Sorry for spamming jetman thoughts but anyways the Vyram have one of my favorite dynamics ever they're all so fucking petty to each other its hilarious until it's not. Episode 47 and 48 are not good examples of this behavior

i think i'm supposed to get that rie and maria are the same, if not partially the same, but how does grey fit in? that is that grey also plays the piano like maria and rie in the same episode where the piano seems to connect rie and maria, based on the context 🤔

6. But fr Jetman's mechs are absolutely peak to me. I like sentai mechs fine but I wouldn't call myself a big mech mark EXCEPT for these handsome boys. perfectly on theme, great color schemes and I love how spaced out their introductions are, makes them feel more earned in a way

TETRA BOY ESPECIALLY. sure he's not avian themed but basing the remote controlled mech on a rockem sockem robot is genius. I love his movements generally, how bouncy and quickly he runs but his punches still feel like they have weight to them. AND HE'S A GIANT GUN TOO. MY SON IS PERFECT CHEER AND CLAP FOR HIM NOW

18. its Maria/Rie, who else would it be. Ryu spent soooooo long trying to find a way to bring his beloved Rie and got SO close SO MANY TIMES but ultimately couldn't. and poor fucking Rie, when she finally breaks free of the Vyram's control, she's too horrified by all the evil she's committed to even consider returning to how she was with Ryu. and what's worse is that she's not unfounded thinking like that, bc yeah its simply not possible anymore, they've changed too much. and I like how she gets one last stab (heh) at Radiguet

Honorable mention to Tranza who got a WORSE fate than death. like yeah the guy sucked but why did they do that him like jesus christ

i know i shouldn’t compare the deeply moving romance of grey/maria with itakiss awful toxic naoki/kotoko misfortune

but like. the way the i owe you one is handled is just???? so different to me.

kotoko will do something, and therefore, naoki feels honourbound to return the favour. but every time he does, and it’s like. we’re even now, until like, next episode. made it always seem transactional and impersonal. i never bought in the idea that he was growing fond of her, he flatout hates her for most part. nothing kotoko could possibly do -- and she did a lot!!!! and tried!!!! -- to make naoki fall for her. nothing worked. it always felt like naoki wanted to get rid of his debt to her asap, without much regard to kotoko bc she was so inferior and awful in his eyes. i don’t like her! i still don’t think they should be a couple! but i still felt bad that kotoko was never allowed to move on!!! or improve herself!!

whereas jetman, it’s just. god. maria will do something, without much thought, and it always feels like grey is moved by it. he’s touched that she played the piano for him. he’s shocked when she bandages his hand (bc he protected her from a blade). and every time he carries her like a princess, it’s just so... there’s something tender about it, even if she’s unconscious for most part, but then... she regains consciousness, and she’s still in his arms, when they move again

and maria always asks, why did you save me? and grey always replies, i owed you one.

and i just. i believe in his love for her. i believe he truly cares for her, is moved by her.

this is love.

Like Gai likes Kaoru, who likes Ryu, who cannot forget about his dead girlfriend, who happens to look exactly like Maria, who has weird conflicting feelings for Grey, because he's nice to her, who, I think is going to end up been Gai's rival?

And then there's Raita, who eats to forget unrequited love

Dynaman at ep 12. Everybody in this show is adorable and just cannot stand it. :D

Magiranger ep 3. Just starting so I'm not having an opinion but gotta love Makito been this giant dork.

King-Ohger at ep 15. Dropped like a hot potato. Probably I'll start again after watching 10 episodes of Google V

i really do love the gai/ryu/kaori dynamic and have a lot of thoughts about it but my jetman favs will always be maria and grey because they made me cry

jetman is a very special season for me and i can't quite put my finger on why, but i do know that maria is a big part of it. i love her wicked laugh, i love her tragic back story, her fight against fate, her stupid mushroom hat... i love it all and i love her more.
