The bold color is a departure from her traditional neutral color ensembles. It has been reported that Meghan refrains from wearing bright colors when accompanying Queen Elizabeth II to give Her Majesty the spotlight. Since the queen was absent from the reception, Meghan chose to wear a more vivid color than her usual pastels and whites.
