A glimpse into the past, before things went so horribly wrong :)

My thoughts about the finale's timeline based on the stills.

We will start with the Buck & Tommy date. (Whether there will be scenes about Bobby (and Athena) before that, just to hurt us more, I don't know.) It looks like night time, and the fire happened at night. A call will interrupt their date. (Who will call Buck? The hospital? Is he Bobby's emergency contact after Athena? Will he call the others? So many burning questions.)

They all rush to the hospital. Hence the same clothes. I would love if Tommy would be there with Buck, but he's not in any of these photos or the promo. Although a girl can dream...

Bobby has to be in the hospital for days. So the team comes and goes, because Athena investigates, and she had to be at the hospital for some time, while the doctors made sure she's okay.

So I think while they are there (next day / morning maybe) Hen gets a call and I don't even know what the hell happens with them, but Mara deserves a great family so they better fight for her and win. So go Henren! We support you! We love you! ❤️ (And so does Chim. Hopefully, he and Maddie could help them.)

I suppose the same happens with Eddie. They are wearing the same clothes, but it's daytime, so probably they spent the night at the hospital and the next day after the fire, Eddie gets a call. Go home, where he speaks with Buck, his parents. I don't know what will happen but I know it will be messy and we have all the feels, all the drama and heartbreak.

I reckon in this scene he tells Buck about what happened with Kim and Christopher and Marisol, then he will talk with his parents (When will they arrive? Are they in the other room, or with Chris or not there yet?)

Will Buck be present and just went out when the phone rung or was he in the other room during this talk? Will he talk to Eddie's parents at all, or he's just there as moral support. I think they get a call about Bobby. So they go to the hospital again (where all this time, there was always somebody to keep Bobby company, and Bobby will be fine, everyone will be fine and happy and the problems magically go away. 🤡)

I think this will be the last scene, a couple days later (different clothes), where Chris goes with his grandparents, while he forgives Eddie and Eddie goes to therapy and gets better. 😭

Cue the tears, the tissue and a very long wait till season 8. (I hope they will start at the end of September. 🤞)

PS. I like that they got renewed sooner, but it also means cliffhangers. They know they don't need to close every story line and frankly they can't do it to all 3 major character arcs in 44 minutes.

So ep 9 description thing idk what's called it says

" Eddie's emotional affair develops further" or something like that. Here is my theory or more like what I wish could happen.

WALK WITH ME

Since it's an " emotional affair" it means he will not be sleeping with Kim. He will just use her EMOTIONALLY as one last chance with Shannon. One last chance for an " ideal family" he ever dreamed of. The first date with Kim goes really well and thinks to himself this is what Shannon and him could've been if she didn't die.

He goes back home and somehow Marisol finds out about him lying by Buck or Chris. She asks him why he lied and he comes up with excuses and doesn't confess BUT he does tell Buck about it and Buck is like wtf dude that's so messed up. Buck tells Eddie to come clean and Eddie is like hell nahh ain't gonna do that.

Buck and Eddie get into little argument about it. Buck is like " this is the reason why Chris was seeing 5 girls at the same time! He takes after his dad". Eddie is super hurt by it because he thought buck would have his back no matter what.

He ends up telling Marisol about the cheating and she gets super mad. Before she leaves she says " how long have you known?" And he is like " "know what? She goes " that you're incapable of loving another person that's not ur dead wife" and LEAVES.

Now Eddie is freaking out because it's true. The only woman he ever loved was Shannon. He is trying to reason with himself and remembers Kim. so he starts to date her more but he just feels empty inside the whole time. Him and buck made up but something changed between them. Eddie thinks it's because buck lost respect for him and doesn't like him anymore. Buck also has tommy now so he keeps distance.

Around the third date he tries to do it with Kim but yk he can't. It's the same with when he found out that Marisol was a nun. He freaks out This time he doesn't go to bobby or buck instead he goes to an actual confession for the first ever. He tells them everything and about all he ever wanted was a perfect family but now everything is messed up.

The priest asks him one question after hearing everything and that is " you keep talking about a perfect family but what is a perfect family to you"

He replies " A perfect family is a family that is happy and loving. A family that is always there for each other and you can put your full trust in. A family that goes through both hard times and happy times by each other"

The priest asks " and you don't have that with your son? And with anyone else"

Then it clicks. He does have that. He had it with his son and with Buck. He is always happy with Buck, he can trust Buck not just with his life but also with his son, Buck is by his side through everything and he is very loving with Buck...

Oh. He is capable of loving someone else besides Shannon and that's Buck but he can't have him.

Sooooooooo I don't know if I'm just biased from working with my Naturally Perfect pair or entering a new era of my doll collection or what, but earlier today I was browsing through aaaaaaaaaall the new dolls Target added to their site recently--new MH, new RH, new LOL OMG, Dream Besties, Naturalistas wave 2--ALL THE DOLLS--dolls we've been awaiting for weeks, in some cases months. And now that they're here, what's the only thing I'm really feeling excited about? This Disney ILY 4ever 18" Doll Inspired by Ariel. I could care less about this brand or her character theming, I just think she's such a beautiful doll. It will probably take a few weeks, but she will definitely be joining the family as soon as I can manage it.

More rambling about dolls I don't have (yet)--

I think I may be suffering from a general fashion doll burnout, because aside from this girlie lately I've been browsing a lot more 18" & 14" dolls and a lot fewer 12" and under. Kind of getting bored with the lack of height variety...and tbh I'm finding it's actually a lot easier to make clothing for dolls in the larger size range. I've even started a list of other future acquisitions I'd like to make, though at this point I have no time frame for when any of this might happen XD

Will it happen? Someday? Idk, maybe. At this point I'm not going to try to force it.

(P.S. ~ If you are one of the people who 'thrifts AG dolls all the time' I'm happy for you but please don't feel obligated to tell me about it, unless you want to send me one. There are no good thrift stores in my area, and even if we did have them my current health situation makes such an outing impossible. I have no doubt the dolls are out there, but I have no way to get to them. Reminding me of this fact serves no purpose other than to make me feel bad about it :/)

Buck turns around, facing Eddie. The man is looking at him expectantly and for a few seconds he doesn't really get it— until the memory crashes against him like a tsunami. "You wanna dance?" Eddie is smiling, a little buzzed and with cheeks flushed and hair a mess.

Buck has been dancing all night, with Maddie and Hen and May and Natalia— His feet hurt and he has a half mind to take his shoes off. But yet, he wants to say yes to Eddie. He wants to say fuck everything holding him back and just enjoy his sister's wedding and dance with his best friend.

"I don't know, Diaz," Buck smiles, crooked and a little drunk. "Think you can handle it?"

"I think you're the one who will struggle to keep up with me." Eddie smirks, already walking towards the dancefloor.

"Alright, show me those dance moves." Buck chuckles.

He can see Hen and Karen a few feet away, dancing and laughing and twirling in each other's arms. He can see Chimney and Maddie on the other side, making some complicated choreography that only they know and wrapped in their own world.

Buck feels warmth spreading through him like liquid gold— He reaches for Eddie's hand and just when their fingertips brush, someone cuts in.

"Uncle Buck, Uncle Buck!" Jee stumbles her way through the few adults still dancing, in her little pink fluffy dress and basically crashes against Buck's legs.

He chuckles, swallowing the disappointment as he pulls his hand away from Eddie's and bends down to pick up her niece, dramatically grunting as he does.

"Hey there, princess!" He fills her face with kisses, making the little girl squirm and giggle in his arms. When he looks up, Eddie is staring at him with so much fondness and— love? Would Buck dare to dream that what he's seeing in Eddie's eyes is love?

"Save me a dance for later?"

"You got it, Buckley." Eddie nods, understanding and patient as always. He tickles Jee's cheek with a finger and grins, "But right now I think someone more important is demanding your attention, huh?"

'Later' They had promised each other, but later never came. Buck twirled Jee all over the place, swinging her over his head and then catching her in his arms for at least five songs.

When his niece finally got tired and his gaze searched for Eddie, he was dancing with Marisol and it felt like his chance had passed, a pan of regret and jealousy making his chest tighten.

Even though I'm not into PJO, your transfem Percy take reminds me so much of Monique from my story(MDG) and they have so much in common because like...

Monique is also a trans girl who has a strong aversion to men outside of the select few she is close to because of her trauma with them and how terribly they treated her causing her to be cautious around and intimidated by them. and i also need eddie to pretend nothing happened when he wakes up the next day and for his catholic guilt to kick his ass and for buck to get mad at him and i need them to fight ok i need eddie diaz sexuality arc to be something that makes sense because i know that for us, latinos, it's not always easy to deal with this type of thing and eddie has dealt with the repression of his feelings, but this is different and also the same, because it all goes back to how he was raised and how our parents fuck us up in ways we can't even begin to know.

911 episode 7x09

Okay, I watched it.

I'm in pain. I can't stop sobbing.

What the F!?

THE PAIN!!!!!!!!!! The drama!!!!

All right, so let's see. Here are my thoughts in no particular order:

Bobby. Do not kill Bobby, I swear! If they kill him I will riot.

Athena asking Amir to talk to Bobby was such a bad idea. For all that this woman knows how to read body language, she should also understand that Amir lost everything because of Bobby. You can't ask a man who lost so much to talk to the man who caused it. He may be forgiving, but there's a limit to what a person can take.

Did Amir set the fire? I wonder. They made it seem like that, for sure. But I'm not sure if he really caused it. I hope not.

Also, that sequence with the song and Bobby going around, talking to everyone? Sobbing mess I tell you. But Bobby, giving Eddie a Bible? What are you thinking? The man is already a vat of Catholic guilt as it is. He doesn't need the Bible. He needs therapy. Give him Frank's telephone number. I think he has lost it.

Henren and Mara. Man, that Ortiz woman is brutal. But once again, just like with Amir, she is acting out of pain. We, as the audience, know that you can't just ruin the life of a young girl like that. But this woman lost her son and she's obviously filled with pain and anger and it's all pointed at Hen. What she is doing is wrong, but from her point of view it is the right thing to do.

Poor Mara though. And Denny hitting that guy. I'm just... no. Get that girl back to them Tim! I swear!

Eddie. Eddie, Eddie, Eddie... my love, what are you doing? This is soooo weird. At least he hasn't kissed her. That's something.

Buck meeting Kim was perfect. Once again Eddie and Buck's storylines collide. I loved their talk in the kitchen. That kitchen has seen some interesting Buddie stuff. I like how Buck expressed his concern and how Eddie admits that he is worried about his own sanity as well. He knows that what he is doing is wrong, but he doesn't know how to stop it.

I love how Buck talking to him and Kim showing up at the fire station, moved Eddie into gear to talk to Kim and tell her the truth. I'm so happy that he told her, because I was afraid she would find out in some other way and that would have been so much worse.

But what on Earth is Kim doing? I'm sorry, but that is some level of batshit insane. She is dressing and acting like Shannon to help Eddie release his emotions? That is so wrong and so weird. I would be out of there forever if I was in that situation. For a minute I thought he was dreaming and then they started talking. I'm glad it doesn't seem to be anything romantic or sexual though. It was literally a conversation to 'help' him move on.

Well, at least Eddie got to say what he needed to say to 'Shannon'. If this level of batshit insanity is what he needs to push the refresh button, then sure... why not?

And then of course Marisol and Chris walk in on them. The plot only thickens.

Poor Chris. This isn't going to end well. Hasn't that boy been through enough? He might just end up living with Eddie's parents for the Summer after all. Not in a 'We're taking that boy away from you' type of way. But more a 'The man needs some time to sort out his shit' type of way.

Marisol is bones, because no way she'll stick around. I don't know what Kim was doing, but she obviously has to go too. This isn't a way to live for Eddie. He needs to move on from Shannon.

Captain Gerrard being there? Oh, they are definitely going to make him the new Captain of the 118 in the finale. I can smell it. The firefam will be seperated for sure. Scattered accross different houses. Chim might be the only one left behind at the 118, having to deal with Gerrard again.

That's why Eddie will feel isolated. He'll be alone, no Chris, no firefam, no Buck to lean on because they'll have different shifts and hours. So they'll see less of each other.

As for Buck and Tommy? I'm not sure what to say here. They were kind of a non-issue in this episode. I think it's clear at this point that Tommy is a narrative foil and not some kind of great love for Buck. He is just there when he needs to be in Buck's storyline. Bobby telling Buck that Tommy is good for him harkens back to Abby as well, how he told him to step into it with Abby. Look how that ended. Not just that, it's the way it was just a throw-away line. He was trying to say goodbye and make amends, leave them all in a good place. And from what Bobby has seen so far, Tommy seems to be a good guy. It wasn't even as deep as the Abby talk and Buck didn't really care one way or the other.

Buck basically started the season in the locker room telling Eddie he had broken up with Nathalia and was single again. Now he's in the locker room in the penultimate episode and he's in a relationship again. Waaay too soon once again. He rolled into another relationship without having to make too much of an effort. Another person he met on a call, a firefighter sure, but they still met on a call. That hamster wheel keeps on turning. When will it end?

RIP to the Buck in the locker room sunset scene though. We had some great Buddie speculations for that, but alas it was just a capture that Tim liked because it looked artsy. So he posted it.

Buck and Eddie were in each other's orbit so much during this episode. They showed them cooking together, playing pool together, the kitchen scene... Eddie needs to work through a lot of shit and Buck is navigating his new relationship, but ultimately? I'm sorry, but they all but hung up a great big neon-sign that said: 'ALL OF THIS IS SOME DAY LEADING TO BUDDIE. BE PATIENT!'

Also, Lou said he isn't even in 7x10 right? If that is true... yeah, they aren't going to last long. How funny would it be if they gave BT the Bucktalia break up during hiatus?

Conclusion: What a great episode. I loved it all. They made weird choices this season though. The Shannon look-a-like is telenovella kinds of drama. But I'll take it in stride if it means it will help Eddie to move on. Bobby? Oh Bobby... I hope this scare with his own mortality will make him realise how much he needs to live for himself and his family. Henren just can't catch a break, can they? Give that child to them please! Do it next week too! I cannot wait months to see how this ends. I need that child to be happy with the Wilsons. The only people thriving right now are Madney. Good for them.

Gonna go a bit against the grain here probably, but I really wish Marisol would stick around.

I like her: she's sweet, she was funny and I was happy to see Eddie being all kicky feet over asking her out (to Christopher’s consternation lmao).

Plus, it's kinda cool to have this female character that breaks the mold of a typical love interest (insanely pretty, dressed carefully, with curated likes and dislikes-- this is a girl who saw her house, put on overalls and went all Bob the Builder on it with success, like RESPECT GIRL)

That said, I see her and Eddie more as friends than lovers and, unfortunately, in the 911 world, usually that means she will just vanish to never return (plus we know their relationship will be under scrutiny in 7x05).

I want her to STAY. I want her to keep being friends with Eddie, with Chris. I want her to actually bond with Buck, to see the panic in his eyes during the first date from hell with Tommy and think 'oh geez louise, Eddie, leave them BE you oblivious, petty lil MIERDA'

I want her, DIY extraordinary, and Buck, who actually has construction knowledge, to bond over I dunno, some elderly neighbor drove their truck into Eddie’s yard and smashed his fence, would you want help with that?, and then suddenly they are having weekly facetime calls while catching up on Dream Home Makeover together

Like please ABC/911, just because a relationship isn't working romantically, doesn't mean that these characters can't stick around and GROW
