Chilchuck: How can you two sleep when Senshi is getting his ass ate by my edgy clone!
Laios: I can sleep just fine and Marcille passed out. I don't really see why you're having so much trouble.
Chilchuck: IT SOUNDS LIKE THE MINECRAFT EATING SOUND EFFECT!
Distant Senshi That Is Muffled From The Sounds Of Minecraft Eating SFX: Now you see this is an additional reason why it's important to make dried slime. Not only does it add to the efficiency of the current task, but it also adds a unique flavor profile to the act that most people miss out on.

Both.
(Note for unknowing misgendering, as Rimuru explicitly looks feminine and the Laios group don’t get the chance to learn his pronouns for a while.)
This is assuming the mad mage summoned Rimuru, and failed to control him, thus Rimuru is now hunting the Mage to A) ensure any lingering control spells on him are broken, and B) force him to send Rimuru back to Tempest.
The group would either accidentally antagonize him (and ultimately flee) or they’d see him in a battle with something/one else without being noticed themselves. Either way, they’d find or have some small bit of his mass, separated from the rest of him, and use it in a sauce. Given Rimuru’s nature, they probably found it to be high in mana and used it to help Marcille replenish her own mana storage. Then they’d all get weird dreams as they unknowingly forged psychic connections to Rimuru by eating that, and can see through his eyes in their sleep. Though I should mention, in order for the group to Eat part of Rimuru, they would have to only see his slime form- no humanoids after all. And I imagine the dreams probably feature more humanoid-Rimuru, so it takes them a while to connect the strange “girl” they see in their dreams with the mana-rich slime creature they ate a bit of a while ago.
Of course connections go two ways, and Rimuru might sense them observing him. Since Rimuru is hunting the mage the group might get to see him do some truly crazy shit, which means him observing them freaks them out even more. And, honestly, there’s a good chance some of Rimuru’s Skills will be unknowingly absorbed by the Laios party- which will freak the group out even more since this is NOT a form of magic they recognize. When they realize they’re seeing the same kind of insane magic in their shared weird-girl-hunting-the-mad-mage-dreams, things get weirder. Then when they find the aftermath of a battle some of them saw in a dream, proving these dreams are real, the group has to sit and discuss what’s going on, who the girl is, and why she’s got her eyes on THEM. During said conversation Laios realizes that he saw Rimuru’s slime form during those battle dreams, and realizes that the “strange creature” they ate residue/flesh/liquid/whatever from is still alive, way more powerful than they thought, and they’d unknowingly somehow forged connections- possibly soul connections- with it/“her”. If they fought Rimuru directly to get the initial slime-flesh they ate, Senshi guesses they didn’t actually outrun it/“her”, but rather it/“she” decided they weren’t worth the trouble to chase. Probably didn’t even notice or lose anything of value in the small flesh- or rather, secretions- they ate.
Rimuru on the other hand would be able to track down the party as soon as he realizes there IS a connection definitively.
But ultimately, regardless of who instigates irl communication between them, the meeting is shockingly peaceful. The Laios group would know better than to attack a second time. And Rimuru isn’t picking a fight. Ultimately both sides explain things, and all is forgiven on Rimuru’s side. He might even offer to give Marcille something to help her replenish mana in the future (in response to his flesh being primarily eaten to help her in that), but if she refuses on the basis of that being too much for one person, he might instead enchant/modify part of the dungeon to create a mana-supplying pool, albeit one with limitations since he knows he won’t be there to generate power for it forever and knows it would be a terrible solution to a problem if it just makes more problems. Senshi has opinions on this, and surprisingly to the rest of the group Rimuru is happy to listen and make adjustments based on Senshi’s explanations of the dungeon ecosystem. Honestly by this point Rimuru has told them he’s from another world, and he’s insanely powerful, but because he’s an alien they don’t know what rules he operates by and thus don’t know what might set him off.
The Laios party will freak Rimuru out when he figures out what’s going on. Since slimes are often a delicacy back home, and holy shit these people are insane what if they decide to try to finish the rest of him?
Regardless of what follows, Rimuru isn’t going home until the mad mage has been taken down. Might as well join this party of adventurers! Might be fun! And of course the party is all the more anxious about Rimuru not. Leaving. Them. Alone.
Ok but what if Rimuru Tempest was in Delicious in Dungeon
Would he get eaten or become more powerful then the damn magician 😭??

Delicious in Dungeon
Volume 1 manga
Summary:
When young adventure Laios and his company are attacked and soundly thrashed by a dragon deep in a dungeon, the party loses all its money and provisions....and a member! They're eager to go back and save her, but there is just one problem. If they set out with no food or coin to speak of, they're sure to starve on the way! But Laios comes up with a brilliant idea: "Let's eat the monsters!" Slimes, basilisk, and even dragons....none are safe from the appetites of these dungeon crawling gourmands.
The Red Dragon
Look at all the things you need to be an adventure, they cover everything even toilet paper. I love it.
I cant stop looking at the food pyramids, Laios is just so serious about this.
So they're going to eat the dragon that ate their friend, so are they eating their friend? I'm concerned here. 🤨🤔
Well Marcille you want fruit this is what you get.
Really Laios I dont need to know about your kinks. I promise, and also Marcille may just kill you. It's to soon.
I have so many questions about your thoughts process for hanging a dead body from a rope. Does it not look werid at all?! How did you decide on this?

Yes and no! (I have adhd and texture sensitivities, so this will be a very honest review)
My favorites were the scorpion (lobster) and seaweed (wakame and broccoli)! I made the broth out of a combination of dashi stock, dark miso paste, and a splash of soy sauce.
The invertatoes (white yam) weren’t bad either, just denser than a regular potato (I waited on potatoes, because the mandrakes later in the story take on a role like potatoes in the omelette).
The sensory experience of the walking mushrooms (king oyster mushrooms) was a bit unpleasant but the flavor they add to the dish is good— I cut the tops off to use as the x crossed ones and then cut the body up. The stem was tough and rubbery and a bit slimy. The top was similar but absorbed even more liquid.
The slime noodles I made with a glass noodle recipe and added pandan extract for the color were exactly what you imagine noodles made out of a slime would be like.
Slimy. Hard to chew. Gag inducing.
I still ate some for the experience but I couldn’t get a lot of it down (they were literally just potato starch, so it wasn’t much food wasting).
I think the cooking experience (figuring out how to create an accurate but doable recipe) and understanding how the characters felt about the meal (Marcille. I am with you on this one) made the entire process worthwhile ⚔️🥘🏰
The first Dungeon Meshi recipe has been completed! ⚔️🥘🏰
#heheh thank you for letting me ramble#i’m willing to do a review for all the other recipes when they’re done too!#dungeon meshi#dunmeshi

✲ It was a... what? Marcille could scarcely believe it! She was familiar with prosthetics, but one you could see through? That didn't make sense. Plus it was talking! She moved closer and raised a hand to his ear, whispering.
"Is it actually a slime that ate your eyeball? Blink three times if it's holding you hostage!"
"Oh, that's just Tama." A pause, and a reminder that walking eyeballs weren't usually normal. "She's, uh, my prosthetic eye."
"I like to stretch my legs every now and then. It's nice having the option, y'know?"
