Pretending to be engaged? There were a lot of times that Marigold didn't understand her friend and this was one of them. She raised an eyebrow. "Okay, I don't have the most experience in relationships." That was an understatement that she was certain that Charlie was aware of. "How do you expect me to come up with the best proposal story? I'm all the way on the way on the other end of the spectrum here," she pointed out as she looked over the menu. She set it down and looked at Charlie. "Plus, we'd need a backstory! I mean, how long have we been together? What are our plans for the future? I'm already stressed and this isn't real!"

Charlie had a bad habit of getting bored if things weren't interesting. And when she got bored she tended to start thinking of trouble to make things exciting. Which was why she was sitting at the restaurant table, gears visibly turning in her head. "This place is too boring. You can see it in the waitresses faces how mundane it all is." She sighed as she slipped a french fry into her mouth. "Do you want to pretend to get engaged to get a free meal? Bonus points if I turn you down and make a scene."

What are Unwanted Plants and Flowers (part 2)

Ground Ivy also known as Creeping Charlie (Glechoma Hederacea) This is a perennial weed and  can be one of those weeds that if in the right place can be left in peace as it has tiny blue flowers that some may like. It is spotted by its ability to creep along and does not cause a lot of problems. It can be easy to control by pulling it out, however, it can re root itself from the smallest mount of root left behind.

Lamium, (Lamium Pupurem). This also known as dead nettle and will spread quite vigorously so needs to be dealt with quickly. the best approach is continually pulling up of the plant.

 Mugwort (Artemisia) This can be easily spotted as it has a smell of a  Marigold and has a silver underside. This is a perennial weed and  it is one of the weeds that spreads the fastest with its roots running underground. Tiny pieces of the root will regrow, it can grow upto  3 feet and is very hard to get rid of completely. It can be controlled by regular pulling up or smothered with some sort or impermeable material.

Evening Primrose (Oenothera Biennis). This plant can grow upto 4ft tall, it does not grow very quickly and is not difficult to live with in your garden apart from it being quite large, but can be easily dealt with by cutting the crown which will kill it. However, it has been know to attract the Japanese Beatle away from other plants in your garden, so may be worth considering keeping.

Portentilla also known as Cinquefoil. This plant be easily identified by its five part leaf. it is a perennial that can grow up to 2ft tall. It grows from seed and is slow to multiply compared to most weeds. It does bloom with pretty yellow flowers, so if its in the right place nice to just leave it alone.

Horsetail (Equisetum) This is an ancient perennial weed that has adapted to survive and is almost impossible to get rid of without regularly weeding of it out. It spreads its roots underground growing upto 2ft tall and ends up chocking all your other plants.

Wild Lettuce, (Lactuca Serriola). This an annual plant that can grows to over 5 ft tall, it quite easy to control as its not very invasive just large and imposing. cutting it at the crown before it goes to seed makes it easy to control. 

Velvet Leaf (Aburtilon Theoharasti) This is a weed that has travelled all the way here from India. Its an annual  persistent plant that invades and takes over growing upto 5ft. It is easy to spot as it has a velvet like leaf with a unique seed capsule that has a gear like appearance. They are very easy to pull out to keep you clear of them.

They might not be asked any questions, but she needed a backstory! Whether they were going to detail it to anybody was entirely beside the point, if you asked her. "It doesn't matter! We need something to build off of!" She thought about it for a second. "Oh, possibly. Do you think that makes it sound more realistic? It's either a short period or an excessively long one... like ten years."

"I think you're severely overestimating how many questions we're going to be asked here." Charlie said with a chuckle before indulging her friend. "Classic lesbians with a cat. Chester's a Himalayan despite me being allergic to cats, I put up with him because I love you." She made a big show of grabbing her own heart. "Now how long have we been together? Are we UHauling?"

Only one proposal? Marigold raised a brow. That certainly sounded like more than enough to her, but that was beside the point. She shook her head. "Oh no. No improv. I will get us found out! I will 'yes and...' us into the truth somehow! We have to have a plan... and a cat. We have a cat together. His name is Chester."

Charlie thought for a moment before shrugging. "Okay simple I'll be the one to propose to you then. I've only had one proposal so I could definitely take the lead on this one." She tried not to laugh at how worked up Marigold was getting, finding it endearing at how much thought she was putting into this already. "Well think of it like improv, we just go off of each other. Or we quick make a backstory now. Clearly our plans for the future are to get married, well hopefully, again I think we could get a good pity reaction if you turn me down."
