17th of March 2014. 10 years ago today, I bought my first smartphone. It was a Samsung Galaxy S2+. The Galaxy S5 was coming out in a few days back then, but as a student, there was no way I could afford it. I had to save money for a couple of years to put together those 210 euros I needed for the S2+ model, and there was no way I could afford to buy a newer version. But I wasn't sad. I was the happiest. I went with a group of friends to buy it, and we were all very excited. My best friend had a Nokia Lumia, but having a Samsung Galaxy was fancier back then, so my new smartphone was about to become the main character real soon. Finally, we were about to have a good device (8-megapixel camera) to capture memories. I exited the store and was impatiently waiting to go home to unbox it. I found my mom and my little brother waiting for me. Both were also very excited. I unboxed it carefully and went out to the balcony to take my first photo. The 17th of March 2014 was a beautiful, sunny day. Life was good. I was happy.

The next day in the auditorium, my friends were taking turns admiring it. We were taking selfies and playing games. It didn't last long because all of them got new smartphones in the coming weeks, and mine became old very soon. I still kept it with me for the next 5 years, and more than half of the pictures on this blog were captured by it. My Samsung Galaxy S2+ device now lies peacefully in one of my room drawers, always reminding me of people, places, moments, and feelings whenever I put it in my hand. There was a time when it looked like we didn't have much but still had everything.

hello anon :3 pretty sure i've mentioned all of this in some capacity b4 and much has been covered in depth by greater scholars than myself but here are some 814 charactization quirks i'm fond of ↓

oscar resignedly accepting his own attraction to lando but choosing not to act on it because well..... it is what it is. in his mind being 4 tenths off his teammate is a more immediately pressing matter than lando fake moaning from an icebath 2 feet away [clenched fists]

lando subtly looking out for oscar, especially march-may of last year because he distinctly remembers his own rookie season (see: the "it's a lot, isn't it" exchange in the melbourne unboxed, giving oscar endless opportunities to redeem himself in challenges etc). i think part of it was him not knowing how much of oscar's quietness was a factor of the explosive feeder series to f1 jump and how much is his actual personality but wanting him to feel comfortable either way. also just lando being endlessly curious about this guy who is just a guy... because oscar is lowkey a lot funnier (to lando) than the general public's flat/boring diagnosis gives him credit for

a sort of blase level of comfort and wordless communication (see: virgin radio with zak brown) and also in general communicating via just. noises (the yes/no challenge is an esp egregious example of this like why are u bleating at each other. nvm) to borrow an oscar term here: they're low-frequency! bc while lando has a tendency to match the energy of whoever he's with (vs oscar who's pretty much always the same lol) imo at their core 814 are both different flavours of introverts so when they're together it's just kinda. chill

oscar being deeply tolerant of all of lando's idiosyncrasies and even assimilating to his rhythm... eating the same pre-race meal as lando/changing his answer's to match lando's in the who's most likely to vid/listening to lando's music through their shared wall/"are you ready oscar piastri" "i'm ready lando norris"... insanity

a measurable give and take because as indulgent as oscar can be he will rib lando and give him if not a hard time certainly A Time. basically oscar having a spine... but also bending to lando's whims... it's a fine balance

rating each other as drivers...... sure oscar is a well-socialized young man who can (occasionally) pretend net competence has a lot of moving parts and lando genuinely likes a lot of people he doesn't rate (real) but when it boils down to it the fact that they both think v highly of the others' skill as drivers (oscar constantly calling lando one of the quickest guys on the grid, lando saying his recent run of form is in part due to oscar being good enough in his own right to push him, "i mean, he already is") adds a whole new layer of intrigue. bc even when they get along there's that undercurrent of caution/what's he gonna do next/etc and who kneowsss how this aspect of their relationahip is going to evolve over the next three (3!!!) years together as teammates but i for one can't wait to watch :')

a short life update

it's been a while since i've posted. i wanted to share a few things that have been going on with me. back in March i started getting mental health help through a local psychiatry program and was diagnosed with ADHD. i began taking a new medication on top of my antidepressant and was referred for a full psych evaluation. once I spoke with my psychiatrist, she started me on a third medication for anxiety that I can take as needed. she also gave me a referral for a therapist.

i had my first therapy session two days ago and I still feel kind of emotionally exhausted from it after having to bring up a few stressful topics. overall i'm equal parts nervous and excited to finally unbox some of the trauma I've experienced in my life.

it was recommended that I keep a journal for therapy. I used to journal regularly but life got in the way and it became less and less of a priority. I did make a couple of entries over the weekend, though, but I don't have too much to write about as of late.

aside from my mental health, I've been dealing with the day to day stresses of being a mom, wife, and homemaker. my three year old broke his collarbone last week and my 17 month old is now at the age where everything is fascinating and must be touched. my husband works an insane amount of hours for the railroad and hasn't been able to do much besides eat and sleep. so, it's been a hell of a few months to say the least.

i'm still around-ish, but i'm spending more time in books and with my family than I am on the internet. earlier this year I finished the ACOTAR series and took several weeks to regroup. I finished a book called Credence this weekend and am trying to choose between two other books at the moment.

anyway, that's about it. if I get any downtime this coming week I will try to add some things to my queue now that Tumblr is once again fresh in my mind. if I don't, i'll pop back in eventually.

JSAUX Nylon Braided Cords (Micro USB/Lighting) - Part 1 (first half recorded) (Apr. 6th, 2024)

After going through my Fintie Slim Case review two weeks later, I’m now finally moving with the next one that me and to one of my closest friends are been waiting for. This here’s my two related items from Mar. 12th to the 24th (even after on the 25th that I’d eventually got my new tablet case as I’d mentioned).

⬆️ (1st to 2nd images; from March 2024 after obtained these packages from Amazon.com)

Say hello to my new charging cables of 2024. Guess you’ve never expected to have two new charging cable I’d asked my mom to ordered from Amazon.com last month. You see, I’d originally planned to have just one charging cable for my Samsung Tab E device; especially what happened to my original usb cable years later. Link Here

Though I was thinking of getting a second charging cable for my recent iPad device I’m holding. It wasn’t a bad suggestion or anything, but sure glad to save up both boxes as of this writing. On the left (Dated: Mar. 12th) was the first one to obtained, but also said that it only supported on Apple devices such as phones or tablets. Meanwhile on the right (Dated: Mar. 24th) is a second delivery I’d been waited for days later. At least now knowing that this is the one for my android device to set up with. Sure looks identical on both of their box designs, but doesn’t mean they’re in a same sizes when saving in comparison soon. Same goes when doing the unboxing part that you wanted to see.

Saving it at the end of March 2024; during in the afternoon is where I’d made some comparisons with both boxes. As you might of guess, it was pretty much different in sizes as expected to be. Guess what I’m doing the unboxing part first? Though nevertheless, it was not bad from the beginning for each boxes I’d compared to.

⬆️ (7th through 10th Images; from 2:38 to 2:46 P.M.)

I’m now moving on with the unboxing part within seconds later. Gotta say, it looked unique than my other original cables I’ve been using for years. This time, they’re nylon braided colored red and blue cables in display. I’ve been waited to get one of those that promised for strength and protection, but also hoping that can work for any devices to charge well without error.

So anyways, the first one is the blue Micro-USB cable(s), but never expected of owning two cables in one box before. Sure, I can save the second cable if I’d possibly lost the first cable to find; at least not necessarily. That being said, I think having two cables for myself was an odd yet thoughtful choice to take. So I don’t see why not it was worth it.

Nevertheless, as I’d continued on is having a small booklet to mostly its elastic straps. That’s good news to see it came from the box. 😃👍 Now I can wrapped around them unlike some other original cables In tangled mess. Though I have been using bread ties as alternatives, but sometimes it might break easily if pulling it too much. Thank goodness now that I’d had some elastic straps for the first time. Same goes to my red colored Lighting cable; at least for just one strap made.

⬆️ (11th through 13th Images; on Apr. 6th, 2024 from 7:36 to 7:38 A.M.)

Now this here I've been saving for this month later, but finally got to test out with my blue Micro-USB cable onto my older Samsung device; during the afternoon. I'm sure everyone and mostly one of my friends are hoping to see; if it can detect while charging through my old tablet that is.

Before I can set things up, I'd loosing up those two white rubber bands that was secure from said usb cable packaging. As for how long does this item is? Just about 6.6 ft actually. Now if I can save some time to compared with my original Samsung cable later in extras. Also, another look of this elastic strap as I'd notice there's two of them sticking together. So that’s explained why I’d gotten two cables in one box/package, but should’ve show of myself taking each elastic straps off together before moving on. 🤷‍♂️

Next up, I’d used this recent adaptive Samsung charger to connect with my new charging cable. Believe or not, this still works that I’d been using it for my older Samsung device years later. Until its original usb cable gotten worn down and aged you’d already seen before. At least knowing its adaptive charger still running well as I’d connected to my older device again. Nice! 😉👍

⬆️ (22nd through 25th Images; from 7:59 to 8:00 A.M.)

With that, I’d eventually turn on my android device shortly after taking some photos out of it. Looks promising so far, but it was odd that where the progress begin at 11% of battery life from the start. It should’ve been from the beginning at zero percentage after letting my device running dry days later. Nevertheless, at least that’s all according to my plans as of this recording.

⬆️ (26th through 28th Images; from 8:01/8:02 to 12:35 P.M.)

And now after waited through hours; while keeping an eye of exact timing, my older Samsung device now fully charged at 🔋100% of battery life. Good! 😁👍 I’m really glad to see it lit up again, but also with my 128GB SanDisk card that kept with my photos/drawings I’d been transferred to. At least it still there after few years later, but sure does felt like forever to be honest. Getting back to this review though, my new charging cable did an fine job albeit slightly than I would’ve hoped. You see when examining the time through with some photos; from 8 to 12 P.M., it took about 5 hours of charging up my older Samsung tablet device. Not exactly for quick charging results to have. That being said, it did tried its best of helping my device out without some issues. With having the nylon braided material for hopes of better protection, consider my original Samsung cable being replaced.

My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: ⬇️

As far as this first parter, testing out with my new micro-usb cable wasn’t too bad during this review. Despite having to wait around five hours or less, it still detect to my older Samsung tablet for the first time I’d connected with. At least now it helped fully charged up once more.

Hope you guys enjoy this review, but sorry if I’d been keeping this waited from weeks ago. Though stay tuned as I’m saving for the second parter soon. Until then, I’ll be taking some break time already.

Thank you for the request! I've made scenarios of this in my mind (to make it more realistic as a situation) and I decided to not include smutty things in this short fanfic, but I'm willing to continue this story since the prompt is good! -> this is the second fanfic for the "Smoker's Birthday event", the last one will be published on March 18th! The gift was wrapped in dark matt paper, with an elegant red ribbon and a little note placed on top of it. There was nothing more on Smoker's desk inside his marine base's office, fortunately, he didn't have documents to deal with on the day of his birthday.  He entered the room expecting to find his table empty but it wasn't since there was a present for him. A curious look appeared on Smoker's face. Someone gave him a present? He approached the desk to pick up the gift and to shake it a little: it wasn't quite heavy.  As he noticed the little note on top of it, Smoker grabbed the paper to read it. "Happy Birthday Smo-yan ♥" was written on it. Only G-5 marines used to call him like that. Two letters were also written at the bottom of the message (the first letter of your name and surname) but Smoker couldn't connect these capital letters to your name.  He started to unbox his gift, what could it be? Probably the most reasonable present he could receive, but yet the one he appreciates the most: cigars. They weren't cheap cigars, tough, Smoker recognized in a second that they were some good ones, probably from another part of the world where they produce the best variety of those.  As he grabs one to try it, Smoker hears someone knocking at his door's office. He lets out a huff in disappointment since someone is ruining that moment. "Come in. What do you want?" he says with a rough tone of voice without even knowing who is banging at his door.  Your head pops out in the room, you're too excited to be bothered by his tone of voice, furthermore, he's almost every time like that. "Did you like it?" you ask him giggling. He turns toward you since he wasn't facing the door right now. His cheeks turn pink as he sees you standing behind him.  "W-what?" he replies as if he didn't understand your question. You point at the cigars on the table. "Did you like those??", a wide smile spreads on your face seeing Smoker already holding one in hand.  "Is it yours?" he seems a little shocked knowing that you gave him that gift. "Well, I suppose it's yours now, Smo-yan" you can't help but smile seeing him so surprised.  You know he appreciated your gift, but you want him to tell you directly.  "Yes, I love it..." he says as he scratches the back of his head, flustered a bit saying that. You were his favourite marine in all the G-5, not because you were the strongest or the most diligent one, there was something about you that made his head dizzy and his heart flutter and he couldn't explain what it was to himself.  He isn't the kind of person who likes having people around, but he doesn't feel bothered in any way by your presence, on the contrary, he feels like he wants to have you not only around but also near him.  He found himself thinking about you a lot of times, his eyes fixed on you while you were working in the G-5 with him. His thoughts weren't about work at that moment, though, and his cheeks became red every time he realised how inappropriate his thoughts were.  "Thank you..." he whispers. You noticed in a moment how flustered he was as soon he expressed his gratitude towards you. It's like he's about to tell you something. "What is it, Smoker? Are you okay?" you tilt slightly your head as you say so. "Y-yes. I was wondering if you... well, if you are free tonight" he asks. You can't believe your ears, you thought he had some kind of feelings towards you but you didn't expect him to expose himself like that.  "Are you for real?" your eyes shine as you say so, you can't hide your excitement.

"Yes of course!" he says without hesitation.  "Yes, I am... is that a date?" you smirk as you say so. He tries to keep himself calm and serious hiding his shyness.  Smoker comes towards you and gazes into your eyes. "It is, this whole time I've wanted to ask you."

Your knees tremble a bit as you look up at him, raising your head to look him in the eyes, he's standing right in front of you.  The butterflies in your stomach flutter a lot, Smoker's presence made you feel that way every time you were around him, but you never felt intimidated by him like everyone else once. 

At that exact moment that sensation was stronger than ever, probably it was already love and you didn't know. His hand moves your hair away from your face and places it behind your ear, you can't move at all at that moment as you are hypnotized by his moves. He smiles, that's so rare of him that you smile back instinctively. 

"I'll see you at nine, then?" he asks. "Sure" you reply with joy in your voice. He takes a step back realizing how close to you it is and blushes a bit. 

You can't help but chuckle while you wave at him exiting his office, knowing he's looking forward to seeing you tonight. And so do you.
