DR DANNER: haiii Dr Danner I lov u. He’s an artificial alicorn bcs of course he is bro has a jet pack in canon anyways. He’s got strong magic and his cutie mark is a Venus flytrap with a test tube cause 1. Diana and 2. I think studying one is how he got it as a kid. The test tube is just him being a mad scientist lol. Quantum Prism is just a science name I thought fit

MS. APPLEGATE: am so sorry I didn’t wanna give her pony boobs so I just made her really fluffy in the front. Anyways her cutie mark is a gold star sticker peeling off cause she likes teaching but she’s got a bit of a short fuse. Idk man it’s 6am I didn’t sleep at all just pretend like it works same with her name

THE JANITOR: I actually loved making him it was really fun umm I name his name would fit him and he got his cutie mark for being a janitor that kills ppl. He got it when he was a teen and hid his first body. His magic is also pretty strong good for him

BOB: he’s just a regular fella! He loved fixing things up with his dad as a kid (like refurbishing stuff) which is how he got his cutie mark. He loves his job actually he’s just a good guy . Lets say his family r woodworkers which is how he got his name

MARGARET: I read a fanfic where Margaret was also into science alongside her sister and I was like ok I like that which is why her cutie mark is like a cauldron with stuff in it… tell me u see the vision. Weird science instead of academic science. Anyways she’s a pegasus but she doesn’t care for flying much.

2ND PRINCIPAL: so obv she’s a scientist which is how she got her cutie mark as a kid. She was/is really smart in STEM and explored that down the path of child experimentation lol…. She’s a unicorn with moderately strong magic. Alkaline Cure seemed to fit her cause she’s all sciencey and sweet on the outside

1ST PRINCIPAL: he’s actually prob my fav design I did cause he’s soooo cool looking anyways he’s a unicorn with moderately strong magic as well. He mostly uses it to aim guns tho. He got his cutie mark as a kid/teen when he got his affinity for guns. Hornblende is a kind of rock and I named Jerome after rocks so I thought it fit

HALL MONITOR: SMOKEY CAMEO!! So he was actually a blank flank until he got Smokey which is when he realized he loves animals :3 not much to say for him I’m so sorry I’m so tired

STEVIE: Pegasus who’s actually pretty good at flying!! He got his name cause he had a patch of cream colored fur on his chest when he was born that no one in his family had and they were like we gotta name him after this. He got his cutie mark when he got accepted to the internship that led him to be a hall monitor at a kindergarten it shows his commitment to rule following

i've got @charismabee and i's reverse kindergarten au on the brain again so i'm gonna ramble about it <3

essentially, everyone's personality is the opposite of what it is in canon. for example, reverse-cindy is an absolute sweetheart with no interest in relationships; this carla is a goodie two shoes; applegate loves her job, etc. they're all trapped in a time loop, which everyone is aware of but the new kid.

this results in a lot of wacky hijinks as each of the k1 and later k2 students in turn go to kid for help with something. the time loop still ultimately ends whenever the principals' experiments are stopped, but a lot of elements are changed. take the first principal, for example, who still conducts illegal experiments but does it in the name of the "greater good". his son hates him, so he tries to bond with him through drugs (it doesn't work). monty wants to go unseen, so the principal secretly makes something to make him less noticeable, but it goes a little too far and now everyone keeps forgetting monty exists. nugget is being used as a test subject for the antidote. the mp kidnaps billy as an assistant to help with his experiments to avoid the truth getting out.

we planned out every one of the 150+ possible character dynamics in a separate doc. here, have some of the most chaotic lines from them-

Billy doesn't care for the blond twins. He has more than enough twin in his life already.

Like it or not, Kid's a danger to the people around him even if Buggs is aware he's just being used, like a knife. And everyone knows bringing a knife to school is the worst idea ever.

Nugget has told Bob that Billy and Lily in particular are just The Worst, so Bob really doesn't like him, scoffing at the fact that Billy couldn't escape a basic kidnapping orchestrated by a mellow, middle-aged man.

Kid is so good at helping, he's gonna murder Felix so well. He loves being told what to do so much [:

Ozzy's like Cindy but dirtier. Lily is about ready to knock him out, only she's unwilling to touch him.

Ozzy doesn't like Bob. He's mean and rude and hits people with cleaning supplies and one time an axe.

Ridiculous! Cindy couldn't even be bullied right.

Monty is uncomfortable with all this love and validation.

the wip is 35000 words long, we have successfully traumatised and therapised everyone in succession, and things are going great :]

@pantherlover also asked about this! Here’s the first post about it with a vague outline, here’s an opening scene, content warning for sick kid

Daniel Buckley is five years old when he starts complaining of headaches. His parents coo, vaguely, give him baby aspirin and make sure he gets to bed on time and stays asleep through the night, make sure he’s eating his vegetables. They take him to the park for fresh air and sunshine. They don’t really worry until his kindergarten teacher rests her hand on Margaret’s arm and tells her that, generally, kids this young don’t get headaches and it might be a good idea to visit the family doctor.

Daniel is five and the doctor tells him he is very sick but they’re going to give him medicine that will make him better. Daniel is six and he feels sick, sicker than before, but they say the medicine is working. Daniel is seven and the medicine isn’t working anymore and he is dying and his mother tells him that next year she is having a baby.

Daniel is eight when Evan is born and he loves him more than anything, even more than he loves Maddie, who is nine and pinches him when he tells her. It leaves a horrible bruise because everything seems to bruise him these days, and their father yells at her so loudly that she cries. Daniel can’t go home from the hospital anymore, but he wishes they were in his room and could make a fort with his blankets and he could tell her he’s sorry she got in trouble and maybe the baby could hang out with them too. All three of them together and nobody sick and nobody pinched and nobody yelled at. He thinks if he’s still alive on his ninth birthday that’s what he'll wish for.

kindergarten lore is so deep actually. who was the monster bob fought initially? why was the female principal's first reaction to the apocolypse 'it's over' rather than any sort of attempt to stop/find out what was happening? what does applesoft actually do? why were the monsters different colours? what did both the principals actually want to achieve with their experiments? how did agnes know about the monstermon war? what's nugget's whole deal with the loops? why is margaret 'like that'?? i have so many questions.
