My word was WATER.

W - "Well," Louis says, gesturing around them, "you are in my neck of the woods now, aren't you?"

Daniel concedes with a tilt of his head. He can't say he hadn't thought of that.

A - A part of his mind wants to reject it; the life he's led—the things he has done—not making him deserving of the gentleness. But he allows Erwin to continue, keeping his eyes closed as Erwin raises their hands between them, breathes a hot breath against Levi’s fingers as if to warm them, and places a chaste kiss against his knuckles.

T - The reality suits Louis better. It's subtle; it'll probably take years to buff away the smooth, practiced dialect that had no doubt been a choice on Louis' part. But he doesn't seem to be fighting it. Daniel's happy to hear it, if he's being honest with himself.

E - Erwin is walking the line between superior and familiar. Commanding officer and friend. Levi can tell, and so can everyone else in the room.

R - "Right," Daniel drawls, stepping up a few feet in the line. "And I guess that NDA I signed was just for my health?"

1. Three ships: Uh, yeah, I only have one right now because I don't think my brain could handle another. God knows my "Marked for Later" list on AO3 certainly couldn't, either 😅. Kylux, obviously.

2. First ever ship? In my head? Merry/Pippin from LOTR, though I admitted that to NO ONE at the time. First written ship was a female OC whom I wasn't entirely sure whether I shipped with Aragorn or Legolas...decisions, decisions.

3. Last song? I honestly cannot remember, though there was an excellent chance it was something by Within Temptation.

4. Last film? Crazy Rich Asians (only a few years late watching it, shame on me!).

5. Currently reading: Besides like three different fics—The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving. I just couldn't stop thinking about that breathtaking Sleepy Hollow art by @klodwig. Tell me I don't need to write a Sleepy Hollow AU until I finish my other WIPs.

6. Currently watching: NCIS. Second time for me, but I thought my husband would love it (and he does).

7. Currently consuming: Nothing, because it's 4:00 in the morning and I need to go back to sleep.

8. Currently craving: These pumpkin cranberry streusel muffins...which I've been craving for like a week and will hopefully make soon. They're great, but on the tart side—make sure you like cranberries if you make them!

hmm, really not sure i agree with that. i can be a smart ass, but that's pretty much where the similarity ends. BUT! i took it a few times and somehow got that one 6 out of 10; the others were So Much Fanfiction, The Weird One, Running From Your Past, and Queer-coded. so, eh. kinda weird how i got four completely separate and four the same though XD

i happen to like horns and antlers, so when i saw the festive choice i had to do both :3

WIP Wednesday

much thanks for tagging me, @dragonflies-draw-flame!!

Since i did a similar tag response to this recently, here's a bit from my second to last worked on WIP - however, i did backtrack some as the ACTUAL last section was rife with smut. then the next couple sections had a lot of OC content, sooo i skipped past that as well ^^;

Standing just within the woods, half shielded by a thick oak, was a pale boy. Even in the dark Armitage could make out the black waves of hair, the charcoal clothes, the high grey collar of a thin undershirt beneath the oddly designed tunic, the subtle glint of surely expensive calf-high leather boots. He could see the spellbinding honey brown of dark-lashed doe eyes. Ben. "Ben," the name fell off his lips like a prayer. The boy stepped back into the trees, and like a tether to his soul Armitage followed. He was at the wooded border faster than he could blink. His momentum rushed him headlong into the dark expanse without any care for where or why. Moonlight slipping through cracks in the canopy of leaves gave the other boy a dim glow whenever it touched him; a beacon to follow. Every moment Armitage caught the flash of ink-speckled skin, his feet sped and his wild heart raced.

This is from a huxloween WIP i've been sporadically working on since 2020, hoping to finish it each huxloween - yet never doing so - ever since... why am i like this (-___-)

I agree about Brooklyn - the movie is way better, and even then, it gets by on the sheer likeability of Saoirse and Domhnall because Eilis is not a very developed character - she's so blank

I remember thinking she was so passive! And in the end I didn’t really understand her dillema. I even liked the end of the movie better - at least there was some feeling there. (I think the author also liked the film ending better) I enjoyed the movie because the cinematography was so pretty, I liked the look of it a lot.

Haven't done one of these cute little chibi things in a while...

Usual wear is sneakers, jeans, and a t-shirt with a hoodie pretty common. Mine is actually a dark blue hoodie but that wasn't an option so picked black! (Also I have a black cat so gotta include that! haha)

Well, I barely have completed stories - and none that are kylux, so to make up for it, here's a scraped scene from a kylux story I'm working on, hope that's not too against the rules (if it is I'll delete it).

“This is preposterous!” The hologram of the Alderaanian envoy seems to shake in indignation. “A hundred days without sun will render the planet inhospitable! It will kill everything on it! Your highness, we simply cannot ---”

“You can, and you will.” Hux interrupted coldly. “It is not your place to bargain. Your planet led the revolution, which has now been crushed, and you will accept your punishment. Be grateful that the emperor did not kill you all.”

“I see no difference here,” the envoy muttered darkly, “if that is what’s going to happen to us, we will fight until our last breath!”

Hux sneered, “With what forces? Your pathetic self-defence unit?” 

The envoy moved as if to speak again, but Hux cut ahead: “Your planet is already locked down by the deflector shield. Your allies are not aware of your situation, and they are freshly defeated from the last battle at Yavin. Signals cannot penetrate the shield, how indeed do you intend to inform them of your.. predicament?”

Hux smiled thinly, waiting for a rebuttal, but none came. Good. It finally pierced through that envoy’s thick skull just what cards they had on the table.

“Of course, the emperor is merciful, and we do not encourage waste. Alderaan will survive. Most of the heat from the planet will be insulated by the shield. It may get a little.. chilly, but certainly still hospitable considering Alderaan’s technology. And of course, the empire is happy to trade resources should you need them, at a reasonable cost.”

The envoy gritted their teeth, but said nothing. It was clear that Alderaan was to be made an example, a warning to all systems of the consequences of rebellion.

I wouldn't be surprised if google is extrapolating your knee pain based on where you work (assuming you have the location function on your phone turned on) and your shopping purchases - like if you've bought more advil or muscle relaxants than usual lately!

I haven’t bought anything like that lately but I guess my phone knows I work at a kennel? I don’t like itttttt, technology is just too much for me sometimes
