Caravan (Owl Painting), 84 in. x 84 in., Oil on canvas. 2012. National Museum of Wildlife Art Permanent Collection (Jackson, WY). Purchased with funds generously donated by Adrienne & John Mars. Artwork & images ©Peter D. Gerakaris. All Rights Reserved. TRAVELING EXHIBIT: UN/NATURAL SELECTIONS: WILDLIFE IN CONTEMPORARY ART
Installation Views & Museum Preview at The Huson River Museum (Yonkers, NY)
OCTOBER 13, 2023 – JANUARY 14, 2024
From Julie Buffalohead and Kiki Smith to Walton Ford and James Prosek, the artists in this exhibition represent another stage in the evolution of animal art. Wild animals have been present in art since the first artists painted images on cave walls or carved figures in stone tens of thousands of years ago. Today’s artists continue to use animal imagery as away to address humanity’s interconnectedness with the natural world. Un/Natural Selections: Wildlife in Contemporary Art, organized by the National Museum of Wildlife Art, explores the meaning of these creative expressions within the context of contemporary art. Featuring a diverse group of more than forty artworks from the National Museum of Wildlife Art’s permanent collection, the exhibition offers a wide range of styles in a variety of media, divided into four thematic sections: Tradition, Politics,Science, and Aesthetics. These realms act as overlapping chapters, investigating the ways we use animal imagery to tackle human concerns and responsibilities. The title of this exhibition is a play on Charles Darwin’s concept of natural selection from his pivotal writing, On the Origin of Species (1859). Darwin’s ideas contributed much to the development of wildlife art in the late nineteenth century, as artists began to represent animals in natural habitats, enacting natural behaviors. From Julie Buffalohead and Kiki Smith to Walton Ford and James Prosek, the artists in this exhibition represent another stage in the evolution of animal art: choosing to represent animals in alternative, unnatural spaces—spaces more often directly linked to civilization than to wilderness. So um— I realised that I haven’t done an actual introduction so here it is!
Greetings and salutations, my name is Yukio Kagarashi, though most call me Slushy 🤪✌️
My birthday is the 6th of September, which makes me a Virgo. I am currently 16 years old.
I am social, stubborn and can tolerate practically everything—
I am a hero course student and one of the big three in class 2-clown, along with @marshall-maruyama and @eli-is-worried
My quirk is called “Medication”, it lets me give others the effects of different medical drugs (and even those that are dangerous) through physical contact. The more contact I have with another living organism the stronger the effects work.
For example, if someone has a headache I can hold their hand and give them the effects of a painkiller, though too much and I could cause an overdose.
My hero name (unless I decide to change it when I go pro) is ‘Remedi’
Anyways, that’s all I have so far 😌✨

D23 2017 Expo
D23 is the most fun and amazing Disney experience ever created outside of the celebrated Disney Parks & Resorts, this event takes place every two years in the City of Anaheim. Home of the "Happiest Place on Earth" Disneyland ♡
"All the magic and excitement of the past, present, and future of Disney entertainment comes together under one roof when D23: The Official Disney Fan Club presents D23 Expo." -- The Official Disney Fan Club
This year at D23 we got array of surprises and got to see first hand new products coming to the parks and retail stores. Let's take a look at the fun new surprises coming to the different resorts.
The Disneyland Resort in Anaheim will obviously be getting a new Star Wars land as promised at previous D23 but what they didn't mention was the lands official name will be Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. Take a look at Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Showcase featured at D23
Then the Magic Kingdom will also be getting a luxury resort that is all immersive with Star Wars Resort. Both Magic Kingdom and & Disneyland will get more Pixar, with Pixar Pier coming to Disneyland's California Adventure Park and take over the Paradise Pier. Then a Toy Story Land will go to Hollywood Land in Walt Disney World as well as a new attraction Tron Legacy which I can not wait for all of this! Take a look at all Bob Chapek Chairman of The Walt Disney Parks & Resort had to announce.
Also another fun thing to see at the D23 Expo was I got to see some of the best and fun cosplay ever from disney fans every where take a look! Mulan was one of my favorites so Elegant and beautiful. Also Princess Jasmine in her red seductress outfit, I love it!
Then there was fun places to go as a guest and take some fun pictures, like the Duck Tales photo op provided by the new show launching on Disney XD. Or the Luxo Ball backdrop near the Pixar Animation showcase. Also the Pirate of the Carribean 50th Anniversary photo opportunity celebrating the attractions milestone. So many things to do and see.
One of my favorite expierence was the ability to meet an ICON.
EDNA MODE
I normally don't get star struck, Edna & Rihanna are probably the only two I totally loose it. She is ICONIC! I love fashion, design, and consumer sciences. Edna embodies art, design, and strong attentions to details. Edna Mode is everything! Edna and I talked about the new Incredibles films to how Doctor Strange needs to loose the cape. Zendaya's look at the Met Gala gave us life in that Dolce & Gabanna piece and how Luxury Law Roach is changing imagery and is a Image Architect. She also said tid bits of new collections coming to Milan's Fashion Week. Truly Honestly Truly ICONIC.
Pixar always has a lot of announcements to make and display at D23 from COCO, Incredibles, Toy Story sooooo many great films coming our way and Cars 3 feature was adorable I loved Fritter Bus ...
Disney Animation also gave a closer look at the new WRECK IT RALPH 2 FILM! Where Ralph Wrecks the Internet, URL Life will never be the same! I cant wait for that film to release I loveddddddddddd the first film soooooo much ! I do hope they expand on the Wreck It Ralph franchise and bring the characters to the resort, because Vanelope was great but lets not forget CAPTAIN CALHOUN!!! was my favorite, and is my favorite Disney Character of all time. One of the great things they mentioned at the panel was that disney princess will be in film with original character voice reunited for this film. SOOOOO EXCITED!
I am already overwhelmed just thinking about all the amazing things happening! Now lets get into things I love most Merchandise!!!! Some great things this year at D23 was a bigger presence of Disney's Consumer Products & Imagineering. My most favorite place of all where the Magic gets to come home with you in neat products. This year I was able to visit and look at the DCPI showcase and look at fun merchandise from death star popcorn makers, to OH MY Disney stage featuring fashion and all fun things.
Now I wasnt able to make it into the Disney Store unfortunately it had a 3hr+ waiting line, or Mickey's of Glendale (MOG) and I had a ton of things to see. I was able to make it into the:
DREAM STORE
Which the Dream Store truly gets the importance of coordinating lines, they get it truly since the Dream Store is operated by Disneyland Parks & Resort Store Ops Team! WHOOT WHOOT goo Resort Store Ops!! There was sooo much to see and buy! Exclusive merch to art to new minnie mouse ear headbands coming to resort in Sept! All that good good !! Honestly amazing work from Miss Mindy and her new sculptures and art, Jerrod Maruyama new hipster minnie and small world piece, Shags art piece, John Coulter's villains !!!! soo good #ded!!!! Take a look!
If you are like me then you will room the entire expo and admire all wonderful things to see from a man making a groot from balloons, to spiderman lego figure. Or even admire the gowns from Disney films of princess or Minnie Mouse uber chic Haute Collection of her own. Even having live demonstrations.
This event is soo great and amazing. This year Disney celebrated some amazing people who helped shape ABC,MARVEL,STAR WARS,ANIMATION,FILM. Such as our beloved Princess Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamil, Marvel Legend Stan Lee, Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg, Clyde “Gerry” Geronimi, Manuel Gonzales, Wayne Jackson, Jack Kirby, Garry Marshall, and Julie Taymor. All whom were recipients of this coveted award and have left such distinct impacts in their field and Walt Disney Company.
I can't wait to see all the amazing projects presented unfold and what's to come to the future D23.
Until next time D23.

Up, Rango, Frozen, Inside Out, Zootropolis.

If he’s mad, sad, etc, they become harder to control and his quirk becomes unpredictable
The crystals explosions can be triggered both by touch and telepathically
The color of the crystals are based on his emotions
If he’s happy, excited, relaxed, etc. the crystals are a light blue and almost completely transparent
If he’s mad, sad, annoyed, etc. the crystals will darken in color and become opaque

Quirk con(s):

He is not immune to the explosions

He’s pretty smart for a dumb ass-
According to his little sister’s friends he’s “hot” but we don’t talk about that
He doesn’t have a dad because his mom “got” him and his little sister from the same man at a bank (iykyk)
He looks adopted in the family photos

What’s up,
My name is Marshall Maruyama but people tend to call me Marshmallow and Highlighter.
I’m a 2nd year at UA in the Hero Course. I’m also part of the big 3 along with @elijah-azurite-maruyama and @slushydaslushy
My hero name is Pop Rock- It wasn’t my idea jsghjhdg (thanks Bella, Toshi, Sushia, Yuki, Kyoka, and literally everyone I know-)
My quirk is called “Crystal Blast”, it’s literally just exploding crystals. Depending on my emotions and how healthy I am I’m able to control how big the crystals and explosions are. The angrier and more tired I am the bigger and more dangerous the explosion, the harder to control how many crystals I make and where. The happier and well rested I am the easier it is to control the explosion and where the crystals manifest. I’m sure you get the gist of it kjhjdh
Marcy is telling me to talk about myself because I seem “Robotic” so I guess I actually have to tell you about myself now-
Uhm, I have bright blue hair, green eyes, freckles, and a scar in the inner part of my eyebrow from that one time someone suggested I should jump off of a building! Thanks, for that Bella- I got amnesia and almost forgot my boyfriend- I also cant see very well either so I use glasses. Oh, I’m also 6 feet and 4 inches tall!
Now for my “personality” according to most (Bella) I’m a manipulative asshole- I mean I wouldn’t say “manipulative” I prefer the term “over protective” According to my Boyfriend, Eli, I’m a sexual dumbass that has never heard of the word “wholesome” :’) I’m also clumsy and bruise easily so I’m constantly covered in bruises jhgdhg
Oh and if you ever catch me trying to steal your stuff don’t try to make it a big deal and ask why I’m stealing your ugly ass chewed on pencil, Yuna.
I have Kleptomania
klep·to·ma·ni·a
noun
a recurrent urge to steal, typically without regard for need or profit.
I don’t actually want your crap- I just can’t not steal your stupid pen or I’ll have crippling anxiety :) You’re not special just ask for it back. I typically have my best friend Yuki give you your stuff back though-
I have other problems but you don’t need to know about those jdjkjdjd
Anyways- That’s all I’ve got so ig I’ll just link my playlist
