Yelena Belova Masterlist
Requested by Anon: How about Yelena and R getting in an argument and Nat comforts reader and they cuddle platonically but Yelena comes in the room and sees them in bed together and is fuming and lots of angst and maybe Yelena says something like “I’ve been second best to Nat my entire life” like how Amy March said that to Laurie
Word Count: 2.5k (longish and angsty)
A/N: I love love LOVED writing this, I love this scene from little women and I adored including it in this fic, i genuinely think you’re going to love it
"Hey baby," You greeted, smiling when you saw your girlfriend standing on the balcony of your room. Yelena hummed in response, her shoulder leaning against the door frame. She didn't turn around to face you, her gaze fixed on the cars outside.
Frowning at her lack of response, you walked over to where she was standing. The cold breeze danced along with the curtains, flowing near your bare feet. Goosebumps formed along your skin, you tried to put your feet in the sun to warm them up.
Yelena remained silent, watching you fidget beside her. Her eyes shifted to where your hand was fidgeting with the hem of your shirt. Her gaze trailed up to the bandaged gash on your arm, staring at the spots of blood seeping through. She blinked in surprise when you spoke, interrupting the silence.
"Is something wrong?" You asked timidly, trying to play off your injury.
You turned slightly so she couldn't see your arm. Her eyes met yours, raising an eyebrow at the question. You sighed, running your hand lightly over the bandage on your arm.
"Lena, it's fine." You assured her, trying to smile up at her. You hoped it might be enough to crack even the smallest of smiles out of her. But she remained cold, staring at your injury. You held your arm behind her back, moving a step closer to her.
"It's fine." You tried again, reaching your healthy hand forwards to take hers. Yelena flinched away as if you'd burned her, taking in a harsh breath before moving away from you. She huffed as she sat down on the bed, turning to look down at her hands. You slowly moved to sit beside her, opening your mouth to speak before you heard her voice.
"It's not fine." She muttered angrily, quiet enough that you had to strain to hear her. Sitting down next to her, you moved your left arm away so she couldn't see it. You tried to take her hand again, sighing as she moved away from you as quickly as before.
"It was just an accident." You tried, hoping she would see the situation the way you saw it. But she didn't, frowning and turning her head to glare at you. You winced under her gaze, biting your lip tightly before looking away.
It truly was an accident. You were training with knives, Natasha was teaching you close combat. You didn't know how it happened, one moment you were training with her, the next she was clutching a towel tightly to your forearm and calling medical over to you.
Yelena hadn't been there, busy on a mission while you were bleeding. She only saw you now, having heard about the incident from Natasha the second she arrived. She didn't go to see you, rather returning to the room you shared with her, staring out the balcony.
"There shouldn't be accidents where you get hurt," Yelena whispered angrily, her voice lower than you were used to hearing it. She hurried off the bed, pacing in front of the bed, her hands hastily pulling out the ponytail in her hair before retying it.
"Lena," You tried again, hoping the nickname you called her by might soften her. "Accidents happen, it's alright."
Her glare towards you hardened, her hands running through the tangled hair in her ponytail. Your comment made it worse, you winced as she stopped pacing. A lecture on your safety began, all over again. Another lecture on how you were careless with your safety, reckless for no cause, getting hurt for no reason.
You thought there might eventually be a time when you'd get enough of these lectures. But after every single incident, every mission has gone slightly south. Worry was fine, even overprotectiveness, but this? This was exhausting.
"I don't need my flaws to be pointed out all the time." You hissed, interrupting her heated rant about your flaws. She flinched at your tone, frowning and stepping back from you. Her arms crossed over her chest defensively, tilting her head in anger.
"If there weren't so many," Yelena said, raising her eyebrow. Words spilled from her before she had a chance to stop them. Regrets always came before she could stop them.
"I wouldn't have to."
You drew back, your harsh facade falling at her words. Turning away from her, your arms wrapped tightly around your midsection, hiding the flaws you were so sure she hated. You recoiled into yourself, clenching your jaw as if her words had physically hurt you.
Getting up, you quickly tried to leave the room, missing the way she had regretted her words and tried to follow you out. In your haste to leave, you didn't notice the tears in her eyes were identical to yours. The door slammed shut behind you as you hurried away from her.
Your feet padded across the ground, nearing the door to Natasha's room. Unsure where else to go, you fidgeted with the hem of your shirt as you thought it over. There wasn't anywhere else in the compound you wanted to go. anywhere else you would face pity and questions, this was the only place devoid of either.
Raising your hand to knock, you moved back in surprise when the door opened. Your eyes widened when Natasha stood there, concerned and a little worried at your state. Without needing an explanation, she opened the door wider for you to come in.
Grateful for the silence, you stepped inside, fidgeting nervously in the center of her room. The redhead closed the door behind her with a soft click, waiting for you to explain. She sat down on the bed, leaning back against the headboard, patting the space next to her.
"What happened?"
It was all it took for explanations and apologies to fall from you. You sat down beside her only to be clutching onto her while you held your tears back. Words and hopes continued to spill even while she tried to comfort you. Her touch and her words helped you calm down enough to see the situation.
You weren't at fault, not entirely, Yelena should have backed off when she saw you were upset. This wasn't an issue big enough to fight over, let alone leave her over. You wanted to make up with her, but her words still rang in your mind when you tried to leave Nat's room.
Instead, you stayed the night, seeking comfort in your friend rather than Yelena. Her hands ran through your hair as you slept, providing you with the comfort you needed to soothe you from your nightmares. All the while you found some peace, Yelena remained alone.
The bed was far too empty without you for her to even consider resting in it. She wouldn't let herself outside the room, scared she might see you again. Scared you might say something which would hurt her far more than she hurt you.
It was never her intention to hurt you, let alone make you upset enough to leave. She could hardly help it when you were hurt, let alone when she wasn't there with you. a part of her was always scared that her abrupt absences would eventually force you away from her.
Her absence was solely to clear her past, it was never more important than you. It was that she found it hard to rest when there was still something to be done to relieve her of the chains of her past. She couldn't find it in herself to live in this delightful dream of love you created when she still saw herself as a monster.
Apologies still needed to be made. Not now, not when she could barely look herself in the mirror, not when you didn't even wish to be in her presence. For the morning she would wait, till she could share her fears without the worry of your absence.
As the morning light leaked into her room, she met it with a sense of dread. Yelena dragged her feet over to your room, fidgeting with her shirt as she stood in front of Natasha's closed door. She knew it was where you would go, where you would seek comfort when she wasn't there.
It hurt sometimes, to see you so comfortable with her, to see you care for her so much. But she always passed it off as a close friendship, knowing she would always be the one you seek. She licked her lips, knocking lightly on the door, waiting for you to answer.
Moments of silence passed, bringing her into more nervousness. She listened for any sign you were there, the rustling of bed sheets, the sound of your footsteps. Silence, even as she knocked a second time. A part of her was scared she had hurt you too badly.
Nothing could hurt her more than seeing you seek solace in Natasha's touch, seeing you wrapped in her arms, breathing on her neck. You wanted to be there, leaving Yelena to be with her. It hurt more than the words she said to you
You stirred at the disturbance, groggily pulling away from the arms holding you. A frown covered your face when you noticed it wasn't Yelena holding you. Moving away from Natasha, you rubbed your eyes while you looked around the room. Your gaze landed on your girlfriend, a smile almost forming before you saw her heartbroken expression.
"You went to her?" She asked, her voice just above a whisper. Her words, yet simple, were laced with insecurity which was rooted long before she met you. An insecurity that she would always be the second choice, that everyone would choose her sister over herself.
"Lena," You began, throwing the covers off the bed, moving towards her. She raised a hand, stopping your motions as a troubled expression passed her face. Shaking her head, she moved nearer to the door, away from you. You frowned, walking towards her, whispering her nickname as a soft prayer.
"Don't call me that," Yelena said angrily, her eyes snapping up to yours. They softened for a moment, seeing the hurt in your expression. She came to apologize to you, ready to beg for you to stay with her. Seeing you with Natasha, pushed all of her good intentions to the back of her mind.
You licked your lips, glancing from Natasha to your girlfriend, you hoped you could still call her that. You knew she came here to apologize, you could see it in the way she shifted her feet, not wanting to leave before finishing what she came here to do. You reached a hand towards her, hoping she would take it. She pulled away from you as if you'd burned her.
"Stop doing this to me." She muttered, shifting away from you. You frowned your hand coming up to brush her cheek. Her head leaned away from you, her hand coming up to yours, holding it at a distance from her skin. You tilted your head curiously at her words, guilt still gleaming in your eyes.
"Doing what?"
"This," Yelena gestured to your hand reaching out to her, pulling away from you. "Pretending you love me when you want her."
She thought your love was fake, where you never pretended, you never lied to her, not once, not even when you were sure the truth would hurt her. She had been fed enough lies to last lifetimes, you didn't add to that. Now she thought you were pretending to love her when everything was true.
She doubted it, your bright grins, your assurances of your love, your words, your actions, everything. The breakfast in beds, the nights you'd spent awake while she was working just because you didn't want her to be alone. The hours you'd spent worrying when she went on missions because you weren't there to protect her.
How could she doubt you?
“I’ve been second best to Natasha my entire life." Yelena continued, almost oblivious to your stare. Her hand ran through her rough ponytail, her gaze flitting from you to her sister. The redhead sat on the bed, looking disheveled, her eyes staring down at the sheets. Catching her gaze, she hurried out of the room, giving you some privacy
"I don't want you to pretend you chose me instead of her." She said, licking her lips as she backed away from you. The silence in the room prolonged as she waited for you to speak. A part of her was hoping you would argue with her, tell her that you chose her first.
But as your silence continued, she began to doubt herself. She watched your expressions closely, wishing to read your thoughts rather than wait for you to voice them. Your emotions were hidden from her, conflict showing across on your face yet your true intentions even she could not read. She began to leave you to your silence when you took her hand.
"Wait," You whispered, her wrist grasped tightly in your hand. You knew she could break free of your grip and leave if that was what she wanted. But she didn't, she stood there, her back turned to you, waiting for you to fight to stay.
"You aren't second to Natasha," You began, furrowing your brows as you tried to compose your thoughts. "I only came to her because I was scared of losing you."
At your words, Yelena slowly turned around, her emerald eyes raking over your features, trying to spot a lie. You let her search, knowing she would find nothing but the truth. You tugged her closer to you, a faint smile crossing your lips when she let you.
"Lena, falling in love with you was never a choice," You said, reaching for her other hand and pulling her closer. Her eyes met yours, a genuine smile crossing your face when she didn't look away. Your thumbs ran across the skin of her knuckles, feeling the skin under your fingertips.
"Staying with you is a choice I will always make."
Her fingertips trailed up your arms, a smile gracing her lips, her hands coming up to your shoulders before tugging you closer to her. Your arms wrapped around her waist as she buried her face in your neck. Your words had calmed even the greatest of her insecurities. Your touch brought her most golden desires to life.
There was much to talk over, many storms to calm, but for now, you could find salvation at this moment. You knew she forgave you, and would never doubt your love for her again. You never had a reason to doubt her, you never will, not as long as you could feel her care for you.
You could feel it when she breathed in your scent, her lips meeting the base of your neck. Your skin burned under her touch with such a warmth you had never felt before. The feeling new but in no way unwelcome, her touch reassuring your safety and her love. She showed you she loved you with the way her lips danced over yours, the way her hands tugged you closer to her, all because you chose her.

My Forever

World Turned Upside Down
Yelena Belova Masterlist
Requested by @normanijauregui
Summary: Never did you think you’d be marrying someone you loved more than anyone. But here you were, standing in front of the love of your life, promising her your forever
Word Count: 3.8k (beautiful and soft)
A/N: I loved writing this, so much, like a little too much. Honestly you’ll love it
Shining light bathed the room, reflecting off of the countless mirrors before landing on you. Your white dress glowed in the light, complimenting your face perfectly, as you examined your appearance. A bright grin crossed your face when you looked at yourself, finding yourself near flawless. Just as the day was supposed to be, you looked perfect for it.
Wanda sat on the ottoman in the room, watching with a soft smile as you twirled for her. She gave you a supportive nod, laughing when you looked back into the mirror, obsessed with fixing any flaw you could find. Your hands smoothed over your hair and your dress, making sure nothing was out of place.
It was funny, everyone told you how much doubt you were supposed to have on your wedding day. The cold feet, the pacing, the anxiety. But you were sure, confident she was who you wanted. Yelena was beyond perfect for you, nothing about her was a lie. Loving her for the rest of your life was a dream you planned on making come true.
"No doubts? That's a bit of a surprise." Wanda commented, chuckling at the surprise on your face. Your thoughts weren't exactly quiet, you shouldn't be surprised she managed to pick up on them. You turned back towards the mirror, fixing a strand of your hair while watching her.
"What's there to doubt?" You asked, fixing the final strand and sitting down on the chair near the vanity. You turned to face her, watching her shrug casually, her hands smoothing over her maid of honor dress.
"After everything that happened, I'm surprised you're not scared." She stated, trying to drop the statement as casual, despite the undertone of worry in her voice. You sighed, hands fidgeting in your lap silently as you thought of a reply.
"I thought I'd be scared too," You confessed, a smile crossing your face when you looked at the engagement ring adorning your finger. "But I'm not."
Wanda tilted her head to the side, curious at your answer. She couldn't understand how you weren't scared after everything. Glancing at the clock, she noticed she still had a few minutes left till the ceremony started. She wanted to ask you, even if the question may not be welcome. Your immunity to your fears mystified her.
How could you not be scared to love someone so deeply when you'd drowned the last time?
"How so?" Wanda asked, biting her lip tightly.
You leaned back in the chair, thinking the question over. You didn't seem to take offense to her curiosity, merely being patient instead.
"With Natasha," You began an involuntary wince on your face at her name. "I was always scared."
You bit your lip, trying to collect your thoughts. It was harder than you thought to describe it, to even talk about her. Even now, it was hard, harder than you had expected for it to be. You knew it would take time to heal, you didn't expect it to take you years to even say her name.
"I was always scared something was going to go wrong. That something would tear apart this dream we'd isolated ourselves in," you explained, your shoulders cowering into themselves in contrast to your confidence from earlier. Your voice had lowered to a hush as if you were whispering about a secret you'd never told anyone else. Wanda looked at you curiously, silently urging you on to speak.
"With her, I was living a lie. The love we had didn't feel like it was true." You confessed, fidgeting in your lap. You felt her eyes on you, watching your movements, waiting for you to continue.
It was strange, putting this feeling into words. Whenever you'd thought about your past, it made sense why everything happened. With Natasha, you were scared one of you was going to mess everything up. The gorgeous dream you were living in was waiting to fall apart. Love in fear of its absence isn't true.
"With Yelena, it's different," You said, a lovesick smile crossed your face at her name. "It doesn't feel like a lie."
You looked down at the ground, picturing her face. The way she smiled when you entered the room; the way her eyes traced your every feature when you were with her; how her nose scrunched up in her sleep just before she reached across the bed for you. She was perfect, she was yours.
"I'm not scared; because it feels true. Loving her is a dream which I know will never fall apart as long as she loves me." You said, smiling because you knew the love of your life was just as in love as you were. If she was by your side, never would you doubt her love for you.
______________________________
Her hands went up to her bow-tie, fixing whatever could be fixed. Looking herself over again and again in the mirror, trying to find any flaw. Yelena wanted this to be perfect, the same as you. You didn't deserve anything less than perfect in her opinion.
"It starts in another few minutes," Natasha stated from behind her, looking at her watch. Her best-woman dress ruffled as she took a seat on the ottoman, her fingers fidgeting nervously on her lap. The blonde noticed her anstiness, frowning at it.
"I'm supposed to be the nervous one," Yelena commented slyly, leaning against the wall and watching her sister. The redhead rolled her eyes, smoothing off her dress. She bit her lip tightly, keeping in questions she knew she shouldn't ask.
"I don't know how you're not nervous." She muttered, hands still fidgeting in her lap. The blonde didn't say anything, knowing Natasha would say something sooner or later. For her to keep her questions in would be a miracle in itself.
"How do you..." Natasha trailed off, unsure how to word her feelings. She wanted to ask her everything. How Yelena got you to trust her, to love her after everything. How her sister felt about what happened with her relationship with you.
"Do I feel about what happened?" Yelena asked, guessing the ending of her sentence. The redhead nodded with a sigh, ceasing her fidgeting and awaiting an answer from the woman she considered to be her sister.
The question wasn't as easy to answer as Yelena had hoped. How she felt about it had changed drastically over time. She'd seen firsthand the trauma Natasha had caused you. She'd seen everything from the nightmares to the doubt in your eyes, despite the most comforting reassurances.
"I can't say I forgive you for what you did." Yelena began, trying to word it as carefully as she could. What she wanted was to let her know that she wasn't happy with what happened, but wanted to keep her as a sister. But she was afraid it was going to come out wrong.
Nevertheless, Natasha's face fell at her words, hurt showing plain and simple on her face. Despite her quick attempts to mask over it, Yelena saw through her. It would be easier to tell her lies rather than be honest, but honesty was what she needed.
"When y/n first told me, I was furious with you," Yelena stated, her voice wavering as she went over her memories.
She remembered it vividly, the tears flowing steadily over your cheeks, the way your voice wavered. When you talked, your hands grasped out to hold anything, some feeling of steadiness while emotions stormed in you. The hopelessness you felt, the anger, the regret.
"It took me a while to move past it," She continued, hands fidgeting silently in her lap. "But I began to try to see why you did that."
A light frown etched its way onto the mask Natasha wore. She tilted her head to the side, urging her on, but the blonde seemed to not be taking the hint. How could she understand the reason when Natasha couldn't? Every night she tried to remember why she gave you a reason to leave, finding none.
"And?" Natasha croaked, clearing her throat.
"We were never taught how to love," Yelena stated, a sad smile twisting the corners of her lips. She chuckled, shaking her head as she looked down at her hands. The same hands which killed innocents were the ones holding you.
Neither she nor Natasha were taught how to love someone, how to be vulnerable with them, how to keep them. It wasn't an excuse, it was a reason to sympathize with her. Growing up, thinking she could never find love, she grew accustomed to living without it.
But then you came into her life, and she didn't know how to keep you. Her mistakes drove you away.
"Neither were you." She stated, watching Yelena nod and shrug. The blonde leaned back in the chair, still watching her hands.
"She taught me," Yelena said, a smile spreading across her face as she remembered.
Yelena was even more hesitant than you to let someone in. You showed her what trust was, letting her take her time. You'd waited almost a month just to hold her hand, patience was something you never ran out of. It had taken her months to get you to trust her, even longer for you to teach her how to trust you.
"Eventually, I moved past the idea of love being an illusion because she is my reality." Yelena continued, watching a tear fall down her sister's face. She wanted to wipe it away, to tell her that she forgave her, but Natasha had been fed enough lies to last a lifetime.
A silence enveloped the room as words sunk in. A knock sounded at the door, startling both of them. It was the signal that the ceremony was going to start. A bright grin shown across Yelena's face as a scowl etched into Natasha's.
Despite all of it, she nodded at her sister, offering her arm. Yelena took her arm, walking out the doors with her sister.
Soft piano played, sunlight shone down upon the arrangements. Friends and family were arranged in the seats, a pathway reaching from the beginning up to the altar. Heads turned as Natasha escorted Yelena down the aisle. The dark tux Yelena wore shone in the light, almost as bright as her grin while walking.
Yelena made no effort to conceal her emotions, a harsh contrast from the mask Natasha wore. A tight smile had wound its way onto the redhead's face as she walked her down the aisle. The redhead gave her a nod, a small smile spreading across her face.
Surprising both of them, she leaned up and kissed her on the forehead. Natasha didn't want it to mean more than she intended it to. All she wanted was to apologize and let her know she would always be there. The words never came to her whenever they spoke. Actions speak louder anyway.
Yelena stood at the altar, hiding her fidgeting, waiting patiently for you to join her for the rest of your lives.
_________________________
A knock sounded at your door. Wanda reached quickly to open it, almost tripping in her hastiness. Her features mixed into a scowl and a smile at the sight of Bucky. He smiled at her, trying to smooth back his hair but messing it up slightly.
"He's here," Wanda stated flatly, joining you in the middle of the room. She glanced at her watch again, knowing she would need to leave in a few minutes. The least she could do was be there for you.
Bucky walked in hesitantly after closing the door behind him. His eyes flitted up to you, sighing in relief when he didn't see any anger on your face. He wasn't sure why he was still so nervous, you'd asked him to walk you down the aisle after all. Even after everything, even though you hadn't forgiven him, it only felt right.
"You look beautiful." He said, an awkward smile playing on his lips. You said a small thank you, a bit too formal for your liking. The witch still wore an angry scowl which only left her face when you glared at her.
"I should go," Wanda stood up, glancing at her watch again. She glared at Bucky once more before stopping in the doorway. Tapping her watch twice to tell you that you only had two minutes, she left. The door closed behind her with a resounding click.
Bucky stood awkwardly, unsure what to do for the two minutes. Talking with you shouldn't have to be this awkward, even though he hadn't expected all rainbows and sunshine, the silence was a hell of its own. You cleared your throat, his eyes glancing up to you expectantly.
"I want you to know," You began, licking your lips nervously. "That even though I don't forgive you, yet."
The ending of your sentence gave him a little hope. Maybe someday, some things could be like they used to. Even though everything changed, maybe he could still have you as his best friend. Someday, maybe his mistakes could be nothing but a distant nightmare.
"I still care for you, and I wouldn't have anyone else walk me down the aisle." You smiled at the end of the sentence. It wasn't the fake smile you wore around him now. Rather a genuine one; one filled with hope for the future.
You wanted his friendship back, the jokes, the movie nights, you missed all of it. It hurt, aching for a moment in time instead of a place. Maybe you could have better moments, make better memories.
"I care for you too," Bucky smiled, not knowing what else to say. He tucked his hand in his pocket casually, hiding the metal hand. His other hand wiped away a silent tear trailing down his cheek. Stepping forward, he hesitated for a moment.
"C'mere," You choked out, pulling him into a hug. Bucky let out a watery laugh, his arms circling your waist tightly. You held back your tears the best you could, a single tear slipping out of your eye. His hugs always were the best.
Memories flooded back, the first time you'd hugged him, his hugs whenever he tried to comfort you. Everything about it was nostalgic. After barely even talking to you, he was glad he had some semblance of what you used to be with him.
"Thank you," Bucky whispered in your shoulder, barely loud enough for you to hear it.
He pulled away slowly, his thumb gently wiping away the tear on your cheek. He glanced at his watch which told him it was time for you to walk down the aisle. Looking at you for silent confirmation, you gave him a small nod. your face lit up with a bright smile when your arm looped through his.
"Let's go." You said excitedly as he opened the door. He walked slowly outside with you on his arm, smiling at everyone who turned his way. The walk to the aisle wasn't far, but he made sure to take his time.
The piano started playing as you walked in, playing to the same beat as you walked slowly. Everyone turned to look at you, stunned as their eyes watched your every move. Smiles appeared on all of their faces, none could compete with how widely you smiled when you saw your fiance.
You were ethereal, your features glowing, your grin getting brighter with every step you took. The attention being bathed on you should have made you nervous, but it just made you happier. Everyone was here to watch you get married to the love of your life, how could you be any happier?
Yelena's grin couldn't get any wider, her cheeks began to ache but she couldn't stop. You walked slowly up to the altar, taking your time as a tear trailed down her cheek. She made no motion to wipe it away, staring at you the entire time as you joined her on the altar.
She opened her mouth to say something, but couldn't find the words to described how beautiful you looked. Instead, she joined her hand with yours, giving you the softest smile she could manage. You looked back at her with the prettiest grin that she had to stop herself from kissing you then and there.
"We are gathered here, today," Clint began, clearing his throat. "To celebrate this glorious union."
Chuckles came from around at the emphasis on glorious. Despite your warnings to Clint to not make it funny, he had to pull off a little stunt. Giving him a playful glare, you turned to Yelena to find her staring at you with a small smile. Grinning at her, you turned back to the man officiating your wedding.
"Between Yelena and y/n, there is a love so pure many of us can even hope to ever see. Today, we see them seal their love so true." Clint said, smiling at both of you. He gestured to the ring bearers to hand the rings. Your hand slipped from hers as you took hers.
The wedding rings were a simple gold band. It matched both of your wedding rings perfectly. You toyed with the ring as you remembered the vows you'd prepared. Yelena wanted to say her vows first, you looked up at her with a grin. Her smile mirrored yours as tears swam in her vision.
"For a long time, I was convinced love was never in the stars for me." Yelena began, taking a deep breath. Her hand reached forward again to grasp yours. Squeezing tightly, she continued, trying to keep her voice steady.
"But, you are my star; the one who changed everything I have ever believed in. From when I couldn't imagine promising to spend the rest of my life with someone, to standing in front of the most beautiful woman I have ever had the honor of loving." Yelena said, biting her lip tightly as tears began to slip from her eyes.
Never had she imagined she could be this happy. Never could she have even hoped that someday she'd be getting married to someone she loved. She loved you more than anyone before. To stand in front of you, marrying you, was a dream she had never even imagined.
Even though I might never learn why I deserve you, I'll love you. For you, I'll spend the rest of my life loving you and promising you my forever." Smiling at you, she slipped the ring onto your finger. She looked at you like you were everything she wanted from life. Now, you were.
Clint gestured to you to begin your vows, looking at you with a teary smile. Thinking over the words you'd spent nights planning, you took in a deep breath. Once, you'd thought you'd make a mess of your speech. But now, standing there with Yelena, all your worries faded.
"You found me when I didn't know if I could ever heal, ever love." You began, your eyes glancing behind her to Natasha. She gave you a small nod, a small smile on her face. You smiled back at her, looking back at your bride.
"When we met, I knew if I'd only heal if I was with you; I knew I could love only you. Through our best and our worst, I love you, Yelena Belova. You healed me and loved me when I was sure I couldn't, you showed me what love can truly feel like." You said, watching her face light up when you said her whole name.
She had always loved the way you said her name. It wasn't with scorn, rather with care and admiration. You reached forward, taking her hand in yours. You toyed with her fingers before continuing with your speech, tears trailing down your cheek.
"You promised me forever even though I might not have one. Today, I stand in front of the woman I love most, promising her my forever." You slid the ring onto her finger, hearing the rings clink together along with the sob she let out at your words. Her hands intertwined with yours intimately, she glanced to Clint to continue.
"You may now kiss the bride."
Yelena rushed forwards, her hands pulling you closer to her. Your lips met hers as your eyes fluttered shut, your hands reaching up to wrap around her neck. All your feelings came out, your love for her, your happiness, everything. It was everything you wanted, and more.
Cheering sounded around the room, music started playing for your first dance. Pulling away, you rested your forehead against hers. Your breath mingled, a smile covering your face as she began to pull you over to dance. Her hand twined in yours, wedding rings clinking together.
She laughed as she twirled you, letting the music flow around you and bring your greatest dreams of love to life. Your laugh echoed in her ears, your feet shuffling to the beat as she pulled you back in. Her hands rested on your waist, your arms wrapped around her neck.
The cool metal of the ring pressed against her skin as you swayed to the music. Others began to join you on the dance floor, laughing and talking. Only one stood along the sidelines, watching you dance with longing eyes. You caught her green gaze, giving her a small smile.
Natasha smiled back at you, wishing she was the one holding you instead of her. She ignored her wishes, watching you dance with the love of your life on your wedding day. Your happiness was something she could live with, even if she wasn't the one you were happy with.
"I love you." You whispered to Yelena, smiling as you rested your foreheads together. Her eyelashes fluttered against yours, breath fanning over your face. A smirk turned up her lips, pulling away as she twirled you again.
"I hope so," She joked, watching you roll your eyes light-heartedly. "But I love you too."
You laughed again, your back meeting her front as she continued to sway with the music. Her left hand twined with yours, your rings clinking against each other. Her face tucked into your shoulder, whispering sweet nothings in your ear as you danced.
The happiness you felt now, you wanted it to last for the rest of your life. This euphoria of dancing with her, loving her. It would last through the years, through everything.
How strangely beautiful, she'd been taught her entire life that love was a dream which never came true. While you had loved your entire life, only to give up on it when it seemed like a dream. With each other, it was never a dream, but a reality you wanted to treasure for the rest of your lives.

Yelena Boleva Masterlist
Requested by @xxxtwilightaxelxxx : Okie Dokie, from the Angst prompt, may I request 3 19 44 with Yelena please? (ends on a good note please ;_;)
3: “What would you do if I didn’t come back?”
19: “Don’t you think you’ve done enough?”
44: “How do we fix this?”
Word count: 813 (short but angsty as requested)
A/N: This is the first time I’ve written for yelena, hope you like it!
“Hey, sorry I’m late,” Yelena apologized, opening the door to your shared apartment and walking in with bags in her arms. She set the bags down and took her jacket off, she wore a thin, light blue t-shirt and navy blue jeans.
You were sitting on the couch and watching a movie, you ignored your girlfriend and continued watching the movie. You wore a dark green sweatshirt and black sweatpants.
“What are you watching?” She asked, sitting down next to you.
You scooted away, trying to show her that you weren’t happy with her. Yelena frowned and moved to sit closer to you. You sighed and switched off the movie.
“Talk to me, what’s wrong?” The blonde asked, you took in a deep breath and leaned against the counter of the kitchen, facing her.
“Where were you?” You asked softly.
“A mission, some politician working for HYDRA started stirring up a little trouble,” Yelena answered easily.
You sighed and met her green eyes. Yelena slowly moved closer to you.
“Yelena, you’re supposed to be taking a vacation,” You said, Yelena, clenched her jaw. So that’s what this is about.
“I know, I just, I need to clear some things up,” She smiled apologetically, hoping to soften your hard gaze. It didn’t work.
“Don’t you think you’ve done enough?” You pleaded, Yelena gently put her hands on your elbows, pulling you closer to her.
“I’m sorry, I just need…” Yelena trailed off, she sighed and looked down at the ground.
You hooked one finger under her chin, gently tugging her to look up at you. Her eyes were filled with guilt and unspoken apologies. She knew she hadn’t been spending enough time with you, ever since someone said that she was nothing but a murderer, she needed the chance to make it right.
“Lena, the last time we had a date was months ago, I know you want the chance to make everything right,” You spoke softly, leaning forward to touch your forehead against hers.
“But I can’t be someone you can just pick up and then leave when you need to clear up your conscience.”
“You know you’re not just that,” Yelena argued, pulling away to look at you. Your eyes were clouded with confusion, you took in a deep breath.
“Do I?” You whispered, voice cracking.
“How, how do we fix this?” Yelena stuttered, trying to keep you from crying. She cupped your cheek in one hand, guiding your face to look at her.
“I don’t know. I love you but I don’t know if I can do this anymore,” You muttered, your heartbreaking when you saw the hurt on Yelena’s face.
“What do you mean?” Yelena whispered, pulling away slowly. You dreaded how you missed her closeness instantly. A tense silence settled as you decided what to say
“I mean I want you to leave, I need some time to think.” You finally spoke after the silence.
Yelena felt her heartbreak, she sighed and walked away from you. The blonde picked up a few of her things, aware of how you were watching her, your features filled with guilt. She paused when she opened the door to leave.
“What would you do if I didn’t come back?” Yelena asked, unable to help herself from asking.
She turned around to face you, eyes widening when she saw tears were rolling down your cheeks at the sight of her leaving. Even though her heartbreak, she couldn’t help herself from walking over to you and pulling you into a tight hug.
A sob wrenched its way out of you, you started crying into her chest, unable to stop the tears rolling down your face. You didn’t want her to leave, you wanted your girlfriend back. You wanted the date nights, you wanted to wake up with her every day. It was breaking you to lose all of that.
“Please stay,” You choked out, Yelena rubbed your back softly tears streaming down her face at how broken you seemed at this moment. All you had wanted was time with her, she denied you that.
“I’m staying,” Yelena whispered in your ear. You shivered at her closeness but pulled her closer to you, hands splayed along the back of her t-shirt.
“I love you and I’m so sorry, you just wanted to clear-”
Yelena cut you off by pulling away and pressing her lips to yours. You melted instantly into her embrace, lips moving over hers. You broke away for breath, finally feeling like you could breathe properly in the arms of the woman you loved.
“I love you too, you have nothing to be sorry for,” The blonde whispered, kissing the top of your forehead, staying there until you were ready to break the hug. Yelena made a promise to herself in that moment, she promised to always be there for you, no matter what.
