💗💐✨Pick-A-Card: What Is Next for You in Love?✨💐
💕 Pick an emoji (⚡️, 🌸, or 🌊) for a reading on what is coming next for you in love.
✨ Focus your intention and remain open — if none of the images light up for you, there may not be a message for you in this reading! Alternatively, more than one image might connect with you. As always, trust your intuition and take what resonates, leaving the rest.
⚡️⚡️⚡️
#1 ⚡️ Lightning ⚡️
In French, love at first sight is called ‘coup de foudre’ — a lightning strike. This picture makes my eyes water, and I get a few different impressions off it. First, someone sees you and is completely taken back. This could be someone you have met already and they felt this, but for some it’s happening soon. Someone who literally stops in their tracks and is dazed by you. It’s a frenetic energy, hard to pin down. A bit of the madness that comes with a really intense new crush.
The second option I get is that someone reenters your life very suddenly, a bit of a Tower experience. It feels that things were left unresolved between you, and it’s a situation/feelings that still keeps you up some nights. It’s a feeling like horses straining under a harness and energy built up to the point of explosion. Not a bad feeling per se, but definitely volatile and shocking.
Key words: fire, volcano, out of control, thunder, chewed straws, bitten nails, knock on the door, feet on pavement, midnight, nokia cell phone, unknown caller ID, broken glass, be not afraid, late night gas/petrol station, buzzing silence
PS If you have any feedback, please let me know! Also if you save this reading and notice it being accurate for you, I’d love to hear about it!
🌸🌸🌸
#2 🌸 Pink Flower 🌸
For this group, I get the image of someone picking flowers from the garden for their grandmother. Someone very sweet on the periphery of your life who you know or may get the opportunity to get to know soon. They feel like someone with a lot of responsibility with maybe their family or community, but always find the time for you. Sweet, somewhat shy or quiet energy. Feels like a neighbor, maybe, or a neighbor to someone in your family.
There’s hesitation here, maybe on both ends? I don’t feel major turmoil but just the uncertainty mixed with curiosity that comes with a new person who isn’t obviously mutually interested in you. Friendly without being over flirtatious. The type of person who gives you a bucket of lemons because they’ve had a bunch extra in their backyard.
Keywords: bicycle, farmer’s market, pharmacy, picket fence, down the hall, shy, hedge, grandmother, dahlias, peonies, tuna can, plum
PS If you have any feedback, please let me know! Also if you save this reading and notice it being accurate for you, I’d love to hear about it!
🌊🌊🌊
#3 🌊 Waves 🌊
This connection coming in has a feeling of longing. It feels like a period of missing someone or a time in your life that you know you can’t return to. Grief that feels a little bit difficult to place because it feels like wanting something that even if you got it, things wouldn’t feel the same because you have also changed.
I know that’s not a super happy sounding message, but this is a period where you are asked to deeply reflect on what you loved and feel you’ve lost. Allow yourself to move past the surface of yearning to the deeper questions: why did I have this experience? Where did I learn what I wanted, and what does not truly help me grow and feel safe? It may feel very confusing right now in the face of perceived loss. It’s a murky time you must allow yourself to experience and pass through, but take care not to become trapped by the siren’s song of nostalgia. There is more for you to experience on the other side of this lesson, and a version of yourself waiting to embrace new joy based on a profound understanding of these past disappointing experiences.
Keywords: sighs, mirror, fingers along water, long hair, loneliness, emptiness, nostalgia, despair. Salt, tears, egg yolk, relearning, color, passion, glorious comeback and rebirth

On Gothic
a cute helpful guide on the gothic subculture that no one asked for <3
goth music springing from the late 1970s after the post punk movement was a subculture heavily inspired by the themes found in victorian gothic literature
gothic literature:
frankenstein - mary shelley
dracula - bram stoker
jekyll and hyde - robert stevenson
wuthering heights - emily bronte
rebecca - daphne du maurier
edgar allen poe <3
some keywords that come from gothic literature that can help you spot a goth song:
'dark' 'death' 'black' 'cold' 'heaven' 'hell' 'witches 'bats' 'night' 'roses' 'blood' 'church' 'forest' 'jesus' 'grey' 'horror' 'shadow' 'sacrifice' 'tears' 'ghost' 'spells' 'cry' 'love' 'haunted' 'funeral' 'cathedral'
Some other themes in a song that can help you to decide if it goth or not can be:
heavy bass
synth sounds (the song sounds like it was recorded in an empty church)
mysterious and whimsical vocals
deep vocals
lack of a (electric) guitar
The 1980's and 90's were the peak for the gothic subculture, especially in camden market, london, england
Some bands that were prominent at the time were...
Bauhaus
The Cure
Sisters of Mercy
Siouxsie and the Banshees
Christian Death
Clan of Xymox
The Cramps
Depeche Mode
New Order
Joy Division
Alien Sex Fiend
Fields of the Nephilim
Killing Joke
The Damned
Nick Cave
Softcell
Some other goth band recs:
Boy Harsher
Children on Stun
Earth Calling Angela
Molchat Doma
Forever Grey
Horror Vacui
Lebanon Hanover
London After Midnight
Male Tears
The March Violets
The Merry Thoughts
Paradise Lost
Paralysed Age
Plastique Noir
Rendez Vous
Rosetta Stone
Selofan
She Wants Revenge
Skinny Puppy
Specimen
This Cold Night
Tragic Black
Traitrs
Type O Negative
Twin Tribes
ULTRA SUNN
Xmal Deutschland
Your Funeral
The 69 Eyes
Please let me know which ones i've missed because these are just ones that I have taken from my own playlist!
The music is the number one most important part of goth subculture and you don't have to dress goth to be goth... but it sure is fun to do so! Goth fashion holds its roots in thrifting, upcycling and sustainable fashion (buying 'goth' clothes from shein, dollskill and killstar is a big no no).
Anyone can style their gothic outfits however they like but here are some examples of different styles:
Trad(itional) Goth:
Romantic Goth:
Victorian Goth:
The styles can get very similar so let me know if i’ve mixed any up!
I’ve reached the limit on the number of pictures i can add so here are some more examples of goth styles:
Corporate goth
Gothabilly
Mall Goth
Cyber Goth
J-Goth
Baby Bat
Mopey Goth
Vampire Goth
Steam punk
To end the post i'm circling back to gothic literature by listing some films too (which are often based on the books)
Everyone's beloved: Bela Lugosi in the first adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula in 1931
The Crow 1994 which comes with a song from The Cure
Interview with the Vampire 1994
The Rocky Horror Picture Show 1975
Edward Scissor Hands 1990
The Addams family 1991 (if he's not like gomez then i don't want him)
The Craft 1996
That's all I have for now and if you made it this far thank you so much for reading and have a nice day <3
current goth song on repeat:

in honor of my backache from sleeping in my nest on the floor last night (a hardwood floor covered with a sheepskin and a throw blanket) i wanna talk about nest mattresses! in real life and worldbuilding. disclaimer that my knowledge comes from mostly online so it’s probably not completely accurate.
so! cool floor beds i found that would make good nest bases.
the type of bed i could find the most on online is the Japanese futon. it’s what the western futon/sofa bed was originally modeled after but it’s very different. it’s basically a very thin mattress (shikifuton) over tatami mats (rush grass outer layer with a foam or rice straw core). both parts are much more moveable than a western style mattress. another important consideration i think is relevant is that futon covers go all the way around the mattress and can be washed (unlike western sheets which leave the bottom of the mattress uncovered which if it’s on the floor can get gross). futons are also meant to be aired out in the sun, which helps the whole dust thing.
another cool bed type i found are montessori-style house beds. they’re typically used for young children (toddlers and preschoolers) but do come in larger sizes (the biggest i’ve seen is a full). the bed frame sits directly on the floor with a thin mattress and a wooden house-shape on top that can support a canopy/curtains (which would be super cool for a nest lets be real). some also come with bed rails and bumpers so little kids don’t fall out, which i think would also be good for a nest because it’s more cozy.
of course i must mention the “human dog beds” which gained popularity in 2022 from going on shark tank but i remember first hearing about them around 2015-ish (and of course going that would make a great nest!). it is what it sounds like.
another, probably the cheapest option here, is camping mattresses. you know what these are. super thin air mattresses with foam tops. some come in double width (better for a nest imo) but most of them are made of that terrible slippery fabric (good for camping, bad for everything else). this might not be a problem for most people but i’m autistic and i gag touching them. you could cover it with a rug or blanket but those might slip off of it due to the gross slipperiness of the fabric. idk.
the last thing i can think of are traditional mattresses that are just. thin. you could use a mattress topper but a real mattress would definitely feel better even if they’re the same height because real mattresses have a comfort layer and a base layer and a topper only has the comfort layer (=more back pain for you). consider: dorm mattresses (at least my dorm had them, and it made an amazing nest), rv mattresses, and trundle mattresses. they’re all basically the same thing just different keywords (and slightly different sizes for the rvs). my sister has slept on a 4 inch mattress for six years or so and she only occasionally complains of back pain but for occasional use it would be fine (she also has scoliosis so. could be that).
now for some quick worldbuilding notes:
i definitely think that in an omegaverse society nest mattresses would be common. i think they would mimic traditional mattresses but shorter, like rv mattresses, but have an all-around washable cover/sheets to protect from floor grossness, sort of like dorm mattresses but able to be washed more easily. i also think they would come in more square or round shapes instead of the typical rectangle twin shape. i can see them having folding capabilities like some rv mattresses do, so that people could sun them like futons to get rid of dust mites.
i can also see nest frames being a thing, sort of like the montessori bedframes, with pillow bumpers to make a more enclosed vibe. i can also see a huge market for both frame-mounted or ceiling-mounted canopies, because who doesn’t want that.
maybe houses would be built with specific nest areas in mind, maybe with softer floors like tatami vibes or carpet. i’ve heard talk about conversation pits which are absolutely so cool but i can also see the advantage in an elevated nest space. my favorite nest of all time was in a ceiling cabinet because i could see the whole room but was harder to see myself, which made me feel really safe. so maybe houses might be built with raised nest platforms, or even small ceiling lofts overlooking a larger room (i couldn’t find an exact picture of what i’m thinking but this is close:)
#happy omega thursday everybody#i made this instead of doing morning chores. sorry to the pets and also my ma.#this is a cool post i prommy#miscecanis#miscelupus#misceanimalis#alpha beta omega#omegaverse#omegaverse headcanons#omegaverse worldbuilding#omegaverse nest#nesting#a/b/o verse#a/b/o dynamics#sorry everybody who follows more than one of these tags

ahh can we get modern au benedict and mix between scenarios 3 and 10?
A/N - This is cute, thanks for requesting this, anon!
Cider
Summary - Benedict brings you comfort after a movie scares you
Warnings - Mostly Fluff
“This was not a good idea,”
“No, no it’s fine,”
“Clearly it’s not, darling,”
You cringed from the sound of concern in his voice as your husband Benedict looked over at you with worry laced on his face. With the credit rolling on the screen in front of you, you found yourself gripping the blanket that was dropped across you a bit too tightly, with the dim lights of the living room not showing the genuine fear on your face from watching the movie you thought you could stomach.
Keyword: thought.
You got your hands on the most recent horror movie that an old friend of yours is starring in. She got one of the first copies before it would be sold on the market, and since you were one of her first supporters when she became an actress, she would always make sure you got into premiers or events for any of her films. You were grateful for her, even more so since she was the one who introduced you to Benedict at a large movie premiere. His family was well known in the charity and creative world realm, Benedict especially with his paintings and canvas work.
Now 6 months later, in your new apartment that you both moved into for the first time, you were a scardy cat over a simple movie. Pathetic.
“Here,” Benedict replied, taking the remote control to change the settings of the TV. The movie was gone, replaced with a random TV show on the cooking channel as he then hopped up from the couch to turn on a few lights. With warmth filling the room again, you realized that you were in fact clutching your blanket far too tight. Almost ripping it in half.
“A change of scenery is a must, don’t you think?” He asked as he then reached over to gently take the blanket off of you. Your fingers, once they were done holding the blanket for dear life, faced from top to bottom as Benedict then laced his own fingers with yours. He kissed the back of your hand lovingly.
“I think some hot cider is still in the pot, let’s have some,” He suggested, helping you up from the couch as you were still a bit shaken. The small living room was neatly decorated with Halloween and fall decor, something you both bought on a mini shopping spree since you two were excited about having Halloween together. It was your favorite holiday, ever since you were a little girl you thought the holiday was the best. Surpassing Christmas even, there was something about the autumn weather and being able to dress up in whatever you wished to be for one night.
Thankfully, you found a husband who loved Halloween as much as you did.
Walking through your apartment and dodging the cobweb decoration that was a pinch too low over the archway that led into the kitchen. Even the kitchen was decorated for Halloween, most of it was hand towels and knick-knacks that were on the countertops and within the cupboards. Thankfully, some of your friends gave you both Halloween decorations as a wedding gift and an apartment-warming present as well, clearly reminding you of your love for the holiday.
“AH, here we are. Let’s warm this up again,” Benedict said warmly as he moved to reheat the cider that was in the teapot. You leaned against the countertop, watching your husband at work as he hummed to himself while getting the teapot going again, “I’m grateful that Kate lent up this recipe,”
“I do love our sister-in-law,” You agreed as you chuckled, “She keeps Anthony in line,”
Benedict laughed as the cider was getting hot once again within minutes. He looked over at you, grinning from ear to ear at your appearance. Sporting your pajamas that included an old college t-shirt and sweats, your long hair that needed a trim, and dark circles under your eyes, he thought you were beyond beautiful. He always seemed the beauty in most of the things that were around him, especially with you. Someone who wore their heart off their sleeve, someone who was bold in what she said in how she said it, someone who loved wholeheartedly and would expect nothing in return.
He can only pour in as much love as you pour into others.
“Pouring out some cider into a fresh mug, he handed the drink to you as you wrapped your fingers around the mug tenderly. The spicy and yet soothing scent of the cider filled your nose, making those worries and fears from the movie slip away even more while you take a long drink. The spices hit your tongue along with the sweet apple taste going down your throat.
He knew you hated scary movies, realizing you weren’t a fan when he took you out on a movie date early in your relationship. Of course, you were trying to have a brave face, not wishing to back out from the movie since you were looking forward to having time with Benedict because of both of your busy lives. Yet halfway through the film when Benedict looked over at you, he saw the wide eyes and how your hand was clutching the armchair in a death grip. In fact, one of the jump scares in the film made you almost spill the entire tub of popcorn you two were sharing.
It was safe to say that Benedict was more aware of your scary movie phobia.
“How do you feel now, darling?” He asked as you grinned over the top of your mug. Seeing your husband taking care of you over your silly little fear, made your heart burst even more as you nodded your head.
“Better now, thank you, sweetheart,” You thanked, seeing him roll his eyes as he walked over to kiss you on the top of your head.
“Anytime. Plus, you know the deal: I’m right next to you for you to snuggle with if you do get scared,” He reassured you with a smirk on his lips, though you giggled as you swatted his arm.
“You say that just to get closer to me. Remember the last time you tried that move with me on our anniversary?” You reminded him, seeing him blush as you went on, “You wrapped your arm around me while I was distracted, tucked me in a bit closer when I got spooked, and then you—“
His hand went over your mouth immediately, you giggled as he was giving you a mocked look of shock.
“I remember us deciding not to discuss that anymore, dear,” he said, though he giggled as bad as you were as you licked his palm. He threw his hand off your mouth as you laughed, though he dived in and crowded you against the counter to kiss you soundly. He always swept you off your feet at the right time. Giving you the best hug when you told him about your promotion, kissing you down your neck when you fell into bed together for the first time, Kissing away the tears after you both returned from your grandfather's funeral.
But most of all, kissing you for the first time at a Halloween party.
The End.

Platonic Sides Week Day 1: Found Family
They weren’t related.
Yes they all had the same last name. Yes they all looked remarkably similar. Yes they all went to the same high school, the same college, and currently lived in the same apartment. But they weren’t related.
Okay, two of them were related. But that was it.
The Sanders, as they had gotten used to being called, were enjoying a relaxing Saturday at home. It was approaching evening, the setting sun flooding in through the windows and giving everything a golden glow.
Virgil squinted as the light reached the perfect angle to reflect off one of Patton’s little glass trinkets and hit him in the eye, combining unpleasantly with sitting in front of the computer for the past three hours. Logan was beside him, having pulled one of the dining chairs next to the desk in order to help his friend find a job. The emo was beginning to wish he had gone into something easier, like marketing, though he was pretty sure working a corporate office job would be the death of him. He had gone for a sound production degree, however, in hopes that one day he’d be able to work for a band he enjoyed, so now he was scrolling ad nauseam for a sound editing gig of any kind. You’d think it would be easy; just type in a few keywords into the browser and hit search, but no. He couldn’t even go three LinkedIn links without finding a “we can’t pay money but we would be the perfect jumping off point for your career”.
He had initially asked his friend to assist him with figuring out how applying for a job with actual career aspects worked, because the only occupations he had had so far were stuff cashiering and waiting, stuff that didn’t require a resume or references. Logan had taught him how to format one, what information to include, how to word everything for pique the most interest in whoever, or nowadays probably whatever bot, was reading his application. The assistance eventually evolved to include keeping him calm as thoughts of perpetual unemployment and failure began to fill his mind. He’d have to add “tactile fidget tools most effective at preventing nail biting” to his Virgil journal.
The constant clicking sound of the scroll wheel was interrupted by the sudden sound of the twins shouting in the adjacent sitting area. It seemed that despite what they usually claimed, they actually did have something in common: an almost inhuman competitiveness when it came to Mario Kart. Just an hour ago they had been strongly encouraged (by the threat of putting carrots in their dinner) to keep quiet so Virgil could stay on the verge of having a migraine instead of having one, but apparently this argument was important enough to risk having their meals being tainted.
Logan twisted so he could see better, and noticed that the television was turned off.
“You cheating, scum sucking, deranged son of a bitch!” Roman yelled as he shoved his hand over his brother’s mouth, trying to silence his raucous cackling.
“Wow, what a nice thing to call your mother,” Remus snickered after licking Roman’s hand, causing his brother to immediately gag and rush to wipe the saliva off on the couch. He muttered profanely as he rummaged in the side drawer for a bottle of sanitizer.
“Hey now, there’s no need for such potty language,” Patton chimed in from the kitchen, where he had just put the dinner rolls in the oven.
“Ooh, someone’s in trouble,” Remus grinned at his brother, wiggling his shoulders mischievously as he frowned at him. He should honestly just be glad he didn’t start scream-singing Smash Mouth’s “All Star.”
“He turned off the TV so I wouldn’t win!” Roman protested, sending Virgil reaching for some tylenol at the outburst. Noticing this, Janus made a show of grabbing a carrot from the fridge and grabbing a knife, holding them up so the brothers could see them like he had the remote control to a bomb and was threatening to destroy the city. At least a bomb had the potential to be fun, in Remus’ opinion anyway.
“Jan, come on, don’t be like that!” Remus whined, clasping his hands together to beg as his friend placed the vegetable on the cutting board with a purposefully loud thud. “We promise to chill for a whole fifteen minutes, okay? Just put the dildo plant down.” Patton winced at the vulgarity but had mercy on them, reaching over to put the carrot back in the fridge. He wasn’t sure why they had even bought it. None of them liked carrots.
Janus let out a dramatic sigh and returned to stirring the caramelizing onions so they wouldn’t burn. Usually Patton was the only one involved in preparing dinner, besides the few small jobs he sometimes delegated to the others (the twins were banned from anything with heat), but Janus had gotten his law school homework done early enough to come home an hour before he usually did. Despite Patton’s protests that he really didn’t need help and that he wasn’t that tired from his frankly awful day working at the daycare, Janus managed to force his way into the kitchen with a bit of persuasion. Mainly reminding him that there was no glory in suffering, no matter what his teachers in catholic school taught him growing up.
Virgil tried to return to his search, but even with the pain medication his eyes were starting to strain, all the letters turning into one big squiggle that might as well have spelled out “sorry, but you’re really not what we’re looking for” as far as his growing anxiety was concerned. Logan noticed him gripping the mouse tighter, and out of concern for both his friend and the plastic, put a hand on his shoulder. Virgil snapped around to look at him, eyes wide like he had just been pulled out of an awful world that only consisted of blue light and filling out information that was already on his resume. He took a deep breath, trying to focus on the smell of baking bread as it filled his nose, anything that wasn’t the job search, but one can only focus on a smell for so long.
“How about we go set the table?” Logan asked, getting up from his chair before he could respond.
“But the applications! I haven’t finished a single one!” Virgil fretted, still following him to where he was taking plates out of a cabinet. He opened a drawer and began counting out forks. Patton noticed and nodded his thanks before turning back to plating the baked potatoes.
“And in this state I doubt you’ll be any good at filling one out,” Logan stated bluntly, trying to be comforting in his own Logan way as he placed plates in their proper place on the table. “You need a break. If you feel the need, you can get back to it after dinner, or I can help you tomorrow.” Lord knows Virgil would stay up until 2 AM with or without the stress, but Logan actually respected his circadian rhythm.
Virgil frowned, still feeling like he was wasting valuable time, but nodded as he set out the cutlery. He looked over to the twins, and they had gone back to playing Mario Kart. Though they had left the normal game mode and were now doing the challenges. Roman’s face grew almost as red as his fashion statement of a belt as one of his balloons was popped by a dastardly red shell, courtesy of his brother obviously, but he didn’t yell. It seemed that though the threat of being made to consume carrots was no longer imminent, they were still trying to make good on their promise to be quiet, if not out of integrity then probably out of concern for what Janus would do instead. No one wanted a repeat of the Shoe Incident. Don’t ask. Janus had them all sign NDAs.
Remus was biting his lip so hard in his struggle to stay silent that they were beginning to bleed slightly, but he just licked it away. He almost launched himself into the side table as he leaned unnecessarily in time with his go-kart’s sharp turn.
Soon dinner was ready, and Patton called them to the table as he set out the food.
They weren’t related, for the most part.
But they still sat at the table every Saturday evening, chowing down on lovingly homemade food as they chatted about their weeks, the stress fading away, even if just for a moment, as the air filled with old inside jokes. And in their opinion, it was better than any of their “real” family dinners had ever been.

the gwayupdates guide to safely buying resale tickets 🙏🏼, from @.gwayupdates on twitter
copy-pasting this thread here for ppl who don't have twitter:
regular resale marketplaces 🌟
if you don’t want to deal with a potential scam and have the money to spare, ticketmaster’s own resale market is your safest option, followed by third party resale websites like stubhub & seatgeek. the third party ones aren’t foolproof, but you can dispute sales that go wrong to get your money back. tm & third party have the highest prices because they take fees from sellers + are the easiest places for scalpers to sell. if you value saving money over ease of purchase, i’ll walk you thru how i buy my tickets.
cheapest places to buy resale 🌟
my go-to places are twitter, facebook, and reddit. i’ll go over them one by one. on twitter, i use keywords to search for sellers, usually a mix of artist name, city name, and the date. there is no set verbiage so it’s important to cover all of your bases. here are some screenshots of what my search history may look like if i wanted tix for the arlington show. note the variation i use. twt saves your history, up to 5 at a time, so usually i’ll search across diff accs multiple times a day to get to new posts first.
there’s so many other keywords you can use, as well. sometimes fandoms will make a hashtag for dates or tours, and those are great places to look. for facebook, join as many tour groups as you can. look up my chemical romance, and join tour specific ones or any buy/sell ones. on reddit, it depends on the subreddit rules. sometimes there will be specific posts designated for people to list their tickets and you can keep an eye on those. for all of these, it’s important to keep checking because for high-demand tours, well priced resales go fast too.
what to look out for before you contact the seller 🌟
look at their post history. have they tweeted about the artist before? recently, i’ve seen scammers who will change their layouts to look like a fan account, but their profile is completely unrelated, clearly bot posts, or cycles thru fandoms based on whatever tickets they are selling at the time. is their whole profile just selling tickets? do their posts sound organic and human? do they interact with people? note that actual people also do make accounts solely for selling.
another thing to look out for is wording—at some point you’ll start seeing the exact same selling tweets copy/pasted by multiple different accounts. don’t bother with those. when you spend enough time searching, you’ll notice patterns in how bots/scammers tweet.
verifying tickets with the seller 🌟
ok, so you’ve determined the account looks normal, or maybe there’s just not enough info, so you contact the seller. what now? before any kind of payment, ask for proof of them having the ticket. i’ve grown wary and now i’ll only accept screen recordings as proof, since screenshots can be doctored, stolen, and reused. i’m also very specific with what i want out of the screen recording: the seller should start in our open dms, exit the social media app, open up ticketmaster, show me their name on the account, and navigate to the ticket they’re trying to sell me. 99% of the time they’ll say yes, because they’re an actual human being who actually wants to sell their ticket for a good price. occasionally i’ve had people say things like “you don’t trust me?” or try to guilt trip me, and i just block and move on. scammers will do anything to convince you they’re trustworthy but actually show you real, undeniable proof. when i ask, i usually start with “sorry i’m paranoid of being scammed, could you please send me xyz” and normal people will understand & do it.
payment 🌟
unless you know this person, either directly or thru a friend, ONLY use the goods & services option in paypal/venmo to pay, and state in the description exactly what you are buying. if you get scammed, you can dispute it with the service, and they’ll refund you. using zelle, cashapp, or regular venmo/paypal opens you up to scams. note that g&s takes a fee from the seller, so i’ll always add 2% or whatever the fee is to my payment so they get the full amount, and i offer to do that upfront when suggesting my method of payment.
other random notes and tips 🌟
some sellers don’t like using g&s because after a certain amount you have to pay taxes on your sales. for a purchase this big, i wouldn’t risk it personally. i’ve seen people send half the money, receive the ticket, then send the other half, i’ve seen people facetime during transactions to ensure stuff goes thru and that there are real people on both sides and all of those are valid options. unless it’s someone i or a friend know, or if it’s a small purchase, i personally always use g&s and leave no room for error.
best time to buy 🌟
this next week or two will have many resellers, and then again in the 1-2 months leading up to the show. the weeks leading up to the show are when i start to do my rounds of searches every few hours, every day. it pays off.
if you’re willing to risk not getting anything, you can get great deals the night before or day of the show, even on those resale sites like stubhub or on tm itself, cuz this is when ppl are desperate to sell. i’ve even gotten free tickets before looking on twt hours before.
ok that’s all. lmk if u have any questions and feel free to dm me if you ever want help vetting someone! i want all of u to be safe and am willing to help make sure things work out for u. thank u! 🌟
again, here's the link to the original thread!!

I graduated a year ago and had a job for the 2 months and they laid me off without reason or anything because i was still in the 3 month trial period. Anyway I noticed that they didn’t let the engineers and architects reach the year, you know avoid seniority and stuff. And that was in April, it’s gonna be a year and I still haven’t got another job, I’ve done some freelance jobs here and there, but the last one was for December. I know January it’s kind of a dead month but I’m dying with it, honestly I don’t think I’ll reach the minimum payment of my credit and my car needs gas(at least it’s payed off) and I’m honestly so goddamned depressed. Somewhere I read that a lot of vacancies come out in January but I haven’t seen that many and the ones I’ve seen and sent haven’t even contacted me
Im sorry to bring all this glum to you, but I’ve seen some other recent graduate anons come at you, and you’re so understanding and aware of this economy and job market 🥹
Alas, as ever, I wish that I could make it better and tell you exactly what to do to fix it, but I cannot. However as always, I am absolutely offering you a cup of your preferred beverage, a baked goodie, and a chance to sit at my Internet Grandmother Kitchen and get some things off your chest, so yes. It does suck a lot out there and while it sounds cliché, you gotta do your best, keep trying, and see what comes along.
Hopefully you have other resources or support systems, but if you are in the US and need assistance in basic stuff like paying bills and getting gas, please think about looking into the federally funded 211 service:
Not enough people know about this, and it's way better than hoping that people on the Internet can help you out with bills every time you hit a crunch (although if you do have generous friends, I myself have been saved by them a time or two -- absolutely no shame or judgment here!) But they literally exist to help people find funds and resources for situations like this, and even if you're not in the US, I advise looking for similar government initiatives or programs. They might or might not exist (alas, I am American so I only know our version) but there should be at least something like this. Try searching "211 service equivalent for [country]" or similar keywords?
And of course, if you are reading this and ARE in the US: look into 211! Please don't drive yourself crazy with fear or stress! There are definitely stopgap services and funds that exist for just this sort of thing! Please do use them. I am sending hugs.

Moody Monday I
🌹Hello Campers! Here are the responses we got for our first activity for camp NaNoWriMo. Thank you everyone who participated, if you still wanted to submit a response please do so- it's never too late to join in one of our activities. If you're not part of the club and still want to answer these questions, then reblog this post with your answers.
🌹Also huge thank you to @caveatscriptor for creating the graphic
🌹 Member responses below the cut:
🌹 @jay-avian
1. Honestly, a little bit of both. I do a general outline of the main plot, as well as any worldbuilding needed. And once I start writing, I let the pacing flow naturally and the characters flesh themselves out 2. Current WIP - "The Court Magician": Forest man on house arrest must save the world from the fae 3. (not sure, will come back) 4. Fantasy, Adventure 5. Reluctant Chosen One
🌹 @mayonayys
1. I'm definitely a planner! I enjoy a bit of chaos, but need structure for most things, and that includes writing. An example of my most extreme planner moment: I was writing up fake advertisements for my in world D&D newspaper, had to give the businesses addresses... So I stopped halfway through and had to plan out most of a market district map, which will probably never be used again 2. Aura Sighted: Gifted-kid burnout syndrome mage has to figure out how to save her sister from a psychotic King, while staying out of the way of the Prince with daddy issues. 3. Keywords: (I'll come back to this one) 4. Genres: Fantasy, Action/Adventure, Eventual Romance 5. Favorite Tropes: Found Family, Eventual Idiots to Lovers, with a hint of Enemies to Lovers Bonus: My Camp goal this year is just to get some writing done; shooting for 15k words!
🌹 @becausethecat
1. Planning: Generally it depends. I don’t outline Fic usually, or random ideas that just jump out, but I do like having vague-to-solid roadmap on other ideas 2. WIP that i think I’m gonna try to do: A pirate loses his ship and crew to his creditors and makes a drastic attempt to pay them off by promising to produce a rare magical artifact—a weather violin that specifically calls moody weather when played—and he isn’t prepared for his quest to dump him on a small island, inhabited by one other person; the violinist who found his treasure first. 3. Key Words: Broody Boi, Dislike to Love (think animated Anastasia/Dimitri), reformed pickpocket, identity, violin + The sound of rain on a tin roof while a sad viloin plays, deserted island, survival, persons of debatable charm, BLORBOS 4. Genre is uhhhh.... Pirate Captain on a deserted island with a Moody Violinist ..... idk if it will be humor or romance or survival but it’s def Fantasy with Magic and whatnot 5. Tropes: Pirate on Deserted Island, Survival, is Learning to Communicate Effectively a trope? And uhhhh I’m not sure how the Only One Bed will turn out that’s the one I pulled out of a hat (what quantifies Idiots to Lovers bc they might be that too)
🌹 @fanged-writer
1. former pantser, trying to plan now. don't think my previous method was working for me, so I'll see how this goes! 2. sentence: an average human is suddenly gifted 'divine' knowledge, transporting them from one dismal situation to another. 3. will need to figure these key words out, i think. 'wasps, red, gods, superstition, summer'. 4. not too sure, but got some fantasy in there... 5. rivals and rivals and more rivals. also deceit.
🌹 @inkspellangel
1. A little of both. I plan a bit and then hope I don't pants my way too far away from that vague outline :'D 2. SSP: Grumpy punk with wolf companion has to arrest his childhood friend because of reasons he can't believe. 3. Keywords: Mad scientist, childhood friends to lovers, grumpy/sunshine friend dynamic, cave system, more vibes than plot at this point 4. Subterranean sci-fi, I think 5. 100% sunshine/grumpy friends
🌹 @fleurtygurl
1. I think I lean more towards a pantser. Ideas come to me as I write that I would never have thought of in the planning stages of my wip. But I'm doing my best to find a way to give myself more structure. 2. Filipina in San Francisco meets cyborg private investigator, and they solve some murders. 3. Keywords: tomboy, trauma, sapphic, straight people being friends, siblings-centered 4. Sci-fi and mystery? ( i know there are technical differences between mystery and thriller, but i dont want to try and think about it.) 5. my favorite dynamic? Close sisters who can depend on one another

Content Marketing Strategy: A Simple Guide to Building Effective Plans

- out content marketing strategy that helps them achieve their pretensions. In this blog, we’ll break down the way of casting a strong content marketing strategy that works for your business without counting on complicated assiduity terms. We will keep effects simple, humanized, and instructional.
1. Understanding the Purpose of Your Content
The first step in developing a content marketing strategy is understanding the purpose of your content. Ask yourself," What do I want this content to achieve?" Are you looking to induce leads, increase brand mindfulness, or educate your followership about your product? Having a clear thing helps you produce content that aligns with your business objectives and resonates with your target followership. Knowing your followership is just as important as knowing your pretensions. Consider your followership's preferences, pain points, and interests. Understanding this will help you produce content that feels applicable and engaging to them. Flashback, your content should be precious to your compendiums, offering real results to their problems.
2. Creating a Content Plan
A content marketing strategy is further than just creating arbitrary blog posts or social media updates. It’s about planning out your content in a way that supports your business pretensions. Once you have a clear understanding of your followership and objectives, it's time to produce a content plan. This plan outlines what type of content you'll produce( blog posts, vids, infographics, etc.), how frequently you’ll publish, and the platforms where your content will participate. thickness is crucial when it comes to content marketing. Sticking to a regular advertisement schedule helps build trust with your followership and keeps your brand top-of-mind. A good rule of thumb is to maintain a content timetable, ensuring you are constantly delivering precious content that aligns with your content marketing strategy.
3. Optimizing Your Content for Hunt Machines
Hunt Machine Optimization( SEO) is a critical element of a successful content marketing strategy. Creating great content is important, but it’s inversely important that your followership can find it fluently. By optimizing your content with applicable keywords, you increase the chances of it ranking advanced in hunt machine results. This leads to further visibility and potentially more business to your website. Make sure to incorporate keywords naturally into your content, including in titles, headlines, and throughout the textbook. For case, if you are writing a blog post like this one, using the keyword" content marketing strategy" at the right frequency will help ameliorate its searchability without sounding forced. Remember that your content should be written for humans first, and search machines second.
4. Repurposing and Promoting Your Content
Once you've created your content, the step is getting it in front of your followership. A successful content marketing strategy involves repurposing and promoting content across different channels. For illustration, you can turn a blog post into an infographic, a social media update, or indeed a podcast occasion. This helps you reach a broader followership and maximize the value of your content. Promoting your content on the right platforms is just as important. Partake your content through social media, dispatch newsletters, and indeed guest posts on other websites. This helps increase its reach and allows further people to engage with your brand.
5. Measuring and Perfecting Your Strategy
No content marketing strategy is complete without tracking its performance. It’s pivotal to measure the effectiveness of your content to see what’s working and what’s not. Use analytics tools to track criteria similar to website business, engagement rates, and conversion rates. This perceptivity will give you a clear picture of how well your content is performing and where advancements can be made. perfecting your content marketing strategy is an ongoing process. Grounded on the data you gather, you can acclimate your content plan, tweak your SEO sweats, and find better ways to connect with your followership.

Neo Disciplinary Agents
*chills*
She got jacked arms under her suit, no doubt…crazy spider-leg hair, she has full control over every thread of organization members… what were they prior? Ex-mercenary? They emit prison guard… or executioner vibes…
You simply don't fxck around. You will not find out, you will simply be gone, gone like a speck of dust.
Let's talk about neo org structure, (ex?)-criminals, cult leaders, big-shot bourgeoisie… 99% guaranteed to each have their own purposes, grand delusion of world conquest, & their nefarious deeds:
Loot, tax evasion, human experiment & underground market etc.
Such an exemplary bunch, what could possibly go wrong?
Allow me to tell you a story:
Once, X worked at an establishment* with decent pay but manager bullied them so they left for another sect. across the block, who promised them better pay & fair treatment. Except when they arrived, to their dismay, other staff were jealous saboteurs, back-stabbers, rumour mills who did all they could to drag others under no matter how low they stoop. It was even implicitly encouraged.Boss did not want X bc of age, manager later also did not want X bc of “ability” despite prior promises, but they do not get dirt on their own hands, so they “borrow other's knife to k!ll” so to speak, which is why some staff turn on X as if they get paid… they do, though reward may not be money.
X decided to quit when they found out just how shady they operated:
identity fraud & faked marriage for immigration, debt entrapment, money laundry, tax evasion, exploit staff by tip confiscation, gambles are on the tables & obligatory, prostitute to the top, join cult for promotion
Their method:
financial & social entrapment, back scenes manipulation, subtle coercion
At the end X went back to prior org …at least they had rigid management who know how to run an operation on the table… all hands visible.
Sound familiar?
… … …
Not to dismiss the benefit of doubt but when you fill your ranks & esp. the executive echelon with egoistic characters of dubious backgrounds & even more obscured intentions… what would you expect happen?
Already on first encounter somebody expressed vehement protest. Truly smart opposition don't show their fangs until it's too late for you. Ex-criminals who look ready to pick a fight anytime? You rly think they would change for good? Mayyybe… but words are cheap talk, watch what they do. Cult leaders… never good news. Immediate boost of followers for your organization? Sure. Long-term goals? Hmm… Well, what can the bourgeoisie do? Anything they want & their money can buy. Easy funds? For now. You think they will just fund you for free? It's a world of Give & Take, & who knows better how to seize* than an elite capitalist. An iconic idol can't be bad, we get loyal popularity!Except she's wired to the organization's server, which seems convenient, for communication? Or maybe… mind control? She already experiences “glitches”…seems like a cyborg power boost clearly has draw -backs.How long can the power boost of borg op. last? What happens when it's worn out? We all know hardware needs maintenance & upgrades. About the disciplinary agents? Also borgs …But they look uncanny, like they'd be unfazed under any circumstances, like they know…things.Idk about the ex-mercenary part… they thoroughly creep me out.
Hey at least the young leader seems honest & competent? Keyword: young* Can we expect a circus of hooligans to obey a 16 yr-old boy? …How much control does he actually have over them? I don't doubt his competency, I doubt the members' extent of will for cooperation.
(no no I'm just paranoid~) oh but…
For example,
Suiryu is obligated to work for neo now to pay for the suit he damaged, debt entrapment at work.
#opm#one punch man#opm manga#neo heroes#crazy#but unfortunately#realistic#corporate corruption#money laundering#organizedcrime#syndicates#unhinged#morally unsound#cults#unethical#human experimentation#long post#ish?

I think about a query and a cover letter and how i need to look up what theyre called because i dont even know. Let alone know how to write them well and which things are required for what, and how i heard publishers only expect emails during calls for wubmissions so I dont know where to look for those but i also need to learn that from Somewhere i can learn such info. And how i know how to format a book for print, with mirrored margins and all the rest of that specific spacing stuff, but i have no idea the formatting requirements for a manuscript sent to a publisher (although hopefully that will be on their site as a style guide requirement directions and formatting IS something thankfully i'll be able to easily Look Up and Follow Directions to do). But the letter you send to pitch a novel and the length of manuscript expected (1 page? 1 chapter?) Or what kind of summary blurb they want, or if they want a summary or a "marketing blurb" that keeps some parts mysterious and enticing. And what's most frustrating, the reason i'm complaining, is when I look these things up the articles with advice do not say WHAT they are, basic requirements and basic expectations, it is IMPLIED the reader has as much familiarity with the definitions of these terms and when these items are needed as adults are expected to be familiar with job Resumes and standard Good Practice Format out of the gate. But with Resumes, high school and parents did provide some basic guideline directions and basic informafion like "include X, do not include Y, summarize Z" and "use keywords found in job description" and "keep it short such as one page or you may give a bad impression" and "do it in basic X fonts, basic colors, unless the job is particularly creative with unusual expectations of your resume" with similar directions about cover letters such as "state job you're applying for, summarize your education and some relevant experience, say you'd like the job and say why if you'd like, end with your contact information, keep it under a page ideally." I do not know the expected lengths of query letters, font expectations in the emails, if its an email or attachment, if it's submitted only during calls for submissions (i assume yes), how to find submission calls, what the title of the email should be, what the blurb length shpuld be and what it should Contain (summary? Marketing keywords? Your writing style or more technical key point information? Length/word count minimun and max? Should a summary be the whole main plot in a few key point sentences or be only the premise with the ending a mystery? Should it be entertainingly stylistic, or technical?) I look up requirements for publishing submissions and its so often expected the readers know what all these specific requirements and Norms in Writing them already are, so all the advice in the article is specialized like "you already KNOW what to submit, what the requirement is, now here's how to be Noticed Better." So it amounts to an equivalent to advice articles that do not state what a cover letter must contain or how to format it, but instead only focuses on specific ways of sounding more Convincing or Unique in your cover letter. Which is not super helpful if you... do not even know what a cover letter should contain to BE a correctly made cover letter to begin with.
#rant#what this amounts to is. im going to have to do a ton of research. which in theory is fine#but its so FRUSTRATING that its so hard to find basic information on WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED AND EXPECTED#AND WHAT THEY SHOULD CONTAIN AND HOW#like. i literally have looked up WHAT ARE THESE like for 20 hours this week#and about every 6 months i look it up and research for 20-40 hours for a month and just#i still have no fucking clue 1#WHAT it is i specifically need to make for resume equivalents for submitting to publishers#2 what those documents should SPECIFICALLY contain and the formatting (in email? as attachment? title? summary or marketing plug? expected#keywords?)#because if i were a publishet yeah id simply THROW OUT submissions that do not contain the basic submission required documents#if the documebts werent included or were but contained totally irrelevant information and not the correct expected information#3 i cant find any guides that explain BASICALLY what the fuck all thid stuff is#i imagine maybe they teach ppl in college pursuing creative writing#but the articles im finding online are all skipping basic info. and basic info is what i need

you can look up any of the common words in the english language on any music streaming service and get hundreds if not thousands of results ...
(which of course include the keyword in song- album-title and artist name) and it's beautiful that so many people have felt the drive to create their own little piece of art and put it out there for the world to see... and i wanted to pose the question, but who listens to all of that... well art isnt necessarily only there to be consumed like a commodity but engaged and interacted with... but then the question becomes, who will engage with it? interact with it? ... all the right people will....
because the point is to create and that's all that matters, but see these people put it out there and are barely reaching an audience... im having a hard time putting my thoughts into words. right so... many people. a lot of music. a lot online. it's out there. who listens to it? which of it is worthwhile? okay well what do you or I or does anyone define as worthwhile in the first place.... subjective. but obviously not all of it is. but again how is it defined and by whom?
I guess I simply find the amount of ... stuff thats out there, the sheer number of it, I find it difficult to comprehend. Theres so much. So much output. nobody will care for so much of it. but there are people who care for it? few? im glad i found those little gems out of the millions upon millions of records that now define me, there is incredible music out there . it bothers me that so few people listen to it. more people should care... i try to make them but they dont. am i not putting in enough effort... no, the sheer amount of music and oversaturation of the """""market""""" and the lack of >advertising >exposure >PR, these factors are all not my fault. there are so many facets when it comes to the fame of any one specific piece of music and I fear im touching on them superficially and vapidly.
so much music out there. so much beautiful stuff. i find it very difficult to comprehend.... consider the most popular genres there are, im not talking exclusively pop, but popular music, genres that have prevailed and are cemented in , well, in particular the west. classical, jazz, rock... who knows how many identical rock records there are on account of folks lacking the lust to experiment with structure and sound and lyrics... but that doesnt matter all what matters is that those people expressed themselves and loved what they were making and doing and performing... but so many arent. and. what....
so many facets to touch on and i fear i lack the vocabulary and knowledge to consider it all and also this post is for a large part..... born out of the worries I personally have regarding music making, out of the stuff I worry about when I consider my own position in the world of music... well it's not... it's not worthwhile to worry about it all, because if you (=read: I ) really care about connecting to other people theough music? wait what does thta mean what do you mean? simply vibing to some music or understanding what the artist ehat the musician wanted to convey through the fact they used a real piano rather than a sampled midi bank/a preset/a synth, what the point was of using a field recording of birds and this recording in particular? you couldve made singer songwriter/easy listening music with some midi, why are you,... why all the extra stuff no all of it MEANSNSS something and ... it's about finding music you understand utmostly the music that... you hear it and you say I get it i get it i get it i get it. I get it. there isnt always something new or grohndbreaking to understand at all because all that the artist wanted is to continue a tradition BUT THE CHOICES THEY MADE IN THE WAY THEY RECORDED THIS MATTER THEY DONT MAKE THOSE CHOICES WILLY NILLY there was a reason why they kept that take in, why they added the chatter of the bar or sampled this noise of a crowd and why the fadeout was so awkward. theres

Advanced SEO Techniques to Drive Organic Growth in 2024
Introduction In the competitive world of digital marketing, staying ahead in SEO requires more than basic on-page optimizations and link building. As search engines evolve, advanced SEO strategies become critical for maintaining and increasing visibility. This article dives into advanced SEO techniques to enhance your organic reach and keep you at the forefront of search engine results in 2024.
Optimize for User Intent: Beyond Keywords Understand the Four Types of User Intent: Informational, Navigational, Transactional, and Commercial. Craft content that addresses these specific intents.
Use Semantic Search & Natural Language: Google's understanding of language has improved, focusing on topics rather than exact keywords. Use synonyms and related terms naturally within content. Focus on Long-Tail Keywords: While short keywords are competitive, long-tail keywords often align better with specific user intent and are easier to rank for.
Advanced Content Structuring and Clustering Topic Clustering: Group related content into clusters with a central 'pillar' page. For instance, if you’re in digital marketing, a central "Advanced SEO Techniques" page can link to clusters on user intent, technical SEO, link-building tactics, etc.
Internal Linking Optimization: Strategically link cluster content back to the main page and vice versa. This structure signals relevance to search engines, boosting the authority of your core content.
Schema Markup: Implement structured data for rich snippets. Schema helps search engines understand the context, which can lead to enhanced visibility (like FAQ snippets or How-to sections).
Harnessing AI and Machine Learning for Content Strategy Use AI to Identify Content Gaps: Tools like MarketMuse, Clearscope, and SurferSEO analyze competitors’ content, helping you find and cover gaps. Leverage Predictive Analytics: Platforms like Google Analytics and other SEO tools can help predict trends. By focusing on future keywords and trends, you can stay ahead of competitors.
Content Personalization: With AI, you can deliver personalized content based on user behavior. Tailor CTAs and recommendations based on each user's interaction history.
Technical SEO Enhancements Site Speed Optimization: A fast site is essential. Use Core Web Vitals as a benchmark, and optimize images, reduce server response time, and implement lazy loading.
Crawl Budget Optimization: Ensure that only important pages are crawled by managing noindex tags and removing unnecessary pages (like duplicates).
Advanced Mobile SEO: With Google’s mobile-first indexing, having a fully optimized mobile site is vital. Test and improve responsiveness, mobile page speed, and usability.
Enhanced Backlinking Strategies Authority & Relevancy: Focus on getting links from high-authority, niche-relevant sites rather than generic links. Digital PR and Brand Mentions: Engage in PR campaigns that result in media mentions, which indirectly enhance SEO through brand visibility and trust.
Guest Posting 2.0: Instead of traditional guest posting, collaborate on in-depth studies or expert roundup articles, which naturally attract backlinks and add credibility.
Optimizing for Voice Search and Visual Search Voice Search SEO: Focus on answering “Who, What, Where, When, and How” questions directly. Optimize for natural-sounding, conversational phrases. Visual Search: Ensure images are optimized with descriptive, relevant filenames and alt text. Use image sitemaps to help Google discover your images. Rich Media Content: Video and audio content is becoming a major part of SEO. Hosting transcribed podcasts or adding video summaries can cater to different audience preferences.
User Experience (UX) Signals as a Ranking Factor Optimize Core Web Vitals: Google emphasizes page experience. Improving metrics like Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), First Input Delay (FID), and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) can improve rankings. Reduce Bounce Rate and Dwell Time: Engage visitors by enhancing readability and structuring content for skimming. Break up content with headers, bullet points, and visuals. UX Design and Interactivity: Create a seamless user journey with an intuitive, interactive, and easy-to-navigate website.
Focus on E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) Author and Site Authority: Create a detailed author bio and ensure content on your site is credible and reliable. Regularly Update Content: Fresh, accurate content is crucial, particularly in YMYL (Your Money, Your Life) niches. Build Trust Signals: Showcasing testimonials, case studies, and credentials can boost trustworthiness. Conclusion With Google and other search engines continuously refining algorithms, advanced SEO techniques are essential to remain visible and relevant. By focusing on user intent, optimizing your site structure, leveraging AI, and enhancing the user experience, you can maintain a competitive edge. Implementing these advanced SEO tactics will not only boost your search rankings but also improve your audience’s experience, leading to sustained organic growth in 2024.
This post can be further customized by adding more specific tips or examples, depending on your target audience and their familiarity with these advanced concepts. Let me know if you need adjustments or if you'd like more in-depth details on any of these sections!

Anjney Midha is an AI investor and executive (who, entirely by the way, called out the alarmist bullshit guiding the current AI policy making in California), and what he said explains a lot. The fact that AI data models are full of useless shit is one thing. Another thing is, 90% of AI users can't write a coherent prompt for shit. Artificial Intelligence or what the fuckwits from marketing hopped on Horse K are pushing under that label is not going to work for people who lack their own actual one.
I've seen image generator data models with input image descriptions that used imageboard tags instead of natural language, because those lazy fucks compiling them couldn't be arsed to sit down and actually describe every one, instead just ripping the list of tags off the board along with the image itself. Meaning that chuds with all the eloquence of a rotten turnip could use those models efficiently, to generate stuff that is typically posted on imageboards (hint: it's porn.), and at the same time everyone actually able to communicate was being put at a disadvantage.
I wrote a couple of posts about prompts for image generators and how they're not rocket science or anything copyrightable. I also quoted Midjourney lead engineer David Holtz debunking the raindances and prayers bullshit so ingrained into the minds of AI users that some of them still insist it works despite all evidence to the contrary.
And here comes Anjney Midha, saying that not only the overly verbose purple prose I've seen in some prompts is an actual rarity, most of the users just fucking copy whatever they've seen used by other people before, because they can't even fucking formulate one coherent sentence. They aren't just illiterate, they're also unimaginative and actively ignorant, refusing to just sit on their stupid asses and read up on anything. Even if they don't use AI at all, the best they can do is aping trends pitched by about ten different people per language.
Imagine that when I asked some people in AI image generation groups on Facebook whether they mentioned the names of particular artists in their prompts (after I played with the concept myself), they had no idea who I was talking about. As in, they didn't want an early 19th century painting, it just came out like that because of other keywords. But since I've also seen people posting questions that sound like prompts in those very groups instead of running them through an actual generator, it just confirmed my opinion that the majority of AI users has no fucking clue what they're doing, and how.
I'm also noticing that the trend of "AI-generated music" lost its momentum as well. Why? Well, how about requiring even more actual intelligence and skill at using language in certain ways than image generators? AI-generated songs that worked had obviously human-written lyrics. People were making sure that the stuff rhymed and maintained some kind of meter, something that the current Large Language Models can't do. AI-generated instrumentals are even more of a hit-or-miss than songs with synthesized vocals, because at least with the vocals the poetic meter influences the musical meter. Unless the generator shits itself in a spectacularly disastrous way, lyrics with a specific rhythm will result in a viable song - for example, majority of the Tears for Fears parody needed only one run per 30-second fragment, which is quite a feat considering that I started it from the chorus, generating the rest in both directions.
The whole situation is, to be entirely honest, Ray Bradbury's nightmare come to life. Not that Bradbury's take on "people not interested in reading books" wasn't idiotically overengineered to the point of being misunderstood as something completely different and shockingly more obvious going backwards from the description, but we're seeing technology that requires literacy being peddled to a generation that is, by and large, fucking illiterate. No, they're not "visual". They're fucking illiterate and we have the previous generations to thank for that. The literary circle-jerk promotes belligerent imbecilic hacks who can't even use Google properly, required reading curricula for school are being jerked around by out-of-touch groups of book-burners, pearl-clutchers and stodgy antiquarians, genre fiction is still looked down upon despite being the most likely thing young people are going to read, writers gleefully shit all over their legacy in order to regain long-lost relevance, and the publishers push any flashy garbage in hopes that movie studios buy the rights to make an adaptation. How can anyone be motivated to read in this kind of landscape? Much less, how can anyone be motivated to write when PR, marketing and sales of books are more important than actually writing them? We have unscrupulous people stitch together passages generated by LLMs without any proofreading or editing and selling them as e-books or print-on-demand publications for that exact fucking reason. Nobody gives a shit what's inside (not even if it's a guide on mushrooms and wild plants that's supposed to tell you which ones are poisonous), the marketing tactics are more crooked than a New York Republican (or any metropolitan conservative, if you will), and the main goal is to flog it to as many suckers as possible before enough people call bullshit on the whole enterprise.
