Location: Creek Comics Open to all @maplecstarters
Hendrix pushed open the heavy door of the comic store, a content smile on his face. The place was comforting to him, a mix of comics, merch, t-shirts, collectables and even some vinyl records. He found himself going toward the back corner, where the lesser-known records hid. His fingertips brushed the edge of an old Jimi Hendrix album, and he smirked at the irony of it. His name.
As he stood there, lost in thought, Hendrix became aware of someone moving beside him. Glancing up from the records, he flashed a friendly smile. "Hey," he said, his voice casual but warm. "You have good taste if youâre hanging out in this section," he joked lightly.

The sun was out and Jonah didn't want to waste the day. It wouldn't be too much longer until winter hit so he decided to get an early start. Heâd closed the store that morning and packed his stuff ready to go for a hike. Fixing his bag on his back, he looked up as he saw someone approaching. âGood morning. I was just about to go for a hike,â he said, pointing in the direction of the old trail. âYou interested?â

Pat folded his arms, it wasn't quite cold yet but the weather was just starting to turn. He was just glad that preschool was back in. He finally had a moment to himself. He stumbled, nearly slipping through a shop window and landing flat on his back. âOh shitâŚâ He groaned, his hand lifting to his knee.Â

@maplecstarters Where: Medulla Coffee House
"There's a free seat here if you wish, I'm just on my own so as long as you don't mind company you're more than welcome to join." Ingrid knew how frustrating it was to need a seat and find none so she thought nothing of gesturing to the seat in front of her even if she was unsure that the person nearby would need it. "Always so busy in here isn't it?"

âOkay, okay. Be honest with me. Brutally honest. Iâm going to an early Halloween party slash birthday party.â He paused, looking down at himself. âWhat do you think of my look?â

Chris was never quiet about how he advocated for change, but even he was a little shocked as he left the town meeting, the air still warm in the summer months. It was odd to think the campground would be gone, although who was to say they werenât going to turn it into a nature reserve? âI donât think iâm going to object to it...â he stated, making his way out of the meeting with the crowd. âAlthough i know plenty who would argue...â He clicked his tongue as he rambled.
âYou want to go get a drink with the group of us?â He nodded at a few other locals. âWe make a habit of trying to get together after these things. Community spirit and all that.âÂ

âCurious...â Misha flicked through the files in her hands, page after page of paperwork unfolding before her. She was attempting to switch the paperwork over to digital before the new year. It was proving a task. Her predecessor kept very very detailed records of the towns. Not just medical records, but historical records, important events, births and even deaths. âSorry... the fire. Did you say it happened in 2012?â She furrowed her brows. âThereâs no record of it here.... nothing.âÂ

" You know, it's not that I don't love my job, but it just gets tiring sometimes."
Alice leaned against the bar counter and picked her near empty glass of whiskey as she finished it off, peering at the other from over the rim of the cup.

@maplecstarters Outside Maple Art Museum / around town centre Open to all
Gray let out a tired sigh, he could feel the slight chill of the approaching winter air against his skin. Heâd just finished an evening class and was locking up the museum. He felt exhausted but it had been a good evening. Many of the adults really enjoyed the later classes.
He'd thought about stopping to get some food but remembered he had some leftover pasta in the fridge and he knew he could easily put some life back into it with some fresh herbs and cheese. Cooking was a comfort to him, even when he was tired.
He headed around the corner to his car, his boots echoing on the ground in the quiet. He looked around, hearing footsteps, offering a smile at the other person. âHey, have you just finished work too? Just out and about? Busy day?â he asked, making conversation as he unlocked his car door.

Sadie paused, her lips pressed together in concentration as she looked up at the last box of cinnamon cereal right back on the high shelf. If she jumped... maybe she could reach it. She did a little bounce, reaching her hand up and just managing to tap the side of the box. It fell... knocking down several boxes of chocolate cereal with it and hitting the person beside her. âI am so sorry. Small person, high shelf. I do hope you like cereal,â she tried to joke, a little smile on her lips. âAre you okay though?â

Chris had been so focussed on the work on the campsite and town hall restorations, he had barely had time to take in the sights of Maple Creek lately. Plus, with the weather getting colder he wasnât exactly one to go out and freeze his butt off. He pushed the coffee shop door, groaning as it wouldnât budge. âClosed? What do you mean closed?â he looked at his watch, it was still pretty early and somehow he hadnât anticipated that coffee shops in Maple Creek werenât open as early as in the city.Â
âLooks like youâre going caffeine free today Chris.â he mused to himself, before looking at the person that was trying the door now heâd stepped away. âItâs closed.â he replied as if he had already known this fact before trying it himself. âI think the petrol station has a coffee machine... if you want a ride?âÂ

Chris had cast his line out into the water of the creek. Or at least he was assuming that is what it was called. He wasnât one for fishing, but heâd found his fatherâs old equipment at his momâs house and sheâd insisted on giving it to him. He was fairly certain she just wanted to clear out the garage of the old manâs stuff. He huffed, leaning back in the chair. âIâm not certain how people find this relaxing.â He mused, closing his eyes in the sunlight for just a moment.Â
Before he knew it a loud snore startled him, shaking from the chair he jumped awake. âI was just resting my eyes.â he defended, blinking awake to see if anyone had seen him drifting off.Â

Alex wasnât exactly a huge fan of the big crowds, loud music or even the beer. But there was one thing at the festival she adored. Glitter. She grinned at the thought and as she sat down in the chair she was prepared to get anything painted on her face. She was looking over the designs when she saw a familiar face walk past.Â
âHey!â She beamed, already excitable with everything going on around her. âDo you want to get matching glitter face paint?â She wiggled her brows, turning the designs to face the person sheâd collared towards her.Â

âi think after a little while even the most easiest task can become tedious.â glinda admitted, shrugging her shoulders at the thought. âwhat do you do for work?â the blonde questioned, looking over at the other for a moment. itâs all about finding something new and exciting each day.âÂ
