Arguably one of the most important characters in this Universe, Arcade, as he’s known on Earth, is the ruler of a entertainment planet known as Battle World. From there he produces some of the biggest TV shows and movies across the universe with his immersive sets and specially grown actors, as well as put on live shows for tourists to enjoy. A particulatly popular one right now is Captain Britain, starring two locally created twins, Brian and Betsy Braddock.

Battle World isn’t where his influence ends, though. Posing as an assasin for hire on earth, Arcade concocts elaborate death traps for whoever he is hired to kill. All the footage of which is sent back home and edited for the general veiwing audience. This, of course, couldn’t be possible without help from his lovely assisstant, Miss Locke.

There are rumors circulating, though, that Mr. A isn’t simply another

Arcade’s backstory is that he was a really good assassin before he started building Murderworlds. Sad that they never show it though.

Hey, so like can the hosts of this Champions Hunger Games be Dark Gwen and Arcade? Filling the Toby Jones and Caesar Flickerman roles? Or Wiz and Boomstick, if you’re a ‘Death Battle’ fan.

(trying desperately to not get offtrack) Toby Jones?? I re-read the first book and some of the second, but I don't remember there being another host besides Caesar Flickerman.

Wait. Fuck. I looked it up. He's an actor. His character was Claudius Templesmith.

And I am now realizing that I read this entire book thinking Caesar and Claudius were the same person. My pattern recognition is a fine dust.

ANYWAYS. I can't afford the brain-worky drugs so let's ignore that. I was going to have Arcade as the announcer. Maybe B.R.O.D.O.K as a first-time host bc I just read WCA for the 736251th time and am obsessed w him again.

Most of these guys (except Arcade) don't really have the classiness to pull off the role. Everything about the Hunger Games is aesthetics. They aren't an exception.

You have said the magic word. Gwen Poole. My baby, my darling. No I will not leave her out of this shitshow, who do you take me for??

So. My idea for Gwen is that she is Kamala's stylist. This is a Hunger Games AU, but everyone has the same powers as before. So what are her powers?

Well, they're the same. She fell from the Real World, and ended up here. No medium manipulation, but all the canon knowledge. Except none of it is any use bc this is not canon and out of all the characters in this debacle she'll be the one most having a panic attack. Bc the others have grown up with the Games. She hasn't. And she needs Kamala to get out of this alive.

We never get a POV from her, nor does she share any of these thoughts to Kamala. She's just generally skittish the whole while and encourages Kamala to make connections with the other Tributes during the pre-Hunger Games (particularly ones from before 2016 that she would know of)

So that's why Dark Gwen is off the table. It would complicate this. I hope you understand??
