Nova Vivienne-Taylor Crosby
"In my defence, I was left unsupervised."
Tumblr media
A little Introduction to Nova -
Nova Vivienne-Taylor Crosby is her father's pride and joy, born February 2nd 2005, Sidney was completely unaware of her existence until an hour after little Nova entered the world.
Nova's mother was an ex-girlfriend Sid described as someone he fumbled the bag with, losing her eight months previous and one month into the unknown pregnancy. Sid never thought he would have such a overwhelming decrepitness associated with him from the mother that she immediately handed over full custody. This is how he ended hobbling down an unnecessarily bright hallway and unknowingly at the time, into the greatest new chapter of his life.
-
Nova Crosby - Facts!
The girl stands at 5'4 and barely reaches 135 pounds soaking wet and is not afraid to bite!
Known on the ice as firey, quick witted and someone with her father's fighting skills, she is not to be messed with!
She has always been a troublesome baby, toddler, kid, teenager and now, adult. Everyone around her seems to be drawn in by her charisma or what her father describes as 'alluring psychoticness'.
She was drafted 5th overall in the 2024 NHL draft to the New York Islanders and has formed a 'concerning' relationship with Mathew Barzal.
Nova met Luke at a Women in Hockey event her father was hosting when she was 16 and Luke 17, going on 18. Luke's mother Ellen was invited to speak and Luke had begrudgingly chose to come with.
He is very glad he did though, because that's where he met his best friend and unknown at the time future girlfriend who was trying in vain to escape her baby sitter for that night Tristan Jarry.
Luke was thrilled when she was drafted to the Isles because it meant his then best friend was only two hours away.
She has always been super close with the Penguins entire team, she hangs out with the guys in the common room, sometimes joins in practice if Sully lets her and joins in on the team wide prank war. More often than not targeting Dan Potash like Flower taught her so many years ago.
Sidney and Nova are what they would consider the bestest of friends. They tell each other everything. Most of the time. Sid helps Nova through everything and is her biggest supporter and protector. For reference, Sid use to play baseball, he makes sure he keeps his bat polished and on hand especially when Nova brought over her first boyfriend.
Nova also loves music! She is really into Benson Boone at the minute but her go to team karaoke is Suspicious Minds by Elvis Presley. (Mainly because Tanger always willingly belts it out with her.)
-:-
I look forward to getting to know Nova with you all!
Please send in asks, I'd love to know what you think of Nova!

Making History
Author: Nat / @idontgiveaflyinggrayson69
Requested: Nope, I had a dream about it and couldn’t get the idea out of my head
Tagging: @aw-hawkeye @caswinchester2000 @butcanijustnot
Fandom: NHL
Relationship: Brotherly; Marc-André Fleury x Reader. Platonic; Kris Letang x Reader. Platonic; Sidney Crosby x Reader.
Summary: The Reader is a three time Olympic gold medalist for Team Canada and the little sister of Marc-André Fleury. After Fleury and Murray both get injured during a game, the Penguins have no choice but to put her into the game half way into the second period, making her the first woman to play in the regular season of the NHL.
Word Count: 3.1k
Warnings: Minor character injuries
Disclaimer: This takes place when Fleury was still a Penguin.
Comments: I know this wouldn’t happen but this is a work of fiction so.
Tumblr media
You stood watching from one of the arena suites as Murray was helped off the ice, a hand clamped over your mouth. A trainer had a towel pressed to Murray’s throat and through the zoom in displayed on the jumbo screen, you could see that there was quite a bit of blood.
There was six minutes left in the second period, practically half the game left to play and the Penguins were out both goalies.
You were in Pittsburgh to visit your brother, Marc-André, the past week and had been to the last two of his games since they were both at home. And two minutes left in the first period, Marc-André had decided to poke check, which wasn’t unusual. Marc-André was a goalie who really liked to poke check. What was surprising was that after he poke checked, he didn’t get up.
A trainer was sent onto the ice and he helped your brother off the ice and back into the dressing room. The Penguins sent Matt Murray into the game and you made your way to the dressing room to see your brother and found out that he had broken his arm. His arm was swelling pretty badly and the he had to get his arm set properly so he was going to have to go to the hospital.
You asked him he wanted you to go to the hospital with you, but he told you to stay and enjoy the game. So, you went back to watch the game from the suite.
And with six minutes left in the second period, Murray took a skate to the throat. Letang slid in front of the net, trying to stop the Leafs from scoring, and in the process, knocked Matthews down, causing his skate to go up and clip Murray under his mask.
The play was stopped and Murray was lying face first on the ice.
You stood up and brought your hand up to cover your mouth. You didn’t know what happened but, you knew that if Murray couldn’t play that the Penguins were out a goalie. You didn’t know what they were going to do. There was still half a game left, they couldn’t play with an empty net.
Were they going to be forced to forfeit?
Were they going to be forced to dress one of their other players as a goalie and put them in net?
Your heart was beating like crazy when you saw the blood as Murray was helped off the ice. There was no way that he would be able to continue to play and your brother had already been taken to the hospital.
You watched as the ref went over to the Penguins bench. The whole area was wondering what was going to happen and so were the other Penguins.
You saw the coach ask Letang something and he nodded. The coach gestured behind him and Letang got off the ice and headed back into the dressing room. Crosby looked at the coach like he was crazy and your heart started to go crazy.
Letang was their best defenceman, putting him in net was the craziest idea you could fathom. Without a proper goalie in net, if they were going to try to have a not so horrible loss, they were going to need him on the ice as their defence.
You were pulled from your thoughts by your phone ringing. You pulled it out of your pocket and saw Kris’ name. “Hello?”
“I need you to come to the dressing room.” Kris said frantically.
You nodded even though he couldn’t see you and started to collect your things. “Okay, I’ll be there.” You said before hanging up.
You played for team Canada in the 2006, 2010 and 2014 Olympics as their starting goalie. Being a goalie was something that ran in the Fleury blood apparently. You figured that Kris was asking for help to figure out how to be a goalie and you were more than happy to help.
You walked into the dressing room to see him pacing.
“Why aren’t you putting on the equipment?” You asked him.
Kris stopped and looked at you with wide eyes. “Why wouldIbe putting the equipment on?”
You looked at him confused. “Because you’re going into the net? That’s why you called me?”
Kris laughed nervously and shook his head. “No, I’m not going into the net…”
You swallowed. “What do you mean…”
Kris took a deep breath and walked over to put his hands on your shoulders. “(Y/N), Iam not going into the net. Youare.”
You started to laugh hysterically, but when you saw that Kris wasn’t laughing, you stopped. “You’re serious?”
Kris nodded.
“But I can’t. I’m not a Penguin, I didn’t sign anything and—and I’m a woman!”
Kris shrugged. “We really don’t have a choice. If they ask you, you say that you signed a one-day contract, okay? We’ll have you sign one on intermission. I know that you have none of your equipment, so you’re going to have to wear Marc-André’s, but—“
“Everything will be too big and I haven’t even played or practiced in weeks!”
“You’re a three time Olympic gold medalist. That’s more gold medals than anyone on this team. You playing for the first time in weeks in equipment that doesn’t fit will be better than anyone out on that bench, okay? You can do it.” Kris continued, speaking to you softly.
You nodded and sat down under your brother’s name. His equipment was still out since he left to go to the hospital. You pulled off the jersey you were wearing and hung it up on the hooks before shrugging off your sweater and kicking your shoes off.
“Do you wan—“ Kris started.
“Don’t leave, please.” You told him and he nodded, moving to sit at Murray’s spot since Murray had also left to be brought to the hospital for stitches.
You got the pants and skates on and were working on putting on the blockers when there was a knock at the door. Kris got up and opened the door a little. You heard him taking but couldn’t make it out.
“Can Sid come in?” He asked you, pulling his head back into the room.
“Yeah.” You said without looking up. You were trying to get everything on as quickly and tightly as possible.
Sidney walked into the room and stood in front of you. “How are you doing?”
You laughed. “I’m about to go out into a NHL game wearing equipment that doesn’t fit after not playing for weeks. I’m doing great.”
Sidney forced a smile and knelt down to talk to you. “We’re going to be focusing on defence. We still have half a game left so we’re just going to focus on playing defence and trying to limit the amount of shots on net. Everyone out on the bench said they’re willing to throw themselves between the puck and you, okay?”
You finished the last tie and did a few movements in them to see how they felt. They were big and bulky, but they weren’t loose so they would do. You took a deep breath and looked up at Sid.
“My brother has one gold medal from an Olympics he never played in, I have three from three Olympics I played every game in. And I’ve stopped shots from both of you.” Sid nodded.
“Listen,” you continued. “You’re tied right now. You have a chance to win this, but you can’t if you’re focused on playing defence. I’m a good goalie and if the refs allow this, if, then I’m going to become the first woman to ever play a regular season game in the NHL ever. I don’t want to lose this game. So, I need you to go out there and be Sidney Crosby and score some goals.”
Sidney smiled and nodded and you looked over at Kris. “And you, you are the best defenceman on this team so I need you to be damn good at your job so that players like Sid and Geno can do their jobs and score, okay?”
Kris smiled and nodded. You nodded back and sat back down on the bench and started to put on the torso protection. Sid got up and left the room, leaving you with Kris. After getting on all the equipment, you looked over at Kris. “What jersey am I supposed to wear?”
“Didn’t you wear your jersey to the game?” He asked you and nodded towards it.
“Right I did.”
Kris nodded. “Then wear that one.”
You nodded and pulled it on. It was tight against the bulkiness of your brother’s equipment, but it would do. You grabbed his mask and pulled it on. It was a little loose, but you could manage.
You took a deep breath and stood. Kris smiled at you and patted you on the mask. “You ready?”
You shook your head. “Not in the slightest.”
He tapped you on the shoulder before putting his gloves back on. “The equipment manager will give you a stick when you walk out, okay?”
You nodded and Kris walked out of the dressing room and started to make his way back to the ice and you followed him, your heart beating harder than it had ever before.
“What are the penguins going to do?”
“Unless they happen to have a third goalie in the building, I don’t think they have a choice but to put one of their players in the net. And since Letang left the bench and hasn’t returned, I would guess that player is Kris Letang.”
“It’s a little foolish to have your best defenceman suit up as a stand in goalie, don’t you think?”
“I do, yeah.”
“Oh! And here they com—? Letang is still dressed as usual? Who’s in the goalie gear then? Did the Penguins really have a third goalie in the building?”
The equipment manager gave you a stick and you took it with shaking hands. The guys cleared a path for you and you stepped onto the ice, testing the skates for a second before turning to face the bench to hear what the coach had to say.
You didn’t have to see the jumbo screen to know that you were on it.
“Who is that? And why does his jersey say Fleury?”
“Oh my god…”
“What?”
“Marc-André has a sister who’s a goalie. She’s been the starting goalie for team Canada for the past thee Olympics, bringing home three gold medals. Her number is 92, just like that jersey.”
“You don’t think…”
“I do.”
“Are they even allowed to put her in?”
“We’re going to play defence for the rest of the period, try to keep the score tied. I want you to freeze every shot you can. This way you’ll be able to adjust to everything and they’ll hopefully think that we’re going to be sticking strictly to defence, then in the third period, we’ll hit them with some offence, okay?” The coach said to you.
You nodded. “Sounds good.”
“How are you doing?” He asked.
“I’m fine. I’ll do my best, sir.” You replied.
Before he had a chance to reply, the ref came over and started to talk to you and him. There was an argument between the coach and the ref and you were pretty sure that they weren’t going to let you play and that one of the boys on the bench were going to have to suit up, but the Penguins had “signed” you as a team member, you were dressed and they had no other goalies.
They had no reason why they couldn’t let you play.
The ref nodded and skated away from the bench. The crowd started to cheer. The Crosby and Letang lines got off the bench and the Leafs put their men on the ice. You took a deep breath and skated over to your net.
“In net for your Pittsburgh Penguins, in her NHL debut, is number 92, (Y/N) Fleury!” You heard over the loud speakers and the people started to cheer more.
As soon as you reached your net, you dropped down immediately and did a quick few movements to get the feel of things. The ref came over to you. “Are you good?”
You pushed yourself up and nodded. “Yeah, I’m good.”
He nodded and went over where the face off was. The puck dropped and you became the first woman to play in an NHL game. You couldn’t help but smile and take a deep, calming breath.
You were in the net in a high stress game. This is what you did best.
In the final six minutes of the game, the Leafs had seven shots on net and you froze all of them. Your team also iced the puck five times, your defence took another three shots for you, and the Penguins had only two shots on the Leaf’s net. The Leafs kept shooting high on you since you were smaller than the normal goalie, but you were used to that and could make a wicked glove save, which you did a few times.
The second period came to a close and the game remained tied 2-2.
You released a deep breath and skated to the bench where the guys greeted you with big smiles and head pats. They let you off the ice first and followed you to the locker room.
In the locker room, you got a round of applause, which the coach allowed before quieting everyone and going into the plans for the third period.
“We have to play cleanly, okay? We can’t afford to be short handed. We have twenty minutes left, all we need is one goal. We can do that, okay? (Y/N), you doing okay?”
You nodded. “Yeah, I’m good.”
He nodded. “We’ve been protecting you, now going to go into this period we’re not going to be protecting you, not the way they’ve been for the last few minutes.”
You nodded your head. “I understand.”
He nodded and went on to talk about their offensive game. Then when he was done, the intermission almost over and everyone had to return to ice. You let all the guys go before walking out yourself with only Sidney behind you.
Once on the ice, you skated over to your crease and started to scratch the ice up before getting into position.
With the offence actually playing offence this period, you faced a lot more shots, but you handled it, making some incredible saves if you could say so. And, surprisingly, a lot of the game was actually played in the Leaf’s end with the Penguins managing a lot of shots on the Leafs’ goal. One of which that went in.
Sidney had scored and you closed your eyes for a second as you relaxed a bit more. There were ten minutes left in the game and you were now up one. The game continued and the more the minutes ticked down, the more frantic the Leafs got which made them sloppy and easy to stop.
Since Sid scored, the Penguins had fallen back onto defence, wanting to protect their one goal lead over the Leafs, which was fine by you.
The time kept going down and near the end, the Leafs had pulled their goalie. You were now facing six Leafs players and basically had five defencemen. During that time, Kris and Sid never left the ice.
You kept making saves and before you knew it, the announcers were announcing the final minute of play. In those final seconds, the Penguins just kept icing the puck, looking to run the time down and keep the puck away from the net.
There was fifteen seconds left on the clock when Sidney scored an empty net goal, putting the Penguins up 4-2 and forcing the Leafs to put Anderson back in.
The final seconds of the game ran out and the buzzer sounded and you released the biggest breath of your life. The Penguins came off the bench and swarmed you, patting you on the head and such. Kris and Sidney were the last members to come up to you.
Kris smiled and patted you on the head and shoulders. “I told you that you could do it.”
Your smiled widened and you nodded. Kris patted you once again before stepping aside for Sidney. Pressed his helmet to yours and did his best to hug you. “You’re incredible. You did it and I’m sure your brother was watching the whole thing.”
You smiled and used your stick to pat him back. Sid patted you again before pulling back and skating you back towards the bench. He let you off the ice before following you down the tunnel.
You went to go back to the dressing room to start taking all the equipment off, but the coach stopped you.
“What?” You asked.
“You can’t take your shit off yet.” He said.
“Why?”
He smiled. “Because you’re the first star of the game.”
Your eyes widened and you shook your head in disbelief. Sidney came up to stand beside you and patted you on the back. “Congratulations, you deserve it.”
“Thank you?” You said, still unsure.
He smiled. “Just wait here and when they call your name, you’ll go out there, skate in a small circle, raise your stick, then come back off the ice and you can go to the dressing room and take your shit off, okay?”
You nodded. “Thank you.”
“The first star of the game is from your Pittsburgh Penguins, number 92, (Y/N) Fleury!” The announcer said and you came out of the tunnel and stepped onto the ice. You raised your stick and skated in a small circle, just like Sid said before stepping off the ice and heading back down the tunnel, a smile bright on your lips.
As you walked to towards the locker room, you could hear the announcer announce the second star of the game: Sidney Crosby.
Once you got back to the locker room, the team gave you a standing ovation and Kris came over and held up his phone. “You’re trending on like everything.” He said with a big smile.

“Put your skates on and come out here.” Your boyfriend said after he skated up to the boards and pulled his mask off his.
You laughed from your side of the bench and leaned onto your arms. “It’s a team practice, baby. I’m not a member of the team.”
Marc-André shrugged and spared a glance behind him at the ice. “Practice is basically over anyways. Come on and have some fun.”
You took a deep breath and shook your head no, but it was always so hard to say no to your boyfriend’s bright smile. He was such a happy, smiley person and you wanted to do anything and everything to see that smile.
“Please? For me?” He asked softly, still smiling hopefully.
Before you could reply, Sid skated over. “What’s going on?”
You turned to that captain. “Somebody wants me to ruin practice by getting on the ice.”
Sid turned and looked at Fleury before shrugging and looking back at you. “Did you bring your skates? I mean, there’s plenty of extra sticks around.”
Marc-André gave you a look that could only be describe asSee? Now get your ass out here.
You sighed and nodded. “Fine, I’ll go put my skates on…”
Fleury high fived Crosby with a smile. “They’re in the bag I brought to practice in the locker room.”
You nodded your head and went to put on your skates.
When you came back, Marc-André was back in net taking shots from his teammates while Sid waited against the bench for you.
“Do you shoot right or left?” He asked.
“(Right/Left).” You replied and Sid gave you a stick.
“What am I supposed to do exactly?” You asked him. You went to practice with Marc-André because you liked hanging out with the guys. They were all so nice and were like a big family. The last thing you expected was to be invited into the practice with your whopping 0% of experience to back you up.
Sid gave you a mischievous smile and you almost regretted asking him what you were supposed to do. “Well, how about we get you a goal on your boyfriend?”
You raised your eyebrow at him and started to laugh. You knew that wasn’t possible. Marc-André was one of the best in the league and you really didn’t have any hockey experience besides some road hockey as a child.
Sid raised his hand and flagged someone over. You turned around to see Kris skating over.
“Yeah?” Kris asked, bringing his hand up to his hip.
“We’re going to get her a legit goal on Flower.” Sid said and Kris’s smile turned devious.
“Yeah, of course. Can you take a pass?” Kris asked.
You nodded. “I think so, yeah.”
Kris and Sid nodded. “Good.”
“So, here’s my plan,” Sid said, putting his hand on your shoulder. “You’re going to stand with the pile of pucks and keep shooting at him to keep him expecting you to be coming from the same angle, then we’re going to start shooting on him to overwhelm him and then we’ll start passing to you, cool?”
You nodded. “Okay.”
The three of you broke up and you moved towards the mentioned pile of pucks and Kris and Sid moved to the other side of Marc-André.
“I don’t like whatever the three of you are planning!” He called once the three of you got closer to him.
“Then why’d you call me onto the ice, baby?” You called back with a smile and started to fire some shots at him. Unsurprisingly, you missed the net or he easily stopped them.
The rest of the team stopped and let the two of you go. Then, Sid and Kris started to fire some hard shots at Fleury which caused him to yell. “What the fuck are you doing to me?!”
You, Kris and Sid laughed and continued to shoot some shots at him, leaving him to try to stop the shots of you and two players at the same time, which wasn’t overly hard since you weren’t a threat and Kris wasn’t really trying to score, just annoy him. His only real threat was Sidney, who really was trying to score on Flower.
Then Kris faked a shot and sent a pass to you and your boyfriend realized a moment too late that Kris’s shot wasn’t coming at him and moved back towards your side of the net, but not before you shot the puck and it slipped between his legs.
“Yes!” Kris and Sid screamed and came skating at you.
“I did it?” You asked, really not believing it.
Kris and Sid got up to you and sandwiched you between them. After patting you on the head, Sid pulled back and looked towards the team, most of them leaning on the boards or sitting on the bench. “Let’s call it guys.” Sid said and the other players nodded and started to get off the ice.
Kris smiled at you and patted you on the shoulder before skating towards the bench where he caught up with Fleury.
“I let her score.” Marc-André said to Kris.
Kris laughed and patted Fleury on the shoulder. “I’m sure you did.”
“I did!” Your boyfriend cried to his friend as Kris walked off the ice, leaving you and him on the ice.
“You’re still an amazing goalie, baby.” You said, touching his arm. “I love you.”
Marc-André pulled his mask off and smiled at you. “I love you, too. I’m glad you had fun.”
“I did, thank you.”

Wine and Hockey

Fandom: NHL
Relationship: Pre-Established; Sidney Crosby x Reader
Summary: The Reader is the Fleurys’ nanny and she accidently spills a secret at diner about one of his old teammates.
Word Count: 1.6k
Warnings: Alcohol.
Tumblr media
“I’m honestly still not over the fact that you used to play with Sidney Crosby.” You said without thought.
Marc-André and Veronique had asked you to go for dinner with them while the kids were with their grandparents. You had originally politely turned them down, but it wasn’t easy saying no to either of them so, you ended up at dinner.
You should have said no to the glass of wine, and you really should have said no to the secondglass of wine, but Marc-André was already filling your glass before you could say “no.” And, well, two drink you really didn’t know how to keep her mouth shut, which was how that comment about Sidney Crosby came out of your mouth.
Your hand immediately came up to your mouth and your eyes widened. Marc-André laughed and shrugged.
“I’m so sorry.” You said and Marc-André shrugged again.
“Don’t worry about it.” The table went quiet for a moment before his lips twitched into a small, mischievous smile and he looked back at you. “I didn’t know you liked Sid?”
You shrugged and took a big drink of wine to avoid answering.
“What about him do you like? I thought you didn’t follow hockey very much?” He continued. Veronique gave her husband a look, but he ignored her.
“You don’t have to follow hockey to follow that ass.” You said before you could stop yourself. As soon as the words were out of your mouth, you felt yourself blush and put your head down onto the table before you. Marc-André and Veronique couldn’t help but laugh at your comment.
“I’m so, so sorry.” You told them once you looked up.
Marc-André shrugged with a laugh. “I’m not. This has been fun.”
And so, that was the start of Marc-André’s plan. Sidney had broken up with his girlfriend a few months ago which meant he was single and now that he knew you liked Sid, Marc-André thought that the two of you would be a good couple.
The plan went into action when the Penguins played the Golden Knights in Vegas. Vero and the girls went to all of Marc-André’s home games, which meant that you went to all of his home games since you were their nanny.
The morning of the game, Marc-André asked you to go with him to the arena because he needed help with a “top secret plan.” He was your employer and you did what he asked, so you went with him. You thought that he was planning something special for Vero and needed your help with it, but you couldn’t be more wrong.
You walked behind him as he navigated through the arena hallways until you got to a hallway that had a handful of men, all of them with their backs to the two of you, so they didn’t see either. You were confused, but let it slide for the moment.
Marc-André smiled and walked over to one of the guys who was hearing a baseball cap and put his hand on the guy’s shoulder.
“Holy shit!” The guy said once he turned around. Sidney Crosby.
You felt your heart start to beat faster as you remembered what you said about him at dinner not that long ago.
“What are you doing here?” Sid asked Marc-André with a smile.
Marc-André gestured back to you and your heart started to beat even faster. “Our nanny is a big fan of yours so I thought I would bring her by to meet you.”
Sid nodded and tapped Marc-André on the shoulder before moving past him towards you with a smile and extended his hand. “Hi.”
You took his hand and gave him a shaky smile. “Hi.”
“So big fan, eh?” He asked and you nodded.
“Youngest captain in NHL history? Yeah, I’m a fan.” You said before you face palmed. “Sorry, I’m nervous. I didn’t know this would be happening.”
Sid laughed. “It’s okay, no need to be nervous though, alright? We’re all just a bunch of regular guys.”
“Seven minutes and forty seconds into overtime and you scored the golden goal. I wouldn’t call that regular. Oh my god someone stop me. I can’t stop talking when I’m nervous.” You said quickly, looking over to Marc-André with wide eyes, looking for help.
He shrugged and turned so that he could point at his ass before pointing back at Sidney. You felt yourself blush once again.
Sid laughed again and put his hand on your shoulder before turning around to look at Marc-André and the other guys. Marc-André smiled innocently, as if he had just stirred the pot and provided what you would call the most embarrassing moment of your life.
“So, I also came down here to see if you wanted to join Vero, the kids and I for dinner?” Marc-André asked.
Sid nodded. “I would love to, yeah.”
Marc-André nodded. “We’ll see you after the game then, yeah?”
Sid nodded. “I’ll see you after the game. Good luck out there.”
Marc-André gave him a look. “Luck? I don’t need luck. Right, (Y/N)?” He asked, looking at you.
“Seven minutes and forty seconds into overtime and he scored the golden goal. You were there. I think you need the luck.” You said, half jokingly.
Marc-André gave you a mock offended look and Sidney pulled you closer into a half-hug with a big smile. “I like her.” You felt yourself blush once again at his words.
Marc-André walked over to the two of you and grabbed your arm, pulling you away from Sidney. “I regret coming here and I regret inviting you to dinner. Have a good day.” He said before walking off with you.
“I’m sorry.” You said softly after walking for a few minutes in silence.
He laughed and knocked you a bit. “Don’t be.”
“You’re not mad?” You asked and he shook his head.
“Mad? Why would I be mad?”
You shrugged. “Because of what I said?”
He shook his head. “Don’t worry about it, it’s all good, okay? I know you only said that because of your crush on Sid.”
You nodded. “Right…”
Sidney did score on Marc-André during the game that night, but he was the only Penguin to do so and the Golden Knights won 2-1.
The game was fun and afterwards, you went with Vero to take the kids home. Then, you packed your stuff together got ready to go back home, like you usually did. But, this time, you were stopped.
“Where are you going?” Vero asked you.
“Home?” You answered.
“No, you should stay for dinner, please?” She asked and you nodded.
“Sure. That sounds nice, thank you.” You smiled.
Which was how you ended up at a dinner table sitting next to Sidney Crosby, your celebrity crush and the man you embarrassed yourself in front of just hours ago. You should have learned from the last time what too much wine did to you, especially when Sidney was involved, but you couldn’t sit next to the man and notdrink. So, you were a glass of wine in and working on your second.
And, because you were drinking, you got less stiff, your embarrassment faded and you were able to be a person again, which was nice.
You and Sidney got along pretty well after that. The two of you joked at the table, nudged each other a bit and it was as if the two of you had been friends for a while, not as if you had just met him and embarrassed yourself in front of him.
Marc-André looked across the table at his wife with a big smile and nodded his head towards the two of you when the two of you were talking, completely oblivious to the Fleurys. Vero smiled back and nodded. It seemed as if his plan was working.
And after dinner, the two of you talked some more and the night truly became less of a “I’m going to catch up with one of my friends” and more of a “I think I found someone I really like.”
“I should get going.” You said a while later and Sidney nodded.
“I should too, probably.”
The two of you looked at each other, neither sure of what to do. Both of you had just met. You didn’t think you could ask for hisnumber and he didn’t know if he could ask for yours. So, both of you got up and started to pack up your things, which was when Sidney started to notice a few of your stumbles.
You would have fell when you were putting on your shoes if he hadn’t caught you. “Okay, let me drive you back home. You really shouldn’t be driving.”
You wanted to argue, but you were in Sid’s arms because you couldn’t stand up. “That’s probably a good idea.”
He smiled and nodded and helped you back up. “Hey, my flight isn’t till the afternoon. Maybe we could get breakfast or something?” He asked hopefully.
“Yeah, I wou—“ You started before you shook your head. “No, I can’t. I’m workin—“ You explain, but were cut off by Marc-André shouting from the other room.
“Take the morning off!”
Sid looked at you. “Doesn’t sound like you’re working.”
You smiled. “In that case, I would love to do breakfast.”

“I think it’s time to meet the guys.” Kris had said to you one night.
The Penguins were out of town playing the Sharks and you had watched the game on TV and Kris had called you from his hotel room later.
“Really?” You asked softly.
“Yeah. I want you to meet them.” Kris told you.
You smiled into the phone and nodded even though you knew Kris couldn’t see you. “Okay.”
“Okay.” You could tell Kris was smiling from the way his voice sounded.
And so, Kris decided to bring you to a morning practice once the Penguins were back in Pittsburgh. You went with him to the arena and he brought you to the players’ bench where you sat down before he headed back to the locker room to change.
You were sitting on the bench, playing on your phone when you were startled.
“Um, who are you?” You heard and looked up to see Sidney Crosby standing beside you. Your eyes went wide and you opened your mouth to reply but struggled to find the right words.
“I’m (Y/N).” You eventually said and stood up, extending your hand to him.
Sidney raised an eyebrow at you and pulled his glove off to shake your hand. “Sidney.”
“I uh…Kris brought me.” You said after you pulled your hand back.
Realization immediately hit Sid and he nodded. “So you’re the girlfriend, eh? Alright. Welcome to the family!”
You laughed at his response. “Thanks.”
Sid gestured to the ice. “I’m going out there now, but have fun watching, okay?”
You nodded. “I’m sure I will.”
Sid went onto the ice and you sat back down and slowly the other players began to funnel onto the ice. They all gave you a weird look, but Sid had your back. Kris and Marc-André ended up being the last ones out of the locker room.
Fleury went onto the ice, but Kris hung back for a moment to check on you. “How are you doing?”
You smiled. “I’m good. Met Sidney, he seems nice.”
Kris smiled and touched your arm. “I’ll bring the guys over for you to meet, okay?”
You nodded and stood from the bench once Kris skated onto the ice and over to the guys.
“Hey guys, I want you to introduce you to (Y/N).” Kris said and gestured behind him towards you. Sidney smiled.
“That’s (Y/N)?” Olli asked, raising an eyebrow at Kris.
Kris nodded. “Yeah, why?”
“She’s very pretty. I’m surprised she’s with you is all.” Olli said with a smile.
Fleury nudged Määttä. “Flowing hair and a Frenchaccent? Are you kidding?”
Kris rolled his eyes but couldn’t help but smile. “Can you guys please just come over and meet her?”
Fleury nodded. “I would love to meet the girl who has stolen the heart of our Tanger.”
Kris shook his head, but nonetheless skated backwards towards the bench. The other guys followed him. Kris leaned back against the bench to the side of you with a smile. Once the guys got closer to the two of you, he started to introduce everyone.
“(Y/N), I want you to meet Olli, Marc-André, Horny...” Kris went on introducing you to his teammates.
The boys took off their gloves and one by one shook your hand.
“It’s so nice to meet all of you.” You told them.
“It’s nice to finally meet you, Kris has told us a lot about you.” Fleury said with a smile, leaning onto the boards on your other side.
You raised an eyebrow and looked over at your boyfriend. “All good things I hope.”
Kris smiled. “I couldn’t say anything bad about you if I tried.”
The two of you heard a few mocking “aw”s and looked over to the team, and a few of them started snickering.
Sidney stepped in and poked them with his stick before nodding his head towards the ice. “Come on guys, leave them alone. We have practice anyways.”
The other guys nodded and skated back towards to where they were before, leaving you, Kris and Marc-André by the bench. Marc-André patted you on the arm. “It’s truly nice to meet you.”
You smiled at him. “It’s really nice to meet you, too. I’m a big fan of yours.”
Fleury laughed. “Thanks.” He then nodded and skated back towards his net.
“Why are you still here? Go practice.” You told your boyfriend.
Kris shrugged and pulled his helmet off before leaning over the bench to kiss you. You brought your hand up to cup his cheek. Kris pulled back after the two of you heard some whistles from his teammates.
Kris shook his head and put his helmet back on before skating over to them, leaving you to sit and watch the practice from the bench.
