There’s no response and Arriyn doesn’t expect one. Willhelm Greymane knows full well what kind of debt collector will be after him and why, just like everyone else Arriyn has ever been sent after at the mercurial whims of her patron. Warlocks who manage something clever, wizards who manage something stupid, sorcerers who flip the wrong switch or even the odd bard who’s become too attached to the wrong bedmate. Arriyn’s estoc has run through them all.

Fic one is a piece of background for a D&D cahracter whom I love but only got one session with because that group had a really awful DM.

“You’re a damned good marine Williams.” Shepard had said after Luna. “If I need my MARDET, I’ll be on the radio.” Ashley drops in the cycle-looping half of her scram rail module and twists the wires together quick and dirty, sealing the exposed copper twist with a dab of omni-gel and then some electrical tape on top. Garrus is also a bit of a gun-nut and she finds his handi-work obvious but irritating to work around, clearly wrapped up in a gordian knot of wires that makes sense only inside the Turian’s brain. She has to admit though that the rifle is not one she would normally be able to get hold of. Armax Arsenal’s Crossfire series is only available to Turian Elite units like their infamous Blackwatch, the Turian specific Spectre equivalent responsible for the safety of Palaven.

Snippet 2 is from the early stages of an Ashley/Liara fanfic. I hope I get around to doing that one eventually.

“And lo, in the hour of your anger I am come for I am deliverance.” Says a voice. Mara’s eyes snap open. “What?” She manages. There’s a woman, standing in her bedroom with native ease, she’s dressed in casual fashion. Rough, dark jeans and leather boots that end just below the knee. Black shirt rolled up to the elbow and an unbuttoned royal purple waistcoat over that, decorated with white furs at the collar. Dark red hair held up in a tight bun and an eyepatch that covers a scarred area of her almost deathly pale skin. Mara doesn’t really notice any of this, she’s stuck on the wings.

Finally, number 3 is from a SoVenj AU fic. Because I love them so much.

Got tagged by @elinorbard and I am about to embark on a cross Pacific flight in 24 hours time so I am currently flat out and have not done nearly enough of my writing this week BUT. I do have some. Just not as much as I'd like lol. And some of it IS Kass and Enver but I'm keeping that close to the chest until Gortash week later in the month

They used stupid calendars, and nonsensical time-keeping methods. She learned, for example, that the year was not ten thousand one hundred and seventy-two After Telantiwar, because nobody on the surface knew what or where Telantiwar was, or why the years should be measured since the fall of such a mighty kingdom. Instead she was informed that the common calendar marked the year as thirteen hundred seventy-one Dale Reckoning, and apparently that was a much more civilised and sensible date to commemorate. She was reminded regularly that things on the surface were far more civilised than they were in the Underdark, with the unsaid addendum being that she was of course too stupid and brutish to understand such reasoning. And yes, she'd never been formally schooled, because what good was an education for one such as her, destined for a good and decent trade that did not require fanciful things like philosophy and grammar and art and biology. But that didn't make her stupid, and yet every second sentence seemed to trigger some inane reaction in her audience that drove them to condescend and talk down to her, over something as fucking inconsequential as the name of the year or the time of day.

As someone who's sapphic and outside norms of romance & gender in some ways, the range of queer women's representation in this game, and the sorts of relationships that exist between women has brought me joy and is something I always want more of. But she would have been untested as Regent. You gave our people hope when it had burned away in my absence, and held it high. You forged an alliance with humanity. Guided the Techeuns because you've walked their path. No one else could have ruled in my place. Any further questions, my Wrath? Petra: Just one. What did you love about her? Mara: I could list reasons until Sol burned out, but they would be... lacking in complete truth. We do not love rationally. We just love. Petra: I'll keep that in mind, my queen.
