Can I just say i LOVE the match ups you gave me?! I was lowkey hoping for Howl because I kinda sort of might have just a lil crush on him so to see him being my match up made me so happy! Also Tsuyu is my favourite girl in mha so I am so happy to have her matched with me, and while i don't know Amajiki super well yet but I already find him so cute so that match up also made me super happy :3

If you have the time, could you write some minifics with those three x reader (one minific per character), comforting her when she gets overwhelmed in a crowded, noisy place after a tiring day and its getting too much? After a long day, it all gets a bit too much and you get overwhelmed in a crowd. Thankfully, your partner is there to help.

It had been a long day. Between working on your latest project, running a few errands, and keeping up with the antics of your friends, you were worn out. Now, you were out with your favourite person in the whole world. You should have been enjoying yourself. Instead the noise and press of the crowd was starting to get to be just a bit too much.

“Everything alright sweetheart?”

Howl’s voice brought you back from the mental edge you were precariously close to tilling over. You slowly looked over to him. His startling blue eyes gazed back at you, concern clear in them.

You began nodding out of habit before pausing and changing your mind. As soon as Howl saw you shake your head, he squeezed your hand gently and pulled you closer to him, leading you carefully through the crowd.

Once you were out of the crush, Howl led you into a backstreet. Then he turned you to face him.

“Crowd too much?”

You nodded. “I’ve just had a big day. Guess it was a bit more than I could handle at the moment.” You felt a sudden surge of guilt. Since both you and Howl had been busy recently, you’d both been looking forward to spending time together. And now that you were finally able to go out as a couple, you were ruining it. “Sorry.”

Howl was already shaking his head, as if he’d been able to read your mind. “Nothing to be sorry about sweetheart. I’d be more than happy to go home and relax with you there. I’ve got a new book I’ve been meaning to share with you.”

You felt a smile beginning to lift your mouth. You should have known Howl would be happy to just spend time with you. “That sounds nice.”

Howl smiled, extending a hand towards you. “Well, we’d best be going then.”

You took his hand and Howl guided you into a running start before lifting off into the air, walking high above the crowd you had previously been struggling through.

Caged between Howl’s arms, you felt yourself begin to relax at last.

You felt an arm wrap around your shoulders and Tsuyu pressed herself close to you.

“Doing okay? Just breathe and try to focus on me.”

You took a deep breath and concentrated on the subtle warmth and pressure her body provided. It helped centre your racing thoughts and slowly your heart rate returned to normal.

“Do you want to go home?” Tsuyu kept her voice light and as soft as she could given the noise of the crowd around you.

You paused for a moment to think. You were feeling better, that was certain. But you knew if you stayed in this environment for too long, you would likely relapse into your previous panicked state.

You nodded and Tsuyu smiled her wide froggy smile. She gently guided you into a backstreet where the crowd thinned out to only a few passers by. From there, she guided you back to UA and into your dorm room.

Once there, she eased the door closed while you sat down on your bed.

“Do you want some alone time or some quiet company?”

You smiled gently. “I’ve been looking forward to spending time together for weeks. If you’re okay to stay, I’d like that a lot.”

Tsuyu laughed. “Of course I’d like to stay! I’ve been looking forward to spending time with you too.”

As she sat down next to you, she let out a contented sigh. “This is so much better than being in a crowd.”

Before you could turn to ask Tamaki if you could leave, you felt a tug on your hand. You glanced next to you to see Tamaki shaking, his eyes lowered.

Immediately, all thoughts of your own discomfort left your mind. “Tamaki! Are you okay?”

He shook his head and muttered something under his breath. You leaned closer, placing your ear as close to his mouth as you could.

But whatever you were expecting him to say, he surprised you by pressing a kiss to your cheek. You were stunned into silence, leaning back to look at him in shock.

His cheeks were a bright red and he wouldn’t meet your eyes. When he spoke, his voice was still soft, though this time you could hear him over the crowd. “Can we go home now?”

You nodded, still mute in surprise. You let Tamaki lead you by the hand through the streets and back to your dorm room. Once you were behind closed doors, he let out a deep, relieved sigh.

“What was that?” You finally found your voice, “I mean, I’m not complaining but…I wasn’t expecting that.”

Tamaki flushed again. “I could see you were uncomfortable and I wanted to give you something to distract you while we got away from the crowd.”

You felt your heart flutter at his consideration. You knew how uncomfortable he gets around crowds but even so, he put your feelings first so you wouldn’t feel uncomfortable.

You walked over to him and wrapped your arms around his shoulders. “Thank you. That really means a lot.”

Before you could thank him further, you felt Tamaki go limp in your arms, collapsing to the floor. You sighed. Your dear boyfriend had reached his maximum embarrassment level for the day.

Howl's Moving Castle by Studio Ghibi

Genre: angst, brief happy moment, shifting into animal, strangers to besties to something? No happy ending? hunters, Howl forgets he is a wizard and has powers stuff 🤦‍♀️

It was happening again.

Howl's locked himself into the bathroom and won't let anyone in while green goo seeped through between the floor boards of the castle and the bottom of the bathroom door.

Markle lead you to the goo leaking room Howl decided to hole up in and left you to your own devices, he knew the goo would soon stop with you here.  Softly knocking on the door you waited until it cracked open with sad blue eyes peeking through.

"Hey," you said.

"Hello, would you like to come in? Please."

Howl opened the door and let's the person in without any hesitation.

"I'm sorry it looks like I made a mess."

Howl gestures to the goo and looks a little ashamed and sad.

"... It's ok." you entered the bathroom.

"Thank you, would you like a cup of tea?"

Howl holds a kettle out to the person he let in, the kettle steaming.

"Just trying to make your mood a little better."

Howl gives a nervous smile as steam escapes their mouth, there are few tears in Howl's eyes.

"Oh, Howl," I put the kettle down and pull him into a hug.

"W-What are you doing?"

Howl was startled and confused but the tears they held back began to flood their face and pour as Howl embraced the person in their warm hug.

"Even if I turn into a monster?"

Howl asks softly, letting their hug tighten around the person who's reassuring them it'll be okay. And letting their tears of sadness flood down their cheeks.

"Then I'll be a monster too, and there's nothing wrong with that."

"I'm not alone?"

Howl looked up at the person, they were still crying at the fact they were reassured and weren't alone anymore.

"Thank you, I'm not alone anymore."

Howl said softly as they wiped their tears with they're sleeve.

"I'm a wolf shifter, Howl."

"W-What? Really?"

Howl's tears stop as they look up at the person, wondering if they're telling the truth or lying?

"Are you serious? You're a wolf shifter?"

"Yes, I was born shifter, but if I shift too much, I might never be able to turn back." My curse.

"If you can't turn back do you just stay like that forever?"

Howl tilted their head curiously, looking into the person's eyes as he questioned them further.

"Could you show me your shifting, I've never seen someone shift before..."

Howl looked at the person expectingly and hopefully, hoping they show him how their shifting looks and how it works.

"Of course." I turn to the window and jump. Howl shouts in alarm. But when I landed on the ground I am no longer a human, but a 7 foot, silver wolf.

Howl watches in amazement and excitement at the person turning completely into a wolf, Howl was so curious and fascinated by the person's shifting as he looks with amazement.

"Woah...that's so cool."

Howl looks in wonder and amazement at the person's shifting, Howl has never seen something so cool in they're entire life.

You howl as you ran across the hills and Howl's Moving Castle moving when you go too far.

Howl laughs as his Moving Castle follows her, laughing with glee as they go with his friend as he runs across the hills and fields.

Howl loves the feeling of the open air, it's fresh and free, Howl enjoys the feeling of the wind on his face as he travels with the person. This may be the best moment of all of Howl's life.

But soon that moment ended.

A few days later, they were attacked.

"We need to run!"

Howl yells out in fear as they looked over to you, fear and excitement was apparent in his voice and expression on his face.

"We need to get away!"

"I'm sorry, Howl." Tears escaped your eyes. "I'm a danger here. No matter where I go they will always follow. Its better if I just-"

"No! You can't do that, if you go away I'd feel alone again."

Howl's voice broke as tears stained his face again, the sadness was apparent in Howl's voice and eyes as he stared at you.

"You can't go."

"Howl, I could hurt you-"

"I don't care!"

Howl cut the person off as they hugged them tightly.

"I don't care if you hurt me, I don't want you to go! Please...you can't go."

Howl's voice was filled with sadness and desperation, Howl never wanted to leave this person, ever.

BANG!

You sob.

"They've come for me, and they'd kill anyone who would stand in the way."

"I'll stand in the way! I won't let them take you, I'm not going to let you go away!"

Howl yells out in defiance as he pulls out his sword, tears still staining his face but a determined look in his eyes as he stared at the people as they came closer.

"I won't let you get hurt."

Finally the "people" broke in.

"Oh, lone wolf, oh, rogue wolf. Come out to play."

"No. Get away."

Howl growls at them, gripping tighter on the hilt of his sword he readies himself for them, a look of intense determination on his eyes.

"This is my castle. You have no business here. Leave. Now."

But you intervene. "NO, TAKE ME INSTEAD! JUST DON'T HURT HIM!"

Howl's eyes widened and looked at you in shock. He couldn't let you be taken away, but what could he do? He's not strong or powerful.

Howl didn't want harm to come to you.

"N-No, I'm not going to let that happen."

Howl raised his sword threateningly. His hands were shaking.

So you did what you had to do.

"Howl," I called out softly. "Howl, I will transform and I will fight them."

"No, don't you dare.."

Howl looks at the person with a look of pure determination and concern as tears started to fall from his cheeks, this was not going to end well.

"They're too much! You can't fight them."

Howl looks back, anger brewing in his eyes, he wasn't going to let anyone take his last friend.

"I can, but I might not be able to turn back," tears slipped through.

"Its a full moon, my transformation will be powerful, but I may never turn human again. This is my curse, Howl."

Howl gasps and covers his eyes with his arm at the person's revelation.

He didn't want this to happen. He didn't want his only friend to become a wolf forever.

He was so, so, afraid.

"N-No."

Howl was in complete denial of the truth, tears stained his face and his voice started to break.

"I love you, Howl." You kiss his forehead then pulled back pressing our foreheads together. "I wish we had more time."

"What?! You love me?!"

Howl's voice was filled with surprise and confusion as he was taken aback by the person's confession.

His face was a mix of shock and surprise as he looked at you, tears still staining his cheeks.

You smile, making sure that the last time he sees your face as a human to be smiling, then you turn to the hunters.

"NO!"

Howl shouted out in fear and sadness before covering his face with his hands as he cried openly.

He couldn't believe this was happening. The person who was his best and only friend was becoming a wolf forever. He can't watch it happen, he just can't.

Howl sobbed openly as his heart shattered into countless pieces, this was so, so painful.

You pounce on the hunters shifting into a wolf in midair.

The hunters cried out as they were easily batted away by me as a wolf.

You run off so that the rest of the hunters would leave Howl's Castle, a tear slips through your eye.

Goodbye, Howl.

"No! Come back!"

Howl's sobs out, desperately wanting his best friend back with him in his castle where it's warm, and safe.

Howl sobs openly, watching his best friend leave forever, and he'll never be able to get them back.

Howl's heart breaks more and more and he falls to the ground, sobbing openly as he watches the person running away with his last bit of hope of being happy.

"Goodbye..."

Howl's voice was somber and sad as he looked down to the ground, sad his only friend was gone and might never come back to him.

All the happy memories Howl made with the person were now memories, not an activity he could do anymore.

He was all alone again.

Then, Sophie appears.

"Sophie?"

Howl looked up, his eyes widened with surprise.

"When did you get here?"

Howl's mind was filled with questions. How did Sophie know about your friend's leaving? And how did Sophie know it was the right time to come to him?

"Did our friend ask you to come and see me?"

Howl's questions seemed nonstop as his voice is filled with curiosity and wonder.

"Who?" Sophie asked confused.

"The person who was here, they left."

Howl looks down to the ground with sadness as their face was stained with tears, it was obvious who they were talking about.

"They just took off like that."

Howl looks up to Sophie with sorrowful eyes, they've just had their best and maybe only friend taken away by these hunters who hunt down anyone who is a shifter.

"I don't want them to get hurt.."

Howl's voice filled with sadness.

"Howl,..." Sophie smack him. "Then save her, you baka! You can turn into a giant bird!"

Howl quickly jumped as the slap caught them off guard, they were shocked and hurt even more that Sophie slapped them.

"O-Ow..."

Howl holds their cheek in pain as they look at Sophie.

"How-how would I do that!?"

Howl's eyes were wide and he was clearly hurt and sad that Sophie would hit them after what happened with the person who came to see Howl.

Howl was crying again, his cheeks were stained with tears still and they stung.

"Save her you, moron! You are a wizard for goodness sake!"

"I'll go...I'll try and save her..."

Howl sighed and wiped their tears away, their voice was filled with sadness and annoyance.

Howl started making plans.

He was gonna save his friend, no matter the cost, he was sure of it.

Howl was gonna bring back the only person who loved and cared for him in this world...

End Of The Year Faves

10. Zack Fair (FFVII) gif imagine

I really love this one because it’s like the definition of short and sweet. It’s adorable, warm and I think I got Zack’s characterization pretty well and I often reread it when I need a smile. I just love my boy Zack and how this little thing turned out.

9. Connor (DBH) prompt (”I shouldn’t be in love with you”)

The reason I love this one it’s because I wrote it as one of my favorite things to write: a character study. I tried to express Connor’s struggle as he develops feelings for the reader and how conflicted he would be to have fallen in love with someone, having developed such a human thing as feelings. One of the many reasons why I love Connor is because of his arc in the game, because of how guilty he feels for becoming deviant despite being the very android that hunts them, it just gets to me. I’m just really glad that I could explore that in this prompt and that I managed to show it properly as well as make this more angsty, since my specialty is usually fluff.

8. Yennefer (Witcher) prompt (”I shouldn’t be in love with you” “Are you jealous?” “I’m so scared”)

This is the only Yennefer request I’ve ever gotten (besides one for a dating would include that I had already written), and I had so much fun writing it! Yennefer has appeared in my Witcher writings a lot, but never as a main character and never as a love interest, so that’s why this was so cool! I think she’s a very interesting character, so I really enjoyed getting the chance to explore her personality. I love how it turned out because I think it’s the perfect balance between her being sly and also being loving and showing her feelings for the reader. 

7. Too Nice (John Ambrose McClaren, TATBILB ficlet)

John Ambrose is another character I really like writing for. What can I say? I fell in love with him and it was great to write something for him. This is somewhere between love and almost hate, with a lot of misunderstandings and complex feelings that ultimately lead to a happy fluffy ending. He’s just the sweetest and it was curious to write his reactions to someone who doesn’t always respond well to his kindness, even if because it flusters them.

6. Special (Howl Pendragon, HMC ficlet)

And yet another character I love. It was a bit hard settling on just one version of the character, because I love both the movie and book versions, so I tried to make it a little bit of both... even if this Howl is more suave and charming like in the movie rather than the absolute endearing disaster that book Howl is. Still, I always have fun getting other characters involved with the reader and their love interest, so I loved adding Calcifer and Marko to the mix. As well as the cute interactions Howl and reader have, I love the ending in which he hints at the fact that the reader unlocked something in his heart that he didn’t think was possible.

5. Kind (Jesse Pinkman, Breaking Bad ficlet)

I don’t often get to write about Jesse, so this was awesome! Peekaboo was one of my favorite episodes and it was amazing to get to explore it. While it’s not perfect, I really like how the connection between Jesse and reader turned out, how kind (:D) he is and patient and respectful, and I think I also poured a lot of emotion to the reader with that background.

4. Separated (Zuko, ATLA ficlet)

By this point, it’s obvious that I’m more proud of ficlets (because they’re longer and take more planning and more time and effort) and about characters I love because I think the passion I have for them is more obvious. I wrote this one right when I was watching ATLA because I loved (and still love) Zuko so much. It’s sort of a character study as well (it’s established that I adore writing them) and I’m so glad that I had the idea of getting Iroh involved because he’s awesome. This ficlet just has a lot of pining and repressed emotions that come out in the end and I love it.

3. Weight On His Shoulders (PS4 Peter Parker ficlet)

This one if pretty recent, as I wrote it after beating the game myself. This game is just awesome, and this is my favorite representation of Peter ever. He’s cute, charming, nerdy, loving, kind, a bit awkward and just everything that Peter and Spidey should be (at least for me). I wanted to represent both his personas in this one, and I like the balance I achieved with it as well as the emotions, the pining, the secret identity and in the end the understanding of the reader. The part with Spidey saving reader is great and I’m very happy with how reader is prepared to confront him about it once they learn he’s Spiderman only to change their mind when they see how much it’s weighing on him so they decide to relax with him for a bit.

2. Reunion (Cloud Strife, FFVII ficlet)

I’ve written a lot of things for this fandom this year because I was super inspired after beating the remake with my brother, I loved it (honorable mentions to Heal My Heart and Stars In Your Eyes, two other ficlets that I wrote and I’m very proud of). Cloud has always been one of my favorite characters, and in this one I got to examine a side of him I usually don’t. Not only does this ficlet include Zack Fair (another one of my favorite characters) but it also goes along with an idea I had been thinking about for a long time of a female reader pretending to be a boy to get into SOLDIER and becoming friends with them, but it also shows Cloud as the meeker and shy boy he is in Crisis Core. It was so cool to write about him back then and after once he had joined AVALANCHE. His relationship with the reader was also bittersweet because of their past and it’s just so complex and emotional that I love it, especially their reunion at the end.

1. Soul of a Warrior (Jaskier x Nissa, The Witcher Fanfiction Series). This was a big project, as series always are. I spent several months planning and plotting the story and even more months writing it, and also revising it once it was finished before posting it. I put so much effort, love and time into this series that it absolutely had to be number one. Soul of a Warrior is probably the thing I’m most proud of (that I have written) in 2020. 

As most of you know (my mutuals definitely do, as they have gifted me amazing things with him), Jaskier is probably the character I fangirled the hardest about this year. I wrote many things for him (the ficlet What Would You Do Without Me? deserves another honorable mention because it’s probably my favorite thing I’ve written this year along with the series) and working on each of them has brought me so much serotonin. Jaskier is just such an amazing character, loving and compassionate but cheeky and selfish while at the same time being charming, optimistic, bubbly, extroverted and a huge flirt. So many layers!

But back to the series... Soul of a Warrior had one of the best faceclaims I’ve found, the sweetest friendship between my OC Nissa and Geralt and the slowest of burns romances with Jaskier. Him and Nissa are very similar in some aspects, so much so that they’re both too blind to realize the other’s feelings (idiots to lovers, am I right?) but they care so much about one another. The three of them were strangers, but they become family (found family, another one for the fandom bingo!) and I’m the proudest of how real and organic their relationship feels. Not to mention that their dynamic was super fun to write because Geralt is the only one that knows they’re in love and is so fed up and exasperated with their obliviousness. As well as this, I think I managed to mix action, emotion and depth really well. My secondary OCs feel more alive than others before them, Nissa was pretty complex and coherent and had a true voice of her own, and their part on the story feels important. There are tense moments, cute ones, sad ones, tragic ones... a little bit of everything. I think this one as a lot more angst and whump because I was in a bit of a dark place when I wrote it, but it still has hope and light in it, which I really love. The series also has a lot more violence than what I’m used to, but it was interesting to get out of my comfort zone a bit. 

Overall, not only do I think it’s fun to read, compelling, funny and emotional all at once, I’m just very proud that I managed to write something a little different from what I usually do and feel like I did it well. I put a big part of me in this series and for that reason Soul of a Warrior will always have a special place in my heart 💜
