My Heart Gone Missing [Chapter 5]
Fandom: Studio Ghibli (Howl’s Moving Castle)
Pairing: Friendship! Howl x GN! Reader
Warnings: Marius is unsupportive and angsty as usual~
Masterlist
“Y/N! You’re insane, you know that?” Marius asked as you put a baseball cap on and turned the dial to the town.
“Your point?” you asked as you turned to the ceramic basin.
“Why would a wizard give you one of his spells?”
“Well, you never know until you try, right?” you asked happily as you opened the door. “Any last words before I leave?”
“You’re-”
“Nope, bye Marius!” you called before you darted out the door.
“Y/N! Stop cutting me off!” Marius yelled moments before the door slammed shut behind you.
You began the walk through town towards the shop that you saw the other day. “Okay, just be polite, ask if they have the spell, if not, run.” You mumbled to yourself as you walked through the crowds of people. You looked down at your feet to avoid eye contact with other people, and when you slowed down, you looked up to see the shop of ‘The Great Wizard Jenkins’. “Okay, let’s do this.” You took a deep breath and then knocked on the door. Moments later the door opened to the same stunted man, er kid, from the other day.
“Hello, how can I help you?”
“You don’t happen to have a spell, do you?” you asked sweetly. After thinking about your sentence you sighed at your vagueness.
“You were that person who ran away the other day, right?” the kid asked gruffly.
“No! You must be confused with someone else.” You said quickly as your hand moved to your (h/c) locks of hair. You gave a small scratch before your hand flew back down at your side. “You don’t happen to have a spell that’ll, uh, I don’t know, hypothetically be able to turn you into, well, an animal, preferably a bird, you know, like, uh, hypothetically speaking of course.” You said quietly while not looking at the kid.
“Are you a witch/wizard?” the kid asked.
“What? No! What makes you think that?” you asked in a panicked fashion. Your hair was slowly turning into a (different hair color) starting from when you scratched it. Magic.
“Only a witch/wizard would want to look for a spell like that.” The kid answered.
“Well, you know, it’s all hypothetical and such. I don’t want it for myself, I’m just looking for a gift, for, uh, for a friend. Yeah! Because I totally have friends, why wouldn’t I have friends?” you silently cursed at yourself for your awkwardness and the conversation that you were having.
“No. We don’t give out spells like that. It’s too dangerous. Especially for that friend of yours, who doesn’t know what they’re doing, unless they are a witch or wizard.” The kid said smoothly.
Darn, he saw right through it, “okay, yeah, thank you. I’m sorry for wasting your time, again. I mean! Not again, we definitely haven’t met before. Okay, I’ll leave. Sorry for bothering you!” you yelled the last part out as you ran away from the shop. Again.
“You’re not as subtle as you think you are!” the kid yelled after you.
“Good to know old man!” you yelled in return.
“Children.” You heard the kid grumble behind you.
“I wouldn’t say that!” you yelled at him, “you’re not older than me!” you laughed when you saw the stunned look on the kids face before sprinting away. You may like to get a rise out of people, but you don’t like the consequences, and there was no way you were going to test out this kids’ consequences.
You quickly weaved your way through the crowd of pedestrians as you ran back towards the little building that housed the portal to your house. As you ran past people you decided that you were going to break in.
Now, to any normal person, breaking into a wizard’s house was insane, but, that was exactly what you excelled at. At least, according to Marius.
You successfully made it to your door without being pursued by an angry wizard, or an angry pedestrian. You casually leaned against the unassuming door and slipped in. “Marius!” you called out.
“Oh, you’re back already. Did it work?” Marius asked in a bored fashion from his bowl.
“Does it look like it worked?” you asked as you threw your baseball cap onto a desk that was steadily getting more cluttered with every passing day.
Marius looked up at you from his bowl in the corner, “I’d say you participated in a marathon because for some reason you thought that running in a marathon was a better idea than asking for a spell.”
“Huh, not too far off.” You mused, “anyways. I didn’t get the spell.”
“No surprise there.” Marius scoffed.
“But, I did get this wonderful idea.” You continued.
“A wonderful idea?” Marius looked at you disbelievingly, “why do I get the nagging suspicion that your ‘wonderful idea’ is actually a horrible idea that’ll probably get everyone killed.”
“It’s not going to get everyone killed.” You retorted, “I’m ashamed that you think that of me! I’m just going to break into the house and get the spell for myself.”
“That is the worst idea I’ve heard in centuries.” Marius said immediately, “and I was best friends with a minnow for like half of that time.”
You ignored what Marius had said and set to work on creating a foolproof plan. You got out some paper and wrote out a rough outline of what you were going to do. It started with an invisibility spell, you’d follow another person into the shop and just camp out by the door until they all left. Once everyone was gone, you’d search for the spell.
You smiled to yourself, this plan could either fail or be amazing. Marius leaned towards the crash and burn end of the spectrum, but you liked the idea of this plan. It seemed foolproof.
“Y/N, are you seriously writing up a plan?” Marius asked from his corner. You simply ignored him, you didn’t need any of his negativity. “Just don’t crash and burn alright.” Marius sighed, “there’s no way I’ll be able to roll my way to the lake if this house falls apart.”
“Glad to know you care about me.” You said as you leafed through your books on spells.
Marius scoffed, “no. I don’t care about you, I just care about my well being.”
“Same thing.” You waved as you pulled out a large book from the shelf. You shoved some papers off of the table and dropped the heavy book onto the table. It was leather bound and the cover was worn and faded from time. If you looked hard enough, you could barely make out an elaborate insignia and some words in an ancient language.
“At the rate you're going you’re going to end up living in a pigsty!” Marius insulted.
You ignored him and flipped through the gold edged pages. The script was small and swirly, and if the yellowing pages had any indication, it was a rather old book.
“Y/N! Stop ignoring me! You’re being such a bore.” Marius whined.
“You try decoding the words of several centuries old writing.” You snapped back as you leaned down to try and read what the script said.
“Why on earth do you have a centuries old book?” Marius demanded.
“What? You think I’m the first witch/wizard in the family?”
“Why are you living on your own then!” Marius yelled in a fury.
You shrugged, “adventure. Independence. Human things.”
There was the sound of indignant splashing and Marius fell silent.
“You didn’t drown yourself over there, did you?” you asked after a few minutes of silence, except for the flipping of pages.
“Ha ha, very funny.” Marius laughed dryly. “What are you even looking for?”
“Invisibility spell.” You replied.
“Great, you’re going to be invisible. Let me guess, you’re going to sneak into Jenkin’s store and steal the spell.” You fell silent and didn’t answer Marius’ sarcastic comment. “Oh my gosh.” Marius cackled in disbelief, “you actually are! Wow, I think we know who won the award for dumbest plan.”
“Be quiet.” You grumbled to him.
“Honestly. I think you have a deathwish.” Marius continued to talk as if he hadn’t heard your quiet threat.
“Nobody asked for your opinion.” You snapped back.
“Ooh, looks like I hit a soft spot.” Marius cackled gleefully, “so, tell me, was it because I figured out what you were going to do?”
“Don’t make me throw this rock at you.” You turned to his corner and held up a rock that you had picked up for exactly this reason.
“You’d miss.” Marius said in reply, but you did hear some apprehension in his voice.
“Shall we test it and see?” you threatened.
“No! I’m good. You can keep your rock. I’ll be quiet!” Marius said hastily.
“You better be quiet.” You muttered darkly and turned back to your book.
You didn’t know how long you spent poring over the small print of the book, but when your back and neck started to scream from pain you decided to stand back up to stretch out your back. You stood up to your full height and raised your arms above you in a long stretch. You rubbed the back of your neck to try and get some knots out of it.
“Did you find it?” Marius’ sullen voice echoed in his bowl.
“No.” You sighed and pulled up a chair next to the book so you could continue flipping through the book. You were only halfway through the book, so you still had some hopes, but it was quickly dwindling.
“Ugh!” you shouted and let your face drop onto the book. You peeled your face away from it a moment later due to the dust that was causing you to sneeze. “This is impossible!” you shouted and stood up from the chair and stormed away.
“Maybe it’s a sign!” Marius eagerly shouted, “you should quit! Leave all the crazy wizard stuff to Howl and the Witch of the Waste!”
“Shut up Marius!” you yelled back and stormed out of the door.

Hi💕 How members of rainbow would react to a new hot as hell operator. This woman scare the shit out of everyone. And she have a secret. She was professional assassin and very influential criminal figure. But now she's on a "good" side. So, how would react Jäger(who have a big crush on her) when her secret is revealed? Headcanon?
absolutely, anon! i wasn’t sure if you asked for every operator in a preference or just jäger in an imagine, so i created this with a heavier lean towards a particular german engineer. if this doesn’t satisfy you, please let me know and i’ll create another version to your liking!
i rewrote this about six times oh boy
•••
jäger x reader >> that’s kinda hot
•••
MASTERLIST
warnings: cursing, a really thirsty german man
•••
summary: jäger discovers your secret, and he doesn’t know if he’s afraid or turned on.
•••
“i’d let her step on my throat.”
ask marius about you, the orion, and that’s what flashes through his mind. what does he actually say, though?
“she’s fucking terrifying.”
he wasn’t wrong. you were less sociable than mute, stealthier than caveira, and more mysterious than nøkk. you were a jack of all trades if it came to keeping to yourself, and more often than not it saved your ass in your old jobs. these particular fields of work were only known between you and six, saving you from hours of uncomfortable confrontations from your coworkers.
most of your time went into the lab for independent studies, much to the disliking of the r&d director. if mira truly hated your presence, then you’d camp out in the firing range, testing new guns and perfecting the ones you’d learned previously. these exact locations caused many silent encounters, leading to wide eyes and uncomfortable excuses to departure. the isolation never bothered you, though, you’d rather have people know you for your looks instead of your past.
jäger was a perfect example of someone who only knew you at a base level. he tried to hard to put his foot in the door, but you always slammed it on him before he could get through. it was a game, a challenge to see who’d give in. it was the most competition you’ve had in years, and this little game you two have set up was something for the books, according to the gsg9. according to talk, marius doesn’t put this much effort into his cars or ads as much as he’s tried to get to know you.
one of your eyes was closed, the other was staring down an iron-sighted pistol. the target was long demolished; holes scattered throughout the board should have told you to stop, but you hadn’t found anywhere else to be where you could be productive. every echoing shot flashed a memory before your face.
BANG!
you shot a man to death who thought he’d bought you for sex.
BANG!
footage of a back alley bar shooting as the prime minister announced your ten million bounty on television.
BANG!
your parents watching you in fear as you raised the gun–
“y/n!”
you jumped, misfiring. you rolled your tongue across your teeth and lowered your weapon, balancing your weight on one leg.
“yes?” you asked, rolling your eyes. sure enough, marius was in front of you, wide-eyed. “something you need, streicher?”
he bounced on his heels, exhaling nervously through his teeth.
“i was looking for you, actually,” he said, red. “are you, erm, doing anything?”
“yes,” you replied immediately. “i was.”
“well, i can see that,” you watched his eyes dart around, avoiding your eyes. “are you doing anything later…?” you raised your eyebrows, suppressing a laugh and opting for a smirking reply instead.
“i suppose not.”
“fantastic! tell you what, your room tonight?”
“for?”
“i don’t know, maybe we could… get to know each other?” he looked ready to cry, or back out, or both. you must admit, though, marius was the only person you’ve known that was genuinely interesting to you. he had guts inviting you anywhere, let alone approaching you. eye contact was never broken as you stood in thought, watching him nervously scratch his scruffy chin. finally, you reacted to his advances, sticking out a hand. he reached forward and took it, shaking it once.
“deal.”
for the first time in years, you counted down to a somewhat desirable moment. you were admittedly dressed down with shorts and a graphic pullover. you whittled away at a block of wood, just barely being able to call it a dog when someone knocked on your doorframe. you looked up, meeting your gaze with a familiar blonde man. he waved a hand, chuckling airily.
“jäger.”
“orion.”
almost immediately, his eyes met the bookshelf, pinpointing several albums and manila folders.
“you read,” he said, awkwardly.
“i should hope i’m literate for a job like this,” you responded, nasally exhaling. you could practically read his mind at this point, and it was all alarms. secretly, you hoped he won’t leave. just as you’re stuck in the land of dreams, he pulls out the least desirable item on the shelf; your black folder.
“no—“ you could barely get out before marius hesitated at your sudden alertness, causing him to drop its contents. newspaper clippings, photos and entries were scattered across the floor and you placed your hands on your face, sighing. the blond man bent down and picked up a particular headline.
“das kopfgeld für den jägerin wird in millionenhöhe aufgebracht,” he read, eyes wide. ‘the bounty for the huntress is raised in the millions’... a photo of you was the cover image, standing in front of a typical prison height marker. “you’re—“
“i can explain,” you blurted, standing up. “listen, i was a bad person. i came here to save my name. sure, everyone else is afraid of me, but i had no choice. i needed the money and—
“that’s kinda hot,” marius interrupted, starstuck. “i—i mean, not the killing, but...” you raised a brow. nobody’s ever explained your past like that, you only heard that comment about your body. you laughed once.
“you’re into the predator versus prey thing?” you teased, biting your bottom lip to fight a shit-eating grin. “i see.”
“no! i mean— well— erm,” his hands moved frantically. “i’m not—“
“it’s okay, streicher,” you assured, placing a hand on his arm. “i won’t tell.”
“y/n?”
“uh, yeah?”
“i kinda want you to kiss me.”
“everyone does.”
you kissed him anyway.
he’s the only person on earth not afraid of you,
and that’s kinda cute.

Peter Pan (ouat) x Reader - A Little Fall Of Rain
A/N I'm back again with another Les Miserables inspired story. It is really similar to my Mr. Gold story, but I still decided to write this one. I used the song "A little fall of rain" that Marius and Eponine sing in the musical at the end of this story. It's recommendable to listen to it before or as you read the part (when Peter begins with bloody hell) since it might not make any sense if you read it as if they weren't singing. The link to my preferable version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5aW8Cpwy3_s I did change a few parts of the lyrics so it would fit Peter's character a bit more, but not too much.
Summary: Pirates arrive at Neverland and Pan declares war, but you make a terrible mistake.
WARNING: Major character death
wordcount: 2455
-------------------------------------------------------
You stumbled through the forest as fast as you possibly could. Your hands pressed the hem of your coat closed to hide the wounds you’d received minutes ago. Did Peter and the Lost Boys tell you about the situation? Yes. Did they also tell you to not go near it at any time? Yes. Did that stop you from going? Of course not. A few days ago, a group of pirates appeared on the Neversea and stranded on the island. After he discovered them, Peter decided to pay the unwanted arrivals a visit to find out what they were doing here. They claimed to have accidentally been teleported to the wrong realm and said they needed a few days to work out a plan to get off the island. Peter wasn’t planning on letting them leave the island as no one leaves without his permission, but since he thought it would be quite entertaining, he let them remain on Neverland for the time being as they most likely wouldn’t last a few days here. He kept a close eye on the group as he expected to find their corpses anytime soon, but after following them for a few days, he discovered the real reason why they came to the island. As two crewmembers thought no one was listening, Peter watched as they discusses their captain’s plan to take over Neverland and kill off all its inhabitants. Not liking being lied to, Peter killed off the two pirates and returned to the camp where he told us to prepare for war. Everyone immediately started making weapons, preparing traps and think of ways to outsmart the pirates. You were about to start preparing yourself when Peter walked over to you. “Do you have a moment love?” You nodded and followed him. He placed his hand around your waist as he led you to his tent and held the cloth up for you to enter. After Peter went in, you turned around to see he held a far more serious look in his face way than usual. “Tomorrow night, when we leave to hunt down the intruders, I want you to stay here.” Your dropped your jaw in disbelieve. How could he say that after everything that happened? You took part in every adventure the boys went on, but now that some silly pirates showed up, you weren’t allowed to? “What?! Why?!” “It’s too dangerous. These pirates are skilled and will kill everyone who gets in their way.” You crossed your arms and glared into his green orbs. He let out an irritated sigh before grabbing your arm and pulling you further into the room, making sure no one could hear the conversation. “Of course we’ll win this fight, but I can’t guarantee everyone’s safety. Not everyone may return to the camp and I don’t want you to be one of them.” His eyes were deeply focussed onto yours and his eyebrows increased the power of his fierce look. Still, you weren’t ready to give up yet. “I know how to fight, Peter. Please just let me come with you.” “I don’t want to lose you (Y/n).” There was an awkward silence. You didn’t want to respond as you were still upset about the fact that you couldn’t join the fight, but you didn’t want to hurt Peter either. You’d do anything for him, even if that meant staying behind while the others went to battle. “Promise me you’ll stay here.” He spoke with a stern look. You sighed. “I promise.” The next day everyone started preparing for the war that was about to begin. You tagged along with Peter throughout the morning before he gathered the group and explained the plan. “Alright boys and girl, after sunset we’ll pay our uninvited guests a visit they will not forget. It’s important to stay sharp and follow my commands. Therefore, no one is allowed to leave camp unless I say so.” Whilst saying the last sentence, he gazed over to you. You sighed and rolled your eyes before he continued. “All boys under 14 will be using bow and arrow and shoot from their hiding spots in the trees while all boys age 14 and up will beat the pirates at the battleground. (Y/n) will stay behind to protect the camp in case some of our enemies show up. We’ll show them no one enters and takes over Neverland without a challenge.” The lost boys all started cheering before they continued preparing for the battle that was ahead of them. You walked over to Peter who just finished discussing something with Felix and turned as you neared him. He pulled a devilish smile as you stopped in front of him and crossed your arms in front of you. “I’m impressed.” You teased. “What, by my good looks?” You rolled your eyes and Peter started to laugh. “O come on, I know you love it.” You chuckled and wrapped your arms around him as he mimicked your actions. “Don’t you have a war to prepare?” You said softly. “Pan.” The two of you turned your heads to Felix who was standing a few feet away. He had a serious look on his face, telling you he wasn’t here for a jolly chat. Peter let go of you and smirked. “What’s the news Felix?” “We need your opinion on where we should place our traps.” Felix said without moving even the tiniest bit. Peter nodded and turned to you with a wink before following Felix. You walked away and thought of an activity to help you spend your time. Now that everyone was busy preparing themselves, there wasn’t that much for you to do. As you walked through the camp, you looked over at the entrance of the forest. The Pirates were probably at the beach where their ship washed ashore. You were curious if the pirates knew about the war that was going to take place this evening. That’s when an idea struck you. You looked around to find out everyone was minding their own business, meaning no one was watching you. If Peter were to know about the Pirates’ plans, it would definitely give the Lost Boys an advantage tonight. Even though you were told to not leave the camp, going on a short trip to investigate the enemy and return as soon as possible wouldn’t hurt a fly, right? After making sure no one was watching you, you sneaked out of camp and made way to the shore. It took a little longer than expected since Peter was the only one who knew the Pirates’ location, but you finally noticed a big ship ahead which was stranded on the beach. You neared it through the forest and quickly hid behind a bush before watching as the pirates were sharpening their swords. “Get those swords clean an’ sharp lads! Everything needs to be ready as we invade their camp tomorrow!” A man yelled who was wearing a long, heavy coat and you assumed he was the captain of the ship. He kicked one of the pirates, who lost his balance and fell with his face in the sand, as he walked through the group. “Those children will be screamin’ for their parents as we show ‘em the real power of a pirate!” He kept hitting a few more pirates as he continued mumbling about how they were going to get rid of us and takeover Neverland once and for all. They all laughed and cheered at the captain’s statement, some even dropped themselves on their back and wrapped their arms around their waist whilst laughing. You watched as the crew drove to madness until.. “There’s a girl hiding in the bushes!” Your breath got caught up in your throat as you turned your eyes towards the pirate who stood a few feet away from the group and signed directly towards your hiding spot. You slowly rose onto your feet and watched as the crew looked at you, most of them caught by surprise. “Don’t let her get away!” Your eyes widened as everyone immediately grabbed their nearby weapon and pointed at you. You heard multiple gunshots and tried to dodge it by turning to the side and run away. As you turned, an inhumanly amount of pain hit your chest and you fell down on your knee, grunting in pain as the multiple shot wounds started to sting intensively. Knowing they’d only hurt you even more if you remained on the ground, you hurriedly got onto your feet and ran away as fast as possible. As you ran, you heard multiple cries and another couple of shots coming from behind you which, thank heavens, missed their target as you fled into the familiar jungle. The voices slowly dimmed as the last thing you heard was their captain telling them to hold fire. “Let her be! She’ll probably not make it halfway through the forest, let alone back to her group!” You dared not to look behind as you feared some might be chasing you. You grabbed the hems of your coat and pressed them together firmly to keep the view of the blooded battlefield on your chest from your sight. You had to get back to Peter. It took a long time before you neared the camp. The sun was already setting, giving the island a more flaming and mischievous look, and soon the boys would leave and make way to the beach. Your body was getting exhausted from the pain and the running and your speed decreased intensively until you were walking by the time you reached camp. Everyone was busy gathering their last equipment and hurriedly walked from one side of the camp to the other. Peter was standing in the middle, making sure everyone wasn’t making any mistakes and watched with Felix as a couple of older lost boys did some last minute practice. Felix seemed uninterested in the training and looked away until his eyes, which turned from boredom to concern in one second, met yours. “Pan.” He said loudly. Peter looked at him with a questioning gaze and followed his eyes until he too met yours. His gaze widened and everything went silent as you noticed everyone had stopped their actions and watched you as you stumbled past the tents. Peter signed everyone to leave and walked over to you when the Lost Boys had disappeared, grabbing your arms firmly as he reached you. “Bloody hell, what are you doing! (Y/n), have you no fear? I told you not to go there! Why didn’t you stay here?” He released your arms and checked the surroundings to make sure no one was watching. You placed your hand on his chest while the other one kept your coat shut and looked into his green eyes. "Wanted to help, so I left. I saw the pirates at the shore. They will strike tomorrow.. I-I don't think I can stand anymore..." Your feet collapsed underneath you and you crashed into Peter's chest. He caught you in his arms and the both of you slid down onto the ground. "(Y/N), what's wrong? There's something wet upon your hair." He brushed his hand through your hair and a stray of blood left its mark on his hand. "(Y/n) you're hurt! You need some help-" He noticed your hand which held your coat closed and removed it. He swung the coat open and a wave of worry and fear washed over his face. "Oh God, it's everywhere!" You looked down and noticed your whole shirt was soaked in your blood. Peter desperately started looking around and called for Felix. Within a few seconds he appeared from the jungle and looked at Pan while keeping his head low. "Get water from the spring!" Felix nodded and left the area. Peter watched as Felix left and turned his face to you when you weakly grabbed his hand and smiled. "Don't you fret, my dear Peter Pan. I don't feel any pain. A little fall of rain can hardly hurt me now." Your hand trilled as you placed it on his cheek, feeling the warmth of his face burn against your cold skin. "You're here. That's all I need to know. And you will keep me safe. And you will keep me close. And rain will make the flowers grow." You became light headed and you felt like you were about to faint when Peter pressed your back against his chest firmly, keeping you awake. “But you will live (Y/n), dear God above. Felix will be here soon, just hold on love.” “Just hold me now and let it be. Shelter me, comfort me.” He pulled you into a tight hug and you clenched onto his arm, enjoying every last moment of him. You wished this moment would last forever, that you could remain in his embrace for eternity while everything around you would stop. Peter rested his chin on your temple as you noticed his shaking breathing underneath the whispering. “You would live a hundred years if I could show you how. Please, don’t desert me now…” “The rain can’t hurt me now. This rain will wash away what’s past. And you will keep me safe, and you will keep me close. I’ll sleep in your embrace at last!” “No-“ “The rain that brings you here is heaven blessed. The skies begin to clear and I’m at rest.” You looked up to see Peter was fighting hard to hold back his emotions. His eyes started to tear up as they shot his concern straight into your orbs. You furrowed.“A breath away from where you are… I’ve come home from so far.” You felt a shot of pain through your chest and took a sharp breath. Peter pressed you firmly against him. “So don’t you fret, my dear Peter pan. I don’t feel any pain. A little fall of rain can hardy hurt me now.” “I’m here.” You smiled. “T-that’s all I need t-to know.” You said before weakly placing your hand back onto his cheek. “And you will keep me safe… And you will keep me close… And rain..” “And rain.” Peter whispered as tears rolled down his face. “W-will make the flowers.-“ You both said. You tried with all the energy you had left to lift yourself up to close the gap between you and Peter. You both closed your eyes as you neared him but right before your lips could touch, your body fell back onto his lap and relaxed. You dwelled off into a never ending sleep, leaving Peter alone with your lifeless body as you heard his voice one last time. “…Grow.”
