crowley's whole range of human and non-human expression from the final fifteen, but it's an honest reaction to finding out the shitshow of his life is actually considered a "comedy"

Just saw Luis Mesa's tweet saying that in fact, Daniel fell/would feel in love with Betty BEFORE her transformation and I'm spiraling because it makes sense the Betty/Daniel parallels in the first chapters, he going mad with Patricia because she blocked Betty's computer, he literally says that he's after Armando's head, not Betty's; also asking her why she looks so scared when she sees him with a reflective look. Also when he heard about Betty's boyfriend, he goes full mad to humiliate session on her look BUT he actually saw her look literally minutes ago and didn't said nothing.
I think it would be kinda interesting but in telenovelas, the guión is decided by the audience so it was only Betty/Armando without a triangle (Nicolas doesn't count ajsksks) until Michel.
What do you think YSBLF would go if they went with Daniel/Betty/Armando?
HIIII
Omgggg someone pls send me a screenshot or something!! I need tl see this!!! I'm usually not a big fan of what the actors say, but this one I kinda believe it lmao
I thought for a very long while when watching for the firdt time that Daniel was eventually going to go after Betty! I thiught he would fall for her or at least want "something" with her... not actual love, perhaps, but you know, SOMETHING... but no!
I hadn't noticed some of the details you're mentioning! I did see the parallels at the beginning, and how Betty pretty much falls perfectly in lone with what Daniel looks for in a woman. I also noticed that he seemed to genuinely find humour in his talks to Betty but didn't like her winning the arguments. I also noticed he was surprised with how scared she was of him! But that thing about his reaction to hearing Betty has a bf?? Uf, I hadn't noticed or made the connection!!! I will definitely pay more attention to Daniel this rewatch!
Uff what a hard question!! It'd be very difficult to know how it'd go, and things can change so much depending on when Daniel were to be interested in Betty. I think that if the initial idea was to make Daniel actually eventually fall in love, it was a short lived idea, because Daniel never even shows a bjt of kindness like Armando does. I mean, Daniel is a pretty twisted man and a bit sadistic. I imagine that if they had actually wanted to make Daniel a love rival, Daniel's personality and wickedness would have been softened.
I've been writing a fanfic about this (not a D/B, but he still pursues her), and in my vision, I think he'd need to see her physical potential for beauty. Pretty much like Armando, Daniel also feels attraction for Betty but is repelled by her looks. Armando was forced to bream this barriers during the Sinister Plan, but I think Daniel would only break them if he saw Betty improving her appearence. He seemed to me a more superficial man compared to Armando, and I don't think Daniel would ever even consider going public.
I definitely think that Armando would be losing his head over the idea of TWO men going after Betty tho (Nicolás and Daniel) lmaooo also Mario would have a hell of a time laughing about it. Marcela would be FURIOUS about it. Patricia would feel humiliated thinking that Daniel could have had her and instead chose BETTY. And Betty herself would be HORRIFIED, because she hates his guts lmaooo straight up the only way she would ever tolarate him was with blackmails (cough cough like about the Panamá illegal businesses or something cough cough)
It's still a very interesting take! I definitely see where it comes from but I also think this idea was too quickly forgotten. I wouldn't even know where the AU could start for Daniel to be a proper love rival!
Thank you for the lovely question!! Sorry if I couldn't elaborate much🥲

bitch I'd forgotten Marcela had plotted out a scheme to win back Armando when it seemed like Betty was leaving with Michel. Bitch after the breakup. After Armando very clearly told her he was definitely breaking up with her because he was not in love with her anymore and the relationship would only hurt them both. Marcela is seeing, with both her eyes, how Armando is fuming jealous of Michel, for Betty, AND SHE SEES IT AS HER CHANCE, she thinks Armando will finally give up on Betty seeing that he has no chance with her (even tho he told her he didn't have hopes and he wasn't breaking up with her just to try to be back together with Betty) and she's planning to support him be the president of Ecomoda again and therefore win him back. She's planning and willing to continue and perpetuate the vicious circle where she's always there waiting for Armando to get back to her after fucking up, making him feel morally and sentimentally indebted and him knowing she will always be there waiting for him no matter how bad he fucks up. THE CIRCLE HE TOLD HER HE WAS SAVING HER FROM, BY BREAKING UP WITH HER. I hope. She. Learns

Mexico will have its first woman president following a landmark vote on June 2, 2024.
After an election period marred by violence, ruling Morena party candidate Claudia Sheinbaum, a former Mexico City mayor, emerged as the victor with about 60% of the vote – a larger share of the vote than her mentor and predecessor, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, won in 2018. Sheinbaum beat rival Xóchitl Gálvez, a senator for the center-right National Action Party, who trailed with less than 30% of the vote.
Acknowledging the significance of the occasion, Sheinbaum said: “For the first time in the 200 years of the republic I will become the first woman president of Mexico.”
But as scholars who study politics and gender in Mexico, we know that optics are one thing, actual power another. Seventy years after women won the right to vote in Mexico, is the country moving any closer to making changes that would give women real equality?
Uneven fight for gender equality
Women now represent half of Congress, after electoral reforms nearly a decade ago mandated gender parity in nominations to Mexico’s legislatures. And two women, Ana Lilia Rivera and Marcela Guerra Castillo, occupy the top posts in both chambers of Congress. Meanwhile, Norma Lucía Piña is the first woman to serve as chief justice of Mexico’s Supreme Court. Preliminary election night results also favor Sheinbaum’s Morena party, giving them a supermajority in Congress. As such, Sheinbaum will very likely have ample support for a feminist political agenda should she pursue one.
But electing women to high office doesn’t necessarily shift power in meaningful ways. It’s what experts on women in politics call “descriptive representation” – when political leaders resemble a group of voters but fail to set policies designed to protect them. In contrast, “substantive representation” occurs when officials enact laws that truly benefit the groups that they claim to represent.
Scholars who study the difference between the two, including Sonia Alvarez, Mala Htun and Jennifer Piscopo, have found that wins in public spheres, such as the right to vote or hold office, have rarely led to progress for women in private spaces – such as the right to reproductive freedom or protections against domestic violence.
In other words, Mexico may have surpassed many countries, including the U.S., in promoting women to political leadership positions, but it still hasn’t shed its stigma of machismo and its history of authoritarianism.
In the 1990s, a resurgent feminist movement throughout Latin America led to major breakthroughs in women’s rights. By the end of the decade, many countries had passed legislation against gender-based violence and reforms requiring gender quotas in party nomination lists. In the past 17 years, seven women have been elected president across Central and South America.
Yet the fight for gender equality has advanced unevenly. Mexico is a country still rattled by high rates of femicide. Government data shows that, on average, 10 women and girls are killed every day by partners or family members.
Government accused of harassment
A big question now is whether Sheinbaum will be able to address the issue of gender violence, which her predecessors failed to do.
Any skepticism surrounding the willingness of Sheinbaum’s government to implement a truly feminist agenda would be justified: Her campaign theme was one of continuity, and she has hesitated, to date, to deviate much, if at all, from López Obrador’s agenda.
Under López Obrador, Morena was accused of downplaying the extent of the femicide crisis, with at least one critic claiming that López Obrador was “the first president to outright deny” the violence.
Rather, López Obrador used his daily “mañanera” news conference to issue verbal assaults against women in office, including Sheinbaum’s defeated rival, Gálvez. In July 2023, the independent National Electoral Institute found López Obrador guilty of targeting Gálvez in derogatory statements related to her gender.
López Obrador also denounced Piña, the Supreme Court chief justice, in what Mexico’s National Association of Judges has described as hate speech and the federal judiciary condemned as “gender-based violence” and hatred against her. His statements at a rally in March incited his followers to burn Piña in effigy, prompting critics to suggest that such attacks don’t simply reflect López Obrador’s distaste for checks and balances but aim to undermine women in positions of power.
Mexico’s patronage politics
Observers see Sheinbaum as López Obrador’s handpicked successor: He publicly endorsed her, and she has vowed to continue his “fourth transformation,” a campaign promise to end government corruption and reduce poverty that’s had mixed results.
Sheinbaum’s record as mayor of Mexico City is equally mixed. She has publicly described herself as a feminist and has criticized state prosecutors for covering up the killing of Ariadna Lopez, a 27-year-old woman. At the same time, Sheinbaum attempted to criminalize participants of a mass protest over the thousands of women who’ve disappeared in recent years, claiming that these demonstrations were violent.
Political scientists have shown that even when the faces of politics change, the operatives behind the scenes can stay the same – especially in Mexico, where political parties are mired in patronage politics – when party leaders reward loyalty by deciding who gets to run for office and who gets to keep their jobs when the government is handed over to a new administration.
Sheinbaum will likely still be beholden to the Morena coalition and will rely to a large degree on López Obrador to help push through her policies.
A feminist future?
On the campaign trail, Sheinbaum, along with her rival, Gálvez, championed women and shared their experiences as women.
But in the closing stages of the campaign, neither Sheinbaum nor Gálvez offered much more than the “historic first” argument to potential voters. As a result, the extension of women’s rights under the new government remains uncertain.
Aside from front-line politics, women’s rights in Mexico have moved forward when leaders have committed to substantive change.
Notably, Mexico’s Supreme Court under Pinã has declared all federal and state laws prohibiting abortion unconstitutional. When Piña took office, she promised to take on women’s rights in her agenda. So far, she’s delivered.
If Sheinbaum hopes to have similar success, she’ll need to follow Pinã’s lead by centering her platforms on the issues that most affect women in their day-to-day lives, beginning with rising femicide rates. Women may be gaining political power in Mexico, but the question now is whether they’ll use it to fight for the women they represent.

Silly question, but if all the plot relevant keepers minus mc were thrown into a battle royale (Marcela, Dominic, Brant, Akira, Nessa) who would win and how? Ch6 was amazing btw!
Thank you! Spoilers for book two below the cut
Brant would use his empathy to take out everyone except Marcela. If it's serious/a fight to the death, he'd let her win, otherwise, he'd win.

Why would Armando marry Marcela to secure the vote? Didn’t he already get the presidency because his dad is the founder of the company?
This started when Roberto made Daniel and Armando come up with a plan on how they would run the presidency during the first year and Roberto picked Daniel’s plan because it was more realistic and not Armando’s plan. The only reason Armando was picked as president was because his plan got more votes than Daniel’s, the people that voted for Armando’s plan was his sister, mom, and Marcela. Armando counted on Marcela’s vote to win the presidency. In order to secure her vote, he proposed to her two days before the meeting where they were going to chose the next president and this is how he won the presidency, which is what Daniel believed he did in order to win. Armando being Roberto’s son wasn’t going to get him the position as president because he initially chose Daniel and his plan thus to be the next president. Also, I think Roberto never really had faith in Armando and his capabilities and that’s why Armando always had a fear of letting his father down because Roberto would question him about the movements of the company.

“I come not, Ambrosio for any of the purposes thou hast named,” replied Marcela, “but to defend myself and to prove how unreasonable are all those who blame me for their sorrow and for Chrysostom’s death; and therefore I ask all of you that are here to give me your attention, for it will not take much time or many words to bring the truth home to persons of sense.
Heaven has made me, so you say, beautiful, and so much so that in spite of yourselves my beauty leads you to love me; and for the love you show me you say, and even urge, that I am bound to love you.
By that natural understanding which God has given me I know that everything beautiful attracts love, but I cannot see how, by reason of being loved, that which is loved for its beauty is bound to love that which loves it; besides, it may happen that the lover of that which is beautiful may be ugly, and ugliness being detestable, it is very absurd to say, “I love thee because thou art beautiful, thou must love me though I be ugly.”
But supposing the beauty equal on both sides, it does not follow that the inclinations must be therefore alike, for it is not every beauty that excites love, some but pleasing the eye without winning the affection; and if every sort of beauty excited love and won the heart, the will would wander vaguely to and fro unable to make choice of any; for as there is an infinity of beautiful objects there must be an infinity of inclinations, and true love, I have heard it said, is indivisible, and must be voluntary and not compelled.
If this be so, as I believe it to be, why do you desire me to bend my will by force, for no other reason but that you say you love me? Nay—tell me—had Heaven made me ugly, as it has made me beautiful, could I with justice complain of you for not loving me?
Moreover, you must remember that the beauty I possess was no choice of mine, for, be it what it may, Heaven of its bounty gave it me without my asking or choosing it; and as the viper, though it kills with it, does not deserve to be blamed for the poison it carries, as it is a gift of nature, neither do I deserve reproach for being beautiful; for beauty in a modest woman is like fire at a distance or a sharp sword; the one does not burn, the other does not cut, those who do not come too near.
Honour and virtue are the ornaments of the mind, without which the body, though it be so, has no right to pass for beautiful; but if modesty is one of the virtues that specially lend a grace and charm to mind and body, why should she who is loved for her beauty part with it to gratify one who for his pleasure alone strives with all his might and energy to rob her of it?
I was born free, and that I might live in freedom I chose the solitude of the fields; in the trees of the mountains I find society, the clear waters of the brooks are my mirrors, and to the trees and waters I make known my thoughts and charms. I am a fire afar off, a sword laid aside.
Those whom I have inspired with love by letting them see me, I have by words undeceived, and if their longings live on hope—and I have given none to Chrysostom or to any other—it cannot justly be said that the death of any is my doing, for it was rather his own obstinacy than my cruelty that killed him; and if it be made a charge against me that his wishes were honourable, and that therefore I was bound to yield to them, I answer that when on this very spot where now his grave is made he declared to me his purity of purpose, I told him that mine was to live in perpetual solitude, and that the earth alone should enjoy the fruits of my retirement and the spoils of my beauty; and if, after this open avowal, he chose to persist against hope and steer against the wind, what wonder is it that he should sink in the depths of his infatuation?
If I had encouraged him, I should be false; if I had gratified him, I should have acted against my own better resolution and purpose.
He was persistent in spite of warning, he despaired without being hated.
Bethink you now if it be reasonable that his suffering should be laid to my charge. Let him who has been deceived complain, let him give way to despair whose encouraged hopes have proved vain, let him flatter himself whom I shall entice, let him boast whom I shall receive; but let not him call me cruel or homicide to whom I make no promise, upon whom I practise no deception, whom I neither entice nor receive.
It has not been so far the will of Heaven that I should love by fate, and to expect me to love by choice is idle. Let this general declaration serve for each of my suitors on his own account, and let it be understood from this time forth that if anyone dies for me it is not of jealousy or misery he dies, for she who loves no one can give no cause for jealousy to any, and candour is not to be confounded with scorn.
Let him who calls me wild beast and basilisk, leave me alone as something noxious and evil; let him who calls me ungrateful, withhold his service; who calls me wayward, seek not my acquaintance; who calls me cruel, pursue me not; for this wild beast, this basilisk, this ungrateful, cruel, wayward being has no kind of desire to seek, serve, know, or follow them.
If Chrysostom’s impatience and violent passion killed him, why should my modest behaviour and circumspection be blamed?
If I preserve my purity in the society of the trees, why should he who would have me preserve it among men, seek to rob me of it? I have, as you know, wealth of my own, and I covet not that of others; my taste is for freedom, and I have no relish for constraint; I neither love nor hate anyone; I do not deceive this one or court that, or trifle with one or play with another. The modest converse of the shepherd girls of these hamlets and the care of my goats are my recreations; my desires are bounded by these mountains, and if they ever wander hence it is to contemplate the beauty of the heavens, steps by which the soul travels to its primeval abode.”
With these words, and not waiting to hear a reply, she turned and passed into the thickest part of a wood that was hard by, leaving all who were there lost in admiration as much of her good sense as of her beauty

Marcela Bovio - Loneliness anthem #2 (live at Sandlane Recording Facilities) From the EP "A song of death, a song of pain": https://ift.tt/nw2o07U Marcela Bovio: vocals Ferry Duijsens: acoustic guitar Ben Mathot: violin Jurriaan Westerveld: cello Marjan Welman: backing vocals Micky Huijsmans: backing vocals Floor Vandenbrande: backing vocals Filmed by Arno de Haas -- I’ve been driving aimlessly for most of the night. I wanna head home, but it doesn’t feel right; not when the only sound bouncing off the walls are the echoes of how I came undone. (It’s over…) As the empty road stretches far ahead, I ask the question over and over again: why would you hold my hand through the darkest hour, only to let it go when my guard was down? (It’s over…) It’s a trap, it’s a game full of madness and pain. Take the knife and bury it in your chest, show me your heart and place your bets. No one cares, no one wins as we drown in our sins. We’ll risk everything for one more try, the promise of eternal fire. It stains, it hurts, it burns the skin. It screams, it roars, it lures me in. The world is a liar. Selena Quintanilla - Queen of Tejano
Tumblr media
If any of you grew up in the 90s to early-2000s, you know about Selena Quintanilla. Whether it's hearing her music on the radio, or your mom's CDs/playlists, or you were made to watch the movie every year in your Spanish classes. As I have grown up, trying to learn about my own Mexican heritage, I have had the joy of teaching her songs to my mom and learning about her story. Selena has certainly become a beloved icon to Mexican heritage in general, and her love only grows with each generation that is taught about her. In celebration of this Hispanic-American Heritage Month, I want to be another person to highlight the incredible memory of the incredible Selena Quintanilla, the queen of Tejano music.
Selena was born April 16, 1971 in Lake Jackson, Texas. She was the youngest of three children to her parents, Abraham Quintanilla and Marcela Ofelia Samora. Selena and her siblings, Suzette and Abraham III. (A.B.) The Quintanilla family would end up opening a restaurant that would be the thing to propel Selena and her family's future.
Abraham Quintanilla was a former musician, specializing in Tejano music. (or, "tex-mex" music - a blend of both Mexican and US influences) He wanted to get his children involved in the world of music, so he had them form a band known as Selena y Los Dinos. Abraham would have Suzette play drums, A.B. on guitar, and Selena did the vocals. Perhaps as a way to bring them closer to their Mexican roots, Selena was instructed to learn Spanish and sing in Spanish. She had only spoken English up to this point.
At just the age of 9, Selena was already becoming a sensation. With her father acting as manager to get them gigs at restaurants, weddings, and other local events, Selena Y Los Dinos was already making a name for themselves. Sadly, though, the band would not be able to use their performances to sustain them in the beginning. The Quintanillas would have to declare bankruptcy and move to Corpus Christi, Texas.
There, Selena and the family began to make themselves more well-known in the Latin music world by publishing their albums under smaller Tejano labels. Due to their growing popularity, Selena would stop going to school by 8th grade, but would still get her GED and study business at Pacific Western University. In 1984, Selena Y Los Dinos released their first album, "Mis Primeras Grabaciones". They would create more albums such as "The New Girl In Town" (1985), "Alpha" (1986), "Muñequito de Trapo" (1986), "And The Winner Is..." (1987), "Preciosa" (1988), and "Dolce Amor" (1989).
During this time, Selena would be awarded with Best Female Vocalist and Performer of the Year at the Tejano Music Awards in 1987 at just fifteen. Two years later, at the Tejano Music Awards in 1989, she would sign with EMI Latin Records, and begin her solo career, releasing her album "Selena" the same year. She would still have the support of her family with her brother, A.B. writing many of her songs and acting as her producer. During this time, she would also start dating her guitarist, Chris Perez, who she married in 1992*. Coca-Cola would also sign her on as a spokesperson.
Her 1991 song, "Buenos Amigos", would hit the top of the US Billboard for Top Latin Songs. She would also release "Entre a Mi Mundo" in 1992, which would top charts in the US. She would tour Mexico and present her newest song, "Como la Flor", which would reach number 6 on the US Billboard for Top Latin Songs.
Though she was largely ignored outside of the Tejano music scene, she would begin to blossom in 1993 into the iconic popstar she is today. Her album "Live!" (1993) would earn her a Grammy for Best Mexican-American Album, also becoming the first female Tejano singer to win a Grammy in that category. "Amor Prohibido" would be her next album in 1994. During that year, she would be labeled "Most Influential Texan" in Texas Monthly, and get an interview with the LA Times. She would also create her own clothing brand and a pair of boutiques in Corpus Christi and San Antonio.
By 1995, Selena would be nominated for another Grammy for Best Mexican-American performance, star as a mariachi singer in the movie "Don Juan DeMarco" with Johnny Depp and Marlon Brando, as well as a few other Latin American shows such as the "Johnny Canales Show".
Sadly, and I'm sure many of you knew this was coming, Selena would not be able to show us how much her legacy would grow past 1995. During her growing career, Selena and her father, Abraham, would be approached by a former nurse named Yolanda Saldivar. Saldivar would propose a Selena fan club, which she would become the president of. Over time, Selena would have Saldivar managing one of her boutiques, believing she could trust her. Sadly, though, Selena would go to meet Saldivar at a hotel on May 31st, 1995 due to Selena's concerns that Saldivar was embezzling from her businesses. Saldivar shot the singer in the shoulder, and Selena tried to flee, collapsing, and being rushed to hospital. She would sadly succumb to her injuries in Corpus Christi, devastating the Latine community. Her family would release her final album, "Dreaming of You" posthumously in 1995.
Selena was a person full of passion. Coming from a working class life, she would remain in the working class community of Molina in Corpus Christi, despite her wealth. She would also involve herself in many social programs, such as working with the Texas Commission on Drug and Alcohol Abuse, the Coastal Bend Aids Foundation, the D.A.R.E. Program, her PSAs for the Houston Area Women's Center and pro-education content, as well as plans to visit a Boys and Girls' Club benefit before her death. In 1997, Jennifer Lopez would star as Selena in the movie by the same name. Chris Perez, Selena's husband, would write a novel to her titled "To Selena, With Love".
Selena's legacy paved the way for new Latin American artists to really explode in the mainstream. She would be an icon for young Hispanic people everywhere. It's truly heartbreaking to lose such a kind and passionate person at such a young age, and not get to see what she could do if her career was able to continue in the way it had been. Yolanda Saldivar is able to ask for parole by 2025, but she'd better prepare for the vehemence of the Latine community for taking such an icon away from us. May Selena rest well always knowing that she is most beloved.
*One of the sources states that Selena and Chris eloped in 1999. This is not true, and I'm not sure why this was stated.

Pandemonium vs Marcela
Pandemonium had just come off the biggest win in her career, but it was not without it’s scars. The biggest one was a bandaged and wrapped up knee. For the first time in her career within MPW she was showing some kind of wear and tear. But the heart and soul of MPW would not miss a match like this. Marcela came at Pandemonium hard and fast, no code of honor, and realistically she didn’t need one as she locked up with Pandemonium trying to overpower her. With her knee planting wrong, she grimaced in pain but was able to pull away from Marcela.
Circling again the two of them locked up again, but this time Pandemonium was ready for Marcela and it was not a get out dodge kind of situation. This time she was prepared as the two of them started to lock up and but it was Marcela who took control again, arms wrapped around her waist trying to control Pandemonium before taking her wrist and bringing her down on the mat, legs coming around her head. Pandemonium able counter, standing on her head to do so. Pandemonium quick as lightening bringing Marcela’s leg up and over her neck placing her in her teacher’s stretch muffler type hold before readjusting herself and taking a hold of Marcela’s arm. Pandemonium pulling all her weight down on arm bar. Marcela tries to counter again, but Pan rolls her into a crucifix pin.
1…2…
Marcela kicks out and Pandemonium backs off, MPW’s technical wrestler of the year quickly backed up and stood strong watching the legend with a smile on her face. Marcela moves the ropes trying to gain some force behind a clothes line, enough to take down the smaller Pandemonium but Pandemonium sees it coming jumping up she grabs Marcela’s arm taking it in midair, and turning into an armbar in the air, taking her down well wrecking on the arm. Pandemonium lands on the arm as her focus tonight. Letting go of the arm bar but still dropping her knee down on the outstretched arm of Marcela.
When Marcela finally comes free of the Clusterfuck winner, she rolls out the ring for some kind of rest. Pandemonium is known for that spot but as she stands herself her knee comes up lame, holding her foot up. This is concerning, Cardona had done so much damage to it nearly four weeks ago. Marcela was half expecting Pandemonium to fly but she doesn’t. Getting into the ring she seems to laugh at Pandemonium, she was being a coward is what Marcela was telling her, and Pandemonium quickly makes sure that thought is taken from her head as she clips the veteran in the back of the head with a spinning kick. Marcela dazed goes on autopilot as Pandemonium uses the ropes to bring her back with a Sliced Bread #2.  Marcela going for the lower ground rolls out of the ring and this time Pandemonium won’t be called a coward. Pandemonium goes to the place she calls home and goes airborne hitting the Plancha and leveling Marcela.
Pandemonium back on her feet quickly, if that knee was bothering her she wasn’t showing it now. Back into the ring she waits for Marcella. Once back in the ring Marcela has her set up for a dropkick from the ring but Pandemonium sidesteps, knee buckled but Pandemonium fights through. Marcel has nothing and Pandemonium strikes her again with another kick sending her spinning around. Pandemonium throwing her back into the ropes tries to set up for the Law of Return but the veteran’s awareness saves her, not allowing her to plant it, Pandemonium growling in frustration sends an upper cut to Marcela. Pandemonium leaping up hits the enzuigiri, Marcela doesn’t go down but she’s dazed. Pandemonium’s arm over her neck, hooks her and forces her off her feet before turning her and dropping her down with the Emerald Flowsion.
Hooking the leg, Pan has the legend dead to rights.
1..2…3
                “HERE IS YOUR WINNER, PANDEMONIUM.”
Crawling off Marcela, Pan finds the camera speaking to it, “I am the heart and soul of MPW, VENY, you are not the same, but neither am I.”

Male cyclists have been banned from competing in women’s events by the official worldwide governing body, according to reports.
The Associated Press is reporting that the International Cycling Union (UCI) announced Friday that biological male transgenders, who claim to be “women,” are banned from competing as female cyclists.
The new rule will bar biological males who transition after puberty from competing in the women’s division.
The move comes amid a rise in the past few years of mediocre male athletes switching to compete as “women” and dominating the female events.
Recent public outcry over cyclist Austin Killips, the first man to win a U.S. race in the female division, prompted the sports officials to review the transgender athlete policy.
The move has resulted in a ban on males competing in the women’s division.
“From now on, female transgender athletes who have transitioned after (male) puberty will be prohibited from participating in women’s events on the UCI International Calendar — in all categories — in the various disciplines,” the international federation said in a statement, according to the AP.
The UCI stated that the ban, which will begin on Monday, is vital “to ensure equal opportunities.”
Killips, a biological male, came out on top in the female division in the Tour of the Gila competition, one of the marquee U.S. stage races this year.
He pulled away from the rest of the competition in the final minutes and defeated runner-up Marcela Prieto by a staggering 89 seconds.
Tumblr media
Killips’ victory sparked a negative response from fans and cyclists.
His “victory” promoted the Tour of the Gila’s official Twitter account to lock replies on its tweets celebrating Killips’ win.
“The UCI would like to reaffirm that cycling — as a competitive sport, leisure activity or means of transport — is open to everyone, including transgender people, whom we encourage like everyone else to take part in our sport,” UCI president David Lappartient said

“Translation: Armando, Rejected by Betty and being replaced with Nicolás. Little Armando, Rejected by his dad and being replaced with Daniel. “
~ long post coming and hopefully with sense and logic ~
Hello Tumblr people! I’m not good at expressing my thoughts/opinions but gonna try it because I wanted to share this (plus, a cruel meme and a fan video! :)), we know when Betty finds the letter and discovers everything, she becomes the “Armando” to Armando’s “Marcela”, meaning she acts like Armando in his relationship with Marcela (at least that’s how I perceive it, also it could be a karma for Armando for everything he has done to Marcela), Betty lies to him, makes him think that she’s using Terramoda’s money (meaning Ecomoda’s, you know why, i get so confused with the whole business stuff so let’s act as if we understand, or at least act as if I'm right please hehe), makes him think that Nicolás is her boyfriend now, she plays with him, with his mind, he wants to talk about it, he knows communication is something fundamental in their relationship, but the problem now is that Betty is not doing that, she’s not communicating, she’s refusing to give clear answers, especially with her “specific relationship” with Nicolás, she says she doesn’t have anything with him, only a friendship but her actions say otherwise, all I’m explaining is Armando’s perspective (something people forget, he’s not a villain, not gonna justify his actions here but his emotions/feelings are valid, how he acts on them is another conversation), he can’t think or accept the idea about Betty’s motives about doing all this stuff are because she found out everything so his feelings win, he’s jealous about Nicolás and he blames it all on him, he doesn’t even blame betty, he thinks betty is the only victim here because nicolás is using her (lol this man’s mind, and ofc Mario’s), now, ofc we know Betty’s perspective, she’s hurt, betrayed, dying inside to the point of becoming this person that later she regrets (something that I wonder is what she would’ve done if she didn’t hear el cuartel or Aura Maria specifically of the plan about making a man feel jealous, they’re talking about sofía here, and that’s where betty gets this whole idea, what she was going to do before that, what was her plan here, wait for an explanation? Leave? Idk, but I wonder), so yeah, I feel bad for both at this point, and we see it more in that scene where doña Margarita is talking about marriage with Armando and both look so miserable about the idea, about everything, also MARGARITA PLEASE PAY MORE ATTENTION TO YOUR SON!!!!!!!, this woman doesn’t notice anything (pero qué está pasando aquí? Armando is the same as her mother though lol, that scene where betty looks miserable and crying and he believes that she’s okay, love is blind). You all, idk if it was just me but when I first watched the episode where Armando and Nicolás fight, and betty slaps him and he looks so hurt and then betty leaves with Nicolás and everyone (el cuartel, Hugo) leaves Armando alone…… that destroyed me, nobody cared about him in that moment, i know he was being intense in that moment, i know he’s the “boss” here and he was making a “spectacle” but I couldn’t help feeling so sad for him, he’s alone figuring out his feelings, and it’s not the only time he’s alone doing that, ugh having feelings for him makes me miserable but also i love him so worth it, anyways, yeah that was a fun fact about me, me crying in that scene because then he believes that Betty doesn’t love him anymore and that he chose nicolás when he left him there (his mind makes me laugh but also i would think that too and I would also go to a bar and let people hurt me because I hurted the person I love in the worst possible way, yeah I have issues and I love Betty so much too), so he really believes that Betty doesn’t love him (this man! She told him that she loved him days ago and now he believes that she doesn’t anymore, that really tells you how Armando perceives love, one mistake and love is gone…. Just hurted myself with that, the love he has experienced has been conditional, with his father more strongly, with Marcela, with his mother, with his best friend, except this person, this person who is loyal, supportive, who has been there for him in good times as bad times… Betty. I get it Armando, I also think that one mistake and love is gone, let’s go to therapy!), now to end this, Betty once again tells him that she still loves him, and not even that, that she has never stopped loving him (ugh, I’m miserable, why are they like that, they make me feel stuff), Armando is relieved about that and also he’s feeling a lot of things (lol), he loves her too much, that he finally accepts that he’s in love for the first time (poor Marcela but yay for Armando for acknowledging his feelings for the first time! But also boo because it’s too late, Betty is leaving already, anyways!), that he’s in love with Beatriz Pinzón Solano (ah, such a telenovela thing to say the full name but also i love it so much in here!), another anyways, this post is getting long so my point here was that I saw this beautiful and wrenching fan video about Armando that I first thought it was going to be about Betty’s suffering but in a way it is, Betty’s suffering through Armando’s suffering or Armando’s suffering through Betty’s (¿??? Idk I made up so many stuff in my mind), and after watching it I thought about making this meme and I laugh through the pain, love hurting myself, so we don’t know much about los Mendoza and Valencia’s background but we see the result, Don Roberto, in my opinion, is a nice man, elegant, very hard working, as a father though..… he’s cold, conditional, idk in my mind the fault is always on the parents (leave me alone I have issues), he’s cold but in the end, that’s something I would have loved to see, how him and Armando talked again so easy, idk but yay for Armando, anyways, in that scene where Armando gets exposed, Don Roberto is very cold, so rude, he just wants to humiliate his son in front of everyone about his mistakes, i get that Armando ruined the company (in time record ah! AH! 30 years destroyed in less than a year, that’s a record! Congrats Armando, I’m not being sarcastic but also that’s so mean for my part, ily armando) but leaving him alone, suffering later on? Is it a lesson? idk, you all, I'm not a parent but uf, just judging from the beginning everything was so off, why competing for the presidency… I get that could be an easy solution but that could be misinterpreted in a lot of ways! I'm getting lost again from the point, sharing parents like that, competing for their love and approval, i believe that’s how Armando felt, so when I was seeing this fanvideo, how Armando once again was competing for someone’s love, that reminded me of his dad and Daniel…. Something I wrote months ago about this: “it was such a life changing moment/experience for him, he suffered, he was hurt about losing a love that he thought he could never find but he did and he was losing it, that’s why he’s desperate, he had never known love like that (I’m referring about before, Betty so kind and gentle, she risked everything for him, she was unconditional to him)” “he finally found this love with Betty, he feels loved and he feels bad about what he’s doing he knows he doesn’t deserve that love  but he’s going to ignore that and enjoy this moment, and when he begins to love her, he follows that weird and sick train of experience he has had with Marcela, because he doesn’t know other love, all he knows is Marcela’s love in the romantic line, so Armando begins to love betty and he feels entitled to her, he now thinks that he deserves betty because he loves her (I’m talking about that scene where Armando finally breaks up with Marcela and she says that she loves him and she knows she “deserves” him because of that……*poker face* and Armando saying something like that in the scene where they’re outside from el mesón de San Diego, he says that Nicolás doesn’t “deserve” her because he is the one who really loves her, yeah……), so when Betty starts to act cold and distant, he thinks “oh once again they’re leaving me or stop loving me” because they don’t want him and they chose someone else over him *laughing through the pain*, but this time he’s gonna fight! He’s going to fight for that love (ugh, once again parallels with Marcela…… these rich people made me sad, mom please take me out of here!)” me crying with my own thoughts, get me out of here, meaning, my mind, anyways, that’s it, love the angst, the analysis I’ve read about them in here and the ones I have on my mind, love being mentally ill, to end in a happy note, I believe both of them paid for every wrong they did, they changed for the better, they changed for themselves (how it should be!), they grew with each other….. and without each other *sobbing* and in the end, they still love each other because they never stopped, they’re soulmates and they’re gonna be together for eternity (they told me themselves!), xoxo
P. S. I love Marcela, I felt so sad for her, for everything that happened for her but sometimes I can’t stand her, her actions are cruel sometimes, (the only one who I can love above everything is Betty so get out of here), but I believe that her ending was hopeful, she finally let go of someone who wasn’t good for her anymore, someone who didn’t love her anymore, an obsession, a fantasy, she finally let go of that but also of a place that wasn’t a good environment, she still has a part of the company and she knows it’s going to be alright in B&A’s hands, Ecomoda™(the sequel) doesn’t exist for me, only the lovely scenes of them, also i believe that they should leave or never stayed in Ecomoda because it’s not a good place for them either, but anyways! At least they have jobs and money….. and love yeah, and each other *cries again* and a beautiful baby girl named after a character who we never saw but she’s in my heart, my faceless woman lol.
(also, omg Desesperado by José José a totally Armando song, uf my man, I feel his desesperation so deeply in my soul, somebody sedate me)

ALTERNATIVE UNIVERSE & CANON DIVERGENCE IDEAS
Fugitive CD. Armando, Betty and Calderón weren’t as careful as they thought. It is now a matter of time before the police can track them down due to the smuggling of the fabrics from Panamá. They need ti run away before the police starts searching for them
-Betty needs to leave the most sacred thing for her, her family, in complete shame. How would she handle this?
-Would Marcela just stay calm if her fiancé suddenly disappeared?
-Calderón canonically has some pretty… quedtionable contacts, but just how questionable, I wonder?
-How would being a fugitive and knowing he brought Betty into that affect Armando and his already-fragile mental state?
Victorian/Middle Ages Royalty AU. Prince Armando, the soon-to-be-king, has been engaged to Princess Marcela since childhood, their kingdoms joined by this promise of marriage and the friendship of their parents since Armando’s and Marcela’s births; but now, Prince Armando’s new cleaning maid, Beatriz, a poor young woman who is inexplicably very well versed in all types of arts and academic fields, is slowly starting to catch his attention…
Failing his workers was one thing, but failing a whole KINGDOM? Oof, Armando Mendoza is in for a ride!
Making the Mendoza’s kingdom the enemy of the Valencia’s could be a potential war… lives can be lost due to this. King Daniel, who ascended to the throne after the tragic death of his father, is known for his mercilessness… and he won’t stay still if the Mendoza kingdom humilliates his kingdom and, more importantly, his dear sister.
The opportunities that Princess Marcela would have to humilliate Beatriz…
Also, this dialogue right here:
Tumblr media
The secretaries are all maids in the castle, except Mariana, who is Marcela’s lady in waiting.
American College AU. Armando is a total frat boy. Betty, the nerd who is only there due to a big scholarship. You know the rest~
Calderón CD. Armando absolutely refuses to do the plan, and in the heat of the moment proposes that Mario be the one seducing Betty. Begrudgingly, Mario accepts. He knows Betty already has an inclination towards Armando, which means he doesn’t have any territory compared to Armando (everything would have been so much easier if it had been Armando the one seducing her!) so, What does Calderón do to win Betty’s heart? She’s smart, she’ll know something’s going on if he isn’t subtle enough, but Calderón is also smart… and, more importantly, lacks morals and remorse.
Calderón is a sneaky, cunning bastard, but how astute does he need to be in order to fool Betty into thinking he’s been liking her this whole time? What eould it take?
Armando kept his and Betty’s relationship in secret due ti Marcela, but what valid excuse does Calderon have to not want to show her around?
How does Armando cope, seeing and hesring how Calderon is repulsed and mocks Betty’s innocent love, and knowing he contributed to that?
How does everyone around react if Calderon indeed goes public with Betty?
So, there’s that! A few ideas that quickly came up my head. And yes, in case you are wondering, yes, I am, indeed, begging for fics.
