[Trinidad & Tobago History🇹🇹] On this day 51 years ago, as part of the Black Power Revolution (now being called the Trinidad and Tobago Revolution), the march to Caroni took place on March 12, 1970, when thousands of people, mainly African-Trinidadian, went to Central Trinidad in a gesture of solidarity. There was a massive banner which said “Indians and Africans Unite Now”. The slogan became a permanent fixture. The day before, NJAC leader Makandal Daaga, then called Geddes Granger, announced that NJAC and the people were going to march to Caroni. The principle of national unity was the objective. @dominickalipersad Kalipersad . . #blackpower #ttrevolution #revolution #marchtocaroni #indiansandafricansunite #racialunity #diversity #culture #tthistory #vintagetrinidad . #carnival #trinidad #soca #trinidadandtobago #carnivalcruise #trinidadcarnival #socamusic #carnivalparty #socatrucks https://www.instagram.com/p/CMW9Kq_BlLJ/?igshid=63c6zilfvpv6
