Today, I'm sharing 'Punk Before Chips' by Wild Billy Childish and the Spartan Dreggs.

The opening of this track might sound familiar—it was originally a jingle made for Marc Riley's show on BBC Radio 6 Music.

The title is a playful nod to a story Marc tells about going to the chippy before a Sex Pistols gig and missing most of their set.

It’s a clever mix of humour and punk grit, perfectly encapsulating the charm of both the music and the story behind it.

Good Morning Mister Presley [1985] on the extremely short-lived Grunt Grunt a Go Go Records of Norwich. I can't quite think why the label wasnae any more successful. Highlight of the record was the sublime 'Poop Scoop' by the immortal Marc Riley (ex bassist The Fall, later BBC radio broadcaster of sorts) and the Creepers

I hate reading a x reader fic (or any fic tbh) where one character is like "big, buff, scary, man" and then "scared, defenseless, innocent girl." ... Like there's a way to write about a masculine character without pushing stereotypes or taking away from them (yk?)
