March is over. I still cannot believe it. But apparently yes, it is now April. So it is time for the books I finished in March: 🔸 The Hazel Wood. I’m glad I read it but it does not live to the hype. Which is a shame. And there are some serious issues which were handled very badly. 🔸 Tender is The Night. Sadly, a DNF. 🔸 Middlemarch. This was such a difficult yet satisfactory read. 🔸 Bless Me, Ultima. My first 5-star read. I loved it but I can see it is not for everybody. 🔸 Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. I’ve talked about this book before and there are some things which aren’t handled as best they could but I enjoyed reading Eleanor’s story and it made me smile. 🔸 Possession. Had to read this for Uni and it was, let me tell you, a tedious task. The last 150 pages were fine and the ending is a satisfactory one but nothing can make up for the struggle it was to read this and not because it was difficult to read — I wasn’t, at all — but it was boring as hell. • • Marzo nos deja y ya puedo hablar de las lecturas de este mes: 🔸The Hazel Wood. I think that there are so many different books that we read in a lifetime that can affect us profoundly, change our way of thinking, or be exactly what we needed at the moment to choose just one to call an all time favorite. Perhaps not everyone feels the same way as I do. That's why I would like for you to tell me what makes something an all time favorite for you? (this isn't exclusively about books) ° ° I've finally made it to the second part of Emma and I hope that I'll finish this book by Tuesday, that way I can get to start reading my library books 😄 I've found that if I read a book that is time consuming (Emma is only 450+ pages but because the writing isn't very fast paced and there are a lot of instances where I have to stop and look up words 😒) I need to read other, smaller books, every ten chapters. Until I read The Little Prince I could feel myself sliding into a reading slump because I didn't feel as if I was advancing with the book and wanted a change. #marchbookstagram Day Sixteen: Yellow and Gold! Screw it, I've decided that seeing as Mikee and Cait are giving us this opportunity to make a rainbow...I'm gonna make the rainbow! So I'll only be posting the once for the next day or two! Sorry I've been so quiet today, but it was my birthday! I'm not going to lie, it was kind of a crappy day. Definitely not best birthday ever material BUT you guys over here and on Twitter with your birthday messages and GIFs and stuff really made my day and my frown was turned upside down 😉 so thank you all for being so supportive and kind! And then you know...Naz, Shazina and Becca casually making me choke up with their messages and by totally spoiling me 💛 I genuinely love this community so much because I've met some really great people through it and made some amazing friends! Now back to bookstagram! Today's theme was yellow and gold and I really don't like the colour yellow that much but I had a surprising amount of yellow books! I had to feature Gilded Cage, I really loved it! It starts a little slow but it gets so, so good! And the cover is gorgeous! Question of the day...dogs or cats? I ask because I spent all day with a dog glued to me! Has anyone else read Gilded Cage?
