First, the leadership of Take Back Alberta has been in turmoil following the election that brought Danielle Smith to power. Now, TBA’s former Chief Financial Officer says the group is facing an audit from Elections Alberta over its finances and donation records. TBA’s former CFO Marco Van Huigenbos says he was recently contacted by an Elections Alberta “investigator” to possibly “open the books” on the third-party group’s financial reporting, including for the election where it reported zero donations and zero expenditures as a registered election advertiser.

So back story is:

Shiloh has joined the SBR to ensure he keeps his inheritance from his dead grandparents. Won't go into too much detail as I don't feel like tagging or censoring, but Shiloh's dad is an abusive POS. All he wants is to buy some land far away from his home and have a little farm of his own. He's the oldest of 5 siblings. He is from Texas, iirc Dallas, to be specific? Or at least the Dallas area.

I am still working on the details on meeting Johnny and Gyro. But I'm vibing with Gyro approaches Shiloh at a checkpoint bar. He sees Shiloh sitting all by himself, and Shiloh is what we would call a "pretty boy" in looks. So naturally, Gyro is drawn to him... though later, Gyro reveals he felt literally drawn to Shiloh. As if they were meant to meet each other. (Yes, ShiYro has the soulmates dynamic that plays in every AU)

Shiloh is a tsundere, and while yes, he too feels drawn to Gyro. He immediately blows him off. I suppose I could make it where Gyro vaguely invites Shiloh to join him and Johnny. That sounds like a possible thing he'd do.

Heading into now, Gyro hc territory: So this came from my friend, but Gyro writes home. He loves his family dearly. So when he meets Shiloh and starts doing this race with him and getting to spend time with him. He writes home about how much he loves and adores this man.

Anyways, gotta drop this factoid somewhere: Gyro knows Shiloh is AFAB not because of his "medical" background but because of him accidentally walking in on Shiloh mid shower/bath. He never treated Shiloh any different after learning this fact, nor did he ever tell anyone Shiloh's secret. This put Gyro on good terms with Shiloh. He knew he could definitely trust Gyro after that incident.

Later on, Gyro tells Shiloh why he's doing this race and Shiloh's reasoning for being in this race change. He chooses to actively help Gyro win first place. He wants to bring Marco to America so that they all can become a family. Shiloh agrees to adopt Marco with Gyro and that the three of them will live on a big lot of land and have a big happy family together after the race.

      Sabo was really trying to not stare, but what could he do when the person who had caught his interest throughout the years was currently looking so irresistibly good on deck; training like there was no tomorrow. It was exactly 14 years ago since pops had accepted Ace, Lu and him into his care and Sabo can say without a doubt that he couldn’t have been happier for that having happened as his life before his current family had been horrible as his old family - if you could even call them that - had been a bunch of stuck up nobles who hadn’t cared for treating a child like a child should be treated, no, they had made life beyond difficult, leaving scars both mental and physical ones with their actions and Sabo could swear upon the sea goddess that he hated them, all the way from the tips of his fingers to his toes. He was just glad that he now had a real family who cared for him and cherished him and his brothers as well, not that, he didn’t have a lot of those now, however, Ace and Lu would always have a very special spot in his heart never mind what.

Back to the topic of who his eyes were glued to which was none other than Marco the Phoenix, the first division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, who had been his mentor throughout the years and who had helped him more than any other onboard their home, even pops though, pops helped in a different way; a more fatherly way which was nothing like the blond male a few meters away from him, however, that didn’t make Sabo any less grateful of course.

Deciding to finally go over to the taller male, Sabo smiled while ignoring the way a certain freckled brother of his snickered at him before he decided to speak up,

 “  Marco, would you mind doing some haki training with me?                                                   There is still some things I don’t quite get.. “  Was it an excuse? Yes, perhaps, but Sabo did though grasp quite a few things, however, if it meant that he could use some time with the normally very busy first division commander, then he would use such an excuse.

Road to the New Beginning Night 3 - 1/29/2018: KUSHIDA’s NJPW Farewell; Updated Giant Baba Memorial Show Card

The tour continued today, with a match that sees the end of the NJPW career of Yujiro Kushida, best known as KUSHIDA around these parts. You can see it now on NJPWWorld.

Kushida's origins were actually based in MMA, as his first training was in the Takada Dojo run by the legendary Nobuhiko Takada, training under Takumi Adachi. He began training during junior high school, debuting in the MMA promotion ZST in 2003, where he would win their Genesis Lightweight Tournament in 2004, ending his MMA career with 6 wins, 2 draws, 0 losses, while also attending Senshu University and working part-time for Tokyo Sports. It is generally assumed that Kushida's pro wrestling debut was in Takada's HUSTLE promotion in 2006, however he first debuted in Mexico in 2005 after learning lucha libre under El Oriental.

During his time in HUSTLE, Kushida would also work matches in All Japan Pro Wrestling and Osaka Pro. He left HUSTLE in 2009 after what amounted to a "loser leaves town" match, which lead to Kushida going abroad, wrestling all over North America, in Canada, Mexico and the USA, notably Chikara and OVW. In 2010, he would join Yoshihiro Tajiri's SMASH promotion, which is what got him into NJPW, with an appearance in 2010's edition of Best of the Super Juniors.

Kushida's NJPW career proper began on 4/1/2011, and the rest, as they say, is history. During his NJPW career, KUSHIDA became one of the best and most popular junior heavyweight wrestlers in the entire world, first as one-half of the Time Splitters tag team, with the now-retired Alex Shelley, winning the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team titles twice, as well as 2012's Super Jr. Tag Tournament. As a singles wrestler, KUSHIDA is a 6-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight champion and 2-time winner of Best of the Super Juniors, along the way having massively popular feuds with Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay and Hiromu Takahashi. Outside of NJPW, KUSHIDA was also the winner of the (ill-fated) 2016 Super J-Cup, the 2017 WhatCulture Pro Wrestling World Cup, and was even an ROH World Television Champion for a little while. He even managed to win the 2016 Cuadrangular de Parejas tag tournament in CMLL, along with partner Marco Corleone, and was #20 in Pro Wrestling Illustrated's yearly PWI 500 list in 2017.

I don't think it's hyperbole to say that KUSHIDA's departure is a loss for NJPW, and in very many ways, a lost opportunity. I think he should have had a shot at competing in the heavyweights, as had been rumored for the last few years, and it's bittersweet that in his final match for the company, he finally gets a singles match with Hiroshi Tanahashi. He's been one of the best, most consistent workers in NJPW in his time with the company, and he will be missed around here. Best of luck to him, whereever he may end up.

It really shouldn’t come as a surprise that KUSHIDA lost his farewell match, but even so... KUSHIDA gave a speech at the end, thanking everyone for the last 8 years, but said he was leaving now. Jay White did attack Tanahashi post-main, much as Fale hit Okada (and Uemura!) with Grenade, and Naito did to Taichi with Destino. Ren Narita v. Yuya Uemura is getting rave reviews in some corners, and I am inclined to agree.

More matches have been announced for the Giant Baba Memorial show at Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan on 2/19/2019. Thus far, no further matches with (current) NJPW talents have been announced, however it is confirmed that both Hiroshi Tanahashi and Tomoaki Honma (the latter of whom has also worked in AJPW and BJW) will be there, as well as current Triple Crown champion Kento Miyahara. Of all people, Atsushi Onita will ALSO be on this show, in an 8-man street fight. Just have a look at the card below. It’s going to be a mixed bag but should be a fun one.

(approx. 2 1/2 - 3 hour drive) * Santa Maria to Los Olivis for Lunch arrive approx 11:45am (approx. 30 minute drive) * Los Olivos to Neverland Gates, arrive approx 01:00 pm (approx. 10 - 15 minute drive) * Stay at Neverland gates for approx 1-2 hours. * At approx 3:00pm, drive back to Hollywood, arrive approx 5:30pm (2 - 2 1/2 hour drive depending on traffic).
