im not finished supernatural yet im halfway throigh season 15, but in alot of the spn fanfiction im reading jack is seen as kindof mostly deans son. idk if its just me but i feel like dean is the keast parental of them all. mary was definatly a mother figure and rowena developed into an fun aunt. cas was definatly trying his hand at being fatherly kindof like he done for claire but i really feel like sam is the one giving of the father figure vibes. i dont know what im missing maybe it comes in the next half of the season but as far as im concerned sam is jacks dad.

-> week 11: Female Characters
So I cheated a bit, since it's still mainly Destiel. But I love the female spn characters! They are all awesome and that's why they (as always) save the day here :D
-----
Dean is pretty nervous. He knows that he is safe here, but that doesnât help his nerves at all. What if everyone would laugh at him?Â
It takes another deep breath, before Dean knocks on the door. He is glad the Impala didnât reveal him, before he could calm down at bit. While Dean waits for the door to open, he thinks about running away.
âDean?â
Okay, too late now. He nods at Jody and her smiles falters, when she sees that Dean is already tearing up. God, he is an idiot.
âHello Jody.â Dean whispers and then she is already hugging him. Dean has lean a bit down, but he puts his head on her shoulder and squeezes his eyes shut. God, he had missed her so much. He should really visit more often.
âHey, whatâs wrong? Is SamâŠ?â Jody already asks, when Dean takes a step back. Dean wipes over his eyes and smiles.
âHe is alright, Jody. He wanted to stay at the bunker and⊠you know search for something that can save the world. After J-Jack killedâŠâ Dean stops at that, because he canât say it. He feels horrible already.
âI know, sweetheart. Iâm so sorry about your loss.â Jody says and she sounds only sympathetic not as if she is pitying him. Dean knows why he picked her as his second mother. There is nobody treating him like she does.
Like he is the son she wanted. Unlike Mary who needed so much time to accept Dean. Still he is very sad about Mary, but that is not the reason why he is here.
âThank you.â Dean mumbles and then Jody opens the door and walks back inside. Dean follows her, the house is scarily quiet. Shouldnât Alex, Patience and Claire be here?
âYou want some tea?â Jody asks, but she is already on her way to the kitchen. Dean sits down and wipes over his face again. He really feels at his breaking point by now and he doesnât know what to do.
Sam is not happy with him either, but with Castiel⊠he really fucked that up.
âDonna will be here in a few minutes. I have no idea when the girls will be back.â Jody says, when she comes back and puts the tea in front of Dean. They stay quiet for the next minutes, while Dean wonders when Donna moved in and if that means his mums finally got together?
âSo not that Iâm not happy, but what brings you here?â Jody asks, the worry to clear in her voice. Dean coughs slightly.
While Dean knows normally he can talk to Sam about everything, right now that isnât really possible, with Sam being still so angry. His next choice would be Charlie, but⊠for obvious reasons that is not in the cards either.
âI⊠fucked up.â Dean whispers, hastily drinking some of the tea, so he wouldnât start to cry over something so silly again. Jody nods.
âWell Iâm sure we can fix it.â Donna says and just like that the door opens again. Dean sighs, maybe all the girls could help him. Dean had always had some male friends like Kevin or Benny, but he always thought he liked the girls a bit better.
They are pretty awesome.
âDeanie! I knew I would recognize that car anywhere.â Donna says loudly and Dean even has to smile at the nickname. He gets up, so he can hug Donna as hell and he sees how big Jody is smiling.
âHey Donna. I missed you.â Dean mumbles, holding that hug a bit longer as well. Donna ruffles his hair and Dean has to chuckle at that.
âWell your fault for never calling, buddy.â Donna says and then she sits down on the armrest on the couch Jody sits on. Dean smiles when he sees that Jody is holding Donnaâs hand now. He decided not to say anything, but he sees Jody nodding at him.
âYeah I know.â Dean says, swallowing the lump in his throat down. Somehow alone the presence of Jody and Donna helps, but Dean still feels like the worst person on earth.
âSo what bring you to us?â Jody asks and Dean looks over to the big wardrobe. There are a lot of pictures on it from Jody, Donna and⊠well their girls. Deanâs heart aches for a family like this.Â
âI⊠I think I broke up with Cas.â Dean says, eyes filling with tears again, because Castiel was the best thing that happened in his life and he was so stupid and fucked it up again. Jody gasps and Donna seems just as shocked.
âWait you and Cas were a couple?â Alex asks and Dean turns around to see her standing in the doorway. Patience behind her waves hesitantly and Claire smirks. Dean is so glad to see the girls, that he forgets everything for a moment.Â
âYeah.â Dean says and he was really afraid, that maybe Claire would hate the idea, but know he isnât sure why he ever thought that.
âAnd you fucked it up?â Claire asks, Alex shoves her for that but Dean nods. Somehow he was always sure that would happen, but not like this.
âI uhm⊠threatened to kill Jack for⊠you know and wanted him on my side. He left.â Dean says and then there are the tears again. God he is pathetic. Alex puts a hand on his shoulder, now standing behind him, while Donna holds his hand.
âHey Dean, itâs okay. Iâm sure he will understand, if you apologize.â Jody says, but Dean shakes his head. He had one good thing in his life and fucked it up like this. Of course he loves Jack like a son as well, but he was so angry andâŠ
He doesnât know what to do.
Even Claire is now stroking over his hair. Dean doesnât deserve this. He is the one who fucked up. Before somebody can say more Dean, gets something out of his jacket. He puts the little box on the table.
âYou⊠wanted to marry him?â Jody asks and Dean nods, sniffling quietly. He had bought the rings months ago, waiting for a good opportunity.Â
âAt least you have taste.â Claire grins, when she opens the box. Dean shoves her a bit away, before Donna is already cuddling him again.
Dean knows how badass each of this woman is. Hell he is sure Jody can kill a vampire faster than anyone, Claire is the most fearless person he knows, Donna can handle every weapon perfectly, while Patience is still shy Dean knows she is awesome as well and Alex⊠well she keeps them all mostly sane, but Dean also saw how she fights.
Still sometimes, he just needs to be with them. Just for⊠chick-flick moments. Jody told him ages ago, that would be okay.Â
So he sits back and lets them fuss over him.Â
*
âSo Dean and Castiel huh?â Donna says when she washes the dishes next to Jody, who is drying them. Jody chuckles.
âKinda obvious donât you think. Iâm glad he finally told us. Even though itâs only under this circumstances.â Jody answers and Donna nods. They had always seen how their boy looked at Castiel.
âJust glad it didnât take us this long.â Donna grins and Jody kisses her cheek. Just then the doorbell rings. Donna shrugs and then wanders over to the door.
The girls and Dean are still on the couch, obviously cuddling while watching a movie even though Dean would for sure never admit it. Donna knows how cuddly the boy can be.
âCastiel?â Donna asks, when she opens the door and sees the angel standing there. He doesnât look much better than Dean, obviously worried.
âI wanted to talk to Dean.â Castiel says, but it sounds more like a plea than a command. Donna isnât sure what to do here.
âHow do you know he is here?â Donna asks and Castiel sighs.
âI know how much he cherishes you all and he considers you family just as much as he does me and Sam, so I thought he would hide here and devour Jodyâs food.â Castiel says, a small smile on his face now. Donna almost melts.
âAnd⊠Jody called me.â Castiel admits. Donna laughs.
âYou are right. But he is⊠hurt. And Iâm sure you are as well.â Donna says and Castiel nods. Jody comes over to them.
âOkay here is the planâŠâ Jody starts, bringing Castiel to the kitchen and then calling for Claire, glad Dean is still so out of it, that he is almost fascinated with the movie.
*
âDean?â Alex asks, before she puts a new bowl of popcorn down. Dean looks to her on the other couch, the movie just ended.
âYeah?â Dean asks back, reaching for the bowl, while Claire tries to do the same.
âBut you still love Cas right?â Alex wants to know and Deanâs good mood is just gone like that. He still feels horrible.
âOf course⊠I wish I could take the words back. I was just so angry because of my mum and somehow I always lose it over her.â Dean whispers, almost hugging himself. He wants to pray to Castiel, ask him to come back, but he doesnât.
âAnd you still want to marry him?â Claire asks now, opening the small box with the ring again. Dean nods again. God he had imagined them marrying so many times by now. How he would kiss Castiel in front of their friends, putting the ring on him.
âYeah.â Dean mumbles, taking the box back.
âAnd you will help him to find Jack, am I right?â Donna asks, ruffling Deanâs hair again. Who is still looking at the dark TV.
âI would do anything.â Dean says, while Donna nods.
âHow about you turn around, Dean.â Jody says and when Dean does, his eyes almost fall out of his head. There is standing Castiel, eyes wide and he watches the box in Deanâs hand.
âCas?â Dean asks and just as he gets up, Castiel is already hugging him.Â
âYes Dean of course.â Castiel says and he kisses Dean right there. Dean can hear the girls around them cheering, but he focuses only on Castiel. He isnât sure if Castiel just said yes to marrying him, but for now he is just glad to hold him again.
âHow did youâŠ?â Dean asks and Castiel strokes his cheek.
âWell lets say you have the best friends in the world, hm?â Castiel grins, while everyone starts to laugh again. Dean nods.
He knows the ladies are the best thing in their lives. No matter if they help them out on a hunt (and saved their lives more than once) or if itâs about something like this.
Dean can always count on them.

Adventures in the Slow Path {Part Ten//Hundreds of Our Closest Friends}
Saturday rolled around pretty quickly. Â It was a start to a very wonderful life. Â Rose wasnât extremely happy to be sharing her engagement announcement with all of Vitex and the press, but she knew it was what had to be done as Pete and Jackie Tylerâs daughter.
Rose sat on her bed and began thinking about her life growing up on Powell Estate. Â She had lived there her entire life, until she met the Doctor at nineteen. Â After she met him, she considered the TARDIS her home. Â She lived a simple life, Mickey being her best friend and first love. Â She was happy and although Rose knew that her mum missed her dad, she knew her mum was happy too. Â After watching her dad die in that street, she realized that no matter what her mum thought about her dad, she would never let Roseâs image of him be anything other than wonderful. Â
Going back a second time and being there with him, letting him figure out who she was and giving him that second chance her mum didnât know he had, had helped her mum to realize the loss of him. Â Her husband loved her and cared for her. Â Now, she had that. Â After meeting this worldâs Pete, Rose discovered that he was harder than her other dad. Â He had seen more, he was more jaded. Â After Cybermen had taken his Jackie, he had lost what her mum had lost. Â The love of their lives. Â Rose knew what it felt like to lose the love of your life. Â And all three of them knew what it was like to get them back, albeit not in the same fashion, but in a way that worked for them.
Rose's thoughts were disrupted when the Doctor walked into the room.
âYou okay?â He said.
âYeah, fine. Â Whatâs up?â
âJust coming in to get my tux,â he shuddered slightly when he said the word.
Rose smiled knowingly. Â âI always did love you in a tux, ya know? Â Even though bad things happen when youâre in one.â
âYou do, Ms. Tyler? Â And whyâs that?â
âBecause you look so sexy,â her tongue poked through her teeth and she made her way to her fiancĂ©.  She put her arms around his neck and kissed him passionately.
The Doctor cleared his throat, âWell, yes. Â I suppose Iâm not all that bad looking in a tux, am I?â
Rose remained firm in her current position, âNo, not at all bad looking. Â Well, you know what, actually, I prefer you out of a tux, with nothing on at all. Â Makes it easier to do this.â
Rose pushed him on the bed and removed the boxers he had on. Â She hadnât yet started getting dressed, so all she had on were her bra and knickers. Â The Doctor hurriedly removed both of them and she climbed on top of him.
âThatâs better, isnât it?â
The Doctor didnât fall asleep, but Rose had. Â Legs entwined with his and her head on his chest. Â He kissed her forehead and remembered his time without Rose. Â In his best estimate, it is not advisable to go without Rose Tyler in your life once youâve met her. Â Itâs simply heartbreaking. Â
He had Martha and Donna, but they werenât Rose. Â They helped him cope, but it wasnât the same feeling he had when Rose was around. Â The Doctor thought that might have been the biggest issue for Martha. Â She wasnât Rose and he was trying to fill the emptiness he had without her, and Martha, or rather no one, could fill that void. Â Martha wanted to do that and couldnât. Â Donna knew she couldnât and understood. Â No one can replace the love of your life. Â Even a life as long as his.
Rose stirred. Â âHi,â she said.
âHi,â he smiled his winning Doctor smile. Â âReady to get clothed and get going?â
âYeah. Â I think so,â she said, stretching, âThank you for earlier. Â I needed that after the week weâve had.â
âAnytime,â he chuckled. Â âDonât act like I've done you a favor.â
âOh, but you did. Â That is always a favor to me,â she winked and they both laughed.
Rose went into their en suite and slipped on the blue dress she bought at Cover Up. Â It was in a protective bag, so the Doctor hadnât seen it yet. Â She put on black stockings with black high heels. Her hair up in a bun using a few bobby pins.
She found herself wearing less makeup the older she got. Â She wasnât sure if it was because she knew the Doctor didnât think she needed it or if it was because she felt confident enough not to have to. Â Maybe a combination of both. Â She opted to just wear a little mascara and lip gloss.
As she walked out, her date was standing there looking as gorgeous as ever. Â He had on a traditional black and white tux.
âYou look gorgeous, Rose. Â TARDIS blue? Â Perfect.â
âDonât look so bad yourself, handsome.â
He bowed his arm, âShall we?â
âWe shall.â
They were advised by Jackie, the one-woman party-planning committee, to arrive fashionably late, so that they would be the centre of attention. Â They both commented how they would be the centre of attention regardless, considering the party was for them, but Jackie would have none of that.
They arrived at the Tyler Mansion at about fifteen past seven.
âPerfect timing, Sweetheart. Â Donna and her family are here. Â They will be sitting at your table in front. Â After you get settled and do your meet and greet, your dad will announce the big news. Â Donât forget to offer a dance with the investors and such.â Â She looked to the Doctor. Â âEspecially, you. Â The lady investors love you, so woe âem.â
Jackie walked away and back to Pete, as if her requests were completely normal.
Rose walked around, greeting everyone she saw, as did the Doctor. Â Rose counted at least seven promises to dance and after they met up at the table with Donna, Shaun, Wilf and Sylvia, the Doctor counted fifteen promised dances.
The room became quiet as Pete made his way to the podium.
âGood evening, Vitex employees, investors and family. Â As you probably know, I am Pete Tyler, owner of Vitex, Incorporated. Â My wife, Jackie and I have asked you here today to announce some very exciting news. Â Our daughter, Rose, has agreed to a proposal from Doctor John Smith. Â The wedding will held in a private ceremony in five weeks time.â
The room erupted with excited chatter. Â Everyone, it seemed, was approaching the Doctor and Rose to congratulate them on their upcoming nuptials. Â Trying to make her way through the crowd, the Doctor spotted Marie and a man she looked quite similar to.
âIs that Owen Harper?â The Doctor asked Rose.
âYup, thatâs him.â
Finally, Marie made her way to the couple.
âDoctor, Rose,â she nodded to Rose, âcongratulations again. Â Rose, you know my brother Owen. Â Doctor, this is my brother, Owen Harper. Â The invitation said I could bring a plus one.â
âOh, that is great. Â Nice to meet you, Doctor Harper.â
âItâs Owen, mate.â
âRight! Â Okay, then. Â Did you bring any of the your other team? Â Gwen, Toshiko, Ianto, perhaps?â
Rose had told the Doctor of Peteâs World Cardiff Torchwood team, but said there had been no Captain Jack Harkness in the company on record. Â But of course, he had met the other Gwen and Ianto.
âI believe Pete invited them. Â They must be here somewhere. Â Gwen brought her husband, Rhys,â he said, with a grimace.
Right on cue, two faces the Doctor recognized joined the group, along with a woman and a man they had never met. Â
The woman he recognized as Gwen spoke first. Â âCongratulations! Â Iâm Gwen Cooper-Williams. Â This is my husband Rhys,â she said extending her hand for a shake and pointing to Rhys with the other. Â âI work with Owen at Torchwood Three. Â I run the place now. Â Weâve heard so much about you. Â And itâs nice to finally see you in person, Ms. Tyler.â
âCall me, Rose. Â Heâs just called the Doctor,â Rose smiled, shaking her hand in return. Â âYou must be Ianto Jones. Â Pleased to meet you,â Rose said to the handsome stoic man.
âYou as well, maâam.â
âNo use in getting him to call you Rose. Â He calls all of us âmaâamâ and Iâm only slightly older,â the other woman they didnât recognized finally spoke up.
âYou must be Toshiko Sato,â the Doctor extended his hand. Â He then realized he had met her before, albeit briefly and with a different set of eyes. Â He was dealing with the Slitheen invasion and she was examining a pig from space.
The Doctor soon realized that Owen and Toshiko were not present during his and Roseâs encounter with Gwen and Ianto and he briefly wondered why.
âYes, sir. Â You can call me Tosh. Â Iâm the tech expert at Torchwood Three. Â Itâs nice to meet you.â
âYou too, Tosh. Â Call me Doctor or John. Â Please.â
âOf course,â she smiled, shyly. Â
âNow, for a really important question,â the Doctor began. Â âHave any of you heard of a man by the name of Captain Jack Harkness? Â American accent, bit flirty, not unattractive.â Â Rose nodded at the last description.
âNo, sir,â Ianto piped up. Â The Doctor decided not to correct him.
âNo, huh? Â Thatâs too bad, then, isnât it, Rose?â
âYeah. Â Real, real bad. Â Would have been nice to catch up with him. Â Guess he went back to America, didnât he?â
âGuess so.â Â This exchange was in a very playful Doctor and Rose manner. Â They both knew the possibility of them knowing Jack was slim, but it was worth a shot.
Donna sat in her chair, sipping on the margarita she had ordered at the beginning of the night. Â She was holding in a fit of laughter, because she too remembered that handsome man called Captain Jack Harkness.
âMay I have a word, Rose?â Surprisingly, it was Tosh that requested the sidebar.
âSure! Â Doctor, can you hold this, please?â She handed him her glass of champagne and he took it silently.
Rose led Tosh to what used to be her room when she lived there. Â It was secluded enough from the party, that whatever Tosh was about to tell her, no one would hear it.
âWhatâs up?â
âI just wanted to let you know that I know about you.â
âAbout me? Â What do you mean?â
âI know you arenât from here. Â Not this Earth, I mean. Â You and the Doctor came from another Earth. Â See, I was seeing this girl, Mary, and she worked on the Dimension Cannon team. Â She told me how you were tirelessly looking for him. Â She let slip that there was no sign of a Rose Tyler ever being born here and that one day, you just appeared and your parents said you were away at boarding school. Â Iâve not told anyone, and never will. Â I just wanted to let you know that youâre not alone in the knowledge. Â If you ever need to talk, you can talk to me.â
âThank you, Tosh. Â Especially for keeping it a secret. Â If this gets out,...â
âI know. Â I havenât even told Gwen.â
âBrilliant. Â Thank you, again. Â Iâd like to casually invite you and your team to the wedding in five weeks. Â You will receive a formal invitation soon though.â
âThat would be lovely. Â Thank you. Â By the way, the man the Doctor mentioned. Â Captain Jack Harkness?â Â Rose nodded. Â âIâve met him. Â He was an American soldier. Â Handsome, flirtatious. Â Just like the Doctor described him. Â How do you know him?â
âI knew him in the other world. Â He was the head of Torchwood Three. Â When I first met him, he was a time agent posing as a soldier. Â We met during the London Blitz. Â Called me Rosie,â she reminisced. Â âHe was a charmer, that one.â
Tosh nodded, âWell, I know heâs in America now. Â He was in Cardiff on vacation. Â I met him at a bar one night when Ianto, Owen and I went out after work. Â I was the only one that saw him. Â He seemed down. Â Said he was drinking his sorrows away. Â It never got more detailed than that, but then that night, I looked him up. Â Not for any particular reason, other than the fact that he looked different than any soldier Iâd ever seen. Â He wore a World War Two trench coat. Â I found out he was in his mid-thirties, had been in the military for about fifteen years and he was unmarried. Â Nothing too interesting about him, really. Â Just a lonely soldier.â
âWell, the Jack I knew was definitely not uninteresting. Â Thank you, Tosh. Â Iâll tell the Doctor. Â Heâll probably be happy to know that Jack exists, even if he doesnât try to find him.â
âNo problem. Â Shall we?â Â Tosh nodded towards the door.
âSure!â
The ladies made their way back to the party, where Rose had discovered the Doctor had already invited their new friends to the wedding.
Later that night, when Rose and the Doctor made their way back to their flat, they hurriedly changed into pajamas. Â Rose hadnât decided how or if she would tell the Doctor about Jack. Â Would it make any difference? Â It wasnât the same person and what happened with Donna would never happen with Jack. Â Jack wasnât even meant to be in this century, let alone in this universe, which would make figuring out his situation even more difficult.
After a few minutes of quiet reflection, she surmised it would be best to not mention anything about Jack. Â Maybe after the wedding when they had more time to focus on things of an unordinary nature.
âSo, whatâd Tosh want to speak with you about?â Â The Doctor sat down next to Rose and took her in his arms.
âWell, she actually knows about us. Â About how Iâm not from here and how I built the Dimension Cannon to find you. Â She dated a girl on my team who told her everything, but she promised to not tell anyone and I trust her.â
âYeah. Â She seems nice enough. Â Weâll let Pete know she knows so he can look out if things donât seem right.â
âYeah.â Â Rose yawned. Â âIâm headed to bed. Â You coming?â
âYep. Â Right behind you.â
