My first though was María as in María herrera, and then I realize you are talking about Jorge's girlfriend. I don't really follow any rider partner, so I'm pretty out of it.

This idea has not escaped my brain for the whole afternoon, so you hear me out.

Alternative universe where Aleix is a single father raising a teen (Fermín) and the twins. He is doing everything in his power, but it's difficult, so he can't always be at home when he is needed. Like for example help his son Fermín with his homework (science maybe?), so he ends up hiring a private tutor, who can also help with the twins. Enter Jorge, a University student who needs the money.

Little by little, Jorge starts to spend more time and not only the required because Aleix is having to take more and more shifts and staying late. And then one day, Aleix arrives home expecting Fermín being up waiting for them to have dinner, but instead it's Jorge because [insert reason]. And then it's just their regular occurrence.

And then the year ends, and Jorge is supposed to graduate and search for a regular job, but the next year comes and he is still there, playing with the twins, helping Fermín with the homework and making dinner for Aleix and waiting for him.
