For the first time ever, ER is in Max's Top 10.
As of January 19th, the 1994 TV medical drama entered at #9 and seems to be going strong as viewers indulge in the medical drama that set the stage for more modern favorites.
To someone who has been a fan as a kid when it did afternoon reruns, this is mind blowing. I love seeing so many others get to experience this show for the first time.
If any new viewers want to share their thoughts on the show and characters, I'm all here for it. 💛

Scans of the Brazilian magazine "Set" from April 1997, highlighting Harrison Ford and Brad Pitt in The Devil's Own (br: "Inimigo Íntimo"), on the cover. At the time, the movie was shown in theaters both in Brazil and the United States.
The magazine also features an article with George Clooney, when he was in ER and becoming the new Batman, an interview with Patrick Stewart and the re-releases of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi in theaters in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Star Wars.
More mags here!

This is my personal crossover event of the century
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
#one of my favorite actors and one of my favorite drivers interacting??? what???#alright whos gonna be the brave soldier and write the matt damon × mark webber rpf fic-#(i read a fic w james bond/seb so imo it really wouldnt be too far off to write Linus Caldwell/Mark LMAO)#ive known abt this event practically since i got into f1 but i feel like my thoughts abt it keep developing every time i look at them again#first time: huh okay wow brad pitt & matt damon taking w mark thats really wild. f1 drivers really do be meeting w high level celebs#after i watched fight club: wow wow!! i cant believe theres pics of brad pitt with mark thats crazy!#after i watched oceans 11: omg wait oh yeah! when mark was in jaguar he was sponsored by oceans 12!!! thats sick!!!#and then recently w my increasing love for Matt Damon: WAIT OH MY GOD MARK HAS INTERACTED WITH MATT!!!! (two worlds colliding feel ig)#but i was watching some interview w matt where they referenced this happening so its relevant in my brain again so i had to post abt it#but of course in the vid the specific pic on screen was him and mark interacting and i died. like seriously i can never escape f1 and mark#mostly im freaking out bcs its truly the crossover event of all time concerning my interests specifically#but the lore behind this is genuinely really really interesting#the fact that theyre promoting a heist movie specifically and then they put a $300k diamond in the nose of the Jaguar#and then the Jaguar crashed during the race and the diamond disappeared?????? cmon literally itself could be the plot to an Oceans movie#RBR/teams sponsored by RB were so much fun back in the day!!#they had several back to back movie promotions which all were pretty fun! just a shame neither team was good back then#it was Oceans 12->SW:ROTS->Superman right? i can't remember if there was another#such a shame that neither mark nor seb were in RBR in 2005 when RBR was promoting ROTS#i think i actually wouldve exploded if there were pics of them w hayden or ewan(my prev fandom haha)#f1#formula 1#formula one#mark webber#matt damon

(Archive) Honorable mention: Cool World (1992)
Originally posted: January 10th, 2022 Ralph Bakshi, the champion of underground animation. Throughout his career he has always fought to push animation in other directions than the kid oriented market of the American mainstream with films like Fritz the Cat. Unafraid to go raunchy, gritty irreverent and just plain dark, his work is characterized for focusing less on technical perfection and more on trying to do something new and daring. Which makes the case of this film such a tragic loss.
Originally pitched as a flat out erotic horror film involving the daughter of a human comic book artist and the living incarnation of one of his characters, executive meddling(from both the producer and lead actress Kim Basinger) befuddled almost everything this movie was aiming for. The desire to make it something more family friendly led to a movie that isn't fully adult oriented yet isn't really appropriate for children either. Murder, sexuality and vice are still rampant, just not as overtly explicit, and in a clumsy attempt to cash on the success of Roger Rabbit (something Bakshi wasn't interested in doing) they got a young Brad Pitt to interpret a cop dating a cartoon girl while trying to stop another one from bedding a human, since that's the one forbidden crime in the cartoon world.
If the plot sounds like a mess… it's because it is. So what's worthwhile here? That despite the butchering of Bakshi's vision, there's still something enthralling about this thwarted experiment. While a film like Roger Rabbit presents an inviting cartoon world, everything here is twisted, both literally and metaphorically. It feels less like Looney Tunes and more like a Tijuana Bible.
It's underground, grungy aesthetic combined with some shreds of potential the mangled plot still has, while unable to tell a striking tale on it's own, do fuel the imagination of what could've been and show the possibilities the premise of two different worlds clashing actually offer. Such a bloody shame.

I'm glad I never got around to watching Fury until after I decided to convert.
They haven't said anything explicitly to confirm that Norman is Jewish, but knowing what I've learned in the past few months gives Logan Lerman's performance a depth and poignancy I don't think I would have appreciated properly before.
And it's gutting. Absolutely gutting.
(He mouthed the line from the book of Isaiah, send me, and I broke. It's a hard movie to watch to begin with, but that section...fuck, man.)

'The Departed' Movie and 4K Review
The following review was written by Ultimate Rabbit correspondent, Tony Farinella. When it comes to filmmaking, Martin Scorsese is not known for his brevity.  His films are lengthy and complex. However, because there are so many moving parts that are interesting and layered, it rarely feels like a slog to sit through them.  He also makes sure to assemble an all-star cast of some of the best…
