I love your redesign for shaula, they really did do her wrong with that bikini

ahhh tysm for liking my shaula redesign!!! if anyone is seeing this and going what shaula design it is my icon atm. and you can find it here also <3) and its on my redbubble.

but yes like... theres a lot of really really cool things in her character design. like her scorpion braid, the fact that her braid is also a high braid (i feel like characters with a high ponytail/braid hairstyle tend to be on the chipper/sporty side so this fits well!!), the hairtie, the little star design, the black and yellow color scheme to mirror subaru.... its really really cool. but then the bikini... especially when tappei Loves to keep talking about shaulas boobs... like cmon :(( i feel like the bikini is such a waste. and even if she isnt affected by the desert this is such poor attire for the setting HAH. but yes i quite like shaula i wish her outfit wasnt like that :((( waste of potential and it does her dirty :<< (and i DO love the idea of giving her a shawl ok. shaula. Shawla...)

anyway i really gotta draw her more :o shes fun to draw.... <3 and i had to give her a slightly different outfit at least like that bikini is just :,)) and i had fun doing that last drawing i did of her yes :o !! here you can have a sketch i did of shaula during class once (and a bonus marone bc she and shaula look a little similar so i was trying to differentiate them!!):

El dominio de la filosofía y de la literatura queda plasmado en todos los diseños que crea nuestra artista. Diseños basados siempre en conceptos que, como Astrid afirma, giran en torno a la claridad, a la simplicidad y al compromiso, lo que logra una personalización y una imagen única en todos y cada uno de los proyectos que lleva a cabo. Considera que estamos rodeados de diseño, desde lo más simple a lo más complejo. Astrid Stavro ha llenado gran parte del Atlas con sus diseños- gracias a su consultora con el mismo pretencioso nombre-. Ha dejado huella en marcas como Camper, Jijibaba, en el Museo Reina Sofía, en la Fundación Miró, en baldosas mallorquinas e incluso en el 125- inexplicable- aniversario de Mahou San Miguel.

After Otto rescued Marone from the bandits and freed her from slavery, she asked for his name, but Otto dodged the question.

Even though they went their separate ways afterwards, with Otto likely assuming he wouldn't see her again, Marone was determined to meet him anew.

She went as far as to disregard her own desire to move to Flanders in favor of settling at a short enough distance from Guineb, in case Otto chose to peddle in the area again.

And due to Marone's keen nature, I believe it's apt that, although encountering Regin was a coincidence, her choosing to stay with him was not. Even if she had no way of knowing Otto and Regin were related, they share several characteristics; plus, Regin could've mentioned his family and thus confirmed those suspicions at some point.

There was a considerable effort put into earning the slim chance of a reencounter with a man whose name she didn't even know.

But there's something that intrigues me about all this. How come Marone never told Otto her full name?

Wouldn't it have made sense for her to do so, if she was so eager to meet him again? It's hard to believe that she'd simply forget it.

It's not until their reencounter in Pappelt that she finally introduces herself as Marone Lisbon.

So, what if Lisbon isn't Marone's birth surname?

Prior to their first farewell, Marone reveals to Otto that she doesn't have any family members who would mourn her absence in Guineb, the city she seems to have been born in. She's described as close in age to Otto, so she is most likely in her early twenties, quite young.

How long has she lived alone? What happened to her family? Are they dead? Perhaps she's an orphan and, therefore, doesn't know her birth surname to begin with. Or her family died when she was younger and she'd rather not bear the surname for complicated reasons.

Did they simply move somewhere else at some point in her life, for whatever reason? Or maybe she did have a family, but wished to cut ties with them? If she had a strained relationship with her parents or whoever raised her, that could be a motive to discard her birth surname and choose another at the start of her new life away from Guineb, and that could be why she only calls herself Marone Lisbon from that moment onwards.

In either case, it leads me to reflect on when she adopted the Earth Spider, calling herself its mother in a lighthearted fashion. Previously, she told the spirit, "You don't have to carry this burden alone."

Was Marone projecting? Did it remind her of herself in some way?

She saw this little creature lost and alone, and decided nobody should feel the way she did, nobody should be alone like she was.

And if that's the case, it just makes the scene a lot sweeter and Marone more admirable.

When Marone's design first came out, I saw an Otto/Frederica shipper say she looked like "bootleg Frederica" (okay, I see a bit of a resemblance but not that strong, and come on, it's not like Frederica's design is very unique) and that they'd get pissed off if there was something romantic implied between her and Otto. They disliked Marone just because of that, which is a terrible take and my girl deserves so much better.

So I thought, out of spite: what if Marone and Frederica were friends? Girlfriends, even? And what if Otto was their biggest supporter? How about that?

But the more I ponder it, the more I start to get genuinely interested in the idea, either as platonic or romantic.

Imagine: Frederica sees Marone smile and, while mesmerized by the joy she radiates, she notices that little fang in Marone's teeth and finds herself thinking it's cute... so maybe her own fangs can be cute too?! Of course, Marone would also compliment Frederica's fangs the moment she dared say anything negative about them.

Frederica would give Marone advice before she does anything rash. As they become closer, Frederica's teaser side would come out more often, which Marone would always welcome, and tease back, even.

Also, they'd definitely force Otto to take care of himself better together.

Canon refuses to feed me so I must cook, okay?

Actually, it's kinda sad we don't have any canon dynamics between Marone and other girls, because she has only interacted with male characters. But I feel like she could get along with other gals like Ram and Anastasia, perhaps?

If she ever appears in another side story, I wish we get to see that, whether it's with a character we already know or a newly-introduced one.

Sexuality Headcanon: either straight or like. she just Generally has a type (soft, sweet, poor little meow meow -) and therefore does not care about the gender of her partner.

A ship I have with said character: REGIN SUWEN/MARONE FOR THE WIN. i just think they make sense together!!! their personalities mesh really well.... marone is all headstrong and regins more passive yes but theyre also both very earnest sweet people and they balance each other perfectly <3 i also love how marones become regin's vet assistant (her love of animals too T^T her growing fond of ground dragons more after being saved by frufoo...)!! and the tsuchigumo (this little spider-looking spirit iirc from one of the otto related side stories, for those who dont know) is BASICALLY THEIR CHILD NOW.... i love their little family i hope marone and regin get happily married <33

A BROTP I have with said character: OTTO AND MARONE OF COURSE. bad luck buddies who get really headstrong <33 aaa just theyre very sweet!! and similarly to regin, otto is also. More Submissive, in a sense. so of course otto and marone balance each other nicely - and i just think marone's "number two" nickname for otto IS SO SWEET ITS SO. URHGHG I FEEL LIKE IM INHALING SUGAR FROM HOW SWEET IT IS. it makes my little heart melt T^TT and i love the backstory of their little chance encounter where they escape from the bandits trying to sell them into slavery, and then the fact that marone doesnt want to go too far from her hometown so she can find otto again!!! aaa T^TT love them. i also just really like how much otto/regins designs look alongside marone!!! her red hair vs their calmer colors and ottos green is so <333

A NOTP I have with said character: i dont really have any that im very Insistent on.... ig like otto/marone (romantic)? bc they WOULD NEVER.... otto knows his brother is head over heels for her and otto and marone give me sibling energy. they're future siblings in law anyway!!!!!

A random headcanon: MARONE. MAYBE GETS REGIN TO QUIT SMOKING. I DONT KNOW IF FANTASY WORLD CIGARETTES HAVE HEALTH CONSEQUENCES BUT LIKE. MY DUDE YOU ARE A DOCTOR. HAH. regin and otto out here with smoking and drinking respectively as their vices.... they need anxiety meds or something i swear.

additionally.... in pride and wrath if of course, otto becomes a debt slave. i like to think that marone becomes interested in the idea of saving other people from slavery / almost slavery like what otto did for her...... we know that otto saved her months before the start of like. arc 1 i think?? so its like. that event still happened in pride and wrath if. and we know that otto eventually dies in pride if.... im sure the suwens found out about his death somehow, especially if hes just not talked to them for a While... maybe marone could help find out what happened to otto? because im sure it is Worrying when the person in the family with notoriously bad luck has been Completely Silent for a little too long. i doubt pride/wrath otto would contact any of them - he wouldnt want them getting involved. but marone seems like the type that would get involved!!! i think shes smarter than she looks!!!!

General Opinion over said character:

SHE IS SO SWEET. I ADORE HER. SHE LOOKS LIKE SHE'D GIVE GREAT HUGS... I LOVE HER PASSION... i wish the best for her <3 and i think she should get to go insane. shes like... she seems all happy go lucky but her backstory of like :( being sold to bandits as slaves because the people in her town had to give some women over so the city wouldnt get attacked... and then she was there for a while and got saved by otto T^TT and then tsuchigumo stuff happens and she literally just goes "let me tell you about my (totally not tragic) anime backstory to lighten the mood!! :DDD" and then EVERYONE thinks shes bad luck after that.... poor girl :(( but also she is SO STRONG for still being so determined and passionate!! like she KNOWS otto saying he killed bandits on accident is complete and total bullshit. she knows he gave her his own money and not "bounty money". AND THEN SHE LITERALLY SAYS THAT SHES TIRED OF HIDING AWAY AND WAITING AROUND AND TAKING THE WEIGHT OF CRIMES SHE DIDNT COMMIT AND HOW "That frail lady logic isnt my thing at all!" shes so. there may not be too much to her because shes like. a Pretty Minor character. but whats there is so good with the small amount of screentime she has. she eats up every scene shes in. her like Surprising sharpness with how shes fed up with Bullshit (ottos bullshit... and going out to go and do something about the tsuchigumo situation...) is such a neat contrast to her softness too (and makes her a great character to balance out, say, regin or otto)!! shes so cool. i admire her always.

Otto clads himself in green clothes because he believes it's a calming, relaxing color. His attire is meant to diminish the risk of provoking those he deals with.

Marone's dress has a light green shade to it too.

So, I present to you the following thought: Marone's favorite color is green.

Her outlook is completely different from Otto's, though. She sees green as an energizing, motivating color, a symbol of prosperity as well. She wears it because she feels like it reflects her spirit.

Plus, isn't it cute how Marone's hair is red, which also happens to be Otto's favorite color?

Anyway, I just think that'd be a nice detail to add to the fun contrast that already exists between these two.

i agree though about the canon execution of regin/marone like!! it really did come out of nowhere... though i am fond of it because i think its cute and it Works. but yeah like tappei really decided to shove BOTH of ottos brothers into romantic relationships in two separate side stories lsjlafj for why tappei???? and TRUE like i feel like it might be easy to forget otto's flaws sometimes (bc yes hes a soft whiny merchant whos loyal to his friends yeah BUT HE HAS FLAWS...) and absolutely agree with you on her helping him by Calling Him Out (rightfully. otto should get called out.) <3 theyre great. i am very happy to go insane over marone with other people fr HAH
