you back, I’ve been literally crying these past nights and you know how it goes when these thoughts take control of your mind, long story short, I no longer have a job and this has been for a whole month now, as the only income I had, day by day has been driving me more and more mad. It breaks my heart to know you were hospitalised, I would have liked to be with you through that… as always, you always have the perfect words to say when I need them most to read. Please forgive me as my English is way more broken than usual. All is left to say is that the darkest hour, of the darkest night, comes right before the dawn 🌅
Love you so so much🌌

1. War and peace because I tried reading it and liked it before I discovered audiobooks but didn’t have the attention span to continue; or Beloved (Toni Morrison) because I related so much to the bluest eye
2. I don’t actually think I’ve used anything weirder than the normal “weird” things of receipts and toilet paper/paper towels
3. I think the only yellow spines I see are from a couple of babysitters’ club books
4. Either from Conan Doyle (because I like the original characterizations best) or any of the bronte sisters who deserved more opportunities
5. I think more people should read Toni Morrison (not that she is obscure but a lot of people just…don’t) or Marya Hornbacher’s Wasted (about her experience with severe eating disorders) and Madness (about her bipolar) because they are amazingly accurately written, you feel everything, I can only read bits at a time because I always have emotional flashbacks and stuff to my experiences which are similar to hers just less severe (because she almost died twice from her anorexia and bulimia), they probably are triggering and sad to other people too unless you’ve never had experience with these disorders then you get an accurate depiction

Book Lover Questionnaire
Rules: There are none. Reblog with your answers. Tag someone if you want. Or don’t. Let’s just have fun with it. :)
Thank you for the tag @myownlittlebookcorner ^.^
1. Name a book you’re embarrassed to say you haven’t read yet. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas - I know, I know, it’s arguably the most important YA book of the decade but I just haven’t been in the right mindset for it. I promise I’ll read it before the movie comes out
2. What is the strangest thing you’ve ever used as a bookmark? A sock. I tried to use my cat’s paw once but he wouldn’t co-operate
3. Look at your bookshelf. What’s the first book you see with a yellow spine? Emmy and Oliver by Robin Benway :)
4. If you could have one new book from a deceased author, who would it be? JRR Tolkien, with a proper narrative telling how Beleriand fell (oops my Silmarillion nerd is showing)
5. Name an author who deserves more readership. Tabitha Suzuma! She’s mixed POC (Japanese British I think?), she has a mental illness and writes about mental illness. Her books are pretty trigger-y but they’re so good! A Note of Madness is my favourite, along with its sequel, and I also loved From Where I Stand. She’s wonderful :) Feel free to hit me up for trigger warnings if you wanna try one of her books out - the only one I haven’t read is Without Looking Back (which I really need to remedy lol)
I’m gonna tag @slytherin-bookworm-guy @dionysiacbooks @beautifulmanicbooks and anyone else who’d like to join in :)
