Carlos Malpica Flores: Madrid se viste de feriasDescubrir el Arte, la revista líder de arte en español

Del 27 de febrero al 3 de marzo, la capital acoge distintas propuestas de arte contemporáneo: Arco; Art Madrid; JUSTMAD, que celebra diez años apoyando al arte emergente; Drawing Room, dedicada al dibujo y la ilustración; URVANITY, que reúne disciplinas que parten del arte urbano como el posgrafiti, el pop surrealista o el nuevo pop art; la nueva SAM (Salón de Arte Moderno) y la veterana Flecha

Como todos los años, a finales de febrero, Madrid acoge distintas ferias dedicadas al arte contemporáneo para todos los gustos. Además, museos y centros expositivos se suman con propuestas de todo tipo y las galerías apuestan por exposiciones importantes porque en esta semana la capital recibe a coleccionistas de arte nacionales e internacionales y visitantes que quieren ver qué se cuece en el arte contemporáneo.

JUSTMAD (Palacio de Neptuno)

Para celebrar los diez años, esta feria acoge a 60 expositores y apuesta fuerte por el arte joven. “En diez años han pasado muchas cosas, y hemos vivido en primera línea, como todo el sector artístico, la crisis más profunda de nuestra época”, señalan desde JUSTMAD. A pesar de las dificultades, esta feria ha sobrevivido y se ha consolidado como la principal feria dedicada a los descubrimientos y a la vanguardia del arte en España. Directores artísticos: Semíramis González y Daniel Silvo.

Desde JUSTMAD señalan su compromiso con distintas causas sociales: “Año tras año hemos querido dar visibilidad a las mujeres, tanto artistas y galeristas, siempre buscando propuestas de calidad dentro del arte emergente. La edición pasada ha contado con un porcentaje de 53 por ciento de artistas mujeres frente a un 47 por ciento de hombres”. Además, asociaciones como MAV (Mujeres en las Artes Visuales), disfrutan de entrada gratuita a la feria desde hace varios años.

La feria, durante esta década, ha colaborado también con la Fundación Konecta o la ONG In Movement, entre otras; para este 2019 lo harán con el proyecto CNIO Arte, iniciativa del CNIO – Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncológicas, para poner en contacto a científicos y artistas de primera fila internacional y explorar así los territorios comunes de la investigación científica y la creación artística. Este proyecto parte de un principio fundamental: tanto la ciencia como el arte son indispensables para entender e interpretar el mundo, y ambos pueden inspirarse mutuamente. En palabras de María A. Blasco, directora del CNIO: “Científicos y artistas siempre hemos mirado de frente a lo desconocido, a la oscuridad, y no hemos temido adentrarnos en ella, con la mente abierta, para así poder aprender, poder ver más allá”. En esta edición se ha invitado al físico cuántico Ignacio Cirac y al fotógrafo Chema Madoz, que se encuentran colaborando actualmente. En JUSTMAD se presentará esta colaboración con la presencia de la obra de Madoz.

Drawing Room: Feria de Dibujo Contemporáneo (Palacio Santa Bárbara)

El Palacio Santa Bárbara, obra del arquitecto Juan de Madrazo y Kuntz, acogerá la cuarta edición de Drawing Room Madrid. Un edificio racionalista de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX, situado en el epicentro del arte, acogerá 19 galerías procedentes de Bélgica, Argentina, Japón, Portugal y España. Directora: Mónica Álvarez Careaga.

Entre las nuevas incorporaciones de galerías se encuentran Yoko Uhoda Gallery, procedente de Lieja (Bélgica); Granada, de Buenos Aires (Argentina), y las españolas Artizar (Santa Cruz de Tenerife), La Carbonería (Huesca), La Casa Amarilla (Zaragoza) y Ogami Press (Madrid). Tres galerías portuguesas, que participaron en la edición lisboeta de Drawing Room, que se celebró el pasado mes de octubre, también estarán presentes en Madrid: Fonseca Macedo Arte Contemporânea (Ponta Delgada), Monumental y Módulo (ambas de Lisboa).

Unos 40 artistas, la mitad de las cuales son mujeres, constituye una nueva y panorámica de la práctica transgeneracional del dibujo contemporáneo internacional que propone Drawing Room para la semana más importante del mercado del arte español. De las galerías participantes, seis expondrán proyectos individuales de sus artistas: Clara Sánchez Sala (ATM + Addaya), Luna Bengoechea (Galería Lucía Mendoza), Edgar Plans (Galería Granada), Rubén Tortosa (Galería Set), José Loureiro (Fonseca Macedo Arte Contemporânea) y Mizuo Koyama (Kitai Gallery).

Esta feria dedicada a la difusión y puesta en valor del dibujo contemporáneo cuenta con la ayuda de un Comité Curatorial integrado por Elsy Lahner, conservadora de arte contemporáneo en la Albertina Museum (Viena); Inmaculada Corcho, directora del Museo ABC (Madrid); las comisarias Mercedes Estarellas (Mallorca), Simona Gavioli (Bolonia) y Susana Sanz (Pekín), la consultora artística Ivânia de Mendonça Gallo (Lisboa) y el galerista de Santander Juan González de Riancho. A ellos se une en esta edición la coleccionista madrileña Bárbara de Rueda.

URVANITY: COAM (calle Hortaleza 63, del 28 de febrero al 3 de marzo)

Vuelve la primera feria española dedicada al Nuevo Arte Contemporáneo, término que reúne aquellas disciplinas que parten del arte urbano como el posgrafiti, el pop surrealista o el nuevo pop art. Una ocasión única para disfrutar de cerca del trabajo de los referentes mundiales de estos lenguajes.

La tercera edición de URVANITY acoge a galerías tan emblemáticas como la londinense StolenSpace Gallery, la italiana Wunderkammern y la rusa RuArts Gallery o las españolas My Name’s Lolita Art, Yusto/Giner y SC Gallery, que se sumarán a un programa expositivo que reúne más de veinte galerías nacionales e internacionales.

De forma paralela, se realizarán intervenciones murales por toda la ciudad a cargo de reconocidos artistas, y un programa de conferencias, charlas y mesas redondas comisariado por la biblia del arte urbano Brooklyn Street Art. Los visitantes podrán disfrutar del Special Project ‘Okuda San Miguel by IQOS’, con obras inéditas del artista. Además, en esta tercera edición, la feria estrena una nueva sección con solo shows de los artistas Dan Witz, Miss Van, Jan Kaláb, y Sam3.

Los responsables del Salon du Connaisseur han puesto en marcha en la semana del arte de la capital una nueva feria, la primera especializada en este periodo histórico, que podrá verse en el espacio que ocupó en sus inicios Drawing Room. Según sus responsables, esta feria nace con la idea de “cubrir un vacío que existe en torno al arte moderno en el resto de ferias que se celebran durante esta semana del arte de Madrid”.

La feria contará con una selección de 10 galerías nacionales e internacionales que exhibirán piezas fundamentales de escultura y pintura de los grandes maestros del siglo XX, como Picasso, Tamara de Lempicka, Giacometti, Miró, Dalí, Tàpies, Feito, Guinovart, Clavé, Manolo Valdés, Barceló o Palazuelo. Según los organizadores, algunas de las obras se exhibirán por primera vez al público, después de haber estado celosamente guardadas durante años.
